Love this place, truly a hidden gem. We have been here a few times now and it truly reminds of a small family restaurant , you would somewhere in northern Italy. My last visit , we brought my parents ,who were visiting from out of town . Considering I was born in Firenze and have been Italian all of my life , I had never heard of the house specialty cardereli , a type of meat ball appetizer . It is fantastic , I won't even explain it , you just have to try it yourself. The bruschetta is also very unique ,but just as fantastic. Large crostini topped with all sorts of great cheeses and toppings I personally love the home made paparadelle with Duck Ragu My parents were thoroughly impressed . Fabio the owner and Chef really makes you feel at home, in fact his mother was visiting on one of our visits She welcomed us and added to a real Italian experience.

This place was amazing, simply wonderful. I've never been to Italy but it can't be much better. The "meatballs" are something everyone should try- what a mix of flavors! The chicken Marsala may be the best I've ever tried, but embarrassingly I've only had it at chain restaurants.

Awful. No idea how this place has 4.5 stars!!? Terrible wine (we tried 3 diff glasses), awful service (Adriana was incompetent), antipasti plate was ok at best, and we waited 25 minutes for an a provolona salad. When arrive the provolone was burnt on the outside and uncooked in the middle. It was not at all what it should be! We left upset with our experience before even ordering entrees. As a note the restaurant was not busy, maybe 10 people so no excuse for the delays and bad service. Table olive oil and balsamic are cheap and the bread was hard and flour tasting... Will not come back based on our negative experience this evening.

Would have given this place six stars! We found this gem on recommendation of a colleague. My husband and I are kvelling. We started with the meatball appetizer special. However, calling this dish a meatball is like calling the Sistine Chapel just a painting. (After all, I am talking about Italian cuisine.). This combination of multiple types is salami, five cheeses, mushrooms and bread is one step below heaven. (And I am not typically a big meatball fan.) We followed the appetizer by two of the dinner specials, which we shared. The grouper was pan seared with basil, tomatoes and shrimp. As if the fish wasn't perfect on its own, the veggies and mussels added to the flavors. The veggies had distinctly different flavors and complimented the fish: a spinach dish with cheese, baked tomatoes and a small potato cooked to perfection (obviously with butter). The four mussels were in some sort of white wine cream sauce. All I can say is yum! That was just one of the dishes. We also had fresh pappardelle with mushrooms in a light cream sauce with truffles. I was difficult to eat it without moaning. Obviously, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. We brought a bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner. The corkage was very reasonable. It appeared like they had a wonderful wind selection, and may try one of theirs next time. But the meal went on. We had an apple bread pudding with a caramel sauce, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yes, it was just as good as everything else we had. After dinner, we were served limoncello. A perfect end to a wonderful dining experience. Can't wait to go back.

This place has potential. All of the food we had was very good, conceptually, but the execution was off. One of our meals was overcooked and one was undercooked. I'll chalk this up to a bad night because I know others who have eaten there and really enjoyed it. We started with an order of their meatballs and a bowl of minestrone. The flavors were very good, but they were very undercooked and mushy. I know their meatballs are on the softer side, but the person I was with had been there before and said they were much softer this time around. The minestrone was the star. Great flavors and big healthy bowl's worth. I'd definitely go back for that again. I had a stuffed pork special. Again, flavors were good, but the pork was way over cooked and dry. Once chicken and pork go over, it's gone for good. This was really overcooked. It's a small little place, nice decor, big parking lot, they do breakfast, and everyone is Italian. If this was my first time going, I'd maybe consider going back. But since my guest had a great meal there before and agreed with me on the quality of this meal, I would give it another shot because of that. Consistency is hard to maintain, so we'll see how they do on the next round. If everything was on point, it'd be a 4-5 star establishment with no question. Hoping to update my review next time around.

2.5 Stars. I'm not sure where these other yelpers went, but it's not the same place I went. This is a one room show with metallic furniture. The server/bartender was inattentive and the chicken dish I got was small and shriveled. Prices are what you'd expect to pay in a big comfortable restaurant, not a storefront cafe.
I don't know where the hype came from. Tried it for myself, ordered this terrible mint drink I hate when people try to be all things to all people, just stick to what you're good at. Food was okay.

WOW!!!! One of my friends wanted to meet for dinner here based on some samples she had tried at an event she volunteered at in the community. I had never heard of this place before then but I will never forget it now! We arrived around 6 pm on Friday evening and it was empty and we were seated right away. The waitress shared the specials with us and was very friendly explaining everything. We ordered the meatballs and let me say, THESE ARE BY FAR THE BEST MEATBALLS I HAVE EVER HAD AND MAYBE THE BEST MEATBALLS IN THE WORLD!! They are made with 6 different cheeses and salamis and all kind of magical goodness. They were so good that I ordered two to go to take home to my boyfriend to eat the following day since he wasn't eating meat on Friday. He ate them the next day and immediately texted me to say they were also the best meatballs hes ever had. While we were there, the owner's wife came over to table to greet us and see how everything was. The pasta, salad and wine were all delicious. BY the time we were halfway through dinner, there was not an empty table in the place, and I can see why. I will be back...I need more meatballs!

I finally found Fine Italian Cuisine in Fort Lauderdale! Don't get me wrong.....Ft. Laud has an Italian Restaurant on every other corner....but placing pasta on a dish with some sauce doesn't justify the title of 'Italian Cuisine.' OK...does everyone remember the Mayweather-Paq boxing event in early May? Well, on short notice....everyone decided to come over my house......and within 24 hours, I had to make sure I had enough food to feed about 25 guys and some of the wives. I decided on Italian food......and since Prime Italian (my favorite Italian restaurant -in SoBe) is too far.....and nothing I had tried previously in Italian Cuisine around Ft.Laud had ever impressed me (to say the least)....I decided to check Yelp. Thank you Yelpers!!! High ratings for 'La Cucina Veneziana' and they deserve it...100%!! I called the restaurant...a gentleman transferred me to Fabio (whom I believe is the owner). I spoke to him about the event and the 24 hour notice.....he said no worries. He asked me what kind of dishes I like....and then made some suggestions for large parties....so I went with it. Oh....by the way.....I asked him if he needed a credit card to confirm...he said "you're coming tomorrow right?" Yes.... "I will have it ready for you." That already was very impressive. The following day...about an hour before guests arrived...I drove down Federal Highway....and on the main-floor corner of a larger building, I located the restaurant. Parked the car...Large parking lot.. to pick up only.... around 6:30 pm.....everything was ready....on time...as promised....already packed in large aluminum trays...and scorching hot (as it should be). In a moment.... Fabio introduced himself....spoke a little bit about the anticipation of the fight.....and of course....being Italian....a bit about Italian Futbol....and then had his staff help me out to my car. Now for the most important part.....the food. 5 Stars!!! I can't say enough. The simplest dish....spaghetti..... usually bland in restaurants.... had such amazing flavor. From the lasagna and pasta with seafood....to the meatballs.....I mean everything....flavor-packed. The food was an absolute hit! All night....people were asking me where I ordered from.....and I know some of our guests from that evening have visited the restaurant since the event. It is THAT good. I am looking forward to a nice evening out very soon with the wife...and we'll make it an Anti-Atkins/Carb night and visit this neighborhood gem. I look forward to having the opportunity to dine there....and maybe repost any extras. For now....this is it. Btw....the few moments I was there.....very beautiful setting. Dark wood decor...elegant counters with a glass desert cabinet and a wine showcase. Very Clean. Here is my advice....put on some nice slacks....some fine Italian shoes....a nice Italian (maybe Valentino) dress-shirt and visit La Cucina Veneziana. Great job! Thank you Fabio for making everything so easy on such short notice. I took a risk trying out a new place with so many guests. ...but thanks to Yelp....It was a Hit!!!!! I never give five stars unless all three aspects are in sync: Food, service, and ambience. In that order! This place has it all. Small but not crowded with tables, open kitchen, servers that speak Italian, fantastic specials, and a menu that has something for everyone- we can come here many times and not get bored I'm sure. The food was fantastic; fresh, authentic flavors, and yes- do NOT miss the canderlini. It's not on the menu! Our server was super sweet, and her counter part opened one of the best wines we've ever had, at a $35 (!) price point. We drink a lot of wine, but are not as familiar with Italian regions; thank goodness for this passionate little lady. Don't miss this small neighborhood gem!

IMO, the best Italian restaurant in Ft. Laud. Great combination of good food, good service, and nice atmosphere. Went there w/party of 8 on Friday night. No problem getting reservation ahead of time. Emailed restaurant thru their website and got a response back within the hour. Everybody's meals were excellent. I had rainbow trout w/prosciutto. It was delicious. Service was great too. Will definitely go back, and recommend it highly.

