My friend recommend this place and boy was she right on the money with this one!!! is a tiny place in Fontainebleau, but their food is amazing, specially the Pad-thai is out this world, also the honey chicken and they spring rolls are great, I took my kids once and the staff was extra friendly to them, the prices are very reasonable. great place to go for lunch but note they close from 3pm to 5pm when they open again for dinner. LOVE- LOVE this place

What a great surprise! We walked in to a completely (I mean zero people) empty restaurant. Based on reviews, we decided to give it a chance. We had pad thai and tofu with veggies. Everything was yummy, and our server was delightful. She was all smiles, and kept our water glasses refilled at all times.

Quick service, friendly staff, good food!

Who knew that there's a great thai restaurant in Sweetwater? I read the reviews and took my wife and 1 year old here Saturday night for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised and plan to go back. The restaurant is situated on the second floor of a strip mall that has a very strong Latin-flavor (spanish supermarket, cuban cafeteria, bakery, etc.) and since the restaurant is on the second floor, it's easy to not know its there. We were the first ones in the restaurant for dinner, which did worry my wife because that's usually a bad sign, especially on a Saturday night. We learned from the very friendly host that they are more of a lunch crowd but were very eager to seat us and to take care of us. They wanted to seat us at a table since my daughter needed a booster seat. My wife wasn't happy because they had an AC vent blasting right over us. So the manager said no problem, and just like that they shut the AC off. My wife got a Thai iced-tea and I went for some Thai beer I can't remember the name. Excellent, and excellent. My wife really liked her thai iced tea and the Thai beer I had I enjoyed. After we ordered, we noticed a few more couples and groups of people come in, so it started to have a nice busy feel of a restaurant on a Saturday night. For those who know Thai food, forgive me since I can't remember any of the Thai names of the food. We got some spring rolls to tie us over until the food arrived, which were crisp, tasty, and not oily. Very different than at most Chinese or Thai restaurants. My wife ordered ginger chicken with red peppers and other vegetables. The ginger was noticeable but not over powering, with the chicken having the right flavoring of the ginger and the sauces used. The red peppers were crisp and accented the dish well. I got the sauteed beef in coconut milk and chili with assorted vegetables. That was the highlight of the meal for the both of us. The sauce was hot but not blistering, spicy but not uneatable, thick and not soupy. The meat was fresh and really absorbed the flavor of the sauce. There was a part of me that wanted to order seconds of this dish since it was great. WHEN you go, get this dish. It is fantastic. As desert, we got the fried donuts. These were excellent. Again, crispy and sweet. I would have to say that I thought the restaurant was a little pricey, which is probably what prevents me from giving 5 stars. The food was awesome, and I definitely want to go back. This is a great restaurant that I hope will do well through this difficult recession. Wonderful staff, very friendly and good with kids.

You wouldn't believe it from the location, but this is the best Thai restaurant I've ever been to in Miami. It's in Sweetwater, a place not known for it's cuisine, but I swear this is the best Thai food I've tasted outside of Thailand. Yes, it's that good! It's on the second floor of a strip mall, next to a rental hall. The location is a bit off, but the service and food is amazing. It's worth the drive, I live in Broward and will actually go down to Miami to eat at this restaurant. Our local Thai can't even compare.

This restaurant is located on the second floor of a pretty nice strip mall (if you are actually walking in it and look away from the parking lot), it can easily be an oversight since most people don't think of taking the stairs. This restaurant is romantic, clean, nicely and authentically decorated Thai restaurant that actually serves great Thai cuisine. When I say nicely and authentically decorated, I mean that it is decorated nicely to reflect a Thai look without being trendy, fake or superficial. But that's what makes a great restaurant a great place for a romantic evening - it's quietness and subtleness. Service was good. They serve rice on your plates from a bowl. The food is authentic and flavorful. The meal quite plentiful and very affordable. The duck (both royal thai, sweet & sour) were excellent and so was the pad thai and V-5 in the menu (i don't recall what the name of this dish was). The thai style fried rice was also great. Many things on the menu is less than $10, and about half or more of the menu is less than $15, with plenty of dishes to choose from. But be careful! They're closed between 2:30 and 5, giving the kitchen ample time to prepare to cook fresh food for dinner. Don't come to the restaurant during its off hours or you'll be waiting outside! But if you accidentally do, just walk around the strip mall and remember to tell yourself that this kind of Thai restaurant is not too common and the food is definitely good enough for you to appreciate this restaurant in western Miami.

