Great food and service. The veggie options were awesome (eggplant and ravioli). I'll definitely look for this chain again!

The food is absolutely delicious. However, my husband and I sat in the bar tonight and the service was HORRIBLE. Sat for 20 minutes before we were greeted. We got out waters ordered and then waited another ten min just for one of the two to come back to ask if we were ordering food. The first guy who took our water order asked if we were dinning in, we said yes and he brought menus. The female who finally came up to us, saw the menues, closed, and said "oh do you guys want to eat too?" There were no apologies for the wait or any sincerity. We finished our meals, and the female, Rosse, greeted the table behind us, had a full on conversation with the table, laughed and gave them great customer service. My husband and I love the food here, have never had a problem with service till tonight.

After posting here a negative review and even contacting the corporate for another incident (not regarding to the food), one of the managers contact me and promised me that he'll take care of some issues. Therefor, I decided to give the restaurant another chance. We were happy to see and taste the improvement in the service and the food quality. Seems like the managers and chef upgraded everything in the restaurant. Food is delicious, staff is friendly and we are glad to have buca back and definitely will be back to our routin of our daily lunch.

Good food, good scenery! Expect to pay more than other places because the food is served family style, but there are lots of coupons available so sign up for their club online and you'll get a $20 off for your birthday. not a bad deal in my book!

Holy cow that is some great spaghetti with meat balls. We've been to the one in Hawaii and this place is just as good. My daughter was so excited that she could get a tour through the kitchen. It was fun. Our waiter was more then helpful. At times, he tended to talk a little too much while we were enjoying our food, but he was very nice and have every intent of just being a good, nice person. I love Italian and this place hits the nail on the head.

I went to the one that's tucked in one corner inside the Florida Mall. I had never gone before and I'm always on the lookout for good Italian restaurants as a classier alternative to the numerous Olive Gardens. As it was our first time, they took us on a little tour around the restaurant and through the kitchen. This is the first time I've walked through any restaurant's kitchen and it felt a little weird but also interesting. I guess they do this so you can check out the décor, which is very cool, full of vintage photography and posters showing famous Italians or just slice-of-life pictures. I especially liked the ones with Sophia Loren at her most seductive. But how was the food, you say? The food was pretty good. They offer two sizes, Small and Large, but that's a playful misnomer, since Small is supposed to be shared between two people and Large is for four or more. We ordered some fried calamari, which was good, and "Quattro al Forno" for the entrée, which was pretty good as well and had a combination of baked pasta such as manicotti, stuffed shells and a couple of others. The food wasn't a revelation or out-of-this-world but it was tasty and filling. That coupled with the cool décor and nice ambiance and you got a place that I wouldn't mind at all to visit time and time again.

We have tried númerous Italian restaurant, and by far this has been our favorite. This is comparable to eating from your grandma's table. Large portions, enough to feed an army. Nicely seasoned, and very pleasing to the palette.

This is for a review of the Pope Room. This is a great place to have a group outing. It fits about 17 people and it has a lazy Susan in the middle of the table so that you can move the food around without anyone having to continually pass things. Service was good for such a big group it would have been nice to have 2 servers. He worked his butt off and did a great job. He was funny and charming. We ordered a bunch of appetizers : Artichoke Florentine Dip - I really enjoyed this. The dip is hearty and flavorful. Spill factor at the pope table is high so you may want to grab it off and spoon the dip onto your plate. Fried Mozzarella - This was okay. It's what fried cheese and marinara is all about. I think it's just me that a dish like this always reminds me of TGI Fridays, so I think I have a bias. Everyone loved it. Stuffed Mushrooms - This was my favorite app. I love stuffed mushrooms anyway but these came with an amazing avocado sauce that the mushrooms sat on top off. Loved it. The n we ordered 2 Salads Chopped Antipasto Salad - Very enjoyable. It was dressed properly and was not too salty. Di Beppo 1893 Salad - a bit similar to the antipasto salad but had salami, olives and roasted red peppers. The dressing was the same Italian dressing on the antipasto salad. Just as delightful. Our Salad person in our group enjoyed this one the best. Next the Entrees Chicken Parmigiana - It was wonderful. I normally wouldn't order it as I don't order something I make at home pretty well at a restaurant but it was quite tasty. Chicken was not dry as I've noticed at other places. Chicken Marsala - I enjoyed this. I'm so glad it wasn't as sweet as I've heard it is but the server mentioned they recently redid the recipe. This was a huge hit with the group. We had to order more. I'm glad some do like mushrooms, extra for me! Fettuccine Alfredo - This was good. Noodles were al dente and the sauce was creamy. Shrimp Fra Diavolo - I enjoyed this a lot. Shrimp were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the spicy sauce. I would order this as a whole dish if I went again. And For Dessert Dolce Platter - It's quite large best split between several people tiramisu, double dark chocolate cake, homemade cheesecake and apple crostata. All were great my favorite was the cheesecake. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed ourselves fully. I would book the pope room again.

