As a vegan with allergies, I usually can't have much at Italian restaurants (yeah, I'm a fun date), although I'm forever drawn to them anyway because I love my carbs. However, Il Pescatore is really awesome about being careful with allergens in the kitchen, knowing what ingredients are in what dishes, and helping you find a dish that will accommodate any dietary restriction. This is HUGE in my book. Since I wanted to play it safe for my first time, I went with a simple penne with their marinara sauce and broccoli. Now, I've made this dish at home, and it's usually lackluster and makes me rethink all my choices in life. But their marinara sauce is delicious! It's not too greasy like some other places (looking at you Olive Garden) and the flavor is rich and leaves you satisfied with even the most simple of pasta dishes. The environment is absolutely adorable and the Italian feel of it with hints of kitchy decorations leaves it feeling more authentic than some places that look like they hired a designer to interpret what an Italian fine dining restaurant should look like. I'm not sure if it was the owner or chef or manager who walked by and checked on us, but the guy who did made us feel welcome without being overly excitable and cheesy, and his old, faded tattoo and look in his eyes made it feel like he'd seen some sh*t in the "old country" and this was a very authentic Italian restaurant with possible mob connections. OR, I've just watched too many episodes of The Sopranos and I need to stop stereotyping. Either way, it was delicious and I can't wait to take my husband here!

Four stars for the old-school charm, friendly service and solid food quality. I've lived in Orlando for thirteen years, but I've just recently made it into Il Pescatore. I wish I hadn't waited so long! First, this by no means is a fancy restaurant. It doesn't pretend to be either. It reminds me of something you'd see in the 70s or 80s. Cute, quaint. Lots of eclectic "Italian" looking decorations everywhere. Could it be a bit "cleaner" feeling? Sure, but I kind of like it the way it is! The service the two times I've been has been stellar. Everyone is polite and quick. The most recent time we went, we were seated at a table, but my very pregnant wife noticed an open booth. She prefers booths lately, and asked if we could move. The manager (owner?) Smiled and said "of course!" The food is as good as the service. I've had two meals, chicken parmesan and the pollo di Stefano. Both were great, but I preferred the Stefano. Light, yet hearty portions. I was a little confused by the side of pasta with marinara sauce, as it totally clashed with the lemon garlic sauce of the main dish, but this is a slight hiccup. All in all, this is a great place for a casual meal or even a date night for those that don't mind the charm and novelty of a restaurant from another era.

Real Italian food with big flavor. This place has a genuine family feel. It's not fancy. Most of the patrons seem to be families. The servers treat you like you're part of their family (in a good way). I just really like this place. The food is great. What this place isn't is one of those Italian restaurants that is a glorified pizza place that also has pasta. It's also not trying to be fine dining. It's just very, very good food. The classics are done really well, but I like the house specialties. Tortellini de Stefano is my favorite. Food comes out piping hot and I feel like every dish I've had just has more flavor than it does anywhere else.

I've found my favorite Italian dish. And its here. And I can't get enough. (which is unfortunate for my waist line) We had a great server recommend her favorite dish and from that point on I cannot order anything else- Penne alla romana add chicken and spinach. SO SO GOOD. Prosciutto, peas, chicken, spinach, garlic cream sauce?! Sorry pants, you better get stretchy cause I'm gonna polish off probably 4,000 cals in a sitting and give ZERO F*&^s about it!

We drove 30 minutes from our hotel to try this place because the reviews were genuinely good everywhere we searched. . The place was likely built in the 70's and looks as if it has not been worked on since. Never the less, there must be a little old Sicilian lady cooking in the back! The food was authentic and served with kindness. Great flavor on several entrees ordered. The red sauce is better than that at most Italian restaurants.... Very flavorful and zesty! The fettuccine Alfredo was very good Manicotti, cannelloni and stuffed shells did not disappoint. This place is where the locals in Orlando go to eat Italian food... And I can see why! Ask for Richie, he is the manager and goes out of his way to make sure everything is perfect!

God bless their garlic bread. Right when we walked in we were greeted warmly. We had cheesy garlic bread with Alfredo dipping sauce as an app and holy mother of pearl, it was delicious. My entree, baked ziti, came with a side salad. Nothing special, just a regular Caesar. The pasta was very flavorful and came in a large portion, I'll have leftovers for 2 days at least. The decor could use updating, but hey - the food is great and the service was awesome, so whatever. Loved it and will be back!

A wonderful Classic Italian restaurant/diner. One of the local holes in the wall that will leave you asking when you can return. Huge portions, a decent house salad, reasonable Italian wines (low to mid-range), and attentive servers who will remember you. Certainly not health food, but a mainstay in our rotation when we want a good Italian dinner without having to dress up. Recommended.

I hadn't been to an Italian restaurant in the longest time until today. Inside of Il Pescatore, it was very homey and comfortable. We were greeted by the front door person with a smile and a welcome. The food was great- I had the Cannelloni Florentine- it was pretty much manicotti with meat, cheese and spinach. It was delicious. All the entrees come with a salad prior to the actual meal so that's always nice. Service was great. The girl that was serving our table was attentive, and friendly with genuine smiles. Good stuff. I enjoyed it!

Co workers took me here for lunch. I had the italian wedding soup with the antipasto salad. They had chicken parm and lasagna. Everyone enjoyed their meals but nothing stood out to us. Seemed like every other Italian restaurant.

Okay, so I have mixed feelings about this review because four weeks ago I was in Venice, Italy and so in writing this review I have the experience of that food in the back of my mind, which is _such_ an unfair bias. I think if I didn't live in Europe or have the "real" Italian food experience of Venice, I wouldn't know any better and think this place is decent for Italian food. But, I have experienced eating pasta in Italy, and those memories and tastes are unforgettable. So with that caveat in mind, on with my review and experience. I challenged my local friends to take me to the best local Italian (in their opinion) and they picked this restaurant. We were supposed to meet at 6:30 and since we only left work at 6:20, my brother called up the restaurant and asked them to let our friends know we'd be 20 mins late (we didn't have their cell ph nos). Got to the restaurant and found that our msg had not been delivered, and our friends had been wondering if we had forgotten or blown them off. So not a great start, but sitting down in the lovely back room, with beautiful murals of Italy that reminded us of Venice, and In the company of good friends, I was happy. We experienced lovely and cheerful if slightly forgetful service, in that both the wine and salad main that I had ordered did not come till my dining companions were well into their options. My salad when it did finally come had great vinaigrette and fresh leaves, but the mozzarella was super tasteless and in contrast to the salads in Italy which served me baby tomatoes, I had big fat spongy big red ones, that tasted pretty blah. I also tasted a bit of my brother's pasta and the sauce didn't taste as if it was made with olive oil or butter - it congealed similar to margarine and it was so thick and goopy, I was glad I hadn't ordered any pasta. Also the absolute worst tiramisu I have ever had in my life. The mascarpone tasted like sawdust whipped in lard and they must have used a cheap Marsala wine substitute which frankly tasted very chemically to me. So meal definitely did not end on a high note and I don't plan on coming back.

Truly some of the best, most delicious, and created by skilled chefs for real Italian foods. Their extensive menu selections offer anyone's palette a truly enjoyable lunch or dinner treat. The food is superb, portion sizes large (leftovers for next day!!!!) and their prices are very reasonable. Without a doubt, the best food and value of any other authentic Italian restaurant. Always a pleasure to dine at, be greeted by Tony (Owner), Richie (long term server) or any of the other staff. Thank You to everyone at Il Piscatore for your efforts.

Eating here transported me to a cozy Italian restaurant you would find up in the Northeast. Authentic taste and friendly service. The owner is involved in the serving of his patrons and makes you feel like he truly appreciates you being there. My husband and I could not stop raving about our meal (pollo alla bolognese and pollo stefano). Superb! Cannot wait to go back and bring friends and family. Buon appetito!

4 Stars because the food was fabulous, but there was a snag at the end of the night... First off, I love the location! Right by Pho Hoa and the amazing Walls of Pho Hoa (permission walls where incredible graffiti artists and muralists can apply to paint). Il Pescatore is the real deal. It definitely feels like a legit family-run Italian restaurant. I read a few reviews and ordered the Linguini con Vongole - clams with white sauce (you can also choose the red sauce). The dish could have easily fed two people! I ate as much as I could and used the divine garlic bread they provided the table to soak up some of the sauce. The sauce was tart and refreshing and must be made with a heavy dose of wine- MMMMmmm! The dish came with a salad which was very enjoyable and included olives (yay!), tomatoes, and onions. We had a lovely time until it seemed we were the last people in the restaurant and the server started vacuuming... It was 9:10, so I thought maybe they close at 9 and we were holding them up. We all kind of paused mid sentence and started packing up. It was a bit awkward. When I left I checked the hours on the door and they actually are open until 9:30pm. This rubbed us all the wrong way because the vacuum was loud enough that it interrupted the end of our dinner and made us feel like we'd overstayed our welcome... Other than that though, the food and ambiance was great!

