This was my 2nd time here and 1st experience and different from this visit. We went here for lunch and though it wasn't busy at all, we waited 5 mins at the table, Just to get a menu. No one came by and I decided to go up to the front area to get it myself, which was upsetting. Then we waited another 10+ mins to order. I understand that there was only 1 waitress but all I ask is to acknowledge we are there and at least tell us you'll be right with us or something. It's all about that customer service! Once we ordered, our food came out pretty fast and didn't have to wait too too long. Once I had that 1st bite...we knew why we were there in the first place! I had the Philly cheesesteak and home fries, the meat was fresh and thinly sliced and cooked to perfection. My husband had the combo Reuben, which he loved! The grilled rye made it taste so good! The slices of corned beef & pastrami was very thin and they pack that sandwich to the fullest! We even had to take it to-go. We would definitely come back for the food but they need to work on the customer service & maybe hire another waitress.

Great find on Yelp! Definitely a real NYC deli, with great menu selection. Try the Reubens, you cant go wrong. Service was good at first with a nice greet and quick drink service. But the place filled up fast for lunch and it slowed down the service. Overall a good find, and would return again.

I had the turkey sandwich on white bread. It was good. The owner made it quickly and was very nice. My only issue was with the potato salad. It needed salt. It tasted like boiled potatoes & mustard. No flavor. Also the price is a bit steep, my sandwich & bottle of water was over $14.

Quality food. Great service. Feels like you are visiting a friend's home. The owner Mike is a really nice guy and his staff is so friendly and work very well as a team. Got an omelette with ham and cheese - very fluffy. Comes with home fries which are really tasty. Got a side of oatmeal - nice and thick texture. Craig got a whitefish platter - ask for extra capers. Includes tomatoes, capers, lettuce, red onions, pickles, Greek olives and sliced lemon. Nice large serving of fish. A must on your breakfast / deli list of restaurants.

I popped in to NY Big Apple Deli completely randomly. My car was having new tires installed and I needed a bite, and there she was in an unassuming strip mall across the street. I ordered an everything bagel with eggs and cheddar cheese with a side of home fries and a coffee. Simple, but delicious - particularly the home fries. And there's just something special about a real egg & cheese sammich. My egg was cooked through and I wish I'd asked for it to be runny, but that's my bad. Ahhhh, the magic of golden, runny yummy egg, coating its surroundings. It's an unparalleled kind of delicious. The coffee was piping hot and fresh and the cream was served out of the fridge, which I appreciate. There's something creepy about a dairy product sitting out all day. The food was good and the price was certainly right, but what really stood out about Big Apple was the friendly staff and amazingly happy feeling from them and the clientele. It really felt like we were all dining together. So cool! Shout out to Michael behind the counter and a really lovely busser who passed out blow-pops to the customers. Bottom Line: destination deli due to its family atmosphere, great prices and yummy food.

The NY Big Apple Deli is the perfect place to get a sandwich or philly. The ruben sandwich is by far the best ruben I have ever had. Ever. Along with the sandwich comes either coleslaw or potato salad. The philly cheesesteak is also a plate that taste delicious. I love trying Philly cheesesteaks where ever I go and this one is definitely at the top of the list. The place itself is a small restaurant with the deli feeling. It can get packed, especially during lunch hours. Depending on your server the service can be really good or mediocre. But, the food makes up for it.... Really.

1st review is for Breakfast only as I have heard the lunch sandwiches are very good. Stopped in completely at random heading down to the Post office in North Miami today. Sit anywhere was their motto.. so selected a table in the annex room. Place is old style Jewish Deli with old photos of sports stadiums adorning the walls. Place needs a serious makeover as the decor and furniture, floors and ceilings have seen better days. Took a while to get coffee which was hot and OK I like it a bit stronger... Special today was the "FRESH" not canned corned beef Hash with 2 eggs, potatoes & Choice of Bagel or Toast. .. Ordered eggs Soft scrambled they were hard & Dry.. Toast was Ice Cold and corn beef hash for $10.99 was lacking everything. .. Potatoes were burnt. Sorry folks but based on the first experience, I have a tough time heading back here for a try at lunch. Waitress was Missing in Action trying to get a check.

Awesome corned beef. I got the Rueben with the potato salad. The corned beef was perhaps the most tender and delicious corned beef I've ever had. The potato salad, though, was mediocre at best. They served pickle spears that are...different. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. My wife had the hot brisket sandwich with fries. The brisket was excellent and the fries were pretty good too. My daughter got the matzo ball soup. Don't tell my mother-in-law, but this place's matzo ball soup is better. I'm mixed on the service. On the whole the service was good, but that was due to the busser. If it was left up to just the waitress, I would have given this place 1-2 stars less. The atmosphere is a bit divey, but there's nothing wrong with that.

