The burgers consistently come back the wrong temperature and overcooked. The service is fantastic. They made the empanadas smaller, but they're still a great value during happy hour. The Bahamarita is bigger than it used to be and better. Get the smaller draft during happy hour. If you run the math it works out cheaper per ounce. Not enough TV's for a big group game night. But the outdoor section is fun and often has live music. I can't say enough great things about the staff here.

This location is good but they've recently changed the menu items. Some of the Bahama Breeze's used to have cuban bread (SO GOOD!) which is now off the menu. They used to have fried yucca bites, which were absolutely amazing. It's been changed to a yucca stuffed cheese ball. Not a fan of the menu constantly changing. For my main course, I had a stuffed plantain and it was delicious. Though, I'd like for some of the original dishes to remain on the menu.

Yina took care of us tonight at Bahama Breeze. Great service and amazing customer service!! Definitely will be back. Sat out on the patio while listening to the live band. Great atmosphere for any occasion.

I've been coming to Bahamas Breeze for as long as I can remember I think partially because it's great for larger parties and there is something on the menu for everyone even for those who aren't particularly daring but want to step outside their zone. We were seated immediately and asked for our drink order. A lemonade, tea and a water - simple enough. No lemons brought for the tea and she didn't bring them until my Dad was halfway done with it. We ordered beef empanadas to share which were stuffed with seasoned curry and vegetables and accompanied with a chutney and sour cream based sauces. I immediately noticed my silverware was dirty. There was dried up food on one fork and they other just wasn't very clean. Understanding things happen I asked for another fork. Our entrees arrived when we had empty glasses which required to ask for refills which would not have been provided as our server was getting ready to walk away without offering. My jerk shrimp was properly cooked and had the perfect blend of heat with fresh thyme sprigs in the amazing sauce which is perfect for dunking the small loaf of Cuban bread. The others ordered Jerk Chicken pasta which was good, not great. It just lacked something special. The chipotle chicken bowl was a big bowl but mostly filled with rice. Neither dish was exciting - but pretty "safe" choices. I guess what you would expect from a chain restaurant of this stature. I am sure I will be back at some point but there are just so many great restaurants in central Florida worth exploring first.

Sorry Floridians, but this restaurant proves to me that people born and raised here, don't know good quality food. Went here several times after seeing the massive crowds. Didn't like the food at all. Figured it was just me. Took 3 separate groups of people at different times and they all cuss me out or complained. The only good thing is the drinks and a desert they have I believe is banana cake or bread with ice cream. Delicious.

My cousin and I stopped by this location for a bite and some drinks. We took a seat at the bar and our drink order was taken. I ordered a tropical drink with rum, pineapple, creme de coco, and nutmeg. It wouldn't be a drink I would notmally order but it was very good. We sampled their beed empanadas. They were served hot and crispy. The two dipping sauces where very good but the fruity mango salsa was awesome. I ordered the shrimp and grits for my entree with the house salad. The house salad was very nice and looked very appealing. The dressing was incredible. I wanted to take a bottle home but they dont sell it. The cheesy grits were tasty and the shrimp perfectly cooked. When brought together the shrimp, mushroom, bacon, and grits are pure bliss. The bar staff was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. I would definately eat and drink here again.

When I come to Bahama Breeze, I've got one thing in mind: Bahamian. Seafood. Chowder. I can't say enough about how good this stuff is. Full of seafood flavor without being fishy, and a nice bit of spiciness. My wife likes the chicken tortilla soup, which is good, especially if you like avocado. The empanadas are a favorite of ours too. For some reason the beef empanadas are an appetizer, while the chicken empanadas are a small plate. The menu doesn't say it, but the beef empanadas have yellow curry in them. Normally I don't care much for yellow curry, but it's mild, and it works with the beef. We also always order the Jamaican jerk wings. They come with a dipping sauce in case you want more spiciness. We've tried the tacos, but we weren't at all impressed. We'll be sticking with the soups, wings and empanadas for sure!

came by for a quick snack with my 9 year old. Ordered the ahi tuna, conch fritters and the two versions of their virgin piña colada. My son had the ultimate which he loved and I the plain. Loved the ahi tuna but then again I haven't found an ahi tuna I haven't liked so far.

It's like eating microwave ready foods. For the price and quality of the food it should never be your go to place for meals. This a go to places for appetizers and drinks. It is an island themed restaurant and can make you feel that way but I could sure use some sand on my feet. If they make a sand volleyball court with a bar this place would definitely improve my rating. But for food - nah!

Two dinners. One had 4 pieces of broccoli and a tiny piece fish. Waitress took plate. Returned about 5 mins later with same plate. Said kitchen mgr said he would cook another piece but go ahead and eat first plate while you wait. Second piece of fish arrived 10 min after finish eating first plate. Served with nothing. Pull the remainder of my cold potatoes on 2nd plate. Plate number 2 -wrong sides. Waitress took plate. Returned about 4 min later with new plate minus most of the mango salsa that was on first plate of fish. Cool, dry fish with nice hot sides. No manager in site. Just a nice waitress running our plates back and forth to kitchen. $52 plus $11 tip. Next time will go to Bonefish, just down the street. Not returning to this "care less" restaurant.

On this visit was so so. I order the chicken tacos with out the peppers and mushrooms. The waitress said it would be cheese and I said that's fine and got guacamole. When it came out it have the peppers and mushrooms. I picked them out. The mojitos was good. The waitress was awesome and she deserve high praise for dealing with the person I was with. Kudos to you.

I'd say this place is mediocre. The parking lot is always packed so I figured it was very good. Turns out all the cars in the parking lot are for shoppers at dicks sporting goods. So great that there isn't a wait here, most places are packed Friday nights. The food, ehhh; nothing special. I think my plate was around $14 and it was much smaller than what you'd get at other places in the same price range. We went on my birthday. They do not give you a dessert on your birthday. I didn't think that was a big deal but my friends did. I did like the atmosphere of the place. Our waitress kept forgetting what we needed and barely came around.

