Ok, I'm usually very faithful to my burger spot in Fort Lauderdale, but being so far away we decided to give this mom & pop spot a try. First impression on walking in was not bad, you can clearly tell that the mom is the one with the all the personality, the guys were all pretty blah. I went with the Bacon Cheeseburger, they didn't ask how I wanted it cooked so they brought it well done, it was still pretty tasty! The fries are pretty basic, skinny & hot. She went with the Viva Burger which is similar to a "Frita" a blend of chorizo, meat & onions. It was good! Hard to keep together though it gets a little messy. Their fries were not bad and their truffle fries were better. Overall it wasn't a bad experience, the prices aren't horrible however I've never been a fan of selling fast food "À La Carte" burgers & hotdogs should ALWAYS come with fries. Separating each item just doesn't look right, not for burgers. I wish them the best of luck, but I doubt I'll return.

Pretty good burgers! Nothing out of the ordinary. The ice cream though is made in front of you and is a must try! I'd go back just for that!

The food was really yummy.. The ice cream was our favorite! We were a little bummed we heard there was a churrasco special after we already finished eating that we definitely would have ordered! They were also out of the Viva Burger so we'll definitely have to go back and try that! The staff which is actually a family was so friendly and welcoming which made waiting a bit for the food no big deal! We'll be back! :)

Other reviewers nailed it on the head when they said this is a hole in the wall place. It's in a very unsuspecting plaza, but a hidden gem nonetheless. I went in there for lunch because it's close to my house and the reviews were pretty good. I ordered the classic burger and truffle fries. The burger was cooked well, but the patty was a little too small for the bun. I'm not sure if I'm just eating burgers the wrong way, but there was plenty of bun left after the patty was gone. The truffle fries were really tasty! And I'm glad reviewers mentioned it because I would've just ordered the regular fries and missed out on their delicious truffle fries. I ordered my burger and fries to go and since everything is cooked to order, I had a little wait but didn't really mind since I wasn't in a hurry. I also noticed that they sold Nitrogen Ice Cream so I'm excited to try that the next time I go in.

This place was ok. Not bad, not great. Personally I prefer 5 guys even if it is a bit overpriced

Walked in and was greeted by the host behind the register. She was very nice and helpful. Ordered the bunless burger and my husband ordered the bacon cheese buger with french fries. Everything tasted good. Perfect for a quick lunch. And when I checked in, I got 10 percent off. Would come again. Want to try their N2 ice cream and other fries one day.

Absolutely incredible homemade fresh burgers. Out of this world ice cream- totally customizable. Service was friendly and attentive. Don't let the location fool you.

Great little place! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted. Menu was explained by a young guy that works there. I don't usually eat meat, but decided to try the Texas burger --- it was fantastic. My husband ordered the California burger, and also liked it. What I loved most was the truffle fries, they were amazing! Service: grea! They checked in on us, the cook also came by and asked us how everything was. This is a family owned restaurant , which I love. The location of it as not all that great (shopping center), but not bad for a lunch or quick bite in low key night. I kept one star because they were out of a few things (viva burger, which was the the reason my husband wanted to go there to begin with, and also the nitrogen ice cream, reason I wanted to go). In addition to that, both tvs were on, and really loud. I hate it when places have tvs blasting, as I feel they take away from family time. There wasn't an important game or anything, just background, loud background. I will return, as good and service were both good, possibly just to take good to go.

My boyfriend and I loved it here, we plan on going back as well as ordering delivery! I ordered a regular burger which was cooked perfectly and came with all the basic toppings (lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles) fries and a drink for I believe $10 and change. My boyfriend ordered the Viva Burger which is a patty made of beef, chorizo and pork.. His was really good as well, it comes with onions, some special sauce and those crispy shoestring fries. The restaurant itself is pretty small but inviting with large TV's and bright colored walls. Personally, I prefer smaller restaurants so I didn't mind, I look forward to returning and trying there Ice Cream!!

We came here yesterday for a quick dinner. The food is incredibly delicious, burgers made fresh not frozen. The loaded fries are great and so were the onion rings. We also tried the nitrogen ice cream (they have Nutella!!). Everything was absolutely delicious. Definitely coming back. Miami needs more places like this, with fresh food and a laid back atmosphere. Way too many chains in this city!

Had séen this place while driving in the area but never stopped in until today that I saw my fellow yelper reviews. Service was really good, Family Owned, welcoming people. I was excited to try the Salmón burger;however, I was dissapointed that after ordering it they told me that they had Run out. I chose the Turkey burger with guacamole but I think because I really wanted the Salmón burger I didn't enjoy the Turkey burger. Oh well, next time. My husband and son loved their burgers which I am happy because I really want to give them a great review. Fríes are good, cheese, truffle and regular ones. Finished Our meal with Nitrogen ice cream! Overall a good experience!

