A little spotty with service when they first opened, several years back. But now? Completely on top of things.. Mostly had the various styles of pizza offered, all incredible, most notably the House Combo. Great, courteous staff and great food...nearly a Saturday evening tradition!

Looking for a good pizza place, this was the first one I tried on the drive-home route. First impression is that it's a BIT expensive for what you get compared to what I'm used to. And I'm not talking the chains, I'm talking about other family-owned establishments on both the east and west coasts. Not the most expensive I ever had, but price-wise they were comparable to the single gem of pizza in SoCal, while not meeting the level on size and taste. Pizza crust was good, but more like what you find in the Pizza Huts of the world than in most family-owned establishments. Toppings were okay, but not great, a little light for the price. I would probably go again in a pinch, but then again, maybe I'd go for Chinese. Not even really interested in going for sit-down, even though the place itself looks really nice, and the staff was friendly enough - it's just too expensive for what it is and what it tastes like.

I hate to say it, but the last two times I've been to the Pie House, the experience has been disappointing. The service has improved mildly, but the pizza itself has gone downhill. It seems like they may be using cheaper ingredients; the sausage I got on my pizza last time was disgusting. Turn it around, Pie House!

We enjoy eating at the Italian House when in the mood for some pizza. The vegetables are generally very fresh and the sauce is a house recipe which has a more unique flavor than other pizza places. The staff is friendly and the owner is almost always on site cooking, greeting guests, etc. The wine list is reasonably good and the overall environment is relaxing but is very simple.

When this place opened a few years ago, I didn't really like it too much. However it has gotten progressively better with each visit, bringing me to a fabulous low key pizza and beer dinner last week. The pizza is home style... not New York style, Chicago style, California style, etc. The crust is doughy and crunchy exactly where it needs to be. I like the selection of toppings, (like sundried tomatoes, ricotta cheese, pesto and roasted garlic.. yum!). The sundried tomato 'vinaigrette' dressing is awesome. It's not really a vinaigrette though... more like an emulsion, but whatever. It's really good, and is served with a hugemongous greek salad. The wraps are baked in a thin dough, so it's kind of like a stromboli. Really good stuff. AND! They finally have beer on tap! Did someone say pitchers? Holla!

Incompetent service, followed by being called a liar and thief, followed by a mediocre pizza. That was my experience with Italian Pie & Pasta House, and it will most definitely be my last. My husband and I ordered from here the first day we moved into our house in the Lake Como neighborhood. The girl on the phone took my order, then I gave her my credit card number. She paused, then said something was wrong with the system and she needed my card number again. Ok, fine, I know computers act up sometimes. Only then she needed it again.... and then AGAIN. I seriously gave her my credit card number FOUR times. Ok, fine, whatever, maybe she was having a bad night. After I hung up I even joked to my husband "this better be some good pizza after all that!" A little while later the delivery guy comes. He tells my husband the total, my husband says I already paid with the card. The delivery driver says our order is marked as "Cash." Are you F-ing kidding me?? After moving all day and being starving, this was the last thing I needed. I told him about my ordeal with the idiot on the phone. He then called his manager, and said his manager wanted to talk to me. THE MANAGER ACCUSED ME OF TRYING TO STEAL THE PIZZA. He said to me "Yeah, it's marked down here that you're paying cash, so I'm going to need you to pay the delivery driver." He had the audacity to say this to me as though I was the one wasting HIS time. Well, of course, I let him have it and told him how incompetent the girl who took my order was, who conveniently was no longer there at the time. I finally then pulled out my phone, logged into my bank account, and showed the delivery driver that WE HAD ALREADY BEEN CHARGED FOR THE PIZZA. Only then did they FINALLY decide to actually believe the customer. After ALL that, I again joked to my husband "This better be the best Goddamn pizza I ever ate." It was mediocre at best, and I would have thought that even if they didn't have idiots and a-holes working there. It was just boring, mediocre, crap pizza that didn't taste like a single fresh thing was used to make it. Pretty sure they use only canned ingredients and frozen dough. If you're in this neighborhood, order from Cornerstone. I have never, nor will I ever, return to this God awful piece of crap restaurant.

I'm the owner of Parlour Salon and Spa around the corner and we order pizza almost every Friday from this great place. Today I was really craving eggplant parmigiana so I ordered it......it is AMAZING!!!! I'm so excited because it is my favorite thing. I highly recommend Italian House everyone. They are super nice as well.....

We live in the area and this our go-to pizza place. We've been ordering from here for years and are never disappointed. The pizzas are pretty authentic, as are their pasta dishes. My favorite is their baked ziti. Coming from an Italian family, this is as good as it gets. Tony, who runs the place, makes you feel right at home when you call or even dine in.

I live in the Lake Como neighborhood and have been here several times. They have been here for years. I so want to like this restaurant but just can't give a thumbs up. The service is fine I have brought two individuals there and at the end of meal the answer was the same. The food is edible and nothing more. I have tried pizza and several other items on the menu and just can't seem to order anything I consider really good.

