What a great place to enjoy Cuban food! Café Pinar truly deserves a 5 star rating. The staff here are all very kind and friendly, they all seem to be proud of the food they are serving, they never made me feel I had to hurry up and decide what to order, instead they were all very helpful, and so on and so forth. The food, was also excellent. Here is what I had today for lunch. * Cuban Sandwich * Yuca * Black beans * Cuban soup with veggies and meats The Cuban sandwich (which a male staff or maybe the owner (?) told me it is the best in town, and I believe it is) was excellent. When was the bread baked? I wondered, because it was so soft inside. And the sandwich was not salty even with cheese, mayo and mustard. Yuca with some onion was so good especially with the house made garlic oil sauce which had some vinegar in it. Black beans were served very hot and nice. The Cuban soup had a lot of veggies and the broth was very very delicious. Since I am an out-of-towner who may not be able to come back to eat here for a long time, I ordered more than I could finish, but I did bring the left-over home with me - Some of the Yuca and a half of the sandwich. They are too good to waste. Great food, great staff, and very pleasant dining area. I look forward to eating here again soon!

We went to eat breakfast and it was like eating quick food at a gas station. I didn't taste or see Cuban breakfast. It so easy to make breakfast...the potatoes was a hash brown, the bread was not Cuban bread, everything was done without precision it's a pity they failed on this. The manager kept interrupting the waitress who was helping us. He could of atleast smile once. What happened here is; no attention to detail. Waitresses were nice.

Great and speedy service. Best Cuban sandwich I've had outside of south Florida . Can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu!

I found this place online and I went today and just wow. I had their "cafée con leche" which is coffee with milk and it was amazing, and I'm very picky about coffee, I don't drink any coffee, so definitely great. Their Cuban sandwich was delicious and big enough to eat half for breakfast and the other half for lunch.. Definitely will go again. Totally recommend it.. Friendly staff

This place rocks! Food is awesome! The owner and his wife are great people and down to earth they really know how to take care of their regs! For a new spot in town they really hit the ground running!

We ate here the first day we arrived in Orlando, and had to return again before we leave. Their pernil is amazing. The family just had to have the Cuban sandwich here again with the hot sauce. I had the arroz congri, roast chicken leg, fried sweet plantain and a side of boiled yuca. Everything was well seasoned and taste so good. The owner recommended that I tried their white bean soup, and that did not disappoint. Hubby had an order of the beef empanadas, and he loved every single bite of it despite being too full after eating his Cuban sandwich. The food is worth the trip to fly back to Orlando for. We had tried several other Cuban and Latin American food places in the Orlando and Kissimmee area during our 6 day stay in Florida but every one of them fall short compared to Cafe Pinar. Best Cuban sandwich, congri rice, pernil, and boiled yuca in town.
(5)Cori G.
Great service, great prices, try their fresh passion fruit juice!!! It's amazing. Their sandwiches are so yummy!!! We will be back soon!!!

My new husband and I have been frequenting this place on occasion since they opened a short time ago and they always have great, fresh, authentic food and friendly service. We liked them so much that we actually had them cater our wedding a couple weeks ago and they did wonderfully. They went above and beyond our expectations and we are still getting compliments from the guests about how good the food was. The portions were more than enough and they made sure it was very fresh and even brought us a special surprise at no extra charge. The prices were extremely reasonable compared to other places we considered. I recommend the imperial rice if you go early enough in the day, otherwise they sell out. The paella is also fantastic, with a mixed variety of seafood. The pernil and steak also never disappoint me.

I am deducting 2 stars from my original review because of the sandwich I had the other day. I decided I wanted to try the Pan Con Bistec which is a traditional Cuban Steak sandwich. It's supposed to consist of thinly sliced beef, onions, shredded lettuce, tomato and potato sticks. I was shocked when I got home and there was Cheese Whiz in the sandwich. Cheese Whiz, Really!!!?? The cheapest cheese you can buy and someone in the kitchen thinks that's a good idea? There were no onions, no lettuce or tomato and no potato sticks which is the best part of this sandwich! It was a complete letdown not only based on the cheese but the steak was dry and tasteless. I have had many of these sandwiches in my life especially when I lived in Miami and I have never encountered Cheese Whiz on any of them until now. I can appreciate it when restaurants try and reinvent classics but this definitely does not work. If someone wanted a Philly Cheesesteak, they wouldn't dine at a Cuban joint! I have lost all desire to return based on this experience.

I've only been here for coffee and toast but this place is nice. Very clean and friendly staff. The cafe con leche is superior. Would love to eat lunch or dinner here sometime. Prices are very reasonable and the food sounds very good. Great cuban place.

