Was not impressed. We only had two sushi items, both which were average. One sounded so exciting on the menu and was disappointing. The quality of fish was slightly below average. We expected it to be expensive, but thus, though it would be decent. It disappointed. On the positive sides, I did like the staff. I like the relaxed atmosphere. If you sit in the middle section you can order from the menu next door as well. Our drinks were great, and brought promptly. I would not go. You have better options within the hotel.

Very expensive, very slow service. $4.50 for a miso soup is ridiculous. Got the Banrai Sushi Entree (10 pieces of nigiri - chef selection + Banrai roll). Fish was just average, experience in general just "MEH" as yelp would say. An average meal at an expensive price.

Restaurant Review: Banrai Sushi at Rosen Shingle Creek. Some unusual offerings here. You can read the complete review at my website.

We visited this restaurant based on positive reviews and were HIGHLY disappointed. We love sushi, but this meal was a disaster. We requested milk for one of our children and we were told that they did not have milk. Strange, I thought, but I can live with that. We started with Miso which was very good. Then proceeded to order sweet shrimp with heads, salmon roe, tuna belly, salmon, and a few rolls. The sweet shrimp heads have always been served fried in every sushi restaurant I have visited across the country. Not the shrimp, but the heads. Not these... We were served tuna rather than tuna belly. When we pointed this out, they did switch this out for us. Then after waiting for quite a bit of time, we asked about the wait on the salmon roe. Our waitress informed us that it would be a while because it was thawing - never encountered this either. We also ordered chicken skewers for the kids, and had to send them back to the kitchen. 4 skewers of tough overcooked chicken between soggy wilted asparagus. Our kids thought it was awful as did I. I ordered them a bowl of sticky rice that was hardly edible. Let me say that we take our children with us to sushi frequently, and expected this meal to be like every other, or a step up based on the hotel. Highly disappointed. We requested a dessert menu thinking our kids were incredibly patient. Informed that they didn't have dessert. We left frustrated, hungry with a bill close to $300. After we requested, they did validate our parking.

While stuck at the Shingle Creek Resort I had an early lunch here because everywhere else on the property opened at 5:30 or 6. Thank goodness for silly late openings! I had the Atlantic roll and the tuna roll. Both were waaaaay better than what I've had back home. The presentation was beautiful as well. I barely wanted to eat the pretty display. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying at the resort or even nearby. If you get the chance it is a gem! p.s. Got to talk a lot to the employees there and they are really sweet people. They will take care of you!

Extremely expensive for sushi, $12 for a simple yellow tail roll and over $24 for a special roll! Overall the sushi was average, the fish quality was average but dressed up to fit the price. Service was average, the sushi chefs weren't talkative or friendly either, just focused on their job.

The salad was pretty good w blueberries and just enough ginger dressing. The rolls were good and fresh. Gets kinda noisy w diff music playing in the restaurant section and hotel section. The service was good too. If I didn't have a gift cert, I prob wouldn't have gone there. They validated a $16 self parking ticket which I thought was ridiculous.

This place was nice. It was 8:00pm my girlfriend and I went there for our 2 years it was dead but the staff was very friendly and a little shy at first but once you talk to them they opened up well. Everything was super fresh I work at a sushi bar and was very impressed... Nice place to enjoy a nice quiet dinner.
