Just like Moe's... only with a different name! Hello, change!

I'm sorry to say that this is the worst mexican food that I have ever had. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the ambiance and service is not bad, but the food is just bland, there is no spice, no lime, nothing that says mexican cuisine aside from the names. The biggest problem is that for the price you are paying the quality is not even close to what's expected, sorry Pepper's but whoever is in charge of your taste profile has no idea what mexican food should taste like. Try "El Carnal" down the road if you wanna get back to basics.

Went here for lunch with coworkers and I gave it 2 stars based on the customer service it was great. The food not so good it was just alright not now where near Moe's which was located where this place is. I/we will not be going back.

Pretty great for a chain. Very friendly staff and vegan-accommodating.

This is our favorite "go to lunch" restaurant! Fair prices, good food, good selection, clean restaurant, good service. The only bad thing is the parking because they are located in a popular strip mall. Fast service though. The manager checks to see that you are happy with your meal. We go once a week.. We make it back to work on time! Our favorites are the chicken enchilada platter and the fish tacos. Lots of chips! They are also open for the late nite crowd. Good to stop off here. I see people also take orders to go and they do deliver. We love this place.

Waited two hours for mediocre food. Had to place the order twice. The first time the order taker lied and said the delivery person could not find the address. After calling Gustavo the Manager, he stated the order was never placed because 36 other orders came in at the same time. He apologized and said that he would personally deliver the order and it would arrive in 20 minutes. One hour later still no food. As I was walking out of my office to get something else, the delivery guy pulled up. What happened to the delivery from the Manager? Poor service, lame excuses, too many lies and still not worth the 50% discount that as offered.

Well it is what it is. Semi fast Mexican food that good. I had the jalapeño burger and it packed a punch. Orale.

This mexican place makes tasty nachos, tacos and salads. I got the chicken salad and I got value of My money. Total 9$ for a salad + water. And I was so full. Nice interior and service. Close to south beach.

Good food. Good price. Good service. I will be coming back soon. This restaurant is worth a try. The sauces are really good

We love Peppers! The food is always excellently prepared and very fresh. The service was great as well. The Peppers salad had a huge portion of grilled chicken. They also have different varieties of salsa out for you to grab as much as you like. My new go to in the area for Mexican!

  • Hayley J.

I like this place. First discovered the location on South beach after a heavy night of drinking and thoroughly enjoyed the tortilla soup (which is more like a dip). Now I go to the brickell location for the ease of parking and quick delivery. I would avoid the tacos... but the burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, and burgers are quite good! The French fries that come with the burger are especially delicious (crisp and thin) and the chips and salsa comes with both red and green salsa. Not an ideal spot if you're craving authentic mexican, but they offer a variety of quality items that keep me coming back.

It was late and we were starving and desperate to find an open restaurant in the area. While at the stop light, I glanced over and saw Pepper's was open, we decided to give to a try. It was also Cinco de Mayo and we were craving Mexican so it worked out perfectly. We ordered quesadillas and a taco salad. Food was pretty great but my veggie quesadilla consisted of mostly green pepper and cheese (wasn't bad but I'm used to Lime's veggie quesadilla with rice, beans, pico, guac... ). Overall we had a good experience and will definitely be back.

I made the mistake of ordering before going to use the bathroom. Had I done things differently I would have surely walked out. The bathroom smelled like it was wiped down with a dirty rag. You know one that is soaked in urine and what not. I had to come out to complain that there was no paper. After standing my ground I got them to.move on it. Two taco salads and two sodas were $27. The soda from the machine was horrible and had to be switched out for bottles. When my pepper steak salad came it had chicken. They quickly scooped off the chicken and replaced it with steak. We requested another salad not one with chicken juice, I don't eat chicken... but that's another story. The steak tasted good but I ended up with a bowl filled with romaine lettuce with steak fajitas on top. Honestly it was my mistake that was exactly what it said on the menu, I guess I really had to go to the bathroom. All in all the food was ok but they really need to clean up there act literally. The place feels dirty so I hope my immune system is working overtime today

Chicken burrito is a must. Don't know about the rest of the food choices but burritos are always great and packs a good size meal. Good service. Late night opening hours. Pricing is fair for some plates.

  • Steven S.

Extremely mediocre Mexican food at reasonable prices but I would only go here if in a crunch or just want a quick grab and go meal. The bottom line is there is nothing that excels in this place, mediocre guacamole, mediocre rice, mediocre taste. Okay, you get the point, it's mediocre. Ha! I won't spend much time on this review because there is nothing more to say unless you want to hear about the sterile sub-par ambience.

