We were very surprised at how good the food waWr had the summer rolls, chicken satay, Thai chicken salad, chicken in garlic sauce, spaghetti pad keep may, and the yakisoba. All were great, but stick with the white rice as the brown was a little mushy. For desert the banana and cheesecake temporary were out of this world

Excellent food, terrible service! Nice people watching patio. Red curry was amazing, good sushi, good pad Thai. Big menu with big variety, just know the service is sub par!

Still waiting for my delivery order after 1.5 hours. Been told twice that the driver just left and he'll be at my house in 15 minutes... I live less than a mile from this place. I'm over it! Better be the worlds best sushi after taking 90 minutes to prepare. So actually it was awful! Tasted like it sat around for 90 minutes. We threw the rolls away and ate the fried rice, which my husband thought was decent. The Thai doughnuts were cold and chewy. I love spending $60 on crap :) Won't order from this place ever again!

Siam Oishi has a huge selection of Japanese and Thai food that is reasonably priced, visually appealing and quite tasty but none of it has that wow factor. First of all, our waiter seemed extremely indifferent and unexcited about the food, which in turn left us unexcited. He also barely spoke English, didn't understand our questions and couldn't explain or make recommendations. Recommendations were needed because the menu has way too many choices. Between Japanese and Thai, hot and cold appetizers, maki rolls, sushi combos, teriyaki, tempura, stir fry's, soups, noodles, rice and specialty dishes, there are just too many to choose from. Even if they cut the menu in half, it would still be too many. Also, some of the dishes lack descriptions. I bet most people who haven't been to Japan or have a habit of reading Japanese cook books don't know what ohitashi are. So, we started with the naruto vegetable appetizer. Pickled and fresh veggies rolled in thinly sliced cucumber maki roll style, served in a pink mayo based dipping sauce. Without the sauce, rather bland but fresh and crunchy. Not sure I'd order it again. Tofu pad thai- large portion, fresh, crunchy veggies, nice sweetness but lacked salt and spice. Could be due to the fact that I'd been stereo typed as "mild". The rice noodles had also been soaked too long and lacked that bit of chewy bite they should have. Have had better pad thai at Red Koi and Bonding. The Madonna roll was yummy. I loved that it was wrapped in tamagoyaki (omelet) which made it super filling. Anything with eel and eel sauce is hard to mess up in my book. I do like the fact that any roll can be made with brown rice for an extra charge. What I did notice was that the rolls were falling apart, it could be that they don't use proper sushi rice or maybe it's lack of technique. Finally, the tempura cheesecake. First off, this was NOT tempura batter. Tempura batter is delicate, fluffy, light and almost doughy. This was a tough to cut through panko batter. Still crispy and golden brown with creamy cheesecake in the center but have had this executed way better at Miyako and Maiko on the beach.

Everything was Delicious! But service was weird, first we waited around forever, then when service came we placed both our drink and meal order only to be told that this server can only take drink orders. Meals are placed with another server who will stop by shortly. My husband and I looked at eachother, perplexed. Eventually the other meal order taking server stopped by. Food took a long time but everything was truly delicious! We loved this restaurant but agreed we'd only ever come back for take out. Highlights: Garlic Chicken and Thai Donuts

Any time I try a new Thai place I start with chicken pad Thai. Nice and simple, any decent Thai place should be able to kick out a perfect pad Thai. This was the worst I've ever had. A big heap of greasy noodles and just barely cooked through chicken. Sauce was almost non existent and bland. A few wilted veggies here and there. No lime. Garbage.

Water served in the super dirty glases. We had to order bottle water and just drank straight from the bottle. Soup was serverd in a bowl that has 10 chips around the rim. Everything was horrible to the point that I couldn't eat anymore. I lost my appetite. The service was so so, found 2 pieces of plastic in ice cream, I pointed at her she just said "Oh..It's just plastic" so I thought ..do you eat plastic??? It's normal to be in your food or dessert?? It's just a sad/depressing place to go either lunch or dinner, especially inside the restaurant.

