Wait staff person (Jonathan) was attentive and kind. The food was horrible. One of us had tortellini with a tomato cream sauce, it tasted a lot like Rague. I am not sure the pasta was homemade. The caesar salad was too creamy and not tasty with the rock hard croutons. The bread was day old but the butter was good :). Huge portions but nothing was spiced or seasoned. The other two in my party found their entrees equally bad. Stay away, stay far away.

This is a new second location for a restaurant that's been in existence in old Naples for several years. I decided to try it for lunch this week and overall was disappointed. I was seated in the bar area which was fine and the bartender came right over to give me a menu. From then on it took quite a while, probably 20 minutes, for somebody to acknowledge my presents and take my order. It was not busy and several times waitresses passed my table without even looking at me. I eventually got up and went to talk to one of the waitress we were standing around and ask if someone could take my order. The bartender interrupted and said that he was taking care of my station. He eventually came over and took my order. My pizza came and it was just alright. However not worth the wait. When it came time to pay my bill. I had another long wait of 15 to 20 minutes, With my empty plates sitting there and me cooling my heels. In conclusion I won't be back and it won't be giving any good recommendations out. Final analysis... food not worth the poor service

Taylor is the saving grace on this 3 star review (would have been 2). Everyone knows that Cafe Luna is mediocre, at best. Yes, they charge $19.99 for a pasta plate, minimum. Yes, the food is quite edible. I realize that Naples is composed of an embarrassingly large representation of extremist conservatives, however FOX "News" is so full of hate-mongering, that, for the non-extremist conservatives, it is truely offensive. You wouldn't play Martin Bashir or Tom Stewart, radically left, so maybe just avoid any radicalism, for the sake of America and it's ideals.

Service here really is atrocious. You get seedy sports bar caliber service for $20-30 entrees. Had to ask for water twice, had to ask for a steak knife, had four different people come to our table, were never asked how the food was (it was mediocre and overpriced), and the entire experience took over two hours (the place wasn't remotely crowded). Just a general "I don't care" attitude all around. Even said bye have a nice night to the hostess on the way out and she couldn't even bring herself to look up from her phone to say good night. There's way better Italian in Naples where you won't feel ripped off.

I've wrote before about the other Café Luna location in Naples. I visited this one for the first time Sunday evening. My meal was great. The service was exceptional. I'm glad to see this location runs as well as the other.

The food was good. We waited 45 min to be seated. We ordered our food, got appetizers, and got them after about 20 min. The main meal ... It took an hour and a half to come, after telling two wait staff that we were still waiting for the meals and our drinks. It was loud, crowded, and really not worth the price, or the 45 minute wait to sit down. Maybe come when it isn't the Season.

Great for large groups. Be sure you specify which location as there are 2 in Naples and they are often mistaken for each other. 2 large dining areas, one with a full bar, another more dining but both casual. Menu is diverse, salads rock. Not crazy about their Gluten free pasta and pizza, have had it at both locations several times. I have returned to salads. I like this East location, plenty of free parking, not fighting the downtown traffic. The area is spacious and the decor is comfortable. Get a kick out of TVs in the restrooms. One can hang out there for hours. Service excellent, always greeted quickly and seated. Many locals frequent, not many choices around for this type of dining. Good for families and dates alike.

Pass if you want Italian food. We had ravioli, lasagna and tortellini. The raviolis were thick and pasty and covered in melted cheese. When the manager came over to see how the food was we let him know. I asked if the ravioli were frozen and he said yes. They get them from a supplier. We suggested other frozen ones from the supermarket that are better but honestly an Italian restaurant should have good raviolis. The tortellini were the same, doughy and pasty. The lasagna was made there but it was more like a pasta meat casserole not lasagna as there was hardly any ricotta. The salad and bread were good and at a previous visit the shrimp dish that my aunt had was very good. The wait staff were great and the manager we talked to seemed to appreciate the feedback. We really just want to find a good Italian restaurant in Naples. Our family is italian so we appreciate it done well.

Started with Bruschetta which was very good. 3 of us got different salads and all were good. I got eggplant parm which was very good and my 2 friends ate lasagna and gnocchi with a side of meatballs and cleaned their plates. Service and atmosphere were excellent

2.5 hours waiting for entrees that never came. No apologies given by management. No updates on the status of orders. This is the worst run establishment, I've ever been to.

Miserable Experience at best on Mother's Day. Mother In Law at 88 loves this place, maybe because it is one step away from Nursing Home quality. Mediocre food is one thing but the service was deplorable as our overly muscled waiter paid all his attention to two familiar couples while we waited 67 minutes for the entrees. The salad was wrong and gave up on getting it replaced while he cavorted with his friends. 23 minutes to fill a water glass is subpar service. But his favorite tables were bountiful with bread, water and their food timed in at only 21 minutes. The $20 price for Angel Hair w/white clam sauce was steep but the clams not plentiful. Very expensive. But with the older crowd all gushy over their bottle of wine, I guess the taste of the food and value is overshadowed by the drunken stupor they all seemed to have. Olive Garden might be three steps above this mediocre place. Mother In Law loved every grueling minute of the 2 hour experience, loved the food but did desire a dance floor and for people to dance with.

