Not so good. Bacon was excellent... Burger was over cooked and undressed, order taker did not ask about toppings. Bun was old and stale. Best part was the fun freaky people hanging out there. I bet the breakfast is great, but burger (and fries) is what you expect for $6.50, blah. 2 stars

Great breakfast place. Enjoyed my huge meal. Could not eat it all. Very casual. Looks like it might've been a waffle house along time ago. Relaxing laid-back atmosphere. everyone seems very welcomed there. Very busy. Came on a Sunday morning around 9:00am and there was a couple of people waiting for tables but it moves pretty quickly. You just seat yourself if a table comes open or sit at the bar and a waitress will bring you a menu. Plenty to choose from on the menu.

I love Mr Quick. An awesome old style diner, it is laid out like old diners (and waffle houses) are, where you can see them prepare your food. The chef cuts up with coworkers and guests alike and is pretty funny. I have only gone here for breakfast and have really liked it. This is probably the best biscuits and gravy in Orlando. A lot of flavor, a little spicy, plenty of sausage mixed in with the gravy, nice biscuits. You can ask them for fluffy eggs and they are so big they will blow your mind. I got a fluffy omlette here and I could barely move when I left. They crack the eggs and then aerate them in a blender before cooking them, which makes them fluff up amazingly. Don't let the location scare you- it's a great, old diner that makes some dynamite breakfast.

Short Story, this place is great. Very friendly staff and great home-cooked food. I usually hit this place after the flea market on the weekends for breakfast and its always delicious. Trust me, I know these things...

It is what it is. No pretense. I have a bacon, egg and cheese on toast. Price was reasonable. I am able to cross this place off my list. There are obvious regulars to this place. Much of what the other Yelpers say is true- the staff is very nice, the decor is reminiscent, food is greasy. It is what it is.

"Wonderful breakfast on the dime." Today I was introduced to Mr. Quicks. First impression was that it was a dive, yet i kept an open mind. I was greeted warmly which for me is always a good sign. You sit where ever there is space. The menu had good, affordable choices. I had the waffles with grits and cheese, and turkey sausage. The waffles were a little thin, but were great tasting. Nothing special about the eggs, but they will make it for you whatever way you like. I am not a coffee drinker, but i enjoyed the cup of joe provided. They actually use real shredded cheese on their grits (no processed cheese slices), yum. Ask for Lisa, she will take care of you with a smile. Its a family run business, some staff have been there for 30 years. Credit cards are accepted. Atmosphere is on the old side, but price, hospitality and food makes it a winner. They are open 6-9 M-F, and 6-3 on Weekends.

3 generations of my family have gone here. When I won an award at school we told the staff as if they were family. When my grandfather died and then years later my mother, they mourned right along with us. I've been going to mr.quick since I was a baby, my first visit was when the server spilled chocolate milk all over me. The best thing is that the same server loves to tell that story 27 years later every time I come in. the family atmosphere is the best thing about mr. quick, the food is the second best thing!

They give you a quality inexpensive breakfast. I went with the grilled chicken breasts, two eggs and hash browns. The chicken has a surprisingly good seasoning. I have also had their omelettes before they are very unique and fluffy. If your into appearance this isn't the place for you, but if you like a quality low priced breakfast give it a shot.

Mom & Pop personified. Good solid American fare served and prepared by good solid Americans. Been here forever and it looks that way. Don't come for fancy, come for friendly. Stay and chat with the regulars and Bob on the grill.

Nestled in a rough part of Orlando, you may be inclined to keeping driving. That would be a mistake! When it comes to good old fashioned diners, this place is a GEM. The food is wonderful, the service is fast, and the employees are as nice as it gets. I've eaten here off and on over the years and I am never disappointed. Do make sure you come early on the weekends as seating is limited and the regulars are more than content to wait in line. The prices are very reasonable and I encourage you to try the waffles! The cook is also a hoot and will keep you entertained. Get to Mr Quick's quickly!!

This is a mom and pops place that have been around for a very long time. The staff are VERY homey and friendly. That will treat you like family. The menu is quite cheap. The ambience however is quite "homely cheap" per say. I ordered the burger and friesdue to craving for one. The burger was placed on a fire flamed grill. However the fries came from a frozen bag. Burger was pleasant with a grilled taste to it. Fries tasted like fries you fry from home. Customers are regulars here I can tell because they speak in "familiarity" terms or verbage.. LOL I want to come back and try the Waffle and Omelets since I hear they are the star of the show!

