Taurus is the best spot in the Grove hands down. Every Friday I look forward to grabbing a seat outside with my friends where we exchange stories and enjoy drinks (they have a great happy hour btw, and the service is awesome). It's a cool spot to gather with friends and people watch. Also the bar menu is yummy. Not to mention you can order from Calamari next door and still enjoy a laid back vibe. Friendly neighborhood bar which is pet friendly too. Yay!!

OK, so this place is a very laid-back, comfortable local dive. Nothing fancy, but the perfect place to start (and perhaps end) your night at. I went on a Wednesday, which happens to be Karaoke Night. I arrived a little early, so the DJ was just about to set up and the 50-year-olds were just about to wrap up their night. I figured I'd have a couple beers before heading over to Whisky Wednesdays at GreenStreet Cafe around the corner; my goal was to grab a bite and come back when the crowd young'ed up a bit. Upon returning with a full stomach (and numb liver, thanks to a few whiskies), I noticed karaoke was in full effect. I quietly sang along with the brave souls that wielded the mic, but as the beer flowed, my singing grew louder. I did not drink enough to go up there myself, especially since the people who did were surprisingly good, for an inebriated bunch. Really, really good, in fact. I almost felt like they were cheating; it was like if Dwyane Wade showed up for a middle school exhibition game. Hell yeah, I'll watch, but it's still unfair. By the way, the bathroom is shared with Calamari, the restaurant next door. If you head trough the back door leading to the patio, you'll see two bathroom doors in front of you. I know it goes without saying, but make sure no one is using it before you open the door! I carelessly turned the handle and found two girls in there one time, and the drunk one kept babbling on about how she thought I was going to take her virginity. I was sure someone had beaten me to the punch long ago on that one, but my bladder had no patience for arguing with drunk logic. I just chuckled as they stumbled away and went on to relieve myself. On the flip side, make sure you lock the door when you use the bathroom so no creeps try to sneak in to pop your cherry. Anyhow, the night was fun, the crowd was friendly, and the drinks were alcoholic in nature. What's not to enjoy?

Great place! It's fun, you can drink for cheap and the food is very good. They share the kitchen with Calamari and they have a great menu. I have tried the burger, tuna tartar and their great selection of beers. I recommend going on a Wednesday night, it is Karaoke & Ladies night.

I have to admit I hadn't heard of Taurus until recently, when my friends celebrated their engagement here, but it turned out to be quite a decent neighborhood bar. The brunch deal is good - $30 for an entree (I had the classic but delicious eggs Benedict) and unlimited mimosa, bloody's, etc. Pros: true to its name, the beer and whiskey lists are extensive! They don't have their own kitchen but you can order food from the restaurant next door. And last but not least, they're dog-friendly! Cons: our server was cool and interactive, but service in general was very slow. I know we were a semi-large group, but it took about 20 minutes between the first and last dishes that were served. I also found it a bit dark inside, considering it was a sunny Sunday morning. Maybe the outdoor seating is better for brunch. Overall, Taurus is what it is - a bar. I liked the simple, unpretentious atmosphere and wouldn't mind returning to check out its nightlife (and burgers!) during a karaoke or trivia night.

Nestled on the edge of Coconut Grove, Taurus appears to be the ideal spot to meet-up with friends and enjoy a libation or three. Yes, it's true, the drink menu does boast a somewhat impressive list of beers, whiskey, scotch and bourbon, but be sure you do your own homework! Why? Because the folks behind the bar are only there to pour various liquids into your glass & collect on your bill. The saving grace is the food - the sliders, the tuna tartare, the hot dog and one or two more items are pretty tasty! But don't ask the staff for recommendations - this is a figure it out yourself kinda place! Lastly, we come to the valet parking! For $6 they'll park your car in the bank lot next door, but at the end of the night, you'll get the chance to retrieve it yourself - feel what it's like to be a valet, if only for a minute or two! All in all, we'll be back for the drinks, but on any other night but Trivia Night, and we'll Uber it there!

I absolutely love this place and the burgers are delicious. The staff is friendly and the manager is very attentive. My only complaint is the cleanliness. It is REALLY dirty. One one of my visits I was sitting on the front patio and keep noticing debris in my drink - it was coming from the rafter above - just falling into our food and drinks. On another visit I sat on the back patio and you could see all sorts of carts and dirty equipment stashed against a wall. I love dive bars - and will be back - but to the management at Taurus - please - it's time to clean!

Taurus is the closest thing you'll get to a Cheers-like place where everybody knows your name. Taurus has been there for many years & if you're a regular, you'll be treated more like an old friend rather than just another customer. I go here frequently with my father, who always seems to know everyone there. I've never had a bad time & always left with a happy stomach. Taurus isn't very big, but it's vibe is very relaxed & that's a rarity for a place right in the heart of the Grove. Taurus has a nice bar with several beers on tap, great food (especially their Burgers & Chicken Strips which I have uploaded many photos of) & they are dog friendly so feel free to bring mans best friend. I recommend going on one of their many themed nights. I have gone for the trivia night & it was great. Tonight was a Luau theme which was a lot of fun. The whole place was covered in tropical stuff & the servers & bartenders were decked out in leis. The vibe at Taurus is something you'll have to experience yourself so go check it out!

After getting off to a confusing start everything was perfect! We walked in and it's very dark, in smelled pretty bad inside like sewage, but with the perfect weather we decided to eat out front. We sat outside for a few minutes before walking back inside to see if we were doing something wrong or out of the norm of the "locals" this time we were acknowledged and given some menus and assigned a server, everything after that was great! Our server was extremely nice and professional, he recommended the Tostones for our appetizer which were delicious! You think meh it's just Tostones right? But they had garlic & chimichurri which give it a wonderful taste. For our dinner I had the Blackened Chicken Strips w/ fries and she had the Fried Fish Tacos. Both equally delicious! And cooked and presented perfectly! The server informed us that they share the kitchen with the restaurant next door. For being a Whisky Bar they serve up some very good "Bar Food" and the location and atmosphere is secluded and ideal for a nice time. I would definitely return. They offer 15% off your entree with a drink of Whisky.

I like it, I really really like it! This restaurant is off the beaten path of what are considered the more poppin restaurants and bars of coconut grove and I gotta say it works. I stopped by on a saturday afternoon and choose to sit out on the front porch area. Even with other groups of people sitting around I felt like my friends and I had the area to ourselves. I wanna start off by saying that the food was amazing! I had the margarita pizza which was not only delicious but also generous in size. My friends all had burgers and they all were raving about how good they were. The beer menu is great with a large variety to choose from which makes it perfect for all types of beer lovers. The service was great and we even got a little background history about the place. Atmospher was so chill we actually stayed here chatting longer then we originally intended. I would definately love to come back and maybe hangout in the back area that just opened up. I like the concept this place has going for it and the fact that it's not your typical miami scene makes it that much better. Also, being the animal lover that I am I give this joint extra points just for being dog friendly.
