What had drawn me to this place was the clientele. They were mostly from Great Britain. Now you know they love their Indian food for obvious reasons, and they were correct. This is as genuine as you can get. I am almost positive this is a family run operation because of the quirky service but they are mostly attentive to your needs. There was no waiting for anything we were waited on right away. They have a fabulous garlic Naan, which is my favorite. You can go vegetarian or not, either way the food is excellent.

Worst Indian food I ever had!!! I ordered Keema Mutter and Kadhai Paneer, to only find that none of them tasted like anything they should have ideally tasted anywhere else in the world. Probably, bcos they just used some old curry sitting in their refrigerator or the chef has no idea what he is cooking. Both the dishes tasted same and tasted BADDDDD!!!! The vegetables were soggy and rotten and the only good thing was the nan. But did not have much use, since we ended up trashing the entire order. It was also one of the most expensive Indian restaurants I have been to in US ($38 for two entrees+2 nans). Even the rice was bad. Probably they used some cheap quality from the wholesale market instead of any basmati rice.

Chose this place randomly since we were in the area and wanted indian food. I felt the food was mediocre. The Garlic Naan wasn't made with fresh garlic. I had better at other restaurants. I also ordered a Chicken Kadhi, which was good, the spice was there, don't really have complaints on that. Other dishes that were ordered was Lamb Vindaloo and Chicken Tika Masala. Both were sadly disappointing and it was lack of meat for the amount you pay. The Chicken Kadhi had more meat than the two dish combine. Also the Tika Masala wasn't the normal red color you usually find at most places. Customer service was very slow and I witness the actual owner screaming at a family for moving to a different table because there was a cold chill coming from the door at the table they were sitting at before. They ended up just walking out. It was completely rude and disrespectful to be yelling at customers for moving to a different table, it wasn't even busy at all. It was practically humiliating as everyone at the restaurant was a spectator for this.

We found this great Indian spot because it's in one of our favorite areas of Orlando (because it's close the Outlet Mall:) and were not disappointed! Pros: Large selection of tasty vegetarian dishes! We're all veg's, so this is a must. The samosas were fabulous and the naan was perfect. Also, I usually don't like TVs in my restaurant choices, but they had Indian music videos on the whole time - dinner AND a show! The service was mixed. Really good people when you could get their attention, but you had to get it. Chatty, friendly when you did too. Cons: They're not big on Air Conditioning, but did crank it up when I asked. A little slow on service off the mark. All in all, this is a great spot for vegetarians. We'll be adding it to our regular Lake Buena Vista area list along with Habbibi's and Chevy's.

It was less than mediocre. Service was slow. It took awhile for someone to come check on us and i hate having to ask for a water refill twice. Generally, it also bothers me when people who arrive after us, get their food before us. The food was just okay too. a little below average i would say. I had the Chicken Tikka Marsala, and i can tell you, i've definitely had better. I also had their garlic naan, which lacks in comparison to other garlic naan. It was not covered in fresh garlic as i hoped. I think the most important part in this review is the customer service. There was barely any. This family walked in and was seated by the door, and they moved closer to the middle of the restaurant because they got cold. later as they were waiting to order, they complained that they were not being helped for a long time. The host or owner, raised his voice yelling that they should have told someone they were switching tables. At this point, the whole restuarant stopped eating and stared at this situation unfolding. I have to side with the family because it honestly did take long to get service and he was turning the blame on the family for moving tables. They literally moved two tables over and it was not busy. When the family asked the owner for an apology for raising his voice and embarrassing the family in front of the entire restuarant, the owner refused and continued to say that this would not have happened if they had just told someone they were switching tables. The family stood up and left. I'm sure it was a rare occasion that this happens, but before that happened, i was already thinking about my review, and i was going to give it 2 stars. i would like to give it a 1.5 but since i can't, a 1 start will suffice. I'm not going to say stay away, but i am going to say that there are better options to eat in orlando.

