I seriously can't find a thing wrong with this place! I've come here's my times and it's never a bad time. The chino loco roll is my current obsession. California rolls topped with fresh crab meat and crispy tempura. It probably should be shared buuuuuut I don't share lol! They're dragon rolls are great too. I'd skip the fried ice cream and go for the Thai donuts.just sayin...

I love it here! My son and I are regulars and frequent Sea Siam Connection twice a month on average. The food is fresh and the servers are friendly and attentive! We have enjoyed the chicken pad Thai, red curry chicken, red curry shrimp, beef fried rice, shrimp teriyaki roll, Dragon roll, Rainbow roll, and the volcano shrimp. All are Very Good!

Not sure why this place had such a high rating, def not good Thai food. Their volcano chicken was gross and chicken looked old. The shrimp in a blanket were completely flavorless. My wife's sushi was just okay. Prefer to go to matsuri any day over this joint. What angered me even more was when I returned food that clearly looked terrible I was given an attitude and not so much as an apology or explanation. Would not recommend at all, with so many places to dine at, why come here?

Lunch from 11-3. But apparently 2:40 pm is considered 3, and you can't get lunch. So if you're trying to eat here, I'm guessing you should get here before 2:30 and you MIGHT be able to get some food.

Just picked up a take out order that was discounted because they messed up our order the first time around. On visit number one, we ordered the pad thai and found (at home) that it tasted like absolutely nothing. We took it back and they agreed, offering us a refund and discount for the next visit. The troubling thing is that the pad thai had all the right color. Apparently, the chefs neglected to add some "sauce," which tells me they're just using some prepackaged seasoning. Why pay a restaurant for that?

I came here once by myself (so rare!) for lunch and had the Panang Curry. It was $9. It was perfectly sweet and savory with a good amount of chicken and bell peppers. (Btw, My favorite place for Panang Curry is Moon Thai on Kendall and 163 Ave) But the one here ay Sea Siam is a close competetor. Bangkok Bangkok on Kendall and 127ave also kakes a killer Panang Curry. Is this review for Panang Curry or Sea Siam? Geez...sorry, I'm sitting here waiting for my order so all I can think about is FOOD. FOOD. FOOD. Sea Siam is in the giant plaza across from the Miami Executive Airport but towards the East end of it (Closer to Costco). The decor is nice and the ambience is relaxing. Its a good casual ans inexpensive place for couples and big groups alike. Today I am trying out the Volcano Chicken. A common Thai dish. (Which I've loooove from Siam Bistro on Sunset & 117) It is crispy battered chicken in a garlic chili sauce. It comes with white rice (+$1 for brown) The sauce is alright. Its too sweet for me and has zero spice which was unexpected. :/ The chicken has a little bit of a crispiness to it but isn't overly battered. I appreciate that they pacakged the Chili sauce on the side by default to keep the chicken crispy. Sadly, I don't feel like this amount of food is worth $17. I feel that $12 for this meal is appropriate. Also, I wish I could upgrade my white rice to Fried Rice. I'd be willing to pay the difference if its under $4. I just don't want my entree AND an entire entree size of fried rice. I suppose that and the lack of Delivery service is what prompted the 4 stars instead of 5. Either way, I'll be back again when I'm in the area.

We are native Californians and defiantly do not have this fresh of fish where we come from. Amazing sushi rolls, great sashimi, great customer service, a little pricey but what great sushi isn't? We paid $120 total and got 6 full rolls and one appetizer plus alcoholic drinks.

Well this is based on my food. I had three rainbow roll with salmon inside instead of imitation crab and well it was mediocre the rice tasted smoked. My husband ordered volcano chicken since this is a Thai place and it looked disgusting and it has to taste worse because my husband never returns anything and he took one bite and returned it. The service is nice but the food isn't good. And since I made the crab be changed to salmon (which by the way the salmon was very tiny in the inside) plus Brown rice in the outside it cost 15!!! Not worth it. Drive down to Bonsai or drive to Matsuri for some good sushi. Bleh my stomach hurts!

I've been addicted to this place since 2 months ago when I first visited. Since then I've been dining here at least twice a week. Quality Thai food!!! Great service!! Good ambiance!! And an important detail for me: great music.

Since I have tried several of the rolls here and none have been to my liking, today I decided to give Sea Siam another shot by ordering their Pho with chicken. TOTAL let down! The broth was totally watered down, it had none of the flavors associated with Pho coming through (anise or ginger). On top of it all they didn't even pack any Thai basil, which would have at least added more flavor to the broth. Sorry Sea Siam... I've tried to like you, but I think today was probably my last visit :(

This used to be one of my favorite neighborhood spots. It's the sister restaurant of Sea Siam in Pinecrest (one of my favorite restaurants, by the way) so I had high hopes for this one. I've been coming here since it's open a few years back. The restaurant has gone down since in terms of food selection and service. I'm a big fan of raw sushi, majority of their rolls are deep fried or cooked. They have some specialty rolls for $17 and they are just ehhh. They have a "supper rich" roll with blue crab with a yellow mayo sauce (not to be confused with spicy mayo) on top and tuna and veg wrapped inside. It had a strong taste, you'd either love it or hate it. I was on the fence. Their specialty rolls taste like they're missing something. Sushi is fresh tho, it's always a plus in my book not to catch food poisoning when I eat sushi. I stick to my spicy conch/octopus, seaweed salad, and sashimi sampler (sadly, they don't offer exotic fish). The wait staff outright sucks. Dude barely came to my table to ask how my food was and took forever to place my order and bring my check. It pains me to say that I'll keep coming back because my family loves their food & as long as they have my spicy conch/ octopus, I'll be ok.

