Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

great food and great over the phone service, which is often hard to find! we were excited to find a place that actually delivered to our neighborhood, delivery was fast considering the amount of food we got! (2 large pizzas, 25 wings, 2 orders of garlic rolls and a 2-liter soda.) Also, we could pay the delivery person which was very convenient. oh and delivery is free over $10! Wings were the best part of the order, the spicy Italian and spicy garlic flavored were absolutely delicious! Also the pizza is perfectly handmade and the garlic rolls are delicious. Overall a great experience ordering, will definitely be dining in sometime soon!

Hands-down best pizza. I'm from New Jersey I grew up on pizza and Mama Romano's nailed it... Thank you thank you thank you. Nicholas.

I can say that me and my Wife love coming here, the product they prepare is very good and they do a good business however I only give them 3stars because of their execution, the service here is very slow, of my last 5 visits to this establishment 5 times for me have been awful with no sense of urgency from server to cook! May be it's me but 5 for 5 shows someone is relaxed if not all! I have a hard time going into a restaurant with 1 or 2 tables, seeing 4 servers and 4 cooks just talking and confer sating while you wait on average 35 to 40 mins for a pasta dish and sandwich. Hope this helps not only diners but also the restaurant.

The food is very good, but the service is the worst that I have ever experienced. I called in my order at just after 6:10 and was told it would be over an hour for delivery, which I expected as this is always the case with them. I called at 6:50 because I needed to run out and was asking if the food had already left because if it had not, I would go pick it up. I was told it had left. 7:20 rolls around and I had not gotten the food yet so I called and was told it had just left 10 minutes ago. The explanation was that it appears other people had the same name as me and the gentleman did not check the right person at 6:50. How about looking it up by address instead? A few minutes later I got my food and it was wrong, so they told me they would put mine as a priority. It is now 8:30 and I just got the corrected pizza. It should not take an additional hour when I had already waited over an hour. This service is not unusual for them. Update to my original post - Spoke to Josh (the manager) who is always helpful when there is an issue but he was not working last night. He assured me that he will be speaking to the staff that I worked with last night to correct the issues. He has made it right with me.

The owner himself went the extra mile by calling me and making it right. Needless to say, that doesn't happen often. I will continue to support Mama Romano's because they care about the product and the community. Thanks Mr. Paul

I grew up on Giordano's pizza. Since there isn't one close by, I've tried many places and Mama Romanos is my new favorite. From their salads to calzones and ultimately, their handmade pizza, they are my favorite local pizza place. I have never had anything there that was less than excellent. When family comes to visit, this is my go-to for pizza night. And their marsala chicken wings are my all-time favorite.

Great little Italian place in a strip shopping center. I had lunch here with 2 co-workers recently and we all really enjoyed the food. I tried a slice of the NY style pizza and the Sicilian style. Both pieces were huge, delicious and very fresh. The NY style was our favorite vs. the Sicilian.

Great deals and great food. On Wednesday they have great specials. The staff wasent too helpful but luckily Google helped alot. The pizza was okay nothing too special. I wouldn't say it is anything out of this world

I love Italian food. I even went back home to Italy to taste how real Italian cooking should taste. Thus, from the flavorful meals of northern Italy to the hearty meals from southern Italy, I do understand Italian cooking. The food was exceptional at this Spanish owned Italian restaurant. I wanted to experience home cooking and I was adequately pleased. I ordered Meatballs with Ricotta cheese ( came with garlic rolls made to perfection), zuppa del giorno (soup of the day), and Veal Sorrentino ( Veal on top a layer of eggplant and Italian ham that is place on top a bed of penne pasta). I can say I was very full with the meal. Because I didn't finish my meal, I had to ask for a box. The portion was huge and very tasty. With two glasses of Chianti, my bill came to $35.00., which isn't that bad. If I had to make a criticism, I was expecting an genuine Italian owned restaurant which I can feel comfortable to speak Italian. Haha. Sorry. The food was fantastic, my waitress was very attentive to my needs (even though it was somewhat packed), and wine selection was just right. Even though I'm a tough reviewer, I can say you won't be disappointed if you ate here. To summarize: Pros: atmosphere feels like an Italian restaurant Food is big portions, hot, and very tasty Wine list is up to my expectation With the portions they serve, the price is awesome. You get bang for the buck!! The waitress was attentive to my needs Cons: I expected an authentic family owned Italian restaurant with Italian speaking owners. Not to discredit the wonderful experience, let me pose this. Would you go to a Chinese's restaurant who ran their operation by Mexicans even though the food is good? Some wouldn't care, but there are many would say otherwise. Recommendation: match your pasta to the type of sauce of your dish. Thick sauce matches with the penne and spaghetti noodles, or any big noodle. Thin sauces go with thin or angel hair pasta. To match the wine, a Chianti goes with everything. I ask my waitress to recommend my pasta to see her knowledge. Eh.. However, she is extremely nice!!! Recommend for the restaurant: a classic Italian restaurant's foundation is the sauce. Try and perfect it. Its not bad but cook it longer, more oregano and basil and a touch more sugar. There are many Italians from southern Italy like it thicker. Hence, why I gave you 4-stars