My new first choice for a Cuban food destination! Real food the way Madre' does it! The roasted pork meal ($6.89) really delivered all I could want from this entree and at such a fair price. Tender, fresh, seasoned goodness! A generous serving with similar happiness for the yucca and the still kinda crunchy rings of onion topped with their garlic topping (ask for it!!!). The congri rice was righteous e-nuff after adding the table hot sauce. The colada- double espresso was such a delicious treat with a wonderful luscious layer of crema to finish this visit off with. Strongly recommended! (my picture was taken after some sips had already been enjoyed.) Service was friendly and free wifi too! Will be back for more.

This is the first place in Orlando that I have found a superbly perfect, authentic, mouth watering Cuban sandwich. Every time I go to grab lunch I'm tempted to try something else on the menu, but the Cuban is so good, not to mention huge, that I cannot help but order it. I hope it never changes because it's such a wonder to finally have found this gem in Orlando. I only wish the location was closer to the center of the city and not hiding tucked past the Florida Mall.
(4)Kimberly C.
I've eaten a lot of Cuban food, like A LOT, but this place is affordable, friendly, and delicious. I got the Ropa Vieja with plantains, beans, and rice and it was only $6! Can't go wrong here, I promise you. My friend ordered a Cuban sandwich also and it was delicious. The meat inside was great, the bread was perfect, and it was pressed to perfection.
(5)Megan M.
Fantastic. Fresh Cuban sandwiches, perfectly seasoned plantains, black beans and white rice. Generous portions and incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Definitely a gem when you're tired of chain stores.

i had such great food at ridiculously great prices on a recent lunch visit, i went back this evening for dinner take out. i phoned in my order for the bistec w/onions meal, which is $6.99. i chose yellow rice instead of white, and black beans instead of red. i had the yellow rice and black beans before, and they were too good not to have again. it also came with four big pieces of sweet plantains. like my previous visit, there was an amazingly large amount of rice, and the beans were lightly seasoned with plenty of beans and lots of that flavorful soupy goodness. like before, the beans came in an 8 or 9 ounce cup. the bistec was two large but thin-ish slices of what might have been something similar to a ribeye steak. it apparently was cooked like one would cook a roast. it was tender and tasty but was too done and, therefore, dry. i was able to make up for it by pouring some of the beans' soup onto it to give a bit of moisture. i got a hunk of that dense yellow coconut cake again for just $2, which i haven't even touched because i'm much too full from the dinner. even though the meat was a bit dry and overcooked, it was still a great value and very tasty meal for well under what you'd pay elsewhere. the only hiccup for me was when i phoned in the order. i don't speak spanish, and the person on the didn't speak enough english to take my order. she put a gentleman on the phone who didn't fully understand a lot of english, but we managed to communicate enough to get the order placed correctly. he was very nice and patient with me, as was i with him. i'm only mentioning this part so that other non-spanish speaking customers can be prepared. it did not in any way lessen my great experience. i still have to give cafe pinar 5 well-earned stars.

Great cuban food, the closer you will find to Home made, even the atmosphere is like eating at home not too commercialized and the attention is warm and friendly. I asked the owner and, he explain that they are progressing as they goes by. This is clearly what small business should be. They are the heart of our economy and the real American Spirit. Let's start giving our small businesses a chance to recover our economy. Bottom line is great food and good coffee.

My new adventure started when I found myself tasting food that was sold in a high price and not tasting well at all. There are times when I wonder if people really know how food is suppose to taste ,and when your hungry any food that you eat will taste good! with different cultures in this world.I say You need to know! Think about that! I identify the word good by the taste, and the ingredients, and the time that it takes to prepare as well for it to leave me with a mmmmmm taste. So I go back to this Restaurant to see if there were any changes on February 02 2015 I tasted a small portion of the same Steak, yellow rice and red beans that I ate last time, Oh boy! ! to my surprise. No changes on the taste. The steak had no flavor that we look for in a steak it was soft and tender. It taste like whatever else was in the refrigerator and it was not covered. Sorry to say! . About the rice! I have no words that I could identify it(I do not recommend the rice as well. NO flavor) The beans just came out of the can and put in the pot with water and that's all; with no flavor sorry to say,but that is straight Shot!! The Restaurant was clean and the service was ok! The establishment Cafe Pinar Cuban Food They are located on 730 W Sand Lake Rd Ste 30 Orlando ,FL 32809 Two Stars for Cafe Pinar Cuban Food Try it and then give me your thoughts! This is A Straight Shot! For More Info: bravosreview.com

