Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

When in a pinch, they are triangle shaped dough with toppings and sauce, but they are not here for the taste. They prey on drunk 21 year olds coming out of the bars and over charging for a slice pizza.. My pizza is usually cold and the toppings are an after thought. Of course, it is here to help sober folks up, and not here to win a taste contest. If you want tasty slice of pizza, go somewhere else, but if you need to get something in your belly before your trip home, it does an okay job.

Super greasy pizza that's short on taste, so you need to load up on parmesan/crushed red pepper/garlic. Planning on stealing the shakers? Oh no, my friend. These are chained to the counter. Go elsewhere with those ambitious plans. It's thin crust style which I prefer but on the small side compared to the typical pizza by the slice I'm used to (NY/Boston). $3 (Cheese) - $5 (Toppings) per slice. They have quite a few pies ready made that they just reheat when you order a slice. No idea how long they've been sitting out. Very small location w/ minimal seating. This is more geared to the bar hopping crowd that stops by to grab a slice to go. Open til 3:30am everyday

Cheap: Not cheap but affordable Prompt: yes Delicious: I give it 3 stars Excellent service: Ehh Great place to stumble into after having just enough to drink Ordered: Calzone with added spinach and garlic
(3)Regina K.
Not a a huge fan. With several late-night pizza spots downtown, you can find a much better place.
(2)Laurys B.
I'm not even sure if this pizza was good as I have no recollection, but it must have been pretty darn good considering the amount of times I went in one night. This was the most affordable pizza we found in the area. It wasn't cheap by any means, it was just cheaper than others. This place is incredibly small. The seating is limited, so if you're hammered, good luck! You'll most likely be eating outside with all the other drunks.

Hot and steamy, soft and cheesy, with a crunchy crust to end it off is my kind of pizza late at night after an amazing time at the club. Well, that's when it's best for me of course. But you might like it in the middle of the day when the crowds are a lot calmer and sober. This is one of my go to pizza places when the munchies strike after brewing up a sweat on the dance floor. It's open late so if you are hungry and it's after two in the morning you can count on them. On the weekends the lines are extremely long, running outside the door, but they move fast. It's an art I think they've mastered in anticipation of the late night crowd. It's really small inside so finding a seat, again late at night, will be difficult. But if you don't mind standing up or taking your slice(s) to go you'll be fine. During the afternoon the crowd is definitely calmer and finding a seat shouldn't be a problem. It wasn't for me when I took my 5 kids. We couldn't all fit at one table but that's what added to our experience of eating at a pizza joint in the city. Oh yes, the pizza is delish!

When judging all other Orlando pizza dives this place is as good as it gets in my opinion!! I always get there white pizza and it rocks my taste buds every single time! I recently was lucky enough to score a bite of their "Planet Special" and it did not disappoint! It was the best supreme type pizza I possibly have ever had. Now I have tried other pizza places in the vicinity and they are just not the same. I always tend to get "White" pizzas so different toppings do not effect my preference. While I was lost in the bliss of my pizza the other night, I realized it is Planet Pizza's crust that puts them above the rest. It's the perfect blend of crispy but chewey, but greasy combination that wins my heart over all the time. Besides the actual pizza there is a little seating area, nothing fancy and kiind of ghetto, but that's exactly what you would expect from a pizza dive so it definitely doesn't disappoint!
(5)Frank L.
Excellent pizza after a night of drinking. It really hits the spot! Do I dare try this place during the day while I am sober? If I do, I will post a followu-p ;)
(3)Bruce C.
Not to be confused with Pizza Planet of Toy Story fame, Planet Pizza is conveniently located just around the corner from I-Bar and a stones throw from most downtown bars given its pretty central location. The pizza here is all kinds of wonderful drunk food, with the white (sauceless with ricotta cheese) pizza being the menu standout. A wide varity of whole pies and slices are available to choose from, as well as calzones, pepperoni rolls and stromboli. As far as the whole Downtown Orlando pizza feud, I do not think this place is better or worse than Gino's HOWEVER they do sell Yoo-Hoo here which make drunk me a happy camper. Three stars for mediocre service and the culinary bias that alcohol imbues.
(3)jen b.
nothing beats their white pizza. Besides Chillers, this is the second place on my MUST go list when I come to Orlando. Every other place that has white pizza always tries to add greens to it, but not planet pizza. They keep it simple and amazing. Counting down the days until I can get more of it in my belly! And, YES, i would come here sober, but it's ohh so perfect after a night of drinkin and dancing!
(5)Kenneth B.
Good pizza!
(4)Peter C.
