We come here for lunch every so often and normally the food is ok. Nothing great but today it was horrible. I ordered s plate with teriyaki chicken and the chicken was literally inedible. I'm not one to complain but it was just sooooo bad. I couldn't cut it with my knife, literally. It was like a sauced piece of rubber. I ate my rice and veggies and left the chicken untouched and mentioned it to the waiter when he picked up the plate. I saw him let others know and no one cared. No one came over to apologize or even comment on the situation. If you are in the area and want Thai head to Nikko. Much better quality.

I really don't understand why this restaurant is having some bad reviews, I just had my second experience here and it was awesome, as an appetizer shumai, which are great. As an entree you can order the Orange Roll and you'll enjoy it, that's for sure. If you are not a sushi person, you could try some yakisoba or steak teriyaki, they're both great options to order! And don't miss desserts! You definitely must try their tempura ice cream and their molten lava cake, they're just AWESOME!! Still good service, waiters are very attentive!

Great service and ambiance, however the sashimi was extremely fishy and sushi wasn't up to par.

It is very, very unfortunate I am having to write this review. After 5 years of enjoying Sushi Siam via delivery we opted in skipping the waits around the neighborhood and dine in at the 5% occupancy Sushi Siam. Our portion of the check ordered 2 rolls and the chicken pad Thai. The rolls were ready to be served in a matter of minutes after placing order but for some reason were left on the counter waiting to be served with the hot plates?? We suggested to the ear plugged waiter that the rolls were ready but he assured us everything would be served accordingly. Unfortunately he was wrong. Piping hot pad Thai came followed by two sushi rolls that had been sitting on counter for a minimum of 20 minutes. Very, very poor experience and will not be going back, or ordering out for that matter. Ps. Service was terrible and a glass of wine and 16oz beer had to be brought to plugs' attention. Hate that was in group, otherwise would have disputed the 15% service charge or lack there of.

Ok they have a huge potential here.... First time at this location. Ordered my only dish I always order. Lobster roll. Generous portion of lobster. Tad over-fried for my taste but hey it's better than soggy/greasy. I do recommend this dish. Rice needs to be cooked w bit less water tho. Enjoyed the meal overall.

I was pleasantly surprised with this spot. Sushi is one of my favorite meals, which also makes me very picky. I found this sushi quite good. The spicy tuna roll is very good along with the dragon roll.

Food is delicious! Medium spicy is H-O-T!! Love eating here as a treat as a tad in the expensive side.

IF I CAN GIVE IT ZERO STARS I WOULD. Do not go to this Sushi Siam. This is hands down the worse one I've ever been too. I would much rather suggest you go to the one in South Beach. The drive is definitely well worth it it. At this one you will have nothing but terrible food, shitty service, and a HUGE HEADACHE! Besides the fact that I couldn't understand a word they were saying because none of them spoke english they got my whole order wrong. It was completely undercooked. I got food poisoning. A request to upgrade white rice to fried rice was not possible. Mam or whatever her name is (the manager) I asked to speak to was a complete waste of time and help. I should've just left the restaurant and not paid for anything. Someone should burn this place to the ground.

My favorite lunch spot in Brickell! Amazing service, amazing food, and amazing prices! The lunch specials are to die for, try the Glass Noodles with Beef or the Garlic Sauce with Beef! I've never had a bad meal here, and I eat here around twice a week for lunch. Also, for those who love spicy food, order your meal Thai Hot and they really deliver! Love love love this place, I will be going for as long as I work and live in Brickell.

A decent sushi joint..I'm always down with some salmon sushi and you can't really go wrong with that in Miami.. The steak was lackluster, it was not great quality meat. I asked for medium and it got overcooked cooked in a weird way and was a thin piece. I think it's interesting that it's also a part Thai restaurant although I didn't get to try any of it.

The Thai and sushi menus are pretty comprehensive. The music is a manageable level and suitable for conversation. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. I would return.

Food is incredible, service was amazing and quick. Miami usually sucks when it comes to quality and efficiency this place gets 10 stars in book.

Needed food at 3:30 p.m. and decided that sushi was going to fit the bill. The restaurant was fairly empty so the service was excellent as we had a waiter all to ourselves. We ordered quickly and the food arrived quickly. Two appetizers, 2 rolls and 2 pad thais later, we left the restaurant well satisfied. Very pleasant experience.

Sushi Siam is one of my go-to spots in Brickell for lunch. Calling in is best because most orders are usually ready in 15 min or less. Great thai & sushi lunch specials until 3 p.m. (which are huge portions and you can usually get away with having enough food to last you two days!) but I usually go for the Kake Soba, which is buckwheat noodles and veggies paired with a warm, comforting beef broth. Service is always quick and to the point. Definitely recommend for a quick, healthy and satisfying lunch break.

Sushi Siam is my go to spot for fresh sushi in the area! It's great ambiance and great service are unparalleled! Food is always beautiful & super yummy!

One star for location and atmosphere. Another should be half a star for service which is sometimes good and sometimes bad...food? Horrible! Sushi American style I guess? The actual roll pieces are huge difficult to shove in the average non Steven Tyler sized pie hole. And worse of all. I don't know how come this place wasn't shut down yet by the health department because the fish is in borderline putrefaction status. All my co-workers like to eat the greasy fried food there (ew) but that's NOT sushi ppl! May I suggest they take the name sushi out and operate only as "Siam"? Yes I believe that would be more fair, no?

Not worth it. The food is very inauthentic. I ordered larb gai and it come out as some chicken and ginger stir fry dish. Flavors were totally off.

I've ordered from sushi Siam many times as well as eaten at the restaurant. The food fluctuates from satisfactory to excellent. The delivery is usually blazing fast. Tonight was a different story. Long story short, it took one hour and 50 minutes for a delivery to Brickell key. This is a 10-15 min walk, much less drive. I think they forgot about us. While they were nice on the phone, I could tell they were blowing me off everytime I called after the meal was more than 30 min overdue. They offered a 10% discount for all the trouble. I told them to give the entire bill to the staff as the restaurant did not deserve it. I won't be ordering from them again. I advise you not to as well. I gave them 2 stars for the past successes.

