This is my favorite restaurant in College Park. I've been there several times, and I especially love the pasta dishes, which are the perfect portion. Accompany it with a nice glass of wine and finish off with the lemon sorbet or cannoli, and that makes a practically-perfect meal! The only reason I didn't give it five-stars, is the service is hit-and-miss. The food and atmosphere are always great, though. Perfect for friends meeting up, or a romantic evening out. I listed this as "Spendy," in terms of the price-range, only because if you order several courses and a bottle of wine, that's the prince-range you should expect.

I always have enjoy eating at Adriatico's, the food is always fresh, delicious and natural. If you like oversized portions this is not your place, this is more true italian without the over sauced, over seasoned food that is served at many other chain Italian places. They have a nice wine selection and have a great staff that is very attentive. When I return to the Orlando area, I always have Adriatico's on my list of places to return to.

This is one of our favorite places to eat in town. We have been about four times and have enjoyed ourselves each time. The food is always very tasty. The atmosphere is intimate and the owners are very friendly. We like to come here for special occasions. A couple of years back they were open on Christmas Eve. We didn't have reservations, but we were sat right away. They had a person playing Christmas music and they just really made our evening special. It can be pricey, but you can also find some dishes that are not too pricey. However, everything tastes amazing and fresh. I would recommend this place highly!

We have been going to Adriatico since they opened in 2007. It is just great! Try any item on the menu and I think you will agree. Chef Marco is in the kitchen and his wife, Rosetta, runs the front of house. She hugs the regulars when they come in. How can you go wrong? Great food, very welcoming!

Stopped in for lunch today (12.27.11) with friends visiting from London. Our first time but reviews were good and it was conveniently located to the Orlando Science Center. The food was good, the tiramisu is made on site and is excellent! A small homey, quaint place out of the way that is not a chain. Service was excellent and they did a good job putting up with 3 kinds under 2 years old. They only have one high chair and one booster seat for the small kids. Parking was good in the lot in the back. We will go back again.

We came here for lunch and sat on their spacious front patio. My insalata de mare was very good. The seafood was fresh, scallops, mussels, clams, shrimp, and squid (that last was very good, not rubbery. Except for the overly muscle-y tentacles.) the greens were fresh. Perfect light after Christmas meal. Bethany had linguine with clams, her favorite and was also happy. The espressos were good. We will certainly go again. I want to try their homemade gnocchi.

November 2011...haven't been back since! After reading such wonderful reviews, I chose this for my my birthday dinner. Atmosphere nice, food good although small portions and pricey. However, the clincher was the Owner's (Wife). We had mentioned it was my birthday and our very first time there. She was very loquacious (as is my Hubby) and even helped us in choosing a bottle of wine which we enjoyed. As we had our last sips of wine, she automatically brought over another bottle OPENED IT and then said directly to my Husband in a charming manner, "you'd like it right?" Being the Southern gentleman that he is; of course, he said yes. She was so friendly and nice to us that I thought she must have given us that bottle on the house; i.e. being it was my birthday and our first time there (not that I expected it). I just couldn't get over it when I saw it on our bill and still can't...the manipulation. That's one thing I can't stand, to be taken advantage of!!

Best Italian food in Orlando! Inside, outside and bar seating. The dishes are individually wonderful, pasta to seafood.

Everything was good. Entrees including the veil, pasta, and salmon were all good but nothing mouth watering. I thought the veil was lacking and too paper thin. Mussels were huge and plump and the best part of the meal. Service was good, friendly, and the place seems authentic, but sadly we will not be back. Just didn't beat out our usual Italian spot in college park, in fact we went there after for gelato.

I think this is my favorite Italian restaurant in all of Orlando! Our waiter, Peter was attentive and well versed in the restaurant's food and wine. The food is fresh and all made from scratch. The tomato sauce that comes with their mussels appetizer is to die for. We were all fighting to dip our bread in it. The carpaccio was fresh and flavorful and the capers were huge! I got the grouper piccata special. It was incredible and the potatoes were amazing!!! The dish was so lemony and more of those big capers... I just wanted more. My boyfriend had the lamb shank special and it was also really good. The owner checked up on us during dinner and as we walked out the chef thanked us from the kitchen. Love this place!

Best real Italian food (NOT Italian-American) in Orlando. I have eaten here six or seven times (once with a group of 16 people whose dishes all came out of the kitchen hot and at the same time) and have never had an unsatisfactory dish. Personal favorites include burrata (cream filled mozzarella, I have never seen it anywhere else), sauteed calamari (not fried like everybody else's), spaghetti with clams (sounds basic, but they make it absolutely delicious), seafood pappardelle, and the "zuppa di pesce". If the soup of the day happens to be lentil, order it; it will be the best lentil soup you've ever had. And you can't go wrong with the homemade panna cotta or tiramisu for dessert. One caveat: the daily specials, while always delicious, tend to be pricey, so stick to the regular menu for the best value.