Came for a later dinner our first night in Orlando. It was first time at Buca but my family had been before. Made a reservation for 8:15 around 7:45 the same night and were seated right away without a problem. Not a huge fan of the tacky decor and screaming kids all around us (that may be more an Orlando problem than Buca problem) but otherwise it was A-OK. Started with the chopped antipasto salad which was the stand out dish of the meal. We got a large and the 5 of us polished it off no problem. For entrees we ordered 3 "small" sizes of proscuitto stuffed chicken, chicken and sausage rigatoni, and penne vodka. All were good but nothing outstanding. The pasta dishes definitely needed salt. Even with the 3 "small" sizes, we took home leftovers. Waiter was nice but would disappear for awhile sometimes most notably when waiting for our drinks and to place our order. I wouldn't complain if someone suggested coming here again; it is definitely better than Olive Garden in my opinion.

WE WILL NOT RETURN TO FLORIDA MALL LOCATION. We told our server it was our first time. The bread was served with pure olive oil. I asked for some herbs to flavor the oil, but he he only brought balsamic vinegar. Awful flavor. I should have just asked for butter. We ordered the Veal Parmesan and Spicy Sausage. It arrived with no pasta! We questioned and he said pasta must be ordered. You would think the establishment would train their servers to ask "Would you like pasta with your order?" Even fast food employees ask if you want fries! Save your time and money. Macaroni Grill OR Carabbas...similar prices, but much better service and better food.

We have eaten here several times at the Florida Mall and several times at the Maitland location. I would suggest going to Maitland. There were 3 of us eating today (Florida Mall location). Two of us ordered Chicken Parmesan with pasta on the side, one ordered lasagna and we ordered a small salad to share which was plenty for the three of us at 2 full servings each. The salad was nice and fresh - very good! It is well worth the extra few dollars to add the prosciutto and gorgonzola cheese. The lasagna was burnt on the outside, cold in the middle, and VERY DRY - must have run out of sauce while they were making it, but I could have done better myself making this dish. The chicken parmesan was very good, not dry. In the past I have ordered this several times where it was burnt on the edges and they tried to cover it up with cheese and sauce. This time it was good. HOWEVER - both of us got pasta on the side and it was cold, not just lukewarm but cold. We got there 20 minutes after they opened, they weren't busy at all so don't know what their problem was. We told the waitress and the manager came by and offered to give us fresh pasta. Fine, but that should have been done in the first place. Not so much as sorry or anything. The service was so-so at best. Now, in the past we have had Betsy as our server and I can't remember when I have had a better server so if you go here do yourself a favor and request her as you will be guaranteed to get good service. For a $50 meal it really wasn't worth it. There are too many other Italian restaurants to put up with cold food, burnt food, and dried out lasagna that tasted days old. So, I think Buca at Florida Mall has seen the last of us. I would NOT recommend this for a good Italian meal! The only reason I even gave this 2 stars as the salad was great.