I have never in my life had such terrible service from a pizza place. I placed an order at 1pm. Called again at around 2pm asking where the heck my order was. They told me twenty minutes more. Like a chump, I agreed to this. Still did not arrive. Called again at 3:30 and they told me 20 mins again. Is this a real restuarant or some kind of elaborate prank? I have read other reviews stating this happened to them as well. Again, I wonder if this is a real restuarant? I would not at all be surprised to see this place on the news as a money laundering scheme or something of that nature. They sure don't seem interested in selling food. Very odd.

Amazing food and amazing service. We stopped here to get a quick bite to eat after landing in Orlando and thought we would try a local place. We got salads and a Stuffed crust pizza and everything was great. Service was great too! Highly recommend!
(5)Briona L.
Great food, great service! My favorite spot for me and my family going on two years ! Won't find anything better!

We come to Orlando to visit the parks, and like a good eat. We first found this place from a coupon flyer, but since then we've driven just to frequent here because the food is worth it. We were a party of two on this most visit which is being reviewed. Atmosphere - It is a little place in the Publix shopping center and seats probably 100 people or so. It is clean inside, and in good condition. Meet & Greet - It is usually pretty crowded in the evenings, and on on most recent visit there was only one table free. There was nobody to greet us when we came in, so we sat ourselves by the door. It was a bit cool due to the proximity to the door, so eventually when a server came to bring menus we asked to be reseated at a table further from the door (that had just freed up). They did quickly clean the table, and seated us at the new table. Drink Service - The waitress took our drink order immediately, and brought out the drinks within a couple minutes. Drinks were constantly monitored by servers and refilled before dry. Food Service - Menu is a full italian menu with a good pasta selection, pizza, salads, etc. We ordered a calzone and fetticine alfredo on the most recent visit. Since you get 3 garlic knots with each entree, the garlic knots came within minutes, and the server brought an extra plate so we could share. Next we received the soup/salad which comes with the entree. Amost as soon as the starters were finished the fettuccine Alfredo arrived, and with it an apology that the calzone was not quite ready. The fettuccine Alfredo was finished in its entirety, and another server asked if she could clear the table and get us the check (oops). I mentioned to her that we hadn't even received our other entree yet. Another 5 minutes later the calzone arrived, meanwhile my wife just gets to sit and watch me eat my entire meal. Food Experience - Amazing food. This time we had calzone and fettuccine Alfredo, but before we have had the Lasagna and spaghetti and all were great, the sauce is full flavored and a hint of spice. Pizza is also great as well, and has a nice chewy crust. Portions are generous and many could be spit given the fact you get three amazing garlic knots with each entree, as well as soup or salad. Closure - Table was cleared pretty much as soon as the food was completed, and we were offered dessert. It took quite a while to actually bring the check to the table, and another 5 minutes to run the card. Rating Descriptions Food Quality = 5 Food Service = 2-3 (based on the most recent visit) Food Pricing = 4 Staff Personality = 5 Overall = 4 We'll be back when in the area next time, but hopefully the food preparation is timed better next time based on what was ordered. It would have been completely fine to bring both foods later, but it isn't acceptable to have one sitting around either under a heat lamp (or getting cold) while one food is being prepared. Food must be timed in such a way they can be brought to the table together.
(4)Raul T.
Do not get fooled by the ratings on this app. The pizza is inconsistent. I'm disappointed sometimes and others I am pleased. Service is good besides that another average pizza spot.
(3)Juana E.
Love this place!!! Food is fresh, and delicious! Service is awesome, great to hangout or to go if not they will deliver!! Just as good as my favorite NYC pizza!! A Lil costly but it's worth it!! If you love Italian food this is a great place to enjoy!
(5)Ivy R.
You know I used to love this place I thought this place was phenomenal but they took so long to deliver my order that a it started to get a little bit ridiculous and I hate to have to take it out on the pizza delivery boy and stiff him a tip. But I've been waiting so long that I'm actually really pissed off. The food is awesome but if you're hungry you have to wait up at least about two hours. And I don't think that's cool
(3)Viviana C.
I absolutly loooove Mama Romano's. In my opinion they have the best pizza in town. The pasta is always fresh their sauces too. Their wings are great. Their stuffed pizza and strombolis are absolutly incredible, and the wraps are all really good. I have had only good experience with them and if you call to pick up the order is ready at the time they tell you.
(5)Lyn C.
