tom yum gai is great... smells and taste awesome... definitely gets your appetite going... try the spicy basil pork hot and spicy and ask for the spice rack if need to add more zing... or just get it so that you can try all the different spices they have... the menu is quite extensive and since this place is both japanese and thai... you can imagine how much selection you have... the place is much bigger than it looks from the outside and while smaller restaurants nearby may fill up quick on a weekend night, this is a great "plan b" option... not saying that this place is always our secondary/backup option but we have our favorites... this is their original location and since, they have opened many other locations around town inc aventura and south beach but not quite sure if it's a franchise or all owned by the same owner(s)... the traditional decor w imported wood gives the place a nice authentic feel to it and adds to the whole experience... although I must say it is more thai than japanese but they do have a full sushi bar available if you do like like to eat right by where the sushi chefs are... note: the huge dining area is not all... on the way to the bathroom, you will discover another section of the restaurant that is a sports bar area w multiple screens streaming various sport events... so yes, they have a full bar and even if you don't feel like eating in a sit-down style restaurant... you can have a pad thai and a beer and watch your favorite game on TV in the bar side... the wait staff are usually pretty attentive and the runners often keep your tea and water replenished so the service is pretty good... i like this location the best bec there is usually no wait and it is a convenient location for us... cheers!

Hands down my favourite Thai place in Miami! Volcano chicken is amazing, Crispy Duck is great, and the I've enjoyed sushi rolls as well (although they aren't my fav thing to get here). Service is usually pretty good most of the time, but I have been there a couple of times when the servers all but forgot we were there.

The food is ok here but the management is terrible. My family sat there for 40 minutes waiting for sushi while they made take out orders ahead of us. We walked out.
(2)Dana D.
I'm rating my experience with take out today: Because of limited lunch time, I called in to place an order with a co worker. I told the receptionist that we would be dining in and that we were on our way. She told me that she could not do that. I then sarcastically asked if I could place the order for take out but sit at their tables and eat, to which the lady replied " It will be more expensive because we are charging you for the take out box." Thank you Sea Siam for such a pleasant first time.

very good. Great place for a last minute dinner
(4)James E.
Very good food. Nice Thai / Japanese ambiance. Friendly staff. Not overpriced which is a nice change for Pinecrest.

Two words, Volcano Chicken, that is all.

Pathetic customer service. Avoid this place if you want an enjoyable experience. My wife's family have been going to Sea Siam for years. We went there last night and were treated terribly by their bartender. It was a busy night so we went to the bar to wait for our table. We saw the bartender serving someone a drink, so we waited for him to attend to us. We waited for about 10 minutes while he checked his cell phone, ignored us and walked away from the bar. When he came back and we asks for a drink, he said "I can't deal with you now. If you're waiting for a table wait in the other room." No please, sorry or explanation...just completely rude and obnoxious behavior. I responded with "OK then, we'll take our business elsewhere". He then replied, "Fine, go ahead". We will never go back to this restaurant so they just lost some regulars with his pathetic behavior. Get a clue on how to treat customers or don't be in the service business.

I loved the interior! The design was really thematic and got you in the mood for Thai. I also liked how you could look into the sushi bar. The service was quick and attentive. They always made sure our glasses are full. The menu has a lot of options so there is something for everyone to eat. My sister and I got a late dinner and ordered a house salad, curry puff appetizer, and pad Thai. I also had green tea to drink, which was so delicious. It comes unsweetened so you are able to add your preference of sugar. The salad was nothing special- lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and a peanut sauce. The curry puff appetizer came with five small curry puffs and they were so delicious. They were really fluffy and had a great mixture of curry. Also it wasn't too filling so you still wanted to eat your dinner! The pad Thai was a-okay. I've had better. If I come back then I would try other things on the menu

WORST SERVICE EVER. We waited an hour to sit down. No one came to the table for 15 minutes after sitting down. (Not busy on a Thursday night). Waitress did not greet us or offer us drinks only took our order. She forgot to place our sushi order at the sushi bar and brought us our sushi 10-15 minutes after we had finished our main course. This was after we told her we no longer wanted the sushi. We were a party of 6 which is the minimum for including the tip on the check. She clearly did not care what we thought of her or the place. Food was cold, mediocre at best. I will never return. This is after coming here often for the past year.

They changed their egg rolls. Now they closely resemble and taste like frozen egg Mrs. Chung's spring rolls that I can get at Publix for half the price. How could they change their delicious egg rolls?!
(3)Jesse M.
Heard good reviews from friend. Came in for dinner, and i think this was the best sushi I've had so far. great presentation, quick service, nice ambiance, big portions, fresh quality. will be coming back.

After visiting with family near homestead, I found this place via yelp on my way back to Broward. I was absolutely starving and sushi was on my mind. After reading a few reviews I opted for the dragon roll & the Tom Kha shrimp soup which I asked them to add coconut milk & spice. My toddler was acting out so after being seated, I had to ask them to make my order to go which they kindly did with no problems. While we waited on our food to be prepared, the staff took a liking to my daughter and all began playing with her which really calmed her down a lot since she was in meltdown mode. I truly appreciated them for this. When the food came, I decided to not try to drive all the way home before eating so I had a little in-car picnic with the baby. She had pb & j, banana & milk in her bag. The first bite of my Dragon roll was like heaven on earth! The avocado was fresh, the shrimp was crisp & so was the asparagus. I couldn't wait to taste my soup which I chose to eat last because it was so hot. Although they added a tad too much coconut milk, it was still fantastic & with the perfect amount of fire. I'm kinda sad that this place is so far from home for me. I may have to pay my relatives a visit more often just for an excuse to visit Sea Siam again. Delicious!!
(4)Sureya S.
My favorite Sushi/ Thai house. Dragon rolls, pad thai, chili fish, etc. Perfect every time.
(5)Aaron L.
I try to go here at least twice a month. Rainbow roll, Sea Siam roll, and chicken pad thai are my favorites, but everything is delicious.
(5)Kristin N.
I came here with a friend for lunch and I have to say that I was very impressed. I always wondered what was in this little shopping center, and to my surprise this little gem of a place was Delish. I ordered the bagel roll and pad Thai. I have tried the pad Thai from different places and this place is up on my list. The sushi was fresh which is a plus in my book. We came during lunch and it was around the holiday season so they may have been more busy than expected, but we had to wait a bit for the water and our food. I then had to flag the waitress down to get the bill. Other than the service the food was really good. I will definitely have to try this place out again with my boyfriend soon. xo kristin nicole