There is a lack of organization. We waited for 10 mins to be seated, they saw us waiting and there were 20 empty tables but they were really busy with the 4 tables where people were eating to seat us. It took 1 hour for the food to come. The server was not professional. The bathroom was dirty. The staff was talking ti each other real loud and were mostly arguing. The decor was outdated and dirty. The food was nice.

Excuse me? What did you say? I can't hear you! The waiter muttered the whole time and I probably only got the last word of his sentences. Even when I asked him to speak up, he just grunted even more. You walk in at 5pm and there are a few other groups there...yet it is dead silent. Awkward. However, it took forever to get water. Ugh..I expect my water in less than 5 mins of me sitting down. Is that too much to ask for? So I had the chicken curry--it was ok. Not great..I've had better Indian curry before. Nothing else I got was worth mentioning. I think the best part was us leaving...

It is very very average indian food. Service is not good at all...the menu said 8 items for "thali" and they gave us only 5. When We asked about it...they said, the menu is old. Well we ordered based on the menu! i would NOT recommend it to anyone.

Ok...very few patrons on a Saturday night...shrimp korma was rubber, probably frozen not fresh....cost 17 bucks...recommend to wait in line in other more desired restaurants...will not return...

Re-read the girl's review below (***update more people have added- see the one star and figure it out what i'm talking about) and do it in a valley girl accent. Yea, I'm sure the creditability is still there. Disregard all posts below this one. Things are different. The place is now under the magnificent leadership of the head cook, Jesus this place was good. Yes it was quiet; yes, the place had an intimate feel, but that's the point. You come there to eat, stuff your face, and waddle away happy as manatee in these parts (you've seen how fat and happy they are-same thing). Me and my partner got (by the way their webpage is tip-top) the vegetable pakora, cheese pakora, and mirchi pakora. The veggie, was simply one of the best things that I have ever had, just like tempura but with better dipping sauces (a green chimichurri like cream sauce, tomato dice sauce, and something brown and tangy/barbecue), she got the veggie vindaloo, and I got the lamb shahi korma. Both were very good. The lamb was especially tender, and moist, with a great sause. We chitchatted with the owner, had a couple laughs; and had a great service from the wait staff. indian tea, and two mango lassis=$25. beat that! A serious contender for the best Indian place that I have been to, and second best for my partner. Out of Boulder, Denver, San Francisco, Miami, Dallas, and Fort Collins, I like this place the most. Enjoy it.

When you read a review of a restaurant, there are several things you're going to be looking for. Right away you're going to want to know if the food is generally good or bad, how the atmosphere is, how much it costs, and whether the service is up-to-par. Why else would you want to read a review? Certainly not because you wanted read some hypothetical questions. Not because you want to read about what should be in a review. You just want a review without having to sit around reading a worthless foreword to a review. That's why this is a bad review. Except that you also want a review to paint an overall picture of what a restaurant is like. Sadly, eating at India Palace feels just like reading this review: You have to sit and wait for way too long before you realize that the substance isn't half bad. We were starving, but we had to wait forever before we got water, before we could order, before we got our food. Our appetizer was Garlic Naan, and it was the last thing to show up (with only a faint trace of garlic), making it worthless as an appetizer. We got Bengan Bhartha, Palak Paneer, and a chicken dish. They were all perfectly tasty, to the extent that one can really tell when so hungry. Later we were trying to get the check, and the woman who should have brought it to us was off helping her kids with their homework or something. That earns her 5 stars as a Mom, not so much as a waitress. Eventually we went up to the counter and got it. Turned out it was ridiculously overpriced. Food is fine, but not worth the price, the wait, or the annoyance of being ignored.

I luv this place!!! It's real Indian food. The mongo laida is great, and chicken curry is also delicious. You can even order extremely hot if u like! Highly recommended.