First time visit for me but I was with a party of 6 last nite. My banana daquari was full of banana but no rum or even rum flavor. Ordered conch fritters - greasy, flavorless and no conch. Dinner was bow tie pasta with jerk shrimp (switched jerk chicken with shrimp). Not impressed with dish. I know it was overpriced for what it was. Other dishes at the table steak with crab I hear was awful. Coconut shrimp did get good review as well as pork cubano. All in all found this place way overpriced for the quality of food. 4 out of the 6 people in the party left the restaurant hungry and we had desert. Oh banana bread desert fail. Chocolate moose tasty. Server very energized, attentive and pleasant. Will not return to BB. I like darden, OG my favorite but this was a real bummer.

Bahama Breeze is a great restaurant to get quality food at a decent price. The Grilled Chicken with Cilantro Crema and mashed potatoes is by far the best entree on the menu. It's very delicious; I highly recommend it. Other favorites include the Calypso Shrimp Linguine and Paella if you like a little kick in flavor. I also recommend the Frozen Bahamarita and Strawberry Daiquiri if you're looking for fruity drinks. Overall, I highly recommend Bahama Breeze in general and for this location.

Seriously? This is what the local believe is the best Caribbean restaurant in the area. When you first come to the place, it is quite inviting. The ambiance give you a feel like you are in the Bahamas with bright colorful table, chairs, and decoration. However, it is lacking in customer service and authenticity of the food. Customer service: Forgot to give us utensil even after we had asked twice. Brought out appetizer after the main course (WTF!). Didn't bring the drink out until after the main course. No fan at outside patio on a summer day (this is freaking Orlando...it is too damn hot to be outside even at 7pm). Food:There is nothing "Bahamian" of the food. It is basically American food. When you think of Bahamian food you think of seafood such as fish, shellfish, lobster, crab, and conch,as well as tropical fruits, rice, peas , potatoes, chicken, and pork with common seasoning like hot pepper, lime, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, garlic, allspice, cinnamon, rum, and coconut. The menu didn't have anything special on it that differentiate itself from American food. After perusing through the menu, we decided on the empanadas, jerk chicken, shrimp and grits. The jerk chicken didn't taste like it had any special spice to it. Plus, it was really dry. The empanada was bland. The shrimp was okay. You can't really go wrong with shrimp. I wanted something that had conch, coconut, and crab but the menu didn't have it. If I wanted American food, I wouldn't have gone here. Left sad and disappointed.

Had lunch here today. Their Black bean soup is one of my favorites along with the Cobb Salad. I also took the opportunity to enjoy a little lunchtime libation with the Mojito Cubano. Server Andrew provided friendly and fast service.

Wait staff is always friendly. Food orders sometimes come back wrong but staff is quick to correct. The happy hour is the best value and the patio often has live music. The beef empanadas and bahamarita were meant for each other.

Nice restaurant with a nice outdoor patio with a live music. My favorites are: Appetizers: Beef Empanada - Coconut shrimp Main : Grilled Chicken Cilantro - Fresh catch grilled Salmon Drink: usually I go for the strawberry lemonade

We came early for a birthday and the food and service were very nice. We had a variety of appetizers off the happy hour menu, coconut shrimp and onion rings were very nice with a great sauce.!they have a nice selection of cocktails , the ultimate piña colada was very tasty. A few of us ordered entrees and the shrimp and grits looked great.

It was disappointing. I've been to the one in Altamonte as well as near Disney. Both were awesome. This one was not very crowded; however it was Sunday night. The service was meh. It took a while to get a fork. I ordered the sirloin Oscar which is usually a good choice. I asked that it be medium well; however it was over cooked. The manager came over and offered apologies. Then removed the dinner from the bill. The server did mention after the fact that they always tend to overcook the steaks. Stick with the coconut shrimp, yuca fries and burgers.

It's late. Its after a football game. I am hungry! Give me food!! We decided on Bahama Breeze. Holy Moly - did you know they have late night specials after 10 PM? It includes half off appetizers and specials on drinks. I'm there! That night we ordered: Lobster and Shrimp Quesadilla, Coconut Shrimp, Jamaican Wings, and seafood corn chowder. Everything is mediocre - nothing spectacular. The two things that never fail me are the Seafood Corn chowder and Jamaican Wings. The chowder is hot, creamy and super rich. It actually has seafood inside. However, I do notice that they don't put fried shrimp on top of the soup anymore. Bummer.... The Jamaican wings are tasty too and never fail to be delicious. It comes out crispy and tender on the inside. It also has a habenero sauce on the side which I can live without. It comes out looking dark but I actually like it more on the charred side to pump up the gas to go to flavor town! :) The rest of our order didn't really garner much attention. The Lobster and Shrimp Quesadilla is kind of like a joke. As an original appetizer it was like 12 bucks - maybe they skimp on it during HH. It has mostly cheese, crumbles of lobster and shrimp and spinach inside. I know I can't expect toooo much so its whatever. Coconut shrimp are well coconut shrimp. Crispy on the outside and not overdone shrimp - which is good! All the food came out hot and our server was very nice despite the fact that its late night and closing time is not from the distant future. All that was for 20 bucks! note: (Its late so if your server was still awesome - give them a few extra bucks!) (ALSO boo no pix - phone died :(((()

The food was great, the drinks were strong, but the high point was our server, Olivia, who need to be recognized. We've been in Michelin 3 star restaurants and have had servers who would not measure up to Olivia. Seriously, she provided the best service we've ever had in our lives. Thanks\Jeff

I have been to this location a few times, and always found it to be a good experience. I went recently on a Friday evening. While there was a wait, to be expected, it was relatively short. The appetizer of coconut shrimp came out almost immediately, and our main courses (shrimp creole and the salmon) not long after that. My toddler got the tilapia filet and scarfed it down. The prices are fair, and the food good. I will definitely be back.