Food was great! Service was excellent! Price is right! The staff and owners were super friendly and acommodating. The cortadito was an experience of its own.
(5)Samantha B.
The service was friendly and helpful and the food was home-made delicious! Be coming back here for the Yucca as often as possible! Coffee was excellent, too!
(5)Rosana D.
This restaurant is pretty good. Is affordable, delicious and the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend it.
(5)Marc J.
Great service. Super friendly. Feels like home. Food is inexpensive but top quality. Definitely worth the trip for authentic Cuban food
(5)Jeff S.
Wow. Great find! Had a cuban sandwich here and it was fantastic. The pork was great and so was the bread. Reasonably priced and a great little gem. We will be back.
(5)Pablo R.
Authentic Cuban Cusine! Ive visited cafe pinata a few times and haven't been disappointed. They have great Cuban and steak sandwiches. Great Cuban coffee and awesome lunch specials. Friendly service. If your inThe area try them out.
(5)Norma B.
Been here several times and customer service is always on point! Love getting sandwiches. Medianoche is a fave. The Vaca Frita is really good too. They have a yummy flancocho for dessert. And finish it all off with a cafe con leche or cortadito.
(5)Georgieann K.
My husband and I are first timers to this Cafè. We were greeted right away once we walked in. We tried their lunch special and it was delicious! I had their chicken with tomato sauce & potatoes and my husband tried their stuff chicken with ham & cheese wrapped with bacon. We both had rice and a side of black beans. I tried their famous Kola champagne soda (it's like cream soda) it was awesome. It brought back childhood memories. We would definitely come back and try their breakfast!
(5)Melissa O.
Saw this place for the first time. My mother had a Frita and Empanada de Guayava while I simply had a ham croqueta. The tastes were good. The Frita was extremely big and tastes more burger like she said but still tasty. The Empanada she loved as it was fully filled. The prices were great and staff was nice. Looking forward to going back for a real plate of food.
(4)Elias V.
Great breakfast and inexpensive, great coffee as well. Enjoyed breakfast so much we came back for lunch and had the Cuban sandwich, very good. Would recommend this place when visiting Orlando.
(5)Kristy J.
I love love love this place. I go twice a week to get my breakfast sandwich and croquetas. I haven't had their food yet, but I can imagine it's just as great. They are an authentic Cuban restaurant, spoke to the owner who says his goal is to continue maintaining this restaurant authentic. It's a definite must and hidden gem.
(5)Bill T.
Holy cuban pork! One of the best cuban sandwiches ever! Also, their yellow rice, cuban fried rice, black beans and other sides are delicious too. The flan is to die for as well. Their passion fruit with tamarind juice drink is tart, sweet, cold and refreshing too. The service is fantastic, super friendly and very attentive. I would highly recommend Cafe Pinar for some tasty cuban food if you are in the area, or even if you have to make a bit of a drive to get here.
(5)Ashley C.
Update 6 months later: The $2.99 breakfast is now $3.69. Nonetheless the price is still unbeatable for the amount of food that you get and the quality of the food. The customer service is still as good as the first time. Try it if you're in the area.
(5)Melissa K.
Cheese empanadas. Yum. Cuban sandwich. Extra yum. Though ... I wish they gave the option to put their garlic-cilantro sauce on the sandwich. It was good, and it would have been a nice addition to the sandwich. Nice staff, too. :)
(4)Roxanne Q.
I would stay fa away from this place I I ate there recently and it sent me to the hospital. Another friend of mine ate there a few weeks ago and she got sick as well. When we call the owners to tell them what happened they seemed to be completely unconcerned. I am calling the health department.
(1)Lissette M.
I highly recommend Cafe Pinar! Restaurants in strip malls don't immediately set your expectations for great food and service but come here and you will be pleasantly surprised. The staff is welcoming and attentive and the food taste fresh and yummy! The price...can't beat it! We had the Cuban sandwich, beef empanadas, rice, beans, beverages, flan, tres leches...food and desserts all home made...total under $30. One tip which I will do when I come back...ask for your Cuban sandwich to be toasted a bit more if you like it crispy like me.
(4)Mike B.
Excellent food at ridiculously good prices. Staff is friendly and owner is right there in the trenches.
(5)Blair W.
Top notch food and service. Owner is hands on and makes sure you get what you want. Must visit. Better than most Cuban places I visit in Miami. Place was packed the entire visit.
(5)Jennifer P.
The best breakfast place ever! Not only the price is low for how much food you get. The whole plate just taste amazing! Very tasty and fresh! :) definitely coming back for my next Orlando visit!!!
(5)Jay L.
Don't let the low prices fool you! The foods are just absolutely delicious!! I have not been to another place where the toasts are toasted to such perfection. The bacon, the eggs, the stew are all so tasty with a touch of authenticity !! This place definitely lived up to its 5 star rating ! The staffs are friendly and the place is clean. Will come back again for sure !
(5)Madai M.
Stopped by 12/31/14 to grab a bite for lunch and even though they were about to close early for the holiday gladly took my order. Ordered several empanadas (beef, pizza and guava) All were delicious but the pizza one was the best. Ordered a steak sandwich and it was delish! Very grateful that they took my order that day. The sandwich was filling and a good base for the alcohol that was to be consumed later that day to bring in the New Year. Definitely will be back in 2015!
(4)Kristen C.
Wow!!! The food at this place was very authentic Cuban. Take it from a Cuban who grow up eating home made Cuban food. This is a new restaurant, just open two months ago, and they are a little bit disorganized but don't worry they make it up with flavor. If you want good tasting Cuban food go eat at Cafe Pinar.
(5)Prof J.
The Grand Opening signage compelled me to try this place. As soon as I entered it, I can tell from fresh paint off the wall and the music playing, that it could be great... but it wasn't. A place with "CAFE" put in it and doesn't have free wifi - automatic star reduction. This is probably the 5th time i tried cuban food in a cuban atmosphere and i'll tell you right off the bat, their manerism isn't that great when it comes to customer service. However, they do make great sandwiches. I love cuban sandwiches and I do recommend the cuban sandwich. The place was busy, which is probably why they were in a hurry to get my order, but still... customer service, people, CMON! The menu selection wasn't that extensive. But the place was clean, could use a bit more decor, and it is in a convenient location of the plaza. The price of the food was decent. Comparing with Havana Cafe, i'd choose Havana for cuban food since their business is more established and has more selection. This place is worth a try though. But, just not that impressive.

