Googaly moogaly, this place is the bees gees! The service is WONDERFUL and the food is EXCELLENT. You really get great quality at a great price! The owners are very warm and kind and make you feel like you are part of the family with the nice ambiance and music. The cashier girl is always very friendly, altruistic and is always displaying a beautiful smile! Definitely at the top of the list food places if you are in the area

All of the sandwiches and soups here are delicious and fresh. The custom salad bar allows for you to go crazy and they charge salads at $.63 an oz which is a reasonable price. The decor is cute and welcoming and so are the owners.

Let me start of by saying that I love a build-your-own-salad bar! As soon as I noticed Salad Oz had opened downtown, I was excited to check it out. I work in Overtown on the edge of downtown and the dining options for lunch are even less than few and far between. Basically, for our building, it's our café downstairs, or we have to walk to the Flagler Courthouse area. Salad Oz is now the closest healthiest (& yummiest) option for lunch - Yay! Let me tell you Yelps, we were in desperate need of something tasty on this end of Downtown. I've been here more than a few times just to order the salad bar and a cup of soup. The soup is so yummy that you just can't resist it even on the hottest of Miami summer days. I usually go for a salad when I come here, just because of my overall love of a salad bar. The salad bar itself has lots of fresh ingredients and several salad dressings to choose from. A friend of mine commented that they didn't have a lot of meat for the salad bar, but that's not such a huge deal for me, since I'm usually wanting greens when craving a salad anyway, but thought I'd mention it just to make note of it. I've tried two of the pressed sammies (the Turkey and brie & the Machete) and both were pretty tasty. The Machete, however, can't be beat. It's filled prosciutto, salami, bacon, with tomato, provolone, & some spicy mayo - it's really really good. It highly suggest you this sammie immediately. Everything goes together perfectly. I'm really happy to see this great addition to our end of downtown!!

I happened upon this place looking for a salad. That idea changed once I read the sandwich menu!!! Turns out, this is an artisanal mom and pop shop run by a husband/wife team in the middle of downtown Miami. I tried the innovative Thanksgiving sandwich with preserves, apple slices bacon and APPLE BUTTER! Incredibly pleased by stumbling upon this little gem.

Great service, awesome decor, and delicious food! The minute you walk in, it completely feels like a different place, not from Miami-- more west coasty (pretty much the best part). You're then greeted by the owner Gina, who is super friendly and attentive when taking your order, as well as anyone else who assists you there. Definitely a place to come check out as soon as you can. My recommendations are the Machete and the Earl Grey tea.

I was downtown around lunchtime and had some time to kill between appointments, so I was happy to stumble upon Salad Oz! It fit the bill for fresh and fast (ish - more on that later). I got there right at noon and I was the only patron in the place. The guy behind the counter didn't greet me or ask if I had any questions. I perused the chalkboard menu, also noted that there were 2 soups of the day, PLUS a self serve salad bar. Now, Sweet Tomatoes is my favorite place in the world, so the bar is high for me for salad, but Salad Oz's looked good! I was tempted to go for a soup, but it was HOT out. Some of the sandwiches looked really good, but I was feeling a tad guilty about all the noms consumed the night before at the Elite event, so I went with the salad. I clocked in at just over 13 ounces, so it was a reasonable salad at $0.53 per ounce! Not sure why they don't just make it $0.5 or $0.55, but whatever. So, I had placed my container on the scale by the register and was waiting for either the sandwich lady or the other guy to check me out, when a HUGE crowd of people came in. Orders were taken, the sandwich lady started furiously slicing bread, and I was still waiting at the register, getting ever hungrier. That's when the guy asked if my order had been taken and when I said I had a salad, he said, OK, be with you in a minute... so I waited some more. I finally was able to pay, and I sat at a table there and ate. Total time was about 30 minutes, but the folks that came in after me were just getting their sandwiches as I was leaving. So, all in all the food was good and fresh, but not sure I would go there during the lunch rush if I were pressed for time. They seem to need more staff or a more efficient way to handle the ordering.

Very simply put....the food is delicious, the prices reasonable and they deliver to my job. Meetings are now pleasant because I am well fed. My favorite: #3: Turkey, brie and cranberries....yummy.

Hole in the wall place that definitely speaks for itself as soon as you walk in the door. Came in for lunch and had the turkey avocado wrap with a complimentary sweet tea. Food is pleasantly fresh and crisp! Ended up staying for four hours to do some work because I was in love with the atmosphere and there was free wifi! Definitely worth a stop by.