I am very critical about food and service, I took my wife out for Breakfast on her Birthday week since she turned 65 and will never be the same! anyway we have tried almost every deli in South Florida and this place surprised the Hell out of me, I ordered the nova platter 11.99 and my wife ordered the whitefish platter 11.99, the presentation and taste was excellent, the bagels where soft ant tasty, service was very good, we will try it again soon when my Brother come for a visit and I will try the Kosher salami and eggs next time, this definitely my new breakfast place unless they screw up and forget their roots!

For a deli the food and service was good. Cleanliness is my main concern. Before my order was taken I saw the chef talking to one of the waitress and as he was speaking he was rubbing his hair and picked his ear.... along with how dirty his shirt and apron was, I became extremely grossed out. (I hope he washed his hands before making my food.) Since it is New York style, if this is what local delis are like in NY then they are spot on. Lol

3.75 stars. Solid deli food served in casual surroundings keep locals streaming in. Located in a Biscayne Boulevard strip mall is NYBAD. Decor consists of NY posters. Beyond that it's all about the food. Service is friendly, though a little scattered. Everyone means well, though, and if you don't want uber-service you'll be happy. Food is typical NY-style Jewish deli: pastrami, corned beef, bagels, egg salad, matzo ball soup and much more. It's all good, for the record. Even the Philly cheese steak was an acceptable version of the south Philly fave, and that's an unexpected surprise from a NY place. Pat's and Geno's need not worry, however. Frankly the only thing that truly bothers me about NYBAD is perception. A perception of clean handling of food. The servers wear a few hats besides serving, like cleaning and busing. That's all ok except they bus a dirty table then pick up your just cooked food without washing their hands. Floors swept, brooms and dustpans engaged to pick up the floor clutter, tables cleaned with wet rags. Then the servers switch roles from cleaner to taking food to tables - all without washing hands. Ugh. Maybe this is the kind of stuff that happens all the time at other restaurants, and maybe I usually don't see it happening, so it's ok. But at NYBAD it all happens in plain sight and I do see it, and I kinda get skeeved out - despite the terrific food. So now you know. Good food with a perception problem. Problem is, my perception is my reality, and those who know me know I keep it real... So I really won't be back despite 3.75 food stars.

I eat at New York's Big Apple Deli about once a week, sometimes once every two weeks. My favorite orders are the Brisket sandwich on rye and a veggie omelet that becomes omnivorous the way I order it. I have them add turkey pastrami to it. I also ask for it to be made with only two eggs, instead of three. Three is just too humongous for me. I don't always go directly home after I eat it, so I can't take a box. Their brisket sandwiches and the aforementioned omelet are delicious! Mike and his staff treat the customers well. Even though he's from N.Y. and I'm from Miami, we discuss my favorite baseball team (The Chicago White Sox) amicably! I do have two complaints: 1. Mike refuses to add anything to the menu. I wish he would include turkey burgers, because they're less fatty than hamburgers. 2. They are only open until 6:00 p.m. M-Th and 3:00 F-Sun. They used to open until 8:00. p.m. Then it was 7:00 p.m. If you want dinner, you have to have early bird.

Just found this place looking for a breakfast at 10AM, I had finished a meeting and I thought, I am hungry... and I want breakfast - and I am in North Miami....??? Now North Miami is a lot of strip malls, and this place just caught my eye. And I have to say the yelpers are right on with the reviews. This place is what Coral Bagels should be.... good. In fact, if you live in the Grove this place compares to Coral Bagels, but it's much better. The staff is nice, the food good (bagels are not too shabby either). I have been back for breakfast twice, and still good!

Small joint on your right heading south on Biscayne blvd. Your typical New York deli looking place, small but comfortable. They have great bagels, delicious egg salad, lox, soups, tuna salad, and more; your traditional bagel shop. I ordered the a bagel with tuna and a side of sliced tomato. The tuna was a bit fishy for my taste, however I must admit the taste of those tomatoes and bagel blended in with the tuna almost destroyed the taste I was a bit unhappy about. They informed me they do catering as well as deliveries. Overall I loved the vibe and plan on going back.

One Saturday afternoon, in search of a light sandwich and diet coke, I stumbled upon New York's Big Apple Deli on Biscayne Boulevard. I was overcome with feelings of nostalgia, hunger and pastrami sandwich cravings... I hadn't ordered an overstuffed warm pastrami sandwich since I was in New York about 6 months ago, so inside my emotions were fluttering! My friend and I sat in the back dining room which was reminiscent of a true New York Deli, and reminded me of Ben's Best on Queens Boulevard. I ordered my pastrami on rye and sat in about 10 long minutes of anticipation. The coleslaw was good! Creamy, sweet, maybe a little too watery, but tasted just the way I like it! The pastrami was decent... it definitely brought back memories of sitting in a New York deli eating a juicy and plump overstuffed sandwich of meaty goodness slathered with spicy mustard, but didn't quite cut it... the meat was a little fatty and not as flavorful as I am used to. Also, I think the pickles were store bought, not the classic New York barrel-paged giant pickles that I grew up eating. Still, if I was ever in the neighborhood had a lunchtime carnivorous craving, I would stop into New York's Big Apple Deli and order one of their overstuffed numbers. Perfection aside, they do serve tasty meat sandwiches rarely found in this Empanada Mecca we know and love as Miami.

