Driving back from the East Coast of Florida to the Gulf Coast, we weren't expecting much passing through the small town of Okeechobee. Pulled up Yelp and this was one of the suggestions with good reviews. My whole family was impressed, and they can sometimes be hard to please. Two of us had the Mixed Fish Combo, one Mahi Sandwich, one children's Popcorn Shrimp, and an order of sweet potato fries. Everything was very delicious and the portions were a fair amount. In particular, the grilled salmon was done very well. It's easy to mess up salmon on the grill, but that was not the case with both our orders. The sweet potato fries were almost like a dessert as they were sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. It's worth getting an order for the table. Our waiter (can't remember his name right now, but it started with a P I think) was very friendly and outgoing. Apparently there are a few Tin Fish locations around the US, we had no idea. Though we probably won't be back to Okeechobee to eat at Tin Fish again, we'd be happy to try it elsewhere.

Took my family here for a quick lunch. We were in the area and knew my wife wanted seafood. Walking in you quickly notice how new and nice everything is. It's a good look for okeechobee. Different but familiar. I went with the salmon sandwich but can't really remember what everyone else got. I will say my bro had a minor complaint about his catfish sandwich. To which the waiter said he'd get him another one and when my bro said not to worry about it. The waiter replied "nah that's not the way you're supposed to eat here". That really got my attention and made me glad we had eaten there. We got another sandwich made for us to take home. The service was on point and that really matters these days. They were attentive and pleasant. The food was hot, fresh and tasty. The conch fritters were also good and everyone was happy with their meal. We will definitely return.

Food was ok. Service not the best but not the worst. Might come back when in town next time but there are other better choices in Okeechobee.

What a treat. And unexpected surprise. We were in town for a visit and looking for a nice dinner place. Some very friendly staff. Fresh ingredients. I must say in a small town it is nice have gem like this to visit.

I was not curious to taste frog legs or alligator, but it was on the menu and 4 of my friends ordered and they were very pleased. I stayed away!! I had catfish tacos and they were tasty and they feel fresh. our server was great, everyone seems cool and friendly. Place has a nice decor and feels fresh. We like it!

Best place in Okeechobee!

Good food, Tasty, clean place including restrooms. Service was very good. But for a week day at lunch the place was empty. The reason is simple, the amount of food you get is pitiful. This is Okeechobee where people eat! One little bit of fish on a very little bit of greens and a side of slaw so small I would be ashamed to serve it. Well I will not rush back and maybe that's why other have not. They did give me a drink to go on the way out which was nice.

Staff is extremely accommodating. Posted closing time during the week is 8pm. I arrived at 8:30 and they welcomed me like family. The owner is on site and involved with all operations. Clearly wants to make this a destination stop. Food was very hot and fresh tasting. I'd definitely come back!

I never thought to stop in and try this place, just assumed it wasn't anything good until someone told me how great it was. Every time we have been here the food has been fresh, seasoned well and cooked perfect. The atmosphere is great and everyone is always smiling. I've always been weary about eating seafood but this place took that away. The tacos are amazing and they have different specials every day! We love Carly and Courtney and now there is a new girl Hanna who is very nice also that my grandfather just loves.

Mixed feelings about our lunch there the other day. My husband really enjoyed his Okeechobee Special sandwich plate. I ordered a 1/2 order of the grilled plate mahi mahi, a tiny container of cole slaw that was very good, the fish was suppose to be on a bed of grilled cabbage. There was less cabbage under the fish then in the tiny side dish, it was not grilled and only warm from the over cooked fish laying on top of it. Including an ice tea and a soda lunch was $22.50 and I was still hungry.

I liked the Tin Fish was passing through Okeechobee FL and stopped for lunch. I had a catfish sandwich w fries and cole slaw which was good my husband had the fish tacos he said they were excellent. I'd go here again.

The food is tastily prepared but the portions are ientirely too small for the price. The Po'Boy was supposed to come with tomato and lettuce mayo tartar and hot sauce They forgot the tomato and barely enough shrimp to go from one end to the other. More of a jam sandwich. You know where you jam two polices of bread together ... The fries were blah and we were never offered ketchup and the slaw is terrible. Sweet vinegar , really? That's all? No thanks.

Great conch fritters and fresh oysters...and the cornbread is to die for! If you are in the area, a definite must do.

We just moved to Okeechobee and this was the first place we went to eat. We walked in late after their posted hours and asked if they were still seating, the guy (owner?) looked at the clock and said Sure, so we stayed and were seated. I ordered the gator, catfish, and frog legs dinner, my husband ordered the 6 piece fish and chips. The chips were waffle fries and were very tasty, and we both loved our dinners. The frog legs were my favorite and I'll definitely get them again. It was a lot of food and we had trouble finishing it. The coleslaw was very different but we loved it. It was not a mayo based coleslaw - I think it was vinegar based and tasted sweet/sour. We split a piece of raspberry (?) cheesecake which was just so-so, but maybe it was because we were so full. We really wanted the key lime pie but they were temporarily out. Our service was great, there were only three other tables full. Restrooms were very clean and roomy. We will definitely be back.

Try the Gator burrito out of alligator tail and the house brew on tap, lovely. The service was excellent.

Outstanding restaurant fabulous food great service wonderful atmosphere love this place

Pleasant atmosphere and equally pleasant food. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be a return customer. Try the lobster and fish tacos !!!

Meh. For the price point, this was underwhelming at best. The grilled shrimp burrito lacked flavor other than the hot sauce and the shrimp, what little there was, was not grilled. The service was good but you're served in a plastic basket with fries. The best thing was the coleslaw.

My friend and I were going through Okeechobee last night and looking for a place to eat. We happened across Tin Fish about ten minutes before closing. In spite of arriving so late, the kitchen was open, the staff was friendly, and we received excellent service and a wonderful meal. I had the fried gator dinner (one of my favorites) and my friend had the lobster bisque and a salmon dinner plate. We both had the salted caramel cheesecake for dessert, which was just out of this world. We thought the food was fantastic, and service was prompt and delivered with a smile. This is one of those rare finds with excellent food and excellent service. We will definitely be back!

Amazing corn fritters and coleslaw. The sweet potato fries aren't that great. I think they're frozen ones instead of fresh. Not worth the $2 substitution fee. Been hew repeatedly it's always great with happy staff. Buy the tin fish T-shirt if u come a lot as every time u wear it in u get a free Tin Fish Beer. Fish always taste fresh and good. Very nice decor too. They have an open kitchen if u like to watch the food get cooked. The coleslaw is fresh with seasoning and vinegar rather than the normal unhealthy mayo version you usually get. And it's AMAZING!!!!!

Randomly chose this place while working in the area for a weekend dinner with my fiance. Had Cigar City Jai Alai on draft and served it in a USF glass. Being that I'm from Tampa, I was sold. Fish, frog legs, and shrimp had the perfect amount of spice and seasoning. While be returning when I come back for work again.
