Peered in the window after stated closing hours for lunch, so Quincy gave us a take-out menu and invited us to come by for dinner after describing the specials he was making. Then he said, wait a minute, consulted with the owner and came back indicating he could still serve us lunch and seated us outside. My wife has some dietary restrictions, so Quincy prepared her salad, bruschetta, and pasta sauce from scratch for her. He also recommended an excellent Pinot Noir to pair with her eggplant based pasta and my spicy special pasta of the day. Everything was delicious, fresh tasting without being overly fussy, and Quincy explained how he prepared everything. You could taste the love that went into the food!

We went to experience the live entertainment and it was great. It was hard to believe you're in College Park. Unfortunately, I had the grouper and got food poisoning later that night. The response I go from the management when I called in the next day was very defensive. Gee, I really was only calling to let them know there may be a problem.

After moving away from the College Park neighborhood a few years ago, leaving behind the daily commute past this restaurant space, I decided to make a trip back to my previous stomping grounds and dine at Juliana's. Anytime I am at a new restaurant, I always love to order off the menu. I listen to the suggestions of the server as well as the chef special's of the night. I was able to find a winner here tonight. Carl was my server and he was very helpful and friendly. Courteousness always gets my attention seeing that I was raised in a day an age where manners were common place and no longer faded memory to society. I always love the genuine love for one's workplace. Honest personal opinions based on experience are what I look for. Tonight I tried the, "best Bruschetta in town." I was not let down. I am far from being a fan of olives, yet with the occasional hankering for a taste of capers. This dish was arranged with six perfectly portioned servings. Each piece was firm yet soft and not abrasive to one's mouth upon chewing. The normal topping of chopped tomatoes, garlic, and onion were joined by the accompaniment of kalamata olives I believe. It gave the dish a certain zest that one will not find with traditional bruschetta plates. I asked for the seafood special tonight. I couldn't remember what exactly it was called. However, it had the word "diablo" in it. The devil himself couldn't have spiced this seafood medley any better. Fresh mussels, sea scallops, prawns, and calamari swam in the house red sauce that was so tasty and warming to my lips, throat, and tongue. I love to sweat when I eat spicy food. Such a delicious entree. Well worth the extra buck. Don't worry, they have a decent Vino list and a full bar. They also have a television in their bar so you can take a break from the loud abrasive atmosphere of Wildside and Graffiti Junction across the street if you want to watch the game.

Remember that time we accidentally crashed a private party at Juliana's? Yeah, that was strange. I went here for dinner with some friends who couldn't make my formal birthday party. I've been wanting to go here for a while so I was glad they agreed to this restaurant when our other plans fell through. We were going to meet at 7. There was like no body in the restaurant. One or two tables were sat and a large-ish group was coming in. They were all wearing white. We got a table near the back. We got the bruschetta for an appetizer. I got a caesar salad and a shrimp based entree. Everything was great. As we were sitting there, we noticed more and more people coming in wearing white. They were all ordering from a prefix menu. As we were considering dessert, the band starting playing and people starting singing. Turns out there was a private event called "A Jazzy White Christmas". Proceeds from the dinner were going to a charity. Since we weren't a part of it, we passed on dessert and excused ourselves. Thanks to the people of Juliana's for not kicking us out!

Great food, great service. Owner is personable and even had the chef prepare something special off the menu for my vegetarian girlfriend. Great Italian in college park.

Great little family Italian restaurant in College Park. We had an excellent meal and wonderful service. We've been there several times and we'll be back again.

My boyfriend and I just moved to College park in June and this was our first time trying the restaurant. We just got to go but Carl was so nice and accommodating and our food was delicious!!! My guy usually complains about something when it comes to dining out but he had none here except he wanted more! :) Such a neighborhood gem and you pay for what you get so if you think the prices are too high than go to Olive Garden.

Julian'a's must be the best kept dining secret in Orlando. It's comfortable and quiet. Yes, you can have easy conversation with your friends! The food is excellent and the price point is great. Why is this place not packed? The food is very very good. It's what I consider authentic Italian. The bruschetta was excellent - a perfect starter to share with a glass of wine. Three folks had angel hair -they have a chicken and a shrimp. The cream sauce is light and everyone cleaned their plates. I had the chicken and mushroom risotto. The chicken was moist and perfectly cook and the seasonings were excellent too. I have ordered risotto in many places, and this dish was at the top of the list. We finished with sharing a piece of the coconut cake - totally based on the YELP reviews. YUM. Get the cake. And, we were very happy to have 10% off because we checked in via YELP! Thanks!