Immediately after landing in MCO, we were starving and pizza sounded like a good idea. Thanks to yelp we found Mama Rom's. Although we came for pizza, it was my least favorite thing we ate. Mushrooms are my favorite topping and the mushrooms here were the worst part. Tap water was the second worst. The restaurant was pretty empty at first, but definitely started filling up towards the end of our meal. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We got: Garlic knots- large and garlicy Italian wings- MUST GET! Pizza- mushroom and something. Doesn't matter, I've repressed it. I'd say 3.5 stars but rounded up for the wings! WINNER WINNER, ITALIAN WINGS DINNER!
(4)Dulce B.
I have Been eating at this establishment for the last four years. The food is excellent. The taste is consistent. There Pena a la vodka is excellent. The sauce makes every meal taste good. I recommend this restaurant for delicious Italian food. Great Pizza and amazing salads variety.
(4)Shane S.
Placed an order for delivery and was quoted an hour and 45 mins for delivery. After 3 hours I called back and they said the driver should be there any minute. 30 mins later I called back and the said the driver was at the house and was told we didn't order any delivery and that they were now closed and couldn't do anything for me. I called back the next day and spoke to the manager who would do absolutely nothing for me basically saying I was lying about their driver going to the wrong house. Worst service I have every had.
(1)Tamila F.
The food is good, but we find that consistently the food takes forever to arrive. The restaurant really needs to work on the time it takes to get entrees to customers.
(2)Matt M.
This is about as good as a small family place can get! I've lived down the road for a couple years, and barely even knew this place was there. I guess it being on the other side of Publix from where I drive in might have played a part. Finally tried it out this Labor Day and had a great experience. The in-laws went with my wife & baby and we were treated to an amazing lunch. From the garlic knots (YUM) to the various pizzas most of us ordered to my $9 HUGE creamy pesto chicken bowtie pasta, it was all good. Excellent service as well!
(5)Efrain B.
The food is good, but the service extremely slow; not to mention the sub par customer service. I was driving home from work and have them a call when I was 20 mins out to place an order. I was going to pick it up on the way home. They answer the phone and asked me of they could place me on hold and put me on hold before I could answer. 2 mins, 5 mins, 15 mins, 20 mins and they still had me on hold. I got to the restaurant thinking it was going to be a madhouse, but it was about half full. I went to the front and spoke with the lady (who wasn't on the phone) and advised her that I've been on hold for 20 mins and no one answered. She looked at me, ignored my question, and asked me if she can help me. I asked her if she heard my question and she just asked again if she can help me (with an attitude mind you). I told her "Nope. Goodbye" I've been here before and the food is pretty good, but their service is downright horrible. I'm a big proponent of small business, but Mama Romanos leaves me no choice but to go to a large chain with basic customer service skills.
(1)Judy D.
My husband and I eat here religiously every week for a couple years now. We have tried just about everything on the menu. We can't say enough about how good the food is. The selection of entrees, pizzas, calzones. Just absolutely delicious. The service is awesome. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. For a small neighborhood restaurant the food tastes 5 star. Don't let the strip mall location fool you ... this place is AWESOME!!!
(5)Mariah S.
I love this place! Favorite spot to eat at with my parents. It is a small business, and mistakes have happened, but I've never been more pleased by the way management handles those mistakes. Food does usually take a long time to come out, but I think it's well worth waiting for. Plus they are always willing and able to fulfill my special dietary needs.
(5)Cliff W.
Highly disappointed with this place. The couple times we've ordered delivery they have messed up our order. They send the wrong stuff each time. I understand on busy days but listen to what we are ordering. Please take the time to write the order down correctly. Some people have allergens and can't eat dairy. When we say no cheese its means all cheese, parmesan falls in the cheese category. At least the manager or whoever we deal with said we would be refunded and delivered our 3rd attempted pizza for free. All in all I'm not impressed with the way this business is run. The only good thing is them actually refunding our money.
(1)Tara N.
Love this place!! Great service, awesome food. I eat there about 3 times a month and I have not ordered anything I didn't like
(5)Michael R.
Cute little place to get reasonably good Italian. Looks like a little market on the inside. Staples like Pizza and Spaghetti are pretty good. Main complaint is the service. In restaurant wait staff was ok, but the register team needs work. They are a bit slow and not very helpful when calling in an order.
(3)Matt A.
