I give this four stars. Awesome all around in the food dept. Authentic Jamaican food. You will cry if you order the jerk chicken. But you won't stop eating it. It is worth the severe burning of your taste buds. The curry chicken and goat is also amazing- and not as harsh on the taste buds if you are looking for that. Get their rice and beans combo with that and don't leave without trying one of their patties. So delicious! I recommend their spicy patty. Their prices are reasonable- and the small portions give you lots of food to down. The missing star is for first impressions and a bit of waiting. But really, the waiting is worth it & you realize that the stoic atmosphere of the owner (or who I assume to be the owner) is just part of the Jamaican culture. No nonsense, get in here eat the food, be respectful stoic attitude. All in all, worth it for the authentic cuisine you'll get here. It is also a little grocery mart. You can buy jerk and curry spices here as well as other gems you usually can't find elsewhere. I do a lot of greek cooking and usually can't find rose water anywhere- well, they have it here! :)

The Jerk chicken is always fresh an spicy! The oxtails fall off the bone! An their pastries are always good an fresh! Recommended highly! Since 2005!!!

Coming from south Florida I haven't had high hopes for really good Jamaican/Cuban/Trinidadian food in Orlando, but I was at the o.c pd and saw some good reviews for the place and decided to try it out for a quick patty, with coco bread, and carrot juice. The line made me hopeful but getting to the register I learned that they don't have carrot juice, or coco bread, which is particularly surprising as they advertise as a bakery before a restaurant. The breads they do have are the prepackaged ones you can buy at any golden krust chain restaurant, and are not freshly made, nor are the patties. The filling is definitely premade if not the entire patty.

Nice little hidden spot in the hood, this place is worth visiting. I only ever get the lunch entrees (I've heard the bakery isn't up to par), but just thinking of my usual jerk chicken meal makes my mouth water. Expect to wait in line if you're there at peak hours, but it's worth it. Caribbean Sunshine also shares space with a soul food joint so if the line is looking long, you can always check that place out.

This place is really, really good. The Curry Shrimp was excellent with a size amount of shrimp. I highly recommend this place.

This place is a hidden gem! It is in a small strip mall by checkers on the corner of colonial and lee road. You can't see it from the streets and won't know it is not there unless you are looking for it. It has a full lunch menu as well as bakery type items. I LOVE oxtail and it is my go to choice on the menu. I always get it with rice, beans, plantains, salad and a dumpling. Plenty of delicious food is given. The oxtail is flavorful, tender, and just perfection. If you have groupon they have random Groupon Now! deals of $5 for $10 worth of food here. Buying the groupon I can get an oxtail meal with soda and pay the difference which is just change. Great deal, who doesn't love all that food for less than $$6!!!!

I had training down in Orlando and this place was in the plaza where I was. I thought how could it be good with a store front so full of STUFF? They apparently have two store fronts one with food and the other with clothing. When you walk in the most DELICIOUS smell fills your lungs and you know you are in for a treat. My friend ordered the Oxtails and I swear she was crying they were so good. I ordered the Curry Chicken in the small portion. SMALL it was not!! AMAZING in taste and size it was. I couldn't tell you how good the desserts were because I didn't have room for them. When you order a small plate you get your entree, rice and beans or cabbage, a salad, and a "dumpling". It was so good and I honestly couldn't finish it all(and I eat A LOT!!). If you want amazing Caribbean food at a good price then do yourself a favor and hit up the Caribbean Sunshine Bakery, trust me you will not be disappointed.

I've had the curry chicken and the stew chicken. Both were off the hook. The plate is overflowing with beans and rice, plantains, bread, cabbage and the sauces are amazing. The staff are kind, generous and it's a great place to relax. It's my favorite spot to go for lunch. There's always food leftover and my kids love it. It's hiding over in the corner, but it's worth the search.

Great place for take out because it is HOT in there! I recently stumbled upon this place while running some errands and decided to give it a try because my hubby and I love caribbean food! This place is not just a bakery, they also serve a full menu of hot foods and they have a little "grocery" section where you can buy sauces and snacks as well. I knew I must have found something good because there were lots of locals eating there and the smell made my mouth water! I ordered a jerk pork and a jerk chicken platter, both with with rice, beans, plaintains and a dumpling on the side. The poor cashier literally had a hand held fan as she jotted down my order. I saw little stacks of delicious looking chicken and beef patties next to her, but resisted getting one and scarfing it down right then and there... I think it helped that it was 9 million degrees in there, so I didn't really feel like eating anything hot just that minute. My food came out pretty quickly, so I scooped it right into my car and sped home so that I could try it. It was love at first bite. The jerk pork was tender, flavorful, had a little kick, and was all that a jerked meat should be. The chicken was equally good and I had to remind myself that I was supposed to leave some of it for hubby to try when he got home. The rice and beans were also pretty good, but the plantains and dumplings were just okay. I had never had a caribbean dumpling before, but I quickly realized that they were just big balls of boiled dough. The next time I'm back, I will definitely give the patties a try... but I definitely want more of that jerk pork!