I LOVE this place! My girls and I would often come here when craving thai food. I LOVE the pad thai here. It's one of the best I've ever tried. I like the level of spiciness you can achieve to the pad thai. The atmosphere is quaint and nice. It's EXTREMELY busy at lunch time but it's definitely worth it. The thai ice tea and thai doughnuts are pretty yummy as well. The prices are reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. Eating off all of my food here has never occurred. I could never stop coming to this place.
(5)Violeta D.
I am from L.A. but the best Thai food is here in Miami Fl, Royal Thai, Eat there it`s the best , MY Favorite are The red and green curry`s, The curry fish, Pad thai , and all the desserts. Also the curry puffs, pretty much everything on the menu. You can`t go wrong. They also have excellent service at this place. I give it all the Stars.
(5)Ana M.
Excellent. Truly surprised at how good everything tasted. Amazing!
(5)Phil S.
Fair price, huge lunch portions and great taste. What else can you ask for?!
(5)Sunil S.
very good food here. authentic. reasonably priced.

Pleasantly surprised! I live in Orlando, and more specifically, in downtown which boast some of the best Thai I have ever had. To say this place was comparable says a lot. Although the decor and furnishings are in need of a serious update, the quality of food and service was stellar. We had two appetizers and 3 entrees, which included the table's favorite, massaman curry. The fried rice was our least favorite, but then again, not a dish typically popular at Thai restaurants. I highly recommend this place and will return on another visit to Miami.

This place is a hidden gem. You'd never expect to find authentic Thai food located on the second floor of a strip mall, but there it was. It's kinda nice how unassuming the restaurant is, because it wasn't too busy and my mom and I were able to get seated right away, plus it allowed our server to be extra attentive. My mom and I went to celebrate her birthday. As our first course we ordered the crab rangoons which were freshly made. How do I know? You could actually see the chunks of crab inside, not like some other restaurants that serve you some sort of blend with false promises that it is crab. Next we ordered the combo fried rice which included pork, chicken, steak, shrimp & pineapple. The rice was very good, although they skimped out on the pineapple. Steak in the fried rice was a nice touch though since traditionally that's not included. Overall very yummy and quite the generous portion We also ordered the curry noodles with chicken & vegetables (veggies were an extra charge). I went for the noodles because I really wanted a curry dish but I didn't want the extra rice since we were already getting the fried rice. The noodles were a pleasant surprise! Very yummy, almost angle hair in thickness. There were also a bunch of different curry flavors available should you order it with rice, but for the noodle options you can only do red or green. Our server explained that green is sweeter yet spicier, whereas the red curry is more savory but not as spicy. I opted for red curry with spice level #2 medium (they have a heat chart) and boy was #2 spicy! Tolerable, but for someone who likes and barely notices how spicy food can be, I felt the heat on this one! Last but not least we ordered their Thai donuts. Our server served them with a lit candle in celebration of my mom's bday. She even sang her happy birthday and said that the donuts were complimentary due to the occasion. It was such a sweet touch to our already great and delicious experience. We'll definitely be coming back!

Reasonably priced little spot and great portions. I come here bc this is the closet thai place near my casa in Doral. However I have def had way better curry and pad thai. Today I tried their curry puffs as recommended by many yelpers. I was way disappointed def not to my liking a lot of breading and a lot of mushy stuff which I could not make out the taste or what I was eating..... Also no real curry flavor. I was a little disappointed by this visit as I was really looking forward to some good curry. I'll simply have to make the drive next time to Thai House or Origin which is far superior. (I hate to recommend other places while reviewing a restaurant but in this case it's kind of a must)