Thai and Japanese under one roof, is always a plus. This local spot has been open for about 4-5 years now, its the cousin restaurant of Sea Siam, the far superior location about 8 miles away. They both have almost the same menus, but this location has a much smaller sushi menu. Limitited mainly by cooked, deep-fried rolls. I must say though the raw sushi is always fresh, which is a major factor as to why i do return here from time to time. The Thai cuisine is always great, either it being masalaa curry beef, tom kai ghai, ginger fish, or chicken pad thai. The main downfall though is the Service, I dont know if its that they dont have enough servers or the ones they have are not trained very well, they are not attentive or nor very helpful. Food is good-4, sushi variety limited-2, but extremely fresh-5, service is poor-2, menu is slightly pricey -3, so all in all i Would say a 3.4, Iwill continue to dine here due to lack of fresh sushi restaurants in the area

This place never disappoints. Every time I come in I leave satisfied with my meal. This past time I was happy to see they have added Vietnamese dishes to their menu. Although I didn't try the Pho this time around, I will return to taste it. It's hard to find good Vietnamese in my neighborhood.

Excellent quality Thai. Sushi is OK, nothing terribly special. Too much rice in the rolls IMHO. Nice decor. Staff is usually great. I've seen the manager be a jerk to customers though. But never had a bad experience personally. I go regularly.

You can taste how fresh the food is here. Obsessed with Lunch combo#3. Order here at least once a week. All that is missing for them is deliver to my job instead of me picking it up. But it's so good and worth it!!!!!!

Even though this is conveniently located near my house, I honestly wouldn't mind traveling a little farther to get better food and better service. Came here the other night with my friend & father. It's a typical Asian fusion though the name is very Thai, serving Thai - Viet - Japanese. For a "Thai" restaurant, I'm actually VERY surprised that they do not sell Tiger Tear salad here. It's the best. I asked anyhow, they knew exactly what it was and said they could accommodate me. Great! Much to my chagrin, it was a small salad, BARELY any lettuce AND they charged me a ridiculous $10 for it. No bueno. Food here overall was just alright. Even though I asked for spicy, food didn't have the kick I wanted nor some of my favorite flavors that Thai food is known for. I loved loved this restaurant back on the US1 side, this Kendall experience was lackluster. Sidenote: this review is NOT based off of one dining experience.

I already have my fav sushi spot that I frequent. But I was in need of a place near the house that I could order take out from whenever I had the urge. Today was the third time I order take out and I'm yet to be disappointed. The restaurant always appears clean. For me , it is important to walk into a sushi restaurant and not smell fish. Yes I have encountered that smell. Not here though, what I smell is a delicate and distinct rice vinegar aroma. The service is great . I've only ordered take out and the gentleman in the front already recognized me and treated me like a regular. The roll that I have ordered now for the third time in a row, is the Dragon roll. Obviously it keeps me coming back. I also ordered the chicken pad Thai which was delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauce was just right. I look forward to my new experiences here. Not sure if I would dine in, but definitely my new take out spot.

Sea siam was one of my favorite restaurants growing up and when they opened one down the street from me, I nearly danced in the streets! I absolutely love this place! It's a bit different from the pinecrest one and it seems that the menu is adapted a bit, but all the food I've has here was great. Curry is freaking unbelievable-- get it hot! Also, their Vietnamese options are really tasty. Lunch specials are a steal!

Weekday lunch specials were really good. Great price vs value. I would had given them 5 stars, but the coconut chicken soup was bahhhh, not so good. Would definitely go back

I go to this restaurant quite frequently and I wanted to give them the credit they deserve. There is something comforting about seeing the same smiling faces every time...it certainly says that the employees enjoy the environment. Happy employees, happy guests. I am a vegetarian and they have so many options for me to try unlike the majority of other restaurants. I have never had anything that wasn't wonderful. Thank you staff and management for a great neighborhood restaurant.

I am a big fan of Thai and other Oriental foods. This location offers both Japanese Sushi and Thai Cuisine. Located off of 120th Street and 137th Avenue (SW) near the Tamiami Airport itis a little hidden but can be found easily... (Hint- It's next to the RIcky Bakery and the FIve Guys) Serving deliciously prepared Thai and Japanese Cuisine, (I tried the Thai this time) it exceeded my expectations in terms of service, ambiance, and taste. Decorated in an almost minimalist fashion, the decor lends itself to what is a great eating experience. If you sit along the far wall you can get a great feel for the space. The service was excellent. My waitress, who goes by the name of Mim, was helpful and friendly. She offered suggestions and made sure that everything was perfect before bringing the food to the table. I ordered a dish of jumbo (and I mean, JUMBO) shrimp, japanese eggplant, and red peppers in a spicy sauce, an assorted appetizer dish of various rolls, dumplings, and lettuce wraps, and for dessert the Thai Donuts.... everything was perfectly prepared and the flavor amazed. I would greatly recommend you order the Crispy Duck ( I will next time I come here...) The table next to mine was having two orders and it was happily devoured. Why patrons don't fight over the last piece, I don't know... Look for another posting on this restaurant soon. May bring my Duck Commander Whistle next time..... Because of the great service, I chose to tip 25%. I know Mim was very happy when she saw it was in cash!