Great food and great atmosphere. It's a small place so make a reservation. Price is on par with the quality and the service is amazing. My wife and I felt like welcome family guests. Being Italian myself I'm a rough critic and this place def passes with honors. We split an entree which was perfect w salad and an app since we like to eat a bit light. Big eaters get your own. Lol Go for a great meal. Ron & Cindy.

An unexpected find on Edgewater. The food was amazing and the lunch portions were just right. (because who really wants to go back to the office in a pasta induced coma?) We will be trying for dinner, and quite possibly found our new go to italian place. P.S our waiter Peter was awesome!

Some time ago, I was told by a friend that the food here is awesome and the price is reasonable. She was right! A few months ago, I went to Adriatico and had to wait for a friend for a while. The manager was nice, I started chatting with him for about half an hour. The owners (and Chef) are from Italy, which is not as common as most would think, which made for great conversation about cuisine. Then, we got to sit down in this tiny restaurant, very Manhattanish - but not on top of one another. The menu was quite simple but everything we tried was delicious. We tried their gnocchi della casa with cold cuts, fettucini alla genovese and my friend got the old faithful veal marsala. I didn't sample her food (it was thoroughly guarded) but the gnocchi is a must try. The bruschetta pomodoro was also a fabulous addition and I had my eye on the Caprese salad next to me, but just didnt have the appetite to totally gorge myself. I really enjoyed my entree because the pasta there is homemade and the sauce is rich and filling. $14 for the pasta is such a steal! We ended with a tiramisu to share which was just right. The whole dinner was about $80 with wine, with all things considered, a good price. I recommend it and will be back.

I can here a couple times for pasta. I had the pasta with clams and red sauce... I prefer white wine sauce but I don't recall seeing it on the menu (or I would have ordered it). The pasta was good, sauce was good. The service was good too. It is little on the pricey side but I feel that it is justified for the quality of service and atmosphere. It's a good little spot for a date for sure. I would come here more often if I was a little cheaper. The menu and prices are on their website.

Thank you College Park. This Restaurant is absolutely amazing. The decor, the service and the outstanding food. Try the Gnocchi, its homemade and heavenly. All the Italian Restaurants in Orlando could learn a thing or two. We will definitely be back!

Went there for dinner. Such a great place, authentic Italian. I ordered their Salmone alla Cremonese...the brandy mustard sauce is just to die for!!! I was so happy with my choice and so full already but...I had to try their TIRAMISU...and it was perfect to complete my meal. If I go back to Orlando, I will definetely visit this REAL Italian Trattoria again!

We were in town for two nights for a surgery appointment at Orlando Regional Health Center. I was nervous about my impending surgery and my Hubby wanted italian food and I agreed. We started at Trevi but after looking inside, it wasn't the kind of traditional place we had in mind. More for a casual lunch. Down the street and on the other side was Adriatico. We were warmly welcomed and with the brick walls and banquettes, it fit the homey bill just fine. The Owners are from the coast...hence the name. This led me to believe that the cuisine would have expertly prepared plates of pesce. I had the special grouper that was in wonderful and traditional butter/lemon/caper sauce and my Hubby had linguine with little clams. We had a calamari dish that was not breaded as well. I loved mine and my Hubby though his could have been more robust although the seafood was very fresh. Thet make brick oven pizzas but we did not partake at this visit. We were poured generous glasses of sangiovese. Nice dinner, nicer service, family members slinging plates in the kitchen.

Delicious dinner from start to finish in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. We were in Downtown Orlando for business. When we are back in the area, a visit to Adriatico will be something to look forward to. You won't be disappointed.

Simply, come for the food! The atmosphere and service is satisfactory, especially for a moderately priced restaurant. I mention this specifically because if either were horrible, I'd still give it 4 stars for the spectacularly authentic Italian cuisine! This is a College Park gem!

Lovely little Italian restaurant where everything is made fresh on the premises. The burrata was delicious. And the pizza was well worth a bit of a wait. Service was good, but not over-attentive. The place is small, so probably a good idea to make a reservation.

I found this little place on Google tonight. We were in the mood for Italian food after spending almost one week at the Disney World trap. Ordered 3 appetizers. Shrimp- this was very good and came with a cream sauce and it was cooked perfectly. Also ordered a calamari in red sauce and it was not chewy and came with a hint of garlic. Nice touch. Lastly the cold antipasto with meats and cheese was excellent. My wife and I had seafood pasta and it was cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. My daughter had a chicken special with risotto and it was out of this world. Everything was cooked to perfection and we will definitely return again when we come back to the orlando area.

