I know it is a steakhouse but they had a mahi mahi special that I got, very good. Others in my party got steaks and they also said they were good. This is set up as a high end steak house and the prices reflect that. I tried a couple of the sides and they were good and decent portions. We had started with an appetizer platter (for four even though there were six of us it was plenty) Nice option if you are staying in the hotel and want a nice dinner with out leaving the building.

Chef Will Walters is Chef de Cuisine at Fiorenzo, and he loves a good wine pairing with food like a lot of chefs do, but if you get a chance to speak with him, you may be surprised to find that he is actually a craft beer enthusiast. Therefore, it only made sense for Chef Will to hold his first chef's table event with a craft beer pairing instead of wine. Chef Will put together an excellent dinner at Fiorenzo that featured steak house favorites served with ice-cold selections from New Belgium Brewing and an astonishing dessert paired with Small Town Brewery's "Not Your Fathers Root Beer." Our first course of the evening was a Lump Crab Salad over Buttermilk Fried Green Tomato that was fried in shrimp butter with fennel-frisee and pink peppercorn honey. This was paired with New Belgium Brewing's Ranger IPA that has a 6% ABV. The Mustard Glazed Pork Belly over Cannellini Bean Puree with seared escarole and a pretzel gremolata was a wonderful second course. It was paired with New Belgium Brewing Trippel Ale with a 7.8% ABV. Chef Will's secret ingredient for this dish was a honey mustard glaze that he borrowed from his mother. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought the Espresso Rubbed Bison Tenderloin over orange scented heirloom carrots and potato risotto was a fine steak. The Bison was very tender and flavorful and paired excellently with the New Belgium Brewing 1554 Black Lager that has a 5.6% ABV. We ended our night with Chocolate Filled Petite Beignets with a scoop of burnt vanilla ice cream and a Caramel Stick. Of course, that burnt vanilla ice cream was floating in a glass filled with Not Your Father's Root Beer that has a 5.9% ABV. The dessert was sinful as it was, but this root beer is deadly. You can't taste any alcohol at all, and I can easily imagine drinking way too many of these. This five course Chef's Table dinner was $75 per person plus tax and gratuity. As you may have seen in one of my previous posts about Urban Tide, Hyatt Regency Orlando has hosted a few Chef's Table events and plans on doing more. If you want to stay in the loop, head on over to the Hyatt Regency Orlando Facebook Page to be one of the first to find out about the next beer or wine pairing dinner that will take place.

Nice enough but I actually have trouble with the whole concept. What is an Italian Steakhouse anyway? Well this is one, we ate hear, and I'm still not sure. The steaks were good (two ribeyes). The scallop appetizer was great. The fried calamari was OK. The pasta fagioli soup was very good (and quite filling, beware!). But, well, this place has an identity crisis in my mind. It didn't have all the steakhouse fixings (e.g., creamed spinach, baked potato sides -- or any the traditional steakhouse cold seafood, lobster bisque, or wedge salad starters). It didn't have any pasta that I felt like order -- a few dishes, maybe some gnocchi and risotto or such. And no Italian classics like veal Milanese or parmigiana. So it feels like an italian STEAKHOUSE and definitely not an ITALIAN steakhouse. To me, go one way or the other. The hybrid doesn't work.

Service was awesome! I was the only person in there and they were all so nice. Good was eh. Pizza was overlooked and had zero sauce ( I overheard that they burned my first pizza (they added 'they burned another one') and that's why it took so long but even my pizza was overcooked. Tiramisu was different but very good. A little heavy on the cream but I love when the cake is so wet like they did.

Granted, my friend and I dined here using her employee discount (she works for a Hyatt in another state), so this is slightly biased because of the fact that we got superior food at amazing prices and the staff knew she was an "inside" hospitality person and were super nice to us. But seriously- cost discount aside and before they knew my friend worked for the larger brand, we were still treated with spectacular service and consideration. I ordered the seafood special for the evening (Ahi Tuna steak- ordered rare on inside; seared on outside). She ordered the Osso Bucco. My tuna was cooked to perfection. My friend claims the Osso Bucco was tender and delicious. We had the mashed potato and asparagus sides-- the asparagus was lightly salted and steamed-- just right. The potatoes were fantastic and a definite "must try" side dish. Our delightful meal was accompanied by glasses of the Artesa Pinot Noir (their house is Canvas, which is owned by the Mondavi family, but the Artesa is much better for a slightly higher price point). We dined in the bar area, which was weak when it came to atmosphere, but the staff and food made up for that fact. The bartenders were really nice, as well as our fellow bar patrons. The place closes at 10 (officially), but they were kind enough to let us loiter there until midnight and didn't pressure us at all to wrap things up. Very very nice. If you're in the Orlando area, you could do A LOT worse, so definitely consider it as an option if you want a good steakhouse/fish place. It's 1000xs better than Capital Grille!

