Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.
Food Suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol
If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
The food is ok here, you just need to bring your overcoat. It is always freezing in this restaurant.

2 stars for now.. may bump it up in the future if I remember to go again. Went on karaoke night, was so loud that I could hear it pulling into the parking lot. Host sat us right next to the stereo set. Bad idea. Complained right away and was moved to the back corner where it was still extremely loud but not as bad. Oh wait. Forgot about the group of obnoxious african american teenagers yelling and screaming and cursing behind my table. Food was tasty, I'll try to come back again when it's NOT a karaoke night and re-do the review.

Not happy with Applebee's. Took a while to get seated. Then when we ordered drinks, it took over 10 min to come. They were NOT busy! Food was ok. My sandwich was supposed to have bacon it DID not. Fries were not good. Server looked like a manager and Didn't wait for answer kept saying thank you. Manager did visit table & offer a discount. But I won't be returning any time soon!

Bad service and not a good waitress. Went there @12:45 and it was not busy Place was half empty. Took a few mins to get seated. Waitress gave us cocktail napkins then left without taking our drink orders. Came back later and took our drink order. Then came back for food order. It took so long for 4 simples orders. Appetizer came out at 1:20. Food at 1:40. Which is way too long! Everybody's food got there but mine. Mine came a few mins later and it was wrong. I asked for bbq flavored fries and got sweet potato fries. I hate sweet potato. She was very slow and seemed to be lost. She seemed to be only able to do one thing at a time. I got the triple bacon burger and there was so little sauce on the burger I could not taste it. The only reason I go there is for the beer cheese dip with pretzel. Not sure I would go back unless it was togo.

Good service, good food. Odd floor plan for an Applebee's, you walk in and see the sides of the hostesses instead of welcoming faces. Otherwise, great atmosphere.

It's Applebee's. I'm pretty sure everyone living in the US has been to one. The food is mediocre, and the staff (no matter where in the US you are) always seem to playing out their roles as the cast of characters from the movie "Waiting." So, why would I give this place 4 precious stars? Ok - so we go to eat with our 4 year old and 14 month old. Miserable, but necessary to teach them how to behave properly. And thankfully, no one has of yet challenged our decision and made me explain to them that good parenting isn't keeping your child sequestered so as not to bother the general public, but to teach them how to interact properly with society. Lesson learned to tonight: Do not trust your 4 year old really know what he wants to eat for dinner. Without even glancing at the menu (with words and no pictures), he states without doubt, hesitation, or any ounce of wavering - that he unequivocally wants a hot dog. Score! They actually have them on the menu. Food ordered and brought to the table, 4 year old looks and sees that tragically! His little brother has been ordered and has received Mac & Cheese. The hot dog is now the most unappealing meal. Ever. After explaining that he has ordered said unappealing hot dog and we will not be ordering him anything different, he slinks to a spot between Daddy and baby, assumingly hoping to steal some Mac & Cheese while we aren't paying attention. At this moment, the manager does his forced visit (no manager visit during your meal? $10 off your next one), compliments us on an adorable baby (required courtesies even though our baby is adorable), and notices a seeming professional pouting pre-schooler. He asks what the issue is. We explain the totally I appealing hot dog story, and there's nothing wrong with the hot dog, he will live, this is a life lesson thing. The manager states he wants everyone to enjoy their dinner, even the smallest members and insists on bringing our now smiling and overjoyed and thankfully using his manners and thanking the manager son his very own Mac & Cheese. Of which, he ate it all. So, although the food is mediocre, and it's a chain, and all that jazz, we thought the manager did a great job in making sure all his customers were satisfied, even the smallest, usually ignored ones. Kudos, Mr. Manager!

Ew. When you walk into this Applebee's, it's just grimy. I went here with a large group (8 total) and we were lucky to get the large table - it was the only one available at 9pm on a Thursday. We came mostly for the drink specials - everything is "2 for 1". This is one thing that really annoyed me. Lots of places have 2 for 1 specials, normally around 4-7pm. Not at Applebee's. Here it's 2 for 1 24/7. Okay, that would be cool - if it was a special. But what you get instead are two huge drinks set in front of you at the same time. It's just so unenjoyable to know that you have to chug your first so your beer isn't warm by the time you start your second mug. And it's not like you actually get a discount, either. I ordered a dragonfruit mojito to start. It came out to be able $8-9 for the (unexpected) two, but I am almost certain that the syrup flavoring was pure corn syrup. And I had no idea that it was 2 for 1; I really just wanted to try one, not slog my way through two gigantic glasses of the stuff. Also, the mint leaves were not muddled; they were thrown in as an accidental garnish. And they were entirely too sweet and overloaded with ice. The food was no different. We had a sampler with fried chicken, "queso", spinach and cheese dip and salsa. I swear, this place goes out of its way to find the lowest quality cheese possible, and then adds water to it. The queso makes me nauseous just thinking about it. The fried chicken was on the same par as McDonalds, except overfried. The chips ranged in being not salty at all to extremely salty. The spinach dip was a nonevent. We did get resupplied with additional chips, though. The bathrooms could have used a good scrubbing; it was just a little bit too grimy. On the bright side, our server was nice - a guy fresh out of high school - but our drinks also went empty a few times. This place was pretty packed and I really don't understand why. I pray that our group of friends doesn't pick this place again. Ew.

