GREAT PIZZA.... TERRIBLE & RUDE SERVICE!!!! Well... While this is the closest thing to an authentic N.Y. pie you'll find in Ocala, expect surly attitude from the wait staff!! & hold on to your wallets. They are definitely shysters. !!!!! I called in a large veggie pie... when I was told the total price, I changed my mind & ordered a medium. When I came to pick it up, they charged the same price as if I ordered a large... When I inquired (surely an error, correct?), they muttered something about medium & large being the same price after tax, then disappeared. When she came back, she acted like she was doing me a HUGE favor by getting my garlic butter (which unlike all fine pizza joints I've ever frequented.. they do NOT add to crust by request; they charge you $2 and you drizzle it on yourself). Then disappeared again without giving me change... came back up & brushed me off when I asked for my change, made me wait while she took phone orders instead, then laughed as she got me my change saying it "wasn't much anyways"; I've honestly never had worse service in my life. BEWARE of the dark-haired female server!!!!! Lol, good pizza though. A bit pricey ($22 for a large... or apparently, also a medium), considering the mushrooms are canned, not fresh- & even something as basic as garlic butter on the crust costs extra.

We haven't been up to Ocala in a while and it's great to see good things don't change. The food is still great and so is the service, very attentive to your needs. Started with calamari for an appetizer and they were tender, crispy, and full of flavor. I got the linguine with fresh clams (still in the shells) which was perfectly seasoned, the clams were tender and full of taste. I also tasted the stuffed shells my partner ordered and they were as delicious as I remember. We also ordered a large pizza to take home... You can't leave without pizza lol.

This is a great family-owned place. The large sign on Silver Spring Blvd is an Ocala landmark! I stopped by after New Years just to get a slice with an old friend. The owner (or one of his sons?) greeted me like family. I used to eat here with my family all the time as a kid but I doubt he knew who I was. The front has several booths where you can sit and watch them make the pies. Total pizza-parlor-esque. The back has that old-American-Italian-restaurant feel complete with plastic grapes and vines. Very eclectic. I even went on dates here in high school! Ooh-la-la!!! Lorito's is a must for Ocalans. If you want to eat where the locals do, go to Lorito's!

We have eaten here a few times. Pizza - 2 stars Food- 1 stars I would rate their pizza much higher than their food. The pizza is typically very good. Honestly, my biggest complaint is with the food. Of all the dishes we've tried, they seem quite bland- not much flavor. Some you can definitely tell are not handmade- maybe they come from Sysco. I can't be sure. The french bread they serve with dinner is definitely not made there. It's generic bread. Salad is boring.

After an extended day of kayaking, we came here for some food. Our kayaking buddies talked it up quite a bit mentioning they make a stop here almost every time they are in the area. Their menu is an extensive version of American-Italian. Pizza, eggplant Parmesan, Spaghetti & Meatballs and everything in between. My fiance and I decided to share a large vegetarian pizza. This was mostly a financial decision for us. Their entrees were $15-20+ and we decided to split a pizza between the two of us instead of spending $40+. The pizza came out quickly and it was alright. Thin to medium crust, good amount of cheese and fresh toppings. Heavy on the garlic (which we like), along with some of their other entrees I tried. Their red sauce was delicious which I got to try from sampling some of friends dishes. The environment is no-frills, old school and comfortable and we had no problems with the service. It's definitely an OK local joint to get some pizza and food.

From what I understand, this place has been around for over 30 years and is still owned by the same family. I've been there but once and the Meatball sub was pretty good. I would always rather support a family restaurant that pays such attentive detail to their food. Very "family" feel. Next time I am trying the pasta.

This pie is a contender. Lorito's has that old school, no nonsense, pizza parlor vibe; the type of establishment that is all but vanished-- conquered by conveyor belt ovens, soul destroying grates and homogenizing uniforms. Ocala..Florida...better yet the U.S. needs this place and every other place like it! So off the soapbox, how's the pizza? Lorito's would almost certainly dethrone Sammy's as my favorite pie if not for the lesser quality toppings. Their crust has all the chewy snappiness which only high gluten flour can provide. The sauce is the right amount of sweetness and acidity and the cheese is of decent quality. Were ever a Florida pie to stand as a monument to the sum of childhood's better pies; this, at least for me, would be it! To all the seedy, late night, pizza parlors complete with a Ms. Pacman and glossy-eyed, 2 a.m. weekend late-teen clientele: Thy spirit lives on! Thank you and keep doing what you're doing. America will rediscover you.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Their red sauce was delicious which I got to try from sampling some of friends dishes. The environment is no-frills, old school and comfortable and we had no problems with the service. It's definitely an OK local joint to get some pizza and food.

