Excellent food and wonderful service. I dined here my last two days while visiting Miami. I wished I had found it sooner. The happy hour is a great deal, and my server, Tabatha, was extremely courteous and efficient. Tip: try the Asian tacos, and any of the appetizers to get many different tastes in one sitting. I loved everything I tried!

At this point, I would give them NO STARS if I could! Where do I begin.. I can assure you that this is worth the read before giving this place ( I can't even call it an establishment because there is nothing establish about this spot) a shot. I have been ordering regular delivery from this spot since they have opened. My delivery for two results close to $100 if not exceeding. THATS FOR TWO. When I have been to this spot physically, my tab well exceed the $100 not including my 25% tips. I believe in tipping good SERVICE. It's not their fault if the kitchen messes up constantly. The last time I was at this spot physically, I brought a good friend of mine after telling her how good this spot was HA! I was so EMBARRASSED after that dinner. It was an EMPTY Thursday night when we went. Both of us ordering multiple drinks chatting and ordering a good amount of food for two ladies. The simple request of "No Foie Gras on my duck and the tangerine sauce" was completely ignored by the kitchen. Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is when you are trying to introduce someone to a "good" spot and the spot screws up your dish?! Our server corrected this but it was a HUGE MISTAKE that should not have happened in the first place. If you like HYPOCRITE managers, order take out from here. Spend $83 to have them bring you duck and forget something as basic as RICE. Isn't that a great start to a Friday night?? Supposedly, the manager is sending "something nice" to make up for this but it has yet to arrive. It's been over an hour since he said this and is literally less than ten minutes down the street from me. That "SOMETHING NICE" just arrived. Insulted and disgusted is what I would use to describe this "something nice". How about getting the two side orders of white rice that was supposed to be with your original order over an hour later?! Oh wait, there's more! A HORRIFIC smelling I guess it was supposed to be fried rice? Whatever it was, it was drenched in cheap truffle oil that made both my husband and myself gag! I couldn't throw this "something nice" away quick enough!!!!! Needless to say I will NEVER be returning here. If you are brave enough to give this spot a chance, I suggest that you don't bring a date...maybe just a one nightstand.

The theme of the restaurant was cool, the sushi was good, and the service was also good. The only con is there is not a variety of rolls.
(3)Andrew O.
Love this place! Whether you're popping in for lunch, or stopping by for dinner before a Heat game, it's perfect. The wait staff is very nice, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I particularly like the drink selection (try the Heat Shosha) and the rolls are fantastic too (Yuba and Hurricane rolls - you'll find yourself in a good place). Great for casual lunch/dinner or a night out to impress friends/guests - can't go wrong, enjoy it!!

When you first walk in you see a conveyor belt of sushi boats but don't let that discourage you; walk to the nearest table and open up a menu of deliciousness. My mom, sister, and I all went one Friday afternoon and tried a few dishes that equally blew me out of the water. My mom ordered the Toban Yaki (Japanese-style fajitas) with scallop and shrimp. it did not have a tortilla like traditional fajitas but the flavor itself was so delicious you didn't need to wrap it up in carbs. The asian tacos were full of fresh tuna and lobster. The Dragoness roll was light and fresh. We also got the Lobster roll which was the perfect dish; a great serving of lobster all paired with a martini glass of a mini lobster salad. The service was really great as well- our waiter (JP, JB?) was really friendly and made really great suggestions (like the Dragoness!). We had a few people pass by our table and ensure that the quality of the food was up to par. Overall, it was a really positive experience!

Service was great the food wasn't. It wasn't bad it just wasn't worth the price. I'm sure you can find another sushi place with better sushi.

I'm surprised how Tokyo Blue Miami got such a high overall rating. I've dined at many sushi restaurants and this one doesn't even come close to be as good. I was most excited about their sushi boat conveyer belt. However, no one touched any of the food on the boats so it was the same thing going around and around. The maki rolls and sushi definitely did not look fresh at all. I bet I would get sick if I ate any of the raw items on the boat because it was sitting out for a long period of time. We decided to share the sashimi and sushi boat. We asked if we could opt for more salmon sashimi and were disappointed when there were only 5 pieces of salmon sashimi. The sashimi did not taste fresh and were a bit on the dry side. The boat also came with several california rolls. We thought this was weird since the menu just said sashimi and sushi. It took a very long time for our boat to arrive which definitely took a star off. I definitely would not consider this restaurant an authentic Japanese restaurant.