After receiving our drinks my dad asked for sweetener (why don't they keep this on the table?) ... we asked 3 times over half an hour before we FINALLY received a basket of sweeteners. Then the waiter brought over some bread - it looked quite good when we saw it in the kitchen; but what was delivered to us what cold - like refrigerated cold - really? My mom asked for butter and you would have thought she asked for gold - "butter? you want butter? I'm going to bring oil and vinegar" . why yes, she wants butter ... and why wasn't the oil and vinegar brought over at the same time as the bread. We ate the bread - about half hour later we got butter and oil and vinegar ... so, yes, by then we needed more bread. Food finally arrived - the spaghetti - happily al dente - was cold .. again .. refrigerator cold - with warm sauce on it. Took a while to track down someone (not our waiter) to tell them our food was cold. She offered to "re-toss" our pasta - I guess that means throw it in a pot and put hotter sauce on it - but I guess they did cook it some more - because now it was no longer al dente it was soft and squishy. Forget getting refills on our drinks -- actually my dad did manage a new ice tea - my mom and I, however, went without. Came to asking for boxes for leftovers and our bill - we got 2 boxes (for 3 people; but to be fair it was 2 meals) - we asked for another box - you'd think we asked for some more gold. 10 or 15 minutes later we received another box - but no bill. It was quite noisy in the restaurant and my dad has problems with his ears so he was getting very grouchy. Asked for our bill again and the waiter told us that he was sorry we FELT THAT WE WERE WAITING TOO LONG FOR THINGS. Now we didn't have appetizers, we didn't have dessert, all we had was dinner - and we were there over 2 hours. YES I do think we were waiting too long ... I think we spent 1/2 hour eating and 1 1/2 hours waiting .. of course that was not all at the same time as other people. my dad ate first .. my mom and I were sharing so we ate second. And what is with the spaghetti - last time I received one inch long pieces of spaghetti I was 5 years old and too young to twirl. My mom made a comment that we didn't have spoons for twirling and I'm like "you can't twirl 1 inch long pieces of pasta". Buca's ONLY serves family style (spaghetti and meatballs in the small size is $19- comes with 2 meatballs - and serves 2 - 3 people ) - salad is not included - salad, by the way, is $12 - $14 dollars for the small size ... I consider this rather expensive -- considering most Italian restaurants serve salad for free - especially considering there is an Olive Garden and a Carrabas within less than a mile. Desserts are about $14 dollars. We won't be back. the flavor of the food was "ok" .. to be fair my dad said his tasted good but was not worth the bad service, noisy room, and aggravation we went through. My mom and I both had the same "it's OK" opinion

It's not often we get out to the Florida mall but today we did ..it was crazy but found a great spot in front of BUCA so perfect dinner and then walking it off afterwards...until we went to use the restroom before we went in...no garlic or sauce smell there ...IT stunk!! Like old stale URINE in the men's room and women was not as nice...YUCK big turn off!! I'm sure the food is great again but did not want to hang around...so we went across to California pizza !! They get 4 stars on bathrooms and food ...CIO!!!

We always pass by this Florida mall restaurant but never realized it's actually rated high from Yelp so we decided to give it a try the day after my wife's birthday to celebrate on a Saturday night. I made the reservation using Open Table and got there and got seated right away. And yes we were kinda forced into doing the 30 seconds kitchen tour/walkthrough which all the chefs were not busy for some reason and stared at you and smiled creepily as you walked by. We saw the Pope table and all the interesting photos and decors throughout the walls which some were really cool but may not be appropriate for little kids (but I'm sure the kids are distracted enough and not paying attention to stuff men like to see). We sat and ordered right away because we went through the menu at home prior coming for any new restaurants we go to save time for the server. We got the Chicken parmigiana, Oven roasted salmon, Linguine Frutti di Mar, and a side of Fettuccine Alfredo, Garlic mashed potato and the sausages. The Server explained this is the Italian family style so it come in a small or big bowl for everyone to share. Good thing we ordered them in small and we still had leftovers. The food was actually really good compared to other Italian places and my seafood linguine had full of mussels, claims, squids and shrimps, awesome! The server spared my wife with the mega-smash-singing-birthday -song which we saw our next table had and he brought out the small brownie sundae for us discretely. That was tasty also! We all really enjoyed the place. On the way out we bumped into the host which we joked about doing the kitchen tour again backward and we all laughed and exited the place nicely! The place was packed at 9:30pm which was unusual but it's cool that we got in without waiting. I will definitely go back to this place again!

Very impressed. Friendly and attentive staff with huge portions of delicious Italian dishes. I highly recommend the Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken and my family enjoyed the variety of pastas on the Quattro al Forno. Make sure your kids save room for the Colossal Brownie Sundae!

Good food for a franchise. The food is served family style, so the portions are huge. My favorite dishes are the rigatoni and prosciutto stuffed chicken. The lasagna was pretty good. I wasn't a fan of their Alfredo sauce but anything with red sauce is pretty good. Friendly staff, very accommodating. Perfect for big groups.