Great service and awesome food!! I took my kids here and they loved the garlic knots, spaghetti and pizza!! The food was really good.. The garlic knots were to die for.. I would definitely come back and eat here again and recommend this place to anyone who loves a home ran Italian restaurant!!

The food was great but the service was horrid. The calzone good. Pizza was really great but not exactly what we ordered. Was hard to get drink refills and was a bit overpriced for what we had. Waitress was rude and ignored us

Great place for a "home cooked meal" and hm-mm- um- good Italian food, Don't miss out on their Steak Subs! Stromboli's filled with cheese and any fix-in's you desire! So big you wont believe it! be ready to share!

Lorito's has been around since before I was born and I'm in the over 30 crowd, thank you very much. If you go to this link, you can see their fabulous sign that was put up in 1973. flickr.com/photos/dania_… Time has stood still in this little place and the decor is a hoot! The waitresses have been working there since time immemorial and are the spunkiest servers you'll ever hope to meet. Ocala is my hometown and unfortunately I've watched become overrun by chain restaurants and the like. but this place is the real deal. and the pizza is superb! support your local economy and visit Lorito's! and say hi to my dad for me. he's 60ish, glasses, and is eating his favorite pizza...pepperoni.

We dropped by Lorito's last night and had a great meal. Cheese Pizza and Spaghetti and MeatBalls with sauce. Pizza crust, cheese and sauce was a great combination.. reminding us of a good NYC Pizza. Spaghetti and Meatballs was excellent also. We will be back soon. Staff was friendly and we prompt.

The food is great here. Family owned so you've gotta love that. Ask for the cute brunette Maria to serve you, it's her family's place. The mussels are excellent, garlic knots and pizza both awesome as well.

There are four hourly employees there. You can tell by the number of time cards next to the time clock in the dining room. The clock doesn't seem to work so must just be there to add to the ambiance. Goes with the plastic grapes glued to the fake roof. Gotta love it. This place reminds me of the pizzerias I went to when I was a kid. Good pizza, great hot minestrone soup and a cold crisp antipasto salad with rolled up deli meats, veggies and a great dressing. We split a medium pepperoni and mushroom pizza and salad. My companion had the soup. Service was fast, courteous and effecient. The only issue was the men's room needs a good douche. The waste basket looks like it was dug out of a swamp. Really borderline disgusting.

Our fav is an off menu, chicken picata. Greek salad is good at lunch, soup is decent. It has a lot of family, and Gaspar is the father and best cook. Ask for him and his recs. If Gaspar is in the kitchen, everything is great. Everyone in our family love the pizza. Yeah, the plastic grapes are interesting, only to be topped by the 1/2 full jug of cheap wine in the locked wine cabinet.

Based on only eating a pepperoni and sausage calzone, TOTAL WIN. Sauce was great. Dough was great. So much cheese. I'm a native New Yorker and this place is excellent.

Let me qualify my review: 1. I'm from NY, but live in NJ now. 2. I'm 1/2 Italian 3. I'm a paramedic for 20 years in NYC and Newark, NJ That said, I was totally impressed by Lorito's. I felt so much at home went I went in there. The decor is perfect: Nothing has changed since it opened, nor that it should. The food was great. I had a bunch of garlic knots and a medium pie. It was as if I ordered it in Brooklyn or Staten Island. My dad had sausage and peppers over pasta. They are nice people, family owned for more than 40 years, the service is great, the place is clean, and the food is excellent. What more would one want??

The food is not bad, the interior is horrible like a time trip back to the 60's. We found their prices to be very high for this type of place.

Tried Lorito's Italian Kitchen's terrific Manicotti yesterday for the first time. Pictures and slideshow: goo.gl/rrYOK The Manicotti is delicious! Found out Lorito's is now delivering too! Looking forward to eating my way through their menu. Convenient location, in business over 40 years, and a local favorite. goo.gl/rrYOK