We recently had Mama Romano's cater our charity special event. The food, the service, and their attention to detail was exceptional! We hosted over 100 guests at our event and received numerous comments about how wonderful the food was! We had house salad, the famous garlic knots, cheese and pepperoni pizza, fettuccine alfredo, linguine marinara, and the baked ziti for our guests. Kudos to Paul, Josh, and the staff! We will definitely be using Mama Romano's again for catering our future events! We'll be visiting the restaurant soon for a great meal out! I highly recommend Mama Romano's!
(5)Tim m.
Great food. Great environment. We started off with a combo appetizer that was the size of an entire meal..... With leftovers good for a week. If you plan to go there ask for the waitress Jasmine. She was wonderful! We had the lasagna (which you can customize) and a calzone (which is the world's biggest calzone). Everything was wonderful. We live 30 minutes away and can't wait to come back. It's worth the drive!
(5)Rhea P.
So, I decided to visit again, this time in person instead of take away. Man, this is some really incredible pizza. I simply ordered one with spinach and mushroom, and it was really tasty. I enjoy the sit down environment here. Looking at the open kitchen, the ingredients for sale, and the atmosphere. The service is very friendly, and the prices are really reasonable for the quality and the amount of food given. I am not that much of a pizza person, but should the occasional mood strike once more, I will definitely hit this place up again. Yes, they deliver.
(4)Scott S.
I went here while searching for a baked ziti pizza. Mama Romano's had one so I figured I would give them a shot. It was pretty good. When I called I asked what sizes they had and the girl on the phone said they only had a small. So I ordered it. After picking up my pizza I grabbed a menu and realized that it also came in a large size. I would have totally ordered the bigger size had I known because I love left overs.
(4)Jessica S.
I ordered via the telephone from chicago for a baby shower that I was hosting in Orlando and the process was easy. The food was delicious and most affordable in the area. Thank you mama Romanos.
(4)Carla R.
It will take you craving for Italian away, but the pastas were average. The location is not the best. With the smoke shop besides it, weird things happen outside. An Italian friend recommended the Sicilian. Maybe I'll have better luck with that next time, if there is a next time.
(3)Todd F.
Have ordered pizza from here before and it's always been delivered fast and fresh. Tonight it was not. Upon calling to inform them my pizza was cold the manager immediately offered to make a second pizza. Didn't have to argue or fight about it. That is the kind of service and customer care all restaurants should have. What could have been an instance that would have kept me from going back turned into an experience that will keep me coming back.
(4)Wendy O.
Pizza is REAL good, i come from New England so i can say i have high standards with pizza and i was surprised!
(4)Jessica L.
I love this place! I enjoyed the busy atmosphere for my first visit at this restaurant. That was a good indication that the food was good. Good indeed! It's a little pricier than I anticipated but it's worth it for fresh pizza and wings. The owner was very friendly and that definitely adds to the positive review. I can't wait to go again and try different dishes.
(3)Ryan H.
Mama Romano's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria has much better food than you might assume by its location in a strip mall in southern Orlando, not far from the airport. They also have a large menu that includes beer and wine and even expands beyond traditional Italian food and into chicken wings. They have a lot of appetizers, and I recommend a variation of their garlic rolls. These rolls are served as standard garlic rolls, or they can be stuffed with cheese or cheese and pepperoni. While I haven't tried any of their other appetizers, I just can't imagine that it gets much better than these. I tried them stuffed with cheese, and they were fantastic. The garlic and seasoning was strong and delicious, and the rolls were basically sliced in half and had gooey cheese inserted. Already off to a strong start, next I tried Mama Romano's Al Fresco pizza on regular crust and their Calabrese on a Sicilian crust. I found both crusts to be light and all toppings to be flavorful. If I had to choose one, I would go with the Al Fresco on regular crust, because it contained the same garlic that won me over on their garlic rolls, and I found the Sicilian to be a little too doughy. With the delicious garlic, diced tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and mozzarella cheese, the Al Fresco was almost like a combination of bruschetta and pizza. Based on my experience, I am pretty confident that most would enjoy almost anything they order from Mama Romano's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria.
(3)Kevin B.
Great food, slow service. If you have the time then this is the place to go! The good has always been top notch in my opinion, though the wait times can be crazy. Their meatball lovers pizza is my absolute favorite to get there! Full of flavor and just the right amount of toppings. I would give them more stars if the service and kitchen were faster. Heck, I'd even go there a lot more!!
(3)David A.