The sushi was very disappointing. I had a plain eel roll and there were tiny bones in it. It was pretty gross. The seaweed salad was old. It had a fishy, slimy taste/texture that I've never experienced before. Service here is pretty bad. The waitress complained that we wanted our checks split and actually refused to do it. We were a large part of about 11, and I know it is a little extra work. I've never had a waiter refuse to do it though. She also never came by for drink refills. Yes, they actually charge you for the take out containers they use for your order. The food is a little overpriced considering the portions and quality of the cooking and ingredients. It is pretty ballsy for them to charge for take our containers too. I don't recommend this restaurant.

Really enjoy this restaurant. The decor is simple, but decent enough. I enjoy the atmosphere and music. Wait staff is very friendly. Food is delicious. Highly recommended starter: Tuna tower - fabulous! Best sushi roll: Happy ending roll After dinner - try the Vietnamese coffee I have never been disappointed here.

Always fresh food, and great service. It's one of my favorite spots around my house. If I have a problem with any of the items, they just either exchange it for something else I would like, or take it out of my check without any issues at all. Of course, that, it's rarely necessary because the food it's always delicious and to our satisfaction. An awesome menu, a better preparation and really good service. Don't get tired of coming here.

This place used to be decent. After coming over a handful of times, I've decided to go with a solid 3. Worst thing about this place are the prices. $6 for a small bowl of edamame? No thank you. Not to mention it comes with an insane amount of salt. Pad thai ($12) is always greasy, I don't know why. It tastes good.. sure... soak anything in oil and salt and I'm sure you'll get a some taste somewhere in there. But it's mediocre at best. I really hate the oily feeling on my lips afterwards (along with the guilt of having just eaten a bowl of greasy carbs) And please sea siam.. chop your scallions. Who cuts scallions in fours and throws them in ANY dish? It's ridiculous. Sushi is decent but nothing remarkable. Service is always a miss. I usually go during lunch time and for some reason waiters are always standing around doing nothing. Our waiter was literally sitting at a booth. hahahaha. He was just chilling there, minding his own business. My gf had to wave him down for a while before he noticed. For amazing and more reasonably priced japanese and thai: Fujiya and Rock a Bangkok.

We hit up Sea Siam occasionally when we need our Thai and sushi fix. The gang dang (red curry) with chicken is always exactly the way we expect it to be, flavorful, rich, and loaded with bamboo shoots. The pad wootsen is a favorite for my wife. The blend of noodles and chicken with the light sauce is exceptional. My youngest son really enjoys the Sashimi Mori and my older son loves the chicken pad Thai. We try to avoid the busy nights because it gets pretty crowded, and occasionally order take-out. There are several decent Japanese restaurants in the Southwest Kendall area, but Sea Siam offers the best menu and variety. You can't go wrong dining here.

Modern restaurant. Our server was very attentive and gave great suggestions. To start I had the house salad with ginger dressing, I am a ginger dressing junkie and it was great. We ordered the dragon roll and it was delish, had tempura shrimp, cream cheese, and asparagus inside, it was topped with thinly sliced avocado. For main we shared the panang chicken curry, it was very good, had just the right amount of spice. We didn't have dessert but will leave room next time.

Really loved this place! Our table ordered volcano chicken, chicken pad Thai, volcano rolls and one of the plantain rolls. The sushi rolls were one of the best I've ever had---absolutely delicious! The plantain roll has a sweet sauce that accompanies it. Very different and delectable! The pad Thai and volcano chicken didn't amaze me, but the two rolls were so good I just had to award them 5 stars. The service was excellent as well.

Definitely coming back to this place if we visit Miami again. The food was great especially the jumbo shrimp with noodles and volcano roll. The price was quite expensive that's why it's only 4 stars. I highly recommend this place to those who are looking for great sushi and great food.

My boyfriend and I work nearby, and we are always looking for a place to go for our lunch break. We stopped here last week, and ordered a spider roll (soft shell crab), chicken pad Thai, and chicken with veggies. Each dish was delicious, and tasted like it was made with care..which is very rare in restaurants these days. We loved it so much we returned the next day for a volcano roll, pho, and beef with mushrooms. Both times we received miso soup / chicken soup, and a spring roll with our lunches. Both times the bill came to $31! Very pleased. The staff remembered us and were SK sweet. I will be back! Probably tomorrow, actually.

I begin eating my food and found a hair on my mouth while chewing I told the waitress and he offered to bring me something else. Of course I wasn't hungry anymore, so I said no. What bother me the most is that there was no apology. A ruined evening for me. Will never go there again:(

Great little spot for lunch and dinner. Nice decor, great tasting food and friendly service. Try the tuna tatarki special (not to be confused with regular tuna tataki). Great desert as well.

Really love this place. I go a few times a month and they never disappoint. My favorite is the Chino Loco roll, it's yummmmyyyy...My Kids love the teriyaki chicken and the fried rice. Service is pretty good. If shopping at London Square and you get hungry, definitely go there.

I went to this restaurant on a lunch date with my sister during my lunch hour at work. I've had take out sushi from here before so I thought it would be a good place to try a sit down meal and chat. The food was good and tasty but nothing special. We both ordered the chicken ginger pad thai, with the soup of the day, a spring roll and an order of the Thai donuts to share. Those were yummy! However, I'm not sure if my review on the food is somewhat biased from the lack of attention and customer service we received. They took 10 minutes just to get our drink order, by that time we already knew what we wanted to order. We also did not get any refills because our waitress never came back around to check for a need of refill. Actually, every time we needed something we had to look for someone to help us because she never came by to check up on us and our needs. I was not impressed. It's a shame, cuz it's a cozy place with a good ambiance and tasty food, and I actually saw Asians eating there (which I've been told is a good sign if you want authentic food from an Asian restaurant, to be general) ...but their customer service definitely needs work.

