This is the epitome of a strip mall star! Very unassuming spot in the corner of a strip mall that delivers in every aspect. 5 stars because it is super local, an ever changing menu and a chef/owner (Jerry Helminski) who is in the business for the right reasons; loves food and feeding people . Marrakesh is a major city in the northwest African nation of Morocco and this spot is named after that cities food... hence "Kesh," however, not necessarily the food array, more for the feeling of the food culture in Marrakesh. Very street food, fresh, and community driven. So don't expect a menu with Moroccan food, this mean features an ever-changing array of homemade sandwiches, gourmet hot dogs, global street food, doughnuts and milkshakes. Blueberry lavender milkshake... sit on that for a minute. BLUEBERRY LAVENDER MILKSHAKE! WOWWEEEE! I ordered that before I ordered my meal, ha! It was absolutely delicious and I loved the flavor combo. So I urge you to leave room to try one of their milkshakes! For my meal I went with the California Turkey Wrap and it was fresh and great. The turkey (and all of their meats) are cured and sliced in house so it was full of flavor and thinly sliced; just the way I like it! The avocado was perfect and accentuated the wrap perfectly. Another inside tip and how they incorporate community, they host a Supper Club every other Saturday - reservations required. That's right, they turn this little spot into a community dinner. keshrestaurant.com/suppe… -- Get ready to enjoy a 4 to 6-course tasting menu skillfully prepared by Chef with top quality/ local ingredients. Seriously, stop reading this and go, now or at least make a reservation for a Supper Club to experience this spot on a whole other level.

OK, All I have to say is Wow! I am so happy a friend told me about Kesh. We came here for lunch today and were very impressed. I guess they have been around for a few months and are occupying the old NY deli place next door to the DMV. The best part about this place is that the menu changes almost daily, well daily with the addition of the specials. The menu is very eclectic and has everything from soups, to hot dogs to $2 shakes. Everything on the menu looked amazing, but I opted for the Reuben sandwich. It took a little longer than I'm used to, but that is expected with only one chef. It was huge and amazing (see pic) All meals come with a side of homemade chips, also excellent, although they could use some salt. The experience from taking the order to finishing my meal was great. Another great thing is the prices. A potential future concern would be the lack of spaces as they get busier. My entire meal with a drink was $9. The chef actually comes out and talks to everyone and is very personable. This is a real deal chef, not just a cook in the back, hence the diverse menu. I think I have found my new go to lunch spot. #Yelp100

I love this place! Best fresh foods and ever changing menu makes this place a great place to frequent. Chef is always putting a twist on something. Today the Chili Mac was amazing. Fresh macaroni with homemade chili and jalapeño. Come try it!

Went in about 2 on a Saturday, only one other person there. Kinda surprised how dead it was for how good the reviews are on here. Everything on the menu sounded delicious but a number of things were sold out, which is understandable since it was only an hour before they closed. I ordered Pastrami Reuben, came out a couple minutes later. To describe it simply, it was the best reuben I've ever had. The bread was perfect, perfectly toasted, the beef is what made it though, just so perfectly tender and delicious. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more of their food.

Very good deli. The chef takes his time and serves up fresh ideas on old classics and they are very good. Seems like he makes his own sauces and chips. Meats and breads are very good. My only complaint is they run weird hours so check before you go out there.

If you're okay with small shopping center joints, then you're okay with my rating. The food was fresh, creative and quite good. The owner was very personable and possesses a good sense of humor. Not a large menu, but quite varied...with breakfast and lunch items. I will go back my next time in town. BTW, the owner is from Chicago (so you can get your 'dog fix) and his wife is from Morocco...which explains the range of food. Go there. Support locally owned businesses!

