If you want a decent Chinese place for the price and on a college budget then this is the place for you! Definitely not the best Chinese I've ever had but with the prices they have the food lives up to those. Being on a college budget it helps that they are able to offer the Lunch Combination special for UCF students through lunch and dinner so it is a great deal! I have eaten here multiple times and it always curves my hunger. Overall a good place and I will definitely be returning.

I gave high rate because they give so much food for $6.25! I used to complain because they give so much and still today so they cut my food in half! But if you are on a budget, you can come here! Spend $6.25. Eat hall for lunch and have the other half for another meal! Super! The stir fry string beans is awesome!

Disappointing This review is based off of two take-out experiences. I came here one night to order their "House Special Soup" to-go and came home with a not very satisfying meal. Every Chinese place that I've ordered "House Special Soup" from, it comes with a good mixture of vegetables, shrimp, pork and wontons. Their soup however had no meat, wontons or shrimp, just soggy vegetables. I was extremely disappointed because at $6 almost $7, I expect to get more than dissatisfying rabbit food in a salty broth. I wanted to give this place another go so just the other night I ordered a wonton soup and General Tso's chicken which came with fried rice and an egg roll. Everything seemed tasteless and old. The soup's broth was really, really salty and didn't even have scallions. Some of the chicken pieces had cartilage still attached so that was an unpleasant surprise when bitting into them. The rice didn't have any pieces of pork or peas or onions like most places. It didn't taste great and I ended up not eating most of the food. The people that runt the business are extremely nice and that's why I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1.

We have been going to Luya's for 3 years now. It's our trusted place for Chinese food. We have tried their pork, shrimp, chicken and combination fried rice and it's delicious. The quality of their food is great! I recommend it to everyone.

The family running the restaurant are very friendly. The food is not very expensive. UCF students can have whole day lunch combo, which is really good deal. I usually order Sichuan shrimp or pork garlic sauce because they have very authentic Chinese flavor. I also love the Rangoon they cooked.

I FOUND A BANDAID IN MY FOOD, WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE. When I asked the manager for a refund, she called the police and they had to convince her to give a refund. DO NOT GO HERE

I ordered pick up meal and had the sweet and sour chicken even though it was dinner time they offer UCF students the lunch special at any time of the day which is good, especially since they are directly across UCF. Food overall was typical Chinese food. My meal came with soup or egg roll and I had the the wonton soup and it was good. I only wish the fried rice had vegetables on it. First time I see fried rice with only scrambled eggs in it

The first time I ordered from this place, I thought it was great considering I am a college student on a budget! The second time I ordered Luya, the rice felt like it had been sitting in a bucket for over 24 hours and was crunchy and inedible. A couple of days ago, my friends all decided to get Luya and I agreed because I wanted to give them another shot. This time I ordered the orange chicken and it was sub par, the chicken was so beyond spicy that my girlfriend could barely talk for about an hour! The chicken itself wasn't spicy, but there were 2 giant chilis just laying in the food and it was definitely not edible because everything that the chili touched was hot. This time though the rice was for sure better. Also, my friend always orders an egg roll and expects to have an egg roll; yet he always he gets a spring roll! Even when we specifically tell them that we want an egg roll with meat inside, all he gets is veggies. Even though the food isn't that bad, the UCF student discount is great, it is definitely not worth it!

Luya is great for UCF students, who can get the lunch menu prices anytime of the day. It tastes like any other Chinese place but that's not a bad thing. I had the chicken and broccoli and it was good, plus their was ample amounts of chicken which is a problem at some other oriental restaurants in the area. Had the steamed dumplings as well which were excellent. If you're looking for chinese food in the UCF area Luya is your best bet.

Completely awful. Went there for the lunch special hoping for good, cheap chinese and came back with regret. ALL of the food seemed old/gross and everything I got was cold and tasteless. Literally no positives here. Don't bother.

Fellow patrons this is the 2nd part to my 1st review, PLEASE READ!! I wish this was an over exaggeration on this situation but it IS the truth!! Doesn't matter if I ate half, whole or a quarter of the meal if I am an unsatisfied customer, you as an owner have to make it right!!! I have been ordering for several years and this was only the 1st time I complained after having other bad food from your restaurant. No worries you will never have my business again or anyone else who I know that goes to this place to dine!

Still the best take-out General Tso's I've ever ordered. The atmosphere is fantastic and the family who runs it is even better. It's great for groups. No Discover card.