This is a great Thai restaurant with great prices ESPECIALLY during lunch. Ive been coming here for years and I don't have ANY complaints whatsoever. The staff are always friendly and attentive as well.
(4)John B.
Excellent food that is consistently-well prepared. Menu offerings are extensive, and the staff is always friendly. I have been eating there since 1986, and the quality has always been great. There is a separate room for the bar, which features several large-screen televisions (you can eat your meal there on weekends). I have experienced neither bad service nor a bad meal since I first ate there. The curries are fantastic, and the Pad Thai is awesome. Soups and appetizers are a bit pricey, but the Tom Kha Gai is worth it. Yes, it is located in a strip-mall (where the old Serpentarium had been located), and the ambience/atmosphere is sometimes noisy, but that's part of the entire eating experience - enjoying a great meal while talking with your friends.
(5)Mark J.
I'm only giving Sea Siam 3 stars because it is just "A-Ok" --all the dishes are good, not great or amazing. From a food prospective Sea Siam is a safe bet if you want some good Japanese or Thai food. The service is great and restaurant decor makes you feel like you're in an wise elderly Asian household (in a good way) ! If you're in the area of South Miami/Pinecrest it is worth checking out. Great for families or if you are in a rush to eat--they are very timely with their service. Shrimp soup is great, Thai donuts, and Sashimi dishes are very fresh. OK. I lie, the Thai donuts are to die for and I can eat them for breakfast lunch and dinner. Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Presentation: 5/5 Location: 4/5
(3)Derek S.
Good sushi and good Thai but I think you cans find better of each within a couple miles. The ability to have either is the draw for me here.
(3)Paula E.
dude ugh what happened? I used to love this place, it was my family's favorite go-to Thai place and they used to have it together, the menu was huge and the pricing was relatively decent for the amount of food you got (including the very generous portions of rice with your thai entrees.) I was there on a impromptu food run the other night and to say I was disappointed beyond belief is a gross understatement. The menu was different so I'm assuming they changed management, the prices had gone up and the menu had shrank severely. The list of rolls/sushi is now mediocre at best. We made our orders; Panang curry for my date and a French roll for myself. Simple. The curry got there uncomfortably quick. So he sat there politely and we continued our conversation assuming that the roll (the cold dish) wouldn't be too far away. Some minutes go by and the food runner returns to our table and asks if everything is okay hinting at the fact that he hadn't began eating his dish yet. Yeah, he is waiting for my food to get here...??!! f'real? He looked bewildered... there's supposed to be another dish?? uhmm yeah last time I checked, 1+1= 2 believe it or not. At this point I just told him to please start eating. He had ordered it super spicy but a couple of chillis thrown in there didn't really make the cut. Also the little cup of rice they now offer wasn't even enough to make a damper on the sauce dish, and if you're picky with your curry like I am, you don't want your rice soggy, you want it firm but flavorful...fail Finally my roll arrives and it looks like the blandest thing on earth, also I noted that on the menu it said it had roe, which was nowhere to be found. I was starving so I didn't say anything and ate it anyway. Sure service is attentive, but that doesn't really help when you don't have your shit together. :Sigh: what happened Sea Siam?
(2)Gracie S.
I have been coming here for almost 4 years now and this place hasn't disappointed me not even once. The lunch portions and prices is definitely worth a shot. I would recommend the ginger snapper
(5)Salene S.
Great food amd service. I always sit at the bar with 'el chino loco' he's hilarious and makes great rolls! Very fairly priced and delicious sushi!!
(5)Nydia M.
Sea Siam didn't do a damned thing for me. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to sushi, but this place almost put me to sleep. Sorry, Sea Siam, but I'd much rather drive 10 minutes North and go to Akashi.
(2)jen r.
sea siam continues to be my favorite thai/sushi restaurant. i had a conch roll last time i was there that was to die for!!! the pad thai is awesome as is the volcano chicken. the restaurant is usually packed but you can always take out.
(5)Leslie G.
Located in side a shopping Center Next to Suniland Baseball Park. Very friendly staff, Good Service. My coworkers always got the Sushi & they give big portions. Chicken Teriyaki great but wouldnt go out of my way just to have it.!
(3)Luz I.
This is the first time I've visited this restaurant and was very pleased with their service. The food was delicious and very fresh. We only had sushi rolls but all were very fresh and beautifully presented.
(4)Yana S.
Love this place!!!! Best sushi in the neighborhood. I've never dined-in, only gotten takeout because I'm always in a rush. I always order the sushi tempura roll and beef fried rice, really freakin good for takeout! It feeds the whole family, great price, and taste amazing!!
(5)Mercedes D.
I love the long islands! The dragon roll is so yummy.
(5)Turbo Smurf X.
Why. Just why. Their volcano chicken is made with something that taste like rubber chips or shavings that are used in playgrrounds. The servers take your plate away before you are done. The place USED to be good but has gone down the tubes. If you want good Thai go up the road a bit to a little strip mall. Much better food, much better service, and much better customer appreication from management.
(1)Ana L.
Very good Thai food! Been around for many years and excellent service. Recommend the volcano chicken spicy. Pretty good green tea. Don't really recommend the Thai donuts here.
(4)Melissa M.
My favorite place for Thai and Sushi! Atmosphere: Enter Thailand via strip mall off US1. Food/Quality/Value: Great quality, large portions, perfect for family outing or date. They have a full selection of sushi and Thai cuisine. Recommendations: Dragon Roll, Volcano Chicken, Pad Thai * Bring a sweater. It's always cold (probably to keep the fish fresh).
(5)Elyse W.