This place is dreadful. I've had a lot of Indian food, all over the world, and this one takes the prize for worse ever. Rice is lumpy, probably reheated from day before. Chicken tiki masala had four small cubes of chicken and one small piece of green pepper for $15. $5 "Salad" was mostly woody stems and 90% of it was actually cherry tomatoes (and no salad dressing). Even the water tastes like it's been in a plastic bucket for a few days in the heat. The waiter was friendly but took way too long to get me the bill while he talked on the phone. Don't eat here.

Although there were quite a few Indian customers, which is usually a sign that the place is authentic and good, I've had some AUTHENTIC Indian food and this was alright. I've had better but just not anywhere in this area. If you do end up trying this place out, go with the Tandori platter. They bake it in a traditional clay oven and I think that's their specialty anyway. The big disappointment was their naan! They were more like little pancakes gone wrong. Too dense to be naan. One thing that I learned from my friend in India is that naan should be soft to the touch, not chewy, you should be able to tear it apart with one hand (traditionally you only eat with the right hand in India) and this was nowhere close to it. It should also come in a oblong shape cut into 3 equal parts; not round and cut like a pie. That said, I'm still looking for a GOOD AUTHENTIC Indian restaurant in south west Orlando.

We visited this place because it was close to the resort we were staying and that we thought we were getting a good deal from restaurant.com . Well, well, little did we know that this was a scam. The owner suggested that we get the dinner for two, which included appetizers, entrees and desserts. We food is eh, a lot less than what I was expecting. It came out at a relatively okay pace, considering that we were the only ones seated in the restaurant. The portions should have been bigger because it's supposed to be for two people. The bill...the bill came out to be $50 with our $20 gift certificate. They also charged us $17 for gratuity which ended up being 25% of what the bill originally was for. This place, like a majority of the indian restaurants in Orlando is a rip off and over charge for food that is cheap to make. Not to mention it doesn't take like authentic indian food. Not again!

An average restaurant with comparatively higher prices. I went twice with my family who were holidaying in Orlando. The second time when I went, it was around 10pm and the manager still allowed our party to place the order. However, there was a turn of events in 5 mins when the lady server started behaving so anxiously and got us incorrect order. They were non courteous and presented us with the check without even a second thought of asking for desserts or water. The staff was running in circles and the situation got me panicked. I somehow completed the meal and rushed out. They should serve the customers properly if they have allowed an entry. The ambience is very good, appropriate for a good Indian Pakistani restaurant. Food is kind of average. A regular meal of Dal Makhani and Rogan Josh is a 3/5. Make sure to ask if the lady still has anxiety problems before you enter.

The decor is very nice and the waiter was very sweet. Food was good, I had the fish masala and I ordered medium spice and it was good. The rice was great and fluffy and they serve you a lot. The naan and Dahl was delicious. Good Indian cuisine. Whenever we are in Orlando we will definitely come back!

Worst restaurant ... spoiling reputation of other good Indian restaurants near by. Please avoid this place for horrible food, rude staff and dingy conditions. I ordered vegetable soup and egg fried rice and what was served to me was anything but the ordered dish. Egg fried rice was heated rice with few pieces of omlette and vegetable soup was forgettable too. Not sure folks who have give four stars are for real or not.

I am shocked India Palace is ranked so low on Yelp (currently 2 stars) and I admit I didn't really want to try this restaurant based on the low rating. However, I'm very pleased that I visited this place. The restaurant has a wonderful lunch menu with $8.95 options that include an entrée and a variety of sides. I tried the Lamb Curry and the Mango Lassi. The Lamb Curry was tender and flavorful. This dish was not spicy so it's a good option for anyone who does not like spicy foods. The Mango Lassi is a mango-yogurt drink that is sweet and has a rich mango flavor. Overall India Palace serves quality Indian food at reasonable prices and is a great option if you are looking for a non-touristy dining option in the Downtown Disney area.