The service was lovely...but the food was average and the prices not worth it. Our server was so attentive and we were visited several times to check on our experience. Two entrées, dessert, and two coffees later though...and I was wishing it had been a better food experience. I found the flavors to be underwhelming, though the portions were fair. The food was not bad, by any means. Just not impressive. The food is fair...bordering on good. Just nothing brought it over the edge and certainly nothing made me feel like I couldn't make it at home. It's a nice, quiet, family owned place. So I had high hopes for making it a regular spot in College Park. It's just not quite there...perhaps worth a second visit to try other menu items. As it stands, a fairly average kind of place.

Meh. Sorry. Nothing special here. Dark. Dirty. I ordered chicken Piccata and received chicken Marsala. Caesar salad drenched in dressing. We won't be back.

I've been here a couple of times now and I'm pretty much always impressed with my experience. As many others have said, this place is almost always empty. I'm a little curious about how they stay in business, actually. But don't be swayed by the plethora of empty tables...this place is great! The service is always quality and the food is awesome...way better than your usual chain Italian fare. Some favorites of mine: -Bruschetta~ This is kind of a new spin on the old favorite! Toasted rounds of baguette with feta cheese, olives, marinated tomatoes, and pecorino cheese. Absolutely awesome! I don't even like olives, and I liked this. -Chicken carbonara ~ Very delicious...this was a special one day. -The Godfather ~ My boyfriend loves this one. It's meatballs, sausage, eggplant, tomato brodetto, and mozzarella over pasta. -Calamari= Always good and comes with fried zucchini strips as well. This is definitely worth a try, and there's a Yelp deal now where you get $20 off for only $10! Who can complain about that?

We have been here 10 times over the past 2 years and love the food. I go for the tried and true penne pasta with sausage and meatballs. Delicious! My husband usually gets the seafood special and it has never disappointed. Nice and quiet. You can actually have a conversation with your dinner party. Tried the caprese salad thus evening and it was delicious.

Really sad to say how disappointing this dinner was. We live down the street and wanted to support a local business. Sadly, we can't justify coming back. Service was slow and choppy. The server was extremely novice. We had to make requests over and over again. My husband's fettuccine Alfredo came with red sauce and my eggplant was raw on the inside. I asked for Alfredo sauce instead of red only to find an extra $6 charge on the check. I understand an up-charge (though $6 is high) but feel like it should be mentioned. Menu was overpriced. It took 17 long, long minutes to check out after our meal was finished. Positives include a great location and beautiful, cozy inside. Hope they change so they can stay in College Park-- and so that we don't have to drive for great Italian!

I don't know why I have a hard time at Italian restaurants...or basically any place that serves a finer cuisine. My main complaint at these establishments is way too much salt in their dishes! Maybe I need to specifically request less or no salt added (can I do this). My mom's Sicilian and she never adds salt to her dishes and they come out great...so why do restaurants always have to add tons of salt. Let the customer add more salt if they want too! So look...except for the salt problem, everything was actually descent here. So, if you like salty food, you'll love this place. I had the Chicken Picatta, which is one of my favorite Italian dishes (along with Veal Picatta). The sauce was nice and simple enough. The first handful of bites were good, but then I have to come back to the salt problem. The more I ate, the more the salt built up in my mouth, to the point that I stopped tasting my meal and instead felt like I was just eating salt. I'd probably give my meal 4 or 5 stars if it wasn't for this. For a side, I ordered the spinach. I'm not sure if this was deliberate, but the spinach was only half sauteed. So part raw spinach and part cooked. It was still good, but would have been better, if all of it was cooked. I didn't have time for dessert, but would have really liked to try their Tiramisu. I did have a good Cabernet, and they have a full liquor bar. I saw a couple of single patrons sitting at the bar, chatting up with an employee. The bar seating area can fit about 6 people, since they devote most of the space to the restaurant itself. Overall, the service was good. The ambiance of the place was nice. It looks small from the outside, but they make good use of the space. We really did had a good experience there, in spite of my qualms, and I would like to try it again.

Went here once, and the ambiance was going for traditional Italian food and the food was just average; nothing I can't get at Carraba's. And the food was overpriced for the portion and quality. However, the service is amazing and Juliana (the owner) is a sweetheart.

  • Gail C.

Read through the reviews and we must disagree with most. The ambience was very nice and the server made us feel right at home. Ask for a meatball and tomato gravy appetizer that was not on the menu, and he accommodated. Dinner special was grouper on creamed spinach risotto. Ahhhh-mazing! We will definitely be back!