If you have been following my blog or following my posts on Twitter for very long, you've seen my pics and posts about 'Kesh. The quality, variety and uniqueness of the dishes I've experienced here is far and above what I've encountered elsewhere in Orlando. This is especially true for the Saturday Supper Club events held at 'Kesh every other weekend. So when the opportunity came up to attend a special tapas event at 'Kesh, I was in! So, let's get to the first of our nine courses! (That's right...4 more than the usual supper club menu. Thankfully, I came hungry.) We started with delicious meatballs. These consisted of pork, beef, and veal, mixed with live bread crumbs and garlic, in sherry vinegar, topped with almonds. Next, we had a tempura fried chorizo with a sapphron cheese dip. These little bites were perfect, and the dip was wonderful. We moved on to our next dish. Roasted corn, Mexican cream with lime juice, salt and pepper, topped with house queso fresco and cumin. House made pita chips were supplied for dipping, but some of us enjoyed it by the spoonful! (I may have missed a few ingredients of this particular dish but we can't give away all of Chef Jerry's secrets!) Drink pairings of wine and beer also accompanied each dish. With this one, a cinnamon margarita! We aren't even halfway done folks. Let's continue... The next dish involved two items I don't eat. However, I have never been disappointed by any dish at 'Kesh yet, so I gave Chef Jerry the benefit of my serious doubt and dug in! Asian style guacamole with togarashi, topped with fish roe, and black and white sesame seeds, served with English cucumbers. The spice of this dish was incredible, and I enjoyed the crisp cucumber slices versus a chip. I don't think I'd eat guacamole and cucumbers anywhere else! (The drink with this dish was a ginger saki cocktail.) We continued our tapas adventure and moved on to a beautiful treat... A perfectly marbled, seared beef tataki, in a marinade of ponzu, soy and citrus, with crushed red pepper, and topped with sesame seeds, scallions, shaved cabbage, pickled onions and a grated marinated radish. Wow! Our sixth dish was a Moroccon flatbread, Japanese tataki style, topped with seared lamb, chick pea hummus and cucumber. A garnish of Harissa chili paste was a spicy addition only for the brave. It was quite hot! A Moroccan dish...contained a similarly Moroccan harira ragu, or stew, over couscous. Our final savory dish was a delicious gnocchi. This lovely potato gnocchi was served in a port wine cream and topped with bacon and torched gorgonzola. Our final dish was, of course, dessert! And this one was unique. First, Chef Jerry's amazing Mexican sipping chocolate topped with sea salt. Rich and divine! And a chocolate tamale! The tamale was filled with dried dates and prunes, and topped with house made queso fresco. An incredible sampling prepaared for a select few. You should be sure to book a Supper Club event and book early!

Surprisingly quite cheap prices, a whole big bowl of delicious Gnocchi was only $6. A Ginger Snap 20oz milkshake was only $2. They have all kinds of unique sandwiches, hot dogs and the menu changes daily. They had a really weird shake I was too scared to try, strawberry BBQ Eel! Also had a delicious Kefta Slider, see pictures. It's next to the 25/7 Gym(old Albertsons) on the southwest corner of Colonial/50 and Alafaya The owner is obviously an experienced chef, there is an article about him on the wall. The name comes from Marrakesh he just shortened it. Every day he makes a couple different interesting shakes, keep an eye on their facebook for updates. facebook.com/pages/Kesh-…

**Insanely Wonderful Chef-made Home Cooking and Street Food.** Squeezed into a smallish space by the big DMV on Colonial, next to a nail salon, you can miss Kesh if you're not looking carefully. And that would be a mistake. This place is nuts, in a very good way. Somehow, for some reason, a creative, talented chef who enjoys lavishing incredible craftsmanship on humble street and home-cooking style foods, has set up a lunch joint, from which he will sell you a variety of brilliant, artisanal versions of foods you have had before, but likely not so well, and certainly not for these prices in such a humble setting. A sandwich or a slab of cornbread at Kesh is not just a sandwich or a slab of cornbread. All the food is crafted to be special. Texture, spices; everything is exquisite in all the details, without ever overshadowing the basic goodness of the original thing. A taco will still be a taco, but it will be prepared and seasoned and made several notches better than the norm. It will be a "take" on tacos, created with a lot of thought and expertise put into the exercise. It's the kind of thing a certain kind of trendy, upscale restaurant might try, and maybe or maybe not succeed with, but which would in any event cost a lot more and maybe require a reservation. The menu varies with the owner's imagination, so one day may feature turkey melts, another macaroni; another, the aforementioned tacos, but it's always a handcrafted, original take on sturdy classic home cooking or street foods. We've been twice. The first time, the friendly, funny, extremely busy proprietor / chef was short a person, and apologized for the delay while he ran around and made every single thing by himself. The wait still wasn't bad, and it was completely worth it. We started sharing a piece of the sweet maple cornbread, which has a light, sweet, waffle-tasting vibe, with nice, dark maple undertones. Fantastic. While we waited, the owner brought us little souffle cups of ... a milkshake sample spiced with chili? I think. It was amazing. I had the massive Cuban that comes on perfect, crunchy / chewy homemade Cuban bread, with the hand-cut potato chips. Half was a very hearty meal; half re-heated perfectly in the oven for lunch the next day. I've tried many Cuban sandwiches over the years. Kesh's version is the best I've seen, with a chunked-pork version I had in Ybor a fair second. My companion had the fantastic, cilantro-seasoned street tacos mentioned above. On a subsequent trip, we had a hot shrimp / macaroni dish that was spicy, creamy magic. And more Cuban sandwich for me. We'll be back to explore more of the menu, but in the meantime, do yourself a huge favor and check it out as soon as you can. This is simple food, made with very serious attention to excellence. Somewhere a very fancy restaurant is missing a talented chef, because he is making us crazy lunch food in Orlando for cheap. I don't know why, but would advise anyone and everyone to run in and take advantage before he changes his mind.