I've been to this particular Buca di Beppo for lunch and dinner. You will find it on the back end of a mall next to a huge Crayola Experience store. (trust me, you can't miss the Crayola store front. Buca is just the other side of the Mall entrance) Dinners are "family style" and an order of pasta or an entree will feed the table. Lunches are made to be individual servings, but be warned, they are still generous portions. I had the meatball sub and rosemary potatoes for lunch and it was delicious. I ordered a Tiramisu (for one) to go and while very tasty, it was a little heavy and not as creamy as I would have liked. The restaurant itself is decorated in the "Italy on Steroids" style and is clean and comfortable. The service was really good and our waitress was attentive, pleasant and on top of everything. I had been away from home for several weeks and after getting picked up at the airport, Buca di Beppo was my first choice for a welcome home meal. It can be pricey when ordering family style and lunches are priced mid-range. ( starting at $9.99 on average per plate not counting drinks or appetizer) For a good meal and good service, I recommend it.

Buca di Beppo is amazing. My two friends and I went there with our three children and we ordered the family size Alfredo and stuffed chicken and it fed all six of us and we still took tons of food home. The waiting service is amazing. Our waiter was on top of his game. Never once did I have an empty glass of water, he kept the bread and oil full on the table; and I did not even have to ask for a refill once. The restaurant is very nice and upbeat. We heard their birthday song at least three times well we were there. They make ones birthday very important. Overall I loved this restaurant, an they are pricey but worth it with the amount of food they serve. Oh! Did I mention he serving sizes were huge...

Where should I start. I made a reservation three months ago for this location for we dined here twice back in 2010. We were on vacation then and are on vacation again this visit. Yes things can change but wow no comparison. In my reservation request I asked for the kitchen table for we requested and received this previously. We did not get seated at our reservation time. They called me three days in advance to confirm the reservation. We are the only group sitting in the lobby. After 15 minutes I ask the hostess what was going on and she smiles and indicated she "wondered where we were!" We are then led to a booth in the bar! Really? Blah blah blah server does his spiel and asks if we would like any drinks. The beer I wanted on tap was out of stock but sure I'll take a bottle. My wife asked for sparkling wine and is asked for her I.D. She is 45, she does not have it. "Sorry can't serve you". This could go on and on for everything all evening here. Other people had similar issues and left. There were managers 10 feet from us discussing people that left due to the insanity of everything going on. Excuses were given by the server, for he was running around chaotically all night for "they had a lot of big groups come in before us". He continuously forgot to get us things etc.... A lot of the issues were not directly correlated to the server rather the issues/information/policies flowed from above. Usually this is a fun place to eat and the food is fine enough. We will never bother with even considering this "chain" again.

My wife and I had the Chicken Saltimbocca with spaghetti and marinara sauce, and salad with Prosciutto and Gorgonzola cheese which tasted great. It was a bit dark inside and a brighter atmosphere would have given 5-star, but the food was excellent.

A rainy Saturday evening and I was craving pasta. We decided to venture out into the rain and go to Buca. We hadn't been to one in years and didn't really know what to expect. We were seated immediately. Our server Rick was excellent! It was really refreshing having such great service. He was very personable. We ordered 2 pastas and a bottle of wine. The portions were even bigger than I remembered. We had enough left over for another whole meal. The food was delicious- try the meatballs, you won't regret it!

I have been searching for a traditional Italian meal since moving to Florida. It took a visit to Orlando to finally find it. My daughter and I had the Penne ala Vodka it was amazing. My daughter and my wife had the ravioli also amazing. At least the little piece I got was. They didn't want to share. Want a great Italian meal when in Orlando. Well you can find it here.

Typical chain restaurant food. Everything presented had been previously frozen, from the pasta to the canoliis, NOTHING is made fresh. I loathe Orlando for this reason-so many tourists pay for this shitty food that these chain food restaurants think they can get away with serving low-quality food. The only reason to dine here is if you want to save money feeding a large family of people & you have no tastebuds. Yuck.

This place is so dirty and unsanitary that I cannot fathom eating here again. Also, REALLY overpriced and not geared for kids. There are photos of naked women on the walls.

Best Italian food ive had in Florida by far. Im a Nwe Yorker, so I know my food! Visited this location with family as we were desperately seeking some pasta, and boyyyy did we find some pasta! Huge family size portions that can easliy feed 2-3more then specified. Friendly and attentive staff who were all very welcoming from the very start. Pasta, bread and Salad were all very good, as we were all pleasantly surprised with taste/quality of our dishes (Baked Ziti/Ceaser Salad/Garlic bread). Not a fan of carpeted resturants, and the location of the *mall it self is shady, therefor I deducted a star. Bottom line is, if you are looking for some good Italian food while in FL, give Buca a try, we did and it was a great experience! Enjoy! *located within the Florida mall

Ordered the ziti spicy chicken to go. The ziti was dry with little sauce. The chicken was overcooked and lacked any spicy flavor. This dish did not taste Italian and with little flavor. For the price, of over $10, you would expect more. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

Like old stale URINE in the men's room and women was not as nice...YUCK big turn off!! I'm sure the food is great again but did not want to hang around...so we went across to California pizza !! They get 4 stars on bathrooms and food ...CIO!!!