    (2)
  • Ingrid R.

They are deserving of 2 stars for the following reasons: 1. They are conveniently located in Brickell (close to where I live and work) 2. I've always experienced solid service The sushi is nothing to rave about and it's overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a sushi restaurant in Brickell worthy of anything above a 3 star rating (I haven't tried NAOE yet but I'm sure that's the only exception).

lets just say that i have a terrible luck when ordering from a restaurant i never tried before, but this time things changed & Sushi Siam is surely about to become of one the places i go to when craving thai or a great sushi roll! i ordered for delivery thru Postmates and thought i would give this place a try as it was so close to where i live but i never got a chance to try it before today. I tried out a couple of items and was overall impressed! I have to say that i personally think the Dragon Roll was one the best i ever had! another dish i really enjoyed was the Pad Thai (i ordered the one with shrimp), the chicken terriyaki was good but not as great as the previous two. but one thing i did not like was the spicy beef salad ( keep in mind this was my 1st time to try a spicy beef salad). Overall i will definitely order again for takeout or perhaps dine at the brickell location! give this place a try if you still haven't :D

Sushi Siam, you are great! We went for a date night and Sushi Siam did not disappoint. The restaurant was not that full and we were sat immediately. We ordered some drinks and they were brought to us in no time. I can't quite remember the names. All I can say is that none of the drinks disappointed. Well worth $12. We decided to order the gyoza and the siam beef jerky. The gyoza was really good and so was the beef jerky. We also shared the masaman curry. It was soooo spicy (for me at least). Service was on point though! Our waters never went empty and they were attentive without seeming too eager. The bill......was a little higher than I'd like to see for a date night, but when a restaurant has such great service, I really don't mind.

This place takes care of all of my lunchtime sushi cravings, especially since it's only a few steps away from where I work. Every time I come here, it takes a while before a server comes up to take the drink/food order; however, the food is prepared fairly quickly. They have great lunch specials such as sushi rolls, rice with selections of honey chicken, sweet and sour chicken, beef, etc and noodles. I usually order the honey chicken with brown rice. This also comes with your choice of salad (has a very tasty ginger dressing) or a soup. The lunch portion is big enough to leave you full but not overly stuffed. My other favorite, which is usually why I come here, is the dragon roll. Fresh, delicious and a huge portion. I think this is the best dragon roll in all of Brickell. The shrimp tempura is always crispy and never soggy, and the roll itself is about 10 pieces. My only pet peeve is that they do not remove the shrimp tail, but come to think of it, I don't think any sushi place does. Now, if you still have room for dessert, order the Thai donuts. Do it and thank me later.

When going out on a date, you always want to experience something different.... something magical. This place has a warm and inviting ambiance. Perfect for a date, but not nesessarily magical. My server was extremely pleasant and knew exactly what to recommend off the menu. I had the lobster roll and garlic scallops. The lobster roll is large enough to feed 3 or 4, which I did not expect since it was meant to be an appetizer for 2. The Garlic Scallops was alright, but the mushrooms that were cooked with them, were to die for. Thumbs up on the garlic sauce!

Not the best Thai in town, but very good. Frankly, we were not going to Sushi Siam - I have my own favorite Thai restaurant in Town, so we were going to Gran Inka... Well, I was surprised it was closed, and Sushi Siam was next door, so we gave it a try. The place was huge, clean, and had a very large patio - with very few people inside. We ordered a fish soup, papaya salad, duck curry and sauteed squid. Papaya salad was good, fish soup (don't remember the exact name) was AWESOME, squid was OK. The duck curry was... well, the sauce was good - never tried this particular sauce, and it was almost too sweet for my taste - but didn't cross the threshold though, and was very good. The duck was a very decent portion, but was not as meaty as the duck at other places and was a bit overcooked. So, the entrees were OK, but the soup... I dream about trying it again! (And I am not a soup person.) The best was I could describe it as a Peruvian parihuela with coconut milk added in.

I've been here many times before but tonight I'm am most disappointed. Service was not attentive even though the restaurant only had a few tables. My server was argumentative and when asked about a simple menu deviation he simply said "no, not possible". Sadly I've been put off a place that I once called a "must go to" place.

Nothing bad to be said about the food selection. I do find the sushi overpriced, as is the rest of the menu.

A bunch if us ate here for NYE because we have a party in the Plaza building after. They place was 80 percent empty when we got there. They gavel us an awful table so we decided to get us and move to the table across that was more comfortable. The owner decided 10 minutes to come over and tell us the table we weere at was deserved. Reserved by who and that exact table. Note: we also had made a reservation for our party. So how did they know to reserve that exact table, and why wouldnt you just give them the one with the same amount if seats we didn't like? Also, the food is awful!

I do not know whats really up with this restaurant. The place is so hit or miss like Hanley Ramirez at the plate. One occasion I will go in and be amazed how good it is and then the next time I will question myself as to why I ate here. The last few times the service has been slow and I was pretty much ignored for long periods during dinner. I almost had to go up to my condo and get myself a drink. I don't know if I have to go in here with Tong Po from Kickboxer to get some love or what. The sushi is more times than not the same each visit. The restaurant offers a wide variety of sushi rolls and the fish is fresh. The Thai food is very inconsistent. I love fried rice but sometimes its more oily than the waters of Alaska after the Exxon Valdez oil spill. Same goes for the curries and pad Thai. The Sushi Siam in Key Biscayne is much better than the Brickell location and from now on I will stick to the KB location. Its pretty much like watching Kickboxer with Van Damme and then having to watch Part 2 with Sasha Mitchell, far from being the same.