The Thai food here was so yummy! The panang curry was a dish I will personally go back and order again and again! A friend of mine order soup with duck in it which tasty. Can't wait to try some other items on the menu next time as there were soo many options over four pages on the menu. I enjoyed the outside seating, we sat down next to some regulars and you could tell that it was a place they like coming back to a lot. The wait staff did their job efficiently. Nothing over the top or out of this world - they were just okay.

I definitely recommend this from a take-out sushi point of view. I ordered from their online menu, and my order arrived in a timely manner. The sushi was fresh and of good quality. I had readr eviews prior to ordering from them, however, I must refute the negative comments I had read. The online ordering was simple and effective, without technical difficulty. The only reason I did not give 5 stars for this was because I did think their prices were on the higher end considering they seem to be primarily a take-out sushi type of joint. With that being said, Hooray for having a new take-out sushi place!!

Worst sushi place ever ,the food is nothing to be WOW about but the worst part is how nasty the waitress with blonde hair is ,took 2 hours for everyone to get their food when their was only two tables full in this place ,30 minutes to get a menu ,plus the sushi falls completely apart , the place is completely empty you wonder why they need Groupon and how this is in the Grove and is so empty . Wouldn't recommend this to anyone DONT waste your time or money here .

Had dinner on Friday night at 7pm and we sat outside because the weather was very comfortable plus not too much traffic at that time. It was pretty empty inside and half of the tables outside were taken. Our table had the vegetable spring rolls, which had a good amount of quality filling and a spicy plum sauce. The chicken pad thai was pretty good, it was done well and loaded with quality ingredients and a good size portion. The chicken panpang curry was also very good. Again, quality pieces of chicken breast and a fair amount. The sauce was requested mild and it did have just a hint of heat. The chicken thai basil leaves dish was also very nice. Not too much of the onions, peppers and mushrooms but could have had a few more basil leaves but again, the chicken and sauce was very good. The service was average, our waitress just did what was expected, took the order and delivered the food in reasonable time. My only major let down was the poor wine selection. A $9.00 glass of wine which was drinkable at best. I'll definitely go back, but would opt for the sake.

We came here for my fathers birthday. Firstly, we were told that all 5 of us (my mom in a wheel chair) should sit in a tiny table. We requested to please add another table to sit all 5 which was not very pleasantly provided. Later, after sitting down the waiter accidentally poured an entire glass of ice water all over me when setting the waters on the table!!! This has never happened to me ever before at ay restaurant. Thinking that as a result of this that I would receive attention and nice service. The guy just stairs at me and I had to request napkins. I had to use all of the clothe napkins at the table and we sat there with no replacement for at least 20 minutes. I had to get up and ask someone inside to change the table clothe which was completely soaked. Isn't it obviously someone should have cleaned the table and reset it with napkins? Food was good. Then since its my dads birthday we ask for the dessert that we ordered to come with a candle. It was provided. Then shortly afterwards, another server ( I think its the manager which provided my dad with the birthday cake) comes straight to the table with the bill and goes straight to my dad to say here you go!!!1 Its his birthday! Does he have no common sense???? Then he leaves it there for another 15 minutes as we wait for someone to pick up the card to pay. Same person comes to the table to say the card machine does not work and if we have CASH? By the way, nothing was reduced off the bill after getting a full glass of ICE water poured on me. We said we only have the card. So he miraculously fixed his card machine and returned us the completed transaction in minutes......SURE The machine was broken!!! WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rudest people ever. The people that work there are extremely rude and couldn't care less about you as the customer - they're just there to make money. I'm never going to eat there again. I hope they close.

Curry was good, but pad thai and fried rice were abominable - dry, tasteless things that must have been cooked last year and left on a dusty shelf. We were there at 2 pm on a weekday, so we were the only ones there, but it still took like 30 min. to get our food. I know Coconut Grove is a tourist trap, but $50 for 3 dishes was a bit much, especially considering the quality (or lack thereof). There's no way any Asian would eat at this restaurant more than once.

