uh... Sorry, i just don't get it. I was excited to try this new place, but was a little disappointed when I left. Wasn't my worst experience, but definitely wasn't my best. Food: We tried their meatballs (decent), pizza (pretty bad), crab cakes (really good), and their hummus trio (decent). Atmosphere: It has a great view of Church Street, great set up and cool bars throughout the restaurant. Their menus are super cool, on a piece of sliced wood. Really nice outdoor seating. I would recommend it for more of the nightclub scene, but not so much for dinner. Service: This was where they were lacking. Our server was noticeably unfriendly. And when we ordered waters when we sat down, he said we could only have bottled water (distilled or sparkling). No tap water.... weird. So just on principal, I decided not to drink alcohol. Then when we ordered the hummus, he told us that they were completely out, so we said that we would order something else, and he said that since he wasn't busy, he would see if the chef could find some hummus.... really weird. And low and behold, he brought us hummus. I was really confused, and kinda scared to eat the mysterious hummus.

Quick with drinks. The remainder of service was terrible. Cold food, etc. never again.

This review is for the lounge/bar service at Loft 55. I have not tried their food items. We came here after a friends birthday to grab some drinks and hang out. Initially when I walked in, I kind of didn't know what this place is. Its kind of like you walk in and its like...umm where do you go? Im guessing after dinner service, it just kind of turns into a free for all at the bar (which there are signs that says, u cant sit there?) and then there are these half moon shape benches against the wall. There are some bar tables in the back. The music they play is like top 40's and some older pop songs on a saturday. If there were specials, I didn't know about it, but it was around 8 dollars for a shot of washington apple.... Bartender seemed annoying to take my order - i dont think he said anything to me - besides take my order. Not impressed.

A nice little bar in downtown. It is located on the second floor of the 55 west complex, so if you don't know where it is, you might have a hard time finding it but hello ... 55 LOFT ... loft ... elevated ... second floor. But the location is awesome since you are not on street level and over look street level below, it gives this feeling of an upscale lounge/bar area. The lounge area outside is especially nice but kind of small. A few couches and tables ... but if you're able to grab a couch ... nice and comfy!!! Inside there are two bar areas, with the upper bar area being a VIP area (at least later in the night and on the night I was there). Is there really a difference between the upper and lower bar areas ... not that I noticed. But overall the atmosphere was awesome. The one only downside, and not even necessarily enough to remove a star, is if you go with a group of friends, the dj and music gets wicked loud inside and makes it hard to hear/talk to someone. But if that is the case, just move on outside.

place is great very techie, dj's use latest technology on video mixing which creates a great atmosphere, I think their Bartenders need a little bit more experience in handling massive crowds. We can bypass that and not let affect the score on our rating vote just because it was a special event of NYE and the flow of the crowd was unprecedented. Great sound, very nice lighting with that upscale vibe orlando desperately needs w/o the stuffiness. One of the most interesting things i encountered in this hip lounge high tech cheek and sexy ambience, was the outside patio area very spacious and for all the smokers is definitely paradise for you. As you can breath the fresh air from the balcony overlooking church st. and you see the party scene unfold before your eyes. Table service outside and vip lounging also available @ your request as well as different tunes we're being played by separate dj from main room. Overall this place rocks and completely recommend it next time you visit downtown orlando.

Came here last week with Colleen B. and enjoyed myself! It was nice to go somewhere new downtown. It had a really nice environment - tons and tons of seating - two bars, patio seating, booth seating, table seating - seriously plenty of space. We sat at the bar and ordered a few dishes and drinks. The first drink I had was the English Gent and oh my good gravy it was so good. Basically gin and cucumber water amazingness. The first bartender that made this did a great job, the second one however needed some work. I understand they're new but he was having a lot of trouble making them and knowing what to put in each one. So, some work needed on that front. As for food, we got the crab cakes and the bruchetta, as well as the pizza. ALL of the food was really good - it had great flavor but the weird thing was that it wasn't warm enough. Even though we got everything pretty quickly after ordering, it seemed as though it had been sitting in the back for 20 minutes. Definitely a bummer, I don't want to eat almost cold food but it was really good food. Overall, I liked this place. Looking forward to visiting again for a sit down dinner.