I haven't been here in awhile because of some issues I have with garlic. But I've been missing this place. So I decided to give it a chance. It was still as good as ever. I had the manicotti it is still the best! Plus there did not seem to be much garlic so my stomach was also happy

If excellent, traditional, no frills Italian cuisine is what you seek...look no further. Il Pescatore should be your destination. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, generous portions are always the standard here. Make no mistake, the food is the priority and the star here. Il Pescatore has successfully mastered the principle of keeping it simple and doing it right. Bellissimo

The only thing upsetting about my visit was the fact that I haven't been here sooner. Marie is a great server!!!Attentive, patient and knowledgeable. We got the Pomodori Caprera and garlic bread to start, and then got the Penne Con Pollo & Broccoli and the Tortellini Di Stefano.....so full and with leftovers too! I'll be back with more friends for sure!

I had no idea what to expect coming in here, but after seeing the pics on yelp and checking out their menu, I knew I had to give it a try. Lately I've kinda been going around town and eating at Mom and Pop Italian places to get a taste for what Orlando really has to offer before I travel up north again where they say that "The real Italian food" exists outside of Italy. Honestly, my expectations were completely and totally blown away. I mean, I had an idea that it would be good seeing as the place was packed on a Wednesday but man, when my taste buds assimilated the flavors of that pasta in white clam sauce, I was - this close to standing up on the booth to sing opera. HOLY COW was it delicious. I'm sitting there eating like there was a fire I needed to put out and I hardly ever do that, but it was deliciously hot right out of the skillet, and the flavors!!! Just incredible flavors melding together so beautifully! The moment the waitress placed the plate in front of me, the first thing that I could immediately smell was the garlic and the wine in the sauce. The clams were meaty and fresh and just incredible. That white sauce is phenomenal! Do yourself a favor and take a piece of bread to sop up all the juices, leave the plate in such a state that the dishwasher guy is gonna wonder what the hell happened. Oh man, I know I'm going on and on about it, but it was pretty damn incredible. Service was excellent, I think it was the owner that came by while I was eating for my life, must have heard me slurping away like I was eating pho and asked: "you alright?" When I finally came up for air, I wiped my mouth and told him "This is incredible." and it was. I'm so glad the waitress recommended this dish because I came close to getting just regular spaghetti and meatballs and I'm sure that would have been delicious but this was ... Well you know, and if you don't know, go find out.

My wife and I first visited Il Pescatore 18 months ago while vacationing in Orlando. I'm from North Jersey where there is no shortage of top shelf Italian eateries. Il Pescatore can hold its own against any of them. First, let me address the criticisms of other reviews that criticize Il Pescatore for its dated interior. You are mistaking this restaurant for a place where you have to dress to the nines and pay for the ambiance more than the food. Il Pescatore is unpretentious, which is charming in its own right. There is something to be said for a restaurant that embraces the hole-in-the-wall motif. Il Pescatore does not try to be something it is not, and therefore is exactly what it should be: a friendly local Italian eatery that serves great food at fair prices. While my wife and I don't live in the Orlando area (yet), we are recognized as repeat customers by Tony (the owner) and Rich (the manager). We are made to feel welcome. Our last visit on 3/6/15 was no different. Our daughter works for Disney, so we decided to visit and treat her a good meal. They split the chicken parm and I had the veal marsala. Both dishes were excellent. The cannoli for dessert was very good. Rich waited on us personally on this visit. Thank you, Rich!

Two visits and two successful meals. I came for lunch and came back again for a dinner a few weeks later. If you want traditional Italian food in a cheesy but charming atmosphere, il pescatore is the place to go. The garlic bread tastes like it's been seasoned with dry spices (I didn't hate it). The house salad was not too shabby, the Caesar wasn't worth writing home about. I really enjoyed my entrees both times. I got the cannelloni the first time, super cheesy and a HUGE portion especially for lunch. I got the specialty tortellini with a red sauce and my husband got the tortellini with a cream sauce and pancetta. I knew I would probably like the super unhealthy cream sauce version but I still tried to get the "better for me" version and just stole most of his. Similar to lunch entree portions were huge and I had a ton of leftovers. Right now this is my go to Italian place in orlando

The best Italian food in all of Orlando. This restaurant is the legacy of a generation of amazing Italian cooking, and it shows. The owner, Dritan, is among the old guard of Italian restaurant owners. You'll always see him working the front, in the kitchen, bussing tables, etc. The place is small, quaintly decorated, and has a long history. Those red chairs and booths have been there for 20+ years. The pizza is spectacular. The thin crust is always perfectly cooked with the crisp bottom and melted cheese. I've found it so good, it's hard for me to branch out and order anything else. The sauce has a pleasant sweetness to it. Order extra and use it for dipping throughout whole meal. Other favorite dishes include calamari, calzone, and stromboli. Il Pescatore, with its rich tastes and long history, is somewhere I'll be frequenting many years to come.

Everything's great. There's not one better than the other. There's one reason that makes this place extra special, a waiter by the name of Richie. His energy and personality are what make Italian restaurants warm and cozy. He makes you forget you're in a restaurant and that's rare. Il pescatore will continue to triumph as long as it has Richie. God bless...

I grew up in an Italian family and when my grandmother was alive she made the most delicious pasta sauce. When I tried this place, it brought me back to my childhood. Very authentic, delicious, and just like grandma's cooking. Maybe I'm biased. Not everyone I go here with enjoys it as much as me, but I think it's the best Italian in Orlando.

Some of the best Italian food in Florida. This has consistently been an outstanding place to eat. The interior and exterior are a little dated and well worn, but that is soon forgotten once your food arrives. You can judge an Italian restaurant by the quality of their "run of the mill" dishes. The lasagna is by far my favorite. It arrives in a bubbling bowl of of cheese and sauce, baked right in the bowl. If I ate here as often as I'd like, I'd be a much larger man.

I'll start off by admitting that I'm not a full blooded Italian-American. That being said, much of my childhood was spent with my maternal grandma's side of the family, and they were all full blooded Italian-Americans. Every Sunday, we would have huge family dinners at my grandparents' house, and we ate the most delicious food ever. This has made me a little snobby toward Italian restaurants. I love Italian food, but I've always felt like I've had the best before. A friend of mine recommended Il Pescatore to me recently. She's Italian-American, so I took her word for it when she said it was good. The decor is simple but nice. There wasn't a wait for table, but then again, we were eating there on a Wednesday night, so I don't know how busy they get on weekends. Our waiter was friendly and regularly checked up on us to see how our night was going. I decided to keep it simple, so I ordered penne pasta with meatballs. My order also came with a side salad and complimentary garlic bread. Both the salad and bread were great, but I had to hold back a bit because I wanted to save my appetite for my main dish. And sweet Jews for Jesus, my meal was delicious! The pasta was cooked just right, the meatballs tasted fresh and not frozen, and the marinara sauce was to die for. And this place doesn't mess around when it comes to portion sizes. I finished off about half of my plate before I decided I was going to need a to-go box. My friend ordered a calzone that was twice the size of her head. And let me tell you, that pasta was still awesome when I reheated for lunch the day after. I look forward to the next time I return here. The menu is diverse but not overloaded with too many options. Next time you're in the mood for some Italian food, give Il Pescatore a try. I've been in Orlando 14 years, and this is the first place with marinara sauce the way I remember it from my youth. Forget Olive Garden. Il Pescatore has got you covered.

I'm almost afraid to write this review for fear Il Pescatore will get too popular. At it is, I recommend avoiding peak dinner hours because it gets packed even on weekdays. While they can accommodate large groups, I don't recommend it. It's cramped in there and the ambiance is old-timey Italian Grandpa. Delicious food with the best marinara sauce in town. Everyone I bring here is super impressed. I tend to avoid the fish as I find it underwhelming and encountered some questionable conch not too long ago.. Otherwise, I recommend everything on the menu. The lunch specials are a steal. So much food! They will gladly take large lunch orders to go and help you out by placing everything in easy to carry boxes. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. One of the managers/owners/not really sure was even willing to sit down and explain to me exactly how they make the marinara sauce. The secret is imported canned tomatoes form Italy, by the way, and good luck finding it!