Stayed the Hyatt Regency this weekend for our anniversary, and decided to try out this restaurant based on reviews. Let me just say it definitely did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the service was amazing and the ambiance was perfect. Our server Shawn was just perfect. He answered all our questions, gave us menu suggestions and made sure we were taken of. I ordered the black pepper pappardelle, and it was so yummy. Their pasta is all made fresh, and the prime roast beef bolognese was so tasty and tender. The calamari were also delicious. So tender, fresh and not over breaded. We definitely enjoyed our anniversary dinner and will becoming back to try their Brick oven pizza.

I was in town for a tradeshow and I saw the very good yelp ratings so I dined with two friends The bread basket was great as was the roasted tomatoes spread. The kale salad was OK but on the bitter side. I had the filet and scallops ordered medium rare. My friends had the pasta and shrimp and sausage pizza. The main dishes arrived after 30 to 40 min. The pizza was well done and brown the pasta looked great and both were served piping hot. After my fist bite of my steak and scallop I was dissapointed since they were both barely warm and almost cold. I informed the waitress xand she promptly took them away. I was quite surprised when the brought back the same steak and same scallops. Before the waitress left I tried the scallop and I was amazed that it was more cold than the first time. I said I would like a new meal. A manager brought me the original steak and new scallops for a third time and I politely explained I wanted a new meal not one that was cooked three times. On the 4th try they got it correct and the steak and scallops were very good. When the bill arrived the manager took off one desert and 10% of the food (aprox $18). The price of my entree was $65. I understand making a mistake now and then, but they really dropped the ball and should consider kitchen policy changes. When this many mistakes are made to one order you would think the restaurant would address this differently.

Simply put ... Very Good Not Great. Since nearly all restaurants in Orlando are over priced I won't complain about the prices. I have eaten here twice in the last year and each time I liked it ok but I didn't love it by any stretch. My short rib papardelle was pretty good but there wasn't much meat in it and the flavor was off a bit. The cheese bread and the risotto were both really good. I'm just not overly impressed for a major restaurant in a destination Hyatt.

What can I say about this place? When I was charged with the task of finding a solid restaurant to have our team meeting at, I felt the daunting aspect of finding something in Orlando that is not an amusement park serving overpriced fried fare from the local reservoir. However, my co-patrons and I were very surprised at the entire experience. We arrived a tad early to grab one of their signature martini's during the $5 martini hour. Each of us ordered different ones to get a feel for what the bartender could sling and I will say we all imbibed in bliss. I personally tried the jalapeño and cilantro martini, which was quite tasty and not over done by the cilantro. My only complaint was the lack of heat or flavor of the jalapeño, I wish it stood out a little more but it was good nonetheless. Once the remaining individuals in our party arrived, we were quickly seated in the main dining room setup as from what I could imagine to be an Italian restaurant with marble well represented. Our waiter, although very nervous and stumbling over his words was quite nice and attentive while not being over bearing. We thank you for that. We began our dining experience by ordering several appetizers from which we could share. Out of the clams (which I do not eat due to an undiagnosed allergy), ravioli and calamari, the calamari was the star, great flavor and perfectly cooked. I absolutely love when they add fried lemons to the dish, just sublime. In addition to the appetizers, I tested the soup staple, the lobster bisque, which was good but I have had way better. This would be the only dish I would not recommend, save the money and spend it on paring wines with each meal. On to the entrees, three of the five of us ordered the bone in ribeye and we were all in carnivorous euphoria. Cooked to perfection at medium rare with a simple salt and pepper coating, large spears of al dente asparagus hit the spot for the rest of the evening and into the next day. The other persons in our party ordered the filet and the swordfish special, both raved about their dishes and they too needed to unbuckle the belt due to the portion size. I am still shocked to find a great restaurant in Orlando that the next time in the area I will be back.

While on conference, my guests and I gathered here for a dinner which proved to be truly magnificent! An impressive, upscale, yet inviting location was the perfect setting for excellent conversation over fine wine, succulent steak, and savory pasta dishes. Although in some instances I've found hotel-based steakhouses to be somewhat lacking, that was definitely not the case in this instance. Excellent food, excellent service, outstanding location, and approachable ambiance combine for a truly unforgettable experience. Very nicely done!

