As of May 2015 I haven't been back many times, but things seem much better now since my last review. I always get the Cuban chop-chop which is your basic arroz con pollo with some lettuce and tomatoes and black beans on top. It's tasty and a good portion. The service staff seems entirely new every time I go back so I don't know if they have a high turnover rate or the place keeps getting sold to new owners, but things seem good overall.

Not so great place. I often notice Management/ownership changes. Chicken is dry. Customer service is so so.

I love chicken kitchen. This location is by far the worst ever. Food isn't very good, and I have gotten sick multiple times eating there. I love the restaurant n wish this location would get its act together since it's the only one near me. Hope they read this and improve! I'll change my review if I ever go back and they get better

Gross. This is the second and last time I go here. Over 20$ wasted. the chicken is cold, bland, and never freshly cooked on the grill. they store it in the fridge, this last time the chicken tasted like it sat in there for days I gagged when I took I bite I couldn't even finish it. I love chicken kitchen to death but skip out on this location, trust me you'll regret it.

I used to come here rather frequently for lunch a few years ago. Now that I'm working in the area again, I decided to grab a bite to eat here. The order went fine, although I'm not a fan of how they limit how much sauce you can have and charge you extra if you want more. Other Chicken Kitchens I've been to have self-serve dispensers... not this one. So I got my food and I headed back to the office to dig in. I took a bite, and it was rubbery. Like, I had to chew far too long on one tiny piece of chicken. Hoping it was an errant piece, I took a few more bites, except the whole thing had the texture of rubber. I just couldn't make myself eat this. Sadly, my nearly $9 meal went completely to waste, and I had to venture back out of the office to find a replacement meal. Thankfully, my dogs aren't nearly as picky about the texture of their food as I am, because they were rather grateful for the chicken when I brought it home. So I'm glad SOMEONE could eat this food, but I certainly couldn't. Knowing how good (well, relatively speaking) their food used to be, it's a shame to see the quality free-fall like this. Sorry, guys, I'm not about to spend another $9 on a meal that my dogs will end up eating instead of me.

Do healthy meals have to be tasteless and boring? Chicken Kitchen's answer to that question is a definitive YES! For taste and creative style this certainly isn't Sublime, not even close to Heart Healthy or anyone of the top or medium quality health conscious places to eat. I do however have to give them credit for cleanliness, friendliness and the freshness of their produce, but basically Chicken Kitchen is little more than a rabbit food/grilled chicken breast place and though bland as it may be, there is an attempt to hop it up with some dressings spices however in my opinion they miss the mark. In general, there are better options.

Horrible place. I decided to try it out for the first time and almost walked out on the food if it wasn't because I had already handed the man my money. First let's start with the food, how is Guacamole gray??? The lettuce were old and brown The rice and beans brown The sour cream wasn't even in ice The meal said it came with a chicken breast yes my server gave me half and put away the other half for another order My meal came with the guacamole, after seeing the color I passed. I asked if I can have beans instead, my server told me it's extra, I said I was asking for a replacement and he proceeded to say that he gave me extra sour cream for the guacamole. I stated that I didn't ask for extra sour cream and why would he do that? He then said we don't do this but "this time" I will. Like he was doing me a favor. My meal was $8.49 and before when went to the register he said its $9.00 with taxes. A flat rate basically because that is not the correct calculation. The service was so horrible and the food even worst. Needless to say I took one bite and had to trash it. The though and sight of the nasty guacamole kept coming back to my head and the horrible service. No wonder this place is always empty.

Waste of $20. Staff wasn't attentive. I should have known by the lack of people inside that the food wasn't going to be good. I got the Mexican chop chop which was flavorless to say the least. The lettuce was old the guacamole what store bought and not fresh and the rice was bland. The chicken which should have been the best part was probably the worst it tasted like chalk if anything at all. Even after adding salt and pepper I decided to throw it away and wasting food is one of my biggest pet peeves. I decided to give them another shot and get the wings, once again huge mistake. They were extremely oily and the oil seemed a bit old. They not only forgot that I wanted flavored wings ....the sauce and the spice was all I could taste, hardly any chicken taste to it . With that said I won't be returning and I advise you not to bother going unless you like flavorless old food and like to waste money.