This is my favorite family restaurant in Orlando. I love carbs so it makes sense that this is a favorite. The taste is simple yet fantastic. The marinara is plate licking good. (thank god they give bread). All dinners are served with a small salad, I like the house dressing, and yummy warm garlic bread. The venue is very causal and family friendly, great for groups. I know they are open for lunch but I'm not sure how the menu changes from lunch to dinner. Their prices are very affordable. I've tried all the pasta dishes and the Tortellini a la Stefano is one of my favorites, lots of flavor! I saw that there is pizza on the menu I have yet to try that because my favorite pizza spot is Tomasino's Pizza in the colonial town center across the way. I may have to give it a try the next time I'm in there but I can't say no to the pasta dishes.. the struggles.. :/ The deserts are a must have. The cheesecake and cannoli are the best part of the meal. I always save room or take home both of these bad boys for later. Check it out for yourself you will not be disappointed.

I just finished eating a takeout order from Il Pescatore, and I have to say it was one of the best Italian meals I've had in such a long time. I ordered the clams in a red sauce with angel hair pasta. It was unbelievably delicious. The accompanying salad was mediocre at best, although the blue cheese dressing was superb. I would recommend smaller bites of tomatoes and cucumbers and green leaf lettuce as opposed to iceberg. They seriously served my meal with a small loaf of garlic bread. A WHOLE LOAF! Unreal!!! I devoured as much as I could, and I still have at least a whole meal left. Couldn't recommend this place more!

This restaurant is seriously one of the best I've ever been to. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the service was out of this world. We had Richie serve us, and he was the most wonderful, funny, and kind server I've ever had. The salad and the bread were delicious, the main course was the best Italian I've ever had, and the wine was perfectly suited for the meal. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough to anybody who is tired of chains and is wanting to try something new.

This place has fantastically delicious Italian cuisine. It's your typical mom and pop neighborhood Italian place with just really great, heart warming food like your parents would make. It's no frills, good homemade cooking. I get the Eggplant Rollatini every time I go and it never disappoints. It's stuffed with ricotta and spices and it just made absolutely perfectly. We've certainly made this a part of our restaurant repertoire.

Oh man this place.. I could never ever get an Italian Eggplant dish from anywhere else. Honestly I didn't care for their bread or their salad but their Eggplant Rollatini is amazing. I always talking about it all night. Huge portions. So, so good.

Easily the best Italian restaurant in the Orlando area. After one visit I know all the waiters and owner by name. The moment I walked in I was greeted by a friendly hostess who made me feel right at home. The menu has a wide variety of european dishes that you WILL love. Unlike most restaurants I felt significant. The waiters/waitresses are patient and very insightful. Our table received the food quickly and it was steamy. The first bite of my Stromboli reassured me that I will be returning. I couldn't stop thinking of how perfectly seasoned everything was. My overall experience was ideal. I would easily recommend anyone to bring their family or a date to IL Pescatore. You will not be disappointed.

Hands down, this is my favorite place in Orlando! The food is outstanding and so is the service. When I take people here they adore it. Good friends that have moved out of state all say, "I sure miss Il Pescatore!". Frutta di Mare, Spaghetti with Sausage in Vodka Sauce, and Linguine in Clam Sauce are just some of my favorites. This place completely ROCKS!!!

I really enjoyed this place. The food was awesome and our waitress, hope, was amazing. I had the eggplant parm and it was excellent. My husbands dish was spot on too. My 6 year old and hubby were not impressed with the kids spaghetti and meatballs. It's ok though because she found a new dish :) The cannoli was awesome too!

If you think this is italian food you must be crazy If you enjoy eating at walmart, this is your place. For 20 percent more, you cheapskate go to a real italian place and enjoy smaller portions and better ingredients Reminiscent of a 70's dump where the food is cheap, plentiful and plastic, you need to be on LSD to believe that any decent italian would eat here. So if you are looking for american italian from the 70's then you have arrived at your Nirvana. Portion and price, not quality is the rule here. I prefer real tomato sauce, not canned and al dente pasta not overcooked. If you grandmother cooked soggy pasta, ketchup and dried oregano and told you this is how we did it in the old country, this is your Nirvana. America has everything for real Italian cooking, beatiful tomatoes that are real, pasta, real garlic in small amounts and olive oil, the best imported. These four ingredients are what make fresh and real italian cooking. Not the plastic mozzarella with the overcooked pasta filled with sawdust ricotta. The real beauty in italian cooking is the freshest simplest ingredients. Not usually more than four, in a moderate amount. Might as well slap a made in China label on this food . If I invited you over for some beautiful pork ribs on the grill, american style and instead I served "McRibs" some processed pink goo with no bone, I would hope someone would kill me with a single sniper shot to avenge real american grilling. That is what this place feels to an Italian.
It was good. Love italian food and it was okay... Let's just say I'm not rushing back but wouldn't mind returning. Salad was premade.. I could tell because I asked for no tomatoes and you could see where the tomatoes had been sitting. Eggplant rolatini was good a little heavy on the ricotta but tasty none the less. Waitress was very unfriendly which probably added to the mediocre experience

What an adventure this was! I was visiting my peeps in Orlando and this was the suggested venue for Italian. I had a bite of everyone's. My sister-in-law had a cheese stuffed chicken that was divine, a friend had veal piccata which was divoon, calamari arabiata also divoon, my veal and shrimp was out of this world. The server was a gorgeous brunette woman who was very attentive and personable. I wish I would have remembered her name. She was very, very beautiful and an excellent server. Long brown hair...oh well...Anyway, our friends from New York love the place. The owner came out and chatted with us. We had a fabulous time and the food was in huge quantities and de-LICIOUS! We'll all be back!

I have to give Il Pescatore 5 stars. Normally, 5 stars is reserved for places that have foodie type food and are more upscale. After dinner there this week, I've changed my thinking. The 5 stars is all about the FOOD. This place has some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. We've eaten here many times over the years, and it is always very good, so maybe it gets taken for granted? Having come off a summer of eating at pricey places, that are not always 5 star experiences, I must commend Il Pescatore. I ordered the chicken special which was a thin chicken breast stuffed with a risotto and pine nuts, then lightly breaded and pan cooked. The portion was huge and was served with a mushroom and wine sauce. It was light and delicious - especially the stuffing! oh, the dinner came with salad, bread, and a side dish of pasta! My dining partners ordered lasagna, fettuccine, and grilled chicken. Since there were not leftovers, I'm thinking that all were delicious. I was too busy enjoying my own food to pay attention to the others. By the way, the prices are more than fair, the service is excellent, and the tables are comfortable. This place is the real deal!

I just moved out of Orlando and one of the top three things I miss the most is this place! Oh MAN is it good!! My mom and I used to come here at least once a month (i would go every week if I could). I think the best thing is that I get the same dish every time, but request it without meat sauce and instead get pink sauce because I am a vegetarian. They've always been so accommodating and happy to do so. Absolutely one of the top places to eat in Orlando!!

One of the best Italian places in Orlando in my opinion. The food is always great and it is family owned and operated. It has a great neighborhood feel. Try it.

The front of the building and as you walk in has a lot going on (signs, art, trash, etc) and makes you wonder if the place is still open. We walked in and it had a nice old school Italian restaurant feel. We were quickly seated and noticed it was a bit cold on the right side of the restaurant - bring a jacket. Server was nice and quick. The food was just average. The salad had too much dressing and the house vinaigrette seemed to be just your cheap purple table vinegar and oil. The chicken parmigiana was beaten so hard it was rubbery and chewy. We did appreciate the amount of sauce they added on the dishes. Garlic bread and calamari were nice touches. House wine was pretty bad. Finally, the unitemized check was a bit distasteful but I guess they calculated it correctly. If someone wanted to go I probably wouldn't say no but I don't think I'll go out of my way to come back. Place needs a makeover and an update to its dishes.

YUM! I've been driving past this place sandwiched in between all the Vietnamese places for years never noticing it (it's pretty small). Was really craving some good Italian food and headed out based on the reviews here. We were not disappointed. Pretty much echo what everyone else has said. It's small, and very old-school with nick-knacks and stuff everywhere, but it's done in good way. Totally feels like a neighborhood italian place I used to go to when I lived in Massachusetts (large italian neighborhood). The service was spot on, and the food was really good. Old school italian best describes it. And yes, the portions are enormous, so be ready to have leftovers. I ordered the Lasagna and it was really good - about as good as my 100% Italian mother's recipe (don't tell her I said that). The other half had spaghetti and meatballs and it was amazing. Probably what I'll get next time I'm there. It got pretty busy around 7:30 on a Friday. They do take out which I'll certainly be using a lot from now on. Check it out if you want some down-home Italian food!

