Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I have definitely tried many pizza places around, until I finally got to Panheads Pizzaria. I understand the price might be a little higher than others, but realistically you are paying for higher quality and fresh vegetables with a nice variety of pizza's, including awesome chicken wings and salads. I must have a pizza once a week, it is safe to say this is the best in town!

We LOVE the pizza here. Love it. It is a square pizza with a great crust. We have had several kinds and enjoyed all of them. The wings can be good but are a little hit and miss. Just go in, sit at the bar and have some pizza. You won't regret it.

Oooohhhhh yea yea yea! Remember when pizza was addictive? This is your spot. Grandma Mabel apparently hasn't lost a step, bringing the taste of the garden through the oven and to your table.

So when my husband and I go on vacations one of the main things I do is research and look up reviews on good places to eat. My husband lovess pizza so we were super excited to check this place out as it got such great reviews on TripAdvisor and urbanspoon. Sadly to say we were utterly disappointed and now have learned that those sites seem to have significantly better ratings for businesses than yelp... and for me I think yelp has been more accurate and helpful. Anyways, we ordered the pizza flight because we wanted to try as many different specialty pizzas and this one allowed us to sample 4. We got Dr Feelgood which was just mediocre, Ring of Fire which had like 2 pieces of chicken on each slice, Paradise City which only came with one piece of pineapple on each slice (I don't really like pineapple on pizza but I'm sure ppl who do would like more than 1 little piece on each slice), and Flirting with Disaster was chosen just because they were out of the other bbq pork pizza and my husband didn't like it much. The pizzas didn't have much flavor to it at all, and it was beyond greasy. I was completely lost on why this place got such great reviews. We would've tried some wings but the server forgot about them and after the fail pizzas we didn't bother asking for them. At least the cheese sticks were good... but still a lot more greasy than other places.

Some of the best pizza I have had...personal size is plenty for one

Absolutely the best pizza in the area, PERIOD. Yes, the place is small and thus fills up quickly and there may be a wait as a result but who cares. Have a beer or a glass or wine and enjoy. I suspect that they may be a slight victim of their success. The kitchen can only make so many pizzas at a time The pizzas are made to order and they don't "pump them out" like your regular pizzerias and that's EXACTLY the point. They make unique and more gourmet pizzas, thus it takes more time. If you want fast then go to a chain. If you want great handcrafted delicious unique pizza then go to Panheads. As far as the others who complained about "burnt" pizza, I've eaten there many many times and have had "well done" pizza but never burnt.

We moved away from the beach to try something new, and we are glad we did. Our waitress was very happy to serve us and she knew the menu. We ate top-notch speciality pizzas that could be split into quarters so you could mix and match with family and friends. The Asian salad was very good. The wings were larger than normal buffalo wings and were very juicy and well flavored. Good selection of beers on tap and bottled. Try anything with the words pork and Carolina to make your mouth happy.

Love Panheads Pizzeria!!! I live in Miami, but whenever I am visiting my family in New Smyrna we always make a trip to Panheads. Their cheesy breadsticks and Asian salad are two of my favorite things! If I still have room all of the pizza's we have tried are delicious! Wait staff is fantastic, always taking care of all of our needs!
(5)Erica F.
I'm in love with the Asian Salad and could over indulge on every pizza. Everything is made fresh, so it is totally worth any wait there could be to get their great food. There is always left overs and still great the next day and the next day :) I will always be a Panhead haha

Before i visit a new town, i research their restaurants. I love to eat as much as I love exploring new places. From all the awesome reviews we had read about Panheads, we were super excited to visit. We showed up, were told to sit anywhere. Which we did, and then sat for 20 minutes waiting for a server to show up. Lame. We probably should have manned up and said something, but we were cranky and hungry so we got up and left. While we sat there, we enjoyed the amazing smells coming from the kitchen. I imagine the pizza is awesome. Would love to try this place out again if i'm ever back in the NSB. I'll probably do take out.

This is by far the best pizza anywhere in the Volusia County area.

Had my first visit to Panheads recently. It was wonderful. Great service, fresh and delicious pizza. Highly recommend it! No reason to eat chain pizza in NSB. Check out Panheads!