If there's one thing I can say about Netflix; it has definitely opened my eyes to new forms of entertainment I wouldn't usually be exposed such as Norwegian Zombie films like Dead Snow and nature documentaries like Leave It To Beavers. Unfortunately they also stream worthless filth like Zombeavers...seemingly a blend of the two. Royal Thai restaurant follows in the same vein. It's a hodge podge of Thai, Japanese and Cantonese cuisine that should've stayed separate. I get it the area demands that they get creative to survive. It's in Fountainblue on the second floor of a dilapidated plaza next to Ballroom that you might mistake for a haunted house. I ordered take-out and arrived to a completely empty establishment with an enthusiastic cook and server eager to please. Unfortunately only one did. I've seen Natassia M. down tripe tacos and trigger fish jerky yet she found the their version of Pad Thai inedible. I gave her a it's-pad-thai-it-can't-be-that-bad look which I quickly retracted once I'd had a forkful. I'm OK with fusion and preserving regional variations, but this tasted like someone drooped a lemonade on it. Cloyingly sweet, citricly sour and soggy and therefore not like any pad thai I've ever had. I exclaimed with joy whenever I found a piece of the advertised chicken, like a 49er panning for gold nuggets. They must've been saving all their poultry for the Fried Chicken Wonton which were crispy, fresh and meaty. I'd order this again minus the funky sweet n' sour pineapple sauce that actually tastes a lot like the Pad Thai. One out of two ain't bad, but I'd think twice before ordering from this Sharknado of Siamese cooking.
(3)Frank E.
It was good. It was not great. The place is hard to find. Its on the second floor of a strip mall. When I went there was no one else inside. I think they do lots of takeout because as I ate there was a steady stream of people stopping in to grab their food. I ordered the Massaman Curry with tofu. It was good, I ordered it spicy. It wasn't that spicy so I added some hot pepper sauce to amp it up a bit. I rounded it off with a Thai Iced Coffee that was sweet and creamy and delicious. The prices were comparable with other Thai restaurants. The service was also present and friendly. Royal Thai is a nice neighborhood restaurant to come to for dinner. In my opinion Bangkok City is still tops for Thai in Miami though.
(3)Luis Pablo A.
Pad thai is fantastic. attention is good and dishes really taste as home made. Service is good but sometimes they are understaffed.
(4)Dewey C.
This was a stab in the dark. I had been at the Glenn Curtiss Mansion and was hankering for Thai so this was the closest one. It's not bad for sure and the help does a good job and are pleasant enough and you can see they are working hard to make a buck, but it's on the second floor of a strip mall (with elevator) and has a television blinking away and the decor is non-descript, BUT they do deliver a simple menu with the basic and it's quite inexpensive. Their duck is small, but not too fatty and sweet. Their version of Thom Kha (lemongrass-coconut milk) soup is good and the Pad Woon See is ok without being great. They need to work on the soft shell crab, too little, too greasy and too tasteless. The same goes for the chicken wings. I will stop back again and try other items if I am ever in this part of town.
(2)Lissy L.
delicious! Ordered Penang Thai chicken with brown rice. Warning! Mild= spicy! It's pricey tho. It was a take out order. Next time we are eating in. 3 stars because of the price. And what's included.
(3)Julie M.
I usually eat here once every 10 days or so because of the wonton soup, which has a delicate broth and very, very fresh veggies and lean chicken, plus the amazing curry puffs. However, today for the first time I tried the Cashew Chicken and was blown away! Perfectly delicious!!! Amazing. Yum.
(5)Julian V.
I started coming to this restaurant a couple of months ago and ever since then I come here atheist once a week for lunch. The food is great and affordable but best of all is the service the provide. Everyone is very friendly and extremely attentive. My glass never runs out of water and the food always tastes great. I personally love they're red chicken curry but you truly can't go wrong with what you order here. The restaurant is a bit hard to find as its tucked away on the 2nd floor of a no name shopping center, but believe me it's worth the trek.
(5)Rozanne D.
It's my 3rd time here and the food has been mediocre. It's missing the flavor and punch that I'm looking for in Thai food. I might give it one more try :)
(2)Tina V.
Meh... it just was not my cup of tea.... Having to dined at many thai restaurants in California and finding my newly favorite ATK in Miami, this place really lacks in favor and quality. The restaurant seemed like an authentic mom and pop shop with no frills so it was promising but failed for the most part. Tom yum goong (1/5) cloudy old soup that tasted like its been there for days with overcooked shrimp. Favor was severely salty and bland. Curry meat puff (2/5) it was ok. Really bland but crispy so ill give a little credit for that. Tiger tear salad (0/5) completely gross! The salad was soggy with old lettuce drown in dressing. I asked for medium spicy and it was super mild. Shrimp and chicken pad thai (1/5) it was overly sweet with too much vinegar taste. overall I wouldnt come back. The service was attentive so I did not have a problem as mention by previous reviewers but thats it. ::update:: I did have a togo order of fried rice for my boyfriend after our lunch experience. It was ordered before we tried all the food and i did not want to be rude to cancel plus how can you screw up fried rice. Well...now this is where it gets really bad..... Royal Thai house special fried rice with pork, chicken, and shrimp (0/5) The rice was burnt and the fried rice was the worst we ever had. Everything was overcooked and the shrimp is only one tiny overcooked shrimp. Very bland... my baby sister can do better for $10.
(1)Andrea P.
I love the dinner special that they have from 5-7 chicken curry is my favorite one, the small cup of chicken soup is so yummy and the hot tea!!! I like everything from this place is quite and peacefully I like the feeling around here!!
(5)Jordan L.
I work down the street and I was looking for a great Thai restaurant that makes some good Thai. Royal Thai delivered that by having a great lunch special and having some delicious Thai!
(4)Andi T.
I love this restaurant. It's kind of old-school Asian. When I went for the first time, the decor wasn't too impressive to me but what they lacked in decor they made up for in cuisine. Since I'm a creature of habit, I usually order between the same several dishes but my favorite would have to be the Curry Puff on the appetizer menu. (try them! They're good and surprisingly filling. They remind me of samosas.) Everything I've tasted from this restaurant has been delicious. I'm so glad a coworker introduced me to this restaurant. If you love Thai food, check this place out.
(4)Hong L.
