My mother has eaten at the TF on Sunrise and was underwhelmed, but we got a 2-for-1 coupon for this new location and decided to give the chain another try. We won't be back. The pros: One star for decent queso (although how hard is it to screw up melted Velveeta) and chips One star for nice people The cons: Everything else. The food was mediocre to just plain not good. This is Tex-Mex that has been dumbed down for uninspired palates. The flavors are bland, the presentation cheap. We had a chimichanga, which is supposed to be fried nice and crisp. This one was just a doughy tortilla wrapped around (and around and around and around; there's more tortilla than anything else) the flavorless filling. My burrito was mediocre as well... not BAD, but definitely not good. Mostly bland and feels like a brick in my stomach. Rice and beans were just plain gross. Basic "spanish" style rice and congealed refried beans. Both arrived cold for some strange reason. Both pretty flavorless as well. I've read other reviews about the "amazing" salsa bar. But this is just a sea of pumps that dispense liquid salsas with ingredients like sugar and corn syrup. There's no fresh salsa, no chopped salsa. The chopped salsa that comes on top of a "wet" burrito is too sweet... it's like they think people need sugary food. Gross. I have no idea how this place has grown into a 72 location chain. I guess it's telling that their locations are all in states that don't know good Mexican from a hole in the ground. This kind of place would be burned to the ground in California or Texas. There's absolutely no reason to eat here when decent Mexican like Zona Fresca or Alegria Tacos are so close.

Wife & I eat here somewhat often. Food is consistently good. Friendly staff who is quick to get a refill or answer any questions. I like the chicken floutas and the tacos. Love the hot sauce bar. Never been let down by this location.

The Salsa Bar earns this concept and store an extra star. The chicken chimichanga and quesadilla were so-so, fresh but bland. Yet the taste deficit is easily overcome by the Salsa Bar with ten pumps so you can try them without fearing someone sneezed on them. I simply took my chimichanga over to the two chipotle sauces on the right and smothered it. The result was quite phenomenal. If you too are addicted to spicy food, this is a reliable eatery. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. They brought refills to the table on our drinks. Overall, a good date-lunch spot with the daughter/princess.

This was my first time visiting this Tijuana Flats location, second time visiting the chain altogether. The way it goes is that they have menus in the front. You can grab one and take it back to your table or just read it there at the front. Once you're ready to order, just go up to the front if you're not there already, and tell them what you want. From that point on, they'll bring everything to you and even clear your table when you're through, although if you want anything extra, you'll have to go to the front again and order. It's pretty nice because you kinda get waiter/bus service without having to pay for it. The service here seems relaxed, but adequate and friendly enough. The food isn't great, but it's good for fast casual and the olives are an interesting twist, I think. They serve beer & wine (including sangria), but not a full bar. They have 15 types of hot sauce available at a station on the side. They give you little paper cups to dispense them into. They also have a few desserts like churros and some sort of chocolate flautas that I haven't tried yet.

If your a teacher you get a free meal and drink today! I had the burrito. They have prompt service and a great layout. It's better than most burrito places. I really like their salsa bar. Be warned the hot salsa is very spicy! The people taking your order take the time to get it right the first time. I will come back again.

We have been here more than a handful of times each worth coming back again, then there was tonight. My wife's nachos were stale (almost as if they were refrigerated), the cheese that we usually take home was runny, the salsa was more like a diced tomato & the guacamole lacked any semblance of flavor. EVERY visit before this has been great. Hopefully they're not under new management & this will be the new norm. Had this been our first visit I guarantee we would never return. We'll try again later.

This location is usually good but tonight...no bueno. My cheese is the consistency of my beer, my salsa tastes like tomato water and the guac...no, ma'am/sir. It is nowhere near guacamole. Additionally, my chips are stale. My fiancé is enjoying his flautas but they're fried so that makes them automatically good. Guess I'll just drink my beer. Tipsy will have to suffice for tonight.

Place is usually on point. Taco Tuesdays you cant beat. I go usually twice a month. Staff is cool. Once and awhile I order to go and it might be a little whack but its still better than Taco Bell!

Always loved going to this place when up at school, usually go to Coconut Creek location when home. This location was a tad disappointing. Staff is friendly and attentive but taco shells were stale. Never had that happen, even on Taco Tuesday. They need to check that before serving. Even more disappointed that I told them they were stale and that I ate them anyway and no one from the kitchen or manager came to explain or apologize.

I'm almost inclined to give this place another star for the great salsa bar and the fact they sell SO MANY hot sauces - if you like your heat - this is an oasis - but I want to go back at least once more. My experience was probably also colored by the fact that I was on a quasi date and enamored with my companion, but the food is also pretty good and quite fresh. I felt the service was also quite good to the point of exceptional - it's a bunch of kids working for what is possibly a chain but they seem to take their jobs seriously and they were very attentive, always smiling and actually helpful.

Went in for teacher hero day---free entree! I got a steak burrito and carnitas burrito. The steak had little meat compared to the carnita. It was served with chips. There are 10 salsa to choose from. It goes from mild/sweet to super hot. Good quality ingredients.

Taco Tuesday's is a term you immediately know if you live around this area in south FL. Tijuana has the best tacos, the best salsa/sauce bar, and the coolest staff. I love tnot only the food, but the artsy atmosphere and fun experience every time we visit. Eat in or dine outside. Great, inexpensive Mex food!

Tiny portions and prices are pretty damn high. Kind of a change from a year ago. Seems like high food costs are affecting everyone. Anyway, last time Ill eat here. 8 bucks and still left hungry. Edit-Got the two taco thing, and it came with tortilla chips, but no salsa. WTF is that?

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