Now living in NSB stumbled upon Panheads. Got a take out large plain cheese pizza & greek salad. Was surprised that the pizza was square not round. The cheese was burned & floating in grease. The crust was chewy. No flavor to the pizza. The sauce was scarce & tasted like canned tomato paste. Poor quality cheese used besides being burned. The greek salad was nothing to brag about. Decided to give it a 2nd try & dine in & the place was busy. Had garlic parmesan wings which were excellent, very moist & flavorful. Those came out first as we waited on a personal size "Nothing but a Good Time" pizza. The manager (who couldn't have been but 20 yrs old as is the entire staff) came over to tell us our pizza looked overcooked so they threw another one in the oven in case we wanted to wait for a non burned one. At that point we had to tell her about our experience the week before. We chose to wait for the 2nd pizza & low & behold it was raw...the dough was not cooked. We had a few bites & brought it to the waitresses attention. Manager comes over to look @ pizza & says "oh christ" w/ her back to us & walks to the kitchen. She comes back to say the ovens haven't been working properly. She took a round of beer & the pizza off the bill. She offered a $5 off coupon if we come back. Not a chance! The people keeping this place busy must never have had pizza anywhere before in their life but @ Panheads. Worst pizza EVER!

Great pizza and salads! Went above and beyond my expectations. I am from out of town and wanted pizza, but did not want it from one of the regular old chains. We ordered for takeout, but there was seating inside. The place was cozy, nice and modern decor with probably about 8 tables or so and probably 10 seats at the bar with a TV. We played it safe with the Specialty Pizza, The Simple Man; with tomato, basil, and fresh mozzarella. The crust was sooo good!! We also got the Asian salad. They both were awesome; generous portions, straight forward, and delicious. The service was friendly and prompt, even though they had several tables going and folks at the bar. The place had a pleasant buzz about it. I will definitely go back and try the Greek pizza the next time I visit and probably eat in. I definitely recommend this pizza place.

Just ate at Panheads Pizza tonight, loved it! It is a refreshing change of pace from some of the other restaurants in NSB. Not that those aren't good, but this is the kind of pizza place you would find in a more urban area. Great service, a variety of unique pizzas, good wine list and the Stairway To Heaven dessert is not to be missed!

I was in New Smyrna Beach on business and dropped in by myself because it was the first pizza place I could find on Yelp. Really glad I tried it! Great food, selection of beers (like 75 beers!!!!) and the staff was very friendly! Highly recommended!
(5)Lisa S.
Hands down the best meal I've had in NSB! The salads are reasonably priced and big enough to share. The pizza was delish! Not a lot of drink options but I wouldn't take away a star for that!! Check it out!!

We went back to Panheads in New Smyrna Beach for the second time on 7/19/2015 and were so disappointed. We were so excited about our first visit earlier in the summer that I happily wrote a review here expressing that we "heard the angels sing." The crust was simply the best and even reminded us of our Mama's homemade yeast rolls. The service (Albert) was impeccable. Fast forward to last night. While discussing options and placing our order, the waitress actually said, "Sorry...I wasn't really listening." Our cousin ordered lemon in her tea and the lemon was mush and fell apart in her hands. The waitress came and replaced the tea and lemon but didn't bring napkins. Our cousin dug a tissue out of her purse to wipe up the mushy lemon pieces off of her hands. The pizza was ordered, we did get silverware and napkins, but the pizza took twice as long as it did during our first visit to Panheads. The pizza was the biggest disappointment. We were not offered crust options as we were on our first trip. It was very thin and over-cooked to the point of being very dry. We ate it, shouldn't have, but we were hungry at that point and didn't have confidence that our concerns would be addressed. The sauce was spread very thin and tasteless. This was a Wednesday evening and the place was a little busy, but not slammed by any stretch. Our first time at Panheads every table was filled and there was a stead line of take-out customers. AND, we got superior food and service. We had the distinct feeling that there was no management on the premises and there were kids cooking in the kitchen. We really want to go back and try again. Our money is tight and going out to eat is a rare treat. Had we seen anyone to complain to who might have cared last night, we would have complained on the spot. Please, Panheads, get it together. We need you!

The pizza was good. No complaints there. Would have been nice to know they allow dogs to dine with the patrons. Did not like that.
(1)Sean F.
We've been two nights in a row. Great pizza and cheese bread sticks. The marinara is real good, too. Not real sure what some of the other reviewers are complaining about with the service, either. Both times we've been in, the place was packed but service was still good and servers were working together as a team. Much better than most restaurants, in fact. And they were friendly, again unlike most restaurants. Definitely give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

This is my all-time favorite pizza. I ALWAYS get the pizza flight and at twenty-three bucks, I'm the first to admit that it's expensive... But, it's worth it. Not only is it super fun trying out four different types of pizzas, but they are all delicious. The only one I wouldn't recommend is the Freeboard because it sounds good in theory but it always lacks a punch. The All Summer Long is by far my favorite and their homemade ranch is so good. I tried their wings today, too, and they were pretty tasty! Mainly because their ranch is so yummy and different, it has a smoky dill taste to it that's subtle but makes it stand out from your typical Hidden Valley nonsense. Their crust is somewhere in between thick and thin, but it's a perfect in-between. Their service is always a little slow (but nice and friendly), even when the restaurant is empty and food normally takes a while but it is worth the wait every time. If you're visiting or even passing through NSB, I would recommend putting this gem on your list of places you have to stop.