Il Pescatore is a Mom and Pop Italian Restaurant hidden away between Vietnamese restaurants on Primrose. Good food in a laid back atmosphere. Food portions vary. The calamari and cheesy bread appetizers were plentiful. However, I ordered the cannelloni florentine entree and wondered where the rest of my meal was! As for dessert, the almond cheesecake is no longer available even if it is still on the menu. Decided to go with the strawberry swirl cheesecake which was satisfying. Looking forward to going back and trying different dishes. Also, this place gets pretty packed so if you have a party of 4 or more, I recommend calling to make a reservation.

My favorite Italian restaurant. Tony is the owner and he is amazing!!!. Tim is amazing and he goes out of his way to take such excellent care of us each and every time. I have been going to Il Pescatore for many years and will continue to do so as the food is outstanding. The Tortellini Di Stefano is awesome. But then again, so is everything else on their menu. Thank you so much Tim & Tony. I recommend to everybody I know to go to Il Pescatore.

The BEST Italian food in the world...literally! Pizza and calzone are the bomb! My favorite is a calzone with meatball, onion and black olive. Their marinara sauce and meatballs are as good as my grandmother's !! Always have great specials and great service! Love love love !!!

This is an Italian standard for the Orlando area. Awesome food, for the glutenous crowd. They do try very hard to make the few dishes that can be tweaked to be gluten free great, and I've enjoyed my few meals here. My dining partners suck up the large portions of pasta like they may never see another noodle... and groan happily when they're done.

I've been looking for a nice local and authentic Italian spot downtown and Il Pescatore was one that I said I wanted to try out. Well once my preggy cravings for good Italian food kicked in, I thought it was the perfect time to go and check this place out and I'm so glad I did! The place itself is nothing fancy but I tend to gravitate towards places without all the fuzz when looking for that smaller Mom and Pops place that usually delivers the big flavors. I went there for lunch and it wasn't crazy busy yet but had a nice consistent flow of mainly what seemed to be business men/women enjoying a nice lunch meeting as well as locals who knew the menu and servers as if they are there almost everyday. (A good sign) Service was very pleasant, not too slow, not too invasive. We didn't feel rush out as the place started to pick up with the lunch crowd. Food did not only satisfy this pregnant lady's cravings but brought back memories of the many Trattorias I enjoyed very much while in school in Italy. I indulged on the linguine with clams and red sauce while my brother attempted to devour the huge Pescatore Strombolli. Given the huge lunch portion, we both failed but it made a great leftover snack=)

You know exactly what you get with this place. Family owned and operated and it shows. They don't waste money on fancy decor or advertising. This is not a white linen tablecloth Italian restaurant. This is a hole in the wall spot with cheap, awesome food. Lunch and dinner menu is the same.

I had high expectations after reading numerous reviews of this restaurant. What I got was not what I expected. I've had authentic italian, and this ain't it. I will say their red sauce tasted pretty spot on, but everything else was sub-par. I had the chicken parmesan and it was honestly disgusting, particularly the chicken itself. My friend had a stromoboli and it was decent but nothing crazy. I would probably go back and give it a second shot if the prices were comparable to the quality of the food.

The food was good, but not authentic Italien food. Service was a little slow, but that was probably because the restaurant was busy because of Christmas. We had Lasagna, Canelloni, Tortellini a la Stefano and a Tri-Color Salad. Everything tasted good, but had a lot of cheese on it. Prices are reasonable, not expensive.

I will admit that I am very particular about Italian food even though I love it. First of all this place is old, dark and dated. The ceiling tiles were falling apart and moldy. I had the stuffed chicken. It comes with bread and a salad. The food portions are huge and the prices are low. The chicken tasted like it was previously frozen. The sauce was a bit bland and they just baked the entire entree with covered with cheese. I like lots of cheese but, it was obviously done to cover the mediocre food. The service was attentive but, rushed. I know this wasn't 5 star dining but, I can't stand it when a server walks away as they are talking to you. I believe this restaurant is past it's prime.

We went here with my parents for dinner last week. My mom said she had heard great things about Il Pescatore from her friends, so we were excited to try it out. While the service was good and very attentive, I was not impressed at all with the food. My chicken piccata was very dry, and even though I asked for the pasta served with it to be in the same sauce, the chef just put the chicken over dry pasta. Not very appetizing. My boyfriend did not enjoy his veal parmesan and barely ate it. It was drowning in a marinara sauce that was not very appetizing, and you could barely see the meat on the plate. My dad had the zuppa de pesce, and did not like it either. He said some of the seafood was very overcooked. I did enjoy the mozzarella sticks and some of the antipasto salad we ordered for the table. All of us left saying, "Never again!", so we will not be back any time soon.

Stopped by here for dinner while daughter was at a concert at PlazaLive! Situated between the many Vietnamese restaurants in the area, it would be easy to miss. But don't! For a Saturday night, it was a little busy, but wait was not long. Not a huge place by any means but has a down home feel. I chose to go with the Veal Marsala while the wife opted for the Lasagna. The meal started with salads and the House dressing, which is just basic Vinegar/Oil was a good compliment. Wife had ranch and with other reviews, get the dressing on the side as they do put extra on. They also bring out their bread for the table which was a surprise that it was actually garlic bread. Would have been nice to offer some marinara for the bread, but I guess I could have also just ordered some. My wife really enjoyed her lasagna but she only ate about half as the portion was rather large. It was a lighter tasting as the noodles were thin with a fine mixture of meat and ricotta cheeses. The Veal Marsala was some of the best Marsala I have had in quite some time. Would order again next time if I didn't want to try other items. Pretty good selection on the menu and prices are not bad for the quality. Prices comparable to the chains but much better quality. I like to look at what others around are eating and many of the dishes looked great and even the Pizza looked like it would be a good pie. Will definitely be back!

Don't waste your time & $$ this is one of the worst places I have been to here in Orlando. I am originally from Brooklyn N.Y. This place wouldn't lasted 30 days in business. I guess the night I ate here the chef must of been on vacation or quit. The food tasted like the dishwashers cooked instead. Had the Cozze Bianco mussels awful drowning in garlic butter sauce. They obviously forgot the white wine. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara there was the same butter garlic sauce that was on the mussels just adding the prosciutto. My husband had the lasagne that they must of pulled out the freezer to reheat swimming in oily red sauce which we sent back nasty. The reviews that I have read for this place all must of gotten paid to claim how outstanding this place was. I gave it 5 stars for awful nasty food. Take your fork else where.

YES! Good italian food at a reasonable price. AWESOME. I've driven by this place about 100 times but never stopped in. I'm very glad that I did. I went here yesterday for lunch and it was great. They have a lunch menu with most meals priced under $10. The portions are huge, so expect to take some home. Their lunch specials come with salad and breadsticks. I had delicious baked ziti and I have a whole other portion of it left for lunch today. The service was quick and friendly. We went here for lunch during the work day and had no trouble getting in and out in under an hour. I'm sure that if you are up for a more leisurely pace, this place would be great to sit down and enjoy a glass of wine and take your time!

I really like Italian food. Maybe not as much as Japanese food, but it's definitely up there on my list. That being said, this is my favorite restaurant in town... and there are lots of sushi places in Orlando. It's a very unassuming building and the decor is a little on the tacky side. But in the tradition of hole-in-the-wall restaurants, this locally owned restaurant has SUCH GOOD FOOD. It always kind of feels like home when I go in there because the owner and the servers all know us because we go through serious Il Pescatore phases sometimes. I'd skip the salad that comes with the entrees if the house dressing wasn't so good. Besides, I didn't come for the salad. Every pasta dish is worth ordering because they have great tomato sauce, but their alfredo sauce in particular is just out of this world. I've always been a fan of white sauces and this is some of the best that I've ever had. It doesn't reheat well though, so keep that in mind. Chicken marsala has always been a favorite of mine, and their pizza is really good too; definitely a standout in the local pizza joints that I have been to near downtown. Prices are definitely reasonable too... you get great food and so much of it. Weekends do get really busy, so for the best experience, go on a weekday night- or for lunch. I like calling in for take out, too.

