Great food, atmosphere, and welcoming for any big party or customer needs! We had a great gathering with my co-workers and the view is amazing!

Terrible place to eat. We went for the brunch for Mother's Day. We expected to have lunch but there were no lunch items. There were crumbles of biscuit, waffles and bagels. The only thing warm in the menu was the omelette that was made on the spot. We paid $20 each for this ripoff. If you want a good brunch go someplace else.

Pretty good locale. Besides that my experience was more frustrating than pleasant. I was at the bar with 3 other guys. It wasn't that busy (it was a Wednesday night) but it was incredibly hard to get a beer (which doesn't seem like a profitable tactic). If you want food you are also going to be frustrated because the bartender cannot take food orders...you have to wait for the one single girl to take the time to actually stop at waves to place an order. And oh by the way, she was awful. I'm sure she's a nice girl but 'bless her heart' she couldn't keep things straight or remember anything to save her life. I eventually got part of my order which was a blackened grouper sandwich...this was awesome. I recommend it. I also ordered some "Dockside Oysters" which were oysters baked with some cheese, bacon, green onions, etc. on top. These were forgotten about thanks to space-cadet but I finally flagged her down again and got some much later. These were awful. Perhaps partly because I was dumb enough to order oysters in August and party because of the crap that was put on top. Yuk

Love this local's place! Food is tasty and reasonably priced. Their Sunday brunch offers a nice variety of food in a relaxed atmosphere. The view of the bayou is lovely and it's a great place to catch the sunset.

Went back last weekend. Still dirty, Slow, Not very hospitable. We sat three feet from the bar. I went to the bar to order a water as it was 108 degrees for the heat index that day. So, Back to the point. I went to the bar with my hands full as I was hungry. Asked for the water. I swear the guy got two little plastic cups out and filled them with water and he went back to what he was doing. I stood there looking at him wondering if he was a good enough service industry employee to realize that I stood in front of him and he placed waters in front of me instead of walking the three feet to deliver the beverages. Oh forgot to mention. We were begging for a water due to the fact that they ran out of tea and were making another pot. Ive been making tea since I was 4. These employees stated that it would be out in a min. So we waited, Waited, Waited. 10 mins. Nothing. She says oh yeah I forgot. Literally said "they are making it"! Ok great we say. Another 10 mins goes by. No tea. Thats the back story for the waters. It just gets me that they cant do that right. Lots of flies. Deck and other areas seem to be falling apart. Only one type of music. So hope thats your fav. You wont find variety in the music here. Hope you like to hear: " My dog died", " My truck blew a tire" Wha wha. You get the picture. Maybe they could try some Margaritaville sirius music channel? Or Led Zeppelin. Even wouldnt mind listening to the local Jazz radio station. BWB has mean average of 55 years old. Like I said, I went back hoping they could pull it together. Very disappointed. They need Bar Rescue to come help this place. PS, Don't eat the popcorn. Or shall I say, Flycorn.

Great view and perfect local bar. But that's where it ends. The food is average. Nothing special. And it's over priced for what you get.

I want to update my previous review. Schooner's has improved some over the past year. So I want to make mention of that . The bar staff has changed, and is far more attentive than they used to be.

This is my favorite place in all of the Emerald Coast. There is truly nowhere like it that I've been. This bar/grill/oyster bar is hidden in the Bluewater Bay neighborhood at the Marina with beautiful views, sunsets and more importantly Beautiful People. When I'm here, I'm at home and so is everyone else. If you're looking for a place to be a regular and treated like a rockstar, this is it. You will get personal service like none other with a down-home feel whether you are a local or not. This is a place for you to be yourself, wind-down and have an awesome conversation with "pick whomever". I can write a novel about the great times I've had at Schooners and I can't wait to move back to Niceville and spend my retirement years with a nice cold Schooner's beer in my hands.

It's ok for a neighborhood joint. Tuna dip was best thing we ate. Happy hour is nice will definitely be back for drinks and tuna dip. Glad it's close to home.