This was by far the best burger I've ever had. Cooked to perfection, the toppings were perfect. Everything was literally perfect.

We ordered to go and although it took a little over 15 min for the wait, my family and I thought it was worth it! We ordered the Viva Burger and the Truffle fries, everything was hot and fresh, and the taste of the angus beef combined with the chorizo Amazing!! It was a bit pricey but it beats your everyday fast food burger:)

Me and my wife came to Viva burger in an attempt to try a different place where to have a nice yummy burger. We were greeted by the staff members, in a warmth manner, and enthusiastically. Recommendations were made, and based on some Yelp advice, things were purchased. The burgers came out, and although they took a very long time, we attributed the delay to them being fresh and hand made. They told us they had no ice, for the drinks, which is a set back considering a properly served burger has to be accompanied with a cold drink. Now, the burgers themselves were really yummy!! flavorful and very well made, but the sweet potato fries were not fully cooked (fried) some were some were not. Considering the time we waited, I think there was more than enough time to make them soft and crispy. Overall it was an ok experience, and considering is a fairly new restaurant, they still have a few notches to adjust. I would definitely try them again though, the burgers were really yummy.

Stopped in for a quick bite based on the positive Yelp reviews! I was disappointed by fellow yelpers! It's family run and I felt like I was in this family's living room! The Father sat at a table watching TV on the large flat screen and mom kept walking in and out of the business talking to her kids the chef and cashier! The cashier wasn't the friendliest I had no idea what to order I think she could have explained the menu items! I tried the Viva burger which was similar to a Cuban Frita! It was messy, the patty fell apart, and very salty! The French fries were good thin and fresh! My bottle of coke was cold right from the fridge! Prices weren't bad! I don't think I'd go back and wish them luck!

Six stars! The best burger I've have ever had. The Viva burger truly is amazing, you must come in and try. And their truffle fries are out of this world. The best part is that now they have Nitrogen Ice Cream! This family owned place is a true gem, they are really welcoming and accommodating. They are open late and make deliveries! If you are in the area make sure you stop by and mention me.

Let me start off by saying the 3 star rating is in no way negative. I wanted a burger for lunch and this place was close to my job, and it satisfied my craving. The lady who took my order couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful and my food was prepared rapidly. The place is in a small shopping center I didn't even know existed, the location itself is small but nicely kept. The prices were decent, and if you compare it to other gourmet burger places it was a steal. I had the Blast burger? Without the jalapeños because I was worried it would be too spicy. Just the hot sauce was enough of me, personally. I brought two more orders of fries for my coworkers. All in all, everything was good. But not amazing or particularly memorable. I liked the burger but it could have had more seasoning. It felt flat even with the Sriracha-hot sauce combination. The fries were run of the mill, and I enjoyed the cheese fries but maybe they can do something more original than pouring a bit of nacho cheese on top. It wasn't bad by any means at all, but I wouldn't say the food here was the best burger and fries I've had. I definitely enjoyed my lunch, as a quick bite while on break. Unless I needed something close to work or was on a time crunch I don't think I'd return at leisure.

Viva Burger just became one of my Husband's and I's favorite burger joint. First time going & everyone was beyond nice and welcoming. My Husband had the Viva burger with the chorizo and Angus beef patty (1/2 pound & not frozen) topped with grilled onions, potato sticks, and their house made pink sauce, and I had the Texas Burger which was a 1/2 pound Angus patty (not frozen) with fresh lettuce, tomato, bbq sauce, onion rings with the beer batter and cheddar cheese. The food presentation was perfect, we've never received burgers that were so neat and not greasy yet juicy and flavorful. We both appreciated how they were obviously made with love & not just beef thrown on a greasy grill. We are already planning our next visit. AND they deliver!! No more being forced to choose between pizza or Chinese. Great family place ... Owned by a great Family.

I love this place and would give it 5 stars but today I came by at 11:30am and they were still closed (yelp says they open at 11am) then tried again now at 3pm and they are still closed! Out of business or ..... Problem resolved

I love mom & pop places like this one! Owners are very friendly. The burgers (I had the bacon, hubby had the viva) were very good. The truffle fries were delicious. But the best part was the ice cream!!!!! So creamy and amazing. A must try!!! Wish you guys tons of success. Thank you for introducing us to Nitrogen ice cream. I'm hooked!!!