It's a hole in the wall but it's the best Italian food I've ever had! The staff is super friendly and after enough visit they treat you like family, the good kind you get a long with. The portions are huge, filing and never disappoint. I go at least weekly and have been doing so for the past 10 months and havent tried a single thing that wasnt delicious. I recomment their calamari, antipasto salad, ziti, gnocchi and eggplant parm to name a few. My mouth is watering as I write.

I had a house special, tortellini di steffanfo $13.95, that was great. My BF had the Bolognese that he thought was too salty and had too much sauce. Mine was really good. The service was good and the restaurant was quaint and tacky. We were apprehensive as it looked rough from the outside. It's sandwiched between two Vietnamese restaurants. We each had a glass of their cheapest red wine $4.25, ate the free garlic bread and had the house dressing. the wine was server chilled and was very sweet. I liked it myself, BF did as well. House dressing was very thin but good. I would come back and recommend this place for sure.

I simply adore finding new places to eat in Orlando. II Pescatore is a lovely little family style restaurant near Total Wine off of Colonial Drive. Pluses: -The Tortellini Di Stefano and Gnocchi Piamontesa are very tasty - Attentive service - It has a hole in the wall family feel - The wine list is pretty good - We called ahead and they saved a nice table for us. Minuses- -The garlic bread is dry - The decor is lacking -It's a little pricey Overall, I really liked this place and will definitely be back to try something else.

Service was good. Restaurant overbooked almost unsafe...I made a reservation for three and was seated at a table set for two. Wedged between a saloon style door going into the kitchen and another guest I attempted to enjoy the mediocre meal. I chose this place because I brought my grandmother here last year on Valentine's Day and actually enjoyed it. Don't go on holidays. Girlfriends salad was also drowned in blue cheese...Bread was ok...my meal was edible...girlfriends was ok....very hot....grandmother liked hers....Bathroom about a three of ten.....I'm all about local eateries sticking it to the corporate chain places but don't sacrifice service and quality for a few extra dollars.

This place reminds me of Italian restaurants in New Jersey or New York that I went to as a kid growing up in the northeast. I dined here recently for the first time in 20 years. I had the shrimp parmesan (Gamberi parmigiana) and it was delicious. I don't know where they get those big succulent tiger shrimp, but they made me want to go back for more. It won't be another 20 years until I make it back there again - that's for sure!

The exterior looks unassuming. This is the kind of place I love to find. Kind of a hole in the wall family run restaurant with great prices and superb food. I had the eggplant melantane. Essentially Ricotta wrapped in eggplant. Delicious. We all shared some cheese pizza. The new Yorkers at the table declared it authentic. It was really good. The potions were very large. The staff was very nice and very friendly. Two thumbs up. Try it, you'll like it.

If you love just good homemade authentic italian with no frills this is your place. Feels like a place you would find up north, casual booths, italian map place mats, small and cozy. They serve warm garlic bread and have pizza, pastas and calzones. We never have tried the pizzas, hear they are good, but come for the pasta dishes. Being italian, I am EXTREMELY picky, and rarely go to any chain italian places and have been dissapointed in some rather nice upscale ones here in orlando. Il Pescatore delivers great service, its casual, the sauces are homeade, sausages and meatballs cooked with love.. If you want strait up good pasta this is a must!

OMG! What a find and whats really cool... they don't know they're so friggin' awesome! We went to Disney World for the Goofy Challenge and of course we had to "carb" up. Everything was booked and/or had low Yelp ratings. This place was a little drive (23 miles from the parks and 1 hour drive with traffic on a Friday night), but we were willing to risk it. Sooo worth the drive. I'll post pictures later. What you'll get: 1. Bruschetta with Tomato and Basil that will make you drool and want to lick the plate - I'm NOT KIDDING! 2. That night, we had a wonderful server (looked like Sandra Bullock) and was so attentive to one of party who had an onion allergy. She explained all the dishes and what could and could not be prepared, etc. Just awesome and friendly. 3. Authentic, fresh, and homemade Italian food that will bring you back again and again and will make you drive across town in traffic.... 4. Large... generous... did I say Large already? Very generous portions so go easy on the first courses and especially the endless mouth watering garlic bread that they serve. 5. We had the fresh fish of the day (Cobia) in a white wine, garlic and caper sauce - Sensational; Spaghetti and meatballs that were over the top delicious; chicken Piccata perfectly prepared; Fried Calamari which was nothing special but wasn't bad either. I saw other dishes and pizza and everything looked incredible. 6. REASONABLE prices! I was floored by the reasonable prices.... 7. Will tailor the dishes to your taste if at all possible... 8. Everyone knows each other.. we almost felt like foreigners in an odd but pleasant way... 9. Free parking 10. Nice cozy dining with lots of happy people. What you won't get: 1. Fine dining experience 2. I can't think of anything else.... Last.. go hungry, go happy, make reservations ahead of time (crowded by the time we left at 7:30) and go home stuffed with a smile on your face.

There's a lot to like about Il Pescatore but--at the end of the day--it's a pretty middle-of-the-road Italian restaurant. On the plus side: +Ample, but not overwhelming portions +Tasty garlic bread and fresh salad come with lunch and dinner +Attentive service +Fresh pasta, quality ingredients +Consistent +Lunches are an excellent deal On the minus side: -Decor is present, but nothing more -No remarkably great items (though the Tortellini Di Stefano and Gnocchi Piamontesa are worthy of mention) -Poor placement of espresso machine makes it extremely noisy when in use -Sub-par desserts Overall, I enjoy Il Pescatore and it's my go-to Italian option in Orlando. It won't blow your taste buds, but it won't break the bank, either. Certainly a cut above the likes of Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill and their ilk, and a friendly, local business to boot. If you're looking for a good value, Il Pescatore is a great choice.

Il Pescatore was a big hit at my house last night!! I have family in town and we made a big take out order. The price was totally reasonable. Our meal for 4 adults and one child came to $60. And the food? Yums! We tried the Carbonara, Veal Piccata, a mushroom pizza and Puttanesca( which is not on the menu, but can be special ordered). They were all delicious! Entrees come with bread and a salad. I have not eaten in, but I will now that I have tried the food.

You know you've found a great spot to eat when a restaurant is jammed packed with patrons despite having a simple exterior and not a lot of flashy decor inside. Because what keeps it constantly full is the fantastic service and the Italian "soul food" they offer. It's a fairly small restaurant so if you are planning on going on a busy night, call ahead. Once you're seated, expect paper placemats, red Coca Cola cups and a well-rounded, delicious menu of pastas, pizzas, salads and entrees. I chose the Greek salad which was adorned with kalamata olives, feta cheese and fresh vegetables. Next I went for their staple dish, house made marinara sauce over linguini - simple, flavorful, reasonably priced and from what I could tell, it was made with care and love (hopefully someone's Italian grandmother was back there stirring the pot as I was eating). My husband was hungry and went for the sampler, a manicotti, a stuffed shell, a cannelloni and a meatball which he exclaimed "was one of the best he'd ever eaten." And my little brother who was also famished, attempted to finish a plate of their lasagna and made it almost half way after declaring he was full but wishing he had more room because it was so delicious. Other items to note - warm, crusty garlic bread is complimentary, there is plenty of parking in the back, and from what I could see across the room, diners came in happy, and left happy, with a smile that comes only from having a good meal with family and friends.

Food was run of the mill Italian, the service was pretty fast and efficient, but nothing out of the ordinary. I had heard the place was really really good but I'm just not seeing it. We went on a Friday night and it was packed which is not hard to do since it's rather small, the downfall of it being packed was it was very very loud and there was a screaming child sitting at the next table that had zero home training.. Overall, it was just ok... Not going to rush back as I can get average Italian food closer to home.

When you walk in its small and feels like home! The food is the best Italian food Ive had in Florida. I go here at least once a week. The portions are huge, service is wonderful, and atmosphere is comfy! They have a really good Chicken Marsala, and THE BEST SUBS!!!

Great, family owned, hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant (in the middle of Viet town haha). Food: Delicious. Refreshing change from your typical Americanized "Italian" chain restaurants. Nice variety of menu items. Legit Italian food! Atmosphere: Warm environment, family-friendly. Staff: Very welcoming, friendly staff =)

Anyone who thinks this is a great place for Italian food must have never eaten authentic Italian food in their lives. The sauce on the spaghetti with meatballs was about as exciting as a bowl of tomato soup. There was too much sauce on the spaghetti as well... The fettucini alfredo was tasteless as well. The bread was a generic lump of bread which was supposed to be garlic bread, but was more just bread with butter melted on it. The salad was unremarkable as well and swimming in a very vinegary "house" Italian dressing. The overwhelming lack of garlic, basil and oregano was appalling. If you want good, tasty, well seasoned Italian food... don't go here. Service was mediocre at best. Prices were ok. There was no wait at all... who would wait to eat this slop?

