I had high expectations about this place, but sadly it turned out to be both lacking in taste and service. For some reason we had two waiters assigned to our table and ended up getting asked everything twice, it was if like there was an echo in there. Just as the first waiter was finished telling about the menu, the next one would show up telling us exactly the same, this continued throughout the evening. I ordered the vegetable tagine with couscous, the presentation was great, the taste not so much, it was very bland. The couscous tasted like it came out of an instant pack, not from a couscoussier. I sent 3/4 of this this back as it was just not worth it. I was never asked if I wanted something else, and I was also charged for it. I also had the vegetable pad thai, I was warned that this was a bit hot and was asked if I was okay with that. The flavors were there, but it was not hot at all, my wife, who orders mild at thai restaurants also agreed. We did get an heirloom tomato caprese with white vinegar that was actually really good (hard to ruin a caprese?).

Had dinner last week the service was impeccable, we selected the three course menu appetizer, maim course and dessert each one was better than the next it was the best dinning experience we had in South West Florida to date I would compare to any top restaurant in NYC
Wonderful! Don't be afraid of the multi-course menu, it was fine dining at its best. With wine pairing, the meal was well worth it. Fabulous food and plenty of interesting wines. I know they promote special occasions, but I thought it was great for a meal of creative high end food (different than typical Naples fare).

Chef Charles Mereday's waterfront restaurant is amazing. His incredible culinary background (which apparently includes cooking for New York Times' 4-star Ryland Inn in White House, France's 3-star Michelin-rated La Maison Troisgroshe, as well as Zanzibar Blue in Philadelphia ) is manifestly apparent in his preparation of the food here. Unconventionally, every table is meant to be a testing menu table, so the menus are set up as prix fixe only; diners choose from a 2, 3, or 4-course dinner, and dessert is always complimentary. In addition, the menus tend to change on a daily basis. We had seared scallops (which came paired with parsnip puree), duck breast (which came paired with butternut squash puree, beats, and ginger gastrique), filet of beef (which came paired with potato puree, haricots vert, and veal jus), red snapper (which came paired with roasted parsnips and baby fennel salad), and Maine lobster (their special for that night). For dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding (accompanied by brown butter ice cream) and the carrot cake (flavored with coconut, green tea, cardamom, and carrot puree). The meal also came with bread, which wouldn't usually bear mentioning except that the bread was freshly made and pretty fantastic. Overall, the food was inordinately good-- a really fabulous experience. Particularly, the duck breast and filet of beef were exceptional. I am not sure if they sous vide the beef, but it tasted like they did. I actually cannot over-emphasize how good that filet of beef was! Please do yourself a favor and try it. The location, ambiance, presentation, and the service was also excellent. We will be back! Recommend: Filet of Beef; Duck Breast

We went there in early January and had a great meal. The bartender told us that at happy hour everything is half off on the menu including glasses of wine. Well, we went for happy hour tonight and lo and behold they don't do that anymore. I feel very much like bait and switch. We won't go back.

We've spent at least one long weekend a month in Naples for the past several winters so we've been to all the hot restaurants and our new favorite is Mereday's. During this nine day trip we ate there three times. The first time we wandered in before it was open. Charles offered us a glass of wine and later brought samples from that evenings menu. Everything was fantastic. The second time we brought friends and did the four course plan. Again, fantastic. On our third visit we ordered from the Bar Menu. It's a more traditional menu only available in the bar. My filet was perfect. The best I can remember. If you are in Naples don't miss this place.

My husband, parents and family friends checked out Mereday's while we were in town over the holidays. We had been excited to check out this restaurant since the spring when we, unfortunately, had to cancel our reservation. Dining at Mereday's is done by courses... you select 2, 3 or 4 courses... all meals come with dessert, so when you make your selection make sure to keep in mind that you'll have an additional course to enjoy. I was hungry and made the choice to go with 3 courses (actually most of our group did), but looking back I wish I had done only 2 because the portions were VERY generous!! The other thing that is cool is that you can select from WHATEVER course you'd like... you literally could pick two of the third course and one of the fourth if you pick 3 courses. I thought that was pretty awesome. I ended up choosing from courses two, three and four. I started with the mushroom risotto from course two. I'm a huge sucker for risotto and mushrooms, so anytime I see mushroom risotto on a menu I usually order it. This risotto did not disappoint and was not too big or too small for a portion-- it was just right. Goldilocks would've been happy :) My next course I picked from course three and went with the shrimp that was accompanied with bacon and grits... this was my least favorite of my three courses, but that's not to say it wasn't delicious because it was. For my third course, I went with the filet of beef and potato puree. The cut of beef was very, very generous in size. I was very pleased. It was at this point in the meal I was wishing I had not gotten the shrimp because I knew I still had my dessert coming, which was sticky toffee pudding and it was delightful. I really liked Meredays and the idea of dining in different courses... it allowed us to all order a bunch of different things and share tastes of our plates with one another, which I always like. I was so happy with my course choices and would get them all again without hesitation.