I love Buca di Beppo. I've loved it since my first visit to this location many a year ago for a sorority function, I've loved it since visiting the Brandon location (closer to where my family lives), and continue loving it since my return with my fiance this past month. The vintage decor truly speaks to me. Everything just delights my eyes. And the food- perfection. You won't find generic, bland flavorings here. And the Italian sodas are just too fun. My only wish is that I may dine while a pope head rotates in the middle of the table, glancing at me every so often.

Came to eat a late lunch and ordered spaghetti with meat sauce but was given the option to change my pasta. All the staff members were VERY nice. The bruschetta was different and lacked balsamic vinegar but all was very yummy. Will return with more people next time. Dinner for two still left me with plenty leftovers. My daughter ordered a non-alcoholic drink and got a boxed souvenir cup with it. We all left happy.

I think it's okay and the portions are big enough to have some to go. I had a chicken parmigiana, very good but no side included.

I'm only rating this restaurant 3 stars due to the poor service. We walked into an empty lobby after waiting a few minutes a hostess showed up and seemed very confused on where she would be seating us. No tour as most Buca's do. After being seated it was a good 10 minutes before the server showed up to the table. He took our order and that was the last we saw of him until the meal was almost over. The food was wonderful as always but again the service was very poor.

OMG ! So I'm from New York and we know our food out here, but this place was awesome ! I deff say its worth going too ! I loved this place. The waiter was friendly and very helpful. The place was a family style restaurant so it basically felt cozy and welcome. Its a big proportion plate for 2 ! The food was delicious ! I would go back there next time I come for a visit to Florida :) !

Ate here a few years ago and it was great, this visit was a total let down and a huge waste of money. We were there about 3pm and it wasn't crowded at all. Our server was kind of unfriendly and seemed annoyed that she had to wait on us. We ordered the Pasta San Remo and the Margherita pizza. The pasta was mushy, like it had been overcooked. The flavor was just okay. The chicken tasted like "particle chicken" that you get in a package. It was not fresh chicken breast, that's for sure. In all honesty, the dish tasted like an off-brand frozen dinner. It was gross and certainly not worth what we paid for it. The pizza was alright but not great. Once again, it tasted like a frozen dinner. The dough was under baked, the tomato sauce was bland. Once again, not worth what we paid for it. Save your money and eat at the food court.

The saving grace of giving this place 4 stars and not less is their manager. He was on the ball, and making sure things moved quickly at the kitchen pass. My family and I sat in the kitchen table, and our server was virtually non existent. The manager because our psudo server, and made sure we were taken care of. Good thing.. otherwise, the server would have received a below average tip.

The service here was slow, but it accomadated a lot of us. I believe there were 13 of us and they pretty much were closing when we got sat down. The restaurant wasn't crowded because I swear nobody leaves their house in Florida after 8! LOL... The food was amazing as always! I had the stuffed chicken parmesan!! It was so ono!!! I just hope they get their servers to actually serve the table a little quicker (as far as drink re-fills and stuff).

I will definitely go back to this place again!

went with a group on 4 this past saturday and had a great time. We ordered: Spicy Chicken Rigatoni: Awaken your taste buds with a new favorite - tender chicken breast sautéed with garlic and red pepper, tossed with peas, a spicy rosa sauce and imported Italian rigatoni pasta. Fried Mozzarella: Hand-breaded mozzarella fried golden brown and served on a bed of homemade marinara sauce; aboiut $10 for 4 triangles Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken: Breaded chicken breasts stuffed with mozzarella and prosciutto, baked and topped with marinara, served on a bed of pesto cream sauce. Each dish is served a la carte, ranges about $19 each for a small, but you have so much that its about 2 days worth of food. The chicken was amazing as always, flavorful, juicy and huge! The pasta was really good though the opposite of spicy...not bland but no where near spicy. The good thing with them is that their food appears exactly as they do in the photos, which is rare, everything is large, saucy and appetizing. Reservations are recommended. I'd also recommend their desserts, any of them as well as the following: Mozzarella Caprese: Vine-ripened tomatoes and fresh mozzarella drizzled with basil olive oil and topped with fresh basil leaves. Penne Basilica: Tender chicken breast, broccoli and a light pesto cream sauce with imported Italian penne pasta Penne San Remo: Tender chicken breast, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes and peas tossed with imported Italian penne pasta in a white wine cream sauce.