I can't speak to the quality of the dinner options, since I came here for lunch and ordered the lunch buffet. What we have here for lunch is pretty standard fast food Chinese fare, what with the Bourbon Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, and the various other selections that taste exactly the same regardless of which mall food court you happen to be visiting. The lunch buffet [see photo] gives you the option of rice or noodles, and then you can select either 2 or 3 entrees to fill out the remainder. I chose 2 entrees, resulting in more than enough food for me [see photo]. Is it special? Not particularly. If you've eaten at any of these types of places, you already know what to expect -- it will be exactly that. But at just over $5 for my plate of food, it's a pretty good deal. All told, with my big plate and a drink, the total came out to under $7.50. And when I took my plate from the lady behind the counter, she said, "If it's not enough just come back and I'll give you more." That's pretty cool, even though there's no way I'd be comfortable eating even more than I did!

Very disappointed, first and last time there!! Ordered beef w brocoly, Everything was bad. Rice tasted old. After all the good reviews I thought it was a good place for lunch.

I agree with other reviewers that the lunch special is excellent. I get plenty of good food and it is the fastest way to pick something up fast. The Bourbon chicken seems to be my go to from the lunch special but for pick up for my whole family I love both the sweet and sour chicken, and the double fried pork. The other meals I have had from them seem pretty standard, but these two meals are a step above you average chinese takeout. My wife may even have a text from me when we were considering moving away from Orlando that "we cannot move now, I would have to find a new double fried pork as good as Luya"

Decent Chinese food near UCF. It's good when you need a bite in the area, but it's not my go-to. Sometimes we'll order for pick-up and they'll take a bit longer than expected. The dinner combination is a nice deal, and I always enjoy their egg drop soup.

Ordered for delivery. I'm in Oviedo and it took about 45 minutes to get the order. We ordered pork fried rice, beef and broccoli, and chicken lo mein with egg rolls. The egg rolls were delicious but I had to request duck sauce. No utensils but I didn't need any. Pork fried rice was amazing with the beef&broccoli on top. The meat was a little chewy but fine.

The family that owns this restaurant near UCF is really, really nice. Food portions are very generous. The lunch buffet has great variety. My favorite dish is the General Tso chicken which is AMAZING!

Seriously disappointed in the quality of the food here. I just moved here from out of state and thought by seeing all these great ratings I couldn't lose. I was wrong. Whether the reason being I got a bad batch of egg rolls, shrimp lo mein, boneless spare ribs, chicken teriyaki, and chicken wings or I just have plain had better. Everything was DRY and tasteless. I will not be eating here again nor will I ever recommend this place. I felt it way toooo expensive as well for dinner. I also waited over an hour for it to be delivered. Very disappointed!

I am a fan because they are great for lunch. They have a low lunch price that can get you more than enough food to satisfy your Asian cravings. Their food also tastes better than your average american-chinese take out place.

As a New York native I have searched far and wide for delicious Chinese food. I love the food at Luya. I'd recommend take-out as the inside can get filled with college kids (but, their in-house dining is incredibly fast). My favorite is their General Tso's. They're great about accommodating to your requests. I always ask for extra spicy and extra sauces and have never been disappointed. The dinner portions are large and their lunch menu is a steal.

Yummy yummmy in my tummy~~~ Just want to reiterate my fondness for this place. One thing I want to tell every one here is don't expect your authentic Chinese food from a small town in China. This is Americanize Chinese food and its great! They do have a eggplant dish which is always tasty and that I can tell you is one of the things you can eat in China. The rest is your normal american general tso or chicken and broccoli but don't bash me for liking it because it still taste good! Its a whole lot better than Asian Chao or whatever stuff they got selling at Publix Chinese food bar down the street. Also, its like 5 bucks and change!

This spot is a great lunch area for those wanting to spend $10 or less for a filling lunch. Other than choosing from a menu, they have a lunch buffet where you can select 2 or 3 entrees which includes either white rice, fried rice, or lo mein and a small fried donut :). I got the 2 entree deal and chose the eggplant and broccoli chicken. They gave out more rice than the entrees itself. Anyways, It wasn't the tastiest I have ever had nor it was the nastiest I have ever had. Pretty bland, but it was still ok for the price (better than panda express imo). I got a tummy ache after though :( ... Just a note though, this is americanized chinese food, but its decent compared to panda express.

Love the food here! The restaurant is a lovely little family restaurant, the owner is very warm and friendly. The food is fresh and delicious. I love the general taso chicken, better than other restaurants, it's definitely worth it to give it a try.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