I ordered a dish not on the menu: penne pasta with pesto sauce and some pancetta. It was OK. The pesto wasn't very flavorful and was more oily than anything. The other dishes that were ordered at my table seemed to be better. The atmosphere was Italian... A little homey, meaning dive-y. I'll pass next time this comes up as an option.

We had heard about this place from a couple of friends and decided to give it a shot. When you walk in, you are instantly taken by the decor and atmosphere - A+ for that. We waited a bit longer than we would've liked for drinks/ wine, but it was at a peak dinner hour on the weekend so no big deal there. The food was pretty standard, well prepared but nothing special - no real complaints but it didn't make me want to hurry back. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes which is always a plus. I would certainly choose Ill Pescatore over one of the big chain Italian restaurants but there are other options in the area that are as good or better.

I Pescatore is a typical neighborhood Italian restaurant. The place is fairly clean. The food is good - but it appears only the sauces are made from scratch. It's ashame because it really doesn't take that much to make fresh pasta - and that would set them over the top. All in all the prices are mediocre and the place is good. Just don't expect this to be an authentic "mommas" place where everything is made from scratch. I tried the pesto and alfredo sauces and they were both good. Skip the canoli - its store bought pastry and filling.

This is a great neighborhood Italian restaurant. Genuine, NY style feel. Food is fresh and flavorful. Servers are friendly and welcoming. Love the bake ziti and baked ravioli. One of the few restaurants where you can find beef ravioli.

Great service Awesome Itialian food Fresh Walking in to Il Pescatore you feel warm and cozy. I have always had great service here and good suggestions from the staff on dinner. Don't go to the Olive Garden if you live in Orlando. You have no excuse to not get good italian food here. Stop making excuses and come here.

The food is amazing.......get the Fettuccine Carbonara pasta it is the best.. The service is always hit or miss but that's OK because the food more than makes up for it. the Bruschetta is to die for, hands down the best in town. I haven't had their pizza yet but it looks good. I am just such of fan of their pasta, its hard to get me to change.

Well, the pecorara never made it back on the menu, but there are other lovely dishes to choose from. Il Pescatore is still a favorite place, very comforting Italian food. The Penne alla Romana is a favorite dish, penne, mushrooms and peas in a garlic and proscuitto cream sauce. It's really rich, so either split it or expect to bring home leftovers. Prices have jumped up a bit, but... with this economy, ya gotta do what you gotta do I guess.

I'm not a big fan of franchise-type Italian restaurants, but I love the little hole-in-the-wall type places and Il Pescatore definitely fits that description. Good food, nice selection, great service and yummy desserts. And the sauces are good and we all know, "It's in the sauce!" My husband took me here years ago when we were dating and it is unforgettable, one of our most memorable dates because it was just so delicious, quaint and kind of romantic when you're the last ones in the place ... wink, wink

I love is place. All of the pasta dishes are fabulous. I really like the Linguine Vongole with white clam sauce. The pasta Carbonara is fantastic too. If you get salad, you have to try the ranch dressing. It is phenomenal! My only gripe and hence the 4 stars is that the bread seems like something you would buy in he freezer section at the grocery sore. Doesn't seem to be okemade at all. Otherwise, great food and fssrveice.

This place is one of a kind and authentic Italian! I ahve never had a bad meal here. If you are looking for fancy, go somewhere else, but if you like great food and good service, this is the place. Be sure to ask for the specials! I personally love the eggplant rollatini I had today. A generous portion of food and amzing taste. We eat with our mouths and our eyes and this meal was beautiful to look at as well eat!

I've been to Il Pescatore twice and enjoyed both visits. It's a small restaurant (by American standards; this place is enormous compared to restaurants I went to in Florence) with good Italian food. I went to eat there last night with family to celebrate my dad's birthday. We all had different selections from the menu but each was well-prepared and filling. We went to eat early (5:30pm on a Friday) so we didn't need a reservation, but the place filled up fast and a few tables were pulled together, reserved for a birthday party. A nice, not-too-expensive (maybe $12-16 per entree?) place to go with family or on a casual date.

I have been to this place three different times and am still not impressed with the food. I really like the service at this restaurant..it is EXCELLENT and efficient. Also the place is older, but very clean (even the bathrooms). Also, they can host large groups or parties here as their dining room is divided in half by a trellis. Also, their bread is delicious, and the salad is very tasty. However, each time I go, I seem to order the wrong thing and am disappointed. My husband always sticks to baked ziti at Italian restaurants, and he loves the ziti here. I always try to mix it up and have ordered three different entrees off their menu see below. Also, the decor is kitschy, but I kinda dig that at a family owned joint like this one. And if you want to try this place make a reservation or get there early, it does fill up quickly on Friday and Saturday nights as it is a tiny restaurant. First time I went during lent and ordered the Gamberi Parmigiana ($17.95) which is "Breaded jumbo shrimp oven baked in tomato sauce topped with mozzarella cheese." I felt that shrimp needed to be butterflied and pounded pounded out a bit so that more of the shrimp would have that nice breading on the outside. Also, it seems that they fry and then let it sit too long in the sauce...(which there was too much of for my taste) and that made the shrimp soggy big chunks. Also, the pasta that it was served with came in a separate bowl, which is fine, but I would have loved it if that pasta could have had some of the sauce and melted cheese on it from the shrimp. Try number two I ordered the Eggplant dis (it was still during Lent): Melanzane Parmigiana ($12.95) "Breaded eggplants baked in tomato sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese." The eggplant was soggy and the pasta came separate and didn't absorb any flavor from the main course or have any of the melted cheese on it. Also...way too much sauce, there was enough sauce left on the plate to cover at least another portion of pasta generously. The third try I had: Penne Alla Romana ($13.95) "peas, mushroom, prosciutto in a cream sauce." The cream sauce was a bit heavy and really coated everything on the plate (made it difficult to taste the ingredients), and after asking the waitress to ask the cook to not put too much sauce on the pasta...the pasta came very saucy! Oh well. This definitely had more flavor than my last two tries, and since there was no large portion of protein or veg that got soggy it was a better experience. If I try this place again I'm asking for the sauce on the side and sticking to basics like my husband's go to meal "baked ziti." how boring! OR I will try their pizza...who knows this could become my go to place for pizza? We will see!

I'm no expert on Italian food, but this place does pretty damn well. Their red sauce is to die for. They serve it with warm, crusty garlic bread. The service is always great. The atmosphere is homey and I can tell it's a small, locally-owned business. Thus far I've had their pizza, cannelloni, salad, mushroom pasta and chicken parm, and they're all amazing. Especially the baked mushroom whatever-it-is. I'm headed back there tomorrow to get some. Yeah, the salad is nothing to write home about. It would be nice if they used something other than iceberg lettuce. But I'm not there for the salad.

This place as amazing! Definitely recommend it if you're looking for good food in a relaxed environment. My husband and I got the calamari to start, which was okay - I've had better. But the penne alla romana was delicious. My husband got the cannelloni florentine which was also great. The garlic bread was pretty good. The salad that the meal came was basically some wilted lettuce and a slice of tomato, but the pasta dish was huge, so it didn't matter. They don't have an extensive drink menu, unless you like wine. The portions are very generous, and the prices are about the same as an Olive Garden or Carraba's, but for much higher quality. The staff if super friendly and make you feel like family. This is the best Italian I've found in Orlando so far, so I'll definitely be going back, and saving room for the house made tiramisu.