Funky restanrant. For starters the tuna tartare is so tasty. the tacos are truly delicious. I had to order two. There is not nuch suchi to pick from. My husband is allergic to crab & shrimp. The hurricane was absolutely amazing. I was not crazy about the seared scallop. Presentation was good. wish they had been cooked a little more golden.
(3)Gucci M.
Food is amazing truffle Fried rice is out of this world Bali lobster with yellow curry sauce I can have it everyday next time I will try the sushi it look very good
(5)Sarah X.
Im a fan. Dragoness Roll was beautiful and one of the most delicious rolls I've had in a really long time. Beautiful building inside. Decent music. Happy hour prices aren't fantastic. Nice place for a date.
(5)Dorothy R.
Went here with my parents thought it was great even though it was kind of a techno vibe. Staff was very accommodating and friendly

When I heard about Tokyo Blue opening and that they had the sushi boats, I was excited to give them a try. Restaurant opens at 4 we arrived like at 6:30pm and sat front row by the sushi boat conveyer belt. One thing I noticed was that the sushi chef really wasnt seen preparing the sushi. He was off to the back in the main kitchen. We each grabbed a plate of the $5 marked sushi. When my friend and I took a bite, we were so dissapointed. The sushi did not taste fresh at all! When we expressed our disappointment to the waitress she clearly told us that yes they prepare the boats but if they don't get eaten they keep circulating for hours. This explains the not so fresh taste. Ugh! I was disappointed and grossed out. So we ordered from the menu and the rock shrimp was delicious. I advise to order from the menu and skip the boats. But being that the boats is their novelty, I give this place a thumbs down. I suggest having a boats only time where we are only allowed to eat from boats and they are made fresh.
(2)Kubanych A.
Nice! Like it. But daytime is too slow to get so called "white plates". (( Any plates actually. You just get what you get. Even though I asked for certain things. I guess evenings are best time to try this place out.
(4)Anthony S.
Excellent Asian food with an innovative style and flavor. Cool decor, with sushi boats sailing by your seat loaded with tasty cargo. Duck appetizer and octopus carpaccio are two must-have specialty items. Seafood tacos, and Pad Thai noodle dishes are nice too. Ask for the chef's secret hot sauce! Service was the best it could be. JP gave us a guided tour of the menu. Great experience from start to finish!
(5)Peter Q.
Been ordering delivery from here every Thursday for about 4 weeks now and the food gets better eachtime. Love there spicy tuna roll, probably the best in brickell. I enjoy it minced which they do.. spicy tuna rice with caviar, could be my new favorite. I ordered the truffle fried rice with chicken. My wife loved it We usually order there land and sea pad thai. Another winner Oh yea, dragonness roll is a can't miss also. Really, with such a big menu I wouldn't expect all food to be so good, but tokyo blue hasn't missed yet. Hands best sushi delivery in brickell by a mile.
(5)Javy H.
Tokyo Blue Just walking through the door and already greeted by the wonderful staff. In less than a minute drinks where already given to me. I have ordered a sushi boat for two and it took No more than 15 minutes. Inside of Tokyo blue is nice with comfortable seats and a sushi boat river that makes this place stand out against other resteraunt's that offer sushi. Every piece was fresh and memorable. Tokyo blue is a wonderful place to go for a small birthday party or just hanging out with your friends or family. I would come back no doubts about it. The only things I found was the boat for two was a bit pricey for the amount you get but its the experience that matters!
(5)Leilani D.
