Been eating here for many years. Some subtle changes to the menu, for the better. Tonight's meal was probebly the best I have ever had here. A curry & shrimp dish I had never tried before was fantastic.

Phenomenal, reliable. This was the restaurant that first made me fall in love with Thai food. Beautiful decor, perfect food, fair prices, and very nice owners and staff. And, it's open till 10 or 11 every night! If you're hungry for Thai in Ocala, this is definitely the place to be.

Great Thai cuisine. Spicy, peanutty, delish!

The service and the decor are nice, but the food leaves more to your imagination than you'd like. I had a bland wonton soup followed by a bland Pad Thai (served without limes, negative points from me!). The dumpling appetizer was pretty good, but I was shocked they didn't have rangoon on the menu. Overall, the menu was smaller than most Thai places.

Absolutely first rate, from the freshness and flavor of the food to the great waiters to the calming peaceful interior . This is the best Thai in Ocala and Gainesville hands down. My personal faves are chicken satay, hot sour soup and "bang bang" chicken - fried chicken fillets with chili sauce. The basil sauce and massaman curry are superb. Add to all of this that the prices are cheap as ho hum Chinese takeout and you realize how great this place is . ------------------- Followup: After reading the other reviews, I would like to qualify. I would not recommend the Pad Thai here. It's not bad, but I agree with the reviewer that said it was bland. I also agree with the reviewer who was disappointed that some common Thai dishes are not on the menu; that surprised me as well. However, there are menu choices that are superb. These include the Tom Yum soups, Satay, the fresh salad, and the dishes with basil sauce or chili sauce. The massaman is quite good (for Florida). I have not tried the green, red or yellow curries but on my next trip I will. One final caveat - I am rating based on comparable restaurants in North Florida. I would drop one star if rating against the best Thai places I have eaten in on the west coast.

Very nice decor, wait staff and food prep...we will return. Negatives include their location in a long-since defunct strip mall was very poor (with a question of security in the evening). Prices are about 25-30% higher than other Thai restaurants in the area...

I have eaten at Ayuttaya for a few years and every time I go it is always a delight. I always order my food spicy. The coconut soup is great. Lunch is reasonable and the decor is nice. Always consistent. Will continue.

Beautiful restaurant! Went for lunch and the crowd was small and we were seated right away. My wife and I were in search of a good Thai restaurant and found it! Very fresh, hot food that was deliciously prepared. It is tough to find, tucked in the corner of a shopping center. It should have it's own stand alone building on the main drag, the food is that good!

Quick update! I just discovered today that they DO have a Tom Yum noodle dish on the lunch menu (appetizer only on the dinner menu). It is delicious, and they even gave me extra spices in bowls to tweak it however I would like. This is the perfect meal to end a stressful trip on a truly uplifting note. Thanks, Ayuttaya!

I just want to say this place was amazing. I did get my food to go because I was tired and wanted to check in to my hotel. The service at the counter was very friendly the inside of the restaurant was decorated okay but the food was absolutely amazing. Are you tired least once a week during my travels and this is by far one of the best Thai restaurants I've had in a very long time. The Tom Kha soup was not what I was expecting from what I've had before however the flavors were absolutely out of this world. It felt as though I was having a party in my mouth the flavors were so outstanding. Then I had the yellow curry with chicken and that was phenomenal as well. It was so good that I'm going again tonight to try the pad thai and also the crab ragoon I can anticipate the same satisfaction that I had last night. This is definitely on my must do list when I come back to Ocala

It's a great place for Thai food. The waiters are cordial and accommodating. Tom yum soup is great. Loved almost all the dishes I have eaten there except cellophane noodles (was too oily for my taste). Drunken noodles are my favorite. My husband loves the pad thai.