A great stop before or after the Everglades. This a very big restaurant and it was quite slow during lunch. We ordered three lunch dishes and a soup and found ourselves so full. The food is more on the sweeter side but I actually like it that way! The fried rice with chicken which was delicious. I found myself piling heaps of fried rice and topping it was the tofu vegetable sauté . This place got the approval from my friend and her m who are thai! Price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get .
(4)Keith P.
Thanks to Yelp I was able to find out about Royal Thai Restaurant, and yes, I agree with all the reviews! The food here is delicious, and it surpassed my expectations. Unlike a lot of Thai restaurants I have visited, they serve Thai beer. This is a total blessing! If you like Thai beer, try a bottle of Chang Beer or Sapporo. Both beers are light and refreshing. However, I feel that Chang Beer trumps Sapporo any day. The food here is delicious as well, but what makes this place special is the humongous portions. You can get a lot of dishes at the $10 range, but the amount of food you get here is way more than $10 worth and double what you get at any Thai restaurant. Try the pad thai--it is delicious, savory, and is well-balanced with different ingredients. Try the honey chicken--totally crispy! At Royal Thai Restaurant, I totally feel at home. If you come here, do not expect glitz and glamour because it is ultimately a mom and pop shop--a mom and pop shop that serves the best Thai food in the area!
(5)Taylor D.
I am from MN and I had to find a local place to dine...I wanted to try an Asian place and came across this through Yelp and found great reviews. However, I don't agree with many of them. I gave it one star for good service and and another star for their awesome Thai ice tea. I also order Chicken Pad Thai but that was way way too sweet. I felt like I was eating sweet noodles...I don't know what it was but I could only take a couple bites and felt sick after. I might give another try to see if it was just what I ordered :/
(2)Kate O.
This restaurant is like second home. Best ginger fish fillet and pad thai in Miami so far in half decade. Ever since the new management has taken over the overall experience has improved a lot. We highly recommend this place. For a peaceful dinner.
(5)Michael G.
This is one of the best if not the best Thai food right now in Miami. I've been working in this area for 5 years now and my coworkers introduced me to this place early on. It's been nothing short of great everytime i have gone and its atleast once a month. It's a small mom and pop place and its nothing fancy inside but the food they pump out is amazing. This is found in a shady at best looking shopping center on the second floor but please don't let this scare you away. YOU MUST TRY IT IF YOU ARE A FAN OF THAI FOOD. I tend to go for the same stuff when i come so i havent tried a lot of the stuff but my coworkers have tried all kinds of different dishes and they always give it 5 stars. The portions are great, and the food always taste fresh and home cooked. I imagine a thai grandmother cooking up a storm behind the scenes with fresh ingredients and love because that comes out in the food. Some favorites: Tom Ka Gai soup - Delicious and rich in flavor. They pack it with chicken and mushrooms and i love it spicy. I can handle spice and i go with 3 out of 5 stars. I'm not sure how anyone gets anywhere close to 5, if you can handle spice i say 3 is perfect 4 if you want a volcano incident in a few hours. Pad Thai - This is simply the best Pad Thai i have ever had, and let me tell you i have had a lot of Pad Thai since eating Thai food at an early age. Trust me its worth just coming here for the huge portion of chicken and shrimp pad thai. Again i do the 3 starts spicy and its just perfect. Honey Chicken and Beef and Broccoli are also great choices. Thai Donuts - Always a winner. All in all this place is a gem. If you like Thai cuisine it is a must and if for whatever reason you had a bad experience please give it another try, 5 years and counting and I have nothing but good things to say. ENJOY!
(5)Karem M.
Great service and excellent food!!! Honestly the best Pad Thai and Thai tea I've ever had. I recommend 100%
(5)Lily K.
It's a cute cozy hidden place :) Their pad Thai is amazing! We usually get it without eggs, with extra sauce and it's delicious.Their soups are always good. Try their red curry, you won't regret. The staff is very friendly and overall it's a pleasant place to eat a simple lunch/dinner. Try their Thai tea! It's addicting
(5)Michelle H.
I've been coming here with my family for ten years. My favorite food is the fish filet with volcano sauce. It comes on a plate with fire underneath. The vegetable fried rice is so fresh too. Mmmm. OMG and the Thai iced tea is amazing. Also, the waitresses are really sweet. They always remember what my dad orders. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
(5)Jose T.
The food is amazing! I've been coming here for over ten years. It's like a hidden gem. Everything from the pad Thai to the Tom ka gai soup to the fish fillets. Great lunch specials.
(5)David A.
Amazing food. Long time visiting and enjoying this place. Real thai flavors and really hot dishes.
(5)Stephanie F.
I found Royal Thai on Yelp and after reading the reviews I decided to give them a try. Especially being that it is right down the street from my house. I am so glad that I did. This is hands down one of the best Thai places I have been too. They are so courteous and are always smiling. They make the food fresh, fast, and the portions are so big. The pad Thai is just absolutely delicious and you can't go wrong with coconut curry soup. Amazeballs!! I come and pick up food here at least once a week for my family. Even my picky 3 year old loves the food. That should tell you everything right there. Lol
(5)Allison R.
I'm visiting the area for business and turned to Yelp for dinner take-out suggestions. After reading all the good reviews I decided to check this place out. When I placed my order they said it would 15-20 minutes. When I got there 30 minutes later my food wasn't ready and so I ended up waiting another 10 min or so at the restaurant. An inconvenience, but a relatively minor one and at least they had a place for me to sit while waiting. The staff seemed friendly as well. I ordered the wonton soup, Thai salad, and pad see ew. I thought the wonton soup overall was good. I enjoyed the broth, but found the pieces of chicken and bean sprouts unusual. The Thai salad was decent: basic iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, and a nice peanut sauce. The pad see ew (of which I order all the time at Thai restaurants) was the most disappointing. I found the dish to be dry and lacking in flavor. While in general my meal was ok, I'm not sure I would order the same menu items if I were to come here again.
(3)dominique f.
We love Royal Thai! Thai coffee is delicious and their curries are fantastic. Our favorite part about Royal Thai are the owners and folks that work there. They are great! My 4 year old loves going there because of them.
(5)Julie H.
Eh, can definitely pass. Really not authentic...lacking flavor. We ordered 2 appetizers and 3 dishes, and all was not that great. With the exception of the spring rolls, and Thai doughnuts! The basil dish lacked basil!