If you want to be waited on for lunch... Good luck! Our second attempt. First time the waitress was slower than molasses. This last time we sat for five minutes and no one even attempted to bring us water. We walked out after not being acknowledged. Besides their lack of service, food is just ok.

Curry - winner... Fried vegetable rice - nice flavor.. Spring roll and Sushi - too mediocre to write about.... Will return to try another curry if I am on that side of town.

Note that I base this on only one dinner here, and state as follows. Went here for dinner on a Saturday night, and was very pleasantly surprised in a good way. The place was pretty full, and (shocking for Kendall) it actually felt like there was a bit of a scene. The decor is modern and trendy (which I am a fan of), and the music (chill electronica) was well suited for the environment. Now, onto the food. First the prices are incredibly reasonable. The menu is extensive. We got the wakame/seaweed salad and a some kind of spicy shrimp salad. Both were tasty and well prepared. The best part was a Vietnamese style "bun"/vermicelli noodle beef soup. There are few places in town that have pho, and not only do they have it here but there's 4-5 other similar types of soups (which, for the uninitiated, constitute a meal in themselves). The soup was incredibly tasty, the beef was high quality and, again, the price ($12 I think) was a solid value. Since my move to the Crossings/Kendall area 8 months ago I have been to multiple restaurants that are either dead on a weekend night, have overrated food or otherwise left me underwhelmed. This spot is not one of them. I would be happy to take out of town visitors here, and am excited to further explore the menu. Recommended without qualification.

Service is awesome as so is the food. They recognize us everytime we go in there. Order the vietnamese summer rolls and then the "bun" that has all the fresh pork or chicken plus bean sprouts/carrots/rice noodles/plus a great dressing. Eat half and take the rest home. Delicious. We haven't ordered anything else but we love the freshness of it all.

One of the best Thai restaurants in Kendall. We usually stick to the curries on the menu. We've also had their sushi on many occasions...they don't disappoint. Very friendly staff. Great chill atmosphere.

This is a very good place to eat. Food is extremely fresh and on point. If I need anything the accommodate my request without giving me problems. Service is fast, I come here all the time for lunch with a group of my co-workers and they treat us all very well. I am not the easiest person to satisfy but I do recommend this place to everyone.

  • Jenny Q. V.

I ordered the lunch special chicken with cashew nut. It comes with a soup and spring roll. Both the soup and spring roll were really tasty but I have to say the spring roll could of been hotter. As for the main dish it didn't have to much chicken which I'm usually fine with since I rather eat more veggies then anything on a Thai dish.. bUt it didn't have to many veggies. I've had this dish and several places and this was probably my least favorite. To top it off it my main dish was room temp...yeah I'm not sure I'll try this place again.

I've been here a few times and it has never disappointed me. Probably one of the best Thai places in Miami. The service is great and worth it. Try the pad-Thai or the fosoup. The desserts are on point.

I was visiting my husband for lunch and wanted to stop in here for something a little more festive than fast food for Valentine's Day. The place was decked out for the occasion with balloons all over. The hostess promptly sat us, but it took our server a bit to come over and offer us water much less take our order. We were seated right before their lunch rush, but felt other tables were getting a bit more attention even after being seated after we were. That was the only hiccup during the visit though. After placing our order (lunch specials are by far their best bet and are very filling and a great value), we were immediately served our soup and spring roll that accompanied our meal. I got the Pad King with beef and my husband ordered the garlic duck. Both were tasty! Overall not a bad place to stop!

Good sushi and thai. Consistent and fresh. Their take out used to be off but they stepped up their game. We get take out every other week and the staff is very friendly and makes an effort to make sure their guest's needs are met. A while back I had a bad review because of the take out, but things have really changed. Glad I gave the place a second chance.

I wanted to take my eldest to try thai food and I recall that Thai restaurants make Thai donuts. The place was clean, not many guests. My son chose something vey spicy which he loved, it had a peanut sauce. I ordered the donuts. I was dissapointed as the donuts came with s green dipping sauce that I was not used to. I have had Thai donuts before at different restaurants and the sauce is just plain condense milk. At SIAM I didn't like the green sauce therefore I was not a happy camper. Overall, the place is ok, I might have to go and try more stuff off their menu in order to give them a chance.

This place is a hidden gem! It's in the London Square shopping center, and the food is just unbelievable! I visited this past Friday after a long day at work! We started off with a $14 bottle of wine. It was "on sale" and exactly what we needed! For an appetizer, I ordered the Ka Nom Jeeb (steamed dumplings with pork and crab meat). They were great, and there were lots of other tempting appetizers I wanted to try. The curry puffs are next! For the main course, I ordered the Gang Dang (Red curry with beef). They let you decide how spicy you want it...I chose medium and it was delish! The sauce was creamy and full of flavor! My friend ordered sushi. She got the Volcano roll (salmon, cream cheese, avocado, scallions), and it was awesome! It has a conch topping that just makes it over the top delicious! We ended our meal with an order of Thai donuts. They were orgasmic! I look forward to dining here again! I have no doubt this place will become a favorite due to their great food and service!

I like this location more than the Pinecrest one. More open air , newer, better service, and the sushi is very good. I have never had a bad experience in the many times I've been.

My wife and I had the lunch specials. She had the Pad Thai and I had the red curry with chicken. Both dishes were delicious, but the Pad Thai was superior to the curry. The spring rolls with the soup of the day were great, as well as the soup. Service was slower than anticipated due to the busy lunch hour. Overall, the food was great, presentation was nice as well, but the service could be a little better.