Go here for Thai, not sushi. Their sushi's okay, actually, sometimes the sushi bar kind of stinks of old, raw fish but their Thai is pretty fucking good. Duck (go with the Ped Nam Dang) and whole fried fish dishes are the best, anything the comes from the sea Thai-wise is good call here, especially in the chili sauce variety. Coconut soup is excellent as are their appetizer spin on samosas (I think it's called curry fritters or something along those lines). If you want some dinner entertainment, check out the bar. Didn't know there was a bar? Neither did I until recently. When you enter the restaurant, there's a door immediately to your right. Go through it. It's super seedy and lime-green looking, but the bartender is a total character, and if he likes you, sometimes he'll hook you up with some free booze. Sometimes.
(4)Sarah S.
This was my neighborhood haunt for years when I lived in the area. By far the best Pad Thai in Miami (only rivaled by the one at Siam Palace), great panang curry, and I love their green papaya salad the best (perfectly crisp, sweet, vinegary and spicy). Take out is super quick too.
(4)Jill G.
I have been going there for years and as others have mentioned most staff don't even acknowledge that they even know you. I love the food and love going to lunch there. Over the years the roll that comes with the lunch special has shrunk in size by 75% and has no flavor, but over all the the food is very good. There is one lunch time waitress who is very unfriendly but others make up for her rudness.
(4)Lady V.
Been here a couple of times and really enjoyed my Yellow Curry chicken.. But this time, I almost died from the salt content! Mom's Shrimp Curry was also salty.. Wasn't happy with the service either.. This place has changed.. Its not like it used to be!! I take back my rating from my last visit here in January 2011.. Won't go there again!
(1)Jason O.
This is part of my regular rotation for Thai (along with Siam Palace or nearby Tani, both of whom have a different menu structure, or at least used to), especially if I have a craving for the clear noodles. Sadly some out-of-town friends recommended it to me 5 years ago. Anyhow, very good Thai food, good curries, and yes you get to end a meal with Thai Donuts. I do not get to go as often anymore, but we still trek here ocassionally or enjoy a meal after shopping at the Falls. Never tried the sushi and really, IMO great sushi doesn't belong in hybrids anyhow.
(4)Maria C.
Dragon roll, american dream roll... So good. I've never had the Thai, but Jacob C. says it's good, so I believe him. Best part of Sea Siam is the off-the-beaten-path bar. It's on the right when you walk in. There are tv's and it's much quieter. I love it. Service is excellent. LOVE THIS PLACE!!
(5)Frank H.
This is my favorite place for sushi. The ingridients are always very fresh, and the portions are always filling. Their Thai menu is great as well. They have an amazing Coconut milk w/chicken soup. Favorite sushi: Dragon Roll and Red Rose roll. Their white tuna sashimi is also amazing. Staff: they are generally very nice, especially the guy who greets you when you first come in. Some of the waitresses can be slow, i find the males to be more attentive and have better attitudes.
(4)EM L.
One of the best Thai restaurants in South Florida. Excellent Curry and Pad Thai dishes.
(4)Frank G.
The Best Sushi in Miami, Hands Down. Always Fresh. Great staff, Great Service. Been here many many times. Never had any issue, nor the need to send something back. Not much else to say because everything is excellent here. Great place to introduce friends to sushi for the first time.
(5)Ron S.
I'm in. The best Thai in Miami so far for me, although I'm always looking Agreed, the lunch specials are great, as the prices definitely go up for dinner/weekends
(5)Francisco B.
Nicely Thai decorated. Located where the Miami Serpentarium used to be at. Quick service and takeout. The Thai food is so so. Did not try the Sushi. Average price per guest is 30.00
(2)Gianni D.
I was recommended this place when I had a freelance gig a couple blocks away. My friend said that he had never had better thai or sushi anywhere in Miami. I tried it and have been going there ever since. The chicken pad thai is amazing. At the sushi counter in the restaurant the staff is great, they serve you a special spicy salad you cannot get if you sit at a booth or table. You get another special treat sometimes for sitting at the counter, they serve you a sliced freezing orange served in its own skin as a bowl and with a clear glaze. I have seen their dragon rolls and some of their other Thai dishes and everything always looks amazing!! Highly recommended.
(5)claire t.
I'm a huge fan of Sea Siam. Whether i'm in the mood for sushi or thai food, this place is the way to go. I love their pad thai or the pad woon sen (sp?) Excellent to order take out because it's right by my house. In my experience, the service has been a little slow when you dine in the restaurtant, but i think the food makes up for it. If you live further north, this is definitely worth the drive.
(4)Jaimie C.
Sea Siam is the best Thai/Sushi combo restaurant in Miami. It is located on US 1 South in Pinecrest. Every single thing on the menu is good. I have never been disappointed. Get there early because on most nights they get very busy and there is usually a not-too-long line. The service is very efficient, friendly, and quick. The gyoza (steamed) is great. The sweet Red Chili Whole Snapper is to DIE for! The Coconut Chicken soup is excellent (and very filling), and the Dragon Roll is the bomb! I go there on the average once a week, and just keep coming back for more!
(5)Vanessa S.
The staff here was SUPER attentive, and the Volcano Chicken wasn't a total dissapointment but I've had better.
(2)Jacob C.
Sea Siam is simply delicious. I can't remember ever having to wait to get a table. The service is always excellent and friendly, and of course the food is phenominal. One of my personal favorites there is the Panang Curry. It's one of the best I've ever had. If you're in the mood for some really good Thai food then give Sea Siam a shot.
(5)Meli G.
Excellent pad thai!!! a fellow yelper recommended Origins, which I will be hitting up next time, but I was by the Falls and decided to stop by Sea Siam on the recommendation of another friend. I was not disappointed! I had the chicken pad thai and my fiance had sushi (bagel roll and red rose), I tried the latter and thought it was very good and presented very nicely. The restaurant is clean and the service was excellent. I skipped out on the Thai donuts since I had some yesterday :), but it would have been the perfect end to a great meal.

