Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

We recently got a flyer in the mail for this restaurant. It was so close to our house we were surprised we had not seen it before. We tried it the next day and have been back three times in one week. The food is fresh and delicious. Old fashion homemade food and the service is spectacular. Call in and the food will be ready when you arrive. If you are are trying to eat smaller portions, one order is enough for two, specially if you order a salad or side. Although the prices are on the high side for take out, it is totally worth the price. I had the Spaghetti Bolognese, it was not on the menu, but they were happy to make it for me. I'm a spaghetti bolognese snob and I'm usually never happy when I order it, as find that it is rarely as good as the one I make at home. I have to say , this was as good as the one made at home! We use to constantly say that there was no good take out Italian restaurant in the neighborhood, that opinion has definitely changed. Try Polenta, it you will not be disappointed!

This place is such a treat. Hidden gem in a strip mall across from Merrick Park. I feel like I am stopping by a friend's kitchen every time I stop by here. The meatballs are delicious with the tomato sauce being extra good. The polenta and bread are very good too. The portion sizes are big so you leave filling stuffed. There is only one table here so I usually get the food to go. Whisk used to be in this location so I am really hoping Polenta expands operations and has the same type of success, they deserve it!

Came here a few weeks ago for lunch. The restaurant was empty, which was kind of expected for this small shopping center. Even whisk in the earlier days had a hard time filling this location. The Chef is Italian and very amicable and she is the main person servicing you during your time at polenta; she does a great job at doing so. We ordered mini meatballs for a dollar a piece. These were very tasty but slightly under cooked. The sandwiches were simple paninis but packed with fresh ingredients. Unfortunately though, prices were a little high. The panini was about 16$. I opted to order the panini because it was cheaper than the 20+ dollar salads. This is not a full service restaurant and there is really just one main table so that being said, prices are way steep and should be reevaluated. I had heard the lasagna was great but a half portion for 6 costs between 90-110 for takeout, salad sold separate.

This establishment is amazing. Keith & Olivia, the husband and wife team, are simply the best. They are so courteous, attentive, and super friendly. They were super helpful with me, as I was ordering a catered service for a staff training at work. Apart from the impeccable service, Keith & Olivia make delicious food. I recommend it all, but today we had the following and all were yummy: stuffed tomatoes (pomodoro al ripieno), lasagna di melanzane, lasagna di spinaci e ricota, brisket, polenta, and the dessert was to die for!!! Carrot cake and chocolate mousse = bomb.com . Please pay them a visit. I will definitely be visiting and ordering from them soon!!

Phenomenal food and service. Keith and Olivia were a delight. Had the polenta with wild mushrooms and the gnocchi with burrata and basil. Both were delicious and fresh. Highly recommend this place. Mostly take out, but they do have a table so you can enjoy your meal there which is a nice option if you don't live nearby.

This time we had the focaccia pizza, veal ragu tortellini and the gnocchi in a creamy smoked pancetta sauce. It was the best things I've ever eaten. These people are magicians.

This place is hands down one of the best Italian restaurants ever. Olivia, the owner is Italian and makes everything from scratch. We had the polenta cakes with wild mushrooms, gnocchi gorgonzola, and chicken milanese...you can tell that everything is made from scratch. Keith is the other owner and very attentive. The white chocolate pudding took our experience to the next level; it was AMAZING!!! You need to check this place out. They have limited seating available but the deliver and do take out. They also have lunch specials and catering. I am officially obsessed with Polenta!!!!!

Superb place. Don't plan on eating there unless it's for lunch or u reserved the "chefs table". Which by the way is the only table in the joint. The place is meant for take home. But not your usual "take out". This is the best Italian food I've found since moving to Miami from NYC over a year ago. Of course we had the polenta. Lightest I've ever had. With a cheese on top that was great. Raviolis were good. And the pasta with I think duck ragu was very good. They make their "gravy" sweet. I'm not a fan of sweet. So if that's the way u like it. It's great. To finish our meal we had white chocolate bread pudding. Again very light. Best bread pudding I've had. The owners are spectacular people. We were greeted and treated like "regulars". One is French trained and the other is as authentic Italian as u can get. Straight from Italy. I recommend this place for take home or book the "chefs table" for a private meal after they close. It's like having two private chefs coming to your home w/o the clean up. And BYOB. No liquor license.

Exceptionally tasty and authentic food in a cozy environment. Olivia, the host, chef and waitress was extremely nice and hospitable. We will be back.

Chef Olivia is from Verona, Italy- and it shows. This is the real deal. I lived in Italy for many years and cook Italian at home. And this food reminds me of when I lived in Italy. Try the "insalata di riso" a summer staple in Italy when it is too hot to cook (and most people don't have a/c.) Olivia does a wonderful version of it with Italian tuna , artichokes, olives , fresh tomatoes etc. Portions are abundant so large enough to share and taste a few things! I highly, highly recommend this place for anyone who loves authentic Italian cooking.

This new place is great! The owners, Keith and Olivia are so nice and accommodating. I stopped by to try a little sampling of their food (the chicken meatballs and butternut squash pasta-free ravioli) and it was delicious. They offer catering and lunch specials, so worth stopping by!
