It always surprises me if someone says they like Spanky's. It's an outdated tourist trap. Basically canned soup in the salad bar and not much of a selection to make a salad. For the price it's definitely not worth it. My dad swears they put msg in the lettuce to make you fill up faster. I believe him for some reason, either that or the salad bar is so bad you don't even want to bother going up for 2nds. Nice view of a canal and tamiami ford though.

It's no 5 star place but take it for what it is. It's a kitschy bar atmosphere with simple food. I felt compelled to write something after all these 1 star negative reviews. Our waitress was a sweetheart. We sat outside overlooking the canal. My boss got a Blt and I got a grilled cheese w fries. Nothing crazy. Good came quick and hot and was good. Nice staff, nice view, decent food. Really cute decor. You'll feel like you are in a time warp.

Not the worst restaurant I've been to. Hit and miss at best. Rice has got to be out of a box. Had the "blackened" basa which was in a word, horrible. Pleasant staff and a nice kitschy decor (if you're into that sort of thing). Kitchen could use some cooking classes. Better places to spend your money.

Kitschy decor. Smells like a bar because...it's a bar!! I had a steak sandwich, and it was good. My wife had a blackened fish sandwich. It was very buttery. Kids had hot dogs. It gets three stars because the food was only ok.

I hadn't eaten at Spanky's for several years before I decided to revisit this place the other night. It was bad right from the get-go. There were four other parties seated. It took ten minutes for us to even get a server to come to our table. She brought us menus and took our drink orders. Took another eternity to get our drinks, and we all asked for water - the simplest drink of all time. When she came back to take our orders, I had a couple quick questions about two menu items that I was between. She wouldn't even let me get out my sentences! She interrupted me EVERY TIME I opened my mouth. It was absolutely maddening. She takes down our orders, and yet again, it takes an abnormally long time to get to the table. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. The chicken was of acceptable quality. The bottom bun of my sandwich, however, was so soggy that I was unable to actually pick up the sandwich to eat it. It was so wet and mushy that it was falling apart. Disgusting. It took another ten minutes for me to flag down the server and ask for another bun. Meanwhile my companions are halfway through their meals. I showed her the bun and how it was literally falling apart on my plate, and she reacted with a really nasty attitude, as if it was my fault and I shouldn't be bothering her. By the time I finally had an edible sandwich, everyone else was done with their food, and what I had of mine was cold. Overall, we were there for nearly two hours, and I feel like I paid too much money for rude service and mediocre (at best) food. The only thing I still like about Spanky's is all the neat little knick knacks all over the walls. Everything else about my visit was garbage. To top it all off, I felt sick to my stomach for several hours after leaving. Not going back.

Great dinner out with the family. We enjoyed the nice salad bar, 3 of us had the prime rib which was awesome and the service was outstanding. We come every time we are in town and are never disappointed.

Decent food - fast and friendly service. Ate lunch outside overlooking the canal - my party of five enjoyed their sandwiches.

Fun decor, decent food a little pricey

Terrible and way over priced ... Two margaritas cost $22:( after seeing the menu you walked out after drinks... Old old old !!!

Food ok at best but service was soo bad that you should never go back. Forgot half our food , never came back to table. Run from here so many better places to eat in Naples this is no longer one and total disconnect for customer service from owners. As a resident don't spend your tourist dollars in such a poorly run place when there are much better experiences to be had.

My wife had the salad bar I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato ham and bacon by time my cold grilled cheese came out with a bunch of crumbled up stale chips my wife had eaton two bowls of soup and two trips to the salad bar. The cheese was not even melted and the ham and tomato were cold. A grilled cheese made proper should be melted together and to hot to eat when it gets to your table. If I owned a restaurant that served chips with the sandwich they would be freshly made to order not stale and crushed as though someone sat on the bag. I will try it again the soup and salad bar looked good as soon as I saw my meal i wished I had ordered that instead UPDATED JUNE 2015 new owners we went in for the soup and salad bar it was great saw a customer order the pastrami sandwich I'm going back for that

We had a lunch in this unique speakeasy. Entering you find model airplanes hanging in the ceiling and memorabilia all over the place. They even have a table with 4 barber chairs at it, very fun decor. The menu has a little bit for everyone. Looking it over we felt the burger was the choice here, and we were right! The burger was fresh, juicy and had a wonderful bun. Service started out great but we lost her towards the end. Nice people all over the place. The bar looked inviting. it is a local hang out as everyone knew each other. I would go back gladly!