Sometimes you see a restaurant on Yelp with a perfect five star review history and you wonder.. is it really that good? I will add my own five star endorsement to the dozen and more already here. La Cucina Veneziana is quite simply amazing and it really is THAT GOOD! Part of the meal is letting the owner Fabio describe the specials. Even though there's a perfectly good menu, don't make your choice until you've let him go through his monologue explaining what's on the specials board tonight, how he makes it, where the meal comes from and why he makes it the way he does. Yes, he has a wonderful Italian accent but his passion for food is part of the charm. "Oh, I want that!" Then he describes the next special. "Oh no, I want THAT.!" And then another special. "Dammit, now I want THAT!" We finally managed to choose the mussels as our appetizer and I went with the Grigliata Mista which sounds fancy but translates to Mixed Grill. A decent sized flat iron steak and handmade sausage and a flattened chicken breast and his momma's recipe polenta with a grilled onion on top, plus asparagus and zucchini and grilled red peppers. With it arrives a small bowl of chimichurri to give it that small bit of extra ZING to finish off the flavor. See the picture. Even though there is a lot of food, they're more than happy to box up what's left. Do save room for at least a little bit of dessert. I'd recommend the sugar cookies which are anything but boring but are a simple sweetness to finish off the meal. If Alexis is working your table, you're going to have a fantastic time and a really superior meal. They are open for breakfast and lunch too.

Holy Burrata that shit is good. Service was good but a strange method: 1 waitress did drinks and dessert the other did entrees / apps / specials. It was like 1 didn't know the others items ? I'm not a fan of "typical" Italian food, but the food here is anything but typical. It I've been going there on average every 2-3 weeks for the past six months, and the food never ceases to amaze me. It's my favorite restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and I can't think of another that even comes close. Chef Fabio is absolutely masterful, and his staff is warm and friendly. Go there once, and they'll remember your name (even months later) and they will treat you like family. When you go, don't bother looking at the menu. Ask for an order of canederli (Fabio's unique and incredible meatballs) as an appetizer, and have your server tell you about the specials and recommend something based on your tastes. You will NOT be disappointed. La Cucina Veneziana (which I lovingly call LCV) is located at 3471 N Federal Hwy, Oakland Park, FL. on the west side of US-1 north of Oakland Park Blvd. It is on the bottom floor of the Roselli Building which is just south of City Furniture. There are three restaurants on the ground floor - LCV, another Italian restaurant, and Kyojin Japanese Buffet. LCV is the one all the way to the left.
Food is awful! Very bad poor quality ingredients. Reservations were at 7 we were seated at 7:30. If you want great tasting Italian food plus great service and a view: try Serafina. I'm surprised about the 41/2 star reviews because the only memorable thing was how bad this place was.

Pleasantly surprised. The Head Chef Fabio came out to tell us the specials AND how he prepared them. Service. The emotion that he displayed while he described each special had my mouth watering.. I have a little bit of a passion for Italian food and the culture. When my date gave me the choice to choose a place for casual dinning a random weekday night after school, I automatically though of this Italian Cafe as I have always wanted to try it, The service was GREAT, loved the fact that they had actual Italian servers and even the girl who wasn't Italian was very well acquainted with the food, the history and the taste of each dish. I could tell she spend time educating herself with the plated and the taste. Aside from the SERVICE being MARVELOUS, the food was delicious. Out of this world. Make sure you eat here when in Ft. lauderdale. The scallopinni was perfect - best we have ever had. I could not decide between the duck pasta or bruschetta but went for the emanuelle bruschetta. It was more of a pizza than what I imagined but it was tasty and the leftovers made a good breakfast the next day. The restaurant is quaint but done well. Romantic for couples or great for a small group of friends. The only turn off was our waiter. His machismo manner took away from the dining experience. He was not at all helpful when trying to select which entree and even delivered another table's appetizer to us-dropped it off and went to walk away. He did not have that many tables to make a rookie error like that. He made stupid jokes about how great he was throughout our dinner - yuck! The chef was kind and humble. I do recommend this restaurant. Very good Italian food.

Ten Stars!!!! I can't remember the last time I had Italian food so delicious. Venetian taste sensations! I went for late lunch and ordered the All'anitra, which is spaghetti in a delicious duck ragout. I asked for a wine recommendation, and Cristian recommended a white Venetian wine - Grillo / which was amazing and the perfect complement to the meal. The place is small so if you need anything they are there for you.

The owner is very personable and came around to our table many times to talk and check on us during our experience. He even brought a little caprese salad to us while we were waiting for the Rissoto to be made. Friend and I went here for lunch yesterday. It is a cute little cafe. The chef was so welcoming and attentive. He explained his dishes and you could tell his passion for northern Italian cuisine was deep! Appetizers were excellent. I got brucetta for main dish, it was ok. Friend loved veal masala. Wines were excellent. Chef, who was also waiter, had to leave halfway through our meal. Sadly, the service drastically took a turn for the worse. The other server was rude, distant, and just unpleasant. We finished with tiramisu and cappuccinos, both were very good. Overall, it was expensive, but food was good. I would order pasta instead next time.

Oh. My. God! I love good food and there is plenty of it in ft. Lauderdale but nothing like this! I had a special appetizer. Looks like a meatball but it's not. Some kind of salami and cheese concoction. I hate salami. I literally could not stop eating this. The chef personally comes to each table to tell you the specials. We told him to surprise us and boy did he. I can not say enough about this place. This chef should be a celebrity. Literally. One tip, get there early as they do run out of the good stuff around 8-9pm and dress cool. It's a little warm inside.

I went there for lunch with three friends. Being from European descent I was enticed by a salad Niçoise which sounded wonderful. When the salad was served, there were ingredients missing which they brought on a separate dish. Everything about this salad was meager. Yelp does it again, unraveling hidden local gems. This place is nestled in a plaza right next to the double strip joint on US-1, and doesn't seem all that from the outside. The interior however, is quaint, intimate and quite romantic with limited seating. Reservations probably recommended. Our server was great. Charming, knowledgeable about the food, attentive, yet not over-bearing. Even the other server kept an eye on us in case we needed anything, which is rather uncommon these days. Now to the food - We started with the octopus appetizer special. Scrumptious!!! My favorite dish of the night hand down. Light yet bursting with flavors with a creamy melt-in-your-mouth texture. If octopus is your thing, do NOT miss out on that one. Next, we shared the meatballs. Another hit or "orgy in the mouth" as our server aptly put it. For the entrees, I ordered "fagotini" a pear/gorgonzola pasta dish - simple yet amazing. The hubby ordered the trout. Now, I have seen that dish made plenty of times, but never like this. Being a mild tasting fish, it never really wowed me. But when topped with fresh anchovies and capers, the entire plate exploded with beautiful flavors. We paired our meal with a $30 bottle of Italian red wine. Unfortunately I had no room for dessert. I can't wait to try all the other dishes as I was truly impressed and pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended place if you're looking for a great date night spot and in the mood for authentic Italian.

I can't stress enough if you have an open kitchen you better make sure you are following proper policies and procedures. The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. We will definitely be back. What a great place. The food was fantastic. The chef was so sweet and appreciative of our praises. Loses one star because the staff - while dedicated. sweet and caring, just didn't seem to have it together. This was especially true when a large party came in and the rest of us were ignored. Our favorite restaurant, by far! We first went to Fabio's place last year, shortly after he began serving dinner, and habpve never had anything less than an amazing meal. It took a while for the service to meet the quality of the food, but they've finally done it. Go for the one of the specials, or let owner/chef Fabio surprise you. The food somehow seems to get better each time we go, which is now about once a week. Last night, my husband and I both agreed it was probably our best meal ever! He had a craving for a Shrimp Scampi type dish, not on the menu (as it's not Venician cuisine). But Fabio whipped up another orgasmic dinner. I almost didn't want to post this because we like being able to get a table, but everyone needs to know about ths gem. The only negative... The bathroom in the building's lobby has been "under construction" for about a year and a half now, so you have to get on an elevator to use the restroom. Not Fabio's fault, but the building needs to fix that!

Other yelpers are right, the meatballs are out of this world. Each is the size of a raquetball. They're made with a couple meats and cheeses and breadcrumbs and the sauce is a sinfully amazing gravy reduction, not a tomato ragu. I tried to convince them to let me take home enough of the meatball sauce to fill a bathtub so I could immerse myself. I had the chicken soup (delicious but not exceptional) and Carbonara: A true delicious carbonara, not an Americanized alfredo. I loved lunch so much I went again for my second meal that day (but with a different friend). Fabio came over to the table and explained how he made the specials. Both were created through a process of infusions and reductions that he devotes time and care to making home made flavor miracles. My friend had cornish game hen stuffed with sausage and I had duck confit with wine, shallot, and fig reduction. The bruschetta is like a giant garlic bread and is really their version of pizza.