Decided to go for an early dinner before work. My bf and I decided here because they serve Pho, something that he was craving. This is a thai restaurant btw and Pho is vietnamese. So their pho was pretty decent but not my favorite. Broth is light and on the bland side with very little beef. I ordered the Vietnamese bun bo hue, which is suppose to be a spicy lemongrass beef broth noodle soup. I have to say that this does not taste like bun bo hue. The broth is not spicy at all I had to put all the jalepenos and extra chili sauce in to get the spice I wanted. It is also very bland and watered down. I am Vietnamese heritage and I LOVE Vietnamese food. So I am A-OK with this place to get a quick fix for my cravings. This is a good place for people who have not tried Vietnamese and want to try something new and HOPEFULLY one day a totally authentic Vietnamese restaurant will pop up.

YUM! Me likey!!! Went there the other day with my girls. We ordered chicken pad thai (really, really good, but spicy); edamame (good; perfect amount of salt); a roll with shrimp, crab, avacado, and cream cheese (the bomb!); and ginger salad (yumm!!) I was really impressed with this place. I have been looking for a sushi place that I actually love and finally found it. I definitely recommend!

My wife and I decided to give this place another try. It still has the same "modern" decor that I wasn't too find of. But this time the food was delicious. We each had a lunch special (volcano chicken and basil beef). I decided to re-review this place mostly for the price and quality of food. The atmosphere I'm still trying to warm up to. Lol.

Went with my girlfriend for her birthday dinner. Honestly, Great decision. Had a mix of Japanese & Thai. Amazing! Sushi was fresh & tasteful, while the Thai plates were substantial and downright delicious. Extremely Recommend To Try!

The reason this place gets hands down 5 stars is because of their excellent customer service! There's this young man who is always my server and never fails to disappoint me. I've had other servers but whenever he is there I always ask for his service. I've been here for lunch as well as dinner and they have big plates of food with lunch special prices. I love sushi so much I've tried it almost every where you can think of but if you want a kickass dragon roll this is the place to go! As mentioned before they do have big quantities of food there is at least 2 serving sizes per plate. I also love love love the chicken pad thai....yumm!! For dessert Thai Donuts!! You definitely need to try if you live near London Square!

Great lunch specials and fresh sushi ! The cashew chicken is great and the egg rolls are crispy yet fluffy on the inside

Great sushi and pad thai in the burbs. Great spot to grab a quick lunch. We went there for lunch on a Thursday and it was pretty packed so the word is getting out.

This is one of my favorite Asian restaurants. Sea Siam has great food and great service. They're dragon roll is incredible and the volcano chicken is also phenomenal. Most importantly, they're vegetable roll is really good allowing me to invite my fiancé (fish allergy) to have the sushi that I love. Make sure to ask for the eel sauce and spicy mayo, it's delicious with the dragon roll!

Good but not great. I got a spicy tuna roll where the "spice" was provided by a sauce over the top of the roll that really wasn't all that spicy. This is typical of most Thai places, they tend to really kill the spice in their food to keep non-Thais happy. I should have known and told them to REALLY make it spicy. For the meal I had beef massaman curry. It was good but the potato was ever so slightly undercooked and a bit too firm. Still very tasty though. With Five Guys almost next door, I'd be sorely tempted to go there instead if I was ever in this neighborhood again.

This place is over priced for the portion they serve n its not even authentic crusine they say it is to cool the newbies who dont know the real asian taste ... to the native tongue its not even close to authentic ...

  • Johnny L.

Really nice restaurant in the middle of a strip mall. It's located next to a Five Guys Burger as well, so they probably have some competition, but this place is more upscale and trendy. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was underdressed. I came here with the intention of getting basil duck for lunch and I was going to the gym afterwards, so there I am with a tee and shorts. Everyone else had on "working clothes", but whatever...I was hungry. The interior is real nice and very clean. The staff was cool and all, but not a smile among them. The menu has your traditional Thai staples like Pad Thai and Japanese staples like tempura and sushi. Like I mentioned earlier, I came for the duck. The lunch specials are varied but all come with miso soup, spring roll, and fried egg rice. The miso soup was real good actually and a little on the saltier side, but it came with a good amount of meat (minced pork pieces) and tofu and not as many green onions. The spring roll was small, but crispy and tasted good. However, I'm sure you can buy the same kind in the frozen section of your local asian market. The duck had a great taste to it. The meat was tender and the skin was lightly crisp. However, the lunch portion of the duck basil was seriously lacking. There was maybe a quarter of a duck there? Really wish the portion was bigger. The fried rice was great too, but again....not enough. I left feeling somewhat satisfied but was hoping to be full and to be able to take stuff home. The lunch was good enough for a normal person, but my stomach is not that of a "normal person". Food was good and the duck lunch special is $9.95. Other lunch options are cheaper. Good place but too far out and unspectacular to venture back.

A local lunch favorite. Great Pho Thai and my wife loves the Pad Puk. Sushi is fresh and service is decent albeit a little impersonal but professional and fast for the most part. Definitely recommend. Pho Thai tip - squeeze the whole wedge of lime in, drop the jalapeño peppers in and take them out at desired spice (or sriracha for instant heat). Occasionally drop in bean sprouts and herbs for crunch.

Located in London Square Plaza, Sea Siam is one of my favorite places to go to for Pad Thai. Delicious. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere, almost to the point that it's quiet. It's never crowded and the inside is pretty classy and clean, great for families. They also have an extensive list of sushi, get the Volcano roll if you're not into Pad Thai. The staff was friendly and attentive, I'm not quite sure if my waitress spoke English but she tried and that's all that matters. Definitely a hot spot in the Kendall area.