Not impressed. I am pretty liberal with my pizza reviews as I just love the stuff, but this definitely did not stand out in any way. I always judge pizza with pepperoni so they are all on an even playing field, and also because that is the classic slice right there. It was rather bland...the flavor was unremarkable, and after a few drinks most pizza tastes a bit better than this. Being that it is downtown and in the party zone, I won't knock it too much for ambience, but this was seriously lacking. Tiny, cramped quarters where a obnoxious group could potentially be a problem. There are better places downtown to eat pizza...maybe the specialty pizzas are better as some of the good reviews here are raving about that. Maybe I caught it on a bad night. Personally, I'd rather hit up Gino's on Church late night.
(3)Eric P.
Good pizza for the price. It's right by the heart of downtown Orlando so it's great for before or after a night on the town!
(4)Tracy M.
good pizza eat here all the time!
(5)Luigi B.
This little whole in the wall off Orange Avenue and Washington Street is definitely a MUST for all Pizza lovers like me who cannot live without a New York Style-Pizza. I just wonder why did't the owners of this great pizza parlor had the initiative of opening a branch where the Anthony's Pizza UCF was located. Because their pizzas are great. Strongly Recommendable for all ages!
(5)Alyx K.
Whenever I step out of the bars on this block, it's the eternal question: pizza or tacos? You may not get seating, the oregano may be shackled down, but you'll always get consistent late night pizza here that you can fold in half NY style - and sometimes at 2am that's all that really matters.
(3)Candace D.
Decided to try this place as it's very near my work and I was craving pizza. The only other time I've tried this place was when I was very drunk one evening. Ordered 2 slices- a white and pepperoni/mushroom. Positives: huge slices and decently priced (under $4 per slice). Negatives: They were lukewarm and tasted like they were sitting out for quite awhile. Kind of gross actually. I couldn't even finish either slice. I guess this place is good only when you're hammered otherwise I would never go back.
(1)Miryam H.
Great place to go for a quick bite to eat after the bars close on Orange Ave. The pizza here is good, reasonably priced and quickly prepared. If you chose to dine here at a late hour, then prepare yourself to be surrounded by drunk hungry people; but chances are that if you're here late at night then you are also one of these people! So enjoy the experience and the food! We love coming here for our pizza cravings because they have a large variety of toppings.
(4)Kina S.
I'm sorry to hear others having an unpleasant experience here. Their pizza every time I go is really good. The staff is personable. The pizza is always flavorful with fresh ingredients. The space leaves a little to be desired but that definitely doesn't take away from the experience.
(4)David D.
Nothing special, but at 2am after a night of drinking just about anything tastes good.
(2)Ryan H.
Doughy, under-cooked and lacking flavor. It wasn't 2 am not was I hammered, so two stars. My buddy felt the same way. Actually, pretty gross.
(2)Matt G.
Ate here once and the pizza was ok and the price was good, went today and there has be a 60 percent price increase. Not worth the money and definitely not worth the hassle of finding a parking spot for this average over priced pizza.
(1)David W.
Don't be deceived by the building appearance. Planet Pizza makes some good dough. Wide selection of different pies and friendly staff. I would recommend take out, not much seating.
(4)Brian W.
Over 26 years old. Lunch prices are lower than late night. They know how to make a real pizza.
(4)Clay W.
Strengths: Great location walking distance in downtown. Pizza is great. Can special order any slice you want. Opportunities: Service is so so. Summary: If you are downtown and want good pizza and don't chain pizza, this is your place.
(4)Yoda F.
Really good pizza. I had the meat lovers. Definitely better than the typical chain pizza but VERY expensive. 24 bucks for a large pizza... crazy. But if you want to shell out the dough, it's some good food.
(4)Shon R.
Bottom line - Planet Pizza is good for what it purports to be - a late night stop for pizza. This place will win no awards for pizza. I am honestly not sure how edible this stuff is when you are sober. But, when you need food after a late night this place more than fits the bill. As one of the few places open late at night in the entire city, there isn't much competition for these guys but it is what it is. If you are looking for a gourmet dining experience, keep it moving.
(3)Nicole V.
This place is unreal and deserves so much credit. Buffalo chicken is amazing, as is everything else. Highly recommended.
(5)Barrett A.
I always stop here when I'm downtown. Awesome selection and the slices are huge. The chicken bacon range is my favorite and let me tell you, the toppings are loaded.
(5)Jillian C.
Did you just leave Independent Bar? Or Bar BQ Bar maybe? Are you drunk and hungry? If you said yes to at least two of these, then head to Planet Pizza. I used to frequent this place quite often back in my clubbing days. I recently went to a show downtown and stopped in for a late night slice afterwards. Nothing has changed much over the years...the people behind the counter are still super bossy and rush you through the line as fast as they can, there's still at least one (usually more) intoxicated fool at the table next to you, and it's still a little grungy in there. Oh and it's still super bright in there too (maybe it's only bright when wearing beer goggles?). But all that aside, the pizza was still pretty darn good to my drunken palate...I scarfed down a buffalo chicken slice.