Have been here several times with groups of friends. No matter the size of our group, or even when the place is rocking with large crowds, one thing is constant: Food always arrives on time and piping hot. We have never had a rude food server, which is a big plus for me. Beef Empanada always satisfies as well as the coconut shrimp. Only drawback is that I find it a bit too dark and cloying inside so I prefer to sit outside when a table is available.

So unprofessional that the kitchen and waitstaff are out on the floor of the restaurant in a booth loud an goofing around, cursing, screaming, etc. While I am trying to eat dinner. I inquired with the staff sitting their disturbing my dinner and apparently their is no break room so they just hang in the booths. Our server Richard W was so kind and a great server.

I like their Caribbean curry bowl and few other items. Salads are average. Drinks are excellent. Chicken pasta quality and taste are good. All good. Nice ambience. Good food.

I know when I come here to expect long gaps between the waitress coming by the table, usually something is wrong with the order, having to ask for my tea refills when my glass is clearly empty and overpaying for a small portion of pretty good food. This time was no different. This was the first time I had brought my 4 year old daughter so we got the sliders kids meal. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. She took a bite and said it was hard so I tried it and she was right. I opened it up and saw it wasn't a small patty but rather 1/4 of a full size, overcooked burger. So they can't take the time to make fresh small burgers for kids and instead cut up an adult one and leave the 2 pieces there to be reheated for the next kid that orders sliders?! Kids are people too and should be treated as such, not as an afterthought that are given subpar food.

My friend and I are Bahama Breeze junkies. I think they have one of the best happy hours. If I was rating this restaurant based on regular prices I would give it a 3/5. But happy hour is 4/5 easily. Most the appetizers and drinks are half off. The food is really good! I love the atmosphere, lots of seating, the cleanliness of tables, and the bathrooms are always clean. Cons: the servers usually aren't that good. Any Restaurant in that area tends to have UCF students as servers and they are always slow and never attend to you properly.

    (4)
  • Curt W.

I rarely give 5 stars and I can't say every visit will be like this....but this one was an A plus. My wife and I stopped in for an impromptu lunch...not expecting the large crowd that was there. Apparently UCF had just graduated a large group and this was the post event crowd. Anyway our food came out super hot, the Mahi and a shrimp bowl with lemon grass and the tilapia with almond crust. My wife's beer was slightly warm and after mentioning it in passing the manager brought her another (larger size) that was very cold. With that and all the subsequent attention...I kept wondering....have they mistaken us for someone important? Good experience.....we'll be back

I've been to Bahama Breeze three times now. The first time was fine and each successive time has made me question why I came back. Once, I went with a friend while she was in town and had the fresh salmon, grilled without butter, and fresh vegetables, grilled without butter. That meal was actually very good and I would recommend it. Everything I've had since then has been ordinary to disappointing. My husband and I tried the restaurant for dinner one night and our food was bland and ordinary. His ribs were just okay, with a fairly typical bottled-tasting barbecue sauce and an underwhelming side of limp fries. My coconut shrimp were boring, with barely a discernible coconut taste--only the dipping sauce on the side had flavor. Finally, we went for a happy hour with his work colleagues recently and I tried the lobster and shrimp quesadilla. As others have noted, it's mainly cheese and tortilla with a few sad pieces of shrimp and lobster and some spinach inside. It was soft, mealy, and disappointing; I picked out the fish and left most of my plate untouched. My husband's habanero wings ("Buffalo style in a spicy habanero pepper barbecue sauce") weren't terrible but weren't really spicy either. The highlight of my meal was actually the Ultimate Pina Colada I had, which was pretty good ("Bacardi Oakheart rum swirled with real strawberry and topped with Myers's Dark Rum"). There was a substantial float of rum on top, real strawberry pieces in it, and topped with coconut flakes. I'd get the drink again and skip the appetizers, honestly. Service was fine most times, not overwhelming. On our second visit, we sat nearly half an hour with no one coming by to take our order; on the verge of leaving, someone finally came by. Other than that, it's your average everyday Darden Restaurants concept: bland American food, ordinary service, ordinary experience.

So generic, so bad, so stupid. Why you people populate a place like this I will never understand. We have REAL Caribbean food in Orlando... We are one of the few places in the whole country that can say that... You're going to waste your time and money on some bunk-ass mainstream coconut shrimp you could get at T.G.I.Fridays when you can go to a real Jamaican place and get some authentic coco bread and oxtail? Y'all east side Waterford peeps must be out ya minds! I see the lines in front of here and just think to myself, "Jesus grab the wheel, the world is crazy." I have ate here twice, both times because of family, and can attest to its overall genericness. One extra star added because at least it's not Olive Garden.

I love the food selection here. I love that you can sit outside and the decor makes you feel like you are on a Caribbean island resort. Our visit was great. We told the waiter we only had an hour and half to eat and he really pumped up the service making sure we were ok and bringing our food at a great pace. The drinks are delicious too.

Even Before Arriving to Central Florida Almost 5 Years Ago Now From New Jersey This Restaurant Was A Favorite For Many Reasons Starting With Their Gotta Have Caribbean Jerk Chicken Wings (always get 8 for leftovers), Seafood Paella, Key Lime Pie & Colorful + Tasty Signature Drink the Bahama Rita! All These Years Later Still Trying to Figure Out What's in the Little Shot Glass Connected to Each One :) Ehh Mon Don't Worry Be Happy!