This is my favorite Thai place! Sure sure, they have a modern, chic atmosphere, but the best thing about their place is their food! I've been here twice, and each time the food is perfect. Everything is always extremely fresh, flavorful, and nice n hot! I've had a lot of tofu pad thai, being that its my favorite food, and I can confidently tell you that their pad thai is the bed I've EVER had. Their veggi sushi rolls are delcicious as well! If you order hot green tea, they serve it in a glass, which is cool, because you see the color, which is actually really green! The waiters are always really nice as well. Its my all time favorite place, and I would drive an hour to go there xD

I really like this place. The decor is great... you dont feel like you're in the heart of crazy Kendall... it's very modern and chic, w/ a nice brick wall and big paintings of buddahs and such. Very NY. The food is pretty good. I am in love w/ their Pad See Eiew (sorry, that's spelled wrong) which is similar to Pad Thai in that it is a mixtures of noodles, beef, eggs, and veggies. But the noodles in this dish are wide... about 1 inch wide, which are really interesting. It's also not peanut-y like Pad Thai, it's more of a garlicky soy flavor, which is awesome. I haven't seen this dish @ any of the other Thai places I frequent. Their sushi is pretty good too. They have a wide variety of rolls. The few we have ordered have been great.... very fresh. They also offer the delicious Vietnamese iced coffee served w/ condensed milk... out of control. This is a must try. The service is not bad. They move pretty quick and the food comes out generally fast.

A chill little place right down the street from my house that I don't visit often enough. Sea Siam Connection is a really relaxed restaurant, perfect for a lunch date or family outing. The staff is always smiling, and willing to help with any little thing. Very attentive and organized. The ideal time to come in is from 11-3 for the lunch specials. They have a large selection of very good sushi, and the overall maintenance of the place is A+. I'm not a big fan of the poppy background music, and would expect something a touch more ambient and Asianesque. The overall decor of the restaurant is really well done. Overall a great place to come grab a bite in the middle of the day or night.

Found this one through yelp and ordered a Pad Puck for pickup. It was ready on time and tasted good. The portion was a bit on the light side for me since I eat a lot but really not that bad for the price.

Very trendy, clean, fast service and of course delish food. I was used to going to the one located on US1 but that one is a much older restaurant and the service is not the greatest. The sushi is outstanding, very fresh and there is a good variety to pick from. The sitr fry is real good also, and be careful with the appetizers, a couple can easily become your meal. Thouse salad ginger dressing is the best I have tried compared to other restaurants, and even when I order take out, the food is fresh, and neatly packed. Overall, great, quiet place to have in the middle of that strip mall.

First time coming here, and I gotta say great first impression. The vibe and environment is clean and friendly. You don't have Pitbull yelling as background music. I got the ceviche salad, very fresh and crisp, and vey flavorful. Also got the spicy tuna and Siam roll, highly recommend. All in all great place. Just wish they had more specials.

This place is located in London Square Plaza right next to Misha's cupcakes. I'm pretty much attached to my 3 year old so I am always looking for kid friendly places. This one though, has a way to go to get there. I'll start with positive: The dining room is beautiful. Very modern, spacious, seating is very comfortable, and most importantly, everything seemed very clean. The service was good. I wouldn't say amazing because it was kind of slow, but our waitress was very nice and I got smiles from everyone working there. The Thai donuts were fantastic! The JB roll and the Kanisu were pretty good. On with the negative: Long story short: no milk for the kids (what restaurant doesn't have milk??) , no apple juice, & no kids menu. OK, no big deal, but when the only other option is cranberry juice and paying $16 for chicken and rice that: #1. my son will eat a quarter of and #2. will end up in my refrigerator and eventually thrown away because nobody touched it, I'm bothered. We ended up ordering it anyways of course, but go figure, it was the last dish to come out. Seriously? That should have been the first one! Our food was OK, but not great. The Volcano Roll had a strange taste that I was not able to identify (very fishy), which made me a bit uneasy. I've heard the actual THAI food at this place is really good. I did not try it this time, but I will the next. I might also try the one on US1 to see the difference.

Great ambiance, the staff is very attentive without being overbearing. Had the Vietnamese Ceviche which was very refreshing with a nice tangy kick. Also had the Spicy Tuna Roll and Siam Roll which were very fresh and well prepared. Highly recommended.

I was SOO excited when I read the "coming soon" signs on the windows at this place, since it was going to be the closest Thai/Sushi place to my house... About a 2 minute drive. What a disappointment. I actually feel a little bit crushed, since I will have to continue driving to Kampai for all my sushi/thai needs (not that it's not worth it, but I wanted something right next door!). I was actually in the area because I was craving Panda Express for some reason, and I saw that Sea Siam Connection had finally opened. My little heart jumped for joy, and I walked inside to order some takeout. I chose standard Thai food- Pad Thai and Papaya Salad- to be on the safe side. I waited for 15 minutes, got my food, and drove home. I sat down to eat, and it was definitely NOT love at first bite. It's not that the food was disgusting...but it may have been, quite possibly, the most mediocre thai food I have ever tasted in my life. The pad thai had too much oil and not enough of a sweet flavor to it, and the papaya salad had too much tomato and too little papaya. How sad. I had such high hopes for this place. PS. They charge you for the steamed rice that other places usually give you for free with your main dish. I can't speak for their sushi... maybe it's good. But if their thai food is any indication, I doubt it.