Wow, what a fantastic true Italian Trattoria! My wife and I moved to Lake Mary from Tampa in March, 2015 and have been searching for a quality Italian restaurant....looks like we found one! I made my reservation online with OpenTable for 8:45pm, we actually walked in exactly at that time and was greeted BY NAME by our server, that was cool. We sat outside and people watched and enjoyed the nice night air. We ordered a bottle of wine and our entrees. My wife had the garden salad, which was fresh and large in size and for her main course had the Gnocchi with Tomato sauce. Now, my wife has a VERY picky palate and she rarely if ever used the word "Excellent" to describe her dish, so, when I asked her..."How is it?" and she replied, VERY GOOD, EXCELLENT, I knew she loved it! I had the lentil soup before my main course and it was very fresh, super hot and absolutely delicious also served in a very large and satisfying bowl. For my entree I ordered the Spaghetti alle vongole, in a spicy tomato sauce. This is usually my go to dish at Italian restaurants and typically I prefer the white wine sauce, however, the menu had a nice description with cherry tomatoes in a spicy sauce, that enticed me, so, I decided to take a risk....glad I did because it was fantastic. The pasta cooked perfectly a bit al dente just that way it should be and the sauce was divine, just the right amount to coat the pasta and have some left over for the bread swipe at the end ;-) For dessert, I ordered a double espresso and their HOMEMADE Tiramisu, it was OMG good, yes, that amazing, light, moist, fresh, just outstanding! My wife ordered the Ricotta cheesecake and again described her plate as EXCELLENT could it be 2 excellent's in one meal!!! Our server was friendly, attentive and professional. One of the owners came out side to check on us with her sweet smile and asked for feedback. She was pleased to hear our rave reviews as we shared our Italian heritage hers from Sicily and mine from Napoli. Hope you all get a chance to visit and try this gem, they are the real deal!!!

Warm and inviting, Adriatico is the kind of place I wish we had in my neighborhood. Solid food, punctuated by fresh and high quality ingredients presented simply but elegantly, bring high quality and casual comfort in a small and embracing atmosphere. Rosetta, the Sicilian- born proprietor, keeps an eye in her little kingdom, and couldn't be more welcoming. Service was impecable. On a Friday or weekend a reservation is advised. Don't forget to try the homemade Tiramisu; it'll cap off a great meal in a great place.

This is an amazing place to go if your in a mood for authentic Italian food. I had one of the specials which was the chicken and wild mushroom risotto and it was finger licking good. It was the best risotto that I have ever had and our waiter Peter was absolutely fantastic to us. Always checking if we need anything else. He was such a gentleman. This is a very good Italian restaurant and has very good service. I would with out a doubt come back

Most delicious gnocchi I've tasted. They make the pasta to order and sauce fresh. You can choose between three different sauces. I had the Gorgonzola sauce with the gnocchi as well as a glass of Italian Pinot Grigio. It's a quaint little restaurant, reasonably priced and delicious food! Have to try it!

If you're looking for authentic Italian using the freshest ingredients this is the place for you. Every time a new dish was brought out I was floored by how fresh it tasted. The bruschetta was DELICIOUS. The tomatoes were excellent. Our entrees were equally awesome. They came hot so you know the chef didn't have it sitting out all day. Our server was kind of weird though. He was a tall, bulky guy. Very awkward with absolutely no personality. It was as if a robot was serving us. I kept having to ask for refills of my water which I found irritating considering at the time there were only four other tables in the establishment. Besides that everything was great and we will be back again.

My wife and I were in Winter Park from Connecticut looking for some authentic Italian food. We found this place on yelp and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent and the food would make my (Italian) Nana Rose proud! We highly recommend this place.

My boss and I came here while we were at a training in Orlando. He's Italian so he was looking for authentic Italian food. We yelped this place and the reviews were good so we decided to give it a try. It's a cute little restaurant, seating is a little close so be sure to like the person you're going with. Our waiter was super sweet and was very helpful, my boss had the fish of the day which I think was grouper and I had the salmon. He also had the artichokes as an appetizer. The salmon has this amazing Alfredo type of sauce on it! It was delicious!!!!! It came with roasted potatoes and asparagus. So good! My boss are his food in 2 minutes flat. The whole plate!!! The owner came out to talk to us; she's from Italy and is too precious! Her husband is in the back cooking. Parking is street parking and easy. Definitely go here if you're in the area!