Great food & service. Our fav Thai place in Ocala. I like the Pad Prig Kingh w/chicken.
(5)Cara M.
If you like frozen food this is the most place for you. I was hoping for fresh spring rolls instead I got the same thing I buy in a bag at Costco. Then I ordered pad Thai thinking they can't possibly screw this up, we'll just my luck they did. The noodles stuck together again not fresh and it would be nice to have some flavor. Never again.
(1)Mary M.
All kinds of delicious curry in here, lots of veggies too, healthy choice for lunch. Lunch was quick no bs!
(5)Loida G.
Nice and quiet. Great place to sit down and chat. They offer plenty of vegan options and will gladly make substitutions. The portions are of a good size and the price is on the moderate side.
(4)Sarah B.
We always stop here on our way to or from south fl. It's always very good and fresh. The shrimp in a blanket appetizer and the chicken bang bang are really good!
(5)Don M.
Wonderful atmosphere, good service, fresh food. I had drunken noodles with fried tofu. I asked for hot and it was perfectly spicy.

Its part of a strip-mall-like shopping center and the exterior looks the part. I wasn't sure what to expect from a Thai spot in this area, but I was happy to find it! The interior was surprisingly beautiful. Lots of cherry woods, warm paint from wall-to-wall and on the ceiling, ambient lighting, even in the restrooms, and beautiful artwork. The hostess wore a traditional Thai dress and she greeted us with a smile. Great first impression! Our server was wonderful too. He had infinite patience for our table's questions (we had a Thai food virgin and a Thai food novice with us). I was super excited to see a whole section on the menu dedicated to my favorite bird...the duck! I didn't actually order off that menu, but I did order me some duck. Our table had Duck Noodle Soup, two orders of Pad Kee Mao at different spice levels (my GF ordered the "Thai Spicy"), Chicken Fried Rice, and Spring Rolls. The "Thai Spicy" noodles were indeed spicy, but the dish was really bland...salty enough, but that fresh basil kick was totally absent. My duck noodle soup was also dull, probably the dullest I've ever had of this dish. I'm actually kinda sad I can't give them a better review, but Thai food needs to be on point with those spices, and unfortunately, this place missed the mark.

We've been to Ayuttaya about three times. The first two were better than our last. I guess it depends on what you order. Let me say that the service is awesome. We really appreciate that. The food has been hit and miss. The yellow curry with chicken was really nice. On our last visit, my husband tried the Pad Thai. It was totally not impressive. It was a too sweet sauce and he ended up sharing my plate that evening. We've had good luck with the appetizers. The steamed dumplings are quite tasty and the Mee Krob was excellent. I will say that the atmosphere is really nice and the booths are really comfy. We will go back again.

My husband stopped here for lunch and raved about it. I am willing to admit it...I am a Thai food junkie. So we are always looking for that REALLY good place. Sat. Night we went for dinner. When we arrived there was a large party (10-12) and 4 - 5 tables of two. I counted 3 wait staff, 1 host, and 1 bussing tables. We ordered fresh rolls and drinks. It took almost 15 min.s to get my tea and my husbands beer; another 25 min.s for the rolls to arrive; finally 45 min.s after the rolls our Pad Thai arrived. In between the rolls and entree I inquired twice about our meals. Our server surprised us with dessert--banana and coconut ice cream. She apologized for the delays, they where short-handed in the chefs. And one chef was extremely busy trying to keep up with what turned out to be a packed restaurant! I am impressed she saw our growing dismay and that dessert was EPIC!! And yes it was the best I've had since we left Sarasota! Overall, what a wonderful meal....can't wait to go back.

Service was fine, decor is a bit tired, but the food was a real miss. Our of 4 dinners, there was not a dish that I would order again. Wine was inexpensive. A real value. Been there a few times that were better. Maybe the #1 cook was on vacation. The Royal Orchid down the street is much better.