this is gonna be one of those update reviews eventually. i need to revisit the sushi menu as my last experience was over 3 years ago. after coming across some gift certificates last night to tango's and arriving only to find it CLOSED FOREVERMORE, i shrugged to boyfriend, "wanna try sea siam? it's pretty good from what i remember." i had originally decided on sushi but after being seated for a few minutes (and waiting way too long for a server), the smell of panang curry did sorcery on my brain bits. i convinced boyfriend to order it and got their tofu pad thai for myself. i'd like to go ahead and take this opportunity to commend sea siam for including tofu as a protein option instead of responding with a flummoxed look when i ask for it. really, every other thai/sushi place? you are completely incredulous when i ask for something that's THE FOUNDATION OF YOUR FUCKING DIET? moving on, the panang curry proved to be all talk and no action. the flavors didn't really come through. pretty disappointing. the pad thai, however...wow. that shit can go head to head with moon any day. the peanut sauce was rich and aromatic and the whole thing really exploded after a few squirts of lime juice. the tofu planks were fried to a crispy finish and were the ideal size for absorbing all the dish's flavor. with cubes of tofu, you end up with a delicious outside but a bland, flavorless middle, so props to the physics department. i'm truly looking forward to cracking open that doggie bag for lunch today. the thai donuts were a little confusing, as the condensed milk dipping sauce had sesame seeds in it, which made for a very unusual flavor combination. not bad just, i would've liked crushed peanuts, that's all. as far as the service goes, can someone explain to me why there was a carousel of 4 servers to ONE table for two? there was the lady that took our drink orders, then another lady that brought the drinks, then the guy that brought our food, then the guy that brought me limes, then the check, then our doggie bags, then the same guy that brought our food, then the same lady that brought the drinks...it was extremely weird and confusing. with a horde of wait staff descending upon on our table, not once did they offer to refill our drinks. i suppose i DIDN'T need another kirin light but they could've - no, SHOULD'VE asked.
(3)Ashlee S.
This was my neighborhood Thai restaurant for 15 years and I have never been disappointed yet. Now I live about half an hour away, but I am still a regular. The sushi is always really fresh and their Thai dishes are delicious. Their spicy tuna roll is my favorite in town. The staff is always very friendly and the service is excellent. The prices are reasonable and they have a great lunch special during the week.
(5)Kirsten L.
Been here many times because it's my dad's favorite place for sushi. You can dine in the main dining room, and there is also a separate area to the right as soon as you enter that has a bar with small TVs and more dining tables. I've eaten once at the bar, and the bartender was very nice. The food is always good quality, and the prices are reasonable. The spicy tuna roll is different, topped with plenty of sweet and spicy sauce. I love coming here with a group and getting one of the big sushi boats. The chicken pad thai is yummy, one of the better ones I've had. I'm not a big fan of curry but my bf really enjoyed the yellow curry. Anything tempura here is great too! And I'm surprised others have complained about the staff. Every time I've been there, the staff has been very friendly and attentive.