My girlfriend and I wanted to eat at the Adriatico Trattoria Italiana after reading the reviews here and we were not disappointed! It was a bit pricey, but we used coupons from Restaurant.com which made the tab palatable. We started with Bruschetta. The ingredients were fresh and the flavor popped in my mouth. I wasn't a big Bruschetta fan before, but I am now. For our entrees, I had the Pollo al Limone (chicken picatta?) and my girlfriend had the Ravioli di Aragosta (Maine lobster ravioli in vodka sauce). My entree came with mixed veggies and roasted potatoes. My entree was mouthgasmic! The lemon-butter sauce was flavorful without being too rich, the veggies were fresh, and the potatoes were oven-hot. My girlfriend raved that her entree had real lobster and the sauce was amazing. Our server was prompt and friendly, the food was fresh and well-prepared... we're *DEFINITELY* going back!

This restaurant was definitely average. We had to send a penne pasta back to replace it with Shrimp Fra Diablo pasta dish which only contained 3 shrimps for $20. The penne pasta tasted like a lean cuisine. I had a roasted vegetable ravioli with a mushroom cream sauce and that was delicious. However, quite small. We also ordered the Caprese salad and that was average. This was definitely not our first choice for good Italian in Orlando...

My husband and our best friends decided to explore new local dining experiences, out of our comfort zone. After searching, we decided to try Adriatico Trattoria. Experience started lovely. Quaint place, family owned, bistro style ambiance. Appetizers were very yummy. Then everthing went south from there. Waited over an hour for our entrees. Several tables that sat after our arrival had eaten, paid and left before we ever saw our dinners. The owners are the chef and hostess. She, the hostess, ignored us until we finally asked our server to make our frustrations known. She came over only to say, "sorry but the chef does things his way, but our food is really good and worth the wait." When the food finally came out, two entrees were so salty they couldn't be eaten. One pasta dish that was described as to have "strips of chicken" had one small piece in the sauce. When we brought that to owner's attention we were simply told the sauce was premade. Server brought check & told us owner comped all entrees, which was the least that should have been done. Our server was very nice, but we knew his hands were tied when the chef is the owner. Hostess was uber friendly and social to everyone in the place but would not even look at our table until we demanded of our server to speak to her. Whole situation handled poorly. We will never be back. We will also tell our friends there are better italian restaurants for the money and quality than here. Live and learn.

Good food but pricey. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The antipasto misto appetizer is great to share. I had the mussels and clams appetizer served in a red sauce and that was tasty as well. We finished with the homemade tiramisu. It is family-owned which is nice. Our waiter was not very good and, we did go there are the end of the night. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Great food, great service. The wait staff was excellent, professional without coming off stuffy, and enthusiastic about the food (which was pretty amazing). We went late in the evening, and you could tell they were tired from a long day at work, but still upbeat and extremely pleasant. A bit pricey, but sharing portions was plenty for us and there was no extra plate fee, which made it perfectly affordable. Props to the chef, everything was delicious and presented lovely.

I've probably been to Adriatico a half dozen times since it opened a few years ago. So this one is long overdue. Thinking about this restaurant brings two things to my mind: fantastic food and great wine. Sitting down we were immediately presented with three apps: Bruschetta al Pomodoro, Calamari alla Napoletana and Mozzarella Caprese. Sounds like your standard fare of Italian apps, right? But the first bite will make you realize why Adriatico stands above the rest. It's all about the seasoning. Anyone can make bruschetta: bread, olive oil, tomatoes, garlic and basil. Same goes with Caprese. But what I find in restaurants is that most are afraid to season. In my mind, salt and pepper do not belong on a table because, well, guests should not have to use them to season food. Most people do not realize that salt should not be utilized to make food more salty, but to enhance and accentuate the flavors already present in the food. It's the same with acidity in wine: too much can be overwhelming, but not enough will lead to a flat and one dimensional wine. Point being, the apps popped with flavor and were delicious. And it's probably worth the trip just to try the Neapolitan sauce that is served with the Calamari. I ordered the Filet with Artichokes and Barolo reduction for my entree. (See above.) And you know what? They also cook a great steak! Perfectly medium rare in another flavorful sauce, I literally ate everything on my plate. My only negative comment is the inconsistent knife cuts that made the carrots look odd and the potatoes either over or undercooked. We also enjoyed our favorite wine offered at Adriatico-the Zenato Ripassa. Quick wine lesson: Ripassa is from the Valpolicella region in Italy (near Verona). Translated as "re-passing", the wine is passed over the lees (solids) of a wine called Amarone. It leads to a very rich wine with stewed dark fruit flavors that really compliment full bodied Italian entrees. So next time you're near College Park, I'd recommend that you drop by and have dinner. The restaurant itself is comfortable, non-pretentious and always dependable.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