I was on vacation in Orlando recently. I stopped at the Florida mall, on my way back to the hotel I noticed this place so I stopped by. It looks like they just recently opened, not much decor...but what makes up for the lack of decor is some really amazing food! I ordered the pork sandwhich for my fiance, I got the pepper steak with white rice, black beans and some platanos maduros...along with 2 empanadas (beef & pizza)...and for dessert a tres leches. Mmmmm...the rice was perfect...just right!! The empanadas not greasy and beef filling was great. My pepper steak cooked just right! My fiance loved the pork sandwhich...he said the pork was seasoned amazingly..he especially loved the bread. The tres leches we actually ate a day later...still amazing! The staff especially nice...one of the ladies noticed she gave me an extra empanada (pizza)...she said "I gave you a pizza empanada by accident, but no worries...try it and see if you like it". It was great too! Next time we are in Orlando I'm stopping here!
(4)Cameron Q.
Have to say , by far, best yelped restaurant to date. If you want REAL Cuban food then you need to come here. This place is modern and clean, with great service. The food is made hot to order. As soon as you walk in , you feel accepted and not out of place. You will not go wrong with ordering anything off the menu. Have to say my favorite was the croquettes and of course the Cuban coffee ! Cafe con leche and espresso were delicious ! We were in town for four days and stopped in every single day. If you don't order food, then at least order the coffee. Will definitely be stopping by here again!
(5)Chq C.
This family owned business was excellent! Food was fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. The service was very friendly and helpful. Owner helped us with food selection since we aren't very familiar with Cuban food. Menu changes daily. Restaurant was clean. This is a restaurant definitely worth trying!

Wow. Great find! Had a cuban sandwich here and it was fantastic. The pork was great and so was the bread. Reasonably priced and a great little gem. We will be back.

Friendly staff

i had such great food at ridiculously great prices on a recent lunch visit, i went back this evening for dinner take out. i phoned in my order for the bistec w/onions meal, which is $6.99. i chose yellow rice instead of white, and black beans instead of red. i had the yellow rice and black beans before, and they were too good not to have again. it also came with four big pieces of sweet plantains. like my previous visit, there was an amazingly large amount of rice, and the beans were lightly seasoned with plenty of beans and lots of that flavorful soupy goodness. like before, the beans came in an 8 or 9 ounce cup. the bistec was two large but thin-ish slices of what might have been something similar to a ribeye steak. it apparently was cooked like one would cook a roast. it was tender and tasty but was too done and, therefore, dry. i was able to make up for it by pouring some of the beans' soup onto it to give a bit of moisture. i got a hunk of that dense yellow coconut cake again for just $2, which i haven't even touched because i'm much too full from the dinner. even though the meat was a bit dry and overcooked, it was still a great value and very tasty meal for well under what you'd pay elsewhere. the only hiccup for me was when i phoned in the order. i don't speak spanish, and the person on the didn't speak enough english to take my order. she put a gentleman on the phone who didn't fully understand a lot of english, but we managed to communicate enough to get the order placed correctly. he was very nice and patient with me, as was i with him. i'm only mentioning this part so that other non-spanish speaking customers can be prepared. it did not in any way lessen my great experience. i still have to give cafe pinar 5 well-earned stars.

This family owned business was excellent! Food was fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. The service was very friendly and helpful. Owner helped us with food selection since we aren't very familiar with Cuban food. Menu changes daily. Restaurant was clean. This is a restaurant definitely worth trying!