I had the fish tacos and they were good but I mainly care to discuss the leftovers. The leftovers are what really matter. You take that with you home, waiting, wondering, hoping and sometimes it can be delightful quick snack surprise or a greasy dirty streaky mess. This is a case of the latter. As I sat down to enjoy what I thought would be one of the finer moments of fine dining, it just hit me. My jaw dropped, my knees buckled, had I not already been sitting I would have fainted and hit my head for certain. These leftovers were nothing like I expected, they didn't even smell like fish.....or look like it. What I saw a greenish-brown mess, aged eons, but in reality was only 4 hours. After I was done, it was just a greasy mess everywhere and took 5 napkins to clean up the once shiny surface I put the leftovers on. My wife complained about the smell and my dog barked at the leftovers for over an hour so I had to use a whole bottle of febreeze to mask the smell. 4 stars because of the 4 leftover pieces afterwards.

Came here and I just have to say: nice ambiance, sub par food. I had the coconut shrimp taco which sounds good in theory but is overwhelmed by the 3?4? sauces they choose to drench it in. A nice spicy orange one. A terrible candy pineapple and a vinegar sugar something soak they put in the cabbage. Save your money and visit one of the other dining options in the area. The restaurant serves up an ambitious menu but fails to deliver. Tasted my company's plates as well and 1) that did not look like any churrasco I have ever seen 2) ahi tuna poke in a soapy coconut??? Really???? Drink up diners because you'll need that liquid courage to get through your meal.

I have been here multiple times, on past visits the food was good, service was great but something has always been a little off. They lost my debit card, after giving me the run around for three days telling me they had it, causing me to give this place 3 stars. There is a server there who is loud and obnoxious. I'm sure the other servers know who she is, she probably gets complaints all the time. Long story short, don't have huge expectations for this place.

This rating is primarily based on the fact that I organized a work event here for 50+ people and I was extremely impressed with the level of professionalism the staff showed. Two weeks before the event I asked if I could reserve a section of the patio for our event and they were happy to assist me, informing me of various options as well as suggesting how to set-up the invitations which they didn't need to do but they did and it worked really well. The day of the event, the staff again was extremely helpful, and I still can't believe how everything had been timed so perfectly that all of us got our food on time, hot and delicious. I thought for sure that there would be a handful of people waiting to get their food , or that orders would get mixed up, but none of that happened. There were people always coming by to make sure that everyone was well taken care of. I had the chicken and fruit spring salad; very tasty. A co-worker let me try his chicken with cilantro crema. It came with a side of cheesy mashed potatoes and it was REALLY good. Their black bean soup is probably the best I've ever had which I honestly wasn't expecting. If you're ever planning an event, I highly recommend you give this place a try. I think its also important to mention that they offer $2, 14 oz or $3, 20 oz drafts (including but not limited to blue moon and other fine beers) During happy hour which is a steal.

On a UCF graduation day, our party of nine called ahead to put our name down since they didn't take reservations. We arrived a half-hour later and were told the wait would be another 35-40 minutes. That's fine. Busy day. Large party. After 30 minutes we were told we'd be seated after one of three tables opened. We waited another 50 minutes before we were seated, twice the estimate we were told when we arrived. That is not OK.

Never had I felt so unwanted. I've been here several times, during lunch and dinner, the service has always been fine. The last time was a different story. I came with my coworkers for my birthday lunch and the server rushed us out like they needed our table for other guests when there was plenty of empty tables, with no one waiting. We had all but 3 bites of our food then she came by to ask if we wanted desserts. Uhh, we just started our meal, how would we know if we want dessert or not. So, we said no. Then 5 minutes later, she brought out everybody's check. We weren't even 1/2 way through our meal before she came back and took everybody's payment. One of my coworker didn't give his payment to her right away, and she asked three times if he was ready. Come on! He's still eating. Let the man enjoy and finish his meal before asking for payment. Once she dropped off our receipts, she never came back again, even though the majority of us were still eating. Even though my meal was tasty, it wasn't very enjoyable. It was rather disappointing and annoying birthday lunch. Fail!

Excellent staff, great atmosphere, lots of seating, large variety of food items at very reasonable prices! If you are looking for a place for a good meal, a date night, or just to get away for a bit Bahama Breeze is definitely worth a visit!

The food was great. The service was impeccable. The house beer is actually pretty awesome. My girlfriend and I were seated right away on a Saturday night around 8:30. We missed happy hour but the prices were still very reasonable. I had the guacamole and goat cheese burger with chicken instead of beef and it was simply perfect.

I'm a big fan of Bahama Breeze. Yes, it's a chain and the meals aren't all the most authentic, but we've always had great service and good-to-great food for an acceptable price. Being such a new location, we expected it to be really busy for lunch on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, but it was almost empty when we arrived. While we dined, more and more people started showing up - and by the time we were done, it was about half full. True to our experiences at other locations, our waitress Holly was a pleasure - friendly, attentive, and helpful. She made us feel like friends without getting too intrusive. The lunch menu is different than the dinner menu. I noticed a number of items I usually pick from at dinner were absent from the lunch menu. I assume that the portions are a bit smaller as they were all a little bit cheaper as well. Of course, we had to start with their onion rings while we decided. Their onion rings are some of the better ones around. Nicely sized, the right amount of crunch and not too heavy. We ordered fish tacos and the Cuban for lunch. My wife loved the tacos. At least I think she did. I looked down to take a bite of my Cuban and when I looked back up, the tacos were gone. They weren't exactly tiny either. I've had better Cubans, but this is a good one - and very nicely priced for the size of it. Dinner experiences here can get a little bit costly, which is why I can't go with five stars. Take advantage of the lunch prices/portions if you can, but let yourself splurge on the dinner once in a while.

Their fresh lemonade is very yummy! I had the raspberry and it refilled itself about 4 times, I could not finish it. I also had the seafood yeaula (spelling?) which was yellow rice mixed with mussels, shrimp, baby scallops, white fish, chicken and sausage. Every meat in the dish was super flavorful - but my hubby and I could have easily shared this dish! Next time we will definitely share a portion. Our waitress was great, the service was great, and the wait time was minimal. The atmosphere was really nice too, they had live music outside and it's first come first serve out there. We would have sat out there but it's smoking allowed and since I'm preggo I can't stand the smell, it's a lot stronger than usual and my hubby gets allergies from smoke anyway. I'm excited to go back and try some other dishes like the fish tacos!