Visited Siam last night with bf and our friend who lives in Siam hood. We were immediately seated in the little cute outside area. Upon pouring our water, one of the servers recognized my friend from a different restaurant and warmly greeted her. Later when the server came for our orders, she totally remembered what my friend ordered at the old place. Was great service overall. I had veggie sushi with brown rice which was fresh and delicious. I sometimes find that seaweed can be too fishy(makes me gag)-happily this was great. No fishy seaweed. Bf enjoyed his steak salad and Spicy Tuna Roll, and our friend dug her Cream Cheese and Crab roll or whatever the hell that was. Better than any sushi place that I've had on the beach. Give it a whirl.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. DONT GO HERE!!! My girlfriend and I went on a thursday for dinner and the service was horrible. We were the only ones sitting outside and it took 15 minutes just for them to put water on the table and another 15 minutes for the drink order. After I complained to the waitress she replied it wasn't her problem and that there was nothing she could. She was super rude. With so many places to eat in the area, we just got up and left and went to Lulu's which was great!! Thank you Siam Oishi for introducing me to Lulu's. Now that's an awesome restaurant.

Overall, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences my family has had in a long time. We do not come to this part of Miami very often, but after visiting Monkey Jungle, we were all starving and in search for a Thai restaurant in Coconut Grove. The restaurant looks decent on the outside-there are a few patio chairs and tables to eat at, and the place isn't falling apart. But don't expect to seat more than five outside, as they could barely accommodate us (5). Otherwise, the restaurant is pretty much dead-- only one other table was seated inside and it seemed as if they were waiting on a to-go order rather than actually eating from the menu. The waiters didn't seem very prepared for anyone's arrival, as none of the tables were set and the three staff members didn't notice us when we came in. We were told to go sit down and call when we were ready with the orders-- very professional. After we sat down, we were left with several dirty menus that had seen better days. The menu was disorganized and hard to follow. We had soon decided on what we wanted to order, and were waiting for the waitress to take our orders. After a 15 minute wait, she finally came back and took our orders without asking about what we wanted to drink. We ordered the following: 2x avocado roll Unagi roll Fried rice (chicken) Panang curry (tofu) Pad thai (vegetable) Green tea The dishes came out in a very sporadic order. At this time, the waitress brought out the plates and silverware, which were poorly cleaned. She also dumped stacks of napkins in front of everyone-- my friend got a stack of 5 placed in front of her. Then, the avocado rolls came out first. They were very average and I didn't particularly enjoy them- the avocado was extremely cold and the seaweed wasn't the type used for sushi, but rather tasted like one of those seaweed snacks that are very crunchy, flaky, and dry. I picked up the sushi by the seaweed and the entire piece fell apart. The two avocado rolls also lacked wasabi and ginger. The "unagi" roll came out 10 minutes later and was placed in front of me. It looked absolutely disgusting- the fish tasted horrible (I don't even think that it was eel) and the wasabi was lime green. Half of the pieces were falling apart and the roll was lacking any sort of garnish or sauce. I managed to eat two or three pieces, but then had to stop because I felt like throwing up. At this time, my mom ordered a green tea which was later forgotten about. It came out 15 minutes later after we had asked the waitress about it- it was brought in a plastic glass and was extremely hot. My mom, a tea enthusiast, claimed that the tea tasted like pee. The waitress responded by saying "that's how it's supposed to taste". At this point, we were all laughing about how bad the food and service was. The panang curry came out alongside the tea. The tofu was cold on the inside and the sauce tasted as if it were rotten/old. My dad sent the dish back with the tea. At this time, we were still waiting on the fried rice and pad thai. The pad thai was decent, but not the best. The fried rice came out last-- it wasn't even fried and was cold. We ended up sending every dish back except for the avocado rolls and pad thai. After this hour long experience of waiting for our food to arrive, it was time to receive the bill. We probably should have left without paying, but the waitress had already brought the check. They had only removed the panang curry from the bill, even though we had returned all of the dishes. The waitress also attempted to act sneaky an added 18% gratuity to the bill, even though we were only a party of 5. A nearby waiter who claimed that our waitress had 'bad reviews' was willing to remove the added gratuity and fried rice from the bill. At this point, we were asking to speak with the manager, who also turned out to be the chef and owner of the restaurant. He didn't speak very good English and didn't understand what we were saying. We finally agreed to pay the existing bill because we didn't want to waste any more time here. My friend had already gone to get a sandwich at the Jimmy Johns next door. The waitress had to bring five receipts and swipe the credit card three times because something inside just "wasn't working". We left the restaurant dissatisfied and hungry. Overall, this is a horrible restaurant and I would not recommended this place to anyone.