I've been eating at other locations of Chicken Kitchen and have always loved their food; however, this location is HORRIBLE! They never have fresh chicken on the grill. The chicken is hard, rough and everything else looks disgusting. Staff is terrible. Inattentive, mad and complaining about each other. I will NEVER return there. I haven't been able to eat chicken at all since my last visit there. Yes, that bad! Gag!

I love Chicken Kitchen in my old neighborhood of South Miami, so I figured I would give it a shot here. One word: Scary! I'm surprised I didn't get food poisoning. Never Again.

Chicken kitchen is where you go when you want some tasty, char-grilled chicken on a salad or a bed of rice some some veggies. If you are not looking for those things, it doesn't have much else. I enjoy going here because its a great option for someone trying to work out, drop some weight and still bulk up. Salads fill you up, and the grilled chicken doesn't have too many added calories while providing tons of protein. Chicken kitchen does this well plus their added sauces are great - I highly recommend the chimichurri or yellow sauces just use them sparingly if watching the calories! The reason this place doesn't get more stars from me is because it isn't that affordable. Salads run about $7-10 plus with a drink it bumps it up to $10+ for lunch. My tip would be go to with a friend and bring a buy one get one printed coupon you get from the local circular ads they run. Even with drinks, you can get away with lunch for around $6-8 which is fair.

Unless you come into the shopping plaza at the right entrance you will be driving all around the plaza like we did! Except for the stores facing North Dixie Highway that have the street address of the store on the face of it the rest have Suite numbers. The first suggestion is to enter on the north entrance of the Northridge Plaza. We had a 2-4-1 coupon which brought the total check to $12 and change. I had the Mexican Chop Chop a dish consisting of a layer of grilled chopped chicken on yellow rice and topped with sour cream, guacamole, shredded lettuce and tomatoes ($9.99) while Allen had the single skinless breast platter ($7.99) served with shredded lettuce and tomatoes. We both had fountain Pepsi's. Without the coupon it would have been an expensive proposition for lunch. Everything was fresh, the place was clean and the gentleman working the grill and the woman working the register were pleasant but the bottom line is it was no better, or worse, than the many Tex-Mex, chicken franchisees in Fort Lauderdale.

I used to eat at chicken kitchen 2 or 3 times a week when I lived in south florida and I LOVED it. I was in the area so I decided to stop in when I saw the sign and I was super disappointed. I dont know if it's just this location or if the whole chain has gone downhill but it was terrible. Chicken was cold and tough, rice was cold, and lettuce was wilted. The guy covered it all with sour cream and guac presumably so I wouldn't notice it was all ice cold. There was no chicken cooking on the grill so gone was that delicious fresh grilled chicken smell. They had more than an hour before closing so it's not like I came in when they were trying to close up or something. Also the cheese was thick grated which was kind of odd. They also sold gas station style empanadas. If it didn't have chicken kitchen branding everywhere I might think it was some crappy neighborhood style chicken joint. Also the flashing marquee sign was really annoying. Awful awful awful.

Love their Mexican Chop chop. As it's a chain, no surprises you know what you will get. But it's pricy $7.99 for a medium (though that is large portion) Use a coupon or two people could split a large chop-chop.

There are many chicken grill restaurants, but this is my favorite. The portions are large enough that usually my wife and I will share, and we'll still be full. We usually get the Deluxe Chop. The staff is friendly, and the food is fresh and tasty. What more do you need?

Pretty good food, better than Pollo Tropical and healthier. It is clean and I like the staff. They are friendly and the food is fresh and you can see it being made right before your eyes, just as in Subway.