I'm not really a fan of bahama breeze, but I gave this one a shot for just opening up at waterford. It was on a friday during lunch time. If you work around the area, I wouldn't suggest coming here for lunch. There timing to bring out food is ridiculously slow or it could be service, not sure which. I've tried their creole baked goat cheese and the buttermilk chicken sliders. I already, am not a fan for goat cheese so I can't really give a good impression on that, but their chicken sliders were decent. It can come with either a house or caesar salad. I definitely think they still need to work on service.

This is a nice Bahama Breeze. The server Carlos was exceptional and really knew the menu. Everything was cooked well. My wife had the Paella and I had the Barbados Chicken. There was a little wait even though there were plenty of open tables at 9:30 PM but it wasn't bad. Just grabbed a couple of drinks from the bar and relaxed until they called us. We will be back.

This time the lunch location was changed to Waterford Lakes ... I know, wild and crazy lunch dates with my parents!! This is a newer location than Altamonte and the restaurant overall is nicer looking I believe. Taller ceilings, newer furniture and decorations. I did try the empanadillas for an appetizer and I gotta say, wasn't too thrilled about that. The filling isn't what I expected. I must say I have been spoiled eating plenty of empanadillas from authentic latin locations and even latin countries ... but I guess that teaches me to try a particular kind of food at a particular type of location. But don't get me wrong, they were good, but not the best. Would I order them again ... if nothing else catches my eye, maybe. And the salmon here, my "go-to" healthy lunch ... pretty standard dish that they don't seem to mess up.

First time at this location and it was a great experience. We had family in town, including three children. We were seated at a roomy table immediately and the kids were occupied with color sheets right away. We ordered a goat cheese appetizer and were surprised that there weren't many pita chips, but our waiter made sure to keep our plate full until dinner arrived. I had a burger with avocado and goat cheese... Y'all. It was so stinkin good!! The service was fantastic and the prices are reasonable for such large portions of fantastic food.

Went to Bahama Breeze last night with my wife. She had a Salmon Dinner Salad that looked simply amazing, she said she cannot wait to go back to get it again. I had a Chicken Curry Rice bowl, it was quite tasty. Just enough heat. Beverages were good as always, and the service is attentive but not overbearing. The thing that I can't stand is booths. Now I'm a big guy and booths were the only thing available, silly me for saying yes to a booth. But why booths??? I would figure a restaurant would want to be able to reconfigure their dining room to suit their needs on a nightly basis. Am I missing something here? Will definitely go back, at a table of course!!!

You cannot beat their happy hour prices...its the best hands down. but they will not even pour you a HH beer before the time starts so don't go early thinking they will pour early and charge late....it won't happen. I do wish they had a few more options on the healthier side but over all its good food. the live band (well steel drum guy) is a nice touch as well.

Came here for happy hour after work with about 12 of my co-workers last week. The prices for happy hour cannot be beat! I believe it was half off appetizers and drinks were no more than $4 (that includes some specialty drinks like martinis). I loved every single appetizer my table got; it was hot and delicious. I have to give many kudos to our waitress for being very attentive to our table throughout our stay. She was patient, helpful, and nice. The restaurant said we didn't need a reservation for our large party, which we were skeptical at first, but they accommodated us just fine without hassle. I'll definitely come back here for happy hour!

The Breeze and Red Lobster are probably my two favorite Darden restaurants of the bunch. I'm glad we finally have a BB on this side of town. I have been to this location several times and am always satisfied with my experience. The service is usually pretty decent and the food is very well done. I always order either the Cuban sandwich or the Portobello and Manchego Cheeseburger. I LOVE the latter and it is hands down my favorite on the menu. This burger is awesome! The manchego cheese just really works on this burger, along with the large portobello mushroom. It's tasty, it's messy, it's gooooood! At the end of the day...it's Darden. You know you're walking into a clean (usually), well-ran (usually) establishment. I've also always been a big fan of the decor in all of the BB's...very islandy. It makes you just want to relax and eat some good food.

A proper Dark & Stormy had me at hello! Spending the night in Orlando on business, I spied a new property along Alafaya Trail: Bahama Breeze. Yes, it's a chain, one that failed in Denver. (imagine that!) I stopped by saw it was pretty busy for a Monday night, and sat at the bar. I got to watch the Stanley Cup final game seven, and saw how they make sugar cane juice from stalks. Service was A-OK, and food was served promptly. I really enjoyed the Jerk Chicken Pasta, and the Coconut Shrimp. All in all, a good stop for a drop-in.

The meal came out quick, looking as advertised. As for the taste, well it was just alright. I had some small plates. One was a street pork taco. Taste was bland. The second was a ahi tuna stack. The ahi tuna was low quality, mushy and had very little taste. It was covered in a pineapple salsa which was good, but not enough to make up for the quality of the tuna. I also had a cup of seafood chowder. That was very good. Will I come back for more? Every restaurant deserves a second look so yes, but it will have to be better the next time or I'm done with them.

I had the Mahi and shrimp rice bowl with lemongrass sauce. I thought it was one of the best dishes I've ever had at Bahamas Breeze. Great veggies and the amount of seafood was plentiful. My only complaint was I wish it was larger. Totally recommend this dish!

The atmosphere is nice and the drinks are on point...but the food is average I normally do not add salt to my food in restaurants but the food here was bland including the "tostones with chicken" our server Ivette had us cracking up!

Gotta love a Darden restaurant. The jerk chicken pasta here is amazing. I don't think I've ever gotten anything but that. We came to this new location around lunchtime on Mother's Day. (We didn't really think that through). We asked how long the wait would be, 55 minutes. Since there was only two of us, we thought it might go a bit faster. It only took 20 minutes. Awesome! We also got the ham and cheese coquettes as an app. They were good. We really liked our waitress, I'm bummed I don't remember her name. But she was good.