The WORST service I ever experience !!! Called to order delivery, I could tell that the guy does not care at all about what I'm saying, even though I explain that i have allergies and I need him to listen. Eventually, of course we got everything wrong with all the vegetables we are allergic too and had to throw the food away. The only thing we could it taste so bed that we throw that too!

Terrible. Came here for lunch with 2 others. Told them we were sitting outside and waited10 minutes with no service. Went inside and grabbed our own menus. Another 5 minutes. Waiter finally came to bring us drinks. Another 10 minutes he brought out one persons meal. Another 5 minutes. No silverware so went in again and got our own... To make a long story longer we waited an hour and a half. Yes, an hour and a half during lunch with just 2 other tables in the entire restaurant without ever receiving food. Ended up paying for salad and leaving. At least the manager gave us the pad thai to-go for free.

Similar to other reviews the food was decent but the service was absolutely terrible. I do not recommend going to this restaurant. Our waitress was very abrasive and short with us and she looked very annoyed. The appetizers arrived very quickly but as the afternoon continued we realized she did not put in the main entree. When we asked she rudely said the restaurant goes by a first come first serve basis and that we would need to wait, mind you there is only 3 couples in the restaurant. At this point we could not tolerate our waitress anymore and just asked for the tab. Looks around the restaurant resembled ours so we knew we were not out of line. Let me reiterate that the food was actually quite good but the service and ambience was so dreadful that I will make sure to never ever come again. #dontgo

This place was awful. They took our order and then we sat for over 45 minutes. No water, no silverware. Finally, they came back over to tell us they lost the ticket with the order on it, so we needed to re-order. After another 20 minutes they brought out the appetizers, but still no plates or silverware. An hour and a half after first sitting down the food came. One of us ordered the drunken noodle with chicken, which came with beef ( someone who dose not eat red meat). We told them, instead of making a new one, they took out the beef and put bland chicken. There were still some pieces of beef in the dish. Overall the food was extremely bland, and the service was beyond terrible.

NOPE. Food was mediocre at best. Spent OVER 2 hours in that restaurant. Why? Not because we didn't want to leave. Not because we were caught up in engaging conversation with each other. Not because it was so charming that we were entranced to stay. No, none of the above. It's because it took them FOREVER to serve us. There was never a waiter when you needed one and when you finally got one's attention, it took forever to do what you asked them to do. The thing that irked me the most was that it took them half an hour to give us the bill from when we finished eating then about 15 minutes to take our money/credit cards and then another TWENTY minutes to run our cards. TWENTY minutes to run a credit card through a machine? WHY!?!?! It was such a waste of time just waiting for my credit card. Why did they have my card for so long? Why?! I want my life back! It takes about 30 seconds to run a credit card through a machine. AHHH! All the waiting was so frustrating and to add insult to injury the food wasn't even that good... especially the steak teriyaki. The sauce of it tasted like it was grocery store bought from a bottle. A big nope in my book.

Siam Oishi recently relocated to a new location a couple doors down on Main Highway. I was just having a conversation with a co-worker and we both agreed they are consistently really good, fresh, high quality food. I said "I should give them a yelp review" and came here and this location doesn't have one! Anyway, Siam Oishi has been operating in Coconut Grove for a couple of years. I have had many of their thai and sushi dishes and both are really good. I have eaten in about 3 times and had takeout about a dozen times. Each time their sushi fish is fresh and high quality. Their thai food is delicious. Soups are great. Everything is good. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are wanting sushi or thai and in the Grove!