This is a terrible waste of money. Overpriced, poor quality. When this chain first opened about 10 years ago it was significantly better. They like many chains have outlived their business model. I will not be going back.

Had some Free Spaghetti today! Yay for free pasta day! :) Love the food, dropped in rating due to SERVICE!!! I work in the service industry, concierge, so I may be a little more harsh with my expectations. Food, wonderful. Manager stopped by, Wonderful. I noticed parties around us were larger and were getting more attention from our server. What I was not a big fan of was the fact that there shouldn't have been any less attentiveness happening just because we were a party of 3. It took 20 minutes for our food dishes to get cleared (once we were totally done) and get our check. The server bringing us the dessert menu and then the check was super and I wish she was our server the entire time. Once she brought our check we were paid and out of there in 5 minutes. (with 3 types of payment too). In any case, let me tell you that it's not the service that brings me back. It's the delish food and the fact that I signed up for the Buca club and I get coupons. Hopefully next time I can rate it a 4 again...or even a 5.

I hadn't been to Buca in a while... I was never into it but my friends like going there so I go there only when I'm with said friends. I went there on a Friday night but the place was "packed" with reservations!?! At a glance it didn't seem too busy, there weren't very many people waiting at the front. Deceiving, they hand out pagers and take reservations at 2 separate places, one at the entrance inside the mall and at the "main" entrance from the parking lot. We ordered the lasagna because someone had ordered it at the next table and it looked delicious... (que epic fail soundtrack) It was GROSS! It tasted like plain tomato paste and everything was soggy, the chunks of meat in it were like rubber bouncy balls that you get out of a 25 cent machine or for 10 tickets at the arcade. BLEH! The Chicken parm was alright... a little on the rubery side but when you wait that long, it's close to 10 pm and starving it wasn't too bad. It still tasted like breaded chicken with a bunch of supermarket-ready-to-eat pasta sauce with no additional tweaks. If I weren't so hungry I probably would have just drank more wine or cocktails... then flavours don't really matter so much anyways, do they? I haven't been to any other Buca's so I can't speak for the entire chain but this one was a major disappointment. Meh! mEh! meH!! No sanks. Note: they serve family style

I give this place a soft three. The showcase walk through the kitchen was a mess, the Pope's head in a box is creepy. The staff is unenthusiastic, the food was bland, overpriced, and way excessive. My waitress was supposed to split the bill in half and run two different cards. Instead she ran my card twice...I could go on. Just go to olive garden and have a more pleasurable experience.

Buca is awesome. They serve huge portions, and it tastes great. The baked ziti, spicy chicken rigatoni, and lasagna have all been excellent. Went here with 4 others and we got 1 large and 1 small portion of pasta and it was more than enough for all five of us with enough for a lunch the following week. The decor is tacky but fun (pictures anywhere they can fit them, and some of them show *gasp* penises and boobies.... but... like... in sculptures, not like in Jugs or Hustler). It is at the Florida Mall, so there's going to be no issue parking, but you might have a long walk depending on what day and time you go. They have Peroni on tap. They have tasty deserts and a huge menu; plan on leaving stuffed. Tell them it's your first time and they'll walk you through the kitchen; if you are lucky, you'll get one of the skilled hosts or hostesses that can do the tour walking backwards so they face you the entire time. Kudos to the ones that can swing this, and whoever had this idea; it works perfectly as I have had a hostess walk me through facing away and looking back over her shoulder and we could barely hear her in the kitchen, but the one that walked backwards was heard perfectly. I've been several times and never leave disappointed. If you like italian food, or are a really fat person with $30, you're going to dig this joint.