VIVA Burger is amazing!! Must try! This place is a small and NEW burger joint run by local young guys. It's a walk-up and order kinda place and we waited about 10 min for 3 burgers for takeout. There are about 10 tables for seating & 2 TVs. The VIVA burger is loaded with flavors and the 1/4 lb is enough for a person. The California burger comes with fresh guacamole (not spicy) and was also very good. The truffle fries & sweet potato fries are yummy as well. Overall the price & quality are very good. I am happy to see & support mom&pops restaurants!!! Way to go boys! My only recommendation is to cook the bacon a little more :)

This spot has the best burgers! We tried the Viva Burger (made of pork, CHORIZO, and beef). It was juicy and so fresh! They make all their patties in house and you can taste the difference. We also had their mild wings (so good!) and the Fully Loaded Fries. The fries have pink sauce, sour cream, bacon, and cheese. You can't say no to that! It's a family owned business with great service and awesome food. We had all that for dinner yesterday and want to go back already!

I tried the burger and it was good but not great.I must admit the nitrogen ice cream is amazing . I am definitely going back for the ice cream. It's my new spot for ice cream .

You will not be disappointed. We went in looking for some food and we got more than that. The owners are so inviting, caring and nice they kept in making sure we were okay during our visit and even made us coffee. It was almost as if we were at mom's house or at your favorite aunt's house. I loved every single bite. I would recommend this to my friends and family members. Come check it out!

It was a Tuesday afternoon and I was on what seemed to be the verge of starvation, so naturally I Yelp'ed the closest, 5 star burger joint and dragged my hard-to-please mother-in-law with me! Upon arrival, we were greeted by both an empty room and a friendly cashier. Their prices are pretty standard, ranging from ~$6+ for a burger, and ~$1.50+ sides of fries. Their menu seemed to be nonexistent, which was weird to me because places that only make burgers usually have an extensive selection of specialty burgers. Their options were a regular burger, a viva burger, a bleu cheese burger, turkey burger, veggie burger, a California burger (just has avocado) and there might have been one more but nothing memorable. The differences between the burgers were basic add-ons like onions, pickles, or bacon. There side options were fries, truffle fries, loaded fries, and cheese fries. I ordered a regular burger with cheese, truffle fries, and cheese fries. Everything was out in about 10 minutes. By this time, my mouth was watering with excitement and I could barely contain myself. Unfortunately, I was incredibly disappointed. The burger bun was a normal size, but the actual burger patty was so tiny that I had to lift up the leaf of lettuce to make sure it was there. I couldn't believe it. $10 for a burger and 2 sides of fries is a standard price for a regular size burger but this burger was smaller than the 99c cheeseburgers at McDonalds. As far as taste goes, it was okay. I have made myself better burgers at home that didn't require me drenching them in ketchup to enjoy like I had to do to this one. However, that was probably due to the fact that I was basically just eating bread. The truffle fries tasted just like the cheese fries minus the cheese. They were a little thicker than shoe-string fries and according to my MIL, undercooked. Like another reviewer mentioned, the cheese was like movie-theatre nacho-cheese which is great on crunchy nachos but not so nice on thin, soft french fries. Upon finishing my meal, I felt pretty cheated by my Yelp family but when I went back to double check that I had gone to the right 5-star burger place, I realized that out of the 2 reviewers, one hadn't even ordered a burger. I guess this was my mistake. Next time I am craving a burger, I'll make sure to check out some place with a greater variety, quantity, and quality of burger. I really wanted to love this little mom-and-pop shop but unfortunately, Viva Burger just didn't cut it for me.

TLDR: MUST eat if you're in Kendall. Holla at the 1/2lb California Burger, and it's over. Tucked away, but 100% worth seeking out. They make everything right there made to order, and you can even upgrade from a 1/4 to a 1/2 lb burger on the spot if you so choose -- very awesome feature that let's you tailor to your hunger.

DELICIOUS !! My boyfriend and I were amazed as to how delicious both of our burgers tasted! He had the Viva Burger which was soooo tasty and juicy. I had to California burger which satisfied my craving, and the guacamole had so much flavor. Truffle fries were to die for! Nelson and his wife were extremely welcoming. Definitely coming back and letting everyone know that this is the place to have the best burger!!!