I was promised a phone call back from the owner after someone from their establishment ignored my 'no soliciting" sign and left a leaflet from them and also damaged property before leaving.
(1)Mariella M.
Love it. Great food and great pizza. Definitely my go to Italian place. I prefer to order over the phone and just do take out because they tend to take long but the wait is worth it!
(5)Arlene A.
Best pizza around!!!! I'm from New York area and been searching for homelike pizza for a while! This place really is a gem hidden in a strip mall!!
(5)Dark U.
The food and service here sucks. Save your money and go somewhere else. They drown the food in pesto. I was there for a pick up and it took them around half an hour to give me my food that was on top of the oven plus the tiramasu was frozen in the center. There were 10 employees vs 4 dinners and two people in front of me...half an hour wait with the food already done???!!
(1)Nunya B.
This is my wife's and my new go-to place for great authentic Italian food!
(5)Jazmin I.
I wanted to take my little brothers somewhere close and yummy. I've seen the restaurant around their neighborhood and gave it a try. It's super yummy. I love pizza and it was a meat lovers pie. We all enjoyed the pizza and had the wings and mozzarella sticks. Also our server was great. His name is Sean. He was super attentive and helpful with our choices. He was great. Will definitely go back.
(5)Jensy F.
I have been to this place a few times in the last four months. The first was after my daughters kindergarten graduation ceremony. I asked her what she wanted and it was pizza. Our waitress had a huge smile and was very attentive. I ordered an extra large cheese pizza for the two girls, two adults and me. My mother ordered two separate slices fully loaded. The waitress recommended the knots and we ordered six of them. The pizza like the service was excellent. The garlic knots which the waitress recommended were the best I had. I never look at prices when I order as I believe that will ruin the meal. When I got the bill I had to call over the waitress to make sure it was correct. I could not believe the quality and quantity for the price.
(5)Meghan S.
This place is phenomenal. I've lived 1 mile away for 4 years and somehow never ate here. They've got great prices, and great specials. You can even order via Yelp! But caution if you order online: if it is a busy day (like a Friday or Saturday) CALL in your order. The online system can get overwhelmed and the order doesn't go through. Like mine. I ordered online, waited 20 minutes, then went to pick up my order. The order had not even gotten to them yet. So I had to wait another 30 minutes for my food to be cooked. The manager waved the fee to upgrade my salads to Greek though, so they take care of you and want your repeat business. Onto the food, so good. The Greek side salad, omg, I can't describe the deliciousness. I had a stuffed slice of pizza. Again I say, omg. Everything is made in house and so so good. Never again will I order from a chain pizza store (you know the ones I'm talking about), this is now my go to pizza place! Also had the honey garlic wings. Is it too much to say omg again? Because that's how I feel about all their food! Can't wait to go back!
(5)Stephanie C.
Absolutely stellar! I have eaten here three times with various members of my family and everyone has loved it each and every time. The food is authentic, flavorful and plentiful. The waitstaff have always been friendly and professional. Don't be put off by the location in a shopping center, the food is terrific!
(5)Mary Ann L.
Traveling from Pa stopped for lunch after the flight. The food was outstanding ...lunch special was doo amazing. Loved the waiter. 5 STAR.
(5)David S.
Very good pizza, quick and great service. We did takeout but the place seemed very nice, open kitchen and cozy. There was a mixup with their coupons (make sure to check them out) and Josh worked it out nicely, thanks so much.
(5)Mike B.
We ate pizza for of our first visit. We will be back to try other dishes because everything was great!
(5)Rick M.
I must say this is an unbelievable place for lunch , there's no way you can get this kind of lunch for 6 .99 . What the other reviews say is true . Not only inexpensive but good . Today I had a waiter name David who was outstanding. Great place
(5)Jeff W.
We used yelp to order online. Pretty awesome. Good food, good service and it was all ready for us as a pickup order. We will be return customers.
(4)Prof J.
this italian food joint proves that hole in the walls top franchises. Service was good, the food was delicious, hot and well prepared and filling! and the lunch specials were fair. By the way, the Garlic Knots are BOMB.COM. There were TVs in the place so you don't miss any news. The decor was casual and restrooms were OK. It is definitely worth trying more than once.
(4)Miguel R.
I am updating my review and leaving one star, maybe that'll get someones attention. First of all I love mama romanos pizza, i really do but, heres the thing. They take forever to deliver and the past few months they just gotten worse. Heres how much worse they've gotten, today I ordered a pizza "it's friday so, I'm expecting to wait a good hour maybe a little more" it was 7:04 when I placed the order, the pizza got to my door at 9:05 not only did it took 2 hours to get here but it was also frozen cold and had to put it on the oven. So, for me it will be a while before I order again, but i will eventually just not anytime soon.