We finally dined here a couple weeks ago. Not to build the place up too much, I must say that having been on an Italian honeymoon only 5 months ago, something about Il Pescatore brought me right back there! The modest but warm diner style decor, homemade flavors, rich pasta, generous wine pouring, and hearty bread, great flavors all around. My husband had a special of the night, stuffed chicken dish filled with italian cold cuts and covered in a marsala sauce that was incredible. By the time I got my cappuccino I was a tad misty reminiscing our time in Italy and I think that says it all. ONE more thing to add, however, the service at Il Pescatore is MUCH better than any you find in Italy ;)

We recently dined here for the first time. We had a bit of a wait because it was Friday night. The place was PACKED- a good sign. We got in and I could see it's a smaller place that seems family run. The decor was the reason I chose not to give it 5 stars. It's plain and out of date. It was clean though. The restrooms were tidy too. The service was GREAT. We went with friends that are regulars and they introduced us to everyone, it was pretty cool to see the staff mingle with the patrons. You don't see that at a chain. The prices seemed a bit high, but after the salad, bread, side pasta dish and main entree, I discovered that the prices are pretty good. I had chicken cannelloni and it was really good. My wife had some sort of special tortellini. It was named after the previous owner I think. Our friends had chicken marsala and another old owner dish. Both were good as we all tasted the plates. The salads were with the entrees and the dressings were very good too. The bread was buttery and garlicky...mmm I'm getting hungry right now writing this. The one thing that stands out for me was the red sauce. Many places have a VERY rich sauce and it keeps me up all night. Well, this place has a sweeter, less rich sauce, and it tastes GREAT. Besides the decor, the other knock is the price of the kids meal. It was $6.50 without a drink. That means Disney-like prices. Cha-ching, VERY expensive for a kids meal. We WILL be back though. Overall, the place may make our main rotation.

1st visit tonight. I say 1st because we will be going back. Great menu w/lots of choices. We each tried a different dish. I had baked tortelini (w/tomato cream sauce, meat, proscuitto) DELICIOUS! It was everyone's favorite. Rich tomato sauce, light on the meat which is how I prefer it. And perfect size serving for full meal + a bit extra for lunch tomorrow. My husband had gnocchi w/pesto. The gnocchi was fluffy & tender. The pesto... WOW! it was so fresh! You could smell the basil which is nice because many places go so heavy on garlic that is all you smell. We also tried lasagna & caneloni. They were good too. we didn't much care for the salad w/house dressing. It was just iceberg lettuce & few standard additions like chunks of cucumber & tomato. The house dressing didn't have much flavor at all. We all added a bit of pepper & salt to the salad. The bread was VERY HEAVY on the garlic. Service was fast & very friendly. :) The restaurant itself is quaint, old family restaurant style. Very casual, very friendly & homey. Oh & there were a few tables around us of people speaking italian which always makes you feel like you picked the right place! Our total bill for 4 people = $79! that included entree for each of us & a nice bottle of wine. I'm satisfied with that.

Really good food, mixed with excellent service and great prices ... all in a family-run and very warm environment. I am a long-term resident of Orlando, and I am a business professional. For lunch, Il Pescatore is very popular with professionals. For dinner, it maintains its devoted following with the locals. I highly recommend it.

Overcooked, hard pizza,,,,,,again. The pizza slide off the plates when we attempted to cut it. This is becoming a habit. Yuck, WE GIVE UP!!!! We immediately paid and walked out without eating. The waitresses comment was, "would you like to take it, its a shame to waste it?" HELL NO! is what I wanted to say but I gently said no, let the cooks share it, they'll enjoy it. We have learned. I suppose reality has set in....................................... We've noticed that the tables-full-of-guests that seem to be enjoying themselves and having the fun are the guests that have guzzled-down bottle-after-bottle of wine and are intoxicated. The patrons that are sober aren't quite so impressed with the food and are most-perturbed by the obnoxious male that seems to seat most patrons. I wish people would stop saying its the best italian food in Orlando- it is not! If you're a regular sure you're going to have familarity "like home" but, for new patron....it's a wasted dollar and a wasted hour. Burn't, dark brown'd cheese does not taste yummy, on anything.

I love this place. It is very romantic, yet completely appropriate for any occasion. The food is amazing, and the waiters/waitresses are the real deal. I feel at home here, and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to walk away from their meal completely satisfied.

Always a fan of this restaurant. Good food. Decent prices. Gnocchi is great. Pasta dishes are great. Bruschetta is one of my favorites. Chicken Piccata is delicious. Specials are fun. They do this stuffed chicken breast in a marsala wine sauce that is indescribeable. Stuffed pastas are also great. Sometimes the food needs to cool a bit before you bite into it - but that's not a complaint. ONLY drawback - they have that pre-brewed iced tea, Gold Peak. It tastes awful. AWFUL. If you get the sweet, it's too sweet. The unsweet can't be sweetened because it's not real iced tea! How hard is it to brew iced tea?

Went to dinner with friends and decided on home-style Italian cuisine. My friends thought this place was great. Nothing I tried was too memorable. I prefer Carrinos in DP. For dinner I tried Pasta Vongole with white clam sauce. It was a little bland and the clams just tasted overcooked. The extra pieces of clams tasted like it came out of a cheap can. I tried my friends Veal Picatta. It was so small and not very filling, even after it came with a small bowl of pasta. For dessert, I had tiramisu and my friend had a cannoli. The tiramisu was creamy, but didn't have good flavor. Just tasted like a piece of cake. The cannoli was great. I think that was the only thing I enjoyed most.

I was so in the mood for an outdoor Italian dining experience, but when I arrived, I realized there was no outdoor seating. No worries. My friend and I walked inside and were almost blinded by the bright lights inside this restaurant. They sat us directly at the front of the restaurant...lights were bright, someone was giving a business presentation and everyone was staring at us at we were seated in the center and front of this small Italian restaurant. Right as we were sitting down, one of the staff came over and asked if we would prefer to wait a moment as they cleaned off the booth. We said yes. We also mentioned the brightness and he immediately dimmed the lights. They were so hospitable and kind. It made for a lovely introduction to Il Pescatore. It's great to find new restaurants in a city you know so well. Il Pescatore has that small town, hole-in-the-wall charm which can comfort the biggest city slicker. We started with their mozzarella sticks and Caesar salad. The stick were but the salad was lacking in many areas. The dressing didn't have that zing that I look for in Caesar dressing. They used finely grated parmesan instead of shredded parmesan which makes a huge difference and they din't mix the salad. It wasn't terrible though--that's a plus. They accommodated me by making a specialty item--I wanted lemon caper sauce on pasta and they made it. The sauce was not too thick and not too thin. The lemony flavor was intense but not overpowering. The dish could've used some extra capers, but it was delicious. I tasted a bite of my friend's lasagna and it was good. The cheese was melted nicely over the whole dish, the sauce was rich, sweet and tangy. There was a bit too much meat in it. The garlic bread was a little dry and the side of penne pasta accompanied the dish. Il Pescatore is slightly overpriced but they do include garlic bread and a salad. The staff was accommodating and friendly. I'll definitely be returning!

The food has always been very good. The service is good. We really like the atmosphere. It's nice to find some local color in Orlando.

I love the atmosphere here; it's a small dining room that really feels like an old-school, neighborhood Italian restaurant. While so much of Orlando is either upscale trendiness or simple storefront affairs, it's nice to come into a room that is warm and welcoming, yet nice enough to be able to take someone there for dinner without feeling cheap. I'm basing the food review on one meal, but I wasn't really impressed. The garlic bread was simple, yet satisfying--garlic butter on a sliced soft roll. The salad was nothing to write home about; the standard iceberg, radicchio, two-tomato-slices and onions affair. The lasagna, while impressively hot, had salt as the dominant flavor and was buried under a mound of generic mozzarella. It wasn't awful; in fact, they would get a higher rating if it was a smaller town. But for the area and the prices ($10-15 entrees), you can do better.

I love this place. The Stromboli Supreme is great! We've been going to this place for years, when Stefano used to run it. Its still a great place to go. We've never had a bad meal here. Highly recommended.

This is a very basic Italian restaurant .... not much by way of ambiance or menu. There's nothing notable about Il Pescatore, but it's a good and dependable place to go for salad and a pasta ..... or the standard chicken parmigiana. Service is good and friendly.

My wife and I split a cheese pizza, and it was fantastic! I cannot wait to go back and have more! We couldn't believe how busy it was, which always seems to be a good sign. I think this may my new favorite local pizza place.

Ok...my family is Italian and you can tell if it is a good Italian restaurant just by the "sauce", or we call it "gravy". My family goes to Il Pescatore about 2-3 times a month. The food is absolutely phenomenal and the service is like you are at home. If you like good Italian cooking, this is the place to go. Oh and the Cannoli's...are like what grandma used to make.

Don't expect some elegant five star meal and you should be happy -- this is that mom and pop italian place that is delicious. Service is excellent and very friendly and I have yet to have anything that wasn't good, and most of the food is very good to excellent. They also do a great job with take out. The place is usually packed, but I've never had to wait all that long for a table. One of my favorite regular/everyday restaurants of Orlando.