I hear this place is under new management. It seems like this place has trouble with standard items, but rocks the kazbah with more unusual ones. Nice furniture, slightly awkward costumes. The Panang curry was really nice, and twice as good with crispy duck mixed in! The Tom Kha Gai soup was one of the best I've ever had. The Pad Thai was super greasy and excessively sweet, however. My cousin got the red curry and found it to be lacking the usual spicy kick and flavor. It was difficult to get water brought to the table, but the waitress was very interested in up-selling and bringing us soft drinks. The restaurant was mood-lighting dark to begin with and the staff kept dimming the lights every 15-20 minutes. Had I not been sitting directly under one of the spotlights mounted on the ceiling, I wouldn't have been able to see my food or the bill when it came. The 18% mandatory group gratuity was added on after the tax was calculated, so it came out to about 22% instead. The waitress had difficulty making herself understood because of her accent, so we didn't bother trying to fix the miscalculation.

First time to restaurant with family lousy service - 45 minute wait for food. talked with manager on duty NO HELP

Hallelujah! Finally a real "fine dining" experience in Ocala. We enjoyed a delicious meal trying out the appetizer sampler (the home made crab rangoon with curry were to DIE for! YUM!), the chicken tom ka soup, and the pad thai. The environment was comfortable, clean, and quiet! Lovely soothing music, no tvs blaring, and the ability to hold a normal volume conversation and actually hear my companion. The service was excellent. The waiter was attentive, observant, provided just enough information and suggestions, but didn't linger or give us his life story (thank goodness!). The thai tea was very tasty also. The price was right for a lovely meal. The flavors were delicious but for a thai restaurant, the spice factor was non-existent. We were not even asked what level of spice we would like. Next time (and yes, we will definitely eat here again), we will ask for a bit spicier level for the entre. Highly recommend this restaurant and will take family and friends here to enjoy also.

I have eaten here many times and always love the experience. Love the pad thai and Jasmine tea. Price is good. Love how the vegetables are cut into flower shapes.

Fantastic Thai food. Whenever we drive to Ocala we make sure to have lunch here. Our favorites are Spicy basil fried rice and Drunken noodles. Their peanut sauce is heavenly. Tom yum soup and house salad are good too.

I thought I had reviewed Ayuttaya..wow can't believe I forgot. We've been going to Ayuttaya for about 6+ years now. Sometimes restaurants get worse with age, but Ayuttaya is consistently good and on top of their game which is Thai food. Atmosphere = gets a 5 rating for Ocala, I personally think it's more chic that Sky Asian Fusion decor. Service = gets a 5, always very friendly and attentive, there's always someone to ask around, all you have to do it look up and out, and someone will be right there to help..love it..good service Food = this is why we yelp right ? a 5 also..excellent non-fried spring rolls, excellent peanut satay with the little sterno grill, my wife always gets the Pad Thai..and everywhere else we go she gets Pad Thai and we both admit Ayuttaya has the best in North Central Florida we've tried. Still hoping to try SEA Thai in Orlando that everyone is raving about. Prices = gets a 4, but you pay for what you get, they are not expensive, but they are not inexpensive either, you really feel you got a 5 star meal and service at and excellent price. We like Ayuttaya first and Royal Orchid second. Royal has a more traditional Thai decor inside, Ayuttaya has a more chic minimalist decor inside, but very cozy and comfortable, not cheesy or over the top. Just classy. Highly recommend !! We drive all the way down from Gainesville to eat at Ayuttaya as we don't have any good Thai in Gville.

Food and service was very good. There was a number of items to choose from, and satisfied the wants of every member of our group
(5)Yup L.
Great food, atmosphere and service.Nicely decorated decor (can make a great date location btw) and the entree servings are always more than enough to make you full :) Pad see ew is to die for sooo good and if you ask for medium spicy you'll get enough kick soo good