Went here a few days ago for my 21st birthday & couldn't be any happier! I got the bahamarita & it was amazing! My mom was disappointed with her "red sangria" as there was no fruit & it tasted like stale wine. The food made up for it though. We had coconut shrimp & the lobster & shrimp quesadillas. So fresh & so good. I had the seafood paella which was soooo good & my mom got the baby back ribs were she said were the best she's had in the south so far. Our waiter was so nice & always on time with everything. All in all a wonderful experience!!!

Whatever happened to the quality at Bahama Breeze? We decided to try Bahama Breeze at Waterford Lakes. Every time we stop by there is a huge wait (in excess of an hour)so we don't bother but Friday night the wife wanted to try again. We got there fairly early, around 7pm, to try and beat the crowd. Upon arrival we were told there was still a 35 minute wait so we decided to hang out on the Patio until a table was available. The Patio was packed but we found a couple of bar stools and sat. We pulled a waitress aside and ordered a couple of drinks. The wife ordered a Bahama Mama which tasted watery and a bit blah! We also ordered the beef empanadas which were good. The live music was so so. After a 40 minute wait we were seated on the inside and were shocked to find a whole area of the restaurant empty! Why the wait if there were empty tables. An observation- several empty tables in other parts of the restaurant were dity and still waiting to be cleaned. A family was seated at a table next to us and the Manager actually cleaned the table AFTER they were seated, really? We ordered the Veggie cuban style sandwich and the Buttermilk fried chicken. The fried chicken dish arrived with cold mashed potatoes and vegetables, which were promptly returned to the Kitchen, the second one was hot. Both dishes tasted so so but you could tell quality was missing. Overall there are much better places to eat in Waterford/UCF area with much less wait times and better quality. For the prices Bahama Breeze charges it was a poor experience. Time to move on from this Restaurant!

The happy hour drinks and appetizer deal is a great price. Delicious apps for a chain restaurant. We've probably tried 90% of the items on the happy hour menu. My faves are the coconut shrimp, lobster and shrimp quesadilla and the wings. The seafood chowder is a must for everyone! It's delicious! As far as the main courses they need to bring back the need kabobs and yellow rice and nix some of the new rice bowls - the Asian one is not too great it's far from Asian.

We like Bahama Breeze, not because the food is so stellar and amazing, but because its a great place to sit outside and listen to some island music, with an island style meal and drink, it helps me relax and think I'm on vacation. The only stress is that its busy... and sometimes hard to get a table. Get the goat cheese here... its yummy.

  • Ricky W.

The menu here is VERY limited. The appetizer I had was kinda blah. The fried plantains were way too salty too. Oh and I definitely recommend you avoid this place on he weekends and around happy hour. Too busy with rude people.

On a business trip by myself, I was first wooed by its closeness to my hotel and its FREE WIFI! The Yelp reviews were spot-on, except I did NOT experience the poor service some claimed-mine was excellent. The white sangria was very good, but I was a little surprised it came sans fruit. I had Mahi with the orange citrus, and it has a little kick to it. The mashed sweet potatoes are awesome and I highly recommend. Even the green beans were crisp. All in all, the food was quite good. I would definitely eat here if I wasn't just in town for a day or two. If you're a business traveler like me, Distance-wise It's about 2 miles from the Homewood Suites, about a mile from Hilton Garden Inn and Comfort Suites, and a little closer for Radisson. Although there's a sidewalk, it is not well lit and unless you're doing it during the day, take the car and only drink one sangria :)

Tried BB again last night. Food was still delicious. I had paella, maybe the best I've had. But they still lose points on service. My fork had a big slab of onion skin dried on it. Yuck. But then... For dessert, I ordered an Irish Coffee. Normally, always actually, it is served in a clear glass tallish cup, with a spoon of sugar, and topped with a nice serving of whipped cream. What I received was a regular cup of coffee with a shot of Irish whiskey in it, and two of those little plastic containers of half and half. About that time the Manager stopped by to check on us, and I showed him my "Irish Coffee." He said that it was a mistake, that it comes in a special cup. Waitress returned it to the bar and came back with the same mug, with whipped cream on top, The coffee was now lukewarm. Lazy, ignorant bartender.

Food was pretty good, as well as service. I had the crab/shrimp tower, Jamaican chicken wings, fish tacos, conch fritters, shrimp+ lobster quesadilla. The chunk of fish on the tacos put a smile on my face, even though i dont like flour tortillas that much, they couldn't substitute with corn tortillas. Everything else was ok.

Service needs work. Big disconnect from the host to the server. Host told us we could sit outside on the deck...there was no seats for four. We came back to the host for a table. Host seats us and informs us Madison will be our server. 15minutes later no Madison!. The she cam and said Brian is our server. Well, no one told Brian who was working the table right next to ours. My point is if you see a family that is seated with no water, no menu, no utensils don't turn a blind eye because its not your table. The manager walked by and did exactly that! Strike 2 on the service. The food was pretty good.. Kids had mac n cheese which was not out of a box. I had the baby back ribs which was really good. 'd be willing to give this place another shot.

The concept is awesome but the food lacks any originality. They lost there way and by far any islander would turn down at the food here. To commercialized for my palate! Also the new concept of no outside patio bar is crazy!! This place could be twice as packed if they had the outside bar. Huge mistake!!