(1)Nick G.
Ate here for the first time and I was impressed. The garlic knots were crispy and garlicky like they should be. Tried a medium plain pizza and it was thin and crispy with a good taste. Being from NY it's very hard to find good pizza in Orlando and as of now Mama Romano's is at the top of the list. The service was great also, I will definitely be back.
(4)Mrs H.
We love Mama Romano's. Everything we have had is excellent from the pizza to the antipasto salad to the many clam dishes. My only issue has been the take out cashier. I walked back in 3 different times to get our complete order. Then our next visit our order if wings was given away to the wrong customer. The food more than makes up for the mistakes. We will continue to go back and enjoy the delicious food.
(4)Robyn H.
I found Mama Romano's really inviting and really delicious. It is more comfortably decorated than most strip mall pizza joints, it certainly feels like a restaurant more than tale out. The service was super helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic, the pizza dough was great. I had a calzone and the marinara it was served with tasted fresh and simple, perfect. I will definitely be visiting again and recommending them to friends and neighbors!
(5)Scott S.
We've been looking for a neighborhood Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant ever since we moved from South Florida almost 3 years ago and we could never find a place with NY style pizza and great sauce. We finally found our place in Mama Romano's. The decor is nice, but there is no mistaking this is a no frills family restaurant...nothing wrong with that. This was the perfect environment for our family of five where we don't have to worry about the kids being too loud. There are a couple of flat screen TV's on the wall with College Football on and the kids could watch pizza being made behind the counter. My wife, my 10 year old daughter and I each got the $6.99 special with a soup or salad, slice of cheese pizza and a half sandwich (we all opted for the chicken parm). My 7 year old daughter and my 2 year old son shared the 2 slice special. Soups are made fresh and their take on the pasta fagioli was great with nice size pieces of bacon and lots of pasta and beans. Only down side was the soup was not quite hot enough (possibly because it was so early in the day). My wife had the chicken with Spinach soup and she thought it was very tasty. We opted for a half dozen garlic rolls and the server Brianna was kind enough to accommodate our special request for 3 with garlic and 3 plain for our 2 year old. After my seven year old dropped her roll on the floor Brianna brought 2 more and saved the day. The pizza slices are reminiscent of the great pizza we've had in New York. The dough was hand tossed and baked to a perfect thin slightly crisp crust, not too crunchy. Lots of hot and gooey mozzarella. Brianna had pepperoni added to the kid's slices at no extra charge. The slices were so big that out of the 5 slices, we only ate 2 and a half between the 5 of us. No kidding, they were huge! The chicken parm subs were awesome, just the right amount of sauce and cheese and the bread was still nice and soft. After the meal we met John the owner's son and found out that this is a family owned business. Out server Brianna was friendly, attentive and made us feel right at home. I would definitely ask for her again. The food was great and what an amazing value to feed a family of five for under $40 with tons of leftovers! We will definitely be back to Mama Romano's.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times. Service is consistent and food tastes great. For the first time I ordered take out pizza and was happy with what I got. Tasty and gone is one night thanks to me and my hungry friends.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I just waited for 2 HOURS for a pizza and cannolis that I ordered. I called an hour after my order to find out when the pizza would be delivered and the person over the phone told me that the delivery person just left and he would be at my house "any minute now". I live literally ONE block away from Mama Romano's. I call 30 minutes later asking what the hold up was and they couldn't answer, I was just told someone would be at my house soon. I wait another 17 minutes and the delivery person arrives at my house, and my pizza is lukewarm. I called Mama Romano's to tell them that I just waited almost 2 hours for lukewarm pizza and I was told that if I paid for that pizza they'd give me the next one free. Umm.... No. I am NOT paying for cold pizza, I mean seriously?! I sent the food back, horrified at such poor service, and called A Slice of NY Pizza Hunter's Creek Fl and ordered from there. I asked them how long their delivery would be and explained what happened and the super nice guy at the other end of the line said that they have a policy that if your pizza doesn't arrive within 45 minutes its on them... Now that's a guarantee that your pizza will arrive hot and on time. I will NEVER order from Mama Romano's EVER again! This is my LAST time, I will NEVER make the same mistake again!