Bottom line - with good food, drinks, and a great atmosphere, Loft 55 is a welcome addition to downtown Orlando. As others have noted, the overall vibe of Loft 55 was great. Plenty of seating in a variety of areas really does make it easy to come in and either relax or mingle. I can also co-sign the drinks as they were all outstanding. The bar, naturally, can get a bit crowded, but I didn't have any trouble getting the attention of the bartenders and they were all friendly despite the fact that they were being run ragged. I will admit, I only sampled a few appetizers others were eating, but I thought those were good too. Still, I can't fully comment on the food until I have a sit down meal. I don't expect to be disappointed. Loft 55 also seems to be making a pretty nice effort to reach out to local groups and charities. There have been several different ones using the venue in the times that I have gone. Somewhere between nine and ten, the vibe changes and the music hits. I stuck around for a bit and had a good time. Overall, if you are looking for something new to do downtown, I definitely recommend Loft 55.

Totally dig this new place downtown! It is located above Urban Flats on the second floor of the 55 West Complex and offers a sophisticated lounge atmosphere not easily found downtown. The decor and atmosphere is extremely posh and relaxing. There are various bars, tables and outdoor areas to kick back and relax. You can hit this spot up for a nice dinner or just to put relax and grab some lovely cocktails. Since they are new to the scene it looks like they have a few kinks to work out but I have a feeling this place is sticking around. Our bartender was one of the kinks as he was very nice, however, he was reading how to make the cocktails we ordered... so that just screamed new and he was messing up our order as well as the party next to us, it was very obvious he was still training. There was no huge issue I had with that except, once it got extremely busy, it was taking forever to get a drink and food. Also, when the check came, he took my card and ran it and everything was set and then he returned asking for my card again but with little explanation, you could tell he was extremely overwhelmed. For the speciality cocktails, we tried the following: - Strawberry & Cucumber Cooler - English Gent - Garden Fresca Out of the three the English Gent was my favorite, however, when made by different bartenders, the quality was a bit off, but I digress to the training bartender. This is the type of drink that is dangerous, it will sneak up on you. Also, they ran out of St. Germain while we were there, booooo! The Strawberry & Cucumber Cooler was lovely as was the Garden Fresca, but I could have done without the muddled berries as they were not the best texture to enjoy the drink. When we arrived at 9pm, we took a seat at the bar to order drinks and food. There were some smaller parties there but once the Magic game let out, it was packed! So, if you want to go for the relaxing part, go earlier and not when an event is happening. However, if you want to go to mix and mingle, go during something downtown or one of the new various specialty nights they are offering. As for the food, it was all very delicious but Elizabeth F. and I both agree that everything could have been warmer. The crab cakes and pizza were just not that hot which was a little confusing. But, the flavor and presentations were all on point and the crab lumps in the crab cakes were impressive, fresh and generous. The Bruschetta was delicious, I could have eaten that all night. Really looking forward to enjoying this place often.

LOVE the drinks! I was here last month with a few friends. The place looks nice, I think a bit too casual but still very nice. Outside balcony they have a couch or two with lots of plastic furniture. I would recommend more couches and less plastic. Ok, we didn't go for food (had dinner at Bento.. yum!) but we went to check out the new place and we ordered drinks. Drinks were fantastic!! We tried: - Strawberry & Cucumber Cooler ( I really liked, but liked English Gent more, one of my girlfriend had 2 of these) - English Gent (my favorite and my boyfriend's favorite) - Can't remember the name but it lower in the list of cocktails it was like Mocha and caramel, shucks, can't remember the name but my friend ordered it and she loved it, she ordered it 3 times! I'll update this part of the review after I go back again. The male bartenders were very attractive and fast and they just really did make amazingly delicious cocktails. After Loft 55 we headed to more places like The Fifth, Vixen, Vintage, etc and had to come back to Loft 55 for another cocktail to close out the night. The bartenders remembered us, very polite. I look forward to going back for their yummy drinks. I'll give them 5 stars when they fix up the balcony decor, haha!