We'd given them some time to work out the kinks. And, if you've seen the previous post, you'll know I'm familiar with the new restaurant start-up trials and tribulations. Briefly, things usually go one of two ways. Very good and the staff hangs tough. Or very bad and the staff gets gone. There is, however, a third alternative; it goes so well, the staff CANT handle it and the replacements are incompetent. Unfortunately, the third alternative occurred here. For take out, we ordered a rare burger with fries and a medium-rare steak. When I picked it up I looked straight at the server and asked, "It's all correct, yes?" And she looked straight at me and said, "yes, sir. Would you like to take a look?" Taking a look is NOT the customers job. That's what the SERVERS get paid to do. That's why the SERVERS are off the streets and hopefully paying for school books. However, SERVING, is not in many of their dictionary's. They forget that they actually have a JOB with RESPONSIBILITY and part of the JOB is to be RESPONSIBLE for the customers experience. So NO I didn't do her job for her. The end result? NO french fries with the cheese burger and the cheese burger was medium-rare while my steak was rare. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. There are plenty of people out there who would gladly put on a uniform and do a relatively simple job. This server is not one of them. And, unfortunately, a GOOD restaurant understands the importance of proper training. So, my final advice: if you do go to this restaurant and order take-out ... stand there and take the time to check EVERYTHING before signing anything. But make the server do it, or else they wont learn anything (that's the way to train low-cognitive skills). If you eat-in ... well, good luck, but don't be afraid to send everything back if it's not up to your standards. Unfortunately, low standards is what places like this depend on.

While the food was good the service was poor. Our waitress kept disappearing and didn't check on us much. Kept promising drink refills but would forget or bring them 20 min later. This was sweet tea, not bar drinks.

Ohhhh yum! I have not gone in to eat at this location as it always seems to be super busy but I have ordered take out several times. I get the carne rice bowl and tostones and my hubs and I share the dulce de leche cheese cake. The prices are reasonable and our food has always been ready on time. The coconut shrimp is also pretty tasty. If you want to skip the lines just get it to go and you will really enjoy the great flavors of this great place.

Totally loved this place!!! Ate outside where I enjoyed live music and big screen TVs where I was able to request Sunday night football. My server was Catherine and everything she recommended was outstanding! If you are looking for a relaxing evening featuring good food and great atmosphere consider Bahama Breeze.

We were so excited when we saw a Bahama Breeze open close by our house. When we finally got there, we were so disappointed; the menu was shortened, the best dishes were gone because the brick oven was gone. A few years ago, we used to go only for our favorite dessert, the chocolate tres leches, which they took off the menu. But we still gave them the opportunity and continued going. After that, they removed the rice and beans that accompanied the chicken and beef skewers, and substituted it for a hideous yellow rice; we still continued to go. But on our last visit, we noticed that they are simplifying their menu so much that the quality is just not there anymore. So goodbye Bahama Breeze, we are no longer your customers.

This location just opened on Monday, so I knew they would still have a few kinks to work out. However, my birthday dinner turned into a 3 hour ordeal. We had 3 servers for our group of 22, which seemed like more than enough. However, service was extremely slow. I ordered the filet since it was a special occasion, and asked for it medium. It was definitely well done, but I didn't want to send it back in fear of having to wait a long time to get a new one. The broccoli definitely wasn't cooked enough so I left it on the plate. After our meal, we had plans to go to a bar. Getting our bills and paying took about an hour alone. A few bills were incorrect and had to be fixed. By then, a lot of people were tired and went home instead of continuing on to the bar. The inside of the restaurant was nice, and I was impressed there was even mouthwash in the restrooms. Very class. As far as returning...maybe in awhile when they have things figured out, but definitely not with a big group!

Good food slow service. I ordered the shrimp creole bowl, it was just Ok. The server is averaging 15 minutes to bring a drink once ordered. I will of course come again but for tonight 3 stars.

  • ZANNE K.

Great service from Nicole and the manager even stopped by our table to check on us. I have to say I have tried the Bahama Breeze in Altamonte, but the service and food at the Waterford Lakes location should be the role model. Our server was fast, attentive and had a great sense of humor. She was very knowledgeable on the food. My fish tacos were very good. The only reason this place gets four stars is that Darden decided to make the dining room and patio half the size of Altamonte when Waterford Lakes population is exploding. We had an hour wait. Perhaps the build to suit staff should have done more research on the area.

...wait time has been 2 hrs and still no food....in 6 to 8 months...they will knock out the kinks, but for now, I do not recommend going there

Love their wings and their seafood chowder! Those fried shrimp in the soup make it so damn perfect! Their wings are marinated so well, you really don't need their Caribbean BBQ sauce, even though it tastes even better with it! Their drinks are delicious too! The ultimate pina colada and the bahamarita are faves. It feels like a brief vacation every time I dine here on the patio.

Good, but not great. Happy hour is cool because they offer good discounts on appetizers, although only at Waterford location. Coconut shrimps yummy, as is tostones, but many dishes feel like chain restaurant fare.

I'm not a real fan of Bahama breeze and came to this for a "working" happy hour. Stayed out mostly on the porch and had a great time with my staff. The couch they have out there makes you hot because its like plastic. Its a good thing they have fans... your gonna get hot for sure. The staff were nice and on a Friday we got decent service but it could have been better. I think we should have had better service for sure but oh well. Coconut shrimp are awesome!

    (3)
  • Tim C.

The service is consistently poor at this location. Kitchen is disorganized and makes frequent mistakes on food orders, most of the wait staff are fairly incompetent, and the management team shows little to no concern for customers' negative experiences in the restaurant. If you're set on dining at a Bahama Breeze, try Altamonte or I-drive locations instead. If you're set on dining in the Waterford Lakes area then try any number of the other restaurants in the area who even on their worst day are far superior to this Bahama Breeze on its best day.

Loved it! However if you have a mushroom allergy, most of the food was pre-mixed. I couldn't get what I really wanted due to this... However I loved the meal I ended up with.

My second experience at this location was way better than my first! The first time, we went for dinner on a Weds nite & were seated in the corner. This time, we went for late lunch on a Thursday & practically had the whole place to ourselves. The firecracker shrimp was stellar as was the edamame. But I was disappointed in the lobster & shrimp quesadillas. They really lacked flavor. Hubby enjoyed his burger and mom liked her veggie quesadillas. Our server was very accommodating too. In all, a good experience and I would want to return for a third visit.