Disclaimer: I love sushi rivers (or sushi conveyer belts, or whatever takes little plates of bite sized rolls or apps or whatever to my area along the bar). I know it's gimmicky, but ever since I first went to one of these places in DC, I was hooked. Now...the sushi river was the entire reason I wanted to check this place out. Unfortunately, it seems to be nothing more than a decoration as they had no food floating by. Maybe no food is an exagerration...there were a grand total of 4 plates with food on them in an hour, all four of them offered only a california roll, and we were so desperate that I think we grabbed all of them and then felt like we'd been coerced into it. They have a full regular menu that we were pushed into ordering off of. I asked at least a couple times why there was no food available at the sushi river bar and was told "oh just wait a bit...it's coming" which was some sort of weird lie. I've never been so disappointed so many times as I saw each boat turn the corner with an empty plate. If they're not going to stock this area, why let us sit here? Why not just move us to a table? The worst part is the food was actually delicious! We ordered a steak truffle fried rice and finally sucked it up and just ordered a dragon roll from the guy who looked like he should be plating sushi for the river and wasn't, and they were both excellent. Unfortunately, we were so disappointed at this point that this experience was ruined. Also unrelated, but when I first saw this place from the outside the first thing that came to mind was "rape-y". The weird blue lighting is not appealing at all. If I had sat at a table and had a regular meal I would consider coming back here. I guess that's a safe bet, just don't hold your breath for this sushi river.
(2)Nutty A.
Went with my girl tonight! Food was amazing!!!! We sat at sushi bar... I pretty much grab a bunch of food from boat! lol and we order couple thing from menu -Taste of Tokyo blue was excellent , there was 4 types of ceviche , my favorite was Thai ceviche - tenderloin tobanyaki was delish!!! And of course !! My Thai tea and green tea creme bulee was to die for!!!!! - please try YUZU DROP martini !!!!
(5)Daniel G.
Prob the worst order ever. Sea bass was bad, tuna was bad, and the shrimp tempura wasn't even cooked... What a waste of money!!
(1)Archana B.
Found this place through Urban Daddy. They've barely been open a week but great job so far.... Fresh sushi and I mean fresh... Great flavor profiles sushi chefs are right in front of you with sushi boats floating along a river ... Recommend sitting at the bar and watching the sushi boats go by. Pick plates as you like... Very well priced. Manager Nik took great care of us and recommended a few dishes which we loved including their ceviche. Spicy tuna on crispy rice also highly recommended. Great place! Will definitely be back again very soon. If you are looking for a new sushi place you must try this place.
(5)Walé F.
First time visiting this place, and all I can say is that the miso sea bass skewers are THE BEST THING I have ever put in my stomach, served hot and sizzling with a light glaze of aged miso...its a must try appetizer!! Also the service and ambience was excellent, if you like up beat cool places - try sitting at the sushi boat bar, and grab whatever catches your eye I also highly recommend the Miami Roll, the pad Thai and the spicy edamame. A job well done:) I will definitely be back for seconds:)
(5)Courtney N.
I wish I could give this place 6 stars!!! This new-aged Asian Fusion spot offers a wide range of sashimi, steaks, and delicious cocktails. My boyfriend and I started our vacation off right when we stumbled upon this hidden gem in a bustling part of town. We ordered 5 rounds of shared plates ranging from sushi rolls to teriyaki swordfish. Our absolute favorite was the Hurricane Roll, but the pork chops are not to be missed! The dishes were spiced to perfection, many of which included a delicious chimichurri sauce. The waitstaff was helpful and attentive from their meal suggestions to offering to refill our cocktails. This is truly a Grade A institution. Amid our dinner, the manager even made an appearance to see if the experience was up to our liking. A jovial and easygoing guy, we were very happy to have met him.
(5)Mark C.
Overpriced for what you get. I actually think their entrees are better than their sushi.
(1)David G.
Another low quality sushi place with fancy ambience. Not at all authentic. Spicy tuna roll tasted like it was premade and stored in the fridge. The seaweed so chewy we had to focus on not choking. Prices are on high end, and the food low quality and small on size. They called it "sushi tapas." Most ridiculous part was that we were the only customers, but were told there was only one table for us and that the others were all reserved. The whole meal, nobody walked in to sit and those tables were all still empty when we left. See the photo, it was like a practical joke. 2 stars just because the waiter did his job well.
(2)Eadonal ..