(2)Ana M.
New owners but the same chef. Decent food at reasonable prices. Pleasant ambiance. Could use more air conditioning. Great service.
(3)Jose S.
It's no a fancy place but it's very clean. The Pad Thai was exelent and they serve very fast. The lady who receive you was very nice but the sr who take the order not
(4)Richard L.
The food is absolutely amazing and tastes very authentic at a very affordable price, and the hostess is an absolute joy to talk to. I highly recommend checking this place out for some good Thai food.
(5)Julien A.
Great Thai restaurant, they have the best pad Thai in town. Their drunken noodles with beef is also amazing
(5)Jonathan S.
I've had a tough time deciding which restaurant I should review first... as a newly anointed member of the Elite squad! Please, hold your applause! Before I continue, I'd like to thank Haronyd M. for showing me the ropes and, of course, Johnny T. for making it happen! Transition statement. ;) Royal Thai Restaurant is pretty much it for me as far as Thai food is concerned. I've been coming here since my wife introduced me to it in 2006 and although plenty has changed through the years, this restaurant consistently makes every visit worthwhile. The first thing that lures me in is how nicely decorated and clean this restaurant is. Judging by the rest of the plaza it's in, you'd assume it would be terrible but it's not at all. The staff is exceptional at making us feel welcome and they already know what our go-to dishes are. I usually have the fried squid app followed by their delicious Masaman curry with chicken. The portion is very filling and includes white rice or veggie fried rice for an extra charge. I've also enjoyed the Volcano chicken, and like many other reviews mention, the awesome chicken and shrimp Pad Thai. You can choose your level of spiciness from 1 star (not spicy) to 5 stars (why are you doing this to your stomach?!) I like 3 stars (spicy.) It provides the necessary kick but isn't overbearing. Pair your meal with a Singha, the Thai beer of choice and you can't go wrong. As far as the sushi goes, I've never tried it. Now that I think about it, I don't recall when they started offering it. I like the Thai food so much that I don't think I ever will. 5 stars without a question.
(5)Cecilia B.
This is a great place for thai food.. it's a little hole in the wall but definetly great! The volcano chicken from royal thai is my favorite.. I've been to plenty other thai restaurants and I always find myself missing the volcano chicken from this place lol
(5)Katerina S.
This is a great restaurant to go for fast, fresh, and delicious thai food on your lunch hour if you work in the area. The cashew chicken dish is my favorite. The rice it comes with also has some egg mixed into it, which is very good. The prices are fair as well!
(4)Tess O.
My boyfriend and I are so happy to have found this gem! I ordered the chicken Pad Thai and he ordered the volcano chicken. Both were excellent. Portions are huge too! Highly recommend.
(5)Eric S.
Excellent Tom Kha Gai. The best Panang Curry I've ever had and very very good Pad Thai. It comes with chicken & shrimp. Service was great. My water never got below half full. If you want real authentic Thai, this is the place. We will return.
(5)Lincoln M.
Found this place because of yelp, what can I say it's tasty and quick. I've been here twice in one week around 8 pm there's not many people here but don't let that be a deciding factor with regards to the food .... It excellent and the prices are not a wallet killer
(4)Michelle S.
Second time here and it is definitely a great Thai find. The Ginger chicken was delicious. So is the cashew beef. The staff is nice and attentive. A little pricey for location and ambiance but I'm willing to pay for the quality of the food.
(4)Camille F.
The food here is amazing, especially when it comes down to the vegetarian options, as a fellow vegetarian the spices are to die for. Mouth watering food trust me on that. The customer care, and service is just as great as the food the waiters are polite and kind, and always there when you need them.
(5)Heydy S.
The food is pretty good, but service is slow and its a bit overpriced for what you get really
(4)Mary M.
This restaurant is like second home. Best ginger fish fillet and pad thai in Miami so far in half decade. Ever since the new management has taken over the overall experience has improved a lot. We highly recommend this place. For a peaceful dinner.
(5)Glenda C.
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants. The food is delicious. If you like the taste of homemade authentic food, you will love this place. My favorite is their pad thai and their cashew chicken. Their vegetable fried rice is delicious. The soup from their lunch special is the best. Their dinner specials are good too, they bring fried wonton, shrimp rolls an crispy noodles and they are delicious! They only have the specials during a certain time, which I don't remember. The place is in an old shopping center, but this is one of those places that has great food, and you don't need the atmosphere to make your experience great.
(5)Jorge M.
I use to go here alot in 2000-2001 but i went recently and was not impressed at all. It was empty inside when we got there which was not a shocker. Service was ok but it could have been much better. Started off with some Tiger Tear Salad which was Blahhhhhhhhhh. Over seasoned and to much cilantro for my taste. We also tried a Shrimp Tempura Roll from the sushi bar and it was Blahhhhhh. The shrimp tasted like it was sitting around for awhile and didn't have to much flavor to it.Then i got the Pad Thai. I remembered the Pad Thai from back then I loved it but the one I got was Blahhhh as well. The noodles were greasy and shrimp tasted fishy. The best thing I got that night was the Thai dough nuts. Will go again in a later date to try again.
(2)Alexis T.
Best pad Thai I have had in Miami. Great for lunch.
(5)Ikam A.
Love this place. Fresh herbs and spices, great service, quaint decor. You can't go wrong. The seafood pad thai was great, and so was the garlic beef and the mixed vegetable beef. I haven't been here since 2001 before last night, and I am glad to see it has maintained its quality, if not improved. I think the decor was nicer now too. I used to always go there for lunch when I was a student, so maybe it was the lighting-- this was my first time during dinner, but it was great. I went with my husband and his kids to celebrate my stepson's birthday, and everyone was pleasantly pleased. Great meal. Definitely will revisit.
(5)Mandy G.
If you can find this restaurant tucked away in the upstairs of a plaza, I think you will find that you enjoy the quaint atmosphere. The staff is very accommodating and welcoming. I wasn't a huge fan of what I ordered. I had a tofu bowl with vegetables. The tofu had the right consistency, but lacked flavor. The vegetables were overcooked making it difficult for me to enjoy them. I didn't finish my meal and that never happens. My coworker ordered the sushi and she said it was delicious. I would be willing to go back to try some.

