Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Excellent pizza, very good service. This is some of the best pizza every time we come here. Great salads, sub's and some of the best Italian wedding soup I've had. Like most other pizza places, especially here in Florida, the crust underneath was a little soggy. Its something I've learned to accept. Maybe it has something to do with altitude. They have a decent wine and beer selection. Better than the usual. The Kona big wave was the special this month. Excellent refreshing beer. Anybody that can't enjoy this place and their food has something wrong with them. Definitely 4 star. Not even close to being less than a 3. They loose a star for being a little rough all around and not saying thank you/goodbye when we left. Give this place a try and you won't be disappointed.

I love Mt. Dora pizza. The food is delicious. It's a real hometown place. I've always had pleasant staff who are sweet and attentive. I really love KiKi and Cathy. They go out of their way to be kind and helpful.

well I have not been to the place itself but I was hungry one day and asked my sister to bring me home a sub sandwich of the same sort that she was getting..... I was starving I could not wait for the sub to get here I was so hungry.... I don't know what the sub was called but it had ham capicola provolone cheese and some raw onion and my gosh did it hit the spot I can't wait to go there myself and I'll update this!! 4* only because I did not go there myself but will definitely go see for myself and will inform you of staff cleanliness and so on.

Very good place to eat with more to offer than just pizza and subs. The lasagna is enough to fancy your appetite, while the chicken and broccoli pasta is a great break from your usual. Huge menu to certainly satisfy your taste buds. I just got hungry writing this so garlic knots, here I come!

My wife and her family love this place. I think it's more of a nostalgia thing, but keep in mind, I've never seen her family eat anything that didn't come out of a box or can. Here's the deal. Because they love this place so much, I have had the mis-pleasure of going there several times. I live within a few seconds of this place, so if I wanted something quick, I would attempt to go there. I have tried almost everything on the menu to have that one thing I could eat. It never happened. There has not been a single item that I have ever liked in this restaurant, and I'm pretty sure the staff is always pissed that people actually bother to order food. Besides Vincent's on 441 in Tangerine, this has to be the worst Italian food that I have ever had. It's really really really bad. Save your time and money, and don't eat anything Italian anywhere near Mt. Dora. Buy something from Stouffer's instead, you'll be much more pleased.

Not good as use to be. Just had meatball pizza, crust soggy thin as paper, meatballs bland. Service bad waited 20 minutes for drinks. Food over priced. Will not return. Food use to great here but not anymore.

Love the Vesuvio pizza almost as much as the brothers that run this place. Great food boys keep it up the good work.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. They are located in a plaza that has a big parking lot. The lot was very empty and we were wondering if they were even open because the restaurant looked closed. But, we pulled up and to our surprise, they were open. My wife ordered 2 slices of pizza and I ordered the lasagna. The pizza slices were fantastic. Thin and not too crispy. The lasagna was good. The bowl had a lot of sauce that was super hot, which is good. The bad was the middle of the lasagna was barely warm. Besides the temperature of it, it tasted good. We would definitely go back if just for the pizza.

I love this place. This place is a hole in the wall that you may never think to go in but it is well worth it. The ravioli is out of control, nothing here tastes like it is out of a box or can... if it is they have fooled me. Do not make the mistake of not getting the garlic knots, you will hate yourself if you skip them.

We drove back and forth where this place should have been, according to Yelp and my iphone. Finally we called the place and got directions (sort of) but the guy didn't seem to know how to get from 441 to their place. Finally, finally we found the it! Mount Dora Pizza and Subs is in a dilapidated strip center on the western side of Mt. Dora, off of old US 441. The place is small and was packed- a good sign. The service was pretty bad though, not only slow but somewhat rude. The waitress practically threw a straw at me as she ran away and when my hubby asked what beers they had she didn't say a word but stuck her finger on the menu he was holding to show him. She was busy and did get a little better as the meal went on but she totally cost the place a star. We ordered a large pizza and cheese bread. The bread was good and garlicky but was basically just bread with a slice or two of cheese melted on top. The pizza was decent. The sauce and mushrooms were both good but I thought the sausage was bland. Not by far the best pizza I've had. After two 5 star reviews maybe we just had too high of expectations.

I love Mt. Dora Pizza. The spaghetti with eggplant parmesan, calzone, and cheese pizza are AMAZING! I now live across the country, so the last time I was in Florida, I drove an hour and a half each way just to eat here. I would come here all the time if I lived nearby.

Hole. in. the. wall. Yes, it sure is! But it's MY hole in the wall. It's fabulous, fresh food for ultra cheap prices. I've been going here for twenty years. The good hasn't changed a bit. It's not fine dining but any means. It is GREAT good. REALLY good pizza owned by a local family. It's one of those places where I always see people I know. Always. It's like the Mount Dora version of Cheers. The only bad part is it's been really crowded the last few visits. How is that possible?! It's in the middle of nowhere. Ahhhh, I love it. Please ship two Vesuvio pizzas to Chicago right this moment. I would die a happy girl if that were possible.

Ok food, the subs and salads are good . I love the garlic knots! The resturant itself needs some updating, I'll be back for subs and salads

I went here for lunch today and the pizza was awesome. My Greek Salad left a little to be desired which is odd because I usually really like it. The service was good and the garlic rolls were amazing as always. I've been going there for 10 years now and will continue to go back. Awesome!

THE best pizza!!! Is there anything else to say...

Ths was our first visit to Mt Dora Pizza and Subs. Awesome little restaurant hidden in Mt Dora! Our server, Lashandra, was fantastic! The food was out quickly and it was hot and fresh. The greek salads were great (lots of feta cheese...yum). The pizza was very good (real cheese, lots of peperoni and authentic crust). I have to say that overall, I was completely impressed! I am glad to have found such a hidden gem! PS Lashandra went out of her way to make sure we were very well taken care of. Get this...we left an additional tip (on the already 18% added from restaurant.com certificate) and she ran out to our car to tell us that the tip was already included! Now that's honest! Great place...try it! You won't be disappointed.