I first went to Sushi Siam 12 years ago in Key Biscayne when I first moved to Miami in search of some Thai food. Having moved from San Francisco where there is a fantastic Thai restaurant on every corner, I was quite disappointed, so much so I steered clear of it since 2001. Come 2013 and I am working down the street, I decided to give the Brickell location a try. Sooo much better than the experience I had in Key Biscayne many years prior, now it is one of my favorite lunch places on Brickell. I love the spicy sauce with pork native thai hotness, one of the spiciest dishes I have come across in Miami. Sitting outside on a sunny Friday at lunch time with the Brickell ladies walking around dressed to the 9's, I am a fan.

IT'S A BRICKELL THING. I had lunch with a friend at Sushi Siam yesterday, and the food was good, but I walked away feeling like I'd paid too much for an average meal. We found a spot in the sun with good people-watching. I ordered a glass of Riesling and a Thai lunch special with tofu and spicy sauce. My companion got a sushi special and a Kirin light. The waiter disappeared for a while and returned with an excuse about how he had to go to the back to open a new bottle of wine or some such nonsense. My $9 glass of white wine was not as cold as I would have liked and not worth the wait. Lunch specials come with soup which was nice on a crisp winter day, but our meals arrived about 1 minute after the soup was served. I didn't want to eat cold soup or cold tofu, so I really didn't appreciate the almost simultaneous presentation. Portions were very generous. We each ended up taking about half of our meals home. The sushi was very pretty, and my dish was just what I'd hoped for: tasty and flavorful. All in all, it was a nice meal, but I'll try some other places on Brickell before I go back to Sushi Siam.

This location is a wild card. I recommend sticking with the sushi which has been consistently good. In the past, I've dined-in and ordered a Tom Kar Pla soup; it was basically a salt lick. Today I ordered delivery Shrimp Pad Thai and it's extremely spicy....I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT COMES SPICY! Strictly stick to the sushi here which is really good and AVOID any other dish if you're not up for a disappointment.

I find this place to be vastly UNDERrated. No one I know has ever even mentioned it. The quality, authenticity, portion size, price, and convenience factors are amazing. The place always seems to be empty! But the menu is enormous - japanese, chinese, and thai options abound. The rolls are mammoth-sized - definitely enough to share. The king of the sea soup is "mild" by Thai standards but I could barely breathe because it was so spicy - yet delicious! I've never been disappointed there, whether by the food or service. It's just a really good option to fall back on. It's not glamorous, it's not trendy, it's not over-the-top; it's simply a REALLY good sushi place in the heart of brickell.

  • Whitney K.

While not being particularly memorable in comparison to the other alluring sushi dens in Brickell (I don't want to say I'm psychic, but I know you either just thought of Doraku or Zuma. See! You did it again! Gawd, I'm good), Sushi Siam is a solid option. The food is fresh and flavorful, although the ambiance doesn't stand out in my mind. Their Thai dishes are as good as their sushi, so don't let the name fool you either. If I had to say one thing, I'd tell you that you probably won't be disappoint, nor will you be blown away. And don't underestimate the power of their delivery service; it could save your life on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

This is my lunch destination of choice down in Brickell. I work in the Conrad building and it's a short walk to this popular eatery in downtown Brickell. They have a fantastic selection of sushi and Thai food. I eat the Thai food and in particular enjoy the skirt steak with spices and peppers with white rice for $16 on the lunch menu. I have yet to be disappointed by any of their appetizers or dinner items. The atmosphere is laid back and classy. This restaurant is suitable for dates or group gatherings. Around dinner it tends to get quite busy (which is always a good sign). So be willing to wait if need be, its well worth it!

If you're looking for a swanky brickell lunch, sushi siam is it. The outdoor seating is perfect for this Miami weather, but its extremely over priced and the sushi is good. But doesn't blow me away. The ONLY roll worth bragging about is the Red Dragon Roll. Its a nice ambiance and good views with decent (but overpriced) sushi.

Seriously, worst service I experienced in a long time. I headed there with two coworkers on a Friday for lunch. Obviously it was packed but like any other restaurant in the area. We sat at a table pointed out by a waitress and asked the waitress to bring our drinks while we looked at the menu. Drinks never came. The waitress came back close to 15mn later (without drinks) and took our orders. Our waters arrived after some more time as for the food...one hour later! Come on! We were the last people outside, empty tables and the waitress telling us "it's coming" several times when we gave her "the look" as she ignored us and never apologized for the delay. At least when the food arrived it was good. I had the chicken curry with rice ...very spicy but awesome taste. My coworkers had sushi and sashimi: very fresh and tasty I was told. Still, I can't help but judge the restaurant on the service alone. Even to get a refill of water it felt you asked for the waitress to give you her first born! You would have to convince me very hard to go back.

I didn't love it or hate, although I tend not to trust asian restaurants that have too many options, like Thai and sushi. Kind of spendy too.

Inedible $20 green vegetable curry. Yes. It was really $20. Seriously one of the most disappointing attempts I've ever had the misfortune of tasting. I don't know if they have people cooking who are really familiar with Thai food or not, but this made me think twice about giving crossovers japanese & thai places a chance. (I mean they are REALLY DIFFERENT countries with totally different palates. Just cause we in this country classify this as 'asian' or asian and southeast asian, does that really mean they should be trying to deliver both in the same place?) Dry tasteless brown rice. Undrinkably oversweet and poorly made lychee cocktail. I'm super sad because I have Thai food needs and this seems to be the only joint in the area offering Thai food. Friends of mine with reliable tastes have also told me that they really like this place, so here's hoping it was just an off night. I don't know if I'd brave it, if for nothing else, it's way overpriced.

I live in the plataza building so I always wonder about this place, yesterday I finally try it on and I regreat, I order a boat for 3, for what they charge me $97 and not only that it was a bit expensive, the sushi was really bad... I will not even put it at the same level as publix sushi... I will keep going to PF chang that is so much better than this place. The only good thing was the server who was very kind.

    (1)
  • Amber L.