Alright Yelpers, I'm going to get real and probably real rambly, let's get started. I have been dying to try Juliana's in College Park since moving to my new place about a block down the street. One evening I was heading to trivia at Wildside (now the Hangar) and I saw a group of happy party goers with balloons and presents and smiles galore all going into Juliana's. I was jealous of all them and desperate to try this place! A few days later my lovely friend emailed me about a Groupon for Juliana's. The stars had aligned and we were going to make a night of it! Starting with dinner at Juliana's and then seeing a local rendition of Rent, the musical. The night had finally come; we were both excited and hungry! It was about 7pm on a Thursday night and we were one of two tables sat. The inside was comfortable and there seemed to be plenty of seating for groups and also intimate tables for love birds. Our server was friendly enough, but a bit on the awkward side. No worries, I've dealt with awkward, let's order. Our Groupon allowed us for $40 so we figured we would make the most of it and get an app, entrée, and two desserts. We don't play when it comes to dessert. So we ordered the mussels starter and the lamb and saffron risotto main event. Before the mussels came out, our server came to the table seeming very nervous, this put us on edge. He explained that the owner said that we had to order two entrees with the Groupon. We were a bit confused since the detail was not on the voucher and asked to speak with the owner. The server went back to the kitchen and returned after a bit, still looking nervous and shady by any means, he said that the owner did not wish to come out, but that he needs us to order at least $40 worth of food and beverage. We were puzzled and annoyed. Why wouldn't we order AT LEAST the amount noted? So then the mussels came out. Huge mussels, nice! Cracked shells in blandish thick sauce, not nice. That's alright, we have lamb coming next. I love me some lamb! As a whole the lamb dish was ok. The risotto was undercooked and the lamb was over seasoned. Boo. So it's time for dessert. Come on Juliana's, redeem yourself! We ordered the coconut cake and the tiramisu; the coconut cake blew us away! It was moist and ooey gooey inside and so very coconutty and divine! It sure did make our experience a lot better, but not enough to save the whole experience. To be fair, I'd give Juliana's a 2.5 because the coconut cake was THAT good, but the customer service and main meal in general was no where I wanted it to be.

Just okay. I'm not super impressed. We came because of an expiring groupon. Service was just okay, more on the slow side and the waitress seemed like she really didn't wish to be bothered. When she brought us the check she pretty much tossed it on the table from about 2 feet away. It seems they have a certain clientele and it isn't us. :-)The food was not stellar and tiny portions. I'm used to servings I can only eat half of in. Italian restaurants, not so here. I do not think I will come here again groupon or not.

Food was ok, the one across the street is better. Would not honor my Groupon. I was credited by Groupon.

I had the caprese salad and filet mignon with mashed potatoes. My date had the chicken with mushroom risotto. Both dishes were delicious. The ambience of this place is also pretty amazing, its not too uppity and it still sets a nice mood. There were some families there with their kids, and other couples on dates. They have a great room set aside which would be good for a small meeting or gathering. The service was also phenomenal, the wait staff was friendly without being overbearing. They wanted to make sure we had plenty of time to peruse their menu and were great at answering any questions. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because I was pretty disappointed with dessert. We ordered the tiramisu, and I was expecting something out of this world based on the reviews everywhere. Let's just say it left something to be desired. I'm still planning on going back, and I'll try the coconut cake next time. Hopefully that'll be worthwhile. Definitely check it out, their dinner at least is exceptional.

I so wanted this to be a great neighborhood spot for us but it was just not good. There was my husband and I, a large party, and another couple in the restaurant that night. We purchased a bottle of wine which we had to refill our glasses on our own. I ordered chicken picatta which was just gross. The sauce was verging on salty and inedible from flavor and the chicken tasted almost slimy. My husband ordered the filet which was just ok. The risotto with his dish was undercooked and embarrassing if you ask me considering it's all over their menu. Edgewater has so much potential to offer this community great dining and shopping experiences but this place is another College Park flop.

If your in the mood for some delicious Italian food without the "chain" feel... Juliana's is the place to go! Ambiance is slightly dark, quaint with the cutest little tables window side (my fav place to sit) that make for a perfect romantic, intimate date night without all the fluff! Bruschetta was on point! this lovely appetizer comes with about 5 or 6 pieces, just enough to get the meal started. Chicken and Mushroom Risotto is just simply AMAZING! I cant seem to want to order anything else when I go. As for dessert, they seem to be famous for this Coconut Cake - but I have yet to try this... I do recommend the Apple Crisp! YUMMM warm and delicious :) You can never go wrong picking Juliana's

