You know, spending a whole day walking around Universal Studios is TIRING business. We were blessed with mild weather but still, my throat was parched. We spotted this outdoor bar on our way to the parking lot and the sign "HAPPY HOUR FROM 3pm-5pm" was written in bright green letters so it was hard to ignore. Don't mind the slew of "premium" cocktails enticing you to go for a strawberry daiquiri or a mai tai. Really, I wasn't about to surrender $10 a drink when I can get tipsy faster with $4 margies! Have TWO! I know it tastes cheap (every margarita tastes cheap if you've had the REAL thing at Tommy's Mexican Resto in SF!) but our all business, no smiles bartender filled my glass halfway with Margaritaville's tequila. Oi vey! I like her! She says that it gets crazy busy during happy hour, so she doesn't start smiling til after 5pm. To experience the maximum effects of your cheap margie, drink on an empty stomach. Shoot, I did. I wasn't about to spend $13.99 on nachos anyway!

Lone Palm Airport is the outdoor tiki bar across the walkway from Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Cafe. Get your Land Shark Lager on tap and your nachoes piled high. Perfect place to watch the crowds coming in and out of Islands of Adventure. In the evening, the tables closest to the lagoon offer a spectacular view CityWalk. By the way, that is Jimmy Buffett's actual plane sitting behind the tiki bar. And yes, it is the plane you've heard about in Jimmy's song Jamaica Mistaica.

Great place to grab a drink and some wings. The staff is good, they have a great happy hour and the people watching is priceless

This outdoor bar is situated across from Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. It is a full bar, that also serves some light snacks (i.e. hotdogs, nachos, and wings). On their menu they have quite a few signature mixed drinks (frozen and on the rocks). On New Years Day we had gone to City Walk to meet some friends who wanted to try Emeril's. While the friends were finishing their last ride in Universal we decided to order a drink at the Lone Palm. My husband ordered a Rum Runner, it was around 8.95$ and I think had more ice than drink...but it was good none the less. I at first ordered something called a Havana Banana which had a lot of rum and banana and coconut liquor. The drink was frozen, and maybe this is where my mistake was...it tasted like nothing but ice. It was like drinking a flavorless Slurpee. We quickly alerted our server, and she had the bartender remake the drink. The second one was a bit better, but still did not have any flavor. The waitress who was SUPER nice made me a different drink on our third try which was a major improvement...I think it may have been called a "cocoloco" (also around 8.95$). Either way it was on the rocks and way better. Overall, the service I experienced was great, but I definitely will stay away from frozen drinks here.

My husband and I live nearby, and we've been coming here for years. The staff is, bar none (pun intended, hurr hurr) fantastic. This IS a theme park bar so it does get incredibly busy, but all of the bartenders know their stuff and not only work incredibly hard, but very fast, so just wait your turn and you'll get served in order. It's a great place to relax on a bar stool right near the parks themselves and city walk, although since it's outdoors at certain times of the year you need to be prepared for it to be chilly and windy. Overall, with great specials, a full liquor selection if you don't want any of their mixed drinks, and the best staff ever, this is not only the best bar at Universal Studios, but easily one of the best ones around period. If only they had more food!

This is a small outdoor bar near Margaritaville. There are daily happy hour specials and a decent assortment of draught beer. Prices are fairly reasonable for an amusement park, especially during happy hour.

Hands down coolest place on the PLANET. Not just because I'm a die hard ParrotHead and have more Buffett-themed tattoos than 'Where is Joe Merchant' as a picture book but because it's not many places that you can have a stiff cocktail underneath the wing of a Grumman Goose. It's definitely a plus if you've read the books and sip a Landshark while listening to 'Jamaica Mistaica' but either-or, you should be able to feel the vibe. I've been coming to this plane on every vacation since 2003 when my parent's forced me to eat here and I had no clue who Jimmy Buffett was. Now an entire arm of tattoos (Margaritaville-themed) later, all CD's memorized, all books read (more times than normal) a marriage proposal and divorce drink underneath the same wing of the plane, I still come back and still love every minute of it. I have gotten over the fact that the worse thing my ex-wife said to me was that she wasn't a Buffett fan after 4 years of faking it. It's all good with a Loaded Landshark and a plate of Volcano nachos. I don't even remember her name (after a few Perfect's) and that's what Margaritaville is. Escapism at it's finest. Seriously, awesome bar, awesome vibe. I live out here now and this will continue to be my favorite spot. Definitely check it out next time at City Walk. It's worth parking in Spiderman and riding moving walkways packed with tourists. Cheers!

*** Perfect Margarita ... best bang for the buck! Again ... never wiped down the counter top so phone stuck to the bar. The staff were all over the place because it was so busy. Is a great place to pick up a quick drink on your way in or out!

This is a great little pitstop break right in the between the US and IOA. There are always a few regulars and local which make this place great. The bartenders are always friendly and very attentive to everyone and you won't wait long. If you need a a break from the parks this is a great location! Don't forget to tip the bartender!

The Lone Palm is a fun spot for a fruity summer drink, margarita or beer. The place feels so laid back, and the staff is amazing. This is an extension of Jimmy Buffets, so you can order from a limited menu out here as well. If you can get a spot at the bar, do it. It is fun to watch the bartenders work and chat with people from all over the world.

Great cocktails before or after your day at the park. Not as great as the bar right inside islands. That place has the best piña coladas

We are locals, and visit the "Lone Palm" outdoor bar at least once per week, sometimes more. Since we live in Orlando and enjoy the tourist atmosphere, we visit all the casual dining places in CityWalk and Downtown Disney quite frequently. We continue to visit the Lone Palm bar because the service is OUTSTANDING and we enjoy outdoor dining. Michael C. is usually there, and he is one of the best servers I've ever had! There is room for improvement, however: the outdoor menu needs more options; why not offer the same food outside that you offer inside the restaurant? Also, this seems silly but if the chairs had backs, we would stay and drink longer! A backless barstool gets uncomfortable quickly after all the walking around the parks. Lastly, many of the outdoor speakers need to be repaired or replaced; they have loud crackles, which goes from a slight nuisance to totally awful when the volume gets cranked up for the signature songs. These simple 3 items would take the Lone Palm from great to outstanding in my opinion!