I love the atmosphere. Very clean and trendy. They are also playing Simon and Garfunkel which is a plus. The woman was very kind and helpful, she informed me about how to go about adding to my meal. I made my own salad and it was only 7 dollars! The salad is fresh and I put a lot on it. Definitely will come again, it's right outside of my school as well. Definitely come here if you want something delicious for lunch

I think this is the one of the only places in all of downtown, Midtown and Brickell with a salad bar. That thought is shocking that more healthy food isn't available in these areas! This place definitely fills a void for that. Really nice salad bar although not all proteins are self-serve. (chicken and turkey?). They put it on for you, but it's would be nice to do self-serve as that's how the rest of it is done. Whole Foods does it that way too. The serve good sandwiches too. They have a nice selection of teas and desserts. Service is very personable and friendly. I'd definitely come back. I like the fact that they're investing in downtown too. There are small gems like this popping up all over downtown.

Adorable intimate hidden gem off the beaten path in downtown - I would not have ever imagined a place like this in its location. Had lunch here today which was anescape from work. I had the soup and sandwich special. The broccoli and cheese soup was yummy. Order the Thanksgiving sandwich (turkey, Brie, green apple, etc) - don't forget to have it pressed. They also make fruit smoothies and were nice to give me a sample of the banana shake. Staff were super pleasant. Definitely found a quiet lunch retreat.

WOW! WOW! WOW! This place is amazing! I went for the first time yesterday and will definitely be back. I ordered the Francesca.....yum! The guava and the chicken breast with bacon, what is not to love about this sandwich. My husband had their special of the week: Pork Sandwich on Media Noche Bread......he wanted to order a second one to go! Since it was our first time there we were given complimentary fresh ice-tea.....so good and then we sampled the soups. They were so amazingly delicious that we ordered 2 cups to go so we can have for dinner. (Cactus Chili....say what?! and the Tomato Tortelini....OMG)

Been here few times already.. Sandwiches are great.. Flavors are awesome.. Haven't tried the salad bar..

All the good things about this place are so true. Downtown needs this. The sandwiches are creative, fresh, and delicious. It supports a lot of local businesses. The Franciscan sandwich is so good it's not even fair. I tried two of the soups; the butternut squash and the tomato tortellini. Seriously, do yourself a favor and try it. In other words, I'm obsessed.

The soups and sandwiches here are amazing. They're not your typical ham and cheese fare. One of my favorites for example, is the Francisca which has sliced chicken breast, guava, bacon & gouda in a panini. Another favorite, with a kick, is the Machete: prosciutto, salami, bacon with tomato, provolone & spicy mayo. My favorite soup thus far has been the lobster bisque. If you're unsure if you'll like the soups (which change daily), they'll let you sample them. Their customer service is top notch and they're always friendly and looking out for their customers' satisfaction. As others have mentioned in their reviews, they offered me an iced tea for free when I mentioned it was my first visit. If you're in the Downtown Miami area, Salad Oz is definitely worth a visit.

Solid Salad! I was excited to have the chance to visit Salad Oz on a recent day-long training which took place downtown. We were on our own for lunch, so I chose to visit Salad Oz for a quick fix of greens and goodies. I appreciated a lot about the salad bar and its options. Most vegetables were relatively fresh, even the hard-to-keep-beautiful slices of avocado. Which, by the way, can we talk some more about? Hello, gorgeous! Avocado is the world's most perfect food. It is delicious, nutritious, cruelty-free, and full of fun! Avo is what's up, and the fact that Salad Oz offers it sliced on its salad bar in all its creamy glory makes me very happy. In addition to the fruit-love of my life, the salad bar offers a plethora of protein options for veg-heads like me (think chickpeas, black beans, hard-boiled eggs, and quinoa). I enjoyed the inclusion of slices of lemon on the counter as that's the only dressing I really need on an amped up salad like the ones I make. Of course, there were also many other options for vegetables, fruits, nuts, dressings, and proteins (yay sun-dried tomatoes!). You could make a different salad every day for a month! As others have mentioned, the sandwiches are also tempting. If I get a chance to return, I *might* try one. But not if I catch a glimpse of that avo first, I'm afraid... Price-wise, Salad Oz came out much cheaper than my salad bar selection from Whole Foods normally does. Bottom Line: With its healthy choices and friendly prices, Salad Oz is a great option for lunch in the downtown area.