I really love caribbean food. Every now and then I get a craving for jerk wings, or curry chicken and rice or a spicy beef patty. CBS is the place for consistent portion sizes for the money and well seasoned caribbean food. I will be trying oxtails and the stewed chicken my next few visits. But for now, I can attest to the three dishes afore mentioned in my review. You can't go wrong with anything from CBS.

Since I get better patties and hardo bread elsewhere, I had stopped eating here for a few years. Well I was desperate for some ackee & saltfish one Sunday morning and my regular place doesn't open until late on Sunday morning, so I ventured back here. What a surprise! Tthe breakfast was wicked! Way better that my regular place with just the right amount of seasoning and heat. So if you want a 5* breakfast - eat here. The patties are still no match for Golden Krust. I'll be back soon to give the meals another try. If they are anything like the breakfast, I'll be a regular and they will be a 5* overall.

If they are running it as a special, you must try the curry shrimp! It takes forever (15-20 min) because they make it when you order it. It was so worth the wait!!!

Ordered again for another event. Just as last time the food was awesome! Jerk chicken falls of the bone and I ate the leftover beef for a week!

It's located in a sketchy part of town and we usually have to deal with panhandlers near the entrance, yet this place is a favorite since it is one of the few places in town that serves vegetarian "chicken wings" and other soy-based meat analogs in addition to chicken, fish, and beef. Wonderful jerk sauce and side dishes, esp. the peas and rice. I recommend getting the ripe plantains instead of the boiled or fried dumplings, which tastes like unseasoned dough. Good selection of desserts by the slice and packaged baked goods, which I'm sure is a huge draw for the workers from the Orange County Sheriff's Dept. located next door. Service is always good. Order at the counter, then pick up your food about 5-10 minutes later when your number is called. No fountain drinks, but there are bottled soft drinks, juices, and teas available in a fridge display. The place can get busy during lunch hours, but we've always been able to find an empty table or booth.

I grew up on this type of food and I know how it should taste and this hit the mark. The spot is a typical west indian spot. I ordered a large oxtail with peas and rice along with a patty. The price was typical and the only downside was that I saw a lady wiping down the tables with bleach, which is great for sanitizing, but she left the area drenched with this bleach concoction and no plate of oxtail is worth messing up my pants. Overall I'll keep this place in mind, but I would like to try some different spots.

We couldn't get Jamaican food at the farmers market because it was pouring, so we came here instead. It's in a plaza next to the sheriffs dept, I would say it's a nicer part of town. We walked in and noticed that they have a merch store and a soul food cafe to the right, and Jamaican food straight ahead. We waited in line and struggled to read the menu that was on three TVs. I really would've wished to have an actual paper menu to look at. I ordered the large curry chicken and it came with rice & peas, dumpling, and two plantains. My boyfriend ordered jerk chicken, and it came with the same sides. It was hard to find somewhere to sit because the dining room was a mess with chairs everywhere and dirty tables. I literally saw a napkin with bones and shit on it. Like really? Was there not enough staff to maintain the space? The staff that was there didn't look like they wanted to be there anyway. I received our food, & I thought it was really weird how my dumpling was boiled and my boyfriends was fried. I didn't ask for it to be boiled........... Weird. I didn't know you could even boil it. I thought it was raw dough at first! So we ate it, and my boyfriend didn't say anything, so he must've enjoyed it. I put some hot sauce on my chicken because the curry just wasn't enough for me. I would've liked to taste more curry, or something! I also thought the side salad was pretty bland. I would've much rather have steamed cabbage instead. All in all, I might come here again if I want Jamaican food, but they should definitely improve the dining area, and have menus where people can see them.

If you grew up in Jamaica... You know all about Ackee & Saltfish for breakfast. I certainly did not grow up in the islands but I love this dish and Caribbean Sunshine not only does it well but it's a decent portion size compared to some of the other spots nearby. Served with boiled banana, sweet plantains, and either fried or boiled dumplings (I opt for the boiled), it consistently good every time. For lunch, I like their curry chicken, oxtail, or brown stew chicken. I usually get it with the rice & peas, plantain, festival and cabbage. When I'm "trying" to avoid too many carbs I ask for all cabbage, no rice and they have no problem accommodating. Their spicy beef patties are always fresh, not necessarily as flaky as I like them from some other places, but still tasty.

Stopped by with a coworker to grab a quick bite. We got 2 beef patties, mine was mild. The customer service was great and the food smelled SO good! They look like they had good prices. The beef patty was $1.70 and it was SO good. Tasted homemade and fresh and the mild was a bit hotter than I expected but nonetheless it was great! Looking forward to going again!