This is hands down the best Asian restaurant in the downtown area. I feel in love with the atmosphere and decor very relaxing. We arrived during happy hour pretty nice crowd. Even though JP our waiter was still very attentive. He recommend the scallop and lamp appetizers they were amazing
(5)Ana M.
Much needed addition to the downtown dining scene. The restaurant has a conveyer belt with passing boats with sushi on them, so you can grab the ones you want if you like the novelty of it and don't want to wait for your food. However, my favorite rolls are some of the special ones that aren't even on the menu (ask your server). Everything that I've tried is tasty and fresh (sea bass, hamachi jalapeño, ceviche, to name a few). I love their jazz night on Thursday nights where they have first class entertainment, singers, a band, and even tap dancers sometimes. Good staff too, the manager/bartender Nick is great!
(5)Zhou J.
I really love this Japanese restaurant in downtown . The food are extraordinary, especially the sleeve fish. You can check the photos I took and they will make you mouthwatering . The service was really good because she gave us a lot of smiles and cares about us a lot . We ordered a lot food and gave her good tips as well. I will definitely come back here again :)
(5)Marilyn E.
Service was amazing and not to mention the food and drinks. Five star place overall. Cool staff and environment. Highly recommend.
(5)Corrine P.
For only being open a short time, this place is already doing a great job. I highly recommended going here because the service is great and the environment is very welcoming. The meals leave you wanting to come back for more. I ordered the Seabass; not only were the portions perfect, the display was very elegant. Came back a few nights later for the bar, the bartenders were very personable and gave great recommendations. I will definitely be coming back many more times. One of my favorite spots to go on dates and out with friends!
(5)Michele D.
Great food and service!!!! Ask for the waiter Ebenezer for great food service and recommendations. Nick the manager is also accommodating and professional.
(5)Gianina A.
One word: YUM!! I just returned from out of town and was looking for a place to have dinner and wind down after a full day of travel and was excited to see that Tokyo Blue finally opened their doors in downtown. :) The decor and atmosphere were great, and the staff very attentive. I had an order of steamed dumplings and the crispy chicha duck along with some items of the sushi counter such as the bbq eel and tempura roll. The menu is very extensive, and there are a lot of other dishes I am dying to try, so I definately return soon!
(5)Ashia W.
Definitely must check this place out! Food was delicious and super duper fresh! We had the fried calamari appetizer which was cooked perfectly, the salmon sashimi melts in your mouth and the dragoness roll was just perfection. We topped it off with Thai donuts, so yummy!!! The ambiance was beautiful, and the service was outstanding, really just a great experience. Hands down best sushi restaurant downtown. Also a very romantic spot for a date night. Looking forward to trying many other dishes especially the filet mignon. It came out on a hot stone and you could control how it cooks! A really great dining experience, highly recommend if you are looking for a nice sushi date night place with equally amazing food.
(5)Liz T.
Dinner last night was amazing! The menu selection was outstanding. It was hard to choose because it all sounded so good. The miso sea bass was the best, the flavor was incredible. The service was superb, the wait staff was attentive and caring. The manager was splendid and treated us not as guests, but like family. The restaurant was elegant yet comfortable, making for a superb dining experience. For the quality of the food and the service provided the price was spot on.
(5)Lenny V.
I had a reservation at 6:30, I arrived early just to check out the place, and I was a bit apprehensive, when the place was empty. But when the waitress arrived, she was really nice, informative and gracious. Overall the service was great. Waitress took the time to explain everything on the menu. After 2 great drinks and feeling good, the food arrived and was great. The duck was fabulous. Overall, if you want to eat somewhere with great service, great food, not too noisy hidden places, this is it.
(5)Meagan S.
Great food. Ask the chef to make you something special, you won't regret it! Owner and staff are amazing - just want to please customers! Lobster ceviche was incredible. Try the lychee martini as well.