Meredays Fine Dining is a welcome change from the typical Naples Restaurant My husband and I had the four course dinner, and they add the dessert course at no charge The asparagus soup was perfection The shrimp and grits was good, but heavy on the garlic, and could have had more grits on the plate, but the flavors were all there I had a scallop dish that was nice and light My final dish was a beef tenderloin that was very flavorful and had the most amazing vegetables My husband had the escargot, and fois grois, he said both were good His red snapper was very fresh The perfect ending was the goat cheese ice cream , it was superb And my chocolate trio was very nice. The food info every well, and a total of five courses for $85 is pricey, but we were glad we went The location on the bay is very nice, some beautiful boats to see. Next time out, we will try their French bistro at Coconut Point! This was a five star night out, next time will sit at the bar and order a la carte. Very relaxing, no one rushed us.

Went for 5 course New Years Eve dinner and it was fabulous! Their regular menu items were featured-the corn soup is so lite and flavorful as is his spiced escargot! The mushroom risotto was so nutty and cooked just right as were the lamb chops. The black grouper was not really spiced well but was very flaky and healthy! The bread pudding is to die for!! Wine pairings are great! We will be back!

Why did I know about this before? Creative, fantastic dishes - try the prix fixed menu in the main dining room two or three course plus a stunning desert on the house- all while overlooking the water... Why fight the crowds on Fifth avenue - hop over the bridge and park easily and enjoy.

I went to Mereday's for lunch while visiting Naples and it was fabulous! I started with the Chef's Garden Tomatoes. This was the very best take on a caprese-type dish I've ever tasted, carefully plated and incredibly well-balanced. I also tasted the Tarte Flambe, a flatbread covered in creme fraiche, thick chunks of bacon, gruyere, and caramelized onions. Think of it as the fanciest, richest pizza you will ever bite into. As a main course I chose the grouper, partly because I was anxious to taste Mereday's preparation of local seafood, and partly because I am drawn to beurre blanc like a moth to a flame. The fish was cooked perfectly, and I really enjoyed the subtle sweetness of the beet couscous. I ended with the Artisan Cheese selection. It was plated beautifully, and the flavors were so well-rounded. Dare I say the best cheese sampling I've ever tasted to date. At $25 for 3 courses, the price is very reasonable for the value provided. I definitely recommend!

Last night sIx of us walked out of this place because of lack of food service after 1-1/2 hours, and rude and unacceptable answers from the manager. One reason given was they had to go buy meat twice during the day. Would you believe? Stay away.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Fantastic restaurant - on par with places I'd rate highly in major cities, so a real treat in Naples where my expectations tend to be someone lower. My wife and I had a nice table overlooking the harbor - was nice to see boats passing by. And the interior was modern and stylish. It also wasn't very loud, so we could actually have a nice conversation rather than yell - which is the case some other places. We each had a cocktail to start and both were well made. After that we switched to wine by the glass, of which there was a good range of options. The food was excellent - we opted for a 4-course meal (not including desert) and ended up having nearly all the dishes in course two. Highlights were mushroom risotto, scallops, escargot, duck, pad thai, and grouper. Make sure you bring your appetite - even with a collection of small plates you will get a great deal of food! And it all tasted great and was presented with style and thoughtfulness. The service was also very good - attentive but not intrusive. The wait staff was all well versed in the dishes and their components and provided friendly guidance throughout. We also got the chance to meet the Charles Mereday himself, the friendly and creative chef. :-) One thing that could have been somewhat better is the desert. My wife had the pots de creme, which was good, and I had the cheese course. They were quite good but just a hair below the level of the other courses. I probably would not have commented on it if everything else were not so superb. But it is a minor nit in an otherwise outstanding, and relaxed meal. I highly recommend checking this place out! Yum!!

Being new to the area, friends gave us a gift certificate for this place. What a great gift. The place is pricey but everything was great. Sat outside, full romantic moon and perfect temperature. Service was attentive, knowledgable about the food and wines and very friendly. We had the heirloom tomatoes, mushroom rissotto, grouper, veal pasta, seared fois gras, and corn soup. Every dish was to die for. Dessert was a cheese plate and a pear, goat cheese ice cream dish. Everything was presented beautifully. Overall, a fabulous restaurant. Couldn't afford to go there often but it is certainly the best food we've had in Naples.