This is the go to place if you're in Kendall and want quality Pad Thai. The ginger beef is also great. I've had several dishes here and not once have I been let down. It's rarely full and there is plenty of parking. Great experience overall.

First time here, drove by it many times we decided to give it a try. This places has Thai, Japanese & Vietnamese; not really a choice of mine I am not fond of a place that have a wide variety of cuisines. But oh well, now we know. We ordered a Papaya Salad it was very good, great flavor, papaya, carrots julienned and toasted peanuts. Main dishes were Ka-Nom-Gen and Pho Tai (traditional Pho). The Ka-Nom-Gen is a green curry with chicken coconut and eggplant served with noodles - the flavor was great although it taste better with white rice. The Pho was ok, I have tried better ones. Staff is friendly, the place is pretty new about four months open. Decor is modern and nice, furniture is nice - I like the booths, although the brick walls make me feel I am in a pizzeria!

Amazing sushi at amazing prices, what else can one ask for? The setup of the entire restaurant is great and the service is superb. I come here whenever the family is craving some sushi.

Fab-u-freaking-lous!! Every time I go, I start with sushi roll that the waiter recommends and he/she has never steered me wrong! Then, we always order the pad thai with chicken or shrimp and can't ever seem to try anything else--it's that good!! We follow up the deliciousness with the thai donuts, and their fluffy scrumptiousness is pretty much the ending to the perfect meal. I most DEFINITELY recommend Sea Siam Connection--your taste buds will thank you!!

YO, IT'S ALL ABOUT DAT CURRY. MMHHHMMM. I don't come here nearly as often as I'd like, but every time I do, it's so pleasant. The staff is really nice. Kind of staff you wanna be leaving a 25% tip for. Very friendly. BUT THE FOOD DOE. I've tried quite a few of their plates. Their Pad Thai is A +. I like the way they cook their beef, chicken, pork AND tofu. They're sushi is good. Good stuff, but it's all. About. Dat CURRY. Dat's some good curry, yo! Only thing is, you'll smell a little curry-esque the rest of the day. But shiii--I ain't mad! Decent prices. Big portions. I'd probably be able to share the platters with someone else (if they weren't so damn delicious, that is.). Their lunch menu from 11am-3pm is well priced. You can get a great meal for around ten bucks, and it comes in the cutest little lunch container! LOVE IT. ^__^

This place is ok. I've had better sushi and Thai before. I ordered the dragon roll and red curry. The dragon roll lacked that 'yum' for me. I asked for the red curry to be not spicy at all, and it was still spicy. I also ordered chicken with it, and there were like only four pieces of chicken. I think this restaurant is over-rated, in my own personal opinion.

I came here about a day or two ago with my dad for lunch, as we were on our way to Costco. The place is nicely decorated, with weird (yet cool) hanging lights and the wall with awesome Buddha head statues. The place itself isn't that big. And we came around lunchtime during a weekday, so it was packed with people. I've been here once before, so I can say from experience that their pad thai is really good. The lunch combo for the Thai orders come with a side of fried rice and a spring roll (fried). Everything's nicely presented on the plate, and I can't complain because nothing fell short of being delicious. I ordered a sushi + sashimi + shrimp/veggie tempura combo (for about $13? I forgot) and mine came in a bento box-style layout with a salad with ginger dressing. It also comes with miso soup. There were 6 slices of sashimi (two each of tuna, salmon and whitefish) and three nigiri sushi, one of each fish. The tempura came with two shrimps, zucchini, sweet potato, broccoli and onion. Okay, taste-wise, the fish was really fresh. The sushi was good. Salad only had romaine lettuce and shredded carrots... no tomatoes or cucumber, but whatever. The tempura was good, though it was too oily for me (I say if you like tempura, go for it. I say this because I'm not the one who can intake a lot of fried foods without feeling bad in the stomach after... It was a silly move for me to order it with tempura, pretty much). I'd come again for sure, though I think I'd only come for lunch because I've looked over the regular menu and the items can get a little pricey.

I was near the Home Goods in the area when my boyfriend and I decided to stop in and get some food. When they first sat us our table was wobbly, so we asked to sit in a one sided booth type table that opened up. Our waitress was attentive and the food was great. We got the bagel roll and spicy tuna rolls (spicy mayo could have been a little more spicy). The Chicken Pad Thai was really good, and we have tried pad thai in a few places, I have to say this is probably going to be one of my new favorites. We also had the seaweed (wakame) salad which was fairly big and very fresh. I will definitely come back when in the area.

This place is really close to my house so one star just for that. The sushi rolls are always fresh, the thai iced tea is never too sweet, and the staff is always very polite. I eat here about once a week and usually get my food to go. I wish they didn't charge $.25 for each takeout container. As long as the tuna stays fresh and there is no charge for my side of spicy mayo I will be back!!

This restaurant reminds me of one that belongs in south beach or brickell. The modern design is really nice and clean. My favorite dish is Gang-panang with beef; Thai hot! It's made with sweet panang curry paste, bell pepper, coconut milk and lime leaf strips. The menu is extensive and offers from fresh sushi, Thai , and Vietnamese. The Thai donuts are awesome too. I recommend the lunch hour that includes soup, egg fried rice and a variety of dishes to choose from. The staff is nice, but the service always needs improvement. If the food wasn't so good, I would rate 3 stars.

I left here pretty disappointed. The only reason why I gave them 2 stars was because of the decor and friendly staff. We ordered a few sushi rolls, tuna tataki, spicy conch salad...and everything tasted so......NOT fresh =/

We tried this place out when it first opened and we are still frequent customers. The sushi is pretty good but the thai food is excellent. The pad thai is absolutely delicious and the egg fried rice is our favorite. We pick up to go a lot of the time but when we do dine in, the service is also great. This is a great place to try out..you won't be disappointed.