(5)Tabatha R.
So my first time at Tokyo Blue Miami was amazing!!! I sat at the sushi moat and had so much fun. Eb was such a great and informative server.. I had the raspberry sake tini which was awesome!! The sushi is so good and fresh! Overall an Amazing experience!!! Can't wait to go back and try more things on that menu!
(5)Rafael S.
Friendly attentive service. The lunch specials are a good deal. Excellent Bento Box. Good price. Hope the music was more calming.... Will come back.
(5)Gabriel H.
Great great great great!! I really totally recommend the Tokio Sushi Roll, it's awesome. The presentation of the Lobster Roll is incredible!! Only thing is that the price is not well calculated, as it was approx. 50 p/p (w/o drinks)
(5)Les B.
New restaurant in the area so I wanted to try it out and the food was amazing! I had the hamachi jalapeño to start. I love spicy food and it has a light delicate spice that anyone would enjoy. Next, I went with the massaman curry with sirloin. One of the best curries I've tasted. Very rich and full of flavor. Definitely a must have. Overall a great experience, chill ambiance with good food, music and a cool parade of floating boats.
(5)Pam C.
The food and the service both outstanding. We tried the Sea Bass and Crisp Baby Boc Choy both amazing, and the Sushi fantastic. We will definitely be back
(5)Iris Q.
The Hawaiian rice is too salty, flavor is too strong for me , won't come back again. The waitress is Yawning while taking order.
(1)Henry H.
First, ALWAYS CHECK YOU BANK STATEMENTS AFTER GOING HERE! !!!! Ive been here several times and every other time they seem to double or triple charge me. I have to call my bank constantly after going here. Dont know if they try to rip you off and mess with you or if their accounting department is retarted. Second, the sushi boat bar with the stripper lights is a gimmick to get you to walk in. Theres never anything on them except a plate with kale and a wedge of lemon. If you ask when they will have something they will just say "soon". I dont get it because there is usually 2 chefs standing behind the bar working hard. No idea what they are doing tho??? Third, the sushi rice is bland. Any place that cherges this much and try to have that fancy South Beach cabaret look should at least liven up their sushi rice with a little rice vinigar and some sake. And last, I will admit that beyond the overly done look and lackluster sushi boats ( god i miss Ozzie Sushi) they do have good food if you order from the kitchen. There nigiri is bland ,bland, bland but if you order from the kitchen you will like it.
(3)Brittney Bailey G.
Our server JP is awesome. Very attentive and pleasant. I'm here visiting in town and so glad I came here
(5)David R.
I'm giving this three stars instead of two because it was a Friday night and I want to cut them some slack. Greeting: Friendly but distracted. Service: Inattentive, uninformed, hesitant--maybe she was new. Food: Tasty, but I've had better. Presentation: Nice and artistic. Problem with the boats in the moat--only about 1/4 were filled, and several items made the rounds untouched for the 2 hours we were there. Where's the quality control? We're talking raw fish sitting at room temperature for more than 2 hours in a Japanese restaurant. We're never going back.
(3)Jorge M.
Had an amazing time this thursday night for latin jazz night. The owner Chris was a gentleman who personally came to our table downed 3 tequila shots with us and kissed my girlfriend in the mouth. Then went to the next table and had another shot. Amazing! Food was to die for. Music and service also a+
(5)Jamie L.
First time visit Miami with my family total of 5. We had our 1st dinner at this place. The food is good, but the service is very bad the lady who served us with a bad attidue. On top of it they charge us 20% gratuity. Very disappointed.
(1)Joshua G.
This place is fantastic!! From the servers to the chefs to the owners! The food was amazing, the truffle fried rice was to die for! My server went by the name of EB, this guy knows what he is doing, awesome service to go hand in hand with the Amazing food. I have been around great food my whole life seeing my Dad is a High end chef, I was really impressed with this restaurant and will be coming back all the time!!!
(5)Marco C.