Good food, good service and prices, GREAT salad bar; nice ambiance worth; a repeat

Had dinner here on a Thursday night during a recent Naples visit. We were seated quickly and our server was there in a flash. I had the burger, which was very good, but could you please offer a smaller version? 8 oz of red meat is a big serving for those of us with a smaller appetite. The fries were hot and thick cut; good as well. My companions had the salad bar and a grilled chicken sandwich; both seemed pleased with their choices. The Yuengling on tap was enjoyable as well. Any number of Spanky's shirts, mugs, beer coolers, etc are available for purchase for those who enjoy the Little Rascals. Decent place for a quick meal.

Cute little lunch place, service was fair, food was good, atmosphere was darling! I will go there again for sure...for lunch.

Funky fun decor gets 4 stars. Food was good but not the best and gets 3. Salad bar had lots of fixin's loaded on the back of an old Model T truck bed. The airplanes, bikes, barber chairs, gas pumps, etc can keep you busy. The prime rib was supposedly real good but my rib eye could have used a higher heat sear. The fettuccine Alfredo was a bit bland, but the kids liked it. Ribs were just okay. I guess coming for the experience would have been better but I was looking for a great steak (after our first choice was closed). Not sure if it was anything I ate but my stomach ached that night and the next day.

The interior is really cool that's why they are getting 2 starts. I was in town with my son and we are there. Got to sit in barber chairs. But the food was horrific. I had the prime rib which was disgusting and my son had chicken fingers which at the age of 4 he said were bad and could not eat them. We had to go get something else for dinner after we ate there.

While visiting a friend in the area a few months back, we settled on this local gem (more or less, the friend dines here every Thursday, so it has to be decent, right?). I enjoyed the atmosphere: the children from the movie Spanky's littering the front of coasters and beer cozies, signs plastered all over the wall with friendly phrases and pictures, a dark but inviting lighting. The bartender was really nice and a tad overgenerous on drinks for a lightweight like me. I call it great service and bad judgment on my part. She was very attentive to every customer who walked in her section and made you feel like an instant friend. I was out for fries and salad, while the friend desired steak. This establishment was the perfect mesh for such tastes, and I was surprised by the amount of items in the salad bar as many smaller restaurants (you know, not Sweet Tomatoes, which bases it's entire profit on a salad bar) seem to skimp and only have lettuce, tomatoes, croutons and dressing. I'd check this out if you are searching for a new place to eat with less of that chain meal feel. But watch your manners. It is my understanding the owner is a sweet, old fashioned lady.

I am not a very big fan of this place. The ribs got me sick, and were not very cooked. The place is dirty. I do not recommend eating here.

Michelbobs was closed on Sunday. So we decided to try another local family restaurant. Spanky's is just north on airport and had ribs too this was our first visit. The decorations were fun and antiques adorn the walls of this an Our Gang themed restaurant. This place was not crowded at 8:00 most of the seats were empty. Service was slow in spite of it was not to busy?? Our order was burgers Fries and Ribs. Prices were high considering portions and slow service. As the plates hit the table the first thing picked up was the French fries. Ugh!.. not crisp and soggy as if it were boiled in oil instead of fried. Aww come on! McDonald's and Burger King can do it. Why can't you? Moving right along the burgers and ribs were OK. Nothing spectacular just OK. Next time we will order French fries not the French boils. Better yet skip the fries.

After 10 years since last eating at Spanky's, we decided to give it a go once more. Just for old times sake and to bring back some fond memories of meals gone by. We should have left those memories alone. The reality was a bland, overcooked monstrosity they passed off as a meal. Baked potatoes hard and cracked as if left in the microwave too long. Pasta soggy and starchy. Alfredo sauce straight from a jar. Chicken breasts unseasoned and rubbery. Even the tuna on the salad bar tastes rancid and says old. Some memories are best left as just that. Reliving them might be harmful to your health. Or at least your intestinal fortitude. Avoid.

Been meaning to try this place for a long time. Went to Spanky's tonight for the first time. Never again. Had to wait 45+ mins after ordering for our food (all broiled selections) I ordered the Grouper special for $21.95. it was terrible, didn't look like grouper in any way. Looked like someone put a piece of Carp in a Panini press. Politely let my waitress know twice that I was not fond of it, but she did and said absolutely nothing. Finally I said "could I please have some tartar sauce, maybe that would make it taste better" she brought me tartar sauce and then ran off. It's like she didn't want to have anything to do with anyone who didn't like their food. We paid and left. They're were four in our party, no one was really happy with their meal. The soup tasted good but was as thick as wall paper paste, the salad bar looked like it had seen better days, the alfredo sauce on the pasta was an insult to Italians everywhere. The only good thing anyone at our table complimented on was the baked sweet potato. I repeat, Never Again! terry Naples/Chicago

We have ate here about ahalf dozen times. The food is just so so. We have had hamburgers to steak. Its really all just food, nothing great. Salad bar used to be pretty good but has become short on choices. Service has always been pretty good. What we really go for is eatting outside next to the cannels, watching all the turtles swimming around while you eat.