The apps were really good, wide selection. Service was quick and friendly. Atmosphere was nice and laid back. Could've sufficed with the apps, but the salmon was also good. Some interesting dishes like Calypso Shrimp Linguini. Can't wait to go back. Might just stick with the apps next time.

The wait is usually long since this just opened recently. The atmosphere is "good" for a Darden restaurant. The food is usually pretty tasty, this time we had some issues. The Tostones with chicken and cheese app is outstanding. I loved it. All their apps usually work for me. My gf had the lobster and shrimp linguine, the sauce was ok, little kick to it, but it came with LOTS of shrimp and a good amount of lobster. I was pleasantly surprised! I had the fish(mahi mahi) tacos........TRAIN WRECK. The fish was just ok, spiced decent, i guess. But the combo of lettuce, avacodo and their terrible chipotleish mayo dip was bad. The tacos were so bad I took out the fish from my taco and ate it by itself bc at this point I was starving. Oh, forgot to mention my table of 5 all got their meals except me. So they did their best, made it on the fly, but I still started as they all finished. Server was sweet and cheerful, she said I should have told her about the tacos being....well, terrible, bc she said she would have gotten me something else. I said no thanks since the table ALREADY had to wait for me just to get my meal. One bad experience, but usually I've had better ones at Bahama Breeze, so I'm sure all be back everytime the in-laws come into town.

This Darden chain restaurant is better than most. We've tried it a couple of times now for lunch and it has not disappointed. We've created a secret Vegan option by ordering an Island salad (lots of yummy fruit on bed of crisp salad lettuce) delete the chicken and cheese while substituting sliced avocado on top! It's delicious and the staff has always been very accommodating with the menu manipulation. The property is very new so it is extra clean and the acoustics inside are excellent. Great for large parties, and business meetings but also Lot's of booths for couples too! Give us a couple more vegan/vegetarian options on the menu and we'll get you a 5th star B. Breeze.

They just opened so i'll give em' a break for effort on trying to run a smooth operation when the restaurant is packed to capacity. The food was really good like all Bahama Breezes but it took a while for the food to come out. The turnover time was pretty long for everything. The good thing though was the service, we had a party of 18 and the servers were very friendly and entertaining. I don't like that they couldn't accommodate to huge groups due to the layout of the restaurant because our group was split into two when I would have liked for us all to sit together. Throughout our dinner we probably had 3 different managers stop by the table to see if everything was okay and if there was something they could get us right away because they knew the food was going to be awhile which I appreciated. The drinks were absolutely delicious so I didn't mind so much for the wait. I tried about 6 different drinks and my favorite would have to be the ultimate pina colada. I also really enjoyed the white bean hummus which was made fresh with a side of veggies and freshly bake pita. If you plan on coming here for dinner, make sure you have lots of buffer time because you never know how long your entire dinner will take sicne it does get extremely busy here no matter the time of the day.

Had lunch here recently. Had to sit at the bar because the wait time was ridiculous. Missed the outdoor seating that these places usually have. The bar staff friendly enough, though, and they were reasonably efficient with refilling waters and drinks and such. I was a little surprised that the food came out through the dining room and was served from behind us by waitresses who had no idea who ordered what. That seemed weird. The goat cheese and flatbread appetizer was tasty and the fish tacos and pork sliders on the lunch menu were also good. I really enjoyed the house salad, though that may be the vitamin deficiency speaking. My main complaint about this place is that the portion sizes of everything seemed very small and the prices seemed a bit high on both drinks and food.

Service was slow to non-existent. Went for a special occasion with a group and would not go back. Manager tried to make up for terrible wait staff. Ordered a shrimp rice dish, whatever. A tropical restaurant down the street could have done better. Don't see the attraction with this chain, table overlooking a parking lot?

I'm a huge fan of Bahama Breeze BUT this particular location isn't so great! The food isn't anywhere as good as I-drive or Altamonte, don't know why. The service is kinda crappy too... not so good Darden.

Dear Bahama Breeze restaurant at Waterford Lakes in Orlando, For the love of all that is decent, please stop abusing the cilantro. It was not intended to be included in every dish. In fact, it is a new fad and a crutch for chefs who don't really know how to season food. Some of us have allergies and some of us think it tastes like dirty socks. If you can't quit using the filthy weed, please accommodate customers by an individual preparation without it. Was told today they couldn't prepare a shrimp cocktail without cilantro.....please whoever heard of that. Also, after specifically requesting my salad without cilantro, quess what what the main ingredient in my dressing.

Came her for dinner on a Tuesday night. It was fairly busy so we decided to sit outside. It is first come first serve seating outside so beware of that. We immediately found a table and sat down. The table was still a little dirty but the waitress came right over cleaned it up took our drink orders and gave us silverware. I ordered a Mojito which was very good. For dinner I got the seafood paella, which was packed with mussels, shrimp, fish, and scallops! After dinner I had a Martini and it was great too. The service was prompt, the setting was great, and so was the food. I would deffinently come back again.

We have been to this location at least 8 times. We love the food, the service and the prices. We often take out of town family here as everyone can find something to enjoy. Can't wait to go again

coconut shrimp and Jamaican chicken - the must have appetizers. Love their lobster mac&cheese! The waitress always made some sketches on your to-go box, kinda making the experience personal.

  • Antonio M.

The concept is awesome but the food lacks any originality. They lost there way and by far any islander would turn down at the food here. To commercialized for my palate! Also the new concept of no outside patio bar is crazy!! This place could be twice as packed if they had the outside bar. Huge mistake!!

    (3)
  • Ari W.

Hand down, I think they have one of the better happy hour prices and selection of food around. Not every bahama breeze is participating.

Breeze.

  • Bettina T.

The decor is nice. It was packed on a Saturday night but the staff was friendly. The drinks were good and the food was average. The one in international drive still better to me.