Defdefinitely a very good experience a good new option in downtown Miami I went and had sushi roll some chicken and shrimp pad Thai and the truffle fried rice that was amazing the food is on point!! Great sushi and the location for me is awesome chase I live in downtown! Exexcited to come back and try other dishes on the menu I'm sure he'll be as amazing as the ones I had tonight great spot
(5)Alex K.
Best sushi boat ever! Sushi boats are so rare these days in Miami unless it's that disgusting, awful sushi boat: Katana Restaurant! The decor is very modern and awesome. They have a sushi boat bar with sushi appetizers and tables. I had some sushi. After I ordered the Surf 'n' Turf. Best steak and lobster ever. I honestly love places like these. I highly recommend it!
(5)Dee H.
The worst Japanese restaurant I've ever been to. The Miami roll was bland, and the miso soup was too salty. I ordered the Wagyu beef not knowing it was going to be 6 thin strips of cold expensive beef that tasted like freezer burn. The steamed vegetables arrived late after I was done eating my tiny beef portion, and it was steamed with absolutely no flavor. The edamame was good. My husband had the sea bass, it was good. The pineapple rice was bland except for the bites that had pineapple in it. When the bill came out to $110. I couldn't believe they could charge so much for poor quality food!!!!!! Never again!
(1)Grace T.
The service was excellent. We ordered the panang curry and the pad thai. Both were very rich in taste but both were salty.
(4)Lauren C.
This restaurant is five stars all around! Rarely in Miami do you get a wonderful waiter, cuisine and ambiance all in one. We walked in on a Monday night and were immediately seated. First look at the menu and there were so many options! They have cold and hot small dishes, curries, Japanese barbecue, sashimi and sushi - all of which I love. We got the kanisu and the naruto rolls and the crisy duck to start. They. Were. Amazing. Not all restaurants make rolls in cucumber so we were thrilled that they did! We then had the dragon roll, the steak, salmon and chicken skewers. They come on a sizzling hot plate and were juicy, perfectly seasoned and crispy! We also tried the Japanese eggplant (another item we LOVE) and it was delicious. Our waiter, I can't remember his name, was fantastic. He was so kind and on top of everything. They leave a pitcher of water at your table so you can fill it up yourself, which I think is a great way NOT to waste water! Everything we had tasted fresh, innovative, and had a flare of Miami. This is a great addition to the other restaurants on this street (ceviche 105, pollos y jarras). I will be back in a heartbeat. Basically - if you enjoy Japanese cuisine and want to try something new, this is your place. You will not be disappointed.
(5)Nick G.
Exactly what the Downtown Miami area needed. Tokyo Blue hit the spot last night for dinner. We started out with the Hamachi jalapeño... Delicious. Then our server recommended the miso sea bass and crispy rice spicy tuna... by far the best recommendations one could ask for. After our apps we ordered the Tokyo Blue Roll, great presentation and an even better taste. In between meals we tried a few of their specialty cocktails; Tokyo Rose and Yuku Drop. Both very tasty and went good with every serving we had. Then came our table top robata grill with a juicy piece of filet mignon followed by a grilled pineapple with fried rice on the inside. The presentation of both these dishes itself was jaw dropping and the taste was out of this world!! Overall; staff, ambiance, food and drinks deserve well over 5 stars!!! I would definitely recommend anyone that is in the downtown Miami area to check out Tokyo Blue.
(5)Michael F.
Great atmosphere!! Friendly environment & terrific customer service! The food menu is very selective & its presentation is amazing. "Hats off" to the chef
(5)K K.
Great service, delicious food! We will definitely be back soon! Our server was so friendly, we absolutely loved the Tokyo Blue roll and the Lobster roll. Great atmosphere as well!
(5)Mariana R.
I went to this place for an early lunch and it was empty. We were pretty much the only table at the restaurant. The sushi boat bar was not working at that time. From the name do not think this is an authentic japanese restaurant. The bet dish from what we ordered that day was the Pad Thai. Pad Thai was served in a generous portion, good to share; it had a good amount of big shrimps and chicken. I also tried a shush roll and a rick shrimp fried rice, the rice was better than the roll, but nothing exceptional. If you are visiting this place I would recommend you going with Thai dishes.