My family and I were here 2 years ago... and thought the place was great, family friendly and family style food. Fast forward 2 years later... back with the family again. The food was horrible!!! I don't know what happened but the appetizer, came straight from the freezer in the the fryer, linguine with shrimp and spinach had no flavor and the pasta was over cooked. and the SWEET chicken masala was disgusting!!! I don't know how they serve it in the south but in NY... the land of Italian restaurant on every block does not serve it sweet! The manager came over and told us that masala sauce they use is extra sweet... I think the wait staff should had told us. And he knew it was on the sweeter side.. Seriously, my uncle tried masala sauce for the first time and thought it tasted like sweet and sour chicken from a chinese restaurant... come on now~!!!! They tried to may it up by giving us a NY style cheesecake. And coming from NY... it was no NY Cheesecake. -- but the gesture was there! The service was good otherwise! Perhaps Olive Garden next time. At least I know the bread sticks, salad and soups are good.

The meals here used to be the best, but over the last few years it's gone down. However, good news, the food has begun to improve again. We ordered spaghetti with marinara sauce. To have it like they used to make it, we ordered cheese melted on top. That's the tip to improving this dish. The cheese is extra, but worth it. The chef still needs to drain the pasta better. My friend's dish was good, but mine had a fair amount of water at the bottom. Also, I'd prefer to have the sauce smooth rather than like chopped tomatoes. If a sauce is cooked all day, it gets smooth, not lumpy. Lumpy tomatoes are NOT the sign of a good sauce nor a good chef. Sorry.

We visited here for the 2nd time in the last month. It was hit and miss the 1st time, but we figured it was just an off day, so we tried again while doing Christmas shopping. Both times, there was a sign outside the restaurant advertising their lunch specials starting at $6.99. When we asked for a lunch menu, we were told they don't offer much on the lunch menu on the weekends, but we were reluctantly given lunch menus. The lunch entrees are quite expensive for portion size. We were able to add on a very good salad each for .99 the first time. On our second visit, we again asked for the lunch menu & given the same speech that he would have to check with the manager first. Then he gave us lunch menus. We asked for the .99 salads with our entrees. He said they were not offering those anymore. However, the waitress on both sides of us did offer those .99 salads to all guests seated around us??? I feel like they do whatever they can to not offer customer service. $35.00 for two people for lunch (and small portions)? We won't return...

My first visit, I enjoyed everything. The "Taco Bell" test for italian can go to Olive Garden or Fazoli's. Either way, Buca passes. The family-style serving works best with a large group, we had 12 and it was perfect for a wide variety of main courses as well as appetizers. The wait staff was attentive, and I HIGHLY recommend taking a birthday guest. Also, if you can get it, go for the creepy spinning pope head table.

Service went from pretty good to rude over the course of our late lunch (3:30-ish, the restaurant was still pretty busy though). Loved the fun-tacky decor. Food ranged from great (Mediterranean salad, mozzarella garlic bread) to just ok for our entrees (lasagna, chicken parm). Would probably give the chain another chance at a different location.

I organized a dinner here after a small conference with about 35 people. The place was great! The staff was friendly and timely with setting up our private dining. Word of warning though do not use the email form, no one got back to me but, as soon as I called they were more than helpful. The food was great! There was so much of it though that it was hard to really enjoy it all. The biggest hits seemed to be the salad, fettuccine alfredo, chicken parm, and cannolis!

The meal started with frozen bread then we had to ask for butter for the bread. The entree appeared to be deepfried breaded eggplant.-parm I was hungry so i ate it, but I do not believe that deepfrying eggplant is the ideal way to serve it. The air conditioning was uncomfortably cold and drafty and made me want to put a sweater on. Since it is florida, I did not have a sweater so I went outside to warm up.

Family style dining is the way to go if you have a group for sure. Buca knows how to do Italian, and their Chopped Antipasto Salad is the best salad I have ever had. In fact there have been several occasions that I have called and ordered a small to pick up and take home to eat off of for a day or two. Because it is a chain, I suggest you find the closest one in your area and try it out if you have not already. Just make sure you have your appetite intact as it is after all Family Style so you get more than enough to eat while there and take the rest home for the next few days! Bottom line, GO!

Honestly, after reading these previous reviews I seriously questioned our choice to redeem coupons...K.I.S.S is the rule here. I ordered the lunch portion of Spaghetti and meatball ($9.99) and a salad. Service was prompt and professional. Our server was a chatty "Erin" and she never left us wanting for anything during the meal, despite being a fairly busy Sunday lunch. Food came out hot and freshly prepared...LOVE the marinara and the meatball was a hoof short of a freekin COW ;O). I gotta say...this stuff hit the spot with us and after licking our plates we crawled out of the place! I can't believe I'd ever eat a Dinner portion...The lunch portion was biG. Buca Di Beppo is (Joe's Basement or Basement of Joe's) in Italian...In American it means Good Eatin!