Awesome fresh italian food. From what I can tell they make everything from scratch. Large portions. What you would expect from a mom and pop local Italian place.

I like this place, they have beer & wine, they have good food, and they deliver. I like their wraps, pizza, and the chicken ziti. They have cleaned up the place since it originally opened and I think it has gotten better every time I go. The pizza has kind of a thin crust and it is tasty. I like the wraps because they offer all the same stuff you could get in a calzone or sandwich without the extra bread calories. Their chicken ziti is my fav so it is hard for me to order a different pasta dish. I did try the spinach lasagna and it had a little too much butter for me. The wings are baked and a friend of mine loves the italian ones. Those suckers are good so if you're with a group get an order! I'm not in love with their tiramisu but their peanut butter cheesecake (I think its cheesecake) is great.

This restaurant is really close to my house, so my husband and I stopped in on a Saturday night when I was craving some pasta. The restaurant appears to be in an old Pizza Hut, and it doesn't look like much from driving by. When we walked in we were promptly greeted by the server. She told us to have a seat wherever we like. She was very quick to greet us, get our drinks, and take our orders. I ordered the vegetarian lasagna and my husband ordered a small pizza. It appeared that there was only one server working that night and the owner was helping her bring out dishes. The food came out very quickly...almost too quickly. I wasn't even done with my salad and roll when the entree came out. After the entree came out, this is where our good service stopped. I was not a fan of the lasagna at all. The lasagna claims to be homemade but to me it looked and tasted like it was reheated. As for the vegetables, all I could taste were green olives. I can stand a couple, but green olives have a very distinct taste, and there were just way too many in the lasagna. My husband said the pizza was good. I tasted some and it was alright. I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again. While we were eating my husband finished up his soda and was waiting for a refill. The owner came over to take is glass, but didn't return it until at least 5 minutes later. We also sat for quite awhile before we got our bill. The worst part was sitting another 10 minutes just waiting to pay. Our server was very nice, but she had at least 6 other tables. She noticed that I didn't eat any of the lasagna. I told her I wasn't a fan of the green olives. She did offer to have them make me something else instead. After sitting around and waiting for the bill and to pay, I was just ready to leave. I will probably try this place again. I will just try something else off the menu next time.

Great neighborhood spot. The food is consistently good, and the staff is very friendly. My wife loves the gluten-free pizza, and I've never been disappointed with the meatball calzone.

I like to go here with my wife and son. We like Italian, and we can pick from a great menu. My son and I went today. He had the kids meal (Mac and cheese) and I was surprised it was a full meal with dessert. For $6! I had the calzone....just as good as any Italian spot in town. Only reason I give 4 stars is I couldn't see in the restroom because the lights were not turned on....and there is not a switch in the restroom. I would recommend.

My favorite pizza place in Orlando for one simple fact: sun dried tomato pizza. I would light my prized collection of Ninja Turtle action figured on fire (even the Donatellos!) for just one slice of this Basil-carpeted masterpiece. I trade out the ricotta for feta, but that's just because I personally can't stand that tasteless muck. My girl friend usually gets spinach and artichoke pie, which is almost as good (in the same was that a bath tub is almost as wet as the Atlantic). Their appetizers aren't that great and the service is hit or miss, but it's worth it. Speaking of worth, the prices are crazy cheap. It's usually just shy of $30 to get two pizzas no human could finish in one sitting plus one of those mediocre appetizers I was talking about. Anyway, this is the first fiver I'm giving, so I hope you can appreciate the gravity of how great this pizza is. I also think they have pasta or something.

Good Calzone! Pretty good pizza! Good pasta! In an old pizza hut so don't expect a swanky joint

I totally agree with G.R. M.'s review. I used to like this place - but after the last time I was there I won't go back. The kid's pizza my son had seemed like it was something they had brought in frozen & the veggie lasagna seemed old & didn't taste good at all. I feel bad for mom & pop places that are struggling in the bad economy but if you compromise your food standards you'll end up losing your remaining customers!

I stand by everything I said the last time, except I have now had Brick and Fire and I think their pizza is better. "It doesn't look like much from the outside, but trust me on how good the pizza is. They are one of the only places where the crust is good as opposed to just the crummy leftover of the pizza that I don't want to eat. They also have an excellent pizza sauce they use rather than the pizza tasting like ragu was used to lubricate it. And don't even get me started on the toppings, they do that right also. My wife gets mushroom on all her pizza and this is one of the only places where the mushrooms don't look like they were drained out of a can 5 minutes before being tossed on the pizza." Also since we got that one not as good pizza, we have gotten a few that were back to the normal standard of excellence.

I've only had takeout here and will likely continue that. The pizza is good and the spinach salad is surprisingly tasty. The service has always been fast and very friendly.