They are my restaurant neighbors so I have a pretty good inside scoop on these cats. Tony (the owner) is in at least 2 hours before they open every day making all of their sauces fresh daily. Their portions are huge. The value is very good. It is pretty straightfoward Italian, always consistant, simple flavors. The atmosphere is friendly, light and casual. I always leave way too full, I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

I thought it was very good. The bread was a little boring and could be crispier, but everything else was great! I will become a regular there for sure.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(5)Ralph S.
(4)Meaghan H.
(4)James Z.
(4)Bunny N.
(4)Paul S.

(5)Ana H.

(4)Dan J.

(5)Rebecca H.
(4)Gabe R.
(5)Michael A.
(5)Jeff D.
(5)Kevin L.
(5)Peter G.

The food is totally awesome, the lunch portion of the chicken Parmesan is bad to the bone! Huge!

(5)Tracey J.
The food is delicious. I love the mushroom appetizer! Ask for Richard, he is wonderful. Even better, they will accommodate my vegan requests! We are regulars!
(4)Andrew L.
(5)Marcie G.
(5)Jessica N.

(5)Carolyn W.
(5)Maureen D.
We love this place. We order pizza from here regularly, we take family here when they visit from out of town and I even bought a whole cheesecake from them for Thanksgiving, which my whole family from NJ loved. Yeah, we are regulars here and hopefully we will always be.
(4)marni p.

Our family had dinned at Il Pescatore last fall and we really enjoyed ourselves. The food was delicious and the atmosphere reminded us of being back in Philly; it had that Northeast charm about it. For how much we enjoyed it I can't believe it took us so long to get back and enjoy another meal here. This time around it was just Bryan M. and I on a date, so to say. We were in the area and got to Il Pescatore a bit early for a Saturday night. While it was around 5pm there were a number of folks enjoying their meal and the staff was setting up for two large groups. I'm not sure how long the restaurant has been here since I've only lived in Orlando a couple of years, but you get a feel that it has been around for some time. It has that lived in local look about the place that makes it a bit charming. I got a sense that a number of the customers that evening are regulars; I love places like that. We didn't have the kids this time to help us eat a bunch of food. Last time I ordered the Pollo Al Parmigiana and loved it, so I knew this time around I had to get it again. We got pizza and a Caesar Salad last visit and enjoyed those as well. The entrées are all served with a dinner salad, garlic bread and a side of pasta marinara. That is a lot of food for the two of us, so instead of ordering another entrée we got antipasti of Mozzarella Fritta. The Mozzarella Fritta was delicious; I enjoyed the breading and the sauce was perfect. The salad was your average dinner salad, it was tasty and I enjoyed the ranch dressing. The garlic bread is good and they gave us another loaf once we finished our first. I enjoyed the Pollo Al Parmigiana again. I love the homemade marinara sauce it's simple yet flavorful. I do hope the next visit to branch out a bit and try a Pasta Entrée. Il Pescatore is a great local Italian eatery. I think you can enjoy it best when you come with a group so you can sample many entrées. I do wish the dishes had the option of family style. My only complaint is the $2 charge for sharing items, as I think when you come to a place like this you want to share your food. Il Pescatore is a popular place among locals; good eats in a simple setting with friendly service is what keeps them coming back.
(4)Danielle D.
(3)Thomas A.

(5)Chad L.
One of the best Italian places in Orlando in my opinion. The food is always great and it is family owned and operated. It has a great neighborhood feel. Try it.
(5)Gabe S.
(3)Allen T.
It is a great family resturaunt. My Family and I have had many special events and large parties. The food is very good. Tony always has a smile. Tim, Rich and the other wait staff go out of their way to take care of all our needs
(5)Bruce B.
Best Italian I have had in Orlando. Been there twice and both times it was just awesome. Quality for sure.
(5)Dominic B.

(4)Dawn T.
(5)Christina V.
The BEST Italian food in the world...literally! Pizza and calzone are the bomb! My favorite is a calzone with meatball, onion and black olive. Their marinara sauce and meatballs are as good as my grandmother's !! Always have great specials and great service! Love love love !!!
(5)D S.

(5)Caleb P.
You know exactly what you get with this place. Family owned and operated and it shows. They don't waste money on fancy decor or advertising. This is not a white linen tablecloth Italian restaurant. This is a hole in the wall spot with cheap, awesome food. Lunch and dinner menu is the same.
(5)Alex S.
(2)Kai B.
(4)Susan T.
(3)Ashley H.

(5)Joshh N.
no matter when we go, we always have a blast. this is our family spot everytime mom and dad are in town. we go everytime. best italian joint in town. small, but authentic and delicious. oh, and the garlic knots are absolutely amazing!
(5)Ann S.
(5)Dana F.
(4)Michael M.
Great pizza, chicken parmesan, gnocchi, and much more. Highly recommended

(5)Omaira D.
(5)Jeremy B.

(4)Marissa M.
Amazing little Italian place! Cute, authentic place, sweet service, and great prices.
(4)Justin A.

(5)Pam F.
(4)amanda n.
(4)Rob W.
Great homemade Italian food. Super homey atmosphere, totally laid back. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. We always leave with leftovers.
(4)Ginger H.

First visit with some friends last week. Wasn't sure what to expect especially from the outside. The food was good, came out quickly and hot but nothing special. Prices were a little expensive for Italian food.

(1)Morgan M.

(3)Jeff K.
(4)Sue O.
This is a great neighborhood Italian restaurant. Genuine, NY style feel. Food is fresh and flavorful. Servers are friendly and welcoming. Love the bake ziti and baked ravioli. One of the few restaurants where you can find beef ravioli.
(5)Nathan B.
(4)Jesse B.
(4)Annette G.
(4)Melinda M.
I'm not a big fan of franchise-type Italian restaurants, but I love the little hole-in-the-wall type places and Il Pescatore definitely fits that description. Good food, nice selection, great service and yummy desserts. And the sauces are good and we all know, "It's in the sauce!" My husband took me here years ago when we were dating and it is unforgettable, one of our most memorable dates because it was just so delicious, quaint and kind of romantic when you're the last ones in the place ... wink, wink
(4)Kevin W.
(4)Lindsey N.
Best italian food I've had in orlando for sure! It is such a gem and I have definitely spread the word about this place! Yum yum!
(5)Jennifer M.
I love love love this place! Everything is so delicious! The service is excellent & they make you feel so welcomed all the time! I love to promote small businesses, instead of chain restaurants all over Orlando.
(5)David D.
(4)Katie S.

Love, Love, Love the food at Il Pescatore! One of my favs for good food, the atmosphere is busy and loud, but the food is great!

(3)Elle L.
(5)Laura S.

Great Italian dishes. Recommend the penne a la vodka.

(5)Justin M.

(5)Ms. S.
Great casual family style Italian food!!! Must try if you haven't. Food is delish!!! Not fancy, not gourmet, but good home style traditional Italian food!!! Great family place!!!
(5)TheHouse O.
(2)Vanessa W.
I love this place. It is very romantic, yet completely appropriate for any occasion. The food is amazing, and the waiters/waitresses are the real deal. I feel at home here, and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to walk away from their meal completely satisfied.
(5)Kenny C.
(4)Jerrica J.

(4)Andrew K.
The food has always been very good. The service is good. We really like the atmosphere. It's nice to find some local color in Orlando.
(5)Mike D.
(3)Roberto G.
I love this place. The Stromboli Supreme is great! We've been going to this place for years, when Stefano used to run it. Its still a great place to go. We've never had a bad meal here. Highly recommended.
(5)Adam P.
Amazing food. Well worth the prices. Nice little atmosphere.
(4)Tommy B.
This is a very basic Italian restaurant .... not much by way of ambiance or menu. There's nothing notable about Il Pescatore, but it's a good and dependable place to go for salad and a pasta ..... or the standard chicken parmigiana. Service is good and friendly.
(3)James H.
Been coming here for years, always good food and service
(5)Daniel C.
My wife and I split a cheese pizza, and it was fantastic! I cannot wait to go back and have more! We couldn't believe how busy it was, which always seems to be a good sign. I think this may my new favorite local pizza place.
(5)Ultra P.
(5)Drew S.
(5)Graham W.
So not impressed. One star for the food and another one 'cus it was clean in there.
(2)Tam L.
(4)Bil S.
I thought it was very good. The bread was a little boring and could be crispier, but everything else was great! I will become a regular there for sure.