I was dying of hunger but not in a "stuff my face" sort of way... more in a OMG "I want amazing food" kinda way. I parked on Edgewater and just let my eyes steer me in the right direction and boy... did they ever! So many things to highlight here I am not even sure where to start so let's just go with order: Ambiance/Location - From the sidewalk it looks like a dark italian/Tuscan hideaway... inside it transitions into a warm and cozy setting of a family owned restaurant. The setting is very romantic but not stuffy if you know what I mean. There is a bar area that is more relaxed and 2 dinning areas that are medium sized open rooms. There is also what seems to be a private dining room towards the back to the right. The location is perfect, right in the heart of College Park on Edgewater, within walking distance of other great spots around town. Service - Chris! 2 thumbs up. Has been working here about 6 years and by the passion he had for the food, you can tell he really enjoys his job. He was so passionate about the amazingness of their dessert that he up sold me even though I could not finish my entire lunch. I know, I know, it's not hard to up sell a female on dessert but it was 1:30 in the afternoon and I just had a starter, salad and meal... now dessert? That is going overboard even for me. However, he said people come in this place to simply purchase an entire Coconut Cake... that's gotta be good. My response after I agreed - "I hate you" and Chris responded with, "You will love me after you taste it." OH - MY - GOSH, he was so right... I have to agree with Annette here in her review, "THIS IS THE BEST CAKE IN ORLANDO!" I totally second that! Appetizer - Bruchetta, it was perfection. 5 small pieces of crispy, warm, soft bread topped with an amazing caramelized onion, tomato and fresh shredded mozzarella. They were the perfect size, 2 bites each and so delicious. I could have eaten 20 of these for lunch but I am glad I didn't... there was so much more to try. House Salad - came with the entree I ordered and was the perfect portion. It was a small serving and it was full of fresh lettuce, cucumber pieces and tomatoes. The dressing was a creamy Italian I think, it was delectable. I would have LOVED a large portion of this topped with Salmon, yum! Salmon piccata with mashed potatoes was my entree, yes, for lunch... don't judge. I have to confess... this is the first fish I have ever ordered as an entree. I LOVE shell fish but I have never ordered fish as a main course... ever! Wow... was I glad I did today. The fish was so tasty... it was cooked perfectly in my uneducated-fish consuming head =) The seasoning was amazing, yes very salty, and I loved it. The potatoes were not amazing but it's ok, everything else made up for it!! Back to the coconut cake... OMG... I am usually a coconut creme pie girl and it was so much better than that. The most moist piece of cake I have ever had in my life! Such creaminess and amazingness all molded together on one plate and allll mine!! I almost licked the plate... almost! I would like to bathe in it... yes, THAT GOOD!

Our favorite server, Karl, was let go for giving the owner of the shop next door a margarita, and Karl always went out of his way to provide exceptional service to me and my wife! He is the only reason to go to Juliana due to other "hurried" servers on staff. Food is ok, and as Karl says get the bruschetta, "It is the best bruschetta in town" Stay away from this place, and lack of customers tells you something too!

Where do I begin? Chuck and his wife made us feel like royalty from our first step into the restaurant. We had two orders of calamari which is too die for! The vibe is classy but casual and the sea bass, paella, grilled shrimp, and even he hamburger was cooked to order with attention to every detail. I haven't seen such a flawless dinner since my last stop at a 6 star restaurant at Vegas or Miami. You do yourself a disservice if you don't check out this local gem. Service was perfect and the chef went out of his way to satisfy both the adults and the kiddos. Hats off to this team and just wished we lived closer to enjoy it regularly. If you live in college park you have an awesome option right on your doorstep... I'm soooo jealous!

Delicious! I came here with a few family members for dinner. After our dinner and two bottles of wine later, we were all very satisfied. Our orders: Bruschetta - one of the best I've had, fresh & tasty The God Father - both individuals who ordered it were pleased Salmon - great presentation with very tasty cous cous Chicken Angel - rich delicious sauce with chicken breast (one was cooked perfectly, the other a little tough but the rest of the dish made up for it) Coconut cake - share it! it's a big portion, it's super rich and sweet. Homemade and very good (I don't even really care for coconut) The service: Our waiter was Jason. He was attentive, helpful and knowledgeable about the food. This was truly a great overall experience. My sister who is a restaurant snob was quite impressed with my restaurant choice.

Four friends and I came for a quick bite on Saturday night. All the food was decent but for the price, it should have been much better. We ordered 3 apps and each had an entre. The bread came with an aioli which was tasteless. The bruschetta was pretty good but the mussels came in a very bland broth and I am pretty sure they were bought frozen. I had pasta with meat and sausage which I liked but almost everyone else didn't care for their food. The fish especially seemed to be coming out overcooked. It just seemed like everything was under-seasoned and like someone else said, it seemed like everything was bought from Publix and assembled. Wont be back =(

Went on the last night of a Groupon, so they were a little overloaded, but service was still OK. The Chicken Angel was excellent. Everything else was alright, nothing special and not bad.

We stopped in to listen to the live music and I am so glad we did! Unfortunately we had already eaten so we weren't hungry enough for a full dinner. Instead we ordered a bottle of wine and bruschetta. I would normally never rate a restaurant based on one appetizer, but this was the best bruschetta we've ever had... So much so that we cannot wait to go back again for dinner. We've already made plans to bring friends to dinner here with us next weekend.