Never going back. Service was poor, was told wine and beer were 2-4-1, yet the wine I chose suddenly was NOT included, nor was I told that up front. Steak was so tough I had to saw it, ordered it medium rare, came more raw. Was supposed to be marinated in garlic, no garlic at all; was supposed to come with sauteed onions, the onions were slapped on a flattop, dry, half burnt, half raw. Manager is supposed to visit before you get the check or they give you a $10 off coupon - never happened. Waitress never came by to ask how things were until after we were done and ready to go. That was the last money Applebee's will get from me; I'd rather have a hotdog from Sam's Club than eat there again.

We went here twice. Once last year after a church event. This place has got to be the worse restaurant I have ever been too. Wait... then again the second worse. The wait was well into 3 hours and they would tell us another 15 and another 15. It was the pits. At one point we all left to go to the nearby ice cream place for a snack and came back. They were sort of busy but still we were accommodating and didn't have to all sit at one table as we explained numerous times. No one apologized. Then lets get to the food. Seriously horrible. My friend, myself, and the 3 people I car pulled with from Orlando, all did not like our food. We left a note on the table explaining the tip (no refills, never asked how was the food... nothing), and we didn't bother to see a manager. It was already going on 1am. We left to Orlando, and stopped at Denny's were service was MUCH better and Tastier (near the on ramp to highway). I had bad food at the Applebee's on 436 in Altamonte as well, but MUCH better service. Still I am done with Applebee's in general all together. This experience we still sort of laugh about amongst us guys about how wild and crazy this night went, but none of us will return to any Applebee's unless we know someone close and they recommend a particular Applebee's AND a food item as well worth spending money on.

I guess we got lucky. Showed up on a Sunday when all the churches are getting out, expecting horrible service and a long wait...It's Ocala...the bible belt stops at the southern tip of Marion Co., so if you're not wearing church clothes or dressed in full "horse" attire, they look at you like you turned off the wrong exit. We were sat immediately. Our waiter, Kevin, was funny, personable, in a great mood, interacted with my kids, our food came quickly, cooked perfectly...all around a perfect lunch. My 8 yr old triplets couldn't compliment the experience enough and eight year olds know everything, just ask them.

We went to Applebee's Ocala tonight . 4 adults and 2 kids. Terrible Service!!! Ordered mozzarella sticks appitzer. Never got it. Delivering my beer, he sloshed it out and never wiped it up, or offered. Wife's burger looked like it was pieced together, and glued together with the cheese. One star. Manager never came around to see how things were until I went looking for him.

The first time, I ever walk in, was a welcome greeting. They hold the door, for my four people family. Don't count your eggs before they hatch on this one (speaking metaphorically of course) This, does not always happen. Perfect for the whole family. TV and WIFI. For someone who does not play on electronics all too often, at least for my sake, there's TV with sports. My opinion on the noise level, is I'll will give it, average. Caution, don't come here during sport season, its average level will rise to the above average. Food Quality and Pricing: Pretty Good. Most People who even honest when reviewing think the food is like frozen TV dinners, of course I disagree with. The only biggest mistake, they should never have done, is get rid of the Spiral Potato Twisters served with spicy queso blaco and fresh homemade pico de gallo. More then any app, you could get on the menu. Two Helpings of Cheese Sticks is still less. My family and I really LOVE the 2 for $20 Menu. I REALLY RECOMEDED to a Family of 2 or if your on a tight budget for food. When my mother, order a sirloin requested it, RARE, it became WELL DONE. What....? 4-Cheese Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders is pretty good. "Honey pepper balances the richness of this dish by giving a sweet and savory flavor to our breaded chicken tenders. They're served atop a mound of our indulgent 4-Cheese Mac & Cheese loaded with Applewood smoked bacon." Bathroom and Service: I don't know about the bathroom, but I assume for your and our sake, its great, 10/10 or at least 8/10. I don't ever go. No reason, I just go. Service is great, but they need maybe a better cook when cooking, the bourbon sirloin is normally not at the temperature, you want. I HIGHLY NOT RECOMEDNED getting the steak.

This Applebees was wonderful for my friend and I as it was the only place open after driving from a late football game. The staff was very friendly, the service was quick and I got to order a 2 for 1 Margarita at 12:30 am, which is always OK in my book. I ordered the quesadillas, which were delicious\, but the only downfall is that there no guacamole. Otherwise, if I ever find myself in Ocala, late at night again, I'll make sure to make my way to this establishment.

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.

Otherwise, if I ever find myself in Ocala, late at night again, I'll make sure to make my way to this establishment.