I'd give it a 2.5 if I could. I work in the Brickell area- I go here because it is close and has great outdoor seating. I have never had a problem with the service and the lunch specials are fairly priced and filling. The flavors are not overwhelming, but it scratches an itch and is prettier and a wee tastier than Sushi Maki (which is only one step above publix sushi imho)

I have totes been denying Yelp for a few months and I am back with a vengeance, people! I came to Sushi Siam with a few co-workers about two weeks ago for lunch and the pad thai there is bomb.com . It comes with a salad or a soup (I chose miso soup) all for about $12-14. Very reasonable for lunch on Brickell. As yummy as the food was, the service was seriously lacking. It seemed like there was one server for the entire restaurant, so that was a bit of a bummer. My friend asked for hot sauce and the server came back 10 minutes later when she was halfway through her meal. No bueno! There's $3 valet parking at a hotel next door (I believe it's called Plaza), but there's a sign in front of Sushi Siam letting you know the exact name. I'd definitely come back here for a quick bite on a weekday.

Note: It wouldn't let me rate this property with 0 starts. So I had to go with 1 star (1 star too many in my book). Solid 0 stars. On previous occasions the food was underwhelming but passable. Overpriced. But location was convenient as I live in Brickell. However, the last time we called in to pre-order our food and eat at the property. That was against policy since we may not show up which is a valid concern. We said they can charge our credit card and that we would be 10 minutes away, we just wanted them to get a head start on preparing the food so that we wouldn't have to wait once we get there. The manager then came on the phone and reiterated. I asked her whether they had room in the restaurant to accommodate us (2 people) which they had. I asked what the difference was to ordering take-out where they take the credit card information and allow people to order over the phone vs. ordering over the phone and then instead of take-out sit-down and have the food at the restaurant. Against policy. Needless to say that we went somewhere else and will not frequent this restaurant anymore, nor will we recommend that to friends and colleagues who are looking for food options in the Brickell area. Sorry for the rant... but things that don't make any common sense just annoy me.

This restaurant is excellent. The food is delicious, the service is phenomenal, and the ambience strikes a balance between upscale and causal. I attended Sushi Siam while on a business trip, and I dined at the bar. The person who waited on me (Jay) was very friendly and attentive. He recommended a delicious dish--pad thai with tofu--even though this dish was not on the menu. I would strongly recommend this entree as well as the banana tempura for desert. This restaurant is good for vegetarians and also for groups. It has a full bar, and offers take-out service.

I've been to several Sushi Siam in Miami and I must say that this one leaves something to be desired. The food is comparable is ok, nothing to write home about but the service is terrible! My husband and I went with my family after watching a movie Gusman e at the. My step-mother had made a reservation for a party of 8, but when we got there, they seemed completely surprised to see us and started scrambling to get tables together. Once we sat down my family quickly looked over the menu and everyone decided what they were ordering before the waiter even came to get our drinks. Once he arrived he started taking drink orders we thought we could just give him our entree order at the same time. Apparently, that was way too much for him to handle so instead, he took the drink orders, then went back around and took the entree orders. What a waste of time. The food did come out relatively quickly, probably because there was only one other group in the entire restaurant. We ate, and ordered dessert and left. Never going back.

Sushi for lunch without straying too far from the office? This is your place. Great location for the hard working professional average food by "foodie" standards. I had the salmon tempura sushi! Not something I see often at sushi places so I gave it a shot and it was pret-ty good! No complaints; however it is just an average sushi eatery slightly overpriced (as the area allows it to be). Waitstaff was kind and never missed a beat.

Not bad, but not great either... Portions are good-sized. Location and atmosphere... nice. Service - pretty attentive. Food is a litle pricey, but overall not a bad choice in Brickell. Decently priced lunch specials around $10.

I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants in Miami since I love sushi, but this place is just not great. They have several lunch specials which are good, but are not great. I've ordered a sushi/sashimi combo which is delicious, but just not enough food, especially not considering the price. If you're going to give a lunch special, it's a SPECIAL. That means, a decent portion for a decent price. Otherwise, keep your lunch specials and I'll pay the regular price for the regular portion. After all I'm still going to pay like $20. Unfortunately, I've had better, but will probably still go again because of it's proximity to work. At least the service is good...

If you're going to check this place out in the evening, I definitely suggest sitting outdoors and catching the breeze (altho the fancy, cushioned patio furniture is awkward to sit in). The food was good - we split several dishes. Some rolls, sashimi, and a noodle dish. Only thing that had me shaking my head all evening was the live entertainment. There was a woman singing and playing the piano - but it was such a random selection of music (everything from Colbie Caillet to Shakira), that I couldn't stop laughing.

What didn't I like about this place? I'm a sushi-lover and when I was in the area and happened to be craving it once again, I yelped then decided to give it a try, especially since some locals had suggested it. A fellow sushi-addict and I were greeted with smiles. We sat at the sushi bar and the guys behind it began chitchatting with us while making our sushi and seemed more than happy to play the role of the servers, checking on our cocktails (which were very good), etc. The menu was pretty extensive - about 6 large pages actually. They have a variety of Japanese food. We started off with the Sashimi Roll and the Avocado Salad. The ginger dressing is AMAZING! We then ordered 6 different kinds of maki rolls and finished them all. The guys joked around about how they couldn't believe two girls can eat so much but what can we say? It was good! Presentation was cute - the "plates" are miniature boats and come in 3 different sizes depending on how large your order is. My favorite was the Red Dragon Roll.

A cool place to go to for a quick bite. Slightly over-priced for average sushi (it is Brickell) the staff was friendly and never skipped a beat, however, I mainly go because its conveniently a few blocks from my apartment. if your in a hurry and live in Brickell, cool place, but there is much better sushi not much further down the road.