I was on a mission. Find a place that isn't "break the piggy bank" expensive, but also manages to create that quiet, cozy environment where you can go for a romantic dinner. This means, no techno, loud crowds, and "battle of the shortest skirt contests". This restaurant was a breath of fresh air. Totally decked out in classy Christmas decorations, dimly lit (in a good way), and very price efficient for what you receive. The waitress, Lina, could not have been more charming. Wine - Wine prices were fine, anywhere from $6-$8 a glass, just enough to last through dinner. I didn't see a beer menu, but was on a wine mission anyway. Appetizer - Was hoping to make dinner the big standout, so we only shared the Bruschetta app. WOW, this may be the least expensive appetizer, but it was great. They should call this the "loaded bruschetta" because each of the 5 pieces came with a mountain of kalamata olives, parmesan, onions, and tomatoes. It was one of those things where you could taste each ingredient, and they all just fused together perfectly. Dinner - I got the seafood risotto (w/ perfectly cooked scallops and shrimp), and my partner ordered the crusted grouper. Both well cooked, came out hot, and were delicious. Dessert - So, the coconut cake reviews decided our fate. Haven't made a habit or ordering espresso, so ordered espressos as well. Moist, rich, and delicious......and it made me question why I haven't had coconut cake more often. Wait! Because I haven't had coconut cake quite this good yet! If you've had a big dinner, you could easily split a piece of coconut cake and be more than satisfied. Mission accomplished. Thanks Juliana's.

Great little restaurant. This was our first time there and noticed there were only two other tables while we were there. Service was great, food was delicious. I had the Chicken parmesan and my friend had the seafood scampi. They were great! For dessert, we had the apple crisp and the raspberry cheesecake, both were so hard to tear away from even though we were full! Great little place!

I really like this College Park restaurant. I tried it because of a groupon- but went back within the month. They are never really busy, but the wait staff is always pleasant. We typically order a bottle of wine, an appetizer, two entrees and maybe a dessert. With the groupon, it's about $120. Be careful when ordering wine because they run out of a lot (or just don't order more) so it can be hard to find a decent bottle. The only complaint I have is that the owner doesn't update the website or specials. Sometimes he has fish, sometimes he doesn't. It's beneficial for us to call before to make sure they have everything on hand. (My fiancé and I are pescatarian) One great thing is that the chef can basically make anything you want if you ask. I overheard him accommodating a very picky girl with a very special diet with something that wasn't on the menu. Overall, great food and relaxed atmosphere but a bit pricey.

We have visited Juliana a few times. Usually, it's just us and maybe one other table. I don't understand why it's so empty because the food is really good. I love, love, love their bruschetta. It's an explosion of flavors, at least in my mouth it is. Tomatoes with capers, olives and pecorino cheese. It's been a while and now I want one. We have tried several dishes: Seafood risotto with shrimp, scallops, tomatoes, spinach and parmesan. I liked it but it was a little too al dente for my taste. Grouper stuffed with crabmeat served over spinach risotto. This was really, really good. It was a beautiful piece of fish and they don't skimp on the stuffing either. Filet mignon with garlic whipped potatoes, asparagus and a mushroom cabernet sauce. Nicely cooked piece of filet and the sauce was excellent. Potatoes were delicious. My favorite dish so far. For the dessert we have tried the coconut cake and the tiramisu. The tiramisu won by far. The best I've had so far in the US (you've never had tiramisu until you try it in Italy, trust me). Usually, they put so much coffee on it and that's why I've never been a fan of tiramisu. But they do it right at Juliana's.

Juliana's in downtown College Park squeaks in with a three-star rating. I had dinner there last week with my favorite dining couple who are moving away (guys, I'm gonna miss you like crazy), and we've talked about Juliana's many times, but have never been there as a trio. I've lunched there a couple of times. We were there on a Wednesday evening, and there were only five other tables occupied. Our appetizers were wonderful, the entrees were good, but I've had better. They did have anchovies for the Caesar Salad -- surprisingly some places don't. I ordered their most-ordered entree, Grouper. It was tender, but seemed to lack something in the taste. The service was so very friendly, yet so inept. One of my dining partners ordered a Beefeater martini with no vermouth. It was delivered with mostly vermouth. When he mentioned it to the harried waitress, she came back with a VODKA martini. He just let it go. Still, all in all, I'd recommend Juliana's Fine Tuscan Cuisine.

Awesome ambiance! That's the only positive. Food quality, wine selection, and service suck! Veal was tiny, served cold and most if it was breading. Chicken Parmesan was poorly done and something my son could've cooked. Hope they pick up their act. No wonder there's a groupon :(

Our second time dining at this awesome Italian place, lured by a yelp deal. My wife had the lobster stuffed ravioli and I had the Angel something...Her dish was definitely more memorable both in taste and price. The only thing holding me back from giving this place a full 5 stars was the quality of their bread! It was just 'okay.'