I stumbled into this hidden gem by accident after planning to get lunch from the chain sandwich shop at the other end of the strip. Am I glad I did! The food is very good. The prices are very good, The warm friendly welcome from Chef/ owner Jerry Helminski was great. Why he chose to give a hidden restaurant a hard to remember name makes no sense to me, but apparently people have managed to find the joint despite that. It was nearly full at 1:30 today, and people were stopping in for takeout orders, too. I enjoyed my visit today and will be back. I may even recommend it to friends and coworkers if I can remember the name. Maybe they'll like it too, if they can remember the name and find the hidden location. It's worth the effort. As already noted, the menu changes daily, and it's posted on chalkboards inside the restaurant.. The daily menu is also on Facebook and Twitter I guess. Kind of like a food truck without wheels. No, this is better than any food truck I've been to. Seriously, you need to stop in if you're in that part of town. This is the good stuff in a very unexpected place.

We've been here twice now, and I have so far had the BEST: Cuban sandwich, Ruben, and milkshakes (strawberry and coffee) of my life. Any one of those would be saying something, it's really amazing that there's more than one from a single joint. It's a wonderful feeling getting blown away every time you come in, and then just been soothed into complete contentment with a milkshake after. The food is very fresh, and I've never had any discomfort from eating here. And don't let the street food title put you off, Jerry knows how to throw down, and because he makes so much in-house, you pay less than you could (easily) at a fast food chain. Items in red are a permanent feature, so there's a great deal of comfort knowing that there's always going to be a Ruben and/or a Cuban on the menu :)
(5)Pauline C.
Hidden treasure found!! I wish I knew this place was here earlier! The scrambled egg & ham tots was amazing and it's a must try! Everything was so good! The owner/ chef was super friendly. Some of the dishes looked like what you'd get at a five star hotel but with 1/3 if the price.
(5)Robin Haley B.
I can't say enough great things about this place. Everything on the menu is specially crafted by the friendly and comical owner and chef. I trust anything on the menu, and look forward to checking the Kesh Facebook daily to see the always exciting specials. This is easily my favorite lunch spot in Orlando and would recommend anyone to stop by.
(5)David M.
I've been there numerous times for lunch and love it. There are always new and exciting renditions of classics. My favorite it the pressed Cuban, it comes with a thick layer of lechon and sweet, thick slices of ham. It's to die for, especially when accented with the wide variety of hot sauces at the restaurant. The house chips are also great.

Our go to nearby resteraunt that has never disappointed ! The owner and chef changes the menu every single day so ur always surprised to see what creative dishes he will make . His food is a mix of different cuisines , and more if a unique fusion food " on the go" place . Definite a hidden gem in Orlando !!!!
(5)Demetra P.
Friendly staff and quality food! Great spot for lunch! Chef Jerry's menu changes daily, so there is always something new to try. Highly recommended if you're in the Waterford/UCF area for lunch!

Looking for a new place to grab lunch, I stumbled across Kesh near UCF. I had noticed the restaurant a few times when visiting the DMV next door, but it always looked empty and somewhat uninviting. Upon entering the restaurant, though it immediately took note of how clean it was, although the furnishing and decor is somewhat bland the restaurant felt comfortable. I was greeted by the chef/owner who was very friendly. Orderes the Cuban with housemade chips. For around $9, I definitely got my money's worth - the sandwich was LOADED with pork and toasted just the right about of time. The housemade chips were fantastic too. Good food is hard to find in the area, so this will definitely be a frequent spot for lunch, whether for a quick bite to go, or for something to sit and savor.

I am not easily impressed, especially to feel compelled to write a review. I have eaten at Kesh for lunch a couples times and finally just have to give the guy props for an amazing experience each time. Today was the kimchi dog... They are more popular than you think. Google it. This was by far the best tasting and best presentation I have had. The kimchi was fresh the added touches do not go unnoticed or tasted... The side salad was the perfect balance. The PERFECT spot when you don't have a ton of time, but still want to eat very, very well....
(5)Nick W.
Awesome food, good service. The house made chips are delicious! Their kettle cooked which no one really serves...again...delicious. The Cuban I had was perfectly cooked, overflowing with meat. I cannot wait to go back and try again!
(5)Jennifer G.
Wasn't sure what to expect since this is located in a somewhat run down plaza. However, it was amazing. I had the Blue Cheese Chips and a grilled cheese with bacon. The grilled cheese had brie, provolone and goat cheese, and it was very tasty. Service was great and so was the food. Highly recommend it.
(5)Tu D.
Awesome local eatery located in a plaza next to a dmv. They serve street food with a modern twist at moderate prices. The service is very friendly and hospitable. Be warn don't come here if you're on a diet or if you're watching what you eat but do come with an empty stomach! A must stop when over by the UCF/Waterford area