Dining here made the trip to Naples something to remember. It is always great to be able to tie a special eating experience to a trip so that it adds another memory to the sightseeing, meeting new people, etc. I like food but I like the experience of dining well better. Mereday's puts all the components together very well - location, ambiance, interesting menu, good wines, and service that is just there when it shoud be.

We went to Mereday's for a special anniversary dinner based on all of the positive reviews...and it did not disappoint! The service was very attentive and the executive chef owner was on scene ensuring every dish left the kitchen to his satisfaction. I loved the open kitchen concept and the price fix menu was different than most menu concepts but in the end very fun. There were so many choices..we had the 4 course (3 plus dessert). Escargot was amazing...i wish i had a spoon for the sauce! Perfectly cooked scallop next and the filet was also perfection. My husband raved about the beet salad and the shrimp creole he said was one of the best things he had ever eaten! The portions are not small, don't think you will leave Mereday's hungry! Best in Naples!!

Let me start with the fact that I hate to write a bad review and I was reluctant to write this one but I feel my experience at Mereday's warrants it. I am a Naples local. I love "foodie" small plate tasting menus and felt Mereday's would be a dream come true. I booked our reservations 3 weeks in advance. I requested 7 PM and was told that they had other reservations at that time but could get us in at 7:30. No problem I thought. In fact I felt it was a good sign that they were so busy. When we arrived the place was almost deserted which was surprising. We were immediately seated and ordered drinks. In looking over the menu I noticed that the caprese salad had a $10 upcharge over their already pricey selections. When I asked the waiter, he was effusive about the quality of the tomatoes. So I ordered them and was dismayed to see that they were mushy and tasteless which meant they had probably been refrigerated at one time - a big no no for tomatoes. The other entrees were equally disappointing except for the rabbit which was quite nice. About half way through the meal, one of my guests ordered another glass of wine. It never came. After waiting awhile, she had to find the waiter. When he came over, he apologized and admitted that he forgot. When he brought the wine, towards the end of the meal, he said it would be on the house. But when we got the check, it was still added in. Again, we had to call him over and he had to redo the credit card payment. All in all, not a good experience. Although the atmosphere is lovely (hence my 2 star rating instead of 1 star), the $380 check for 3 people who only drank 2 glasses of wine was not at all worth it.

Sorry folks, I know we're in the minority according to the reviews but we went based upon feedback posted here and we encountered the opposite of these glowing reviews. We tested first visit via a Prix Fixe Lunch. (considering that it;s high season in a luxury resort it was empty - I believe more staff than customers dining for lunch. Course One - Soups Gazpacho - Presentation=5 whereas Taste =a Negative 1 Heavily laden with cilantro that overwhelmed it and the pretty diced vegigies centered cake was lousy-when mixed with the pretty green liquid-I hate Cilantro. Wife had French Onion and she said it was far too bready and subpar. Sorry, but we've had far superior both of these soups back in MI and my wife can do them far better than this dining experience. Course Two - Salad Tomato Presentation=5, However we both detected a cardinal sin chef's aren't supposed to do and made Taste a less than expected event because it was pre-chilled and you know what it does to tomato's - mushy. Course Three - Flatbread & Creole Shrimp - Presentation=3 and my Flatbread was burnt and next to impossible to cut and the bacon was burnt also but taste was OK but Chef could take some lessons from our Vince and Joe's Italian Produce Brick oven pizza back home. Taste was OK despite the problems but this is supposed to be a Chef prepared meal and should have WoW factor and no Italian would touch this when even Little Caesar can do their cardboard pizza without burning it. Course Four - Desserts Presentation=5 and taste =4-5, Finally something tasted as good as it looked. Food was disappointing but the Dining area is attractive, we had an excellent view of the Bay and boats docked and the piped in music was good and so ambiance surpassed expectations but one goes to Dine for the FOOD prepared for Chef Quality not pre-prepped stuff or burnt flatbread. We've vacationed in SW FL 20 yrs and lived permanently 5 months in Naples and it is shocking and disappointing that so many dining places that seem to present themselves as chef quality but taste more like they are using LINE COOKS from Denny's! Sorry to be the contrarians folks but Bar Bites at Tommy Bahama's would beat this Pretty food any day and I'm sure they also use line cooks there. Good Luck on your try!