First time here but a really strong showing. The red curry lunch special was great and the 3 star spicy was just the right level for me. Like others have said the water is always full. Only downside was that the lunch special only came with a small soup compared to some other places that add a spring roll or Thai salad. Coming back next week for the Pad Thai!

Tried this place based on all the positive reviews. Liked the ambiance, it's a small mom & pop place tucked away on the 2nd floor of a no-name strip mall. Their service was really good, they would keep filling our water every few minutes. However, the food was just ok. I tried the Pad Thai, and it was cloyingly SWEET!!! Yuck. Haven't had sweet Pad Thai anywhere before. Not sure why others rated it so highly, I have definitely had better. Also tried their veg fried rice and was underwhelmed. Btw, I found it strange that they included a 15% tip to our tab for two. I would've prolly given a bigger tip, but whatever... So 3 stars for the food, an extra star just for their great service.

Not impressed with the infamous Pad Thai here, it was meh, bland not enough seasoning... A little bit more seafood would be nice, the service wasn't the best I had to wait 10 minutes until somebody asked me what I needed plus the order took forever... I'll be back to try the curries, hoping some of these reviews make sense to me.

Friendly service, check. We went on a Saturday night and it was empty. Not only empty, but it was uncomfortably quiet. The food was good. Not mind-blowing or anything. I had high expectations of the Pad Thai and was disappointed. Weird taste and a bit diluted. Sushi rolls and Thai soups were very good. Being equidistant to another Thai restaurant I really like, I probably won't be returning.

Came here for a late lunch (1:30ish) and had a great time. The food was excellent and full of flavor. I ordered the Basil sauce with beef and my girlfriend had the sweet and sour chicken. Both we're delicious. My only complaint was the portion of beef in my entree. Even for a lunch portion, a little more beef could have made this that much more enjoyable. Aside from the food, the staff was very attentive and kind. We will most certainly be returning in the future.

Very fast Service. Not the best pad thai I have had but not bad either. Not a fancy place and hidden but very reasonable prices. Will return for sure to try other plates.