Incredibly attentive staff and very humble and friendly. The establishment is very nicely decorated and clean. I enjoy the food here A LOT. I found the flavors to be full and satisfying. Definitely try the Mango Lassi too! I saw some reviews about cold food and etc and so on.. I have not once had that problem here as of so far. I was here last time for dinner and it was wonderful. This time around I am here for lunch. $8.95 special with a lot of food? Yes, please, and thank you. If you are looking to try something different or new, I would recommend this place. Their Naan bread is deeelish! Keep it up India Palace!

I've been sampling different Indian restaurants in the area in hopes of finding a regular. So far this is the place. Lower prices than other surrounding establishments but no sacrifice to taste and quality. Friendly staff and good food make for a happy me.

Absolutely the worst Indian food I've ever ate. I've had some great Indian food in my life this would be the worst. Their chicken tikka masala isn't even close to what it should be, butter chicken horrible.... Stay clear of this place.

Lumpy rice. Uninspired, tired curry. When I complained, I was given a better kidney bean dish, but not excellent. I had trouble understanding the waiter. I did enjoy watching the Hindi movie song medley. India Palace will do in a pinch, but if you have choices, take them.

Really nice guys here. Really aim to pleas. Overall, the food was good. Tandoori chicken was a bit dry but the lamb curry was pretty tasty. Samosas were on point, as well. I just happened to come by here on a whim. Feed me and the girlfriend for under $50 for dinner. Get the chef special for two. Lets you sample quite a bit of the appetizers, two enters, followed by a dessert. I would come back.

I feel awful that I am spending my time to review this place but I did spend my time to eat their food. This review is going to be brief. This place was so bad and so "un-Indian" that I refused to eat their food. My "Fight or Flight" Instinct told me to fly. Fly as far and as quickly as possible. The unfortunate thing is that I know for a fact that I am not the only person who avoided the food at first sight. The point of view that India Palace has "authentic Indian cuisine" is wholly unsupported and incredible. This establishment cannot be considered to be true Indian food. Butter Chicken is supposed to be a bright orange to red color and somehow India Palace managed to serve yellow Butter Chicken. I'm not sure how many spices and vegetables they are missing, but there's a serious problem when a staple dish is prepared so poorly. I respect that they are a small business trying to succeed, but proper cooking etiquette is in order. Worst Indian in Orlando, and that is saying something. Fellow Yelper, fly as far and as quickly as possible. Don't listen, and you'll be doing the same at dinner.

If you're looking for true northern indian food this is the place for you. If you eat out not because of impeccable service but because of authenticity; you must try this place. The ambiance feels as if you are india, all the employees are indian as well as most of the clientele.I can tell that the menu can be intimidating, if you are not an expert with Indian food, but they'll help you however they can (even if the servers english is hard to understand) and you'll love it. Here's a list of things that we ordered and loved: Mango lassi (a juice) Saag paneer Mutter paneer Malai kofta Paneer masala Tandoori chicken

The kadai chicken has 2 pieces of chicken in it and tons of onion. The naan we ordered was cold and rest of the food not any good. The waiter and other servers there seems to have no interest in serving you. Glad this is the first and last time we will visit this place. I see that the Business Owner is responding to some reviews, hopefully he/she and the owner take note of the bad reviews and improve. Food really sucks here. Sorry really sucks.

Wasted money and time . Ordered for to go .chicken tikka masala was worst . Can say it was not chicken tikka masala what they gave us . Don't recommend any one to go there .

Stay away. My first sign should have been the mold on the ceiling tile, unfortunately I didn't notice it until the samosa was served, which happened to be the best part of dinner. Ordered chicken tikka masala and literally there were 6 pieces of chicken the size of a half dollar. Served with hard rice. The cheese naan was small with very little cheese. Coke served by the can so no refills. Go somewhere else and save the time and money.

For the price I really wasn't impressed. The flavor was on the bland side and the service just wasn't there. Took forever for us to have our drink orders taken and then even longer for them to actually make it to the table. If it wasn't for us being with friends we would have left.