(3)Brent Z.
Calamari appetizer was amazing. Sushi was good but not quite Upton par with the calamari. Did I mention the calamari?
(4)Adrian T.
AMAZING!!! NOTHING LESS THAN AMAZING!!! We came in for lunch and were in a little bit of a hurry because we had a meeting to catch. We walked in and were greeted by a welcoming hostess, when we were asked if we would like to sit at the sushi moat or did we prefer a table, of course we chose the sushi moat. The waiter approached us moments after we sat down and explained how Tokyo Blue was more of a family style restaurant and the food comes out as soon as it's ready so that everyone can share. Then he began to briefly explain how the sushi moat works, which is the greatest idea ever for someone like me who's always in a hurry. Our waiter JP told us that we take the plates as we go and they are colored based upon price which is printed on the menu. So my boss and I decided to grab a few plates off of the moat while we waited for our Pad Thai and bento box to come out. We ended up with a huge stack of plates because we wanted to try everything. The entire experience was amazing from the food quality to the service plus the ambience is phenomenal! I work 2 blocks from here and will be returning at least 3-4 times per week for lunch and probably once a week for dinner. TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY!!!
(5)Scott B.
The food was pretty good but I feel that when you're spending big $'s for drinks and eats that the extra $3 (twice) for real wasabi was a little over the top
(3)Dennis F.
Stopped in for a snack wit my wife while in Miami last weekend. We had the Tokyo Blue roll and a couple pieces of Hamachi sushi. Service was great. The décor is nice and the sushi was fresh. The roll has tempura flakes and they tasted burned and greasy. Kind of ruined the taste for my wife. Once we left them off, all was ok!
(4)rae m.
loved the crispy rice spicy tuna entree, and the ceviche entrees. I WILL return soon!
(5)Derek Y.
We ordered rolls but they should really be called half rolls. To make them look bigger they sliced the pieces very thin. We were not fooled.
(2)Al N.
Great find. Had the crispy calamari it was delish. The avocado salad and kanisu were very well prepared. Wife had the lobster roll beautifully prepared. I had the Pad Thai with seafood and the slection of rock shrimp, scallops and mussels were very high quality. The manager Nick was very welcoming and polite. Overall a great meal.
(5)Roberto R.
not speaking these other people but i was there grabbing for a few days i I loved the place and its food
(5)Shawn N.
I've been all over the United States and eaten sushi in just about every major city. This was by far of the most memorable and delicious sushi experiences I've had yet. Not only is the service excellent, but the culinary food presentation was unique and picture perfect. A date night willing to impress anyone in Miami! ;)
(5)Ailun C.
nice display, good environment~~not much taste....lol
(3)Jennifer P.
Unfortunately I was a little underwhelmed with this restaurant after all the rave reviews. I actually would give this restaurant 3.5 stars, but since that isn't an option I just can't in my heart give it four. In general the quality of the fish was good. It tasted fresh, but flavor just wasn't there in most of the dishes, especially for the price. The calamari was the best thing we ordered, it was fresh with a good texture (not chewy at all), strictly rings. We also ordered the salmon carpaccio, which was recommended. The carpaccio had caviar on top and we went with the more expensive caviar garnish, however it could barely be tasted over the ginger dressing that consumed the dish. We also ordered the crispy spicy tuna rice appetizer after having read some reviews on here, again, not blown away. Finally, we did order the Dragoness Roll which was decent as well. Grabbed a few plates off the revolving boats, and while fresh, they lacked flavor. I am not sure what I was missing from this restaurant. It wasn't bad by any means, it just wasn't great. Service was very attentive although it took awhile for our drinks to come out. I ordered the lychee martini that fell somewhat flat for me, with tons of that lychee grit but no lychee garnish. It was like that first date you go on where there's no fireworks but the guy seems nice enough...just not nice enough for a second go round.