My mom & I decided to eat lunch before going shopping, I was very excited to have a nice sushi & Thai place close to my home. The decor & ambiance is pretty cool, the place looks very clean. Staff very friendly and attentive. I had a yellow curry with tofu that was too die for, my mom decided on another curry with potatoes & chicken, extra spicy and loved it. For dessert we ordered Thai donuts & they were excellent, nicely fried & crispy. Look forward to eating out with friends soon.

I really liked this place, I went for dinner so the prices are a little high... But I think it was definitely worth it. Sushi servings are pretty generous, more so than our other favorite place. This place is quite trendy and makes you feel like you drove all the way out to coral gables or the grove to eat instead of kendall. I definitely recommend.!.

The best word I can find to describe Sea Siam Connection is decent. Perhaps even "good" would work. The decor is very nice and cozy, appears clean, although I usually go for take-out. The food is...decent. I usually get the chicken pad thai which is tasty but a little greasy and frankly over-priced. I was not a huge fan of the sushi. I'll definitely eat here again when I get paid, it's the only decent thai place in the hood!

We're huge fans of the Dixie Highway location, and finally came to check out the new location. Nice, clean, not too-too-loud ambient music, very nice staff. I had the Bun Thit Nuong, a cold pork-vermicelli salad that was fresh, tart and tasty, although there could have been a larger serving of the pork for the cost of the dish. The Siam Rolls were as usual excellent, and equivalent to Dixie Highway. We'll definitely be back; but I agree with Daniel G., that the original is more inviting. Time will tell if the menu stands up to Dixie Highway, next time, more Maki to try out...

I grew up in Country Walk and always hated the area. I always felt like it took at least 40 minutes to get anywhere other than the zoo, a drug store, or a fast food joint. I tried for years to flee this sad, little region of west Kendall, and now with Sea Siam Connection, I'm finding a reason to go back home. Damn that Chinese finger cuff of a neighborhood! But, Sea Siam Connection is worth a trip to this pop-up suburb which used to be nothing but marshlands, natural lakes, and pretty much a straight-up extension of the Everglades and the Redlands (the paved plot that Sea Siam stands on was actually an old strawberry field that was there for at least 25 years). When you first walk in you're ambushed by orchids backed by a long, hanging, refined chain-link curtain that separates the hostess stand from the dining area. The place is very clean and modern looking (which is refreshing if you've ever been to their Sunnyland location) with warm, burnt, orangey tones and authentic Thai adornments. There's fresh orchids at every table as well. Our server, a Thai girl by the name of Shampoo (yeah, seriously) was very friendly and gave us great service. She even drew a little butterfly out of "special house sauce" on my boyfriend's plate of sushi and then went on this whole long tangent about how she loves tequila and doesn't understand why everyone at Space (she pronounced is "Speck") kept on trying to pet her (we tried to explain what ecstasy was, but I think it went over her head). The food was pretty tasty as well. I have a weak spot for duck and when I crave it, I really crave it, so I got the Ped Nam Dang (crispy duck). It kind of reminded me of a similar dish, Roasted Duck Darling, at Bangkok Bangkok with the use of pineapple and presentation-wise, but this dish here was slightly smaller. But the duck here is fattier, and much more crispy (has some breading, I believe) than say the one at Bangkok, but Sea Siam certainly doesn't slack on the meat. They just uses the duck's natural fat and crispy skin to compliment the flavor of the meat and it's done well, not in a way where your picking stuff off the meat that you'd rather not put in your mouth. The boyfriend had the JB roll (standard, but solid and super fresh tasting) and the Red Rose roll which is kind of like a Dragon roll with raw salmon thrown on top....very, very good. I also tried the house Sauvignon Blanc, not too shabby, with a pretty appealing/fruity after taste. Prices are also pretty reasonable considering the quality of food and they also have Vietnamese offerings as well.

I'm really excited to have another Sushi option the the hood. The place is nice, trendy and hip in the burbs. I went with my sister for lunch and shared a KaniSu app, Kissing Roll, and Red Rose Roll. All great! We will be back soon, and are looking forward to it.

I was dying to try this place because of two reasons 1. I love sushi & 2. I am Thai and hold local Thai restaurants to a high standard when they consider their food "authentic". I have ordered once for delivery & once done the whole "eat in" experience. While I can't say their customer service is over the top, I also can't complain because they did try. I felt the waitress was just a little too pushy & didn't give me time to look at the menu The sushi rolls are a great size for the price. I ordered the Dragon roll - it was HUGE! They have some of the freshest sushi I've come across in Kendall. Previously, I ordered the PadThai & Thai donuts for delivery. I must say the food came FRESH and it was delicious. I had no issue with the authenticity of their ingredients. Almost as perfect as the PadThai at Bangkok, Bangkok. If I had to recommend a local Japanese/Thai restaurant in Kendall, this would be it. Unfortunately, I did not give 5 starts due to the fact that they broke my heart by not offering delivery anymore. That was a huge plus, being that NO other Japanese/Thai restaurant delivers around here. Well worth it!

We went yesterday to this brand new restaurant. I have to admit that the decoration was really nice with a modern/clean feel to it. I must admit that it was a little small but the food was great. Even though the Pad Thai was a little greasier than usual it had good flavor, the Coconut Shrimp was very good. The service was ok but could improve, will be back though for takeouts
