About Taco Bell
Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.
The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.
Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Since its opening, I had always seen this restaurant but never tried it because it didn't look appealing to me and I'm not a huge Mexican food lover. But one day, my bf and I decided to give it a try. Once we walked in we were greeted by Julie, I believe is her name, and she was very sweet. She informed me that this is a family owned restaurant. I also saw her father helping out customers order their food. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Julie explained the menu and advised us on getting certain items. I ordered a chicken salad, and my bf ordered 3 chicken tacos. Just a heads up, the chicken is a little spicy. But I guess that's what you expect from a Mexican restaurant. My salad tasted very fresh and light. My bf enjoyed his chicken tacos, and also believes that the food tasted healthy and light. This is the type of place you go when you want something light and fresh, without hurting your pocket. I would come back.

This was my second time here and I really debated if I wanted to even come eat here this time. I decided to drop in and see if I could change my mind about how I felt, wasn't worth the money. They're a little pricey for quality of food they're serving you. Also, The taste of the food is bland and seems as if it's missing something. Save your money and go to a local mexican restauran honestly, chili's and even taco bell would be better choices. The only reason I didn't one star this reveiw, is because they tried with their customer service.

Hmmmm so I'm still wondering how two small Mexican grill bowls & 2 juices came out to $24. And on top of it all, the girl who prepared my bowl didn't ask if I wanted guacamole & then I was told it would be $1.87 for this embarrassing serving. Needless to say, didn't purchase it. No bueno in my book. In regards to food taste, there really wasn't anything that sets this place apart. I am Hispanic, we cook flavorful food and you can tell this is a Hispanic establishment that is just lacking. Upcharging for every little thing does not show that you appreciate the customer. You still have much to learn but you are lucky you are in a mall across FIU that will bring you some type of traffic.

The food was amazing!! Had the big men burrito and it was great! He place is clean which is a HUGE thing for me The lady was very professional and asked us if we needed help with the menu which we did The meats are hormone free and gluten free The have a kids menu which helps for the little stomachs Will I be back? Absolutely!
(5)Joelsy R.
Definitely not Mexican food Taco Bell was better than this sorry to say they gave me some green spicy sauce and some red ones it tasted like it was watered down had no flavor. And the Nutella cheesecake roll definitely was nasty did not taste like Nutella

I came here for the first time and definitely won't be coming back. The portions are super small and it really bother me the guy who was making my tacos even returned some of the little meat he had put in them to his tray.... I guess one pound of meat is supposed to last for 100 customers???... I asked for guacamole and its $1.75 extra for two mini mini spoons... Not happy and sorry but won't be recommending and I'm not coming back...

I usually grab a sub before I hit the books in FIU so I just happened to be in the shopping area. I'd noticed before that this place was under construction so when I saw it was open today I decided to try it out. Today happened to be opening night! Lucky me. The staff is very friendly and the place was full of people. I took a look at the menu and the taco trio stood out. Considering the name of the place I figured this was a fine place to start. So it all goes down like this: You get hard shell by default so if you like soft shells be ready to request it. You then specify what meat you want (choice between grilled chicken, spicy chicken, steak, or pulled pork). Once they've loaded you up they pass your plate over to the toppings station where you'll have some standard options as well as some premiums. The standards are pretty standard. Finely shredded cheese, lettuce, some corn salsa.. Now on to the premium toppings. They didn't tell me and it wasn't specified anywhere but it is a separate station and it is EXTRA. You've got your choice of pico de gallo, guacamole, as well as some red and green sauce. I got grilled chicken with shredded cheese, lettuce and pico de gallo which was recommended by the employee. The total was just over $8 but I received a 10% discount for having my FIU ID. I've gotta say that the taco shells were perfect. They were fresh and not too crunchy. Great taste. The chicken was a bit dry but no fatty chicken which I appreciate. Pico de gallo has some cut jalapeños that give it a nice flavor but don't add much kick. In all sincerity, I prefer the pico de gallo I make at home & the chicken from chipotle is better. The meal was a little over priced but it was not bad. I don't think I'll be a regular but if I'm in the area and I want a fast taco I'll drop in.

Do not waste your time! HAIR IN MY CHICKEN. Save yourself the disappointment and stick To local Mexican Spots. Guacamole isn't fresh they let it sit all day and serve it browned. Worst experience I have ever had at a Mexican fast food restaurant. The children working there have no idea what the menu offers or how to communicate with a customer. They packaged my salad bowl without proper "takeout" containers to the point liquids were spilling on the counter and I had to ask them to wrap it again. They charge over $2 for a bag containing 12 chips. I tried to buy more after and due to the minimum on card I couldn't. ( nor would they give you any when clearly I was making an effort to spend More) When I got home I open my salad and began eating and regretfully find a long black HAIR STRAND baked into the grilled chicken. I am appalled that any owner of a business would hire staff that cannot comprehend fast food service let alone I am disgusted to have found the hair in my food. Waste of my time and money.
(1)Debbie L.
Really enjoyed my chicken quesadilla - opted for breast meat. Staff was really nice.
(4)Angelica P.
I knew that this place was going to be a bad choice the second I saw the amount of greasy juice the meat was sitting in. But I tried not to judge a book by its cover, and so I began to order a burrito. They allowed you to sample the meat, and it was evident that the quality is very low. (but I'm not one to say no thank you after initiating the process of ordering) They charged a $1 extra for beans, corn, tomatoes, and a few pieces of avocado, which I thought was a little pricey for the quality. But what killed me what the price at the end! After all the add-ons I needed about $9 for the worst quality burrito I've had in a long time. That's maybe the same price with chipotle that's 100x better and organic. I will not be going back unless they improve the quality or drop the prices.