We dined at Mereday's tonight with another couple and we all thought the food was outstanding. What we did find fault with was the contrived menu where you order a minimum of three categories but you MUST order dessert as one of the options. None of us wanted dessert but were told this is what we must do. Chef Mereday should reconsider this concept, because in this town, most people do not like to be dictated to. We do wish him good luck in a very competitive business ,

Excellent restaurant. Outstanding food and service. Truly fine dining. Only downer was no liquor, yet. Beer and wine only. Good wine list and knowledgeable staff almost made up for it. Chef/owner is doing something great at this restaurant.
If I had never been to Meredays at Naples Bay Resort - I would never go back. However, I have had a lovely meal there in the past, so I'll chalk this up to a bad night at Meredays. But make no mistake it was a bad night. We went on Valentine's day, we sat outside and it was quite lovely. The service was mixed at best, but overall just didn't cut it - we waited about 15 minutes to get our menus. Had cocktails and then things went downhill. I had scallops that were delicious, my wife had escargot in a pistou sauce in a silly plate with a huge edge and a tiny bowl. The snails were small, canned and without shells - but there were about 10 of them, I had scallops that were quite good - we were never offered bread, they were out of the wine I wanted...the waiter did bring another selection that was good. My wife had a filet mignon in a lovely sauce, I had a piece of pan sauteed red snapper that was so dry and tough I had to send it back. I had a piece of tenderloin that was delicious - but I had enough - I asked the waiter to wrap it - and he tossed it instead. just very disappointing and very expensive. $ 240 with two cocktails and a glass of wine. Maybe it was just jammed - not sure - but not a good performance.

Spectacular! Creative, culinary artistry. People are confused when it says 2, 3 or 4 courses and dessert is free. But this is the key: they give you a list of 5 various items and listed under 1; 2; 3; 4. Each plate/course is a little bigger than the next. So you could have 1 dish from #3 and 1 dish from #4. Or 4 from #1. You get to pick and choose. Ok it was $55 for 2 courses (actually 3 because of great dessert). Technically you could have the fish course from #4 - I had the pompano and likely the best I ever had. skin on and crispy plus the accountrements were magnificent. Then I could have had the steak dish. yes that would be 2 choices from #4. I had the shrimp and grits. Like none I have ever tasted. Remember that Charles and his executive chef stayed in charleston at J & W. With Nueski bacon/pork - OMG then my second course was the pompano. And the third course was dessert that included 3 to 5 items. This was $55! As good as it gets. our friends had the same courses but added paired wines for another $25 or so. I only hope that enough people discover this gem at the Naples Bay Resort. If this were mid season this would be a new #1 on people's 'go to' lists. Definitely worth a visit. HPB/skip

I was underwhelmed with my meal and service. I had to send back my fish as it was overcooked. We all agreed our food was over salted. The tomatoes were a bit mealy and I thought it RIDICULOUS that there was an up-charge on the Caprese salad to begin with. This meal was not at all worth the exorbitant price.

We dined at meredays fine dining last Saturday night and had a great meal. The pre fix menu offered great options and were all healthy portions. They also provide a wine pairing that works well with each dish. Our highlights were the foi gras, shrimp ceviche and strip steak with mushroom risotto. We highly recommend giving this new spot a try!! I wish we lived closer, but will return this winter when we come back to Florida.

Had a "Date Night" with wife on a recent Saturday night and it was everything we expected from a fine-dining restaurant. Lovely setting on the water, pleasing decor, attentive servers and, most importantly, great food from an inventive and varied menu. Everything from high-end Foie Gras to down home Shrimp and Cheese Grits. If you can't find something of your liking, you might be the most finicky diner on earth. Bottom line is this was one of our many visits since they opened a year ago and we were pleased to report that they have continued to maintain their high standards and rating as one of the best places to dine in Naples.