Decided to attend their New Year's Eve event and was very disappointed. I had heard from friends that it was a fun place to go, but they were obviously not ready for an event of this capacity. $45 for entry and open bar from 8-12 p.m. would have been a good deal had the wait not been so ridiculous. I was there from 9-11 and received a total of 3 drinks. I repeatedly had my drink order messed up, missing drinks or receiving completely wrong drinks (vodka tonic instead of tequila). They did not have enough glassware for the event, the bartenders literally picked up empty glasses off the bar and rinsed them to make new drinks. At one point I saw a bartender using wine glasses for cocktails. If you wanted beer, forget about it. They had nowhere near the amount of beer glasses needed. Though they were completely over capacity, they continued to let more and more people in. It was clear that they did not prepare enough for this event and resorted to ripping people off by selling more and more tickets knowing that they couldn't handle that many people. There were more employees working the door than there were bartenders at each bar. I was going to complain on their Facebook but saw that plenty of people had already complained and decided against it. I went to look at those complaints to see if they were addressed but they were nowhere to be found. I guess having a pristine Facebook appearance is more important than addressing all of the angry patrons they had that night. This was my first visit there and I will most certainly not be returning.

A nice room. This place has some potential. The DJ was quite good. The staff could use some work on people skills, they were not very accommodating. The crowd on Saturday was sparse and had all the energy of a Tuesday evening. This place could be great, it needs to evolve and improve.

This place was cool! Very trendy- I kind of felt like I was in Miami! We got free drink coupons from a promo they had so we didn't really order much more than that. But, I did take a look at their menu and everything looked fabulous! They have an outside sitting area which I LOVED. I will definitely be back!

It was nothing special. You kind of have to know about the place to find it. It was rather quiet on a saturday night.

I went to Loft 55 for their New Year's Eve event and I can say, right off the bat, that I don't think I'll be returning to this place. I was in VIP for the night with my boyfriend and a bunch of his friends. First of all, they were quite disorganized at the door and I don't think they even noticed that our party had walked in. No one was there to escort us to our booth. When some people in our party grew frustrated, they found someone to help us and we were escorted in after 15 minutes. We arrived at about 10:30pm and we weren't in the VIP section until about 10:45pm. That's not to say that we were seated. That was another fiasco in itself. Wristbands, seating, and bottles were trying to be sorted and nothing seemed to be getting anywhere. Finally, we sat down in our section which consisted (of what we thought would be) of 2 couches, 2 single seaters, and a table. While we waited for our first bottle (which took almost 45 minutes just to arrive at our table), we were told by some of the management that our VIP section had to be cut down. How small were they cutting it down, you might ask? Well, let's just say that we were now sharing less than 1/3 of a long couch with another party and we had our 2 single seaters. SERIOUSLY?! Pretty lame. My boyfriend and I decided we wanted some drinks from the bar, so he went to try and get the attention of a bartender, but he stood there for 30 minutes in vain. Anyways, there was tons of broken glass all over the floor in the VIP section (pretty dangerous if you ask me- especially for girls who get uncomfortable and are prone to take their shoes off) and the only moment we got GREAT and PROMPT service from the servers was when we were pulling out our cash to pay for our (VERY POOR AND SUBSTANDARD) service in the VIP section. At this moment, the servers were there for our every request in the snap of a finger. I've seen that they're going to have a night where they attempt to "redeem" their substandard performance on NYE. I don't know how this will fix what they did on NYE since they were over-capacity that night. What's to say that they won't be over-capacity on this "redemption" night as well? Very doubtful. I won't be returning. It was one of the worst NYE experiences that I've ever had. Next time, don't over-sell or overestimate the capacity of your VIP section. It might make for happier customers.

I love the creative dishes here. I had a Truffled Popcorn Shrimp served on top of truffled buttered popcorn with the bag and all! Came with a sweet/spicy dipping sauce and extra truffled butter for the popcorn! Great snack! I was interested in trying their Chicken and Waffles too because their waffles are red velvet flavored! There's always next time, baby! They have tv's all around the bar and patio so you can watch the game here on Sundays too! No DirecTv though! The drinks are on the pricier side. $6-$8 for a beer. Overall it was a very well decorated restaurant with a creative menu and good service. I will be back!