Places like Salad Oz are what makes Downtown Miami a place to watch. I wish that they were open later than they are but that's par for the course. Not only does it probably make sense for a salad/soup/sandwich spot to close before dinner, later night traffic Downtown (rightly or wrongly) dries up once the sun goes down. I can't fault the business owners for maximizing their dollar. So, if you're in the area for breakfast and/or lunch, you should stop in. First off, the decor is bright, airy and... happy. Yep, happy. You just feel good once you walk in. Whoever came up with the color/design scheme, kudos. You matched the vibe with the food perfectly. Once you stop smiling and start to realize that you're staring aimlessly at the menu, engage the employees. Owners and employees alike were engaging, helpful and flat-out nice. Again, wow! So, by this time, you're in a great mood and ready to spend money (ooh, NOW I get it) so start eating. There's a lot to choose from and it's a little nuts that I came to a place named Salad Oz and didn't get a salad... but there's a good reason for that: The #3. The #3 sandwich comes on your choice of bread and is a delightful (totally appropriate word) combo of turkey, brie, cranberries (ripe, juicy ones), arugula, and honey mustard. Made fresh to order and served with fancy potato chips, this is just the kind of lunch you want on a Friday... or any day. Plus, after eating so cleanly... you can dive in to the darker side of Salad Oz. Their baked goods are fantastic. I was talked in to (believe me, it was a hard sell) an oversized chocolate chip cookie, pumpkin spice mini-bundt cake (seasonal) and a cup of the Hialeah blend signature dark roast. Despite the strength of the coffee, I came home and passed out. That's a good lunch. I look forward to doing it again.

This is a lovely, hidden gem in downtown Miami. Although this place is not centrally located in downtown, it is definitely worth the extra walk. I found this place through Yelp, of course, and after reading the reviews I couldn't wait to try this place out. Their soups are great and the sandwiches are delicious as well. They also have a salad bar for those who are interested. The best part is that the prices are very reasonable. I have no complaints about the service. Everyone, from the person who placed our order to the person who rang up our food, were all very nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place.

If you haven't tried this place... You should! Don't let the name fool you. Yes they have a self serve salad bar, but it's there in house sliced and cut sandwiches that make it great. My wife enjoyed a specialty sandwich called Machete it was a hot sandwich with prosciutto salami bacon tomato provolone and spicy mayo. Very tasty! I enjoyed their roast beef sandwich which had a twist topped with spinach and roasted red peppers. Also very good Finishing things off we enjoyed a Mamey shake and a little chocolate dessert. The inside very clean and comfortable restaurant. Definitely a new place we will return!

I like this place. They are very clean and have very friendly owners. The sandwiches are unique and the salad buffet is always fully stocked with a nice variety. The only complaint that I could have is they get super busy in the afternoon and the sandwich making process is a little slow but they always get it right when they make it and when you try to customize it.

A great local sandwich, soup, and salad place. When I visited for lunch it was busy, but the staff quickly made the orders and keep the line moving at almost breakneck speed. They have a wide selection of sandwich types, enough to suit almost any palette or appetite. The only drawback was the extremely limited seating area. I lucked up and scored a window seat to watch the street, but that was by pure luck. They'd go a long way to have additional seat upstairs or just a few tables outside. Overall a good place for lunch.

Been here twice now, while on jury duty. The salad bar had a nice variety, and very fresh ingredients. The next time I had a pesto chicken panini sandwich, which was great too. It came with spinach and roasted red peppers. The people are friendly, and the service good. I will definitely go back, and have recommended it to others.

I had been waiting for this place to open for a while and I was apprehensive since I was burnt by Oxy a few blocks away. They have definitely have my attention. First lets start by the attention to detail. The owners have definitely built a quiet "home away from home" atmosphere. I ordered the Machete and was pleasantly surprised. The portion was substantial for the price and the cold cuts were first rate. The owner offered me some ice tea on the house and bought the sandwich to my table. The sandwich was spicy and savory with a mayo that tickled the inside of my mouth with heat but not burn. I will definitely make my way across the menu. They also have a salad bar by the ounce and a selection of soups. Hopefully they will get around to cream of chicken.

I saw Salad Oz in my Yelp news feed a few days before I actually went, and a co-worker and I happened to be next door at a meeting, so we decided to stop in. What one should know above all is that the staff is extremely friendly, and they want to provide a wonderful product. We told the gentleman serving us that it was our first time, and he offered us free tea and baked goods so that we could sample the menu and "learn about the baked goods" of which the establishment was so proud. So, if you read this and look at the star rating, know that Salad Oz deserves a 5 for hospitality and engagement. Although I am a sucker for good service, I also believe that food is what matters at the end of the day, and I felt that the food was just average. I ordered the ThxGiving, which has Bree, turkey, apple, bacon, and jam. My sandwich was heavy on the jam, which slightly overpowered the other ingredients. I think that the ingredients could have been more balanced, but it could have just been the preparation of my sandwich. My co-worker decided against the carb-heavy sandwich and went with the salad bar. Like many places, the patron is charged by the ounce, so the price can add up quickly. Nevertheless, the salad bar has options overlooked by many places that cater to the same clientele, which I assume makes Salad Oz a small shrine for salad lovers. Now to desert. I decided to try the chum bun because I had seen pictures on Yelp. I was happy to see a peanut butter bun in the case, and I anxiously awaited my treat on my way back to the office. The bun ended up tasting like any regular cake with a peanut butter center; it satisfied my sweet tooth, but I would not say that it was a mind-blowing dessert experience. Then again, I am not a huge dessert person. Overall, I would go back, but I would try something else. Because the food was high-quality and the staff was nice, the new business deserves people's support, so try it.