Did you ever visit Panaretto (off 17th Street in Fort Laurderdale)? Well, la cucina Veneziana is from the same chef/owner. Chef Fabio greeted us when we arrived and told us about his decision for selling Panaretto and opening this new place. It was great to hear someone so passionate about what they do -in this case, cooking. He shared with us how he goes to the market every morning and picks out the freshest ingredients. The menu reflects that, as there are few options on the menu but several nightly specials. He even offered to cook things that weren't listed if we gave him an idea of what we 'felt' like having that night. As for our actual meal that night, we ordered the appetizer special... it was almost like a beef carpaccio over a bed of arugula, oil, vinegar and grilled lemon to squeeze over. I ordered ravioli stuffed with 5 different types of mushrooms (portobello, oyster, shitakke, + 2 more I can't remember!) in a creamy white wine sauce. Delish. Husband got the duck ragout pasta. Very unusual, we haven't had a duck ragout anywhere else. So simple and yet the flavor was out of this world. We paired everything with a delicious (and not expensive) bottle of Italian wine. Chef Fabio offered his signature "orancello" digestif after our meal. Think of a limoncello liqueur, but it's orange+cream flavored instead. Bonus treat, the chef's (very Italian) mother was visiting. She was a doll and was very kind and welcoming. I will definitely will be returning. Hats off.

A good friend invited us out for dinner last night and we got to pick. We had been here before and sat at the small bar. We told him how good it was. That night we shared the meatball and the duck ragu. Both had distinct flavors that you could taste without being overpowering. Last night we started with an order of the meatballs again and we were not disappointed. Savory with all ingredients accounted for. Simple and fresh. I had pasta with littleneck clams. The garlic, broth, pasta and clams. Never had it taste like that before. Again simple and fresh and oh so tasty. My partner had lamb shank over risotto. I was lucky enough to get a small taste. Lamb tender, risotto creamy. So glad we have leftovers. We will return many, many more times.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Everything about this place is incredible. It is a more authentic meal than many meals you will eat in Italy! Fabio is so welcoming and shows such passion in describing the specials. The meatball appetizer was the most heavenly meatballs I have ever eaten in my life. The chicken park was perfect and so were the grilled vegetables. The chocolate nutella torte was perfection. Everything about this restaurant makes me want to scream about it for the roof tops but also not to share so that other people don't steal my future potential table!!!! I will be back, very soon, and will make sure to tell everyone else I know. Great date spot, great for a business lunch. Perfect for anyone you want to impress!

Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner... I've never had a bad meal here! I'm very fortunate that my office is in the same building as this hidden gem of a restaurant. As such, I have had the opportunity to visit at all times of the day and guess what? ... It's ALL good. Their cappuccinos are generous and the coffee is authentic. The bread comes fresh every day from the best bakery in Ft. Lauderdale and is not to be missed. Crispy on the outside and soft of the inside, the ciabatta bread here is STELLAR. It happens to be the same bread that they use for Bruschetta so don't pass that up. The eggs come any way you want them and are always tasty. Pasta specials change daily but the most impressive is the Fagottini which are home made pasta purses filled with gorgonzola and pear cooked and served in a creamy gorgonzola sauce. If I had to choose a last meal, this would probably be it! The salad bar has plenty of fresh and healthy options and the ability to "build your own" salad. Soups change daily and are always a delicious option when you are looking for something light. Of course the panini are fantastic. Quality ingredients make the difference here. The Prosciutto is perfect and the cheeses are fresh. The location is a little odd but not hard to find... just next door to Kyogin japanese buffett. You will be happy you went. As a side note, they do have free wi-fi which makes this an excellent meeting place and place to sit and get some work done while sipping on your cappuccino!

I went last night with some friends, party of 3. It happened to be the busiest wednesday they had ever had. There was a large table doing a blind tasting in about 25 wines. Im not sure if this place is bring your own bottle but these guys had a good time. We anted to order a bruschetta which seemed as the strong point of the menu since they had a full page dedicated to them and had some delicious sounding options. Low and behold the restaurant ran out of bread! How you let this happen when it is one of your primary ingredients I don't understand. They were also out of burrata, now I understand this is a small restaurant but all this can be avoided with a little better planning. The food they did have was very good. We had the carpaccio special, a nice salad, the rabbit sauce pasta and a nice pork in mustard sauce. Overall the food was good but service needs a little help specially if this type of busy night is their goal. I would try this place again solely on the food but I would hope they solve the capacity and inventory issues.

Food was good enough to keep this from being a 2. Service was BAD at best. 10 tables, and we felt like we were invisible. 2 waitresses made 10 tables look like 40 tables. We were seated without menus and water for more than 5 minutes. I was served my food almost 5 minutes before my fiance received her food. Desserts sounded delicious, but we passed because we could not wait any longer. Solid food let down by awful service. Fellow yelpers... let me know when they replace their servers, and we will try it again..

Authentic! Chef Fabio (ex-Panaretto) does it again La Cucina Veneziana is the former Panaretto Express - when chef Fabio left Panaretto Pizzeria to work his magic here full time he expanded the menu, upscaled the name and started serving dinners. The Ducati owners group followed him here and we now have 4 weekly meet ups and wonderful meals to review. Those that enjoyed the food at Panaretto will find the menu and recipes (and that crazy great Limoncello cream from Fabio's personal recipe) the same minus the pizza which has been replaced by the bruscetteria addition to the menu. (more on that to follow) Prices are a little less than Panaretto which raised the prices slightly and changed the menu when Fabio left. Authentic! No short cuts here - the Spaghetti Bolognese is the best in town, and the spaghetti carbonara is literally the best I have ever had worldwide and I visit Italy yearly. What's extra nice is Fabio visits our table and makes it clear that if you don't see exactly what you want, just ask and he will make you something special. This sort of service is not unusual in Italy but in the USA under $$$$ you just never see it but the small size of Fabio's restaurant makes really personal service possible. And there is a really nice outdoor seating area with sofas for wine before or coffee after dinner. Things I would especially suggest you consider ordering: The Bruschetta. This is the only "bruschetteria" that I know of in the USA (there must be others but it's a concept that's not common here) Basically think French Bread Pizza - delicious thick crunchy bread with your choice of toppings - anything from buttery mozzarella burrata with tomatoes and basil (like the worlds best caprese!) to melted cheese and meat or whatever your heart desires. Order as dinner or a starter for the table, your wish is his command! The mussels marinara - I like them spicy with some bread and butter for dipping but however you order them they are the best deal on the menu because the appetizer portion is plenty. The Pear stuffed Pasta purses (they have a complicated Italian name which I can't remember) I have had them twice and they are really perfect with a glass of red wine. They are served in a blue cheese type sauce (it might be Gorgonzola, I really don't know) but they are really something special. The Bolognese or Carbonara are worth the trip alone. The Caesar Salad with chicken - Fabio's is as good as it gets. Chicken Parmesan - some people in our group order this weekly. The Gelato - really fresh and the flavors are lovely, it's the perfect end to a great meal. Located in the Roselli building it's a little hard to find and the new name a bit tough to remember (I just tell people to look for the Pure Platinum club, a local landmark which is literally right next door across a parking lot they share) but if you are a fan of seriously authentic Italian food and service at local fare prices, this is the place. Open for breakfast and lunch (I have heard it's good for those as well but I personally have not tried the breakfast. I can vouch for the great lunch sandwiches on that awesome bread) I gave them 5 stars, because there really isn't an area they don't excel in, pretty impressive for a little place like this.

Ok I'm giving it 5. Why, because the service was awesome and they really rolled out the red carpet. Our appetizers were extremely tasty...one was a meatball like cheese and sausage. My dinner was good, veal stew, not great...mostly because the meat being a tad cold and not very tender. But the sauce was spectacular. My wife's dish seafood pasta was top notch. The dessert of tiera misu and orange cello was rich and tasty. We will be back to try some more great dishes.

Nice little authentic Italian place. It might seat 35 people so I'd say reservations are suggested. Like others, I'd caution that the service, while friendly, is very slow. I thought the 2 waitresses were also working in another dining room, but there isn't one--they were that scarce at times. The decor was fine, a little bland but simple and open with all tables and no booths. Avoid sitting in the table that's leaning right up against the display cooler with the bright florescent lights. I felt like I was on display along with the selection of vegetables in there--they should really eliminate or cover that fridge, or at least dim the lighting. The menu has a limited selection (salads, fresh pasta, scaloppine and bruschetta, plus a few specials) but very appropriate for a place like this and the 3 items I ordered were very good and all made with fresh and simple ingredients. Caesar salad as a starter, dressed just right and great flavor. Chicken Scaloppine Marsala with fresh veggies was amazing, the marsala sauce was more like a broth than a heavy gravy and it was divine. Finally the tiramasu was quite good, but a little more pudding-like than the cake style I'm used to. All in all very good food and will return despite the slow service. It was refreshing to find a place that has the owners in the kitchen cooking and preparing each meal. It looked like a family running the kitchen. It definitely felt and tasted authentic.