This is a neighborhood spot that clearly attracts a lot of regulars. It looks like it hasn't changed an ounce since it opened back in the 60's. That being said, don't expect anything fancy! Greasy but satisfying fare, colorful patrons, and nostalgia galore.

Not too shabby, but get there early. After passing by Mr. Quick numerous times, I finally decided to stop in and see what the deal was with this place. While I hadn't heard a lot of talk about it, the parking lot always seems to be full in the mornings and those who had given it a try gave it the thumbs up. After eating here a few times, I have to do the same. Right off the bat, this is very much a mom and pop diner so don't go in expecting to be blown away by the ambience of the place. The place is old, but has always been clean on my visits. Personally, I find these places to be a welcome change of pace from some of the other stuffier establishments out there, but to each his own. Where Mr. Quick excels is at customer service and making good food for cheap. The menu is straightforward and the food is consistently good. I generally get an omelet, but their burgers are also solid. However, the place is small and fills up quickly on the weekends. You should definitely get there early on the weekends if you want a table. Beyond that, Mr. Quick is a good spot to swing by and grab breakfast.

Best little homestyle restaurant in town.. Prices are as great as the food.. May not be located in the best area of town but we have been going there for years and never had a problem. Staff is the most friendliest...

(Review based on a lunch on July 6, 2011.) Mr. Quick's wears the badge of a greasy spoon proudly. They served diner fare to Orlando for 35 years. And it does give you a sense of a time warp. The decor is pretty much right out of the late 70s/early 80s with wood paneling, old floor tiles, drop ceilings. The menu is typical of what you expect: standard breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, etc. The prices are quite affordable and inexpensive. But it's appropriate to the quality. You're not going to get a new take on a classic dish, you're going to get the classic dish. I splurged and went for a unique Craig's Famous Chopped Steak sandwich--an 8 oz beef patty. It was served with grilled onions, green peppers, mushrooms and American cheese. I requested it served medium, and the cook got it right. I also asked for spicy monterey jack cheese, but they didn't get that right. However the American cheese tasted fine. It was served on wheat toast, which the hamburger patty's juices soaked the bottom slice. In hindsight, I'd ask for a more substantial bun. I added a side of tots for good measure. The staff is courteous and service was prompt. There's a lot of old Orlando in Mr. Quick--from the decor, to the staff, to the patrons. The food is good and the prices are great. You won't see hipsters, or foodies here, and that's just alright by me.

I have to say I walked into here and thought is it 1968? This place was tasty, reasonably priced, strange, and the service was excellent. The crowd was a site. I love the sign on the lawn to keep your butts off the lawn. Great Chicken fried steak, tasty gravy, and tasty waffle. This was really worth the experience.

Not exactly my cup of tea! I enjoy a clean inviting atmosphere, yummy food, and good coffee! I don't enjoy roches at my breakfast table, cold coffee, or dirty tables. To say the least it wasnt a very pleasant experience. My boyfriend got eggs, grits, a waffle, and a teeny tiny piece of ham. I got a bacon and cheese omelet big & fluffy, hasbrowns, and a bun. He said mine was better than his, which doesn't say much! The food was mediocre, nothing over the top! I didn't think the environment was inviting either...the hunt continues for a breakfast spot!

If you're looking for a greasy spoon, you can find it here. Clearly this establishment has hardworking staff who will deliver some awe inspiring grilled biscuits to your table. In case you are confused, as I was at first, a grilled biscuit is browned on a "short order" grill alongside hamburgers and bacon. The cook slices a very tasty, flaky biscuit into 2 halves, liberally applies butter to the cut side, and lays it on the grill until it is quite brown. The cook removes the biscuit, plates it, and adds a butter dollop on top. Personally, I think the second buttering is excessive, I just scraped it off. I've never had biscuit with quite this flavor before. I had a bite of omelet as well which was light and fluffy. I absolutely would order both again.

Mr. Quick has simply the best omelets I have ever had. What makes them the best is they are the flufiest, where as most are nothing but flat hard eggs wrapped around the filling. There are many other items on the menu from waffles to burgers to lunch specials. Located at the corner of Kirkman and 50.