Absolutely a must try. I couldn't wait to try this place after reading about the chef and his menu. Great food at a great price wish there were more places like this around. I went on a Sunday afternoon and got served very quickly. It's on the corner of the Colonial/ Alafaya plaza by the DMV. Nice little "sandwich" shop, with other goodies, for a reasonable price. I had the pork tacos, they came with pickled onions, cabbage, and I added some special hot sauce that the chef made with some Thai chilies that was a little hot but very tasty. My girlfriend had the Cuban which she liked very much I had a bite and it was very good tender cheesy one of the best I've had. My mom got the French toast, she loves French toast and is very picky about all her food and she loved them. Cooked perfectly and all the powered sugar she could eat. There are a few tables and a bar area looking out the window to the street. The menu is on a chalk board so he does change a couple of items from time to time but there are some main stays, like the pork tacos and Cuban. He is a nice guy and said that he makes just about everything himself, which is believable as everything I eat was awesome.
(5)Christian C.
This place was a pleasant surprise. The Garlic dogs and Red Dragon Chicken Wrap with potato salad had great flavor. Everything was perfectly seasoned. I needed more room in my belly for the cornbread. I hope this place continues to do well.
(5)Stephen B.
Kesh is a hidden Gem, tucked way back in the corner of a large shopping plaza. The food is outstanding! They have a daily special that changes often as well as most of thier menu. This time I decided to go with one of thier staples; the Cuban. This is the best Cuban sandwich I have had out side of my house. It was authentic, portioned well, and the home made chips that came with the sandwich were perfectly cooked. I am definitely coming back to try something new. Despite its poor location it is a must try place.
(4)Sabrina F.
I discovered this place thanks to yelp, and I've come here a couple time since then, and I have to say this is one of the things I like about Yelp. You're able to discover hidden gems like this you wouldn't otherwise. Anyway, the service and food here is unique and delicious (yes I meant that; the owner is delicious in that he provides excellent service and is a hella nice guy lol) Going off memory, I've had the shrimp quesadilla which i give 4 out of 5 stars, the pistachio milkshake which i give 4 out of 5 stars, you may like if you like the taste of more milk than shake. I had the thanksgiving sandwich with the homemade chips which i give 5 out of 5 stars and i think that's it. Anyway, I go in a chat with Jerry every time and he always makes it feel like your a welcomed guess there, maybe because I go in alone and not with a group. And so I kept forgetting to write a review here but remembered when I came to Yelp looking for a great place that makes homemade spaghetti and it looks like this is where I'm going for lunch tomorrow. I can't wait for Kesh to expand and get better curb appeal so people know what a great place this is. Win for the waterford lakes area.
(5)Jeff K.
Best Reuben I've ever put in my mouth? I think probably. I was expecting a good sandwich based on the reviews, but this was a GREAT sandwich. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread was perfect, and the dressing and sauerkraut were right at that ideal ratio where you get the sour and sweet flavors but the pastrami still shines. This is one of the perennial specialties on the menu board, and rightly so. It's amazing. I've returned for the pressed Cuban, also a great sandwich and enduring menu board resident, highlighted by an almost impossibly juicy pulled pork. Kesh offers daily specials too, and after talking to Chef Jerry it seems that these specials are usually thought up based on what fresh ingredients he can find on the day. Most recently, I came back in on a Wednesday (this is the day of the week they have a burger special) and was treated to the burger in the photo. It was a massive, beautiful tower of goodness topped with mashed potatoes, pepper gravy, crispy onion things, BBQ sauce, and certainly other things that I've forgotten. Creamy, sweet, salty... it's all there. I'll admit I made quite a mess of myself trying to eat it all, but that's just part of the experience. Had I not been in public I may have licked the wax paper clean. Go here! Soon. And often. (Updated 3/11/2015 after a couple more visits)