I had pretty high hopes for Ayuttaya when I tried it instead of Royal Orchid, where I go otherwise for Thai in Ocala, but I cannot say I was much impressed. The location in a strip mall that is a bit run-down and has many vacant store spots (yet that also has Best Buy and Staples as its anchors which seem to be doing fine) opens up to a very inviting atmosphere: a restaurant that has ample space and has been decorated in a pleasing if somewhat trite American-Thai restaurant style of dark hardwoods, dim lighting, and Thai-inspired artwork here and there. The staff were polite though one young male waiter seemed to speak hardly any English. The menu is extensive though mirrors many a Thai menu across America: there are no unexpected or unique dishes here, but your typical curries, basil stir-fries, and of course a "chef's special" whole snapper in Thai chili sauce--a "special" I've seen at Royal Orchid and many other Thai restaurants in Florida and elsewhere. So it looked like a pretty typical experience before the food even came out, but typical can still be good. The problem was really the food, though. The Thai samosas were lacking in flavor and rather small and came with a sauce fit for Viet spring-rolls, but not very good with samosas. Tim's Thai in Gainesville--which recently and very sadly (to me) closed up shop--always had amazing samosas with a spicy sauce and that's what I'd hoped for with these, too. My spicy basil chicken stir-fry was not spicy at all (I did have the spice tray brought out to spice it up though) and what is more, was very very very salty. Like, far too salty. Beyond the overuse of salt, the flavors were bland and unremarkable. In fact, the entire dish was quite unremarkable. Would I go back? I suppose it would be fair to give them another try, but with Royal Orchid actually being pretty good, I don't see myself risking another poor meal here just to give Ayuttaya the benefit of the doubt. From now on, it's Royal Orchid all the way. *** As an aside to Thai restaurants all over America: maybe I am the odd man out in wanting a more authentic experience, but really, I feel like most Thai restaurants really could do far better. Look at the menus of the Four Seaons in Bangkok and while you don't need to do something that fancy, consider doing more than the same core dishes we see everywhere. Please, at least consider it. Innovation could be what sets you apart and makes your name.

The food and atmosphere were awesome, delicious appetizer and entrees. The service was the only pitfall. We were seated immediately, but the entrees were brought at different times and once our food was served we never saw the waitress again until she brought the bill. We will go again and hopefully have better service.

I enjoy this place and have eaten here a few times with the girlfriend who is a picky eater. She always seems keen on going back for the pad thai, so that's definitely a big compliment there. I've had a few of their dishes and all were good. Not the best I've had, but very good. Decor is very atmospheric, service is always top notch and timely. Oh, and another reviewer complained about a lack of crab rangoons.... hate to break it to you but that's an American invention from Chinese restaurants. I love them too, but you can't get upset that an upscale Thai place doesn't make them.
(4)Philip K.
The best Pad Thai I've ever eaten...hands down
(5)John Y.
By far the best Thai food I've tried in the area. It seems much cleaner than Royal Orchid (where I used to go before I found this place) and the staff is so much nicer. The spicy basil fried rice is amazing!
(5)John T.
Really nice atmosphere, really good food. At lunch today I had the chicken Pad Thai which had nice flavor and it was a nice size serving for lunch. From previous visits, the red curry and green curry are also very good. For good Thai food in Ocala, you can't go wrong at Ayuttaya.
(4)Elena L.
We stopped here in Ocala on the way from Sarasota to Charleston, SC. Discovered it on Yelp. This was as good a Thai restaurant as we have ever had. Loved the Tom Kha Goong (coconut soup with shrimp) the Chicken Rice soup, the Fresh rolls and the combination sampler (appetizers). Would definitely eat here again if we were down this way.
(5)Jerry F.
The Paneng Tofu here is really good! For an appetizer, try the Larb Gai (minced chicken with a spicy dressing on it, and rice powder).
(4)Margo K.
Terrific Thai! Very glad that we stopped on our way back to gville. Amazing service as well. The wait staff could not have been more polite. Can't wait to eat there again.
(5)Essie A.
This place was beautifully decorated, and the service was great... although, we were the only people in the restaurant. I think the food is expensive, but at the same time, I'm Thai.. so I always think Thai food anywhere in America is expensive.
(4)Corey M.
Crispy pad Thai with duck!
(5)Nikki D.
Eaten here many times and love the atmosphere and food. The peanut sauce is the best going - on the salad its pretty much the best I've ever had. I usually get pad thai and Mom has red curry tofu. All the dishes are incredible. The people are wonderful, service superb. I have never had anything less than a WONDERFUL meal here. Even the bathrooms are pristine! this is one of my favorite places in Ocala.