Amazing chicken piccatta -- homemade bread. Not much of a view but great atmosphere. Turkey panini also delicious. I am Italian American and take my Italian food very seriously - all right too seriously - but this restaurant was magnifico! We had dinner there as well. Yes yes yes and yes! Happened to be in the area after reading the excellent Clean Plate Charlie review so we popped in. We loved it all! Small wine list was well priced, the huge selection of bruschetta was impressive, and the the specials all sounded better than the next. We chose the burrata bruschetta - the cheese was soft and creamy and had great flavor and texture. The portion was huge so we took some home and had it for a snack the next day (it was just as good). We split the gorgonzola pear pasta purses in a cream sauce - what a unique flavor and so fresh!! Service was fantastic and the owner came out several times to check on all the tables between cooking. Great experience and we can't wait to go back for more!

I really like this place. It has the quality of a high priced restaurant, but the prices are very reasonable. I've been here about three times now and it's been great every time. I also like the fact that they deliver (although I've always come into the restaurant to eat so far). I've traveled to Northern Italy several times, and this place seems very authentic to me. I'd also say it's better than most restaurants in Italy that I've been to. Some of my favorites include the carbonara, the mascarpone and prosciutto panini, the eggplant parmagiana, and the mussels. Getting the burrata to start is also recommended. All of the ingredients are very fresh and expertly prepared here. The last time I was here, the owner also gave us a free sample of homemade orangecello (sort of a twist on the traditional limoncello). It was delicious. I would recommend coming here for lunch or dinner and ordering anything off the menu because it's all good.

Wow, what a find. From the moment you enter, you are welcomed into this restaurant as if it was Fabio's home. Fabio the owner and head chef, comes to your table and describes each dish with an amazing passion for his art. Authentic & Traditional Italian (I am Italian), Unique and Mouth Watering are key words in describing his amazing food. Alexis was our waitress. Waitresses were knowledgeable, friendly and happy; service was excellent. We had the Antipasto All'Italiana for 2 really nice butcher board with cheeses, meats and bread, Traditional Venetian Bruschetta -- there is a full page of the menu dedicated to wonderful combinations flavors that complement each other to create a unique and delicious experience. The Ciabatta bread used for the Bruschetta and served with other dishes is excellent and really enhances the meal with flavor and texture. My husband really enjoyed the Paradella pasta with duck ragot -- a specialty of the house. I had one of the specials, Fagottini - pasta purses - made with gorgonzola and pear: these dishes were really delicious. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, for dessert we enjoyed a pear stuffed with almond paste and chocolate flan, cappuccino was great (but served dangerously hot) as well. Prices are reasonable; the meal was a wonderful experience; we will go back and would recommend it. **** Update, second visit, Fri, Oct 11, sadly not as good. We had reservations, restaurant was as busy as it was the week before, we had a different waitress. We ordered appetizers, bruschetta, and main course. The waitress asked how we wanted the food brought out, and we advised just as listed above. My appetizer came out first -- I only ordered it so that my husband wasn't eating his alone -- about 7 mins later his came out (mussels, he said they were excellent) and the brushetta at the same time. The bruschetta ended up limp and cold by the time we were ready to eat it, so we didn't. Our main courses came out, pasta was salty and undercooked. Service wasn't great and there was a tension in the room. We left not really having enjoyed the meal, not wanting dessert, and were actually annoyed. So I guess I have to say this place is hit or miss -- when they are on their A Game -- they were 5 Star Awesome!

Read the reviews so we gave it a try. In a word, SPECTACULAR!! This place is a diamond in the rough. It's the best Northern Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The food is outstanding and the overall experience is a delight. Fabio is a master chef who happens to also be the owner. Wish I had discovered this restaurant earlier. Tip: Order the bruschetta. You'll feel like you died and went to heaven.

For those who liked the old Panaretto off 17th street will love La Cucina Veneziana. The owner has taken his true Italian cuisine over to this new restaurant. It is like a trip to that off the beat and path family restaurant in Italy. From the owner / chef stopping by to go over the menu with passion to the choices of authentic italian dishes, this is a true italian restaurant. I had the Chicken Marsala with its pounded thin chicken with just the right amount of marsala sauce along with pasta... it was great. My wife had the spaghetti bolognese, a favorite of hers from Panaretto.. A generous portion of pasta loaded with meat sauce.

My wife and I ate dinner here last Saturday and she gave it a well deserved 5 stars the next morning. We enjoyed our dinner so much we decided to return for another meal the following Friday before our return to NY. What a difference a night makes. As we walked in we saw the place was busy. Alexis, our excellent waitress from our previous visit was taking care of a large, multi-generational group of about 12-16. She stopped to greet us, I told her we had a 7:30 reservation and she gestured with her head to a small bare table with nothing but a tablecloth on it and said "that's your table". I was ok with that, this isn't a formal place, plus they were busy, so we sat ourselves and eventually another (older, very pleasant) waitress came with glasses, silverware and napkins, and one menu for us to share. Again, busy night, "I'll try to find you another menu". Which she did. In most of the previous reviews people mention the charm of the chef coming out to describe the menu. This took place our first visit, not tonight. Again, very busy and I believe that's when the chef belongs in the kitchen. We ordered two half portions of the excellent bruschetta to share, one appetizer each and one pasta course each. The waitress asked if that's how we wanted the food brought out and we were very clear we wanted it in that order. After a fairly long wait the apps arrived first (before the bruschetta). Okay, again, busy. My wife was enjoying her salad and I was about 1/4 of the way into an excellent mussels dish when the waitress appeared with the bruschetta and plopped that down on the table. Not wanting to eat cold mussels (disgusting) I finished them then ate limp, soggy bruschetta which was a shame because they were excellent on our previous visit. This was followed by two overly salty pasta courses (carbonara and bolognese) after which, our disappointment obvious, we decided to end our experience without coffee or dessert. Perhaps our waitress, who was there on our first visit but in a more supporting role, is more suited to that type of food runner work rather than a lead. Perhaps they need a little more help on Friday nights. I do feel the three star rating is as well deserved as the five we gave it last week. Our sub par second visit not withstanding, the food was so good the first time that if we're in the area again I would definitely give it a third try.

Love this place, truly a hidden gem. We have been here a few times now and it truly reminds of a small family restaurant , you would somewhere in northern Italy. My last visit , we brought my parents ,who were visiting from out of town . Considering I was born in Firenze and have been Italian all of my life , I had never heard of the house specialty cardereli , a type of meat ball appetizer . It is fantastic , I won't even explain it , you just have to try it yourself. The bruschetta is also very unique ,but just as fantastic. Large crostini topped with all sorts of great cheeses and toppings I personally love the home made paparadelle with Duck Ragu My parents were thoroughly impressed . Fabio the owner and Chef really makes you feel at home, in fact his mother was visiting on one of our visits She welcomed us and added to a real Italian experience.

Awful. No idea how this place has 4.5 stars!!? Terrible wine (we tried 3 diff glasses), awful service (Adriana was incompetent), antipasti plate was ok at best, and we waited 25 minutes for an a provolona salad. When arrive the provolone was burnt on the outside and uncooked in the middle. It was not at all what it should be! We left upset with our experience before even ordering entrees. As a note the restaurant was not busy, maybe 10 people so no excuse for the delays and bad service. Table olive oil and balsamic are cheap and the bread was hard and flour tasting... Will not come back based on our negative experience this evening.

Would have given this place six stars! We found this gem on recommendation of a colleague. My husband and I are kvelling. We started with the meatball appetizer special. However, calling this dish a meatball is like calling the Sistine Chapel just a painting. (After all, I am talking about Italian cuisine.). This combination of multiple types is salami, five cheeses, mushrooms and bread is one step below heaven. (And I am not typically a big meatball fan.) We followed the appetizer by two of the dinner specials, which we shared. The grouper was pan seared with basil, tomatoes and shrimp. As if the fish wasn't perfect on its own, the veggies and mussels added to the flavors. The veggies had distinctly different flavors and complimented the fish: a spinach dish with cheese, baked tomatoes and a small potato cooked to perfection (obviously with butter). The four mussels were in some sort of white wine cream sauce. All I can say is yum! That was just one of the dishes. We also had fresh pappardelle with mushrooms in a light cream sauce with truffles. I was difficult to eat it without moaning. Obviously, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. We brought a bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner. The corkage was very reasonable. It appeared like they had a wonderful wind selection, and may try one of theirs next time. But the meal went on. We had an apple bread pudding with a caramel sauce, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yes, it was just as good as everything else we had. After dinner, we were served limoncello. A perfect end to a wonderful dining experience. Can't wait to go back.