Place was empty so we were a little hesitant. Glad we stopped. Ended up getting the eggplant and zucchini pasta. My girlfriend got the chicken parmesan and both were amazing. Definitely coming back!

Such a disappointment! This was our second visit and we were using a travelzoo voucher. It was a Monday night and didn't expect it to be too busy. There was one waitress and the chef on duty. The wait was VERY long, in fact one family left without being served. It was busy and everyone had some sort of deal/voucher. Our calamari appetizer was oil saturated and flavorless, after 30+ minutes we were given a skimpy basket of garlic bread. We ordered the last filet mignon and grouper entrees that they had. Totally unremarkable dinner. Portions were small and the meat was marginal. The side of "roasted vegetables" were a few pieces of barely cooked zucchini over some fresh spinach . After a long wait the waitress brings us our check. No follow up or offer for dessert. The check included an 18% gratuity and was added incorrectly( $9 extra). Really?? I'm normally a more than generous tipper, but I do expect service. Maybe this fine establish should ditch the deals and focus on great food and service. What a waste!

I love a restaurant that sets itself apart from others in some way. This quaint and cozy little Tuscan eatery is set apart from others in it's atmosphere, which is dimly lit, romantic, and charming. Another way it sets itself apart is the spicy garlic bean dip they serve with the Italian bread before appetizers come out. Finally, this isn't one of those pretentious little Italian restaurants that simply jacks up the price and does nothing to the food. You actually get quality Tuscan food here. I've tried two of their salads: the spinach/walnut salad and the beefsteak tomato salad. They were both excellent. They both come with a different type of dressing: sort of a maroon sweet dressing that can't be quite explained unless you try it. The ingredients were completely fresh. I recommend either one. It depends what you feel like. The entrees were fabulous. I had the chicken penne with artichokes, sundried tomatoes, garlic, basil, etc. Mmmm. For dessert: a bourbon bread pudding that is a perfect way to end the meal. The wine list was very respectable. I chose to go with the red Italian wine: Farnese, which I don't think is from the Tuscany region but rather the Farneto Valley region. We were lucky enough to score windows overlooking Edgewater Drive. It was the one most romantic seat in the restaurant and a perfect place to share a meal with my love. I used to ask, "What's so great about College Park anyway?" Well, come here and you'll get a taste of some of their fine cuisine with a great atmosphere.

This place had some high and low notes. I am really torn. High notes- bruchetta was to die for, as was the coconut cake, I am drooling just thinking about it. Our meals were decent. I had the special of the evening fra diablo. Everything except the mussels were good (they didn't taste fresh) Now for the lows- We were one of 2 tables on a Wednesday evening, and yet the service was slooooooow. The bartender was taking care of us, and because he could not see us from the bar, he never really knew when we needed something. Also, my dining companion ordered a meatball on the side. Some sort of winged insect came crawling off the under side of the plate. We showed the waiter, who removed the bug, but never offered to get a fresh meatball, or give any type of discount, not that we were looking for it, but still, when you pay over $100 for food, you expect some sort of something right? Anyway, we may try it again someday, but Julianas won't be one of our staples.

The bruschetta was awesome! I would go there just for that. I'm looking forward to going again.

Just came back from Juliana's after visiting for the1st time using a Groupon....great place on the College Park neighborhood with a cozy ambiance and great food. We were promptly greeted and seated right away on a table by the window. The lady that serve us was corteous and friendly without being overwhelming she show up at the table at the right tine when we needed something so she was paying attention. We started with a Bruschetta very good bread topped with tomatoes, feta and pecorino cheese with the right balance of olive oil and balsamic vinegar...I was a little stunned to see Feta on a bruschetta but it worked..I ordered a Pinot Noir by the glass (around $9) and I was pleasantly surprised by a generous pour...I don't mind paying almost 10 bucks for a glass of wine as long as they don't do a short pour. The wine list is limited but adecquate.I ordered the shrimp scampi over linguini 4 plump jumbo shrimp perfectly cooked over linguini with a great sauce with a perfect balance of acidity and garlic..My husband ordered the crab crusted Grouper over spinach rissoto flaky tender and perfectly cooked fish over a creamy and tasty Rissoto...perfect portion...now for desert we share a Coconut Cake OMG!!!! Orgasmically Good with the right balance of sweetness....WORTH THE TRIP !!!! A little gem that we definitely will visit again....

Excellent food and service from John. We ordered another apple crisp after five of us finished one. And this after the fantastic rib eye, lamb shank, seafood risotto and scallop carbonara. Will definitely come again when we visit Orlando.

