I finished work late one night, directly across the street from this joint. I couldn't read the sign from where I was through the trees, but heard the music and decided to stop in for a bite and beer before driving home. So, naturally, everyone who works here (pretty much) is wearing a kilt, even the guys. So know that before you wander in with your wife and kids after church. I sat at the bar with a coworker and we ordered a few things to nibble on. She had a salad that she said was so-so, and i had some meatball sliders that were OK. Nothing special, but maybe a bit above average for a place that really is a drinking spot.

Driving on a long trip and stopped for the night in Ocala in time to catch the NCAA regionals that began at 7pm. Found there is a Tilted Kilt here, and headed that way. Had never been to this location or any other TK before. For a Friday night, it was busy but not packed. There was live music on the patio that was quite good. The woman at the door offered me a table on the patio or inside. I told her I was there for the basketball, and she led me to a table in front of a bank of TVs. Great vantage point to watch both ongoing games. The waitress, Rachael, came over, introduced herself, and took my beer order. Their selection of draft beers looked to be about 25 different brands. Wide enough to satisfy most imbibing customers. The waitress returned with the beer, and when she found out that I was a first-timer, she was very helpful with the menu. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie.(As a former UK resident, it's a familiar dish.) It arrived quickly, and was just what I expected - tasty and satisfying. The portion was a bit larger than I could finish, but I'm not a heavy eater. The waitress was quick to return when my beer started running out and to offer me another. It looked to me like she had four other tables to serve, including one of eight customers. Considering the workload, she did a good job of getting it all done. Overall, I had a very good experience, and would return if I'm ever in this area again. My tournament teams didn't win, though.

Ordered bbq burger and the wings grilled. Wings with the tilted kilt sauce were just good nothing to write home about. Tasted like buffalo sauce. The bbq burger was excellent. The chips were very good, crispy and not soggy. Would have got 5 stars but drinks were a bit pricey. 5 beers for $25 is high in my opinion. Went for trivia and this was very good and we will be back.

Went for lunch last Tuesday around 1pm. Place was empty. Mini Kilt wearing scantily clad waitress server prompt to greet. They were out of champagne so my pal went without his afternoon mimosa. I wanted the salmon, but they were out of that too. Came up with plan B; my buddy got a small size nacho appetizer that could feed a family of 3, my fish sandwich was just so-so and it came along with an oily house salad. Offering olive oil and a balsamico would be an improvement. A few tables started to fill up at around 2:30 when we were leaving. Good natured beer drinking innibriate at the bar said place gets hopping after 5 pm with a live band and more of the eye candy Kilt servers.

Terrible. I've worked in management in the service industry for 10 years and this place blows me away with how awful it is. I've given it 3 tries. Each a nightmare. I want to give this NO stars but Yelp makes me put 1. The first time was at a biker event. The bar was busy but not crazy. Not a single bartender acknowledged the 4 of us on one side of the bar for at least 10 minutes. Not even a "I'll be right with you..." got eye contact from the girl, who grabbed liquor bottles from the well in front of us. Then she walked off and talked to some young guys for a while. Not working. The guy behind the bar was just as bad. I finally got the girl to look at us again and pointedly asked if anyone was working this side of the bar. She gave me a nasty look then went and poured a beer for the guy next to me. He didn't even want another. He'd been trying to get his check the whole time. Second go-round. Sat down with friends and tried dinner. Nothing on the menu is really special or clever. It's a pub. That's fine, it's what you'd expect. The quesadilla we got was soggy and soaked in grease. It was disgusting to the point of inedible. My friend sent it back and didn't get anything else. The server's response? "Yeah, the manager said it's not one of his favorite things either so he took it off your bill." Dafuq?? And finally, my favorite. A friend's moving away so we went out for drinks. This happens: "What would you like to drink?" "A vodka and soda please. With lemon." "Is coke ok?" "...what?" "For your soda. Is coke ok?" No. No it is not. You work in a bar and don't know what a vodka soda is?... If you want football, fried food, and cleavage (hey, who doesnt?!) Go to the Wing House down the street.

Service mediocre. Waited 30 minutes for an appetizer. Not on my list next visit. Only mom and pop places.

Service has been really slow everytime I've come here. Food is pretty generic. I've eaten at several in the Orlando area and this particular location isn't up to par in my opinion. The waitresses haven't been very attentive since they think that giving the male patrons more attention will get them better tips.

Poor bar food. Weak drinks. Slow service. Don't be surprised when they close. Waitresses seem selected for their physical attributes rather than their abilities.