Hello, hidden , glorious gem. Let me tell you the secret about this place: a fine dining, extremely talented chef wanted to open his own business. Looks like he didn't have the capital to get a better location, so here he is, in the run down corner of a crappy strip mall, serving ignorant UCF kids some of the best food they'll ever have. No exaggeration. I recall very pointedly a pair of young kids sporting exercise gear asking the chef (who is the only staff member), 'What's good here?' and him promptly smiling and naming every single thing on the menu without taking a breath. I can gladly confirm that this is the gospel truth. His nachos were the best nachos I've ever had. Smoked chicken, poblano cream sauce, absolutely divine. Reuben mac and cheese? Sumptuous. Pulled Pork asian sliders with kimchi slaw? The table next to us ordered the same thing, and we heard happy moans of contentment from the fellow that had also ordered this entree. What cost us $28 for three full entrees would have cost us $70 at the level of cooking this man is doing. I love that his menu changes constantly - like a 'real' restaurant. Because this place doesn't feel real. It feels like someone who is immensely talented is just taking some time before he gets the cash to open a restaurant more worthy of his craft. And you can see that - he has awards, newspaper articles and photo features from several magazines specifically about his work on the walls when you walk in.. So for now, college kids, enjoy this amazing food. I will continue to visit weekly and thank my lucky stars this place exists.
(5)Dan S.
This place is awesome. Chef Jerry makes whatever he wants and says whatever he wants, it's great. Every day the menu will have a two or three new items on it that are posted on their Facebook and Twitter accounts. facebook.com/pages/Kesh-… twitter.com/keshrestaura… And the food? To put it simply, I will eat anything Jerry comes up with. That's how good everything I've had there is. As a sandwich guy, I appreciate when I need a towel to accompany my lunch. Jerry is also a sandwich guy. Just look at some of the photos. That's how a sandwich is supposed to look! Hours are usually 11am to 3pm so make sure you find some time to stop by and eat some amazing food!
(5)Sarah V.
Oh my god ! The food is absolutely delicious!! I didn't like the place at the first look, but the food is amazing. I got the crab cake in a mini bun and the coleslaw. The chef is bringing himself the food and he checks on you. I really loved this place.
(5)Mike P.
I have wanted to stop here for a few weeks but have just been unable to manage time at lunch until TODAY to give them a try... I am so glad that I did because I read all of these wonderful things about them and I must admit they delivered BIGH TIME! Here is where they could have done better. The dining area could be a bit bigger and the hallway tables were a bit out of place. The soda machine was down today. Unsweetened Iced tea is not offered. The wait time for my lunch could have been a bit faster. OK, that is being pretty nitpicky which I have to admit, it is BUT, nobody is perfect... Here are the things that they delivered on. The place was welcoming and the décor was stunning. Chalkboard menu with only a few select choices and the choices I saw looked great. The hot sauce bar at the counter was a great touch. The designer did a nice job with the art on the wall and the choices of knick knacks strategically placed in the café. OK OK... Let's get down to the key thing... HOW WAS THE FOOD? I tried the special of the day which was: THE BALLPARK BURGER - Lettuce, Tomato, Mustard, Cracker Jack, Hot Dog, Nachos and cheese on a Pretzel Bun topped with Cotton Candy. It comes with Potato Salad and a drink and I chose bottled water. The presentation was beautiful and YES, I included a photo. The potato salad was quite unique. It had a hint of the sweet southern potato salad with a bit of that northern touch of paprika. I normally turn my nose at potato salad with a sweet relish BUT this was like no relish I have tasted and actually liked it. WELL DONE! That was one TALL burger but I managed to squeeze it to a size I could bite into and that first bite just sang... "Take me out to the ball game" and I actually closed my eyes and had a flash back to my first MLB game seeing the Pittsburgh Pirates play the Cincinnati Reds. EVERY layer of flavor just complimented one another and the chef hit a HOME RUN with this creation! You can expect me to show up again to see what you come up with BUT you should seriously consider a bigger spot, adding a sous chef and a food runner. I can think of a few places in the area that would appreciate your talent and being hidden in that shopping center is not doing you justice my friend!
(4)Mike W.
Very big hole in the wall. Everything on the menu is worth having. But what keeps me coming back is Chef Jerry. Absolutely love the guy and his style of making food along with the concept that good food made to order shouldn't have to be overly expensive. I hope one day I can do one of his dinner club meals.
(5)Andrew H.
Kesh Restaurant is owned and operated by Chef Jerry Helminski. Although the name of the restaurant is short for the Moroccan city of Marrakesh, Kesh Restaurant is more of a deli with dinner specials and not much in Mediterranean fare except a daily selection of what is called Street Fare. Chef Jerry hails from Chicago and has been a apart of some of America's most renowned resorts and hotel kitchens in Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando and Houston. The menu at Kesh consists of Deli Food like : Pastrami Reuben, Turkey Bagel, and The Grilled Corned Beef and Cheddar...all of which are $7.50. For the Street Food selection, Kesh offers items like Pork Soft Tacos, Pressed Cubans and Pizza Bread. Being from Chicago you can makes sure that Chef Jerry has included some Chicago style Dogs and even Polish Sausage.
(4)Diane M.
Really great sandwiches especially the Cuban - a also their spaghetti sauce is great on sandwiches. It small place in the corner of the shopping mall. They have a great variety of homemade sandwiches and they change the menu to keep new and old favorites on the menu. People are really nice and prices are fair for the amount of food you get- lots of meat on these sandwiches.
(5)Ho L.
Hidden local gem is a great way to describe Kesh...you definitely don't stumble into this place unless you're looking for it. The food here is quite varied, and so far everything I've had on each visit has been delicious. Sandwiches, pot pies, soups...you name it, it's great. The owner/chef is very friendly, and always willing to talk about his food if time allows. The kitchen is up front and open, so you're welcome to watch him work, and you'll definitely smell it. If you're on the east side of town, this is a great place to grab a bite to eat.
(4)Stephanie P.
I love Kesh. The menu constantly changes, the food is fresh and unique, and the owner makes a point to socialize with the customers. I went to Kesh today because my salad was frozen. Considering the special today was a turkey sandwich piled high with mashed potatoes and stuffing, I'm not really complaining too much. I love that the menu changes daily, and I recommend if you are on the east side of Orlando and are interested in unique foods, to follow Kesh on Facebook. There you will see when new menu items are available.
(5)Edgardo V.
Oh my Goodness......Heavenly Good...I came here last Saturday for first time and could not wait to come back... Menu on chalk board, Not many items to choose from but the ones he has are incredibly great!!!! A couple of items example: Pressed Cuban,Pastrami Reuben and Chicago Style Dog are always on the Board.... In addition Jeremy makes several fresh plates Daily and Weekly... You will not regret coming to this place... Pure Awesomeness