Had a very nice dinning experience. Service was perfect--attentive when needed and and laid back when not. We had the cheese and cured meats as well as the pan seared scallops for appetizers. Both were great. Our party ordered the Caprese salad, pasta e fagiole soup, and a margherita pizza. Everyone was very satisfied with their food. Overall, we were very happy with our choice of restaurant after a very long day at a convention.

Overall, there are better steakhouses in Orlando. This was not one of my favorites, especially for the price and service. We started with the meat and cheese plate -- it was wonderful and we enjoyed it. My guest ordered lamb chops -- they were good (better than the strip I ordered). The sides were probably what saved my entree experience from being totally terrible. We ordered the white asparagus and potato medley, both were delicious. Service wise -- our server provided weak recommendations (basically suggested half the menu and it came off as if she has never tried anything off the menu, which could be the case), slow service -- we needed to ask for the crostinis for the cheese plate and water when our glasses were empty, forgot to bring the sides until about 20 minutes into our entree (we had to get another server to go check and then find our server). Nice atmosphere and the bartender in the lobby area was good-humored!

Just celebrated our anniversary here and couldn't have picked a better location. The food melted in my mouth. I had the calamari and it was hands down the best one I have ever had!! The staff was just as fantastic and made every minute of the evening enjoyable. Can't wait to go back, so many other things I want to try!!

Went with a group during a convention. Excellent service. Had the Caprese salad and Seared Ahi...both were outstanding. As were the variety of sides. We ordered one of each side on the menu and shared.

Sat in bar for dinner after long meeting at the Hyatt. Service was friendly and good ( although I've always had issues with servers chewing gum especially in high end restaurants!). Appetizers were truffled French fries and fried calamari. Best calamari we've ever had! Dinners were branzino (cooked perfectly) and short ribs with pasta. Both delicious.

This restaurant is in the Hyatt Regency where I was staying. I just wanted a good slice of pizza and after hopping all 4 parks at Disney with blisters on my feet I didn't want to venture far for pizza. I read on Yelp that they have a wood fired pizza oven. So I headed down the elevator for pizza to go to finish a really good book that I was reading while on vacation. I ordered two glasses of Chianti, a pepperoni pizza, and a salad. It was about $60. A little expensive for take out. The salad at $14 was disappointing mostly lettuce and not enough tomato's or olives. Skip it. The pepperoni pizza was $15. It was good and thinly sliced pizza. I would say for pizza it was good but not the best I've had. The bartender was friendly while I waited. If I had felt like walking I would have gone to the Orlando Pointe - super close by and I went there several times and they have good restaurants. This is in the hotel and convenient.

The food was cooked to perfection. Service was good and the whole staff is top notch. From the host to the mgmt I had good vibes. Our server was knowledgable and hooked us up with a mini meat platter because I was curious on a meet I saw in the open kitchen. I will be back to try more of the menu and stay at the wonderful hotel it is in. ((Hyatt regency Orlando)

Great service and a nice dining room but I just didn't love the food. Maybe this was a mistake on my part, but I ordered the squid ink seafood pasta. My seafood actually tasted bitter and the pasta itself was more raw (thick and chewy) than al dente. I felt bad not finishing it but it was late and I didn't want to send it back. The hubby enjoyed his food more than I did but not overwhelmingly. Pricey, but once again, the service was very good and we were staying upstairs so it was convenient.

No complaints here! Was in town for a conference and this place was the only option for nice dining in our hotel (tried Napa the other upscale restaurant inside the hotel for lunch and service wasn't attentive and the place was empty) Ordered a nice bottle of wine, the parpadelle bolonges was hearty and full of flavor with beef short rib. I had the shrimp linguini which was more like massive prawns- great portion. The dish was fresh and lite. The bartender made a great dirty martini. Hit the spot and had the perfect ambiance.

Fiorenzo Italian Steakhouse 9801 International Drive Orlando, FL 32819 (407) 284-1234 hyatt.com We had a wonderful dinner at Fiorenzo Italian Steakhouse last monday night. We shared a bottle of McMurray Hill, a cheese and meat plate, spicy tomato soup and the classic osso buco. The appetizer was fantastic with young pecorino and truffles, smoked skamorza and a yummy gorgonzola picante. The meats were wild boar sausage and bresaola. All delicious and a large enough portion to suffice for lunch the following day. The osso buco was classic, tender and savory with large portions. Well worth the split charge. The service was top notch and the staff was knowledgeable. They even provided us the tomato soup recipe upon request. The following day I went back and collected on a 15% off coupon that the bell hop had given us. The manager was more than happy to redeem the coupon for cocktails. Will definitely be going back next time were in the Orlando area. Urban Cowgill