Honestly, if I wasn't yelping for a Thai place to eat I don't think I would've ever seen this place or even considered going here. Hidden away in the second floor of a plaza is this jewel of a restaurant. The decor is lovely inside, very Thai themed, and very clean. Service was awesome and the food was absolutely delicious. Their menu has tons to choose from, and I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to eat. I ended up getting a Tofu Pad Woon Sen (stir-fried cellophane noodles). I seriously couldn't put my fork down even though I was super full. I was also excited to see the stir-fry wasn't smothered in oil. Also, the fried tofu was awesome, some places over-cook the tofu, but this one was crispy on the outside and silky inside. The portions are large and I was stoked I got to take some home so I could eat the next day. My boyfriend got the Royal Thai Special Fried Rice which comes with chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, and plenty other goodies. He couldn't stop eating either, but the only reason I'm giving Royal Thai 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the fried rice. He asked for no pork (this wasn't the problem), but only got two shrimps in his dish. You'd think they make up for not having gotten pork, and it was pretty sad that he only got two shrimps when it's such a large portion. Regardless, I can't wait to go back and try their pad thai! I absolutely recommend going here.

If I could eat here everyday I would! There red curry is the best I ever had! My husband and I stopped in on our way back from key largo and it was the best decision we made! He really enjoyed the tom yum fried rice as well as the soup. Whenever I'm in Miami again I will def go back!

I've been a loyal customer of Royal Thai for several years and they have never disappointed. I've had pad thai at dozens of Thai restaurants around the world but Royal Thai's has by far been the very best. Their food is amazing and their staff is very attentive and sweet. It's hands down my favorite restaurant!

First time here, the place is defenitely hidden in a mall second floor. Once you go in, bamboo smell, not my cup of tea there. We ordered pad thai (since it was so popular among yelpers), masamang curry and a fresh salad with peanut sauce. Service is ok, some waiters are very friendly, some are not... seems that this place is managed by a family business. It is true, glass of water is always filled. The salad came and it was a bit depressing... like there was no liveness in the plate, it was not inviting at all. The curry was meh... chicken did not have any taste - and the sauce of the curry seemed too bland. Pad thai flavor was ok, but presentation was not very inviting. Sorry Royal Thai, I'll stick to other Thai places...

This place is in a super shady-looking shopping plaza on 107th and NW 7th Street. It's actually a great and affordable restaurant! It's really great for lunch. I came to meet a friend for lunch one day and we were able to split the one order of spring rolls and fried rice pretty evenly. The food itself was delicious- really authentic. It's also a great price for the big portions you get.

Occasionally I go here and when I do i always receive GREAT SERVICE and AMAZING FOOD! The appetizer spring rolls came HOT, CRISPY and FRESH, Wonton Soup came HOT and my FAVORITE DISH Pad Thai is ALWAYS AMAZING here! I'd recommend Pad Thai for everyone out there, this place is amazing! Will definitely come again!

Close on Mondays. Highly recommend the food. Is very authentic. Got free dessert and free rice to take home for my left overs.

I love this place. I have been here several times already and I never go more than once to a place I don't like. That said, you should try the Masaman curry (did I get the name right ? :), but they also have these great specials where they bring you a bit of everything. They also have some Japanese fare if you feel like sushi ... But I would stick to the authentic thai food. The service is great, very flexible table service. I will go back.

This place is great. The Thai chicken cashew was awesome. Great lunch spot with affordable meals. Lunch specials include a small soup and egg roll. It's clean and spacious. Kind of tucked away on the second floor. Highly recommended.

I get scared when I walk into a restaurants and see very few clients. But when I walk into an empty restaurant, I just want to turn around and walk away. But since I have been here before and realized Sunday football was killing this place today we decided to stay. I ordered the honey chicken and vegetable friend rice. I was in love with the chicken. They were thinly sliced chicken breast panko breaded to a perfection and glazed with a light honey sauce. Delicious!! My BF ordered the volcano chicken and it was the same chicken but the volcano sauce was good as well. I started to make my own sauce and mixing the honey with the volcano. Spicy and sweet like me! LOL Their Pad Thai is also good and the portion are a good size for those that like to eat. In the restaurant they have a section with a Buddha temple that they created to honor and they are very polite and cautious that their customers don't disrespect their temple. If you are in the area give them a try.

I've been eating at this hidden gem for 15 years and I have yet to find a better Pad Thai anywhere. Period.

OH. MY. LORD. Or should I say Buddha? I've eaten so many pad thai's that it is ridiculous. This pad thai however, has to be the best! The owner is a little old (I'm assuming Thai) man who is just adorable. I usually order through phone since I go to school right next door and I just want to eat something quick by myself or something. The food is always ready within 10 minutes. I've never honestly had to wait for more than 10 minutes for my food to be done. The pad thai is the perfect spicyness and the flavor is just so amazing that I can't stop coming to get some. I am in love. There's only one problem...I actually vomitted one time eating the pad thai because it was so DELICIOUS. Of course, that was my fault. Definitely try this place!