Cuban is good .. This place was a good find wouldn't have known it was there if it wasn't for the reveiws on yelp

Can you say Ah May Zing? I am so happy that I was able to visit today. My schedule can sometimes be hectic so I try to eat here as much as possible. Today I woke up to a Facebook post from Kesh saying that one of their specials today was a Piña Colada French toast with a Pineapple Maple Syrup. Who could resist that? As always I was greeted warmly since the owner knew that I was the one who asked how long they were open today on Facebook :-) He said he didn't want to assume what I came to get but he knew he had me with the French toast...lol. I decided to stay and dine in. This was my first time doing this. It's wasn't very crowded probably because I went around 11:20am. I took a seat and he brought my order to me. It was 2 very generous size pieces of toast with what looked to be a pineapple salsa on top that was sprinkled with powdered sugar and cinnamon. I took one bite and had to catch myself from moaning out loud because there was definitely a party going on in my mouth. It was cooked perfectly. It wasn't too soggy or too hard. The pineapple maple syrup which I must add was made from scratch. I tasted pineapple and oranges which was delightful. I was in food nirvana. If you haven't tried Kesh out, I highly recommend it. Everything is cooked to order and is made from scratch. There are limited quantities of certain items so you need to get there early. Everyday they post their menu and specials on Facebook which is helpful. I'm so happy that I found this hidden jewel months ago and plan to support them!

I'm definitely not alone in thinking this place is bad ass. But here's my story: I walk in and pretty much point at every menu on the chalkboard saying "mmhm and what's this mmhmm and what's this" like the most awful "english as a third language" customer on earth. The place is spotless and nice to sit in, well lit. The gentleman there seemed like he both made the food and ran the place but I could be wrong. He described the food in detail. They're a deli that constantly changes their menu to offer new items that are fresh; that's generally a good sign that a location is for bad asses to frequent. When I was asking him about the incredibly affordable smoothies he was all, "yeah I made the ice cream myself" while explaining them so yeah I got a damn blueberry lavender smoothie; say something. I went with that and the spicy shrimp over noodles. I could have chosen between that, his mother's spaghetti, some mac and cheese with bleu cheese and some other good stuff on it, and a host of other dishes that kind of varied in influence from Cuban to Italian. Ultimately, I get the impression they don't sleep on a single dish and make good shit in any circumstance. I considered getting the sushi hot dog with eel sauce, wasabi, etc on it but I decided that I wasn't drunk enough. Needless to say, the food was incredible. It was a light and filling, thin rice noodles seasoned by a champion, the smoothie was delicious. This is the type of place that's small and affordable and makes you want to start throwing haymakers at everyone when you hear about celebrities lining up for 2 hours to get "cronuts" in NYC. Just go eat at places like this. If I show up at your place and you clearly have a passion to make delicious food and give people a quick, healthy, clean eat, you're an artist. I'd love to see that guy making that place a huge chain that everyone goes and eats at but I get the general impression that they're totally content and I dig that. I dig that hard.

The Reuben was awesome. Very filling. A friend got the dog... The thing was big!!! Nice staff too, the chef is right there and can walk you though the menu. Enjoy!

New place my wife found and I am so glad she did. The food here is phenomenal. Everything is so fresh and perfectly cooked. The owner/chef makes everything in house (even his own sauerkraut). My wife got the Turkey Reuben and I got the Grilled Corned Beef Sandwich. Both sandwiches were amazing. I usually don't like Turkey Reuben's, but I could eat Kesh's on a regular basis. If you haven't tried this place yet, GO! Or, if you are waiting in line at the DMV grab something while you wait...it's right next door. :) Can't wait to go back. I have my eye on the Cuban. :-)

We walked in and were immediately greeted by the chef/owner, and walked through the menu step by step. You can really tell he is passionate about his menu, it's like his baby. It changes frequently according to what fresh ingredients are available. Almost everything here is made from scratch, even the chips which were spectacular! I had a Mexican style shepherds pie, my friend had a very cheesy beef sandwich. Both were out of this world, as I imagine everything on the menu is. I can't wait to go back and try the other things on the menu I wanted to try. Delicious food made from scratch with fresh ingredients at the right price, what more could you ask for? Only gripe is that the food came a bit cold a few times.

A cute little place near UCF! If you frequent UCF, you probably know that it is very hard to find a non-chain restaurant in the area. This place is definitely a hidden gem and the chef/owner was very friendly. I got the shrimp quesadilla, and my companion got a roast beef sandwich. Both were flavorful and the hot sauce on the sandwich was great. My criticism was that some of the house made chips on the side were stale, and both menu items were dripping with sauce making everything slightly soggy. One thing I noticed was that 4 or 5 menu items were "sold out" from their already limited menu. We were there at 1 on a weekday, so I'm not sure if the place was unprepared for the lunch rush or if this was a regular occurance, but I didn't get to try my top three choices. I'll definitely come back to try them though.