I am from Chicago and I am very familiar with fine dinning at the caliber of Mereday's. I have been coming down to Marco Island annually for the past 20 years. I have not gone to a restaurant off the island for a decade. We decided to try Mereday's because we wanted to both try something new and try something a little more high end than what is offered on Marco. I called the restaurant before heading over and I was informed that I was expected to wear dress pants and collared shirt, but that ties and suit coats were optional. This was frustrating for several reason which I will not get into. At least 2 diners were wearing shorts that night and everyone else was dressed very casually. I felt mislead by the hostess. The decor is very nice. We enjoyed talking to the bartender and our pre-dinner cocktails were great. The wine list in inadequate for a fine dinning establishment. I would guess there were 15 whites and 30 reds. While this is a plentiful selection at most restaurants, it was disappointing. For some reason the white wine we picked out had to be taken out of cellar temp and chilled. This might have made sense if they had a large cellar and I pick out an older wine. We had to wait additional time for a second bottle to chill after the wine manager accidentally pushed the cork into the bottle. My wife and I had 3 courses each. The foie gras was excellent but the preparation was simple, so I think the goose did most of the work here. The mussels were also very good. They were in a fairly traditional Korma sauce similar to most Indian restaurants I have been to. The scallop was ok. I do not know why they were only seared on one side, making them half as flavorful as they could have been. The pappardelle lacked flavor. The sauce tasted more like the braised duck than the morels that were in it. The last course was the worst by far. My wife insisted on getting the vegetable tangine. Some of the vegetables were under cooked. The dish was boring and should have been a side to another dish. The snapper was terribly over cooked and dry. The accompanying veggies lacked flavor. Worst dish of the night. The deserts are free because they suck. Mine was a dried out cupcake that was probably made that morning. The servers were overwhelmed by too many tables to attend to. Napkins were not refolded and wine glasses were left empty. The meal cost $375 after tip. We will not be back. Should also note that we went there on a Saturday because we thought that would give us the best chance to have our food prepared by chef Mereday and he was not there that night.

Had a great meal on Valentine's Day at Mereday's Fine Dining. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. The menu was very limited, maybe because of the holiday. The appetizers are amazing, dinner entrees were also delicious, but there was only 4 choices, too limited. The service was fine, not great and certainly did not meet expectation. It is an expensive restaurant and you go there to dine expecting that everything should be perfect from arrival to departure, unfortunately it was not. Naples has many amazing restaurants to choose from, don't think we will be back.

Went here with my (at the time fiancée) for our last date before our wedding. We were stunned that the place was fairly empty- it really shouldn't have been! We've done tasting style restaurants before (mainly in DC) and the prices here were very fair. The food was delicious. They surprised us with a couple glasses of champagne, an extra appetizer, and then the chef came out to meet us and wish us luck. We had a fantastic time and would love to go back if we're ever in the area again.

Oh Mereday's, Mereday's...how I long for another one of your delectable, scrumptious meals. My Grandma, Mother and I retreat to the beautiful town of Naples around Christmas time every year. On Christmas Eve, we wanted to try a new, upscale restaurant for dinner. Thanks to Yelp, I came across Mereday's and luckily, they had a table available for us. When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that they somehow managed to seat us by the window on such a busy night! I was already impressed. I'm truly grateful that we got a chance to eat at Mereday's because it truly was one of the top 5 or 10 meals I've had in my life in 27 years (Side note: I'm a huge foodie, French nationality, originally from NYC, and have eaten in the best restaurants in Paris). Everything we ate was absolutely perfect. I began with the Ad-Lib Cocktail - fantastic. My Mother and Grandma ordered a wonderful, light white wine (cannot remember which one it was other than the fact that it was a French wine). I proceeded to order the Creole Shrimp, Nueske's Bacon, Stone Ground Cheddar Grits as an appetizer, and that was legitimately one of the best, more flavorful dishes I have ever tasted. My mouth was in ecstasy as I enjoyed each and every mouthwatering flavor. I chose the Filet of Beef, Potato Puree, Asparagus, Haricots Vert, Veal Jus as my entrée and every item was excellent. The filet was cooked perfectly and I couldn't get enough of it. I closed out the meal with the Mocha Pots de Creme, Flourless Chocolate Cake, White Chocolate Ice Cream...the combination of hot and cold and the flavors were incredible! The cake literally melted in my mouth. The service was also fantastic - our servers were kind and helpful. The chef just happened to be in the kitchen that night as well, which was a wonderful touch. All in all, we had a phenomenal time at Mereday's all around - I absolutely cannot wait to return during our next trip to Naples. Mereday's will now become a staple of our visits.

Excellent service, excellent food! I am very picky about where we eat. We have a 5 restaurant rotation that just became 6.

Fantastic experience! When you are here, you truly are for a treat. Nice wines and great food. Service that is right on spot. Look forward to another visit.

Great people, great food (well thought out dishes, excellent portions), sure to become a big hit this winter. If Gazpacho is on the menu don't pass it up.

I wish we lived closer, but will return this winter when we come back to Florida.

the atmosphere is modern, warm, and fun. The food selection is unique, meticulously prepared and paired with interesting wines. This gourmet experience is meant to be enjoyed and savored.

Over-salted, poor service. Not worth the large cash-out.