I LOVE this place! Great pizza with many fresh toppings to choose from. They actually have ground beef as an option instead of those stank frozen meatballs. My favorite meal is the cheese manicotti ordered with meat sauce with a salad True comfort food. The owner and staff are super nice.

I have to say I am quite disappointed in this visit. I ordered the veal Parmesan for lunch. The video was so dry and so overcooked that all I could taste was the burnt crust. I didn't even eat half of the entrée. I did eat the ziti side and had a bowl of soup- instead of a salad. I have been to this establishment many times in the past and have always enjoyed their pizza. This was a disappointing visit for sure.

Italian House Gourmet Pizzeria has wonderful homemade food in a comfortable setting, good service and affordable prices. It's not fancy, but it is delicious. They deliver, too! Ask for Ivette!

We just moved to the Lake Como neighborhood and received a menu for this place in the mail. While most of our stuff was still packed away, and not really in the mood for cooking, we decided to get takeout. Now, I'm not usually a fan of takeout, as I like the experience of dining in a restaurant. But, I was craving Italian and decided to give this place a shot. Located in a former Pizza Hut (that was obvious upon parking), the decor is quirky but classy. Bright and colorful, but nothing fancy. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming me to the neighborhood and making several recommendations. I also inquired about some ingredients they use, as my wife has several severe allergies. While my wife can't really eat anything here, I am pleased to say the young woman helping me politely asked the staff and was eager to get me all of the info I needed. I ordered a chicken alfredo wrap. When I got home, I was pleased to see it held up nicely. Of course, it was a big soggy from the trip home, but no big deal..I expected that. The flavors were nice and the sauce that accompanied it was a good touch. I look forwrad to trying more meals here, including a pizza at some point. I'd like to dine-in to see what that experience is like. Most people seem to find it a good place to eat, but this is not a fancy date-night location by any means. But, it seems that if you're in the area and craving Italian, this is your best bet.

Best pizza ever. As a pizza aficionado, I love all kinds of pizza, but this is hands down the best in Orlando. They even add breaded chicken for my husband to make a chicken parm pizza for his fat kid delight. Friendly, fast, and even on my way home from work, this place is my restaurant of choice for delivery, take out, and all things pizza. My husband also likes their chicken parm sub and wings.

Such a surprising place, with incredible pizza! I really love the specialty pizzas, very unique and delicious. My wife isn't a fan of marinara sauce, so she really likes the options with garlic sauce. The staff is always friendly and the service is fast.

I am reviewing only the pizza. I moved to orlando about 8 months ago and since then I have tried countless pizza places like ninos pizza and del dio (both were great) and can say without a doubt that this is the best in orlando.

Honestly, I was happy with everything until I dealt with Andrew. I don't know what his problem was , but he was rude and horrible. I honestly have never been so offended with words in my life. How can someone be so bitter towards another human being. I hope he finds happiness in his live and can chill out. Honestly this review doesn't not deal with the business, everything in that spectacular was perfect, but my experience with Andrew was atrocious. Look out for him, he's the red headed dude with the beard.

We are regulars here because the food is consistently good and the service is prompt accurate and friendly. I normally have either the fettuccine carbonara or spaghetti and meatballs, you can go wrong with either.

I've driven by the Italian House countless times, but never stopped until yesterday. I needed to grab a bite to eat after a long run - and had a serious carb craving. I placed a to-go order, so I can't comment on table service or delivery. But the staff who took my order were very friendly. I picked up a dinner order of spaghetti and meatballs (again, I was craving the carbs). For $11, I got enough pasta for dinner and the following day's lunch, a small salad and bread. Not shabby. The sauce was good - a little on the tangy side. The meatballs were good, as well. I will definately be back to try some of their other items. It's nice to have a good go-to spot right in the neighborhood.

We only got takeout pizza so this is a limited review. We've been wanting to try this place for a while since we live close by. The customer service was great and the pizza was ready quick. We got a large Italian sausage pizza. Pizzas are thin, New York style with a relatively thin crust. The crust is a bit bland, but the pizza itself had great flavor. Love the sauce and the toppings are fresh. Will definitely eat here again.

Yummy yummy!!! My fave local Italian spot. The mini 8 inch pie is so good my 3 yr old will eat no other pizza!!! It's like a mini deep dish. My older son loves the Hawaiian... I can't lie love it too so he always saves me a piece!! And my personal all time fave is the Bowie chicken!!! Omg! It's to die for. Def hits the spot. The wings are always a good choice as well!!! Everything I have tried is super yummy!

I've been wanting to try this place. I drive by often and the idea of a neighborhood Italian place serving homemade food sounded promising. My wife and I ordered buffalo wings as an appetizer and eggplant parm with ziti as an entree to share. The food wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either. It all appeared to be the type of thing that comes from an industrial food supplier then warmed up in the kitchen and covered in cheese. If it is homemade, the cook makes food that tastes like it was frozen and warmed up. On the bright side our service was great - the waitress was friendly and attentive.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