8/17/2012...called ahead to make lunch reservations to celebrate Sister-in-Law's birthday along with my Mother-in-Law of which I was greeted with a warm conversation from Carl, which later learned is Juliana's chef and owner. We were so impressed with the service, initimate ambience--and food was so plentiful, homemade and delicious! We were not disappointed with the bruschetta and I especially recommend Carl's "risotto" ...to die for! At end of meal they surpised the birthday girl (and us) when Carl came out of the kitchen to sing happy birthday along with the staff bringing the most scrumptious slice of coconut cake complete with candle and 3 plates for us to share! They went out of their way to make us feel so special!! To tell you the truth, I think that's just how they are. I was so impressed I reserved tickets for my husband and I to attend tomorrow's dinner show with Donna Moore. Can't wait!

Yum, yum, yum! The nly reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is because the service was very slow and we had to wait 20 minutes before the waitor took our order. The pork was tender and juicy. The steaks were tasty too.

The service was excellent and the food was delicious--a good sign considering we counted for one of the two occupied tables in the entire restaurant late on a Monday night. Entrees range $15-$30 and worth every penny. I decided on the special which featured calamari, squid, clams, shrimp, scallops, and grouper over risotto. My friend ordered the crab crusted grouper with spinach risotto. Juliana's does not skimp! My plate was covered in seafood and both dishes were yuuummmyy. The generous serving of each entree left us full and my friend couldn't even finish hers. I liked this restaurant because they offer more than the typical Italian dishes, although those are available too. They also have several salads and veggie entrees that were quite appealing, and on my way out I noticed a menu with "lighter options." Great place for a quiet dinner and a celebration with friends. They also have a separate banquet rooms for more private occasions.

We walked in and to our surprise there were NO other customers! We almost turned around & walked out. Fortunately, we didn't because we would have missed the best Italian dinner that we ever had! We started off with a bruschetta appetizer--delish! The only problem was that they gave us 5 for a party of 2. How do we split 5? 3-2 split or 2 1/2 each--see the problem? They served a basket of Italian bread and bean dip similar to hummus--can you say yum? For entrees we had pork marsala over wilted spinach and mashed potatoes and a penne dish with spicy sausage, meatballs, eggplant, peppers, and tomato-based bordetta sauce. The pork was juicy, tender & thick. The bordetta sauce was so good I could have made a meal with that and half a loaf of bread! The entire meal was fabulous! We ordered the tiramisu to go-- tasted homemade, but was a bit too wet. The service was excellent (obviously since we were the only ones) the ambiance was very romantic--candlelights, cafe tables & Frank Sinatra music filled the air. The price was fair for the portion. I would highly recommend this restaurant to all and I will definetly be back! Hint: Go Monday nights and be treated like a queen or king, as you prefer.

Visited Orlando last week and found this gem of a resturant. What a gift to the community to have such a fine resturant. We loved all four of our entres, the wine was a perfect suggestion, and we shared a divinely inspired piece of coconut cake. Secret of his wife! We were attracted by the name of the cafe but found the owner , service and wonderful food to be the perfect end to a celebration day.

My boyfriend and I went on a sweet date to Juliana's and had the MOST amazing service by Chris. Highlights: 1. Grouper Special with house spinach risotto was incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. It arrived piping hot and my boyfriend practically licked the plate. 2. Chicken Piccata had the perfect about of lemony-caper light sauce with al dente noodles. I know, I could have chosen something much more original but Chris really sold me on the perfection of the dish and it was better than expected. We could talk endlessly about the coconut cake but Colleen gave it a great review already. Really what made the night so special was our server. I'm such a sucker for a server who enjoys serving and is knowledgeable about the restaurant! He made no excuses, mistakes, or awkward jokes. He was simply entertaining and pleasant. Would go back just for some authentic hospitality from Chris.

Amazing bruschetta..... Great food and atmosphere. We were in from out of town and trying to avoid the touristy fare... This place WILL be on our agenda the next time we're in Orlando.

This Tuscan inspired restaurant in College Park sticks with the simplistic nature of most true Italian restaurants. They offer a few pasta options, a few seafood selections and a few main entrees with an impressive appetizer and dessert list. They also offer a few lighter choices if that's a concern for you. Here's a sampling of what you can expect: Baked Eggplant Cakes, Jumbo Shrimp Tortellini and their own version of the classic Tiramisu. Proudly, they serve Italy's most well-know beer, Peroni. So your meal can be authentic from beginning to end, and everything in between. They have a few tables directly next to their wall of windows which makes for a great seat and vantage point for people watching. Infamous Italian crooners will be playing as well. So be prepared for some Dean and some Frank. On pleasant days, they keep the door open as an invitation to come join them for some goodness. The space is elegant yet rustic and will help to transport you to a small Tuscan village if you really think and imagine hard enough!