Great service, delicious food! Went on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away. Shared a couple of appetizers and rolls: pork dumplings (steamed), chicken satay and another beef appetizer. Then we had the dynamite rolls and the volcano rolls - both were great. Followed by thai doughnuts for dessert! The staff was friendly and the prices were reasonable. Will definitely go back!

I had been here before with a girlfriend and we had a groupon and had a great time. I was expecting the same when I came back with another groupon and my boyfriend. We wanted takeout but they wouldn't do it with the groupon even though nowhere on it does it say no take out or dine in only. Anyway our server was very fast. We had tuna tataki (ehh ok) , a salmon roll wrapped in cucumber ( good concept but it was too big and had too much cuc and was falling apart). We also ordered the lobster tempura roll. That was a let down. $15.99 and it tasted kinda fishy...ehh I dunno. I didn't like it. The place was overall ok but we've had such amazing sushi at 2B, Little Lotus, Mr Yum, Moshi Moshi... that we wouldn't go back again.

This place is okay. Not bad, not good. Portions aren't worth the money. The sushi is alright; not out of this world, not awful. Their steak teriyaki is delicious but again, not worth the money. Their lack of staff is very inconvenient for both customers and the staff themselves... They were running around like chickens without heads! Probably won't go back. Thanks groupon for the cheap meal, though.

Typically, being gluten-free sushi is a safe bet but I'm usually left with two or three things on the menu that are vegan. Siam Oishi has a number of rolls, specialty rolls, appetizers, and plates dedicated to those of us who prefer to skip animal products and don't eat wheat. The sushi chef will also humor you and make something special. The fish is also fresh and according to the meat eaters in our group was "melt in your mouth" quality. This is my reason for the 5 star rating... I kinda miss raw fish but know I'll feel guilty for eating it and don't want to deprive my omnivore friends. This is a great restaurant for people with Celiac's disease or dairy or egg sensitivity. The atmosphere is laid back enough for lunch with friends but upscale enough to serve dinner to love-birds. The range of saki and beer is well selected. The service is average to slightly above. The staff was friendly. The price is reasonable for a sushi place.

The decor and ambiance is fantastic. We ate al fresco near the sidewalk and it was fantastic on a WED night, the street wasn't too crowded and noisy. We'll see if this is the same on a FRI night. My fiancé and I had a sushi duet boat. Immediately they allowed us to substitute an eel roll for a California Roll for a 2 dollar increase. The service overall was excellent and prompt. The deut boat, along with a glass of merlot and a cab came to 70 dollars. Not bad, given that we were completely filled and weren't pinching pennies on our wine choices. Overall, a great date night choice for sushi in the grove. The only thing that could change my opinion would be if they don't meet expectations on a Weekend. We'll find out about that tomorrow night... ......and dinner on a FRI night was just as fantastic. We had the duet again and substituted the Reggae Roll (conch and salmon) for the California roll. it was good, but the salmon overwhelms the conch in the roll. Still the best sushi I've had in Miami.

Love to come here during my lunch break. The lunch special options are extensive and you get a good price for everything that is included. The sushi is so fresh! I love the Volcano Roll, the salmon skin hand roll, the yellowtail sashimi, and the spicy lemongrass soup. If you are in a rush for lunch though, it might take a little longer than you expect. Overall I am a fan.