A very unassuming place on the second floor of a plaza...I really liked the Red Curry Noodles. I'm used to the curry paired with rice, but noodles tasted great, especially with shrimps. Thai Ice Tea had a different flavor from what I'm used to. Perhaps it's the kind of leaves or maybe Miami just does it different from L.A., but all in all, it was a good dinner, and my companions agreed.

For the longest time this was the only Thai close to us. It is actually not very well known, its on the second floor of the strip mall, so if you don't know its there, or someone doesn't take you - well, you never would know! The food is delicious, I am pretty partial to their curries, and I must tell you that their chicken broth that starts the meal is just fantastic. Its just simple down to earth clean broth, a bit of chicken and green onions. The kind of soup you pick up when you are sick and need a pick me up! I have had the pumpkin custard, its delicious. Parking sucks during the day, but at night its a-OK. Service great, the only way I can describe it is "gentle". They make sure you have what you need and want without being in the way, if that makes any sense. It is a hidden GEM!

I have no idea how this place has such good reviews, but it's one of the worst "Thai" restaurants I have ever been to. A huge disappointment and not royal as they claim in their name. Food is definitely not authentic and has very little flavor with a watered down taste. Just walking in and looking at the menu should already set off alarms for you. A huge disappointment.

I've only had one dish here: Pad Thai. My friends call me a pad thai connoisseur and I always tell them that Royal Thai has the BEST pad thai in all of Miami. I've been to Siam, Tani, Panya, the lunch room... no doubt this is the most delicious pad thai. For spicy food lovers, here they have a 1-5 spicy level and I always order it 4 spicy and it's just the right amount for me.The portion here is large and their lunch special is $10 and I ad a $2 tip. The pad thai also comes with a tasty chicken broth soup. Service is here is great. The waiters keep the water glass filled as soon as it reaches the halfway mark. For lunch this place gets packed from people who work at FIU, AT&T and Perry Ellis! Definitely try it out and let people know how good this pad thai really is!

been to this place a few times for lunch since is quite close to my job. Both times the food has been consistently good, prices are decent. Portions are big and the service is good.

Really, when I want Thai, no matter where in the city I am, I think, "whyyyyy can't I be closer to Royal Thai!" They have the best pad thai I have tasted and they know how to make it HOT. The flavor and texture of the noodles is just fantastic. I usually eat the pad thai here but have tried broccoli chicken (I think that's what it was). Also - delicious! Their spring rolls are so good - and I think they just started making them a bit bigger. The service is great. Everyone is very sweet and they are attentive. My water glass is never empty - something I really appreciate. The prices are very reasonable. Two of us eat lunch for about $23 - that's with 2 entrees and an appetizer. The entrees come with soup if you eat in, but I learned today that if you take out, no soup. No biggie. The pad thai is totally worth it. Take out is quick. They say 20 minutes, but it's always ready a bit earlier. They seem to have some kind of patio attached to it, but I'm not sure if there's any access to it or if they hold events out there, but it looks very nice.

Great food. Exactly as expected.

Friendly service, got the chicken pad thai which was a little bit too sweet.
(3)Ivonne C.
Yummy Pad Thai! Second time I order from here and I love it! Great food.
(5)Mary T.
Simply delicious. Every time. I have have been coming here for years. The food is exquisite. Consistent. Best Thai food in Miami. Don't be discouraged by the location. You walk in and it's just peaceful and a really nice place to enjoy delicious food and a good conversation. The staff are the sweetest people!

At first we almost missed this place because it is on the second level of the shopping center. We were very happy we were able to find it because the food, service and ambiance were well worth going around the parking lot a few times. The staff were extremely friendly and were a real delight, adding enjoyment to our overall experience. The food was out to us quickly and the portion sizes were very reasonable-not huge, but filling. We can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu.
(5)Caitlyn P.
Best pad thai I've had in a while. In a shady shopping center, but definitely worth it!!
(5)S W.
We had Thai seafood mix, duck with volcano sauce and sashimi. They are all very good. Sashimi is very very fresh. In fact we ordered a second plate of sashimi. Their dishes were pretty spicy. I love it. Their Thai tea was a bit too sweet for me.

Thanks to yelp we found this place 5 mins from home! Love it! Food was delicious, service quick, no wait to sit down on a Friday night. Will definitely return!

The best ever Vegetable Pad Thai!! It has carrots, mushrooms, celery, bean sprout, scallions, baby corn, broccoli, cabbage and egg. No where else do they put that many veggies. I ask to add chicken to the vegetable pad thai because if you just order the chicken pad thai it doesn't bring all the mentioned veggies. The portions are huge, at least for me, I always without fail have to take about half or just a little less than half home with me. I only ever have that dish there so I cant review anything else, but I can say that my mom always orders and enjoys the sweet & sour chicken with the fried rice. I sampled her rice, it was good. *(By the way they're closed on Mondays and they close from like 3pm-5pm to get ready between lunch and dinner.)