Omg! I can not begin to express my enthusiasm for this place. Initially when we walked in I thought hmmm... Small and nothing to write home about... But we were with friends and thought we'll give it a try. The service was impeccable, everyone teamed in to make sure every table was happy and served every minute. Now to the food... Yum yum all of it was fabulous so order anything and everything you will not be disappointed!!! Since my review we've been back 3 more times and each time service was on point and food amazing. Best pizza in NSB! There is a small outside area, pet friendly and a small bar area with a few tables. They offer take out and usually have some type of special. Enjoy, we sure did!

It started out with waitress telling us that there was no table and she would put us on a waiting list. So, we sat outside and it was a hot day. She gave us menus while we were out there and chat with us. Apparently, she did not put us on a list. A family walked in and took our spot. So, we had no choice other to sit out and enjoy the humid hot weather instead of waiting for another 25 min. We ordered. The waitress never repeated our order. We assumed she got it right. We ordered the meaty speciality and she gave us the "Flirt ....", a bbq pizza! It tasted horrible. The crust was thick. The pizza had too much bbq sauce with slivers of pull pork. A pull pork sandwich would have tasted better than the pizza. We told her its the wrong pizza. Instead of apologizing, she told us she may put in another order and we would have to wait for another 25 min! So, we ate some and bagged the rest for our pooch. The waitress made no attempt to apologize or discounted our order. Bad food, bad service!

My new NSB addiction great pizza great Calzones and even better service. You must try this place.
(5)Clay W.
Strengths: Thick crust. Not another flimsy New York knockoff. Full bar. Plenty of tv's. Opportunities: Music a little too loud for late afternoon. Fine for a weekend night. Summary: Overall not bad. Not a regular destination but not bad for a change up.

Awesome gourmet pizza with unique ingredients. Funky local atmosphere, great craft beer choices and great owners and wait and bar staff. One of our favorite pizza places in New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange.

I found this place kind of on accident. I was trying to get to a different pizza place but when I looked on yelp and saw the reviews- it was closer. It was crowded but service was great and food was incredible! Our waitress let us change from reg breadsticks to loaded ones. They were awesome! Pizza came out in rectangular pan and was really yummy. Crust was perfect. Not too thin and crispy but not thick and purely doughy. Would def come back here if I was visiting nsb again!!!

Don't listen to all the negative reviews this pizzeria was awesome! From the decor, the staff and the food amazing. There homemade flatbread is to die for. They really cater to vegetarians. The atmosphere is very laid back and they play good rock music. My boyfriend has been a chef for 15 years not easily impressed he honestly almost cried when he tried the nachos. Highly recommend can't wait to go back
(5)Atlantaatlanta A.
The pizza was very delicious! It's like a deep dish pizza with a great cheese mixture. I still think there's a cream cheese like texture which made it really good. The atmosphere is a bit crammed unless you sit on the patio. I would definitely recommend this place.
(4)Kimberly W.
WOW! Super service and even better food! Portions are large and the drinks were unique. We will be back next time we are in NSB!
(5)Crystal H.
Service was good, but we ordered a large pizza with 4 veggies and pepperoni. They very obviously forgot to put the pepperoni on the pizza because when it came out, it was basically a veggie pizza with the pepperoni placed on after the fact and thus only heated by the warmth of the pizza. Why would you send a pizza out with uncooked pepperoni on it? The veggie pizza underneath however was cooked to perfection and I've had better pizza from them on another occasion. Will have to try again when Im in town next to see if they get a best 2 out of 3.

Let me start by saying the food has always been good for what it is. For the area the pizza is above average. However...this evening after ordering a to go pizza and appetizer I arrived to pick up my food which I was told would be finished in 2 minutes. No big deal, my wife and I ordered a beer and took a seat at the empty bar. After finishing half of my second beer 15 minutes later our food arrived. I opened the box and we split a piece while finishing our beers. The server abruptly informed us if we were to eat our food at the bar we would have to be asked to leave. We would not be allowed to complete our paid for beverages while tasting a slice of paid for pizza as to go food can not be consumed in the restaurant. The manner in which she approached the subject was short sided and rude and I feel could have been handled in a more appropriate manner. The food is not worth the service rendered!

Best Pizza in NSB..no delivery but worth the drive.

Good service -- we ordered take out. Pizzas were average. Seemed a little salty. Was hoping for more flavor.