Was excited to try this place out. I have been on a burrito bender these last few weeks so having another place to go to is always nice. The place is large, well lit and in a strip mall with plenty of parking. All pluses. The waitstaff was all very friendly and accommodating. Plus Plus As for the feed? It was good. I have just had much better burritos at other places around Miami. My portion was kinda skimpy for a vegetarian burrito. And the girl rolling it didn't seem to know how to do it well either. Took her a few tries to get it done. No complaints, but it definitely had a college cafeteria vibe to me. If I am in the area I would have no problem stopping in a for a cheap bite to eat. But it's not good enough to draw me back.
(2)Arthur S.
This place is gross. Might as well go to Taco Bell, you'd actually save money. Also, Staff wasn't very helpful. Both my girlfriend and i were very unhappy with this place.
(1)Sandro G.
Been coming since they have opened and every time is excellent if you're in the area try it out, you won't be disappointed and Food and staff was on point and great!
(5)Adrian U.
Despite the semi negative reviews I decided to give this place a chance. I walked in and was promptly greeted by one of the workers. I decided to play it "safe" and go for a burrito. This restaurant kind of follows the model chipotle has which is a "build your own" burrito, taco or whatever. At first glance the options honestly didn't look visually appealing, I decided to go with white cilantro rice, fajita chicken, no beans, a special red sauce they had, cheese and sour cream. Like I said very basic and "safe". The worker ringed me up and I got a 10% discount for showing my FIU ID. On top of that, if you check in through Yelp it opens an offer for you to receive a free soft drink with an entree purchase. My initial experience of the lack of visual appeal for the ingredients display melted away the second I took the first bite of the burrito. It seemed as if every flavor was blending just right. On top of that even though this is a burrito, every bite felt so light and clean (we all know how bad we feel when we eat something extremely greasy, this is the total opposite feeling!) It was a delicious burrito and it definitely made me consider this as a new go to place to get my burrito fix. I would definitely recommend you try it! P.s. The Nutella cheesecake fried pie they have is amazing!
(4)Michelle S.
This place was a rip off and didn't seem very sanitary. All of their containers stay open on the counter as oppose to Cantina they have the lid you place on top of the containers which makes sense! Who would want to pay what they charge for crusty beans sitting in an open container! I came here cause I saw great reviews but I have no clue what those people were thinking. Must have been people who work there that wrote the reviews is my only guess.
(1)Cindy L.
It's an okay place. Came on a Thursday night right after work from FIU. Greeted by staff as soon as I walked in and took a second to review the menu. The pictures look good , I ended up getting the grande platter with ground beef. I really wanted some rice in the burrito but was informed I couldn't :( so a little sad. The taste of the food was okay nothing bad nor nothing too great. I'm not too sure if I would come back here again I would just make the drive a little further to chipotle . FIU students get a 10% discount when showing ID. :)
(3)Lauren D.
Taco Maker is essentially a knock off of Chipotle or Moes- but it is decent food. There are more topping and meat options than the other places, just not quite as good. However, it's close to FIU and open much later which is awesome. I've been a few times and I'll continue to go. They serve breakfast too which is nice.
(3)Emilio P.
Walked in after spending the day at the fair, didn't know what to expect. Found an awesomely friendly staff. Great service. The Chicken tacos beat the ground beef tacos in flavor. Excellent value for the meal. Deserts were OK but the cortadito was on par with quality coffee makers! I'd certainly recommend this spot!!
(5)Jorge M.
Excellent burrito and tacos plus they deliver. What could be better.
(4)Kyrene G.

love the pricing on food! Good College environment as well.

I had the 7.99 burrito platter with steak meat for an extra dollar. Everything about it was excellent. I chose the regular flour tortilla and it was very fresh. They were extremely generous with the amount of steak in the burrito. It was pretty much overflowing with steak when I cut into it. I rarely doubt if I can finish a burrito but this one had so much meat I doubted myself. The flavor of the meat and the two different sauces green and red were so delicious that I finished the whole thing. The beans were also very fresh and had a perfect bean to sauce ratio. The only downside to the platter is that its a bit low on the rice and bean portion. But honestly it had so much meat that it made up for it im sure I would've had leftover rice if they added more. Overall i was extremely satisfied everything was very delicious and i left feeling completely full. The restaurant is squeaky clean which is a big plus. The staff was very friendly and provided great service. I would recommend this place to everyone.
(5)Melanie V.
Best Mexican food in the Westchester area! I had recently first visited the restaurant and instantly became a regular there. The food is aaammaazing. The service is great, and the place is clean. Totally recommend the king sized nachos and the burritos. Oh btw, college students get a discount.
(5)Ashley M.
This place rocks! The customer service was great and the food was fresh and delicious.
(5)Javiera M.
This place rocks! I got the Grande Quesadilla Platter and was huge! The meat and everything was fresh. The customer service is super nice! I really recommend this place.
(5)Ana E.
It is way to expensive for what it is. Everything is charged extra and the food is not that good. I wouldn't go again
(2)Giselle G.
Had the burrito and I din't think it was great =( a bit disappointed
(2)Charles L.
Good food and good prices. I would recommend a salsa bar though.
(4)Aurelio C.
Good food for price! I got a discount for beign an FIU student! The portions are good and food is fresh, to me the best part is that you can pick what goes into the burrito or taco since its a subway style restaurant
