Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Love this place. Very friendly. Food is good. Very good for families. The margaritas are very good.

The service was decent. Each one of us in our group of four got something wrong with our order. The margaritas were not strong AT ALL!
(2)Amy K.
Never helped. After two tables who came in after us were served and we hadn't been acknowledged, we left.

Very good Mexican restaurant. Extensive menu and friendly waitstaff. We have eaten here several times. Love their fajitas!

I got #61, I don't recommend this place, they actually served me rancid chicken and then after the cooks admitted it was rotten had the waitress ask me what I wanted to do about it!... What do you think I want to do about it?! The best part is they didn't charge me for the dish that I'll probably be getting food poisoning from on our vacation but they charged us for our other meals and then told us to have a good night when we left. Wtf you can tell when chicken is rotten!! Never ever going back there.

Just moved to the area and we were craving some Mexican food for dinner. Missing our favorite spot back home in Franklin, TN. We found this restaurant close by. The front door gets stuck, we looked like fools trying to open in. The service is poor, a bunch of young people hanging out, the food was okay. Small servings.

Horrible FOOD and Service, the evening was just soooo sad all around. Will never go back. Go to Catus Moon, it is MUCH better!

Let me start by saying I am mexican & from Little Mexico aka San Antonio Tx. I cook & great. I have been here a few times. Always playing our music. Decor is mexican, all they need are Mariachis. Every time the food, all of it, is missing that extra little kick, the finishing touches. It's like they start off pretty good towards the end they give up. Then the finishing product is half ass. Cheese sauce, no, never only on nachos. Even then it should be shredded. Could be great. I mean they are really mexican. They need to cook like at home, but probably catering to the area. Or should have a different menu for me. They are really nice & the service is great. There was a nagging worker there today but only a few understood, like me. Better than most fake mexican restaurants around here. Don't bring the Mariachis yet. Food needs to be better!

I'm originally from Arizona, so I'm kind of picky when it comes to Mexican food. El Patron is just ok. Service is friendly, but the food is just ok. There's something really strange about the ground beef, some spice that I can't quite put my finger on. The shredded beef is decent, but for the most part everything tastes as if it's missing something.
(3)Lori M.
It was ok. It wasn't awful. But I would never go back or obviously recommend anyone. It was really just ok. Service was more impressive than food.
(2)Katie R.
I thought it was pretty good; it's not the best Mexican I've ever had, but for the price I was satisfied. I had a lunch special for less than $7 and I left full. Service was quick and friendly, environment quiet considering its next to Winn Dixie. Hot sauce on the table was surprisingly good and had a nice kick.

Best Mexican for 20 miles either direction on highway 98. Love the fast friendly service, and the food is fresh and always good. This is another of the restaurants we take all of our guests to. Never had a thing there I didn't like!
(4)Joanne V.
GROSS and Old food. I think they make big batches of food and just keep re heating until they use it up. Bummer because first few months it was good mexican and we needed that in navarre,,,,but quickly lost interest in serving good and or fresh food. also restaurant was very dirty and buidling in desperate need of repair. if you are looking for food poisening - thats the place to go

I love this place. They have the best margaritas. I love the steak burrito with cheese dip poured on top. The nachos are delicious too. The service is also great.

MOVED! El Patron is now located in the Winn Dixie Shopping Center, just down the road (go east) from it's previous location. This much improved Mexican restaurant is a winner.
(3)Jana A.
It's ok for Mexican. Not my favorite though. My husband likes their chicken fajitas. I got the quesadilla and was disappointed, but the second time I went I got the shrimp enchiladas and they were fine. Nothing really blew my hair back though. Nice people though and good salsa.

We just tried out the new location. And would have to say that this was the worst experience we have had in awhile. As you walk in you are greeted by un smiling faces the service was terrible, and our waitress didn't check on us once, she just sat by the door socialising with her friend . And we didn't even get what we ordered. Finally after waiting and waiting we had to just walk up to someone to ask for our check. The cashier had to get it while our waitress continued to sit and talk to her friend. The one star would have to go to the salsa, that's the one thing that wasn't screwed up. If you like bad attitudes, terrible food and crappy service you will love this place.

Friendly and decent enough food that we will go back. The deluxe nachos were pretty tasty but seemed a little small for the price, good thing it was backed up with the complimentary nachos. The salsa was great and kept full. I had the shredded beef taquitos which were very good and larger than most, 4 for about $8.50. Jumbo margaritas we're fairly potent though a bit much sour mix. Service was friendly and we'd go back. Place was clean and well maintained, especially considering the former restaurant in its place.

Pretty much since leaving Texas this is as close to home cooked Mexican as I have tasted in this area. The service was great and they actually serve Sol beer. I have tried a few other places locally and this is the best in the area thus far. White queso is flat out awesome. My wife is mexican and is very picky on her food and she liked this place.
(5)Jack B.
Great Salsa. Great Service. This was a very different flavor from the average Mexican restaurant in the Atlanta area. The spices were good but different. I tried the Parallida Azteca- basically fajitas with chicken, shrimp, steack, bacon and pineapples. Not bad. The Tamale was below average. My wife had the Carnitas. Not bad either. They were stewed rather than roasted an pan seared. Once again a little different, but good enough.
(3)Chelle B.
Most authentic Mexican restaurant I have been to in Navarre, and the surrounding area. Great service, great guacamole! I had a chicken enchilada, taco and burrito plate and it was fab! Good price great food! Oh.. and the fried ice cream was amazing :)

El Patrone is great basic mexican food. Service is good and fast. You get great portions for the money you pay.