I went yesterday with my brother for lunch, as we are searching for great pizza and rolls. Right off the bat we got in, sat down and waited for a while before we were even acknowledged by the two girls working there. A family and couple girls came after us and they were helped before us. This was very annoying. We finally get our menus and order two slices special and 6 rolls. The rolls are FANTASTIC perfectly made, crunchy, right amount of oil and garlic but the slices while they were big - it was no big thing and not worth $2.50 on their own. The service was shit, the pizza was alright - even tho the rolls were perfect they could not salvage the bad lunch experience.

Yummy! Great daily deals!! Sometimes they are slow and get overwhelmed by the orders, but its really good food!

Service was good. Food was disappointing. Had the chicken parm dinner.

What a find after 11 years of living in Southchase. Wide selection good food, reasonable prices. Large servings. Had a great time with three couples.

This is our go to pizza joint. Super tasty, fresh, and delicious. We always prefer this place to any big chain pizza place and they deliver. Also- the wings..gotta try them. We always get the Francaise style and order fresh garlic on them as well. The garlic knots with pepperoni in them..forget about it! Super. The kids love them. Also they have specials every day and coupons on the take home menu so they are super reasonable. Now for the not so great stuff...Sometimes you have to wait a while for your order delivery...so don't order when you are starving. Also, I have had several times where I have ordered one style of wings and they give me a total other kind. They are all good but if you have your heart set on Francaise style it sucks to get Buffalo. Those are the only two things keeping me from giving this spot 5 stars.

I ordered 4 cheese pizzas, Coke and a Sprite to be delivered. They arrived in thirty minutes, which was pretty impressive considering they said an hour. However, the pizza was cold and the sodas were hot and both coke. The pizza tasted like greasy cardboard. I recommend if you ever want to punish your stomach. I'll never order from there again.

Went into the restaurant itself on a stormy evening, Restaurant.com coupon in hand, with the expectation of a typical generic hole-in-wall pizza place. Instead, those words ended up being eaten, along with one of the best Italian meals Central FL has to offer. The staff consisted of one sweet little waitress, and almost a half dozen bustling people behind the counter. Taking orders on the phone, making bread in front of you, tossing pizzas and calzones into their giant oven and nabbing ingredients off shelves located around the restaurant. They used the cans of crushed tomatoes, bottles of olive oil and other common Italian food items as part of the decor itself. As opposed to keeping it hidden out of site in some dry storage room in the back. Really cool quirk, if you ask me. I ended up ordering the early bird special (before 6pm): That came with a drink or Barney's coffee, your choice of 17 different main courses, garlic bread, choice between soup or salad, and dessert. Prices varied on the course you get ($10-16), seafood being the priciest. I ended up going with the linguine with a fresh red clam sauce. Now, their salad was good, contrary to previous mention, their garlic bread is AWESOME and the dessert (fresh chocolate cake) was acceptable. What I wasn't expecting was just how good my main course ended up actually coming out: A bushel of fresh clams, perched atop a bed of pasta, smothered in one of the best tomato sauces I've had in a very long time. There was no fishiness to the clams whatsoever, just hints of roasted garlic and oregano. Since this first experience, I've also been to their other location, off of Narcoossee Road, and I can vouch that both are equally exceptional in quality and service. Apparently their delivery service leaves something to be desired, but I doubt I can find a better Italian meal anywhere else in Central FL, for the price. Go see, and enjoy, for yourself!

Good pizza and Good appetizer overall good experience but service is slow even with delivery

Food is good, service both in the restaurant and for pickup is very slow. They just need more help, it's a popular little neighborhood pizzeria. Their calzones are good, also love some of their pasta dishes, but most entrees totally depend on who is working in the kitchen.

When this place first opened it was fantastic. This place was where i first tried pasta fagioli and it was super yummy...if the owner has made it. The owner was the kind of guy that would walk around and ask how the food is. Now maybe it was his slicked back hair or rough around the edges in that new yogk way but i would have told him the food was fantastic no matter what. Course the food was fantastic which is good because i think the guy woulda been able to sniff out a liar. For a little while i stopped going because the place could be inconsistent. Sometimes it would take FOR-E-VER for the order to come up for take out. They used to make the tiramisu themselves and it was absolutely the best ive ever had but they no longer make, it comes ready made and its bleh. The people I've taken here that are from new York say the pizzas really are on par with the real thing. There's s little Asian server that is super nice and will make sure ur dining experience is spectacular. Overall, the food is consistently good, the setting is nice, I'm a repeat client but you might have to deal with some wait time. Try out their menu they've got lots of items, and they're all good. I've had the pizza (the sausage is soo good), some spicy pasta, the eggplant rolls, chicken scallopini, some fish dish and the list goes on...

The pizza here is great. They get the crust really crispy and the sauce is made in house. Fresh and delicious. I wish I had more to go on than the pizza, but that's all I've tried so far. It's definitely worth a second trip.

Great pizza. A lil bit pricy, but overall very tasty!