This place has potential. All of the food we had was very good, conceptually, but the execution was off. One of our meals was overcooked and one was undercooked. I'll chalk this up to a bad night because I know others who have eaten there and really enjoyed it. We started with an order of their meatballs and a bowl of minestrone. The flavors were very good, but they were very undercooked and mushy. I know their meatballs are on the softer side, but the person I was with had been there before and said they were much softer this time around. The minestrone was the star. Great flavors and big healthy bowl's worth. I'd definitely go back for that again. I had a stuffed pork special. Again, flavors were good, but the pork was way over cooked and dry. Once chicken and pork go over, it's gone for good. This was really overcooked. It's a small little place, nice decor, big parking lot, they do breakfast, and everyone is Italian. If this was my first time going, I'd maybe consider going back. But since my guest had a great meal there before and agreed with me on the quality of this meal, I would give it another shot because of that. Consistency is hard to maintain, so we'll see how they do on the next round. If everything was on point, it'd be a 4-5 star establishment with no question. Hoping to update my review next time around.

2.5 Stars. I'm not sure where these other yelpers went, but it's not the same place I went. This is a one room show with metallic furniture. The server/bartender was inattentive and the chicken dish I got was small and shriveled. Prices are what you'd expect to pay in a big comfortable restaurant, not a storefront cafe.

My boyfriend and I decided to come here after rave reviews from my boss who says La Cucina Veneziana is her favorite Italian spot. I'm not sure I will be siding with her as I have definitely had better Italian food. That being said, my meal was good... just not great. We were immediately seated and even had 3 staff members waiting on us which was nice. We had the menu explained to us thoroughly by one of the waitresses- this was greatly appreciated as a lot of the dish titles were in Italian. I also really like how cute and quaint the restaurant is. We decided to start our meal with an appetizer of their canerdeli. OH MY GOD. Those were the most heavenly meat balls that have ever been in my mouth. I don't think I've ever tasted anything like them. I wish I had ordered 2 plates of them and had them as my main dish. They were sooooo so so good- albeit a little bit on the expensive side as they were $14 for only 2 meat balls with a few slices of toasted bread. For my entrée I ordered the highly praised Duck Ragu. Not gonna lie, I wasn't a fan at all. It tasted like tuna casserole to me. The chopped up duck meat actually reminded me of tuna from the can. It even had a fishy taste! The noodles themselves were pretty good but I just couldn't get over the fact that they reminded me of noodles used in tuna casserole :(. My boyfriend ordered the pasta vongole (sp?)- a clam, white wine sauce over spaghetti. I tried his and really liked it, but that may have been because it tasted like straight up white wine... not sure any of it was cooked out. We opted out of dessert as we were too full. I really wanted to try their tiramisu though. They did offer us both lemoncello shots- they were too strong for my taste and my boyfriend doesn't drink. I would like to give La Cucina Veneziana another chance in the future. I've heard their Bruschettas are where it's at, so maybe I'll give those a try in the future. Definitely no more duck ragu for me! Ew. Bring on the canerdeli though!!!

WOW!!!! One of my friends wanted to meet for dinner here based on some samples she had tried at an event she volunteered at in the community. I had never heard of this place before then but I will never forget it now! We arrived around 6 pm on Friday evening and it was empty and we were seated right away. The waitress shared the specials with us and was very friendly explaining everything. We ordered the meatballs and let me say, THESE ARE BY FAR THE BEST MEATBALLS I HAVE EVER HAD AND MAYBE THE BEST MEATBALLS IN THE WORLD!! They are made with 6 different cheeses and salamis and all kind of magical goodness. They were so good that I ordered two to go to take home to my boyfriend to eat the following day since he wasn't eating meat on Friday. He ate them the next day and immediately texted me to say they were also the best meatballs hes ever had. While we were there, the owner's wife came over to table to greet us and see how everything was. The pasta, salad and wine were all delicious. BY the time we were halfway through dinner, there was not an empty table in the place, and I can see why. I will be back...I need more meatballs!

I finally found Fine Italian Cuisine in Fort Lauderdale! Don't get me wrong.....Ft. Laud has an Italian Restaurant on every other corner....but placing pasta on a dish with some sauce doesn't justify the title of 'Italian Cuisine.' OK...does everyone remember the Mayweather-Paq boxing event in early May? Well, on short notice....everyone decided to come over my house......and within 24 hours, I had to make sure I had enough food to feed about 25 guys and some of the wives. I decided on Italian food......and since Prime Italian (my favorite Italian restaurant -in SoBe) is too far.....and nothing I had tried previously in Italian Cuisine around Ft.Laud had ever impressed me (to say the least)....I decided to check Yelp. Thank you Yelpers!!! High ratings for 'La Cucina Veneziana' and they deserve it...100%!! I called the restaurant...a gentleman transferred me to Fabio (whom I believe is the owner). I spoke to him about the event and the 24 hour notice.....he said no worries. He asked me what kind of dishes I like....and then made some suggestions for large parties....so I went with it. Oh....by the way.....I asked him if he needed a credit card to confirm...he said "you're coming tomorrow right?" Yes.... "I will have it ready for you." That already was very impressive. The following day...about an hour before guests arrived...I drove down Federal Highway....and on the main-floor corner of a larger building, I located the restaurant. Parked the car...Large parking lot.. to pick up only.... around 6:30 pm.....everything was ready....on time...as promised....already packed in large aluminum trays...and scorching hot (as it should be). In a moment.... Fabio introduced himself....spoke a little bit about the anticipation of the fight.....and of course....being Italian....a bit about Italian Futbol....and then had his staff help me out to my car. Now for the most important part.....the food. 5 Stars!!! I can't say enough. The simplest dish....spaghetti..... usually bland in restaurants.... had such amazing flavor. From the lasagna and pasta with seafood....to the meatballs.....I mean everything....flavor-packed. The food was an absolute hit! All night....people were asking me where I ordered from.....and I know some of our guests from that evening have visited the restaurant since the event. It is THAT good. I am looking forward to a nice evening out very soon with the wife...and we'll make it an Anti-Atkins/Carb night and visit this neighborhood gem. I look forward to having the opportunity to dine there....and maybe repost any extras. For now....this is it. Btw....the few moments I was there.....very beautiful setting. Dark wood decor...elegant counters with a glass desert cabinet and a wine showcase. Very Clean. Here is my advice....put on some nice slacks....some fine Italian shoes....a nice Italian (maybe Valentino) dress-shirt and visit La Cucina Veneziana. Great job! Thank you Fabio for making everything so easy on such short notice. I took a risk trying out a new place with so many guests. ...but thanks to Yelp....It was a Hit!!!!! I never give five stars unless all three aspects are in sync: Food, service, and ambience. In that order! This place has it all. Small but not crowded with tables, open kitchen, servers that speak Italian, fantastic specials, and a menu that has something for everyone- we can come here many times and not get bored I'm sure. The food was fantastic; fresh, authentic flavors, and yes- do NOT miss the canderlini. It's not on the menu! Our server was super sweet, and her counter part opened one of the best wines we've ever had, at a $35 (!) price point. We drink a lot of wine, but are not as familiar with Italian regions; thank goodness for this passionate little lady. Don't miss this small neighborhood gem!

IMO, the best Italian restaurant in Ft. Laud. Great combination of good food, good service, and nice atmosphere. Went there w/party of 8 on Friday night. No problem getting reservation ahead of time. Emailed restaurant thru their website and got a response back within the hour. Everybody's meals were excellent. I had rainbow trout w/prosciutto. It was delicious. Service was great too. Sometimes you see a restaurant on Yelp with a perfect five star review history and you wonder.. is it really that good? I will add my own five star endorsement to the dozen and more already here. La Cucina Veneziana is quite simply amazing and it really is THAT GOOD! Part of the meal is letting the owner Fabio describe the specials. Even though there's a perfectly good menu, don't make your choice until you've let him go through his monologue explaining what's on the specials board tonight, how he makes it, where the meal comes from and why he makes it the way he does. Yes, he has a wonderful Italian accent but his passion for food is part of the charm. "Oh, I want that!" Then he describes the next special. "Oh no, I want THAT.!" And then another special. "Dammit, now I want THAT!" We finally managed to choose the mussels as our appetizer and I went with the Grigliata Mista which sounds fancy but translates to Mixed Grill. A decent sized flat iron steak and handmade sausage and a flattened chicken breast and his momma's recipe polenta with a grilled onion on top, plus asparagus and zucchini and grilled red peppers. With it arrives a small bowl of chimichurri to give it that small bit of extra ZING to finish off the flavor. See the picture. Even though there is a lot of food, they're more than happy to box up what's left. Do save room for at least a little bit of dessert. I'd recommend the sugar cookies which are anything but boring but are a simple sweetness to finish off the meal. If Alexis is working your table, you're going to have a fantastic time and a really superior meal. They are open for breakfast and lunch too.