Amazing food! The owner, operator, and chef has a great personality and is a culinary genius in my opinion. Kesh has sandwiches, sausages/hotdogs, appetizers, milkshakes, and different plates of food. They change their menu all the time, leaving only a few items that are always available. Most dishes are served with spiced potato chips that are freshly fried up with your order. The flavors of the milkshakes at Kesh also change all the time. These are often, if not always, compound flavors (ie I have not yet seen chocolate by itself, strawberry by itself, etc). My wife and I decided to share a milkshake and was not what I expected - it seemed to be low on sugar but not in a bad way. The flavor of the shake was great and it was enjoyed to the last drop. I have only heard one person have a dish they didn't enjoy, but it seemed mostly an issue of communication - ask what you are getting if it is not straight-forward. For me though, it has been a 5 consistently. By the way, the prices, at least for now extremely reasonable for what you are getting - definitely in the 1 dollar sign area. I can see this place growing, if that is the intent its owner.

What a hidden gem... This place is too good to pass up, grab lunch here if you like a good sandwich! The menu changes frequently. The owner and manager is cool, and is quick with making orders. The Cuban is on point!! Try it!

I tried the Pastrami Reuben and Pressed Cuban the other day and from the two I liked the pastrami reuben sandwich better. If you like crisper's sandwiches, you would definitely like this place. They give you more meat than crispers would ever and for that price, I would totally come back again!

Absolutely rude! I have been an American Soldier for over 11 years and I am currently stationed in orlando fl as a recruiter. I simply asked to use the bathroom and I was refused the ability to use the facility if I did not buy something. I find his treatment of me very inconsiderate. I would have gladly bought something if I had money on me but seeing that I was in my fitness gear I did not have cash on me at the time. Regardless of the fact I asked for a favor he still denied me the ability to use the bathroom. From a customer stand point it's rude From a standpoint as a vet and current service member it's disrespectful. If tomorrow we are at war on his door step he wouldn't refuse me help would he? Oh that's right I choose to service my country so I "should not feel entitled to free service" What a jerk! He lost me as a future costumer for the next 3 years I am in orlando. And I could have been a daily customer.

New favorite spot by UCF! Everything was so fresh and good! We got the spinach dip, quesadilla, tacos, Cuban and paella. Definitely get the tacos, they were really good. We came around 645pm since the online time said they close at 8pm and apparently it was closing at 7pm. The owner graciously waited and took our order anyways and everything was very good. Awesome customer service and very nice guy. Will come back to try the milk shakes!

My college student son brought me to this place. Had the kielbasa quesadilla. From the first bite till the last! Wow! Delicious. All the flavors just melt together. Big flavors for little place. Good thing I live near by, because I can't wait to come back.

Delicious food! They have a helpful and caring chef who is eager to please and passionate about his rotating menu. We love this place!! So refreshing to have great homemade food in a town full of chain restaurants!

Just went for lunch with the siblings and this place is a delicious, affordable no nonsense kind of place. The food speaks for itself--we had the cream cheese corn bread with guava sauce, Cajun sausage quesadilla (so much yes), pastrami Reuben (chuck style--meaning BBQ instead of thousand island--again, yes) and Chicago style dog (dead). We would definitely order all those dishes again but love that the menu changes daily. Don't be fooled by "Mediterranean deli" because it offers so much more! Great owner/chef.

I went there for brunch and ordered one of there classics, the egg sandwich. The sandwich was ok I've had similar things before in my life but that wasn't the problem for me. The problem was the unfriendly service. The woman at the front had to ask the man cooking for simple questions she should've known then on top of that the man cooking made me feel stupid. The woman at the front was trying to explain the coffee milkshake to me and she asked the man cooking if it had caffeine in it.. The man cooking have me like a 'duh' look then said it's coffee of course it does. He was extremely rude and the food was mediocre you are better off going to first watch or keke's.

CIA owner / chef ... Little else to say other than everything was fresh and delicious. We had the Mac and cheese special excellent. Chicken and waffle sandwich excellent as was the pastrami ruben. Home made potato chips. The place was spotless and easy parking makes this a 5 star find. In the middle college town that full of fast food crap food, this cafe is a welcome find.

Hidden gem on 50. Chef run and the food is great. Menu is always changing but have yet to find something I don't like.

Great little restaurant. The owner was very personable and you can tell he loves to cook. The food was fresh and reasonable priced. I ordered the pork tacos, pastrami reuben sandwich, and guacamole and chips. He made the guacamole fresh when we ordered it, creamy but yet still chunky. So good! The pork tacos were wonderful and the reuben was so juicy.

The staff and chef are all very friendly. The prices are fantastic. The portions aren't huge, but they're great for the price, which is rare to find. The food itself is always great tasting, I have yet to be disappointed and I've been in several times. The location leaves a bit to be desired as it's in an old, tired strip mall, but it's clean and bright inside, so don't let the outside fool you! In short, the place is one of the best in the area. Go visit right now!!
(5)Greg W.
Great food. Great variety. Great prices. Very friendly owner! NOTE: The location on Yelp is wrong. It's in the strip mall on the SW corner of 50 & Alafaya. Right next to the DMV.