Well I never post comments about a place we try but this place was the exception. We're in Orlando checking on my mom, we were out running errands and it was time to eat. The usual dilemma of what eat. Turned to my favorite app to see what's around. Found this place and reviews were pretty good. So we tried. OMG! This hole in the wall next to a supermarket, in a shopping center was amazing. The staff was great. Courteous , quick, and knew the menu. The place was clean and had good vibes. Tried the pizza, sliders, rollatini, calamari , lasagna, and even the cheese filled garlic knots were amazing. We used to be loyal followers of Buca Di Beppo in NC and Fla and I can honestly say this was better. Very fresh tasting food. The marinara was obviously home made and the pasta was great. Nothing to complain about. Fantastic first impression. Thank you to the previous reviewers and to the staff here. Ready to try it again.

PROS: 1. Taste - This is one great pizza. Enough said. 2. Size: - LOVE their 20" pizza, it's HUGE. My wife and I are small, and one of these is perfect. 3. Specials - Monday you can get an extra large 20" DELIVERED for only 9.95 (plus tip). CONS: 1, Forget about getting one of their pies on a Friday or Sat in the late afternoon or evening. They get extremely busy, and are apparently understaffed at those times. You will be on hold a long , long time. If you are patient enough to get through, delivery goes from 45 min to over an hour.

We were looking for a new place to try and like many Yelpers I found this restaurant through restaurant.com and got a great coupon deal. I wasn't sure what to expect...you never know since it was in a strip mall..I saw the menu online and saw they had pizza takeout as well as an extensive Italian menu. We went on a Sunday afternoon and so the restaurant was slow. The decor is cute and very clean. It has an open kitchen which is nice because you can see that the kitchen is clean as well and always fun to watch the chefs at work. We tried both the Caesar salad (which was .$50 extra and I'll never understand how this charge started coming about and now a lot of restaurants do it.) and the pasta fagolioli soup. Both of these were average. The garlic knots brought fresh to the table were fantastic, fresh and clearly homemade. We had the clams for an appetizer and they were great too! Perfect to dip the bread in. We tried the Veal Francese and the Veal Sorrentino. Both were excellent. We were very impressed by the quality of the cooking and the fresh ingredients. The chef clearly knows what he is doing! Both entrees were served with a side of pasta which were actually brought out before the entrees as a pasta course. For that we tried the Alfredo and it was super. It's one of our favorites and so often it's not done well so a great and was a big portion. Instead of pasta for one side we ordered a substitution of veggies which they had no problem doing. It was also a big portion, fresh and fabulous. Will we didn't try the pizza I saw it being served and looked great. They also have a bread bowl salad on the menu and that looked yummy. It's a LARGE, freshly baked bread bowl with salad served inside and would probably feed 4 people. They serve wine and beer but only house wine and not a great one at that. I'm guessing they don't have a lot of people asking for more of a choice but when I got home my head was telling me I should have skipped my glass because it was pounding. My only improvement for Mama's to work on would be the service. the server we had was very ho-hum. Didn't talk much or seemed to happy to be there. She really didn't talk a lot about the menu and we were had a few questions. If she would have had a personality the meal would have been complete. Maybe an off day? Not sure. At any rate, coupon or not, we will return to this restaurant and I suggest you try it if you get the chance.

Whenever we are in the area (which is 3-4 times a year), we make sure to visit Mama Romano's. It is a neighborhood pizza joint with fresh, hand-tossed pizza. The large and extra large pizzas are HUGE and cut in pie-shape (the way pizza should be cut IMO) and the slices are big! The crust is perfectly done--not to soft, not too crisp. Probably some of the best pizza one can find in Orlando. The atmosphere is cozy. Sometimes the music is just a little loud, but not overpowering. I visited again today for a late lunch. They have a carry-out special on a large pizza on Tuesdays (and Monday's too, I believe); I walked in to order and they told me I could actually dine-in, so that's what I choose to do (good move on their part because I did end up ordering more than just a pizza). The server was very friendly and attentive. If you are looking for good, handmade pizza venture away from the cookie-cutter franchises and give this place a try. You won't be sorry.

We absolutely love Mama Romano's. We order from there often for delivery and the pizza and rolls are amazing every time! We have had great service and the people have been very nice. Love it!!!

The best Alfredo I ever had in my life...very smooth and creamy. Not heavy and perfect pasta. My son loved the pizza and wanted to order more. My personal favorite was the cannoli!

Insanely delicious food!

Very good food (love the calzones) and they are always super friendly. They give my toddler a ball of pizza dough to play with to keep him entertained and when he was younger, would bring him plain rolls instead of garlic knots. They even remembered him on a return visit and brought him the rolls without us asking.