I have been walking by here for weeks waiting for Sushi Siam to open. YAY! I'm done waiting! I ate here the third night they were opened. The menu is LARGE, with many Thai and Japanese options. The waiter was very friendly, and my boyfriend and let him do the ordering (we were overwhelmed and hungry!). We told him what we liked and he made awesome suggestions. We started with a whitefish appetizer soaked in mojito sauce, that was surprisingly good! I'm normally not a fan of whitefish, but this was thinly sliced and done well. From there I ate a spicy Thai soup with chicken and mushrooms. It was so good (and filling!) that I wanted to gulp it down hastily, but I'd already ordered a roll and wanted to save room. It had hearty pieces of chicken that warmed my soul! *I love a good soup that warms the soul.* The sushi roll we ate was apparently "not on the menu" but a special for that day. PLEASE SUSHI SIAM, add it to your already overflowing menu! I don't know the exact name, but it was a spicy tuna roll with tempura flakes. It was quite large and definitely satisfying. I went in hopes of also getting a dessert, but I was sadly too full. I will DEFINITELY be returning, and I'll report back on the dessert.

I had an early dinner at the Brickell location yesterday. Needless to say that the lunch specials are the best part of their menu. With the lunch specials you are able to sample a wider variety of the menus selections. I won't be going back for dinner anymore. It was not worth the time or money. As far as the service goes, let's just say " shift change". The server was in such a hurry to get out there that she neglected to tell her replacement server that we were there and what our order had been. lol So we ended up having the bus boy take care our needs and getting the rest of our food. He was happy that he did because the tip was more than worth it.

Ok sushi and ok atmoshoehere. We mainly go because it's convenient and not too pricey. Nothing great, but the patio in the winter is nice for lunch.

I ended up here because all the other restaurants on Brickell were full. The service was great, but the sushi I ordered was kind of plain. The orders were mixed up and we ended up with similar but different dishes that we had ordered.

I live close-by and was so excited when they opened. They are owned and run by the same folks at Sushi Rock, my favorite place for sushi in Miami. I don't see how things could vary from one restaurant within the company to the next, but somehow they have managed to differ greatly. Whereas Sushi Rock (in Sunniland) has deliciously huge rolls and very reasonable prices, Sushi Siam has tiny rolls and is overpriced. I understand that their rent is higher, but they are severely lacking in quality, portion size and service as well. They do, however, have something great going for them. They have wonderfully beautiful and relaxing outdoor seating. It's located in a peaceful nook and the chairs, benches and tables are provide for a romantic evening or fun dining with friends. The "Happy Hour" is really meager and lacks selection. They also give you the smallest portions you can imagine. So, essentially, you aren't getting a happy hour deal at all, they are just reducing the size of their portions accordingly. I am convinced that this restaurant would clean up if they would follow Sushi Rock's business model of providing better rolls, bigger portions and lower prices. The revenue they'd give up on each dish would be more than compensated by higher attendance and more frequent regulars. People living on Brickell, like me, have a lot of choices when it comes to dining, so Sushi Siam, you had better do something soon to set yourself apart from the rest and stand out a little better.

Now - when I think of Sushi, I usually think of California. Nobody can do it like the west coast...accept this place - We stayed in Miami on a holiday weekend when few restaurants were open that day. We stopped in here walking in the trendy new downtown and emerging area of Miami. What a great surprise. Take is all in and plan this one for a special time or a hip event. Get your sushi on at Sushi Siam.

My boss was in a delightful mood one afternoon, recently, and took the sales team out for lunch. This is in walking distance of my office and we sat outside. Tons of huge, towering palm trees made for a great atmosphere. I ordered the red curry lunch special and was pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be quite delicious, and a very generous portion. But, alas, this is a sushi joint..and I didn't try the sushi. But all other fronts it seemed A-Ok.

I waited for this place to open for a while since I'm a fan of the one in Key Biscayne and the one in Lincoln Road. The big plus is that I live in the same building (The Plaza), so it's nice to know you can go downstairs and have a nice meal. However, I soon discovered this place has very little in common with the other Sushi Siam locations. It all comes down to Brickell prices, Brickell attitude and horrendous service. The food is great, don't get me wrong, but the service needs much improvement if they want to remain open for long. I've resorted to ordering take-out to avoid dealing with their service. As for the meals, please try the Tom Kha Gai soup, the Pad Thai is quite good, but my favorites are the Special Fried Rice and the Sweet and Sour chicken. Try to avoid the sushi as this is simply not their specialty. I say give it a try and decide for yourself.

wow, what an impressive disappointment...I was looking forward to trying Sushi Siam at the new location since I had eaten there (both in-restaurant and take out) several times before at it's previous Four Ambassadors location. I went with a friend and we were to meet other people there for birthday drinks and maybe dinner... we were seated and given menus and then promptly ignored by the plentiful staff for a good 10 minutes. I went so far as to get up to ask for a drink menu (from what looked to be a manager), and she gave me a paper take out menu instead. we had called in advance to find out about happy hour and were told there were drink specials every day till 7, however, when we FINALLY got a waitress to come over, she said no they didn't have any..."oh well yeah, only on beer, but no that's only until 7" (she tells us at a quarter till). unsure of whether she knew what she was talking about, we stopped another waiter and asked him and he said "no, we don't have any happy hour at all, not even on beer." we ordered a couple of drinks and some wakame salad and edamame while we waited. the food came out immediately but the drinks took nearly three times as long to come out. the food was actually good - fresh and tasty - the drinks on the other hand were poorly made (proportions off balance). our third friend arrived and ordered a drink, twice, before getting it and that's when we started discussing where else we could go as no one wanted to stay to eat. before our final friends arrived we decided we were done and asked for the check (THAT came immediately), which was surprisingly bigger then expected considering what we had. it's a shame that this was such a meh experience because I was hoping to have another yummy, reliable place to go within walking distance. bad service, no attention, high prices, no specials, un-knowledgeable staff, and semi-decent food is just not a good combination...I'm not even sure I'd be willing to go back and give it another chance.