I love a chalk board menu (they change it often). I had the most delicious Cajun boiled peanuts. I also ordered the croque Madame sandwich, which was ham, topped with a fried egg and hollandaise. It's not the usual light meal I opt for, but it was worth the splurge in calories. My only complaint is the kettle chips that came with the meal were tough and chewy.

This place is the epitome of a hidden gem. It's a quaint little restaurant in the corner of a shopping center. This was my first time here and I had the teriyaki pulled pork tacos and they were to die for! You can tell the chef loves what he does and I will definitely come back for more!
(5)Ellis B.
super disappointed. My roommate and I came here after reading great reviews about the restaurant...unfortunately the food did not even come close to living up the reviews. I got pork tacos: the pork was cold, dry, and under seasoned. the tortillas were cold and the sauce it was served with had little to no flavor. it was not enjoyable in any way! my roommate got the cuban sandwich and the meat in her sandwich was also cold and the sandwich really wasn't good ...i could've made a better one at home. we also shared a milkshake which may as well have just been flavored milk...it was so liquidy and not even remotely thick like a milkshake should be. i feel like i went to a completely different restaurant than everyone else that wrote review for the place...I honestly wish i had a better experience here because i probably won't be going back.

Delicious, unique food at reasonable prices. The menu changes, so there is always something new and tasty to try. Follow Kesh on Facebook to stay current on special menu items and early closures. The chef was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back.

Had the Mediterranean flatbread. Couldn't tell you all the ingredients that the obviously knowledgeable chef put on it, but they all blended together fantastically. You'd think that, as a result of the nature of the loose ingredients mounded on top of each other, one would have trouble keeping his or her flatbread together while eating. This was not the case, however. The flatbread - apparently defying gravity - was sufficiently coagulated. I loved it. The chef who owns and operates 'Kesh makes the food right in front of you and is even willing to strike up friendly conversation at the same time. Great place. I'll probably go back tomorrow for lunch.

Great place for lunch. Fresh food made to order by a very personable chef/owner. The portions of the menu change sometimes daily so follow them on FB or twitter for the latest menu. Today we ordered the Cuba and vegetarian chili - both exceeded expectations. The Cuban was very thick with quality meat and fresh bread. My lunchmate cleaned the chili bowl - enough said. Inside was very clean and customers can look over the counter to see a clean food prep area. Scott Joseph's positive review was spot on and I hope to become a regular.

I was a little hesitant to try this place given its location in the back corner of a dying shopping plaza (and given who was in that spot before him), but I tried it once and was hooked instantly. EVERY time I go in there I get something different (and he changes the menu every single day but not completely), and EVERY SINGLE TIME IT'S AMAZING! I've had the Reuban, Spicey Shrimp Tacos, Pork Tacos, Truffle Oil Mushroom Flatbread, Fajita Quesadillas, Chorizo Tortas, Black Bean Burger, Cuban Sandwich, and at least 10 other things that I'm forgetting (OH! And some Key West Burger Sliders that were to die for!) I'm looking forward to getting Sweet Potato Shephards Pie today, and I wish this man a LONG and FRUITFUL business. Very Personable. Reasonable Price. Chill atmosphere. Impress your friends by taking them to get REAL food for once in their lives!

This is my new favorite restaurant! I've had many things on the menu and everything is delicious. I especially like the reuben, quesadillas, and turkey bagel. Homemade chips are amazing. I like how there are new things on the menu every day. Follow Kesh on Facebook for delish daily updates. The chef is the only one working there and he makes everything himself and brings it to your table. All of the food is homemade. Love the $2 creative milkshakes like cherry cheesecake and chocolate pretzel. Also if you show your student ID you get 20% off!!!

Kesh is absolutely amazing! I've only eaten there once so far, but I that will not be the last time! The menu changes all the time so there's always something new for you to try. Everything is homemade and very fresh! Give it a try. I'm sure you'll add it to the places you go to eat. :) I had the moms spaghetti by the way. Delicious!

Had their jambalaya pasta of the day and it was a great price for a huge and might I add Delicious portion. My friend had a Chinese pork taco dish which was also delicious. We shared the roasted red pepper hummus which was perfect for the two of us and tasted so fresh. The menu is always changing and I can't wait to go again to try something new because I know it will be wonderful! The owner even surprised us by bringing us a free shot of his pumpkin milk shake. Amazing taste, amazing prices, amazing portions, amazing customer service! Can't go wrong with Kesh! Found them on Facebook so now I know when he changes the menu.

The menu is ever changing but creative with choice ingredients. I had a meatloaf sandwich with a spicy ketchup with hot peppers, coleslaw, and a side of blue cheese chips. The sandwich was a little of challenge to keep together but was very good and the flavors worked with each other well. The blue cheese chips are quite addictive but are great to share with a lunch companion.