Holy Burrata that shit is good. Service was good but a strange method: 1 waitress did drinks and dessert the other did entrees / apps / specials. It was like 1 didn't know the others items ? Food was good : Pulpino , Burrata Bruschetta , Bread Pudding Nice heavy poor of chianti for $8. One complaint : it was pretty warm inside. I guess that bruschetta oven is cranking out heat.

I'm not a fan of "typical" Italian food, but the food here is anything but typical. It I've been going there on average every 2-3 weeks for the past six months, and the food never ceases to amaze me. It's my favorite restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and I can't think of another that even comes close. Chef Fabio is absolutely masterful, and his staff is warm and friendly. Go there once, and they'll remember your name (even months later) and they will treat you like family. When you go, don't bother looking at the menu. Ask for an order of canederli (Fabio's unique and incredible meatballs) as an appetizer, and have your server tell you about the specials and recommend something based on your tastes. You will NOT be disappointed. La Cucina Veneziana (which I lovingly call LCV) is located at 3471 N Federal Hwy, Oakland Park, FL. on the west side of US-1 north of Oakland Park Blvd. It is on the bottom floor of the Roselli Building which is just south of City Furniture. There are three restaurants on the ground floor - LCV, another Italian restaurant, and Kyojin Japanese Buffet. LCV is the one all the way to the left.

I took my girlfriend out for dinner here last Friday. The appetizer, canederli, was absolutely amazing. A perfect blend of flavors and textures that really make your mouth water. This set my expectations very high for the entrée, which was good at best. I had a clam pasta dish with white wine sauce. The spaghetti was great, but the portions were small. Although it was clearly meant to be a simple dish, this was too simple. My girlfriend had the duck linguini dish, she seemed to like it, though she is not usually a fan of duck. I tasted it and it was certainly a unique dish. I would recommend this restaurant, especially the canederli and I would give it another chance at a 5 star rating. From my first experience, I will give no more than 3 stars.

I have a little bit of a passion for Italian food and the culture. When my date gave me the choice to choose a place for casual dinning a random weekday night after school, I automatically though of this Italian Cafe as I have always wanted to try it, The service was GREAT, loved the fact that they had actual Italian servers and even the girl who wasn't Italian was very well acquainted with the food, the history and the taste of each dish. I could tell she spend time educating herself with the plated and the taste. Aside from the SERVICE being MARVELOUS, the food was delicious. Out of this world. The cafe is small and very intimate, yet very casual and full of culture. I plan on being a regular.

Make sure you eat here when in Ft. lauderdale. The scallopinni was perfect - best we have ever had. I could not decide between the duck pasta or bruschetta but went for the emanuelle bruschetta. It was more of a pizza than what I imagined but it was tasty and the leftovers made a good breakfast the next day. The restaurant is quaint but done well. Romantic for couples or great for a small group of friends. The only turn off was our waiter. His machismo manner took away from the dining experience. He was not at all helpful when trying to select which entree and even delivered another table's appetizer to us-dropped it off and went to walk away. He did not have that many tables to make a rookie error like that. He made stupid jokes about how great he was throughout our dinner - yuck! The chef was kind and humble. I do recommend this restaurant. Very good Italian food.

Ten Stars!!!! I can't remember the last time I had Italian food so delicious. Venetian taste sensations! I went for late lunch and ordered the All'anitra, which is spaghetti in a delicious duck ragout. I asked for a wine recommendation, and Cristian recommended a white Venetian wine - Grillo / which was amazing and the perfect complement to the meal. The place is small so if you need anything they are there for you.

The owner is very personable and came around to our table many times to talk and check on us during our experience. He even brought a little caprese salad to us while we were waiting for the Rissoto to be made. Friend and I went here for lunch yesterday. It is a cute little cafe. The chef was so welcoming and attentive. He explained his dishes and you could tell his passion for northern Italian cuisine was deep! Appetizers were excellent. I got brucetta for main dish, it was ok. Friend loved veal masala. Wines were excellent. Chef, who was also waiter, had to leave halfway through our meal. Sadly, the service drastically took a turn for the worse. The other server was rude, distant, and just unpleasant. We finished with tiramisu and cappuccinos, both were very good. Overall, it was expensive, but food was good. I would order pasta instead next time.

Oh. My. God! I love good food and there is plenty of it in ft. Lauderdale but nothing like this! I had a special appetizer. Looks like a meatball but it's not. Some kind of salami and cheese concoction. I hate salami. I literally could not stop eating this. The chef personally comes to each table to tell you the specials. We told him to surprise us and boy did he. I can not say enough about this place. This chef should be a celebrity. Literally. One tip, get there early as they do run out of the good stuff around 8-9pm and dress cool. It's a little warm inside.

When the salad was served, there were ingredients missing which they brought on a separate dish. Everything about this salad was meager. La Cucina Veneziana happens to be a delightful little gem of a real Italian, Northern Italian to be more specific, restaurant. First off, as soon as I walked in, Fabio, the chef/proprietor immediately came over, seated me with a perfect window view table and not only proceeded to give me a detailed explanation of each special dish he was preparing for the evening meal but also an informative explanation as to the ingredients and the culinary techniques he used. Then, my waitress, Alexis, explained to me each of the restaurant's standard menu items. I didn't realize that Veneziana specialized in Northern Italian cuisine but as soon as my main entrée of lemon veal scaloppini arrived I immediately recognized it to be such from my travels throughout the northern Italian regions near Verona. To be sure, however, I later questioned Fabio and, sure enough, he was born just a few miles distance from Verona and it was within that region of Italy that he acquired his culinary talents. If you've had the pleasure of traveling Italy, you know that the ingredients, style and culinary techniques actually go by region and as such vary greatly. Indeed, to say Italian when referring to any particular food of Italy can be entirely undescriptive without mention of the region. For example, one can hardly find anything in far southern Italy that doesn't use a tomato base whereas tomato based main dishes tend to be rather uncommon in northern Italy. Also, at least to my mind, if you want really lousy third rate tasting yucky tasting but exorbitantly expensive Italian food, the place to find that happens to in, of all places, Rome itself. Most of the reason for that being that if you venture into the high rent kitchens of Rome today you are more than likely to encounter cooks, not chefs, , most not native to Rome but rather from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Turkey or other parts of the world. In all fairness, however, I should mention that I may be somewhat prejudice in that of all the cities of Italy, Rome happens to be my least favorite. For Nothern Italian, Veneziana is as good as it gets in Fort Lauderdale and on that basis, Five Stars.

Yelp does it again, unraveling hidden local gems. This place is nestled in a plaza right next to the double strip joint on US-1, and doesn't seem all that from the outside. The interior however, is quaint, intimate and quite romantic with limited seating. Reservations probably recommended. Our server was great. Charming, knowledgeable about the food, attentive, yet not over-bearing. Even the other server kept an eye on us in case we needed anything, which is rather uncommon these days. Now to the food - We started with the octopus appetizer special. Scrumptious!!! My favorite dish of the night hand down. Light yet bursting with flavors with a creamy melt-in-your-mouth texture. If octopus is your thing, do NOT miss out on that one. Next, we shared the meatballs. Another hit or "orgy in the mouth" as our server aptly put it. For the entrees, I ordered "fagotini" a pear/gorgonzola pasta dish - simple yet amazing. The hubby ordered the trout. Now, I have seen that dish made plenty of times, but never like this. Being a mild tasting fish, it never really wowed me. But when topped with fresh anchovies and capers, the entire plate exploded with beautiful flavors. We paired our meal with a $30 bottle of Italian red wine. Unfortunately I had no room for dessert. I can't wait to try all the other dishes as I was truly impressed and pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended place if you're looking for a great date night spot and in the mood for authentic Italian.

This Restaurant is definitely worthy of 5 stars however I took 1 star away due to Employee Practices and food safety violations. I can't stress enough if you have an open kitchen you better make sure you are following proper policies and procedures. The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. We will definitely be back. I just hope that management takes note and retrains the BOH staff. If management contacts me privately I would be happy to elaborate.

What a great place. The food was fantastic. The chef was so sweet and appreciative of our praises. Loses one star because the staff - while dedicated. sweet and caring, just didn't seem to have it together. This was especially true when a large party came in and the rest of us were ignored. Our favorite restaurant, by far! We first went to Fabio's place last year, shortly after he began serving dinner, and habpve never had anything less than an amazing meal. It took a while for the service to meet the quality of the food, but they've finally done it. Go for the one of the specials, or let owner/chef Fabio surprise you. The food somehow seems to get better each time we go, which is now about once a week. Last night, my husband and I both agreed it was probably our best meal ever! He had a craving for a Shrimp Scampi type dish, not on the menu (as it's not Venician cuisine). But Fabio whipped up another orgasmic dinner. I almost didn't want to post this because we like being able to get a table, but everyone needs to know about ths gem. The only negative... The bathroom in the building's lobby has been "under construction" for about a year and a half now, so you have to get on an elevator to use the restroom. Not Fabio's fault, but the building needs to fix that!