Sea Siam is a terrific place to experience Thai and Japanese cuisine in a beautiful environment. Sea Siam is fairly large, with several distinct dining areas: - the main room, with Thai art depicting mythological creatures and a lot of wood decoration, as well as the sushi bar - the Bar proper - and some neat booths behind the bar that have gauzy curtains and bead drapes. There's often a wait if you come for dinner, especially on a weekend, and they keep raising the number of people required for a reservation (7 the last time I checked). Service is always friendly, although at times slow. The menu is large, and divided into Thai and Japanese items. Food arrives with a touch of presentation - they're known for their artfully cut oranges, and orchid blossoms adorn some plates. The sushi is some of the best we've had anywhere. The salmon teriyaki is also a standout, with a generous portion of fish in a terrific sauce. In fact, their sauces for many things stand out as exceptional. For fun, order the chicken appetizer which comes with a small metal brazier aflame, on which you can sear your meat to your heart's content. If you like food spicy, they'll make it spicy - even up to making you cry. They're very accommodating about special requests. After being semi-regulars for years, we had our wedding reception dinner here, and they worked hard to make it truly special. Thank you, Sea Siam!
(5)Jen F.
Sushi is awesome, appetizers are delicious, staff is always attentive and friendly. The Dragon roll is excellent. Definitely worth making one of your regular spots! I can't wait until they open the location at 137th and 120th!
(4)Melissa P.
So far Sea Siam is my favorite Thai spot in Miami and I've been going there for about 10 years. But, we went there for dinner last night and had mixed feelings about it. Service was good and the Red Rose Roll and Tiger's Tear Salad were very good as they always are. However, the Shrimp in a Blanket appetizer had virtually no pork stuffing and even less flavor. I tried the Baked Curry Shrimp for the first time @ $19. It was THREE average sized shrimp slathered with a very dark brown crab stuffing mixture that tasted nothing like crab and only like overly sweet "something" swimming in a red curry sauce w/peas. This was a very disappointing dish. My BF got the Sirloin Steak and when the menu says "marinated with Thai seasoning," they don't mean seasoning, they mean a pool of teriyaki-like sauce, which totally overwhelmed any flavor that poor cut of meat might have had. I've had the Basil Duck before and while it has good flavor the meat is dry and the skin is rubbery. The Pad Woonsen and Coconut Shrimp have been consistently good but it seems that the overall quality has gone down in the past 5 years or so.
(4)Isaac T.
my favorite thai/sushi spot. never disappoints. great sushi rolls, great Thai food. every dish I've had never disappointed. it's also pretty cheap to drink there.
(5)Manuel G.
The Pad woon sen(clear noodles) are the best I have had anywhere other than maybe in Thailand itself. This place is owned by the same people as the Siam Lotus room in South Miami, but I prefer this location. Service has always been good, and very reasonable prices, also ,great lunch specials.
(5)Valerie D.
Sea Siam is a stand out restaurant!!! whatever you order is always delicious and your servers are always smiling and helpful. I have never been disappointed here. This is probably why they are always packed full of people no matter if it is during the week.
(5)Rachel K.
the lunch specials give you the best bang for your buck. theres a shrimp salad from the appetizer section thats to die for. i love everything on their menu.
(5)Christina N.
This is my family and I only favorite Thai restaurant, we go almost every other week or in the mood for some Thai or sushi.. We come here every year on my birthday as well. The staff is so down to earth and polite and they always greet you warmly when you walk in, waiters/waitress checks up on you and never leave you stranded. The pad Thai is scrumptious and so savory. I often come her because of their sushi as well. It's always fresh and delicious, never a disappointment. The decor always gets me in a Thai mood, like I just been transported haha. Nothing bad to say about their customer service, food and decor, the only complaint is that almost ever time I go there, there is always a noisy customer. Other people are trying to have a nice quiet dinner so please shut up.
(5)Jackie H.
Although I frequent this restaurant, I must say, it is not out of personal preference. It's more because the family always chooses it, and because it's so close to us. This location can be very loud if visited during busy hours, but at times it can be an enjoyable experience. It really is a "luck of the draw" type situation. The food experience has been so-so, mediocre at best. The combination fried rice tasted good, pretty flavorful, but unfortunately very oily to me. Yes, I realize it's fried rice, but it left me with a lip gloss sensation afterword. I'll let you think about that. I enjoyed the beef and chicken satay, it was tender and nicely seasoned with a good balance of curry and coconut milk. But I think for what we got, it was a bit overpriced. For my preference, the miso is too salty and the salad although pretty fresh is overdressed, however, these are things that vary from person to person. Lastly, the pad thai was also pretty oily, barely tasted like anything, and the chicken was overcooked and rubbery. The last time I ate sushi there I was highly disappointed. We ordered a double for two, it's a lot of sushi and it takes four of us to finish it. The JB and California rolls were okay, even the Nigiri were okay, but when I reached out for a salmon sashimi*, it just felt and tasted terribly wrong. I was disgusted, and even got goose bumps, but thank goodness I had a napkin in my purse. I had to spit the sashimi out because I felt like if I swallowed it, I would've gotten sick. Ever since then, I've been scared to order sushi again. (*I've had ok tasting sashimi there on previous occasions, but this is not something I like to gamble about) Service Pros: I've had good experiences with service; they try to get to know you, service is quick, and they even try to remember our past orders. On an in between note, one of our waiters messed up our order, but she quickly and happily corrected it. {She picked up the sashimi from the boat, and exchanged it for what we had ordered. I hope they threw it away? *suspense!*} Cons: We have been victim to a random plate or silverware being dirty, but it's nothing that can't be fixed. Extra: It might be time for new covers on the booth seats, they're looking a bit weathered down. and they may want to consider re-tiling or deep cleaning the tiles by the sink in the women's bathroom (maybe men's as well?) as they're covered in mildew.