I called 10 minutes before they officially closed to place a to-go order, but they refused to do so. So as of now, I can't write a review on the food. However, customer service doesn't seem like one of their priorities.

Some of the worst food we've had served to us in a restaurant a l-o-n-g time. I normally don't write reviews such as this unless I feel others need to know. While the view is fabulous, I would not recommend consuming anything off the menu. I first ordered a half dozen steamed oysters, when they were brought to the table the smell was SO bad, I wanted to leave the table. My husband thought maybe it was because they were steamed, I've eaten steamed/raw oysters many times & never have they smelled that bad... they didn't look exactly right either. I ate one & decide for health purposes it might be best to leave it at that. So, I then ordered the grouper basket... the fish was sitting in grease & did not taste like fresh or even frozen grouper, ate my fries only! My husband had a small bowl of gumbo that he said was so-so. After looking around, I noticed many were not eating, but just having a few beers! SO, if you want a great view & you're not hungry just have a drink & go some place else to eat!!!

When I first arrived I had a little bit of trouble finding the actual restaurant because it shares space with other businesses. Once inside though its a nice little restaurant. There is a bar that you'll have to get to through a door leading outside. I was here for the first time with 10 other friends one evening and they had no trouble seating us all. However, our waitress was very short with us and not once smiled. She did an O.K. job serving us but she made it feel as though we were inconveniencing her by being there. The food is really good as well. I had a grouper sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. I would probably eat here again but as a last resort. Also, other places are easier to get to because this place is well hidden deep in Niceville.

The best thing about this place was the waitress to be honest. The food was not good and really over priced for what you got. We ordered the tuna, it says it comes rare as tuna should, and this was pretty white, way overcooked. The portions were really small for 20.00 a plate. The location was hard to find because the GPS takes you somewhere else. I think if you want a really good seafood dinner try somewhere else, 80 bucks and we were still hungry when we left and very disappointed. The place itself is pretty dumpy, crappy little strip of a restaurant. We could barely see out the windows, but it kind of felt like the old school Wendys where they had the seats in the front by the glass. There's only about 10 tables or so and the parking is atrocious. The waitress was really nice though. We would definitely never go back to eat here.

Loud, louder, and bad food. Started by calling for a reservation for a party of 5 and 1 2 year old. Show up and we get no high chair and we can't hear a word spoken in the place. Got worse with the app. Crawfish with breading not even close to cooked and served in a bowl so the bottom could get soggy. Then we got rolls, looked like they were fresh out of the freezer. Didn't even attempt to give them an egg wash or anything. Then for dinner we got cold food. This place was over priced and not god. Save your money and go look elsewhere

Yes, this restaurant is "hidden" off in the Marina..but that's also what's nice about it. You have great views of the marina and can also eat outside right on the dock. This is truly a local's favorite and it's no surprise since every day there's something new to try for lunch and dinner with Chef Wayne's specials. It's always packed for Sunday brunch with omelettes made right in front of you, however you want them. It's a nice setting for holidays when a special menu is available - don't be afraid to try (for instance) holiday rack of lamb because it's a seafood restaurant. You won't be disappointed. Dinner is amazing, outside of being generally delicious Chef Wayne really goes for presentation. The crab stuffed shrimp and vegetables in beurre blanc are phenomenal and sesame tuna is a real crowd pleaser. My only complaint is the desserts were often skimpy, though to be fair they don't cost you an arm and a leg like most places these days. Also once with a large group ordered several appetizers for everyone to share and the chicken finger appetizer literally had three measly strips in it. Everything else I've ordered was more than I could finish. Also, this is worth 5 stars because it's *in* Niceville and let's face it, there's not much going on out there. That's not to insult the restaurant, I'd still come here if it were in Destin.

LJ Schooner's was kind enough to host the recent Bluewater Bay Duathlon! For that, we say "thank you"! The bartenders were efficient & nice, and the view of the bay is incredible! What a neat location.