(3)Joey D.
Good pizza, but expensive for what it is. Almost $5 for a slice of anything other than cheese or pepperoni, and not a big enough slice to warrant it. You have to order at least 2 if not 3 to feel as if you ate anything, so it adds up fast. Not like late night pizza in other cities where when you order a slice its about 1/4 of the pie. This seems to be a new thing, I remember when I first started coming much larger pieces. If you are REALLY craving pizza and on a diet it will hit the spot, but if you are hungry consider other options.
(3)Colleen B.
Would I eat here sober? no. Do I stop here after a night out dancing? Yes. Does it get the job done then? Yes. Are the staff friendly? No. Do they have YooHoo? Yes. Should you get the calzone instead of the pizza? Yes. Did you find this review useful, funny or cool? ... Hope so.
(3)Chloe R.
The only thing worse than the service is the food... Actually the attitude of the staff.
(1)James A.
Best pizza ever after a night of drinking, quick satisfying slices which make you come backxand crave it
(5)Carl G.
The best money you will spend on a night of downtown binge drinking. LOL!! Marco and Frank are like my second downtown family. I've been showing up here so many times after a long night of drinking they pretty much now my order by heart! Cheese Pizza, White Cheese Pizza with sausage and mushroom, and Spinich and Tomato are my 3 favorite slices over the years. This has been a downtown staple for about as long as I can remember. They are now open for lunch. They are pretty quick with the service so when your in a hurry for a slice. Marco and Frank are also great guys and can pretty much fill you in on any downtown gossip that's going on. So when you want to know what's happening in downtown give the PLANET a try!
(4)Jamey C.
I love this place, i am a regular there, i work nearby and get off right at midnight, stop in for a pizza its so good, the people treat you like their family.. closest pizzaria to an actual new york pizzaria you will find here in orlando, when it comes to pizza taste, you cant beat planet. The only downside, is if your in town late at night, (2am) you are going to have to deal with drunk people, thats a given at pretty much any downtown late night eatery. No Bathrooms for Drunkys, sorry, should have gone before ya left the bar!
(5)Kevin S.
Definitely the worst pizza joint I have tried in Orlando. The pizza was soggy, not crispy. The inside was very grungy and dirty. The customer service was even worse. A man took my order (before I got to register) so he could put the pizza in the oven. Did the person who took my order coordinate with the cashier? Of course not. The verbally abusive, short haired woman at the register asked my gf what she ordered and misunderstood what my girlfriend said. She charged me the wrong amount, gave us the incorrect order, and was fuming when I asked her to reverse the charge. I asked her why she was so upset, and she slammed my money on the counter and told the orlando police officer/security at the door to have us leave. And to top it all off, she gave us the finger as we were escorted out by the police officer. We are normal, polite people- we did not deserve this kind of treatment. Bad food, bad business protocol, horrible customer service, and removal by police are more than enough reasons to completely boycot this sorry excuse for a pizza joint.

Came on a whim while we were driving around Downtown last night. Place is small, but there's a cool Ms. Pac Man/Galaga//Frogger machine near the entrance so if you're without a seat, at least you can get a game in. Got a slice of pepperoni pizza and it was like a standard issue model for pizza. Not very big, a limited amount of topping, just enough cheese and sauce. Nothing stood out, but it was still good. The pizza is better than it looks, so don't make a hasty judgement off the bat. This place is in the midst of the Downtown bar scene so keep it in mind when it comes down to drunk munchies time, and/or be aware you may encounter any number of stereotypically inebriated individuals. You know it's definitely true when they keep all their seasonings tied down to the table. My take: Visit if you're hungry, but don't go out of your way for this. Ever. Oh, and parking sucks.
(3)Mike Z.
Stopped in here for a Sicilian slice on Sunday night. It was good. Not the best I've had recently, but serviceable. I now like other places more than Planet Pizza, but this place still will do when you're nearby and hungry. And maybe tipsy.
(4)Tanya L.
This is the best pizza! After along afternoon of partying we needed to get food in our system so we decided to stop by and grab a slice of pizza! They have a variety of toppings. My favorite is pepperoni pizza. They even have Jamaican patties for the non-cheese eaters! :) the place is a bit small but our big group of friends managed to fit in there. Price is very convenient. You should definitely try it out!
(4)Omaira D.