Recently tried this restaurant, sadly I was not impressed with the food. Although the fish was fresh the dishes didn't really stand out. The service was good but it did take a while for us to receive our drinks. If I were to be asked to choose a place to eat sushi sadly this place wouldn't fall in my top 5.

When I asked the hostess, who took my order, what nigiri sushi was she said "II really don't know". When I asked what type of sashimi they would put in the sushi sashimi combo she didn't know. When I asked if I could just have tuna and salmon sashimi she had to check with the kitchen first and then told me that "it would be a 4$ up charge" which would make my lunch about $18. That they don't do substitutions without a big "up charge" is a major disappointment. I couldn't place the order since they couldn't accommodate my request. It's really too bad because I'd been waiting MONTHS for this restaurant to open.

Very mediocre in every aspect imaginable. They must be advertizing with yelp to get this much love. I'm not compelled to waste calories here again.

Food was awesome, great attention, and the owner seems to want everyone to have a great time. All the seafood was really fresh. Nice tall pours on the drinks. Will definitely return.

This place is an absolute Gem. The owners, Sean and Lisa, were there, Introduced themselves and honestly treated us like family. The decor is sophisticated and intimate and the music was upbeat, current and awesome...the DJ knows how to make a room vibe. The service was impeccable...our waiter (i think his name was eliazar?) went out of his way to make good recommendations and familiarize us with the unique way they serve the food...not exactly Tapas but designed for sharing. Food was absolutely delicious...amazing use of flavors, shapes and concepts...truffle fried rice dish served as a pyramid...so cool! They even brought a delicious dessert with birthday sparklers for my friends birthday without being asked. Haven't felt more welcome or more pampered in a long time...definitely TWO THUMBS UP!

Yuck. I recommend you to go to the cvi.che right next to it. Food is ok but too expensive.

Ok food. A bit expensive. I took the seabass with balsamic teriyaki sauce... It was really seabass with balsamic vinegar and steamed rice... Nothing more.

I finally made it to the Miami location, (I'm a regular at their Fort Lauderdale location) after months of waiting. My favorite part about the Miami location is the Sushi Moat. They have boats flowing in a river with plates of sushi on top. You can grab whatever you want off the boats. The plates are colored and each color represents a price which reflects on the menu. So we sat at the bar and started with they're special cocktail of the day which was the Raspberry Saketini. It was very light and refreshing, which was a great way to get my tastebuds and pallet going. I started with 4 different plates from the sushi moat (tuna sashami, spicy tuna rolls, wakame salad, and salmon nigiri) as I was waiting for my slow roasted chicha duck and the octopus carpaccio to come out. After I devoured those my husband and I ordered the Seabass Balsamic Teriyaki as well as the Massaman curry. The Seabass had a golden brown glaze on the outside after it was grilled to protection then topped with a 25yr old aged teriyaki sauce ( that's what our awesome waiter Steve told us) OMG!!! By far the best Seabass I've ever had!!! My husband ordered the curry and he said that he has never had anything like it in the USA. We have traveled to Thailand many times and he and I felt like we was back there. We eat out 7 nights a week and this will definitely be on our weekly schedule! I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!!!

Solid sushi spot in Miami. Great atmosphere and food. It's more of an experience than just a meal. I use California sushi as my baseline, however, so it's hard for me to give any spot on the East Coast 5 stars.

I wish there were more stars to give! My husband and I went for dinner and sat at sushi bar, I am pregnant so I had to ask them to make shrimp tempura, it got real busy real quick so they took a little longer than usual but they sure did make up for it...the owner, chef, bartender, hostess and waiters were amazing, after several plates from the river boats the owner gave us the seabass skewer on the house and OMG it just melted in our mouth. The bartender gave us the Octopus carpaccio wish was delicious and then to top it off as we were paying the chef comes with an out of this world dish! We were in such food coma I don't remember the name but it was 3 large shrimp/crawfish on top of a black pasta...simply amazing! The food was spectacular and the entire staff made you feel amazing. My husband and I could not stop talking about how great our date night was at Tokyo Blue and will be sure to tell all our friends and family! Highly recommend it!

Coming from Sam Francisco to Miami for the first time, this was my first stop. Not far from the hotel and good reviews on yelp, so I figured "why not?". This place was GREAT! My friends and I had an incredible experience w/ great service and food. We even met the owner, Sean, who personally made sure we had a great experience. Can't thank the crew at Tokyo Blue Miami enough for a great first Miami experience!

went there for lunch and ordered the tokyo blue sweet and sour chicken lunch special for $12. it comes with a miso soup so it was a good deal. however, the sweet and sour lacks seasoning, and they don't have ramen soup for a japanese restaurant. another thing is that the servers seem like that they want us out of the place, and it wasn't that busy so it was somehow rude since me and my friend were taking our time to catch up.

I'm a little surprised that this place has nothing but 5 star reviews - I'm not sure where they're coming from. Its extremely over priced, even for happy hour. We went just two of us for happy hour (4 drinks, a sushi roll, and an appetizer) ended up costing $80. The food was decent but nothing remarkable. The best part is the ambiance, the restaurant is beautiful inside and the boat bar is very cool. I live right down the street so I wish this place was more affordable because I would go all the time.