O.K. So the last time I wrote about this place I was partially venting about how terrible all the other restaurants I had been to in the area were--and that isn't fair. So, to be fair, I am going to review this place on its own. The sushi is pretty good, but slightly overpriced. Yes, this is one of the ubiquitous Thai/Sushi places seemingly typical of small sushi places in Miami, but, it is also the only place in the grove to serve edible sushi. Luckily, being a Thai/Sushi place, they also (no surprise) serve Thai food! My husband LOVES the panang curry from here and will eat it every night if I let him, but, I find it a little too watery for my tastes. I find it funny that they have always been a Thai/Sushi place, yet they recently put a sign up that says, "Now serving Thai food." Don't overlook the Thai part of this place, because it is truly pretty good, and probably should be the main reason to come here.

sushi: nice, fresh, pricy. thai: Pad Thai is the barometer for a good thai place. It is only OK here: Tried one order w/tofu, another order w/shrimp. Neither order had enough green onions (hardly any). Basically both orders were tons of noodles, a fair amount of egg, bean-sprouts and peanut, and then an ok amount of shrimp in the shrimp order ($2.00 extra), an unimpressive amount of tofu on the tofu order. Not spiced well, bland. A is that the water that they serve isn't drinkable: it has that taste of places that don't use quality pipes. This taste transfers to the noodles. Not that noticeable in the shrimp dish, very noticeable in the tofu dish.

We enjoyed the Thai here - cute place with seating outside on a little street, nice staff and fresh food. Can't comment on the sushi but everything we had seemed well prepared and somewhat unique as compared to other Thai places. We had a deal thingy, so the price was good - not sure we would come here at regular prices (though they are normal for this area) since the drive time is the same to our favorite time (TH2 on 163d!) Nice little place though and would be great for those living in the area or grabbing a movie etc.

Pretty solid place. Was very quiet for a Saturday night. Ate the Tuna Tataki and the Panang Curry w/ brown rice. Food was solid but nothing to write home about. Service was good, no interruptions and the owner's daughter was very friendly in refilling our waters. Not a place I would be dying to go back to but if I am in the grove I would do it again.

I have not eaten inside, but I did order over the phone for pick-up. I arrived at the restaurant in a little over 20 min and got my food immediately upon entering. They were very calm with me even as I got lost in the middle of the Grove because I was on foot. Being a big J.B. roll fan, I ordered this along with the Big Eye (Tuna Tempura and such) and found the tuna pieces very large, and I wasn't skimped on the cream cheese for the J.B. roll. I was extremely satisfied with my rolls, and the other bonus is that their rolls are 10 piece, where I am used to 8 piece or even 6 if they include a lot. So that was also great. The tempura cheesecake was very tasty, and a good helping of tempura was on the outside, and the piece was not small nor skinny like many other Sushi/Japanese style restaurants. I would definitely order this again to end my meal. The only critique is that they do not deliver outside of the Grove, and I live 10 min away. Overall, I would eat here again, and would recommend anything tempura on the menu.

Best food in Coconut Grove. Overpriced but good. Menu confusion. Not sure if they are Japanese or Thai. This Asian fusion thing is tricky. Love the fact that the restaurant is quiet; people are not yelling at the top of their lungs like most places in Miami. That alone makes the price excusable.

I was in Miami visiting from California. California has tons of good sushi and thai restaurants. So I was in need of a good restaurant in Miami. I went to Siam Oishi in Coconut Grove, FL with a few friends. I felt a great vibe from the very beginning. There was patio seating so we were able to sit outside and people watch. Inside the restaurant there was nice energetic music and interesting decor. They had a traditional Thai seating area that was really cool. It looked like a fun table for people that want to experience Thai culture. The waiter was a nice guy. He was very accommodating and provided great service. Our food came quickly. I order a glass of Thai tea, a dragon sushi roll, and a chicken and vegetable dish with thai sauce and spices. The dinner was excellent. My friends were very satisfied with the food as well. I had my computer bag with me and learned that the restaurant had free Wifi. I was able to go online and show my friends some pictures. We hung out for almost 2 hours socializing. It was a great experience. I will definitely be back.