Other yelpers are right, the meatballs are out of this world. Each is the size of a raquetball. They're made with a couple meats and cheeses and breadcrumbs and the sauce is a sinfully amazing gravy reduction, not a tomato ragu. I tried to convince them to let me take home enough of the meatball sauce to fill a bathtub so I could immerse myself. I had the chicken soup (delicious but not exceptional) and Carbonara: A true delicious carbonara, not an Americanized alfredo. I loved lunch so much I went again for my second meal that day (but with a different friend). Fabio came over to the table and explained how he made the specials. Both were created through a process of infusions and reductions that he devotes time and care to making home made flavor miracles. My friend had cornish game hen stuffed with sausage and I had duck confit with wine, shallot, and fig reduction. The bruschetta is like a giant garlic bread and is really their version of pizza.

Did you ever visit Panaretto (off 17th Street in Fort Laurderdale)? Well, la cucina Veneziana is from the same chef/owner. Chef Fabio greeted us when we arrived and told us about his decision for selling Panaretto and opening this new place. It was great to hear someone so passionate about what they do -in this case, cooking. He shared with us how he goes to the market every morning and picks out the freshest ingredients. The menu reflects that, as there are few options on the menu but several nightly specials. He even offered to cook things that weren't listed if we gave him an idea of what we 'felt' like having that night. As for our actual meal that night, we ordered the appetizer special... it was almost like a beef carpaccio over a bed of arugula, oil, vinegar and grilled lemon to squeeze over. I ordered ravioli stuffed with 5 different types of mushrooms (portobello, oyster, shitakke, + 2 more I can't remember!) in a creamy white wine sauce. Delish. Husband got the duck ragout pasta. Very unusual, we haven't had a duck ragout anywhere else. So simple and yet the flavor was out of this world. We paired everything with a delicious (and not expensive) bottle of Italian wine. Chef Fabio offered his signature "orancello" digestif after our meal. Think of a limoncello liqueur, but it's orange+cream flavored instead. Bonus treat, the chef's (very Italian) mother was visiting. She was a doll and was very kind and welcoming. I will definitely will be returning. Hats off.

A good friend invited us out for dinner last night and we got to pick. We had been here before and sat at the small bar. We told him how good it was. That night we shared the meatball and the duck ragu. Both had distinct flavors that you could taste without being overpowering. Last night we started with an order of the meatballs again and we were not disappointed. Savory with all ingredients accounted for. Simple and fresh. I had pasta with littleneck clams. The garlic, broth, pasta and clams. Never had it taste like that before. Again simple and fresh and oh so tasty. My partner had lamb shank over risotto. I was lucky enough to get a small taste. Lamb tender, risotto creamy. So glad we have leftovers. We will return many, many more times.

As such, I have had the opportunity to visit at all times of the day and guess what? ... It's ALL good. Their cappuccinos are generous and the coffee is authentic. The bread comes fresh every day from the best bakery in Ft. Lauderdale and is not to be missed. Crispy on the outside and soft of the inside, the ciabatta bread here is STELLAR. It happens to be the same bread that they use for Bruschetta so don't pass that up. The eggs come any way you want them and are always tasty. Pasta specials change daily but the most impressive is the Fagottini which are home made pasta purses filled with gorgonzola and pear cooked and served in a creamy gorgonzola sauce. If I had to choose a last meal, this would probably be it! The salad bar has plenty of fresh and healthy options and the ability to "build your own" salad. Soups change daily and are always a delicious option when you are looking for something light. Of course the panini are fantastic. Quality ingredients make the difference here. The Prosciutto is perfect and the cheeses are fresh. The location is a little odd but not hard to find... just next door to Kyogin japanese buffett. You will be happy you went. As a side note, they do have free wi-fi which makes this an excellent meeting place and place to sit and get some work done while sipping on your cappuccino!

From someone who grew up eating the finest Italian homemade food fresh off the boat...this place is LEGIT! I have tried 3 years to find a place in Ft. Lauderdale that prepares the meals with fresh ingredients, true Italian recipes, and Italian finesse/care. This place is worth every dollar and not overpriced at all for what you get! Plus the chef Fabio always come by to your table.

A hidden gem in Oakland Park. The chef/owner, Fabio, will make you think you're visiting a trattoria in his home town of Verona, Italy. Very authentic and delicious cuisine. Same plaza as Kyojin Buffet. Buon appetito!

I went last night with some friends, party of 3. It happened to be the busiest wednesday they had ever had. There was a large table doing a blind tasting in about 25 wines. Im not sure if this place is bring your own bottle but these guys had a good time. We anted to order a bruschetta which seemed as the strong point of the menu since they had a full page dedicated to them and had some delicious sounding options. Low and behold the restaurant ran out of bread! How you let this happen when it is one of your primary ingredients I don't understand. They were also out of burrata, now I understand this is a small restaurant but all this can be avoided with a little better planning. The food they did have was very good. We had the carpaccio special, a nice salad, the rabbit sauce pasta and a nice pork in mustard sauce. Overall the food was good but service needs a little help specially if this type of busy night is their goal. I would try this place again solely on the food but I would hope they solve the capacity and inventory issues.

Food was good enough to keep this from being a 2. Service was BAD at best. 10 tables, and we felt like we were invisible. 2 waitresses made 10 tables look like 40 tables. We were seated without menus and water for more than 5 minutes. I was served my food almost 5 minutes before my fiance received her food. Desserts sounded delicious, but we passed because we could not wait any longer. Solid food let down by awful service. Fellow yelpers... let me know when they replace their servers, and we will try it again..

Delightful. A true gem. Fabio explained each item in detail beautifully. This was one of the highlights in Ft. Lauderdale. It is a very small place with minimal signage but the personal attention and well prepared food were worth the search. The caesar salad alone is worth the trip.

Authentic! Chef Fabio (ex-Panaretto) does it again La Cucina Veneziana is the former Panaretto Express - when chef Fabio left Panaretto Pizzeria to work his magic here full time he expanded the menu, upscaled the name and started serving dinners. The Ducati owners group followed him here and we now have 4 weekly meet ups and wonderful meals to review. Those that enjoyed the food at Panaretto will find the menu and recipes (and that crazy great Limoncello cream from Fabio's personal recipe) the same minus the pizza which has been replaced by the bruscetteria addition to the menu. (more on that to follow) Prices are a little less than Panaretto which raised the prices slightly and changed the menu when Fabio left. Authentic! No short cuts here - the Spaghetti Bolognese is the best in town, and the spaghetti carbonara is literally the best I have ever had worldwide and I visit Italy yearly. What's extra nice is Fabio visits our table and makes it clear that if you don't see exactly what you want, just ask and he will make you something special. This sort of service is not unusual in Italy but in the USA under $$$$ you just never see it but the small size of Fabio's restaurant makes really personal service possible. And there is a really nice outdoor seating area with sofas for wine before or coffee after dinner. Things I would especially suggest you consider ordering: The Bruschetta. This is the only "bruschetteria" that I know of in the USA (there must be others but it's a concept that's not common here) Basically think French Bread Pizza - delicious thick crunchy bread with your choice of toppings - anything from buttery mozzarella burrata with tomatoes and basil (like the worlds best caprese!) to melted cheese and meat or whatever your heart desires. Order as dinner or a starter for the table, your wish is his command! The mussels marinara - I like them spicy with some bread and butter for dipping but however you order them they are the best deal on the menu because the appetizer portion is plenty. The Pear stuffed Pasta purses (they have a complicated Italian name which I can't remember) I have had them twice and they are really perfect with a glass of red wine. They are served in a blue cheese type sauce (it might be Gorgonzola, I really don't know) but they are really something special. The Bolognese or Carbonara are worth the trip alone. The Caesar Salad with chicken - Fabio's is as good as it gets. Chicken Parmesan - some people in our group order this weekly. The Gelato - really fresh and the flavors are lovely, it's the perfect end to a great meal. Located in the Roselli building it's a little hard to find and the new name a bit tough to remember (I just tell people to look for the Pure Platinum club, a local landmark which is literally right next door across a parking lot they share) but if you are a fan of seriously authentic Italian food and service at local fare prices, this is the place. Open for breakfast and lunch (I have heard it's good for those as well but I personally have not tried the breakfast. I can vouch for the great lunch sandwiches on that awesome bread) I gave them 5 stars, because there really isn't an area they don't excel in, pretty impressive for a little place like this.

