Latin American Cafe is by far above and beyond any Latin restaurant in town. Authentic, amazingly-flavored, friendly service, fast, and extremely affordable. The roast pork is my favorite. The pork falls apart, and is in a mojo type sauce with what seems like lime, cilantro, and onions. Each entree is served with choice of rice, beans, and side, either fried or boiled yucca, fries, or plantains. I recommend the white rice, red beans and boiled yucca. The boiled yucca soaks up the flavor of the pork, and is just plain awesome with hot sauce. If you're brave enough, ask for their specialty hot sauce. It's really hot, but really good. Manny and his family are the best, and despite me being a typical gringo, they make me feel like family. The place is small, homey, and it truly feels like you're eating a meal in their home. I saved the best for last...the espresso. Good Lord. I typically prefer my coffee black, but they sweeten the espresso and it's by far the best in town. I always end my meals with an espresso to-go. Thankful I found this Ocala gem. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

No new inspection report. No, I am not a gluten for punishment. I have an unfortunate habit of going out without eating and paying the price as I'm driving around. Which is what happened the second time I recently stopped there. I figured I'd order a pressed breakfast sandwich for take out. Surely it couldn't be that bad. Not! As I'm waiting for preperation of my sandwich, the cook comes out of the kitchen with my sandwich in her bare hand and places it on the press! I notice at the same time there are pieces of food on the press left over from other sandwiches. Too late. The press goes down. At least the owner handled the food properly was it was finished. An average price for an omlette. When I got home to eat it, grease was seeping through the brown paper bag it was in. When I opened it, the sandwich was wrapped in a napkin and a small piece of wax paper! When I inspected the sandwich, the omlette was brown. It was obvious the grill had not been scraped before this was cooked. Yuck! Also very greasy. No matter how long it's been since I've eaten I will not stop by here again......ever....for any reason.

Excellent, authentic Cuban food. Small, hole-in-the-wall kind of place - a counter and maybe six or seven tables. But it's the real deal. What it lacks in ambiance it more than make up for with great food and a very friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommended.

I'm from Miami, and I know my Cuban food. This place is awesome. The food is authentic and delicious. Try the breaded steak, yum! The people are friendly and the prices are great too. The atmosphere isn't great, but the awesome food makes up for that.

Latin American Cafe has the best Cuban food in Ocala! I lived in South Florida for a few years, and know my Cuban cuisine, and Latin American Cafe could give the best of them a run for their money. Manny, the owner, is pleasant and personable, and exemplifies how a restaurant owner should treat customers. He remembers repeat customers and makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. The Cuban pressed breakfast sandwich is awesome, as are the Cuban sandwiches and Cafe con Leche! Other items I've had have impressed me as well, such as the breakfast omlettes and lunch specials. I highly recommend Latin American Cafe- give it a try- you'll be glad you did!

Small informal but excellent food at very reasonable prices. Try the Daily specials and on Friday they Serve "OX tail" Spanish style! TO DIE FOR.. the best "Cuban" sandwich in Ocala.. Manny the owner always there with a great sense of humor to get you smiling, a feel good, every one knows your name place. If your in the area stop by and enjoy home cooking..

I've visited this wonderful place several times now and each time I am full, full, FULL because it is all so delicious. Friendly owners and staff help make it a joyful experience as well. They are involved in our community and volunteer to make Ocala and Marion County a better place for all. I highly recommend this wonderful little gem to everyone for dining in, take out or your catering needs.

Always great food well prepared. I had empanizado, my wife had palomilla. Both with sides of yellow rice and black beans. I also had a side of yucca con mojo. Sorry, forgot to take pics There isn't anything to say about any of the food except it was ALL right(correctly prepared and served)