I gave it another shot. Silly me. It was freezing and we wanted the least amount of walking. Next time, I'll drive somewhere for sushi. The overall experience was ...well, just bad. The service was bad -- our primary server rarely came by and random other servers would come by to take away a napkin or wipe down the corner of our table. WEIRD. I had to flag down two servers to grab our server to come by and give us our check. But rest assured, your table will remain spic-and-span. The food, again, was nothing to write home about. Sorry SS, I think you're officially off my dinner radar.

The place is very clean and just a block south of 8th St. The Dragon Roll is close to perfect as it gets and I highly recommend it. Can not see myself buying a Dragon or Spider Roll anywhere else, once you taste the perfect mix is impossible to eat it somewhere else. The Dynamite is a bit different form what I am used to, but nonetheless is good and probably with less calories than other places since I like the heavier mayonnaise that I had taste on this roll before.

I have a habit of making fun of people who go to poorly rated business on Yelp and then gripe about how it was an awful experience. My gut instinct is to F them before sending a "You're Funny" compliment, saying something along the lines of "Haha. Bummer about your craptastic experience - glad you discovered Yelp so you can save yourself some pain in the future." Foot, meet mouth. Having let hunger and exhaustion get the better of us, we three ignored the singular pre-existing two star review and thought to ourselves, "Hey, this is convenient. It looks pretty nice. And they have a gorgeous sun-lit outdoor patio. Why not take a chance that the only other yelper who tried this out had a fluke poor experience." Yeah... well, the fluke apparently wasn't so flukey after all. Just getting seated is challenging enough. We stood around the front entrance, looking appropriately lost/confused to no avail. So I took it upon myself to ask a randomly passing-by employee whether or not there was a host I should speak to for seating. He pointed me to a handsome lady, who greeted me... then a third gentleman swoops out of nowhere to take us to a table without any prompting. Whiplash! What just happened?! At least we ended up on the sunny patio like we wanted... Five minutes later... no menus. Five more minutes later... still no menus. Really? I wander inside and find the same handsome lady to ask her if we might have a server. The response: "We very busy..." Then she wanders in the other direction. Uhh... Server finally comes to offer us menus. I'm about ready to start gnawing on my arm. We immediately order edamame and some green teas. Teas were a mistake. Sure, it looks green. Like, Ecto-Cooler style. But it sure didn't taste like tea. Fail. One sip and done. And while the lunch specials are reasonably priced for the quantity of food, it appears that Sushi Siam puts a lot more stock on its presentation than its food quality. Like many men, this grub was good from afar, but far from good. Dry rice in the sushi and a gloopy sticky-sweet glaze on the teriyaki chicken meant that the miso soup was the highlight of the meal. Lesson learned: Disregard the warnings of other yelpers at thine own peril.

You know I'm gonna tell it like it is (or at least how I think it is). Here goes. This place reeks of old Brickell nonsense. If you don't know what I mean by old Brickell nonsense, check my review of La Provence. Anyway, in addition to the wannabe bourgeoisie attitude, the food was, well, not good. My sushi tasted bland, lacked reasonable fish portions, and the rice was dry and stale. Even the seaweed was very dry. The appetizers were the most acceptable part of the meal with the exception that they came at different times in a 30 minute period. We all ordered individual appetizers and all ate them one at a time. How weird is that? Then the entrees. One entree was brought out with the appetizers and sat on the table for at least half an hour. By the time my friend took his first bite, it was stone cold. We sent it back and asked for another. Another entree did not arrive untill at least 20 minutes after all the other entrees had been served. Ridiculous. The Service at this place has a long way to go and they need to rethink the way they prepare and serve food. Best advice I have for this place? Close down and start from scratch, you suck. I wish this place was better because I love Sushi! But in cliche fashion: it is what it is.

Firstly, I must make it clear that I love eating sushi. Unfortunately, I didn't love Sushi Siam. They used to be at the Four Ambassadors and then moved across the street to the Plaza. I figured that once they moved they'd do something to improve their fare. Sadly, they didn't agree. My boyfriend and I ordered take out sometime last week. We had the Spicy Beef Salad, Spicy Tuna Roll, & J.B Roll. The steak on the salad was tepid and the meat wasn't very high quality. The sushi was very average. It wasn't terrible but it definitely wasn't great. The prices aren't dirt cheap either. On the bright side, it was ready fairly quickly. In sum, I felt gypped. Next time I think we'll just drive over to Mr. Yum. It might not be an elevator ride away, but at least it's worth the trip.

The food is really good. We needed something like this in the area to have the ocassional thai and sushi. However there's something really awful going on in this restaurant. Even though the staff is genuinely nice and willing to do their best, only a handful of them actually speak english. During the 2 times we've been there, one for dinner and one for takeout there have been quite a few misunderstandings, even with pricing and what's available or not during lunch hour. Hopefully the staff will learn english soon, or they'll hire less people that actually speak english.

Since I work on Brickell I decided to go to Sushi Siam during lunch. Considering the lunch traffic, the service was OK and the food was quickly served. I always eat the same thing and that is the Dragon Roll, as always it was delicious!

Sushi Siam finally opened at the Plaza on Brickell about 2 weeks ago. Their "Coming Soon" sign had come up over a year and a half ago. I had been patiently waiting to have a restaurant in the building but was very disappointed with my first order. I ordered pick up on a weekday - they were nice enough to read the lunch specials to me on the phone but when I asked for the total, they told me they were to busy. I went to pick up about 15 minutes later and the food was there waiting for me. I approached the cashier to ask about my order and she was a bit rude and told me to go stand a few feet away while she processed my credit card. I then asked for a menu (so they did not have to read their menu to me again on the phone) but she said NO MENU (in a loud and rude voice). The food was okay but I had better. I ordered a Thai plate. A colleague went yesterday and he came back with better feedback - he was happy with the food and the service and they even offered him a take out menu. They mentioned they will be starting a daily happy hour with a DJ/live music. Maybe their staff was not trained when I went??