We were part of a Convention staying at the Hyatt for five days. Noticed that one of the reviewers was given a 15% off coupon by the bellman. Perhaps we overwhelmed ours with a nice tip for delivering bags to three different rooms and he forgot to give us one. Would've been nice Hyatt staff. That being said, four of us dined. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I ordered the Melanzana appetizer for $11 which was grilled radicchio, fresh ricotta, toasted walnuts and a celery salad on top. We all agreed this was good. My entree was chicken at $29 which came with mushrooms, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. All good. I also ordered a MacMurray Pinot for the table. It seemed to go well with all of our orders. That being said I still would've liked to have saved $15 with that coupon!

Wonderful restaurant with outstanding service. We started with the scallop appetizer (I could have eaten just that all night), followed by lamb risotto and lemon caper seabass. They used caperberries, which we loved so much that the waiter gave us a to-go bowl for the lox and bagels we were sure to have the next morning. Great wine selection as well

To write that Fiorenzo Italian Steakhouse lacks soul would be an understatement. F.I.S. caters to convention goers on an expense account that are too lazy to leave the Hiatt. The menu is uninspiring and the food is mediocre. My steak was pretty good. However, the fixins were lame. The bread was old and the sides were poor. The décor has the feel of a swimming pool. Lots of marble. You can do way better!

My wife and I decided to have our thanksgiving dinner this year at the Hyatt Regency, formerly the Peabody hotel . In the past our combined families have visited the Peabody for special occasion Holiday Brunch at the former Capricio Restaurant now called Florenzo Italian Steakhouse. We were somewhat disappointed, the selections were a mere skeleton of the former Peabody chefs entree's for a Thanksgiving Brunch, and I might add overcooked to some extent. The desert items were sparse and just small appetizer versions of what one would expect. Traditional pumpkin pie was reduced to a small frozen pastry shell, like the ones that the mini quiche lorraine are served in at a cocktail party ! ! At best the service was hit and miss, the quality and selections did not equal the price, we will not be back for the the Hyatt special occasion Brunch

I love the Hyatt Regency, and this restaurant has the most delectable meals! The staff is very cordial and knowledgeable, and the bread brought out before the meal is very unique. It is a wonderful assortment of all kinds of breads you've probably never tasted before. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal as did my boyfriend, and though the prices were high, the quality of the food was high.

Well, the name 'Italian Steakhouse' should give you a hint that you might run into a strange experience; at least if you are from Europe. As it turned out this was the case. The wine menu was uneventful, red wine was served too cold; what a shame. The menu showed no authentic Italian dishes but wannabe fusion creations to the US palate. The carpaccio was bland, sauce tasteless. The ordered steak was heavily salted, almost unedible, the polenta side dish was bland again; the mushrooms and the sauce were just okay. Others had a halibut which was totally overcooked. Deserts were okay. Only outstanding thing was the waiter who did a good job but overall service was slow. Worked for a hotel restaurant but an experience you can easily forget. Not coming back nor recommending it...

This isn't a 'restaurant', it's a dining experience. I stayed at the hotel and this is my second visit in 4 days. The food is fantastic and the staff is delightful! It's not a cheap restaurant, but it's worth every penny.

First time dining here last night. Went with a friend and used a Travelzoo coupon that cost $59 but gave us one appetizer ( up to $18 ), 2 entrees ( up to $45 each ) and one dessert of our choice. It also included valet parking. I will say that the food, without exception, was delicious. We split the bison carpaccio for an appetizer which was perfectly prepared and seasoned but not a particularly generous portion. For entrees we each had the 16 oz. NY Strip and for dessert, the flourless chocolate cake. The steaks were precisely cooked to order and wonderfully thick. Dessert was a very generous portion and quite tasty. Great bread with a very interesting bean dip was a nice touch. That having been said, the steaks literally did not come with anything else. So we decided to order and pay extra for some sides. Not really a problem but Truffle fries at $12 and asparagus for $9 is a bit pricey. At least they were large portions so no problem to split both. Wine list is extensive but HUGELY expensive. Service was adequate but not outstanding. It appeared that most of the patrons were business/convention attendees which would make sense considering how close the Hyatt is to the convention center. I would certainly go back but if I had paid full price for the meal instead of using a Travelzoo coupon, I'd be alot less satisfied. Certainly if you are on business and the company is paying, go for it. If, however, you are local ---- I'd try and find some sort of discount coupons before going.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