Ok I'm giving it 5. Why, because the service was awesome and they really rolled out the red carpet. Our appetizers were extremely tasty...one was a meatball like cheese and sausage. My dinner was good, veal stew, not great...mostly because the meat being a tad cold and not very tender. But the sauce was spectacular. My wife's dish seafood pasta was top notch. The dessert of tiera misu and orange cello was rich and tasty. We will be back to try some more great dishes.

Nice little authentic Italian place. It might seat 35 people so I'd say reservations are suggested. Like others, I'd caution that the service, while friendly, is very slow. I thought the 2 waitresses were also working in another dining room, but there isn't one--they were that scarce at times. The decor was fine, a little bland but simple and open with all tables and no booths. Avoid sitting in the table that's leaning right up against the display cooler with the bright florescent lights. I felt like I was on display along with the selection of vegetables in there--they should really eliminate or cover that fridge, or at least dim the lighting. The menu has a limited selection (salads, fresh pasta, scaloppine and bruschetta, plus a few specials) but very appropriate for a place like this and the 3 items I ordered were very good and all made with fresh and simple ingredients. Caesar salad as a starter, dressed just right and great flavor. Chicken Scaloppine Marsala with fresh veggies was amazing, the marsala sauce was more like a broth than a heavy gravy and it was divine. Finally the tiramasu was quite good, but a little more pudding-like than the cake style I'm used to. All in all very good food and will return despite the slow service. It was refreshing to find a place that has the owners in the kitchen cooking and preparing each meal. It looked like a family running the kitchen. It definitely felt and tasted authentic.

Amazing chicken piccatta -- homemade bread. Not much of a view but great atmosphere. Turkey panini also delicious. I am Italian American and take my Italian food very seriously - all right too seriously - but this restaurant was magnifico! We had dinner there as well. The chef Fabbio made an appetizer that was out of this world celendi - mamma mia. Service fantastic. prices reasonable --- maybe the best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten in - this side of Italy.

Yes yes yes and yes! Happened to be in the area after reading the excellent Clean Plate Charlie review so we popped in. We loved it all! Small wine list was well priced, the huge selection of bruschetta was impressive, and the the specials all sounded better than the next. We chose the burrata bruschetta - the cheese was soft and creamy and had great flavor and texture. The portion was huge so we took some home and had it for a snack the next day (it was just as good). We split the gorgonzola pear pasta purses in a cream sauce - what a unique flavor and so fresh!! Service was fantastic and the owner came out several times to check on all the tables between cooking. Great experience and we can't wait to go back for more!

I really like this place. It has the quality of a high priced restaurant, but the prices are very reasonable. I've been here about three times now and it's been great every time. I also like the fact that they deliver (although I've always come into the restaurant to eat so far). I've traveled to Northern Italy several times, and this place seems very authentic to me. I'd also say it's better than most restaurants in Italy that I've been to. Some of my favorites include the carbonara, the mascarpone and prosciutto panini, the eggplant parmagiana, and the mussels. Getting the burrata to start is also recommended. All of the ingredients are very fresh and expertly prepared here. The last time I was here, the owner also gave us a free sample of homemade orangecello (sort of a twist on the traditional limoncello). It was delicious. I would recommend coming here for lunch or dinner and ordering anything off the menu because it's all good.

Delizioso! We had to follow Fabio Cracco! La Cucina Veneziana is an intimate experience where you can meet the master chef behind the most authentic and delicious Italian food. My biggest problem is deciding what to eat... I love when Fabio makes me a pastas tasting plate! My husband licks his plate clean of Caesar Salad, Fettuccine Carbonara and/or Chicken Parmesan.

I have been with my boyfriend alla cucina veneziana. we are Italian from Rome. okay at the beginning but when we saw the menu and saw that the pasta Amatriciana, a typical Roman dish was made with becon and not with the guanciale, we realized that it was not a true Italian restaurant remaining very disappointed.

Wow, what a find. From the moment you enter, you are welcomed into this restaurant as if it was Fabio's home. Fabio the owner and head chef, comes to your table and describes each dish with an amazing passion for his art. Authentic & Traditional Italian (I am Italian), Unique and Mouth Watering are key words in describing his amazing food. Alexis was our waitress. Waitresses were knowledgeable, friendly and happy; service was excellent. We had the Antipasto All'Italiana for 2 really nice butcher board with cheeses, meats and bread, Traditional Venetian Bruschetta -- there is a full page of the menu dedicated to wonderful combinations flavors that complement each other to create a unique and delicious experience. The Ciabatta bread used for the Bruschetta and served with other dishes is excellent and really enhances the meal with flavor and texture. My husband really enjoyed the Paradella pasta with duck ragot -- a specialty of the house. I had one of the specials, Fagottini - pasta purses - made with gorgonzola and pear: these dishes were really delicious. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, for dessert we enjoyed a pear stuffed with almond paste and chocolate flan, cappuccino was great (but served dangerously hot) as well. Prices are reasonable; the meal was a wonderful experience; we will go back and would recommend it. **** Update, second visit, Fri, Oct 11, sadly not as good. We had reservations, restaurant was as busy as it was the week before, we had a different waitress. We ordered appetizers, bruschetta, and main course. The waitress asked how we wanted the food brought out, and we advised just as listed above. My appetizer came out first -- I only ordered it so that my husband wasn't eating his alone -- about 7 mins later his came out (mussels, he said they were excellent) and the brushetta at the same time. The bruschetta ended up limp and cold by the time we were ready to eat it, so we didn't. Our main courses came out, pasta was salty and undercooked. Service wasn't great and there was a tension in the room. We left not really having enjoyed the meal, not wanting dessert, and were actually annoyed. So I guess I have to say this place is hit or miss -- when they are on their A Game -- they were 5 Star Awesome!

Read the reviews so we gave it a try. In a word, SPECTACULAR!! This place is a diamond in the rough. It's the best Northern Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The food is outstanding and the overall experience is a delight. Fabio is a master chef who happens to also be the owner. Wish I had discovered this restaurant earlier. Tip: Order the bruschetta. You'll feel like you died and went to heaven.

For those who liked the old Panaretto off 17th street will love La Cucina Veneziana. The owner has taken his true Italian cuisine over to this new restaurant. It is like a trip to that off the beat and path family restaurant in Italy. From the owner / chef stopping by to go over the menu with passion to the choices of authentic italian dishes, this is a true italian restaurant. I had the Chicken Marsala with its pounded thin chicken with just the right amount of marsala sauce along with pasta... it was great. My wife had the spaghetti bolognese, a favorite of hers from Panaretto.. A generous portion of pasta loaded with meat sauce.

My wife and I ate dinner here last Saturday and she gave it a well deserved 5 stars the next morning. We enjoyed our dinner so much we decided to return for another meal the following Friday before our return to NY. What a difference a night makes. As we walked in we saw the place was busy. Alexis, our excellent waitress from our previous visit was taking care of a large, multi-generational group of about 12-16. She stopped to greet us, I told her we had a 7:30 reservation and she gestured with her head to a small bare table with nothing but a tablecloth on it and said "that's your table". I was ok with that, this isn't a formal place, plus they were busy, so we sat ourselves and eventually another (older, very pleasant) waitress came with glasses, silverware and napkins, and one menu for us to share. Again, busy night, "I'll try to find you another menu". Which she did. In most of the previous reviews people mention the charm of the chef coming out to describe the menu. This took place our first visit, not tonight. Again, very busy and I believe that's when the chef belongs in the kitchen. We ordered two half portions of the excellent bruschetta to share, one appetizer each and one pasta course each. The waitress asked if that's how we wanted the food brought out and we were very clear we wanted it in that order. After a fairly long wait the apps arrived first (before the bruschetta). Okay, again, busy. My wife was enjoying her salad and I was about 1/4 of the way into an excellent mussels dish when the waitress appeared with the bruschetta and plopped that down on the table. Not wanting to eat cold mussels (disgusting) I finished them then ate limp, soggy bruschetta which was a shame because they were excellent on our previous visit. This was followed by two overly salty pasta courses (carbonara and bolognese) after which, our disappointment obvious, we decided to end our experience without coffee or dessert. Perhaps our waitress, who was there on our first visit but in a more supporting role, is more suited to that type of food runner work rather than a lead. Perhaps they need a little more help on Friday nights. I do feel the three star rating is as well deserved as the five we gave it last week. Our sub par second visit not withstanding, the food was so good the first time that if we're in the area again I would definitely give it a third try.

This place is super yummy. Their regular menu offers tons of great options, but their specials are awesome. The staff is friendly and eager to make recommendations. You won't be disappointed if you are just grabbing a meal or celebrating a special occasion.