It's a shame Sushi Siam takes up space in such a central part of Brickell, because it's absolutely terrible. The sushi is pretty expensive for how bad it is (go to Mr. Yum's instead). The drinks are pretty good (at least). Definitely avoid coming to this place; I simply don't understand how there are so many Sushi Siams scattered around Miami.

Service was great but the food ... Mushy udon noodles, sushi less than fresh. VERY pricey even with a Groupon. I have read great reviews about this place so maybe we caught an off-night. With all of the outstanding competition in the area. I'm not so sure I would come back for a second chance.

    (1)
  • Rula S.

SInce I live so close and I was SO hungry, I decided to do it again...really how bad can it be? They proved me right...in total, it's not a good experience. First off, it's expensive...not many people would pay that much for what they are getting. Really? You're Sushi Siam...tone it down a bit! Second, the service is slow and the place was empty...I can't imagine what would have happened had it been busy?? The sushi isn't bad...it's the prices and portions that get you...and I'm not a huge eater! Third, I'm wondering why did I try this place again... Once bitten, twice shy...not doing it again and I don't suggest it until they get their stuff straight!

Frankly, the only reason I'm even giving this restaurant 2 stars and not 1 is for the bar, ambiance, outdoor area, and service. Based on food alone, I would give it 1 star. Definitely low quality sushi, not consistent, whoever makes the sushi does not have proper knife skills. Each time I have gone, the fish and seaweed has been butchered by poor knife skills. I will say that the service is consistently excellent, however. Definitely overpriced for the low quality food. Definitely better to come for a drink and have an appetizer if you're really hungry.

I love this restaurant. The sushi is definitely top notch and very delicious. The service is wonderful, especially the Sushi Siam in Key Biscayne and the one at Brickell. The Thai food is also very good. I usually order the Curry Vegetables with steamed tofu and its delicious and nutritious. The Brickell location has a beautiful outside area in between the skyscrapers of Miami that just make the environment so different than anything else in Miami.

We had dinner at the bar with my friend and we order the chicken curry. Loved it. Their litchis martinis are great. We also got the chicken soup as well. No room for dessert though. Nice bartender took care of us.

Our waiter was awesome and very polite. We had the red dragon roll and the curry scallops - we sat outside on very comfy chairs and was treated very well from the time we entered the restaurant to the time we left. All the prices were very reasonable and they gave large portions to top it off.

Will not be going back. I may have mentioned in my previous review the sushi is average but they were redeemed by their service. This time around I went with a party of 4 and was seated out side. We had to flag down the hostess to be seated, flag down the waiter to order, flag someone else down for drink refills. When our food came out it has just started to rain. We told the server as he approached our table that we wanted to move because of the rain. He began to place the food down (which by the way it took forever to come out, the place wasn't busy, and we has only ordered a light dinner - soup and rolls), and told us it wasn't raining. We got up and walked in, forcing him to follow with the food. We never got our drink refills. I know he saw us trying to flag him down because I made eye contact. We had to ask someone else for the check, which had the tip included. It was only supposed to include a tip on larger parties.

Sushi Siam is one of my to go places for Sushi in brickell, since it is right around the corner from where I work. The sushi and pad thai are pretty good, and they are a good value, if you get the lunch specials. The only thing that kept me from giving it more stars was that I once I place my order for a Hosimaki combo for pick up(which by the way comes with 3 rolls and miso soup..and pretty tasty) they charge me $13.95 instead of the $11.95 posted in the online menu. I still think it was a good price but ...beware as online prices may have changed. Other than that I think this place is a pretty good spot for lunch.

Cant believe the reviews are so low. I live in the same building of the Sushi Siam in Brickell and LOVE this place. For sushi is great and the Thai is really good as well. I think I've tried most of their rolls and my favorite is the Dragon. Delicious. And in the Thai side, the Green Curry Chicken is fabulous.

The typical "Thai/Sushi" Miami thing. Never understood that honestly coming from the Northeast. Japan and Thailand are nowhere near each other, and the food is nothing remotely similar....but I digress. The sushi here is very bad. Rolled by locals with no training, and kept at a warm temperature. The crab in my roll was hot....in a roll that was supposed to be chilled/below room temperature. The rice was overcooked. My girl got Pad thai and the noodles were overcooked, and the pad thai extremely sweet to the point of being inedible. Decided to see if their delivery was any better, and in fact it was worse. These people don't know Thai or Japanese food, and they do a good job of misrepresenting both. Awful food.

Sushi is better than the Thai food. I've tried their sashimi and rolls and they are delicious. The Thai food is average. They have some Chinese dishes and they are also average. Good for the sushi.

First off... let me start with a general complaint about Asian food in the Miami area... Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Thai are all vastly different cultures with vastly different foods. Stop trying to stick them all in one restaurant. Pick one food type and try to excel at it instead of making 72 below average dishes. Sushi Siam unfortunately has chosen the mentality of all Asian food is the same. And unfortunately for them, the food is bad, it's insanely overpriced, and the ambiance doesn't save them. Save yourself now from yet another below average place trying to be a trendy eatery and charging you an arm and a leg for a sad experience.