Take the kittchen tour, very cool and super clean Like Omg clean. The garlic bread was dlicious and compared to any PiZza place I'd give it a 10. The wait staff was friendly and helpfull. the drinks are a bit weak but well made. We ordered the stuffed chicken with some long Itilian name and there is soooooo much food. For the 2 of us it was way to much. We allso got potatoes mashed and they where so good the chicken I'd give a 7 of 10 very tender and flaverfull. If you are wondering on the pesto it's very good.

This is the friendliest BDB I've ever dined at. Everyone here is nice. The food is the same compared to other chains, perhaps a little less tasty here. I didn't really like their spaghetti & meatballs and the cheese pizza wasn't that great. Their fried calamari seems consistently good at all the BDB's. What impressed me the most at this place is that the staff seems genuinely nice about taking care of you. It's the first BDB where the chef came out after the meal to inquire if everything was good! It's a chef owned with a managing partner chain. Finding this place was a pain. Our Garmin kept telling us to drive into the mall and the place would be right on the corner. Turns out, the place is located deep in the gigantic mall sandwiched between Macy's and Nordstrom's. It's a big outdoor mall complex. They have a ton of interesting things to read and look at on their walls. Photos of old time actors and things to read, including the following joke (a printed version was framed on the wall at the restaurant but I found an animated version on video), it's quite funny. idkwtf.com/videos/latest… The staff even brought out candelabras for their table and sang "Happy Birthday" to his guy. As usual, portions are huge.

Unless you have a huge family or come in with a huge party, the service is going to go from ok to "it sucks"! We go to this location a few times a year, although it had been a while since we last went, the service was better that last time because we had a much larger party with us. Of course the server is going to like a bigger party, because that means a bigger tip. Oh, and if you have a coupon, don't expect any service at all except serving your food cold and making you wait for the bill for a while. Don't get me wrong, the food is AWESOME when it's not cold and the prices are mostly reasonable. This is the first time I write a review on yelp so this means that this time at Buca, it wasn't a pleasant experience compared to past visits. IF waiting for your food to then get it cold or waiting for anyone to notice you need a drink refill or you need to pay the bill so you can go waste time somewhere else isn't what I you want out of any high end family restaurant like Buca, then go somewhere else instead. Bottom line, the service needs major improvement.

The service was terrible. We didn't even make it in to eat. They lost our reservation and we waited over 25 minutes for our table. The hostesses were unapologetic, so we ended up leaving. We have enjoyed Buca in MN and IL but unfortunately not here.

Looove this place! I've gone here with parties as small as 4 people and as large as 9 people, but they treated us all wonderfully just the same. The food here is amazingly good! I particularly love the chicken marsala, penne arrabbiata, shrimp fra diavolo and chicken canneloni. The pizzas are great too. Even though they do have some individual portions available, this is definitely a restaurant where you have to be comfortable enough with everyone else to share. It has a comfy, family home feel to it. The pictures on the wall also crack me up and are great conversations pieces while you wait for the meal. If it's your first time there, make sure to get a tour of the kitchen. It's very entertaining. As for dessert, I HIGHLY recommend the tiramisu. You can just taste the rum and coffee soaked deep into the ladyfingers. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Buca is located in the Florida Mall, right across from California Pizza Kitchen, which is great in its own right, but if you're bringing a crowd, Buca is the prime choice!

I haven't been to this resturant in a long time, I ordered the Alfredo supreme and it came out just Alfredo... They took it back to bring me the right order and the alfredo sauce was still icey and chunky! The service at the bar was horrible. I'm a server myself and it was the worst service ever. No apologies until the manager came over... The other dish was excellent but I would not ever return due to the service

If you like italian food, or are a really fat person with $30, you're going to dig this joint.

went with a group on 4 this past saturday and had a great time.

I go there often, love their food and italian atmosphere but the last time I was there with some friends, the waitress at the end said "my 18% tip is not included"!!! WTH!!!!!!!!

My family and I have been here countless times and are never disappointed. The Chicken Penne San Remo is a must! The Cheese Ravioli is also very good. Wish they had one out in East Orlando. :(

  • Pete H.

The service was terrible. We didn't even make it in to eat. They lost our reservation and we waited over 25 minutes for our table. The hostesses were unapologetic, so we ended up leaving. We have enjoyed Buca in MN and IL but unfortunately not here.

  • Adeile A.

Yuck.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