For those of you that read my other reviews you know that five stars is not easy for me to give up. We saw Viva Burger last night while driving to Chef Adrianne's for dinner (same shopping plaza). Today we decided to give it a try with the kids and see if we have finally found the right burger joint for us down in the Southwest. The restaurant is in a small strip mall with a few vacancies next-door, so parking was ample. You have a few picnic tables out front with umbrellas which we probably would enjoy when the weather gets cooler. Inside you have your typical walk-up counter with a window into the kitchen. There are a couple of high-top tables and several regular tables. We were greeted upon arrival by the owner and one of his sons. They were courteous pleasant and very welcoming. We spoke a bit about the Black Angus as well as their signature burger that includes chorizo. Being that it was our first time there we decided to try several things on the menu. We ordered the truffle infused fries, the cheese fries, the sweet potato fries, and onion rings. We also ordered a couple of the children's burgers a couple of double cheeseburgers and a classic burger. I've never had truffle infused fries and cannot judge these; they have a very unique taste though. The sweet potato fries were amazing cooked just right and just the right size. Crispy on the outside nice and meaty on the inside. The onion rings were of the frozen variety but they were cooked to the right doneness and paired well with the food overall. The cheese fries were good if you like nacho cheese sauce. The burgers themselves were all great. They were cooked medium and obviously hand formed. I pride myself on being a bit of a burger snob since it's my favorite food and this was a good burger. The five stars though are in large part for the food but also because of the service they provided and how refreshing it was to see a family working together to build a business (owner was later joined by his wife and other children). I wish them well.

The truffle fries are AHMAZING! And the Cali burger has such good flavor, everything combines so well together. I didn't have to add anything to my burger because it already had everything in it. Best burger place in miami and super close to home. You should totally come by and try it, it's worth it.

Great Burgers under 2 miles from home, how can one go wrong ??? The 4 and 5 stars reviews here are nothing but a reflection of the quality of the food and service that you get in this hidden Hammocks eatery. Went there last night and I am a fan, as is my wife. Congrats to Nelson and his family for creating a great place so close to us here in W Kendall, those of us that really don't enjoy too much having to venture East looking for places to eat nice comfy food. The signature "Viva Burger" is an explosion of flavors in your mouth !!! Highly recommended for those looking for awesome food.

Nothing special about this place, it's good, not bad , but no five start , I little bit pricey, I haven't try the ice cream, but then do look really good, different place, I always like those places were family work together, good taste like home, I do recommend.

A little conflicted writing this review on this very nice and humble family owned restaurant. SERVICE AND STAFF: Again this is a family restaurant so the staff is obviously friendly and nice. PRICE: This place is not a fast food restaurant so do not expect McDonalds prices. 2 burgers, sweet potato fries, and truffle fries for under $20 is standard. ENVIRONMENT: It's a small humble place, which I was expecting. It can fit maybe 8 people so unless you are eating alone you might want to take your food to go. FOOD: My girlfriend had the California burger with sweet potato fries. She liked her burger and said her guacamole was very delicious. Her fries weren't crispy but since we have trouble making crispy sweet potato fries we couldn't knock them. I had the blast burger with truffle fries. The burger was supposed to be spicy but I saw the cook with what looked like serarchi...and that was all that differentiated it from a regular burger. It was still very well cooked and tasted fresh, but felt no originality in the burger. OVERALL: Good, very close place to go to if I'm too lazy to cook my own burger or travel to a higher rated restaurant.

I was feeling sick with a cold. Ready to give up on life and everything I hold dear. Suddenly I was overcome with a strong craving for burgers. But I could not go outside...how could I? I was devastated by my cold and feverish feeling. Thats when I found Viva Burger online. From the time I called with questions they where very friendly, price was reasonable, the delivery time was about 40 mins, and the food was warm, tasty, and properly cooked. Thank you for saving a sick guy!

Great little spot in the Hammocks area where you can score a good burger for a good price. It's a mom-and-pop shop like the others have said, so it's not the most sophisticated of places. But a friendly staff that remembers their guests is always nice to see. Burgers were good although the variety is lacking but I do appreciate the 1/2 lb choice. No fountain drinks which was weird but they do have some bottled choices. My only knock is that I thought they needed to try a little harder. It had a feeling of a shop on Restaurant Impossible, they just need a little makeover and they'd be set.

Love this place! They have great service, friendly staff, and delicious burgers! I'm pretty picky with my burgers, and this place knows just how to do them. (they make their patties fresh) I ordered the 1/2lb viva burger (amazing!). It's made of beef, CHORIZO, and pork. I love cheesy, smothered fries, so naturally I ordered a side of the fully loaded fries. They have sour cream, gooey cheese, pink sauce and other good stuff on top. I have no complaints from this spot. Definitely recommend checking it out if your looking for a yummy new burger spot!

I ordered Viva Burger through Grub Hub, and I was very impressed with how quick the food was delivered. The deliverer was very nice and patient. I had ordered the sliders and the cheese fries, and my wife ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger and the truffle fries. I was disappointed to see my order had come wrong. I wanted my sliders well-done with only cheese, instead I received the sliders medium-done with onions, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes on it. The onions were chopped, so it was a bit of a pain to take off (I REALLY hate onions). Overall, my meal was pretty good. Not earth shattering, but worth the try. My wife enjoyed her truffle fries and her burger.