So, we finally had a Friday night off together and were able to go out like a normal couple. We decided to try Sushi Siam on Brickell since it was near us and we had no desire to go to the beach for overpriced poorly served sushi. We had a friend join us for dinner. As we walked to the door, we were greeted right away, they sat us immediately and our server came right to the table. So far, so good. He was a pleasant guy, named Tonk. Tonk bowed after asking us nearly everything which was kind of fun. My fiance had the grapetini, which she said she loved (she had 3 so they must have been good) her friend had the french martini and I had my diet coke (well, diet pepsi there) we had some fried shumai stuffed with shrimp and some fried goyza stuffed with pork, both really good. We also had the fried jerky, that was really good too. It could have used a sauce, but really, that was not an issue. we finally get to ordering our dinner, I had the hot j.b. roll and a french roll, fiance had the california roll and the shrimp tempura roll, our friend had the dragon roll and the tuna tataki. The really nice part came when they delivered the rolls. Although we had all ordered individually, they put all the sushi on a boat instead of delivering 6 different plates. I thought that was a nice touch on their part. The server assistants (back servers, bussers whatever you choose to call them) were all on point, my soda would get near half full and they'd be right over to refill it for me, they also were quick to grab anything off the table, that didn't need to be there. There wasn't a lot of chatting and texting in the corners by the staff, they weren't joking around, they were working and staying busy. I don't often see that nowadays. We were really glad to have made the decision to go here. The sushi was good, the service was refreshingly attentive and the bill was reasonable for where we were. all totaled it ended up being about $165.00 that was with all the food I mentioned and 5 or 6 martinis ($12.95 each) So, if you find yourself looking for sushi in the downtown or brickell area, hit Sushi Siam. The decor is nice and as I said, all the other things you look for are there. Enjoy.

You have got to order the off-menu favorite Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll. It's awesome! It has everything including mango. We've been a couple of times and the service is always pretty good.

Not recommended. Has had some unfortunate effects on myself and my co-workers. Sushi Maki, a chain, and nearby, is better. Kyojin, a buffet, and not so close, is much better.

We actually always have good service here, though usually we sit inside so that may lead to better attention. I find the appetizers to be a good value compared to the entree portions of the same dishes and my boyfriend really enjoys the Thai dishes. It isn't the best Asian food around but for Lincoln Road it is our pick.

I can not speak for the sushi but the Thai food is terrible. We ordered pad thai and red curry along with 2 orders of fresh spring rolls. The pad thai had almost no flavor. The red curry had almost no flavor. We spent over $60 on 4 items for delivery, which is expensive for thai food, but I would have been ok with the price had the food not been so bland. I would not recomend their thai food!!

I decided to go here for dinner while on a business trip. It so happened to be Valentines day, and this place was empty for a holiday that is consisted of a lot of fine dining, so that says it all. My coworker wanted Thai and this was the only Thai place that was within walking distance to the hotel we were staying at. They have a nice romantic huge dining area outside of the restaurant. I peaked inside the restaurant for a second while trying to get a seat, and it seems smaller inside than outside. The service was OK. It took awhile to get our drinks we had ordered. I ordered the Shrimp Volcano with basil, and it tasted like egg roll sauce mixed with extra chili pepper. Not that great! I don't want to eat a dish seasoned with egg roll sauce that came with 6 shrimp. We didn't try the sushi, so I can't comment on that and who knows maybe they are known best for their sushi. My bill was about $38 for the dish and 2 beer, which has gratuity automatically charged to all bills. I guess for that reason they don't feel that they have to provide good service. The food tasted nothing like Thai food, and it was overpriced. Pad Thai for $18 on the menu is kind of ridiculous. I understand it is supposed to be an upscale restaurant, but it should also hold its end of the bargain by having food that is worth the price. My usual hole in the wall Thai restaurant taste 10x better. I would not go here again.

The wahoo tataki was great. Good quality fish. We also had a dragon roll and a crunchy tuna roll, and were not impressed with either. Probably the worst dragon roll I've ever had. Atmosphere is interesting. Not too loud to carry on a conversation. Good service. We cashed in on the free Thai donuts by checking in on yelp. I would have been disappointed in them if they weren't free. Overall, I would go back, but it won't be my regular sushi place.

I was going to give this place one star, but I've been there a few times and the other times weren't as bad as last night. I went for dinner last night with a friend. There was only one other couple seated when I arrived at 7:30. I had to wait about 15 minutes for my friend to arrive and no one came and asked me if I would like a drink while I waited. Once she arrived, our drinks came pretty fast, but no one wanted to take our dinner order! It got so bad we contemplated leaving and eating elsewhere, but instead we decided to raise our hands like we were in elementary school to get a waiter. Even when we did that, first a bus boy came over and cleaned up our table and said he'd get someone over. Then someone else came who told us that he would get someone else to come to take our order. It took us sitting there for over 30 minutes for someone to take our order, with our menus closed and sitting to the side of us. Then at the end of dinner, we both sat there with empty drinks for about a half an hour. It was utterly absurd. The service was attoricious, just as the other yelpers have indicated. If it's my choice, I won't be returning.

I go to sushi siam during lunch. It is good sushi, the place is very clean and employees are very professional, however, it is nothing out of the extraordinary. I recommend it for lunch if you work around the area. I get the volcano roll. Its delish!

Got it delivered. Awful. The vegetable soup was all lettuce; and it wreaked! I had to throw it down the trash chute to get it out of my apartment. Sushi roll was tiny and tuna wasn't fresh. It was actually pretty disgusting. And totally over-priced. I just shelled out way too much for very little and very bad food. I'm basically looking for something else to eat in my fridge.

We went here because as of yet we have not found a Thai place that fits our spiciness level and is also decent. We came to the restaurant and had to walk around to find the entrance/hostess (in front of the outdoor tables). Once that happened they allowed us to choose a table since it wasn't bustling. I had vegetarian miso (it was pretty good) and my date had a fish chicken soup made spicy (absolutely Delicious). Ordering from the dinner menu, we got the spicy sauce entree and the chicken basil (ordered Thai HOT). They were absolutely Delicious. Luckily i had to take half home because they gave us so much food that I get to have it for lunch. The sauces were very complex--we sat there for awhile and tried to guess what was in the sauce. I am definitely going to visit this place some again.

Quite a disappointment actually. Ordered several rolls and nothing remotely fancy: small chunks of fish and cucumber rolled in rice and covered with black seaweed wrapping. Wholefoods sushi look and taste better. Not complaining about the service, it was good, just the food was terrible.

I enjoyed the food and ambiance at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the service superb. Parking, although valet, was somewhat strange as the restaurant is located in a residential apartment tower. Check it out if you have a chance.