I had been here a number of times when they first opened and it was always great, however, on my last visit, there were mostly empty containers in the salad bar section and most were just canned items, vegetables, like corn, olives, garbanzo beans, so I don't know why they wouldn't be refilling these more often but I was also disappointed that the items were mostly canned and not fresh. There were some containers that needed a thorough cleaning as well. The salad dressings were not labeled and when I asked if any were sugar free or fat free, the girl behind the counter said she didn't know. The salad was ok, but it seems like this place is not as good as it once was.

SaladOz is my favorite breakfast/lunch place in all of downtown. It's so affordable which must be attractive for the MDC and New World students. The atmosphere is warm and the service is great. What I absolutely love are their new smoothies! My fave items are the banana smoothie, the Thxgiving sandwich, and salad with boiled eggs(which I love). Also, if you have a sweet tooth, the chun buns are delish and the Cao chocolates are exotic and divine. What a nice little hidden gem.

Holy Francisca (the sandwich)! Whoever had the clever idea of adding guava to that chicken breast and cheese sandwich deserves to forever be hailed! What that guava did to that sandwich is like what Beyoncé does to JayZ! So deliciously pretty. This place is cool. Very quaint. Small space with cute art. Service speed does need to be faster but it's a fairly new place and they'll eventually get into the speed of things. One more thing: Avocado.

I stopped in thinking it was the old place that used to occupy space and was pleased it wasn't. This place is awesome. Super nice and clean, light years difference from the place that used to occupy this space. So there I was looking at the menu and was advised the quava, egg and bacon sandwich. Whaaaaat i thought ok i will give it a shot and to wash it down an iced black tea. It was nothing short of amazing. That quava and bacon is ridiculous. Everytime I go to the federal courthouse this will be my spot. If you are getting sentenced and need a last meal before being shipped off this place won't let you down.

The customer service is second to none. The owners are super friendly and down to earth. The menu choices are enough but not so much that you get overwhelmed. The choices also feel lighter and healthier than most other places but still hearty and filling. You have to try this spot. Definitely a keeper on my yummy places to revisit list.

Downtown hasn't had a cozy, welcoming spot like this one! I visit the west coast in California often and always find great places for really good food. In Miami these types of places are hard to find until I visited Salad Oz. Great sandwiches and treats plus free WiFi! There is no reason you shouldn't stop by!!!

GO HERE NOW! I promise you, you won't regret it. Its like your stepping into a cute little oasis from one of those unique shows on the cooking channel. Just what downtown needed! Support local products, teas, and bakers. EVERYTHING in their menu is delicious!!! Only wished they had more vegan and gluten free options and desserts. But its ok because their food is so good and refreshing. Not heavy or greasy like everything in the city surrounding it. The best part is their costumer service! The owners are extremely nice and the ambiance/energy makes you want to stay forever. The chocolate chip cookie&veggi wrap -must haves

BEST LUNCH SPOT! Chicken BBQ Melt is my favorite thing in the world. I go here frequently whenever I happen to be downtown. Literally, the best lunch spot around. Walking distance to the courthouses...and the food is AMAZING. You can tell it is quality products. The sandwiches are all so delicious--the sauce they put on them is out of this world. And on days when I want something more light--the salad bar is absolutely the best. Clean, trendy, and exactly what you're looking for when you have that lunch craving. Highly recommend others to come here!

Oz is 2 for 2. Went back again today (yes, twice in one week, don't judge me), and every. single. thing. was delicious. Today I tried the kale, parmesan, and sausage soup (ridiculously flavorful) and 1/2 a BBQ chicken panini (delish) and 1/2 a chun bun (not sure if I'm getting the name right here, but it at least rhymes with this:)... a moist, chocolately slice of heaven. I'm officially in love!

My office is down the street and we order from here all the time. Their food is delicious! My favorite sandwich is the Valedino and the Machete. Their cookies are also delicious. I recommend Salad Oz whenever eating in Downtown. Downtown Miami really needed a place like this.

Hidden gem in downtown! Stumbled upon this wonderful cafe after walking all over downtown and not finding decent food. The owners are very friendly and the decor is adorable. I'm sad I was not able to try the food (did have some jasmine tea. Yummy!) I will definitely have to come back soon to try their sandwiches and salads.