I was insulted by the chef, before I even ate the food. I asked for my avocado roll with brown rice and was charged $1.00 extra on a tiny 6 piece roll. I mentioned kindly that I had never heard of being charged extra before on a roll for brown rice and was told by the sushi chef to go across the street to Akashi, another japanese restaurant...I think I will next time. The price for the Avocado Roll (6 pieces) on their online menu was a reasonable $2.99 I was charged $3.99 and was told I was wrong about the price, that that was the price for a hand roll. I double checked and I was correct. I took my takeout order & paid the bill any way. I was treated with detachment and disrespect. I would never go back

We've eaten here twice, both times earlier than the dinner rush because we have young children. Each time the service was interminable. Food and location weren't so great that it was worth the wait. We won't be back.

My husband and I had an early dinner here before catching a movie on a Sunday night. The restaurant was empty except for one or two other guests. The chef did not greet us but gave us menus and asked us where we wanted to sit. We chose to sit outside. We waited for about 10 minutes before we even ordered. The waitress was incapable of cracking a smile. She stopped over a total of 3 times and was not very friendly. The first time was to give us water and take our order( since it took so long between arriving and being acknowledged), the second time was to bring us our food and then the third and final time was to give us our check. We keep our expectations pretty open when we try new restaurants and sometimes, I feel like we are nicer and treat the servers with more respect and courtesy then they do us. A waitress' job is not always an easy job but a crabby waitress could drive away patrons even if the food is good. Speaking of food, I truly thought it was mediocre. With the word "authentic" being mentioned all over the menu, you would have thought that the pad thai would be better. The sauce had a reddish tint to it and was much sweeter than I was use to at authentic Thai restaurants. The duck soup that my husband ordered was decent. The broth was perfectly balanced but they skimped on the noodles. I wanted to dine here our first night in Coconut Grove but I was really glad my husband talked me out of it. I would suggest that they brush up on some courtesy skills, be more tentative and up the quality of the food for the prices they charge...then maybe I would recommend it to others.

Went there with coworkers during my lunch break, which is only for one hour. The the service was unbelievably slow. It took more than 40 minutes for the food to come out, despite the fact that the restaurant was almost empty except for one other table. With a party of 4 people, they applied an 18% tip to each of our bills. Then the waiter insisted that we can only use a credit card if the order was at least $20. After paying in cash, I was given the wrong change, making their tip greater, of course. Overall service was bad, we were all late for work, and food was alright. Instead go to Moon Thai on US1.

So.....I'm getting the feeling that I was not the only one that was not impressed with this place. I guess that's what lead it its ultimate demise. Be glad that you didn't have to deal with the crappy service.

It's true, this restaurant has great service. One of the waiters might even give you an oriental bow of his head to thank you. A friendly staff is the only redeeming quality. This restaurant is over-priced. The Thai food was ok but the sushi was not always fresh. I used to come here for lunch specials because I wasn't yet familiar with some of the better tasting and better priced Thai/Sushi restaurants nearby. They have since raised prices and Thai lunch specials are now around $14 which is a bit much for low-grade meat, rice and vegetables. It turns out their lunch specials aren't so special anymore.

I've been ordering from this place since it opened a couple of years ago. Whenever I'm in Miami, not a month goes by without a delivery order or a vist. I've been told many time that there is no minimum for delivery (always at dinner time), I've even waited almost two hours on a Friday night for delivery. Yesterday I was really looking forward to ordering lunch. I ordered $19.50 worth of food and was told they would not deliver it to me since it didn't meet the $20 minimum. I explained to the guy that I order from there all the time and that they've delivered as little as $10 worth of food. I explained that I've spent a LOT of money there and would not order anymore if they didn't think the extra fifty cents could not be overlooked. Not only did they tell me that it was okay not to order there anymore but he actually was laughing at me over the phone as I told him I expected better service. NEVER eating there again and making sure everyone I know doesn't either. A big part of runnign s small business in a small town like coconut grove is customer relations. They don't derserve my business or yours.

Had dinner with my husband last week Wed, he ordered the snapper and he raved about the excellent flavor and nice portion. I has the anaconda Susi roll (a bit over priced) but it was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Service was a bit slow even though there was only one other table occupied ( week night). 17% gratuity is already added to the bill and we had to pay cash because we were using a Groupon, they would not take a credit card. What's up with that?