I order from this restaurant at least once a week, that has to mean something off the bat. I've experimented across their menu and the food overall is pretty tasty. I don't have any sense of the service because it's delivered. If you order to go, keep to getting a sandwich or salad unless you want to reheat the food yourself. Regardless their deli sandwiches are the best thing on the menu. There's a reason we continue to order from them and its because they give good service and good food. I recommend this place for lunch or breakfast.

I try to make it to the Big Apple Deli often, especially after an early morning run. The location and restaurant venue is a bit inconspicuous and definitively unassuming which can be a turn-off at first (I hate shopping plazas). But sit down for 5 minutes in the front of the house and you'll notice a couple of things. First, every server, busser, and staff person in the restaurant is a character, it makes it fun to people watch. Second, I swear that almost every person that came in early in the morning seemed like a regular, and greeted by name and a kiss. This is all very endearing, but there is a better or at a least complementary treat: the food is straight-forward good. It's not gourmet, it's just plain good. My standard order is the eggs benedict with a delish cup of coffee (only Americano coffee, it can't be a perfect spot!). The French toast is tasty too. I am sure there are not-so-good things but try this place early in the morning and you'll have a good overall experience!

Love this place. The sandwiches are huge, the matzoh ball soup is almost as good as New York, and everything is really fresh. Be prepared for slightly steep prices but you can easily share lunch at this true NY deli.

One Saturday afternoon, in search of a light sandwich and diet coke, I stumbled upon New York's Big Apple Deli on Biscayne Boulevard. I was overcome with feelings of nostalgia, hunger and pastrami sandwich cravings... I hadn't ordered an overstuffed warm pastrami sandwich since I was in New York about 6 months ago, so inside my emotions were fluttering! My friend and I sat in the back dining room which was reminiscent of a true New York Deli, and reminded me of Ben's Best on Queens Boulevard. I ordered my pastrami on rye and sat in about 10 long minutes of anticipation. The coleslaw was good! Creamy, sweet, maybe a little too watery, but tasted just the way I like it! The pastrami was decent... it definitely brought back memories of sitting in a New York deli eating a juicy and plump overstuffed sandwich of meaty goodness slathered with spicy mustard, but didn't quite cut it... the meat was a little fatty and not as flavorful as I am used to. Also, I think the pickles were store bought, not the classic New York barrel-paged giant pickles that I grew up eating. Still, if I was ever in the neighborhood had a lunchtime carnivorous craving, I would stop into New York's Big Apple Deli and order one of their overstuffed numbers. Perfection aside, they do serve tasty meat sandwiches rarely found in this Empanada Mecca we know and love as Miami.

I order from this restaurant at least once a week, that has to mean something off the bat. I've experimented across their menu and the food overall is pretty tasty. I don't have any sense of the service because it's delivered. If you order to go, keep to getting a sandwich or salad unless you want to reheat the food yourself. Regardless their deli sandwiches are the best thing on the menu. There's a reason we continue to order from them and its because they give good service and good food. I recommend this place for lunch or breakfast.

Check the Health dept. Inspections on Local 10 "Dirty Dining" and it will sum this establishment up along with the smell of the sewer plant nearby. The place will make you sick!

I try to make it to the Big Apple Deli often, especially after an early morning run. The location and restaurant venue is a bit inconspicuous and definitively unassuming which can be a turn-off at first (I hate shopping plazas). But sit down for 5 minutes in the front of the house and you'll notice a couple of things. First, every server, busser, and staff person in the restaurant is a character, it makes it fun to people watch. Second, I swear that almost every person that came in early in the morning seemed like a regular, and greeted by name and a kiss. This is all very endearing, but there is a better or at a least complementary treat: the food is straight-forward good. It's not gourmet, it's just plain good. My standard order is the eggs benedict with a delish cup of coffee (only Americano coffee, it can't be a perfect spot!). The French toast is tasty too. I am sure there are not-so-good things but try this place early in the morning and you'll have a good overall experience!

Love this place. The sandwiches are huge, the matzoh ball soup is almost as good as New York, and everything is really fresh. Be prepared for slightly steep prices but you can easily share lunch at this true NY deli.