Sea Siam has always been a favorite restaurant of my family. We have been going there for years. We always get an order of jumping squid. The last three times we ordered it, it has been really fishy and just not good at all. I don't know if there is a new cook or a recioe has changed, but it's pretty bad. Everything else is amazing, as usual. Best pad thai and pad king!

I don't like writing a disappointing review but I feel it's to help one way or another. I went today and ordered a lunch special which included a soup of the day (flavorless broth with noodles and pieces of chicken), an egg roll (smallest I've ever seen) and yellow curry with beef, with very good spice level but the flavor wasn't right. It was a $10 lunch special in which I got what I paid for.

My husband and I had a late lunch Sea Siam. The food was ok. The prices are reasonable, portion size are very good, and service was also very good. The restaurant is a bit run down and can use a bit of updating. My husband ordered the Pad Thai Beef and he thought it was pretty good. I am not making this up but to me it smell like my Yorkie's paws. Overall, I did enjoy the food and would probably return.

An Asian blend loch ness hidden amongst a plaza of delights. Ok so it isn't really elusive. The oriental lion statues guarding the entrance and huge blue sign make it easy to find. As far as aesthetics go, SS was as pleasing as it could be for being just another hole in a shopping plaza. It's fairly dark on the side with the bar due to a lack of lighting (the used all the bulbs from the roof to decorate the bar) and tinted windows. Not a bad thing necessarily, especially if it's a blind date and he/she isn't very appealing... which wasn't the case for me. I thought the menu was pretty interesting. First time at a thai spot for me - tossing in some Japanese bites in the menu definitely helps ease you into the experience. The prices were a little higher than i was expecting since it isnt in a hot or trendy location, but the moderations were filling so we can look passed the few extra bucks. Waitress was attentative and checked on us many times as we sifted through the endless menu for 15 minutes before finally deciding what to get. Once we ordered, the appetizer (seaweed salad) came out fairly quickly but the sushi and main dishes took quite a while. My date and I are bother pretty boring, so this was almost torturous. We started with a "seaweed salad" - what can anyone really say about seaweed salad in general? Salty grass. It definitely wasnt overdone though, we both thought it was done right. Next came an order of "California eel rolls". The rolls looked and tasted great, but seemed like they were losely wrapped and difficult to keep together - even with my karate kid style chop stick mastery. About 4 1/2 hours later the main dishes came. I had the "Chicken pad king" and i cant recall what my date had. The veggies in my dish were just right and the ginger sauce really made that chicken. My date's dish revolved around a sauce that looked like baby vomit, and it very well could have been, but after a few dips in that sauce it actually started to taste decent. Definitely go with the ginger over anything green though! Overall we thought it was all nicely done and tastey. Something i found odd is that my dish seemed to have a lot more meat in it than my date's, i almost wonder if they cater to size? If so then they got it right. If not then we got lucky. FYI sodas are $1.50 per tiny glass. It's 2014.. where them free refills at?

We can call a Sea Siam 'the gateway' because its the restaurant that made me love Thai... And then venture into other Asian cuisines that I now love. So like any other gateways... It can be dangerous, like wanting to eat Thai and Vietnamese every day dangerous. Whenever I try other Thai places, I compare it to sea siam as being my gold standard. Yes, Bangkok Bangkok is good, tani Thai is good, moon is ok... But sea siam is still my número uno. I've ordered everything on the menu and their tom kha gai soup is so freaking good, I want some right now. Many times I get the ginger salad and gang dang curry chicken. Best curry I've ever had- aside from Thailand. Let me warn you, if you say Thai hot- they'll give it to you. And you'll be sweating, but it's a good sweat. Last time we sat at the bar with the owner (I think) and drank wine cracking jokes with him. Sometimes he's super dry and sometimes he's loose. That's humankind, can't fault him for it. I digress... So I ordered the Miami vice 2, which is salmon, asparagus and avocado wrapped in cucumber. It was so good, might be my new go-to. It's really light but enough protein to keep me full! Save yourself some time and sit at the bar! No kids there either-- dig it!

I am sucker for Sushi Thai, but I couldn't just enjoy this place. Feels like its much more expensive and mediocre taste than any other place I been to. By no means bad, but I don't see a reason to return. Basic Pad Thai was satisfactory. Tom Yum Goong was small but lots of shrimp. Sushi was fresh but definitely pricy.

I have been coming here for many years.. The menu is good and the people are friendly. I have been down at them at times, but i always go back because it is the best thai in the area. The sushi is good, the lunch menu is excellent, the gaNg dang is delicious

I was a bit skeptical of going to a Thai and Japanese restaurant. We had dishes from both and were quite satisfied. Mee Krob: 2/5 - I would pass on this. It's missing shrimp, or another savory flavor. Usuzuriuri (thinly sliced sashimi): 4/5 - We had it with yellowtail and salmon - both thinly sliced and so fresh. The only thing missing was a paper-thin slice of jalapeno on each piece. The ponzu sauce is great with it. The portion is quite large. When we order it at other restaurants, it's half the size for the same price. Fried Whole Red Snapper with Ginger sauce - 4/5 - only order this if you actually eat the whole fish. I love ordering the whole fish, and I'm the type to pick it apart, head to tail. You won't be disappointed if you're the same way. It's a sweet ginger sauce, but not too sweet. It's a bit pricey at $28, but so tasty. Crazy Roll: 5/5 - salmon skin and unagi... delicious combination. We would order this again.

My family and I have been going to this restaurant for the last 10 years and we have never been disappointed. It's always consistent, very tasty great recipes, awesome sushi, awesome Thai food. The Decour is old-school but the food and service a wonderful. I highly recommend trying the butterfly role and the coconut milk Thai soup with shrimp.

Great lunch specials, which include soup and salad. Highly recommend the volcano chicken, pad Thai, Dragon roll and the red rose roll. Fresh sushi, friendly service.

I must preface by saying...i've been coming here for years! This is the usual spot where my bestfriend and I grab lunch. Over the years, i have recommended this place profusely to friends and co-workers. It is the perfect place for lunch because of the low price point of their lunch menu, the food is fantastic and the service is good. Dinner is good too...It has quickly become everyone's favorite lunch spot. The red curry and chili fish are some of my favorite dishes here. Give it a go if you enjoy thai food or if you want to try!

Had the chicken Pad Bai Gra-pound for lunch. Fresh and flavorful, but rather skimpy on the rice noodles. Service was a bit rushed, presumably because I walked in a half hour before lunch service was to end.

I celebrate nearly every family member's birthday here! Always a great experience! :)

It was our first time at this restaurant. We started off with the shrimp in a blanket and the vegetable tempura as appetizers. They were delicious. The batter was perfect on the tempura and it was perfectly fried to a nice crisp. I will say though that for the first price, the shrimp in a blanket wasn't really worth it. For drinks we had Thai tea and that was delicious. For the main course, I got something simply, I ordered the pad Thai with pork and my mom ordered the volcano roll. The pad Thai had a nice level of spice, which I liked, but overall I wouldn't order it again. The volcano roll was a disappointment. The topping was over cooked and there really wasn't anything volcano about it. It was actually more of like a really crispy pancake. The roll underneath was pretty good since their take one the roll was with salmon, but still it wasn't what I expected. As far as the service, our server was really nice and attentive, but the wait between the appetizer and the main course was too long. By the time the food arrived I was no longer really craving what I ordered. All in all it really isn't a place I would typically come back to. Maybe I just came on an off night.