Sat outside around 9:30 PM on a Thursday, it was good timing as the rowdy Grove crowd hadn't congregated yet. The wind rustling the leafy trees above was romantic in a grove type of way :) Our server was friendly and attentive. Green Curry w/ tofu and brown rice -Mild - Yummy and perfect amount of spiciness, only wish there was more brown rice in the serving Pad Thai with Tofu -Mild - Perfect They get a 5 star for the awesome beer special :) Beer Special 5 Singha Beers for $15

The Tom Yam was pretty good (spicy). The service was a bit slow. My stomach was doing flips after the meal so I would not recommend and I will probably not revisit this place myself. I had a JB roll (Just salmon, cuc, and cream cheese) I felt odd about it and did not finish the whole roll. The ginger salad was a good size and the dressing was the traditional. Tom Yam w/Chicken, yummy

This is our 3rd visit here but, first one in a while and it's safe to say we're not coming back. The service is slow and the food is not that great. They only have one sushi chef on a Friday night and every table is full. Just watched a family leave after being here for 5+ minutes and weren't helped at all.. Sadly, I'm jealous we're committed. We ordered an appetizer come to find out an hour later they're out of it. Hopefully coconut grove does itself a favor and can get rid of this place.

"Under new management" sign hangs in the window. Monday night, our family of 4 are the only people dining...have had empty water for about 10 minutes now....that needs to be addressed...now, regarding the food - large sized nigiri, average fish. The salmon was very good, the mackerel was average...my wife had the red curry & she stated it was the best she's had, so for all of that, this place gets an average rating, cuz it didn't knock me out of my socks, but I will be leaving satisfied

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER EATING HERE! They moved their location and everything has changed! The once friendly service has become a total nightmare. I was put on hold for 20 minutes before i could even give an order for pick up and when the American Girl came back on the phone she was unbeleivably rude and hung up in my face. I have been going here and calling out for take away for years and I have to say that the changes lately are such a HUGE departure from the way it was just 6 months ago in the other location ( dry pad thai, just unexciting food and now this ) that I have really made me wonder about the quality of the food too. The place is just a bunch of slobs now and I'm going to Atchanas from now on!

My boyfriend and I are locals in the Grove and have eaten here a few times when we get thai cravings. The Pad Thai is one of the best I've had. My boyfriend always gets the teriyaki chicken which he loves. We haven't had sushi yet but that's the next on our list. It's quieter and more comfortable than Akashi and service is always great.

Food was very good and the service was great. Not a seat was available tonight, both inside and out. Would recommend.

I came here without assumption. I came because it was the middle of the day, I was in the neighborhood, I was looking to eat something, and I was all the sudden in the mood for a seaweed salad. I checked the menu and they had one so I ate there. Not thinking it would be enough and because I am a huge fan of the dish I also ordered the unagi don (aka unajyu) knowing full well that I wouldn't be able to finish both. Both were large and delicious...well above average for U.S. restaurants serving these items. The environment was so-so and the music was some horrible creature singing about jesus so I had to sit outside. Since this is in Miami that's a real option even in December, but I would not have eaten there if dining in that environment was the only option. The tables weren't clean, the lights were out, it was overall unwelcoming (which might explain why I was the only customer...and I was eating at 2:20pm).

I have eaten at this location in Coconut Grove and the one in Hallandale Beach. Both serve excellent food. I love the fact that I can eat some sushi to get me warmed up and then Thai food as my main course. My favorite roll is the Dragon Roll and I love the curry. Also, don't go home without trying the tempura cheescake. It was fabulous! It had a really light tempura batter coating but stayed cool and creamy inside. I've never had anything like it before. The service was great and the staff is extremely friendly.

The service was good, however, the food was poor. Pad Thai was made with what tasted like BBQ sauce. Truly did not even resemble Pas Thai. Tuna sushi rolls were very water logged. I have read other reviews and hope that I just caught them on a bad night. Honestly, it would take a lot for me to return and spend $40 on a lite dinner with no drinks.