Maybe I need to calm down before I write this review. Nah--here goes. I was so excited to find this cute restaurant on Edgewater Drive and remembering my last adventure to K Restaurant on the same street I couldn't wait to go although one of my co-workers told me that I would be sorry. Went on a Saturday night and remembered to make a reservation. Going to cut to the chase here instead of rambling on. Can't believe that I paid $53.00 for two bowls of pasta. One of the pastas was a special for the night--bowl of linguini with 2 shrimp, 2 scallops, 4 mussels and some rather tough calamari in a tomato sauce so spicy hot that it was borderline not edible. Let's just say if you were prone to stomach ulcers then you would be visiting the ER later. I guess what has my panties in a wad is that I'm mad at myself for not being crude and asking the price of the "special" of the night which turned out to be $28.00. Yes--$28.00! OK the filet mignon was $26.00 and a medium sized bowl of pasta with some seafood in it costs more than that. Come on. All of the other pasta dishes were no more than $18.00. My dining partner chose a dish called "The Godfather" which was kind of bland and included the house pasta sauce, 2 meatballs, 2 pieces of sausage and some eggplant over penne. None of the dishes here include a salad which are anywhere from $4 and up but do include some bread which was very good. There were no house wines nor was there any type of happy hour. They did have entertainment but I noticed that people were requesting to be reseated so it might have been too loud as the place is not very big. Lesson learned--listen to your friends and go back to "K" on Edgewater and if I want Italian---Lidos it is.

Disliked the place and service. The prices are low but you get what you pay for because the food taste is below average. Moreover, the server was extremely rude and unfriendly. We would never be back!

So nice! Go here! Lovely small restaurant with GREAT food and excellent service. I was guided to order the bruschetta, spinach salad, shrimp-crusted grouper, and coconut cake. YUM re every one of these items! When I'm back in town, I'll definitely be back. Wish my husband would have been with me: romantic and real. LOVED IT!

Been there twice. The first time was just ok. This time a disaster. Terrible food. Terrible service. Asked for Filet medium. The first time it came out charred outside raw, that's right, raw inside. They then brought it back 5 minutes later. Somewhere between raw and rare. I asked for fish instead and was told no. Third time they brought back filet it was well done. So again I asked for fish. This time the fish was so small it was a joke, exteremely dry. Probably someone's Leftover. My advice... stay away!!!

Wow, talk about a great restaurant! After having one of the worst experiences ever at a restaurant next door, we came to Juliana's and had one of the absolute best! Our server was a real delight, he was funny and charming and he gave us some history about the place and filled us in on specials not on the menu. This ended up being a very good thing, as my friend ended up with a fabulous meal made out of mushroom stuffed ravioli that hopefully will find it's way on the menu as a regular item! I had braised lamb shank over a saffron spinach risotto topped with a mushroom sauce. OMG... it was beyond delicious. The lamb was cooked beautifully, literally falling off the bone and so tender. The risotto was a little salty for me, but I'm a wuss about salt. Still though, it was just fantastic. The real star of the show? Dessert. Coconut Cake. THIS IS THE BEST CAKE IN ORLANDO! Better than the dessert lady, yes. Seriously. Try it, and see if I'm lying. It was nothing short of magical. (Not to over sell it or anything...) It took me far too long to try this place out, and now that I have, I will certainly return!

We ate at this place ten years ago when we moved to College Park. The food was bad, expensive and the service was poor.....fast forward ten years and we saw a Groupon and decided to give it another shot.....thinking it must have been a bad night. Wrong...where do I start? We entered and were greeted by a dirty rag and a bottle of cleaner on the hostess stand. We waited....then were seated at a bad Formica table top with the usual blown out light bulbs. I ordered the seafood risotto...I got the chicken risotto. I have had better from a frozen bag at Walmart. There was a HUGE basket delivered to the table....with two small dried out pieces of bread. I finished my Italian beer....no one ever was available again to ask if I wanted more. No one ever filled my water.....our drinks were gone and never refilled all through dinner. A customer was lectured that the customer was wrong and they wouldn't take their Groupon. It was a very elderly couple....I felt so bad for them....we almost walked out. There was some fat man in sneakers, sweat pants and a very tight t-shirt that delivered food and bossing around the staff. This place would be a great candidate for a full makeover. Old and dirty, rude and uncaring staff, small portions, frozen food at best.....it just doesn't stop. It was ten years.....and now...I can say...we will not both going back again. Very sad music and decor....there are many other places that are soooo much better.

lovely local restaurant. the bruschetta was fresh tasting and lived up to its glowing reviews. Everyone in our party raved about their entrees. The coconut cake, however, was the show stopper - Delicious!

Went there on a date last Saturday night and it was delicious. We had the shrimp cristines to start. We shared the spinach salad and it had the best goat cheese on it. I had the grouper crusted with crab over a spinach risotto. The risotto was perfect. My date had the ahi tuna with pecan crust and tomato risotto also amazing. The best part was the apple tart desert. It was a combination of a crepe and a tart with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. It was so fresh. The chef/owner came by our table which was really nice. I can't wait to return.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