This makes me sad.. We have been coming to this neighborhood restaurant for years & have been there so often that the waiters know us. The restaurant was sold and under new management in the last couple of years & there has been subtle cutbacks & changes & price increases but still we have always experienced good reliable food/service. Unfortunately, last night we ordered the Tom Ka Gai (chicken coconut milk lemongrass soup) & the Cashew Chicken. My husband & I both got VERY ill shortly after leaving. I called the restaurant & asked to speak to the manager to let them know about the incident & hopefully prevent anyone else getting sick. They took a message but no one ever called me back! I called AGAIN & was told that the manager was off that day...so I asked to speak to whomever was in charge. They actually told me that NO ONE was in charge! REALLY?!? Maybe that could be the problem! We were really hoping that this was a one-time accident but this is totally unexceptable.

Took ten minutes between my wife getting her food and me getting mine. They will charge you for each refill and their food is comparable to panda express. The waiter was rude and took forever to take our order. I will not be returning and I will not recommend this restaurant.

We sat down for about 15 minutes before the waitress came to take our order. The first thing she told us was "I have no time." She was impatient and walked away when we weren't immediately ready to order. Apparently, the kitchen had no time to cook our food either, as the green beans and peppers in our green curry were completely uncooked. We took it home to cook it ourselves. We also ordered pad see ew, and what arrived was pad Thai.

Sushi Siam is one of those "staple" places -- a place that has been around forever and is still going strong. I remember coming here for a date about 13 years ago but the place is even older than that, I believe my parents were coming here in the 80s. Unfortunately, their webpage design is poor and any information about the restaurant is lacking. Sometimes, it can impress people if you have a good story behind the restaurant, as well as a timetable of their history. Maybe I'm weird for liking to read such things. They have a great lunch special deal, but I always seem to miss it, as I tend to be in the Pinecrest area in the evening, but if you're on a budget, try to get their lunch special. They have the standard Thai menu or Sushi menu, and everything is always fresh. Prices are quite reasonable for Pinecrest, but because the place is almost always full, the service can be quite slow. I think I waited a good 15-20 minutes before a server stopped by and said "are you being helped?". Once the order was placed though, the food came out of the kitchen at a speedy pace. I wasn't particularly hungry so I ordered a Tom Yum Gai soup and a Jumping Squid. The Jumping Squid was delicious, although I wish they had put in more lime juice, as it got lost between the leaves of lettuce on the bottom. The Tom Yum Gai was also good, but it seems to be pretty comparable to every Thai restaurant's Tom Yum Gai. I'd like to give 3.5 stars, just because service could be improved, but considering they have been around for so long and the food is tasty and fresh, 3 stars didn't seem like enough so I will be generous and provide a 4 star rating.

Food was just okay. The exception: we ordered a roll that was off the menu (I came with regulars) and it was so good! (How do I order this again??! :/ ) Also the massaman curry was good.. panang curry needs work--kinda bland. Check came out to $160 for four people at dinner.. kind of a lot for thai food and some sushi

Let me preface my review by saying that I've been a regular customer at Sea Siam for over 15 years. This restaurant has been my go-to place for first dates, lunch meetings, meet-ups with friends, etc. When it comes to quality Japanese/Thai food, Sea Siam nails it. They have unbeatable soups (you can't go wrong with Won Ton), delicious curries (try the duck Gang Ped), and fresh sushi (the Red Rose Roll is rich in awesomeness). In all of my experiences, I can never recall leaving this place feeling unsatisfied or disgusted. Additionally, they have excellent customer service and many of their staff have worked there for years. At times, service can be slow, but never to the point of annoyance. I highly recommend Sea Siam. It's charming atmosphere and savory dishes will surely catch anyone's appetite. PS: Don't forget the Thai Doughnuts!

Best sushi in Miami. The place looks bad but the food is great! I love the Dragon roll, the American Dream and the Volcano! Desserts are nice too!
(4)Natalie C.
We've been coming here for years with the family. The volcano chicken is our favorite and you can't go wrong with the vegetable spring rolls. Glad they changed them back to the old recipe. The new one wasn't as good. Overall everything we've tried has been good. Can't go wrong here.
(4)Wade S.
The best food in THE WHOLE WORLD. If you like Thai and or Japanese this is the place to go.
(5)Anna F.
I used to love this place, but it has gone way down in quality. The only thing I liked were the curry puffs, which were miniscule. The chicken in the soup was rubbery and had an unpleasant smell. The volcano chicken was dry with barely any sauce. They used to give unlimited rice, but now they charge you if you want anything more than a cup. The sushi did not taste particularly fresh. And the wait staff seemed just as unhappy as we were.
(1)Chris D.
Easily my favorite sushi spot in Miami. The American Dream Roll and Red Rose Roll are incredible. Also, whatever the sushi chef's special is, go with it. Everything is fresh and delicious. Coconut Shrimp is out of this world too.
(5)Adrienne C.
Just a little annoyed, I am. It's not the food...Pretty good, that is... Even the service is prompt and efficient if a bit impersonal..one of those Asian places that you could be patronizing for years and no one will ever acknowledge that they ever saw you before. That they're happy that you choose their establishment over myriad others is , well, nice..Friendly and welcoming, though not mandatory are just...nice. I've been there, almost always with the same friend many times. Volcano rolls are perfect. French rolls are tres yummy, 90% of all I've ordered is excellent but... Katsu chicken is, variable. Once, about year ago, it was very dry. We said something, it was exchanged for a grilled sauced chicken dish. Delicious. About 6 months and several visits later, (One) of our Thai soups was entirely tooooo lemony. We asked for a (one) different soup and were reminded by the owner who came to the table that we had a "reputation" for returning food...and we should make sure we order what we like. (!!) Last week, while my friend was visiting the bathroom, the waiter put in her place her salad and a dish of edamame. I ate a few and gave some to her son. When she came back, she ate some and gave a few more to her son. We then came to the realization that neither of us had ordered them. When we mentioned to the waiter that they were not ours, he promptly picked them up and,...(it is to be hoped), threw them out. If they didn't, I don't wanna know about it. The point being, they 'should' have said,(with a smile), enjoy them!..it's not as if they delivered a new Cadillac to my house accidentally. No, I'm not trying to get away with a free appetizer...it would have been good business to just leave them on the table. ...And it didn't surprize me that they were added to the check, but they were removed when I mentioned it. It's just that I'm feeling a bit like a persona non grata.., and I'm not the customer from hell, really.. I don't want to walk into an establishment with wincing trepidation, with, playing in my head, the what-if-something-is-not-right-and-I-have-to return-it, scenario.