The Tilted Kilt is one of those spin-offs from Hooters, only executed a little better, in my opinion. Maybe that's because it's more unique and to the liking of this Celt. It's a relaxing place with a good sized bar and a pleasant atmosphere. If I lived in Ocala, I could see this place being a frequent stop for a few beers. Having my 2 of favorite beers on tap, Smithwicks and Hoegaarden, certainly doesn't hurt. For the rest of the review, I had heard mixed reviews on each topic: Ladies, service, and food. Starting with the "ladies", I had better scenery than some others. I'd heard tales of trashy and overweight gals in their tiny kilts and open shirts exposing generous cleavage (an outfit, btw, far superior to Hooters or any other winghouse of it's kind). I was pleasantly surprised to see only slender, attractive waitresses. Maybe that was due to Black ? Next, the service. Not good. It was fine right up until the food arrived. Once the food came, it was impossible to find or wave down our waitress. As the meal was ending and I was still sitting there with an empty beer, I finally got her attention, then watched as she carried my glass away and cleared 2 tables before bringing me another beer. I was in disbelief, especially since the place was pretty damn slow and there was no need or rush to clear the tables before getting my damn beer. I'll admit, this is the first time in many years I haven't tipped at least 20%. The food! Well, it is a pub, so don't expect much, right? I heard from a couple friends that the "Irish" food was horrid, so don't even think about a Sheppards Pie or the like. There were a couple things that sounded really good, but I was in the mood for a Cheesesteak. About as average as average can be. It was a decent size, but nothing memorable at all. The fries are boring. The mashed potatoes for my daughter were pretty bad (the waitress at least warned us about that, but there was nothing else baby friendly on the menu). I wouldn't mind trying the sausage and peppers, a flatbread, and I should have ordered some wings with the signature sweet and spicy sauce. I'm rarely in Ocala, so it's not likely I'll go back when there's a Longhorns in town. It would be a 2 star, but the atmosphere and bar bump it up to 3. If I was basing it on that alone, it might even get a 4 star as a pure drinking place (and sitting AT the bar, not at a table).

This is one of those few bars in Ocala where you can go and relax after work. Great atmosphere and service, and their poker night is great fun.

Awful, once was enough really. I was with three other people and we were sat outside on a calm Monday afternoon. After sitting there for about 30 minutes, we were getting frustrated. No drinks, no introduction, nothing. I got up to flag down what I assumed was our waitress, she looked at us and her face dropped. "Oh! Sorry about that guys, I forgot you were out here!" I WISH I made that up. At that point we just wanted to leave, it doesn't feel very good to be forgotten about. She assured us we should stay and that the good would be really quick. We stayed unfortunately. I ordered a turkey burger..wow. Bland, unpleasant, didn't want to finish it and left hungry. All in my party was unsatisfied. We left feeling like we'd been robbed. If you are someone who cares more about the taste and quality of the food and little about decor or gimmicks like "sexy" waitresses, this place is a letdown. Might as well stay home, eat cardboard, and watch Spike TV. It's lame.

This is a low class version of Hooters. I ordered the Irish stew and the meat in it looked like dog food and tasted even worse. I sent it back and had a burger instead it was tasty. Everything was an upgrade. The salad was gross and the lettuce was old and see through. Don't expect much from a place where the waitresses are half naked. $35 wasted. I wish I could give it a zero star.

I've tried to like this place I really have. But every time I go they take forever to take even a drink order. I waited 30 minutes for my drink order to be taken. It was a Tuesday night. At most 15 people there. Took 30 minutes to get our food order. Was there in total of 2 hours most of it waiting. My sandwich was meant to be hot, it was not even luke warm by the time I got my food. My waitress was gossiping with her co-workers the whole time. I left a 5 dollar tip. My bank statement comes back a week later that I left a 15 dollar tip. My waitress added a 1 in front of the 5 on the receipt. Never going there again.

Hooters with an Scottish theme, typical air headed and bubble breasted waitresses with no clue. Food was okay, it would be nice to have a fish option I made a comment as a joke to a the waitress, "what makes a cheese steak Scottish?" and her reply was, "because that is it's name." I then said "instead of beef should it no be lamb instead of beef?" She obliviously had no clue that sheep or lamb was a common meat in the UK. Good to try you may like it. But not really anything original, just the same tried and true food in every other, Hooters, Winghouse or similar.

What's not to love? Great beer selection at low prices, decent pub menu, more TV's than you could possibly stare at and a great atmosphere. We came in on a Sunday night to watch some football, have some drinks and eat a relaxing dinner and stayed for the night. The food was pretty good (I got the Irish Dip sandwich) and the beers were flowing. At the end of the night our bill was half of what we thought it should be. The service was great The only negative is really the location. Aside from that, it's definitely worth the trip.

I have been to many Tilted Kilts but first time at this location. Staff was friendly (as always) and the fish and chips were great. On top of the fish and chips tasting great the portion was huge!

The food here is actually pretty darn good. We have even had in-laws join us for dinner here and they had a good time and enjoyed the food. The attire of the waitresses could be better. Not sure if they are selling good food and spirits or lap dances. There really is no need for girls to be that scantily clad. You can be attractive and beautiful without giving the farm away, and that would be my only critique. Matter o fact that is probably the reason we don't dine there more often, as we have to be wary of who we would invite to dine at such an establishment.

Great service, nice hearty food for a chilly day, everyone(6) enjoyed their food. The atmosphere was a quaint pub like setting.

Food most good, my fries were very greasy and the bacon was over cooked, but everyone enjoyed their food. They did mess up on one order and took 45 minutes to get food at 11:10 am w only 3 other customers in the place.

Came in on a Friday night had great fast service. Order the pastrami and it was awesome. Live music was playing. Service was good. Made a mistake with my food and fixed it rather fast. I will be going back. Music was good as well

This place is like a Hooter and Ale House all in one. Good food and great place to hang out to watch sports.

this is a nice reasonably clean restaurant. However, have been there twice and food is not consistent, one time was great next time not so great. The waitress' are darling and quite respectful. I being an old woman find that refreshing.