This review is just for the carry-out process. I did not dine inside. I'm glad to see Cafe Luna doing well that they thought to expand business to East Naples. It's definitely easier to pick up food at this location versus battling the crowd/parking downtown. When ordering on the phone, the hostess was very helpful and friendly. Upon arriving to the restaurant to pick up my dinner, the restaurant seemed pretty packed. The inside decor is very open and modern compared to its older downtown location. For carry-out, you have to go to the bar section to get your food. Big screen TVs and lots of football fans watching the playoffs. The bar tenders were nice, but the food did take longer than expected to be ready. Everything was hot and delicious though when we received it though, so no complaints there. Their garlic knots are my weakness!! Butter, garlic, and carbs....ughhh!!!

We tried Cafe Luna tonight. Just opened10 days BUT food is not good. Place was packed (seats 400 !!) I had Bolognese...much too mushy. NOT ALDENTE as it should be. Table of seven, all said poor to just Ok. Snowbirds are back, eat at home from your adopted ITALIAN wife. Real Italian....Cosmos on 41, just north of 41. Peace and Happy Thanksgiving.

My husband I enjoyed dinner here yesterday. I had the chicken Marsala and it was very good. The service was prompt and the beer was cold. I would recommend the restaurant and the chicken Marsala.

We had New Year's Eve dinner at this new branch in East Naples last night. I would describe it as a very good local eatery. Nothing too special, but a cut above the other non-downtown local places. In fact, one of the most attractive parts of the experience is that it isn't in the 5th Ave South district with its parking and crowding issues. As for the food, The bacon wrapped scallops were tasty even if the bacon was not quite crispy enough. Salads were fresh if not noteworthy. The Steak Diane was very appealing and well prepared and having asparagus as the side veggie is a really nice touch. Shrimp Fra Diavalo were nice and spicy. The service was attentive and smooth and the atmosphere tastefully casual. Overall, it's a good place that avoids the stress and pretension of downtown eateries. Try it, you'll like it.

My husband and sister were eager to try Cafe Lina as reviews were good. However we quickly changed our minds when our appetizer of large stuffed mushrooms arrived , only to take first bite to find they were cold and the mushrooms not even slightly cooked. We sent them back and told they would be replaced. The second time around they were small button mushrooms but cooked. Dinner entree of carbonara for my husband had to be returned as well as the pasta wasn't just Al dente but very undone. That was also replaced but second time not much better. I had ordered shrimp with fresh tomatoes and basil in a oil and garlic sauce that when arrived was loaded with canned tomatoes and really not what the menu described. Service was slow but friendly. As we were leaving we heard another patron ask the bartender, "You have a new chef? This food is cold". Unfortunately we will not return. There far too many other good restaurants in Naples.

This place is very cool with outside seating. We tried it out for the first time last night. I had a great meal and my wife loved the caprese salad. Our server was definitely new but very attentive. We had the owner and a manger come over to check on us. Apparently since they are so new that they admitted struggling with service but seemed to be working hard on it. I would definitely recommend them to my friends.

I know that East Naples Cafe Luna opened only a week ago, but I would have expected to see more wait staff and management presence. We were seated quickly but no one acknowledged us for at least 30 minutes. My husbamd tried to get the attention of a waitress but was ignored. Finally one meandered over and said that she would let our waitress know that we were there. Our waitress arrived about 10 minutes later. No one told her that she was covering our table. She was very apologetic and very nice. We ordered off the 2 for $29 special and don't think that we will be eating at this establishment again. The food was horrible and my eggplant parm was doughy and overcooked. The tomato sauce had a bitter taste and i am sure it came out of a can. Eww...The Cafe Luna in downtown Naples is a much better venue with experienced staff and management. I would recommend that you go there instead.

I came into the new cafe Luna because I really enjoy the one downtown. I was impressed with the look of the restaurant and did not expect it to be so large and modern. Yes it was packed when we came in but the server was able to tell us about the special and being new she at least knew to check on us and fill our waters. With any new restaurant they are working on a system and I look forward to returning to see the ongoing progress. The owners of this restaurant were there the night we were in and it was good to see that they are making sure that things are running the way they should and correcting any issues. I had the 5th avenue salad and it was prepared well. Yes I would recommend and I hope to return soon to see even better service. I also enjoy that they continued the live music like the downtown location.

My wife and I stopped in last night for happy hour and check out the new restaurant turns out happy hour ends at six while most end at seven To get to the bathroom you have to fight your way thru the waiters because the pos system they use is in the hallway to the bathroom. Then we ordered the wings mild and what we received was fried wings no coating and no flavor the only flavor was the grease they were cooked in. The good part about sitting at the bar is you had a front seat view of the waiters that you wouldn't see from the tables and what we saw just grossed us out. There was an older waiter training a new younger waiter on how to get a drink for the customer and as the bartender mixed the drink the waiter used the hand that he just scratched his head with to reach into the olive container he speared three olives put them in the glass and then he took the partially made drink from the bartender and then put the shaker on it shook it and poured it over the olives that had his hair funk all over them. We had intended to have dinner after happy hour but after seeing the way the waiters handled the products before they came to the table we left. I should mention that the bartender was very professional and pleasant to do business with its not her fault what the waiter did hopefully she has another location to pull her fruits and olives from that the waiters don't get their hands in

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