Best yellowtail sashimi I've EVER had!! Rolls are huge, sauces are excellent, wasabi is hot, and a nice strong pour for cocktails!! Excellent food and service!!!
(5)Nicole F.
This is the worst sushi place I have ever gone to. Service was terrible she wasn't personable, I got the seaweed salad which was good, the edamame was unbelievably salty, and the volcano roll..... It looked like someone puked over it. It was a flip of mayonnaise on top of rolls... I have never seen a volcano roll like that... I hesitated a bit to try it and when I did it was so bad... I only tasted mayonnaise. I am not exaggerating, I was dry heaving as it was bad. I am a sushi lover and had many volcano tolls before but this was horrible. When I told the waitress I didn't like it, she said they couldn't do anything about it. I was livid and asked for a manager, 40 minutes later and after much evasion from the waitress, a manager asked what happened and I told her. She asked if I knew what a volcano roll was and I said that I have had it many times before and she interjected and said" but not here!" I answered her that if I knew it was this disgusting I wouldn't have ordered it. And that it didn't look presentable. She asked if I wanted to take it home.... My friend then got into it and said why would I take it home if I didn't like it... Then she asked if I wanted anything else, I said no because I lost my appetite. Do yourself a favor.... Save your money and go to somewhere cleaner and better than this.

Went here with some friends who recommended this place as on of the best thai/japanese restaurants they know in Miami. Kissing roll is delicious. It is now one of my favorite rolls. Thanks Haronyd N. for the recommendation! I also tried the pad thai and it was very good. The restaurant has old decor, you can tell they have been here for a while and the interesting thing is the bar. They have a huge sportslike looking bar on one side of the restaurant. I will definitely go back and try more dishes!
(4)Diana H.
Whenever I'm in the area, I always try and make it out to Sea Siam. I really love that they offer not one, but two riceless rolls. Miami Vice # 1 & 2. Though this is a fusion of Thai and Japanese, I can only voucher for the Japanese portion. And voucher I will. Service is always spot on. I've never had a bad experience food or service wise. I've had several items on the menu and none have failed so I would definitely advise to order whatever appeals to you. Desserts are amazing. They are beautiful and mouth watering. I am not usually a dessert person, but I cannot skip it when I'm here. I'm diggin' it.

Volcano Chicken... sizzle.... Great place to eat and catch a game. Great local regulars. A definite favorite.
(5)Yaritza G.
Their food is amazing ! And service is great. Good thing I live in the other side of Miami otherwise I would be there a lot lol.
(5)Jason M.
Love this place! This was our favorite Thai place. They always deliver nothing but the best service and the best food. Their red curry and pad woonsen are out of this world. Their pad thai is also absolutely delicious. The red rose sushi roll is also one of our favorites and has the best sauce! Needless to say, this is a great place. Gets super busy on the weekend so be prepared to wait, but it's well worth it.
(5)Wai C.
Unfortunately, I though my meal was simply lack luster. The food is really watered down and doesn't pack the punch as most traditional Thai food does. Maybe it's because I have had great Thai food and traveled all over Asia, but I just didn't think the food was good or something I'd go back to. I guess it's good for people that don't know any better or have never experienced what 'real' Thai food should taste like. Also, it's a Thai restaurant, since when do Thai people eat sushi?! I bumped them up a star for having good service and prompt food delivery
(3)O'Henry C.
food was excellent. started with tom yum gai soup. medium spice was just right. my entree was pad see eiew. they serve this together with white rice, which is perfect. only concern was the service (had to waive someone down or ask them twice about two requests). great food. mediocre service.

I have been to SS a total of two times. Once it was a pleasant experience. Sat at the bar awaiting my carryout order and was pleased with the result. The other day I took el niño for a ride to pickup some sushi. There was a total of ZERO people sitting inside the bar area to the right. I sit down with the boy and the bartender says, "sorry, he can't sit here, it's the rules." I explain to him that there is no provision in the Florida Statutes that prohibits him from sitting here and I would like to order some carryout. Nope. Can't do it. Now I understand why some bar outlets say a kid can't sit there. They don't want the tikes taking up space drinking club soda while somebody could be plunking down much more dough for a liquor drink. Understood. As a former bar operator, I respect that. But there was nobody there! After a brief conversation with the management, I left. Never to return again. Too bad. They have a nice little operation there. The owner needs to train his people to be accomodating.

Went for a last minute dinner on a Saturday night. What a hidden gem! The hubby and I enjoyed drinks and 2 entrees, the pad thai, and the red curry tofu. Very delicious! They also have sushi on their menu if you so desire................ The service was on point , very attentive. We will definitely be coming back. YUM

Fresh, clean, friendly. The sushi is great. The Thai is really good as well. My wife and love it when we have a chance to eat here.