This place has the best pizza you will ever eat in Orlando! I used to work within walking distance and would eat there constantly. Now I have to make "special trips" just to get a pizza from them. The building itself is older but they keep the place clean and there is new stuff behind the counter so don't let the looks fool you! If you going to order more than 3 slices you are better off price wise to go ahead and order a whole pizza. We pick up a pizza from here all the time, not only after a night of drinking downtown, so I can assure you it's good. Great food, great prices, and good selection!
(5)Greshka P.
One of the best late night pizza I've had. Any toppings they have. They also have empanadas. Qiuck ordering, cheap, and right off WallStreet.
(4)April K.
Disclaimer: I have NEVER been here while not potentially under the influence of some kind of alcohol. That being said they are my favorite place for a crispy, hot, white pizza, with added pepperoni (don't judge me). I always get it to go because almost all food somehow tastes better while at home wearing bed clothes. Downtown, tired, hungry, needing something to help sober you up?? Get some Planet Pizza!
(4)Libby W.
I can't figure out why I love their pizza. Is it really that good or is it that I have only had it while drunk coming out of Ibar? Mental note: Next time I go to have a slice, attempt to be sober. I actually believe their magical pizzas help fight off hangovers. They have a variety of pizzas and their clientel is just as friendly as the staff.
(4)Joseluis A.
you only need to know a couple of things about this place. they are open late and their slices start at $3.25. the question is, how drunk are you? or how hungry are you? if you happen to be both, coming here late night should not even be questionable. who doesnt like cheesy, greasy, yummy pizza? i was just following the herd... oh and im always down for greasy, cheesy, yummy pizza!
(4)Sean R.
Can't go too wrong with Pizza and this place does not disappoint.
(4)laura h.
I use to love this place.... but i went here the other night for the first time in a while and my pizza extra greasy. I had an upset stomach for the rest of the night and the next morning. I even patted down the pizza with a napkin before eating. Another thing which really annoys my BF, if they don't cook the toppings when they cook they pizza, they just add them on when they warm the pizza up. After my last experience i probably won't eat ere again for a while.
(2)Bryan B.
Great pizza. That's it.
(4)Lauren J.
Pizza Planet has the best BBQ chicken pizza in the world. No kidding. i would suggest this place to people in the Captiol of Delicousville if they were looking for a place to eat. It's just that good. I really feel like nobody understands the complexity of GOOD BBQ Chicken Pizza... They get it. They just do.
(5)Nathan R.
Planet Pizza neighbors I-Spy bar and is just a stumble around the corner from Independent Bar. It is the perfect post-bar pit stop to fulfill your late night hunger. I am sure many may disagree with me, but of the number of pizza places sprinkled throughout downtown, Planet Pizza takes the cake (err..pie) of the best in the area. The service is always friendly, in that rough NY sort of way, and the slices are even better. I usually go with the Planet Special, which has a ton of veggies and ham piled on top. The BBQ Chicken Pizza has shredded, tangy BBQ chicken piled on top of your slice and is always satisfying as well. The white pizza is definitely worth trying as well, and the normal slice of pizza does a pretty adequate job of pouring over your paper plate. Each slice is around the 3 dollar mark. Don't go in expecting a fine dining experience, as Planet Pizza is a narrow room with a few tables and chairs thrown in. Not to get all commercial on you, but when you are craving that late night "fourth meal," skip your local fast food restaurant and head over to Planet Pizza to feed your fix.
(4)Brandi B.
I've eaten here, too, when I was desperate for food to stave off alcohol poisoning after a long night at Barbarella/Independent Bar, but....are y'all too drunk to see the...ummmm...critters that scurry around here?!? Bland, cardboardy crust, greasy cheese. Blech. Stop the insanity!
(1)enea c.
The point has been proven, but one more review doesn't hurt. Yes, this is the kind of pizza that you eat when you have consumed a lot of alcohol. Is it good? Yes it is. Not the best pizza (by drunken standard it is for sure). The place is conveniently located right off Orange St. The staff is amusing to say the least. If you are there, definitely go. If you aren't in the area and are looking for a place to eat pizza, then look somewhere else. Not worth the trip.
(3)Jennifer M.
Anything is good when you're drunk and looking for a quick fix to fill your stomach and absorb the alcohol! I remember the pizza doing it's job. Tasting fairly good and filling my stomach! Objective met, no complaints here!
(3)Drew M.
Drunk & downtown? Stop by Planet Pizza! It's the best place to grab a slice or two when you need something solid in your belly. The service is always quick and friendly...And they have a great selection of pizza types to choose from. These are NY-sized slices! I've actually grab a slice here sober as well...And it's just as good! One mystery: When are they gonna fix that bathroom?
(4)