There are few places in miami like this. I was traveling to see my in-laws when i noticed the just open sign. I am a foodie adventurer so trying a new place is a common affair. Service was amazing, from the second I came in the door. The smell of truffle oil was in the air and my mouth started watering. I ordered a California Burger and sweet Potato fries. The fries were perfection. Crispy, light and creamy in the center. I ate the entire basket alone and I could have had another. The burger was cooked perfectly, lightly pink in the center and juicy. I love avocado, so added it to my burger was perfection on a plate. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza so tons of space and did I mention they have huge screens to watch the game!

There's something about mom & pop shops that i go crazy for. Viva Burger is a hidden gem in the Kendall Hammocks area. Everybody knows about McDonalds, Burger King, 5 guys etc., but people need to give places like Viva Burger a chance. Their meat is delivered fresh from a local butcher. They don't freeze their patties and they make everything else from scratch. I had the pleasure of trying their signature item; the Viva Burger. It's chorizo and beef mixed together and grilled with their special seasoning, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes and secret sauce. Absolutely amazing! If you're really hungry you can order the Viva Burger in the 1/2 pound. The family who runs the joint are the best people you will ever get to know. I've had the pleasure of chit chatting with them for the 3 hours that I was there. They know their guests by first name and what they usually order. Not a lot of places are like that. Their beers are served under 30 degrees so each sip/chug burns so good. :) Follow them on instagram for any specials or events going on. I highly recommend this place and the people. I love VIVA BURGER!

As people who like to support local business and who eat out a lot we went to Viva Burger hoping to love it. We walked in to an empty, very small space with loud televisions and the three employees (including the chef) sitting on stools in front of their computers. My husband wanted the house special, the Viva burger, but they said they were out of them already! Very odd, since it was empty! So we ordered our two burgers, one medium(leaning to medium-rare) and one well-done, and an order of truffle fries. Fries were really good! The well-done burger was also done correctly and was tasty. The medium burger came out brown, thru and thru, absolutely well-done. When this was shown to the employee, he apologized but never offered to replace it. The chef came out of the kitchen and sat back down at his computer. Case closed! If a place that basically bases it's sales on burgers can't do a burger correctly, with the only customers in the restaurant, then it is not the place for us. Sorry guys--try to do better and keep people coming back, not writing poor reviews on Yelp.

This burger joint is brand new. It's a mom and pop place, which I really like. The owners were extremely nice and very accommodating. I didn't try a burger because I wasn't that hungry, but I tried the truffle fries and they were delicious. My brother had the Viva Burger and he couldn't stop talking about it afterwards. What makes it special is that they blend beef with chorizo and a bunch of other good stuff. No worries, if you can't eat pork like me, they have other burgers that are all beef. I look forward to coming back and trying their sandwiches.

Well, was in the mood for a good burger and found this place on yelp! I didn't feel like firing up the grill so decided to find a local joint that could match up to my home made burgers. The pics posted by users looked good and so did the reviews so decided to give it a shot. Called ahead to order for pickup and was greeted on the phone by a somewhat annoyed guy, maybe the owner who knows! Placed my order with him and he was just rude, like I was bothering him. Usually at that point I would just say "you know what thanks for your time but never mind" and move on, but the wife and kids were starving so I pressed on. Read back my order and still he didn't get it right so anyways, past that point! Now to the food. Kids burger had no ketchup. It was supposed to have ketchup and mayo.?? The burgers were a descent size but just no flavor in there meat. Any how hopefully there food would improve in the near future to make up for there rudeness. For now I'll stick to my homemade burgers and fuddruckers from time to time!

Amazing spot, both food and service wise. California burger with the guacamole was cooked perfectly and had a great taste and complexion. The guacamole did slip out a bit at first grab but was so delicious I could not leave any on the tray with the assistance of a fork. Sweet potato fries were tasty, crispy and meaty, and just the right splash of salt. Very clean and homey, definitely recommend.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Viva burger.! The burgers are delicious, the service is great and the owners are super friendly. If you are looking for an extensive menu, this isn't the place for you, but if you are looking for good quality, fresh burgers definitely give this place a shot. We will definitely be going back for more!

Best burger and wings! The 1/2 lb burger viva burger is better then any burger restaurant around. The staff was very friendly and makes you feel right at home. This should be on your top places to visit, if you try it once you will fall inlove and want to come back for more.