Really like this place! I definitely underestimated it and misjudged it, however, turned out to be better than I expected! First of all, employees are VERY nice and attentive. Have been here quite a few times and they never have bad service. Although it is fast casual, line moves up fairly quick and in great conditions. Food is also good. They have a little "salsa station" which I think is important in a Mexican place. I would recommend.

We passed by Pepper's restaurant on saturday night. Great place to get quick and good mexican food. Very fresh and tasty ! Chicken quesadillas, burritos and burgers are all good. Don't miss the desserts (flan and brownies are awesome) and the bucket of coronas ! Choice of great hot sauces as well. Staff is nice and helpfull. Easy to park !

My best friend and I visited for spring break and were very pleased. I ordered tacos and my friend got fajitas, the food tasted amazing, and the staff was very welcoming, the place is very well maintained and cleaned, we enjoyed the food so much we went back twice for tacos! Definitely recommend it!

Food here is still somewhat decent but it's not worth the price anymore. There used to be incentives for locals like a loyalty card and discount card but those are gone. $10 for a so so chicken quesadilla is extreme. It's a shame, I used to go here weekly.

Never again!!!! I went there with a co worker at lunchtime, look like ghost town, I order quesadilla and one taco $14.00 extremely expensive, my friend order a enchiladas, I finished my meal and his wasn't ready yet, the oven broke down, then just tell him we gonna give your money back, the cook guy was very rude with him, don't wanna cooperate with the situation, that say a lot of customers service, do not recommend, before was better place to eat , not anymore.

Mediocre at best. Both food and service were quite the disappointment. My friend and I ordered a burrito and quesadilla. Sadly, both were barely edible. Will not be trying this place again.

WARNING: IF YOU'RE READING THIS THEN THIS WARNING IS FOR YOU. ^ Fight Club quote, you like that? Yeah, you do. I have eaten here once before with no problem (silly me) and ordered the steak quesadilla, which was good in my opinion. But, I always thought if you have good food the service didn't really matter, but F that in the A. Last night I noticed something strange when I ordered the usual quesadilla and a burger for my boyfriend. Usually when I order I just sit on one of the tables and play on my phone while I wait for my food to take home. This time I didn't have my phone on me so I decided to entertain myself by reading the receipt. I looked at the total and thought, damn this is pretty expensive just for the two items it cost $18.99, I looked at the prices of the food and saw that I was charged close to $9 for each the quesadilla and the burger. I stood up to double check the big menu board that had the prices up. The steak quesadilla is priced $7.89 and the Pepper's burger is priced as $6.99. I was charged over $4 extra! I was like what the french toast man? I walked up to the cashier and before I could even get a word out she's like "Yeah, the prices are wrong, the manager needs to change that." I said "Okaay? Maybe you should of told me that before you charged me." She didn't say a word to me, she didn't apologize for over charging me, she didn't bother to adjust the price, she didn't say anything about the mark up during the time I was ordering and when I was done paying for my food. I went outside to tell my boyfriend the situation and he just told me it's wrong what their doing and get a refund. I went back inside told the cashier to please give me a refund and she gave me a death stare. Like if she had laser beams in her eyes I would of been vaporized, no more reviews on Yelp for me. While I was waiting for my refund, some fat dude who works there was just chatting it up with her and the cook. Saying things like "Oh, she doesn't want the food anymore? That's okay we can just eat it." Are you freaking fraking kidding me right now? Never going into this place anymore, if you like paying more than what you see priced on the menu, go for it my friend. But F that. But if you ever do step foot in there, keep in mind my review and look at your receipt.

I'll keep it simple as regards to Pepper's on Brickell: it's a solid, convenient, cheap and respectfully tasty lunch in the Brickell area! I was in the area yesterday when hunger pangs struck around the time I saw a sidewalk sign shaker dude advertising a recently priced lunch special. Since I happened to be doing an errand in the building I jumped at it. For the price, my chicken burrito was fairly well stuffed with plenty of chicken (nice spicy notes!), cheese, black beans and rice. I'm also appreciating the fact they toss in a handful of nicely crispy chips. Why only three stars? While the crew tended to it fairly quickly, the ceiling did start to leak during yesterday's rain storm. They put a metal pot to catch the drip that looks like one of the containers where condiments are kept. Here's hoping that it IS a separate one than where they put food. Also - and while no fault of their own - the parking lot is rather difficult to get in and out of.

The staff were extremely friendly and even gave me and my fiancé recommendations. I thought the salsa bar was a nice touch but could of had bigger sampling cups and more of a selection (guess I'm just used to the salsa bar at Lime...) however the burrito was good. Would recommend if you're in the mood for Mexican in the wee hours. Lol :)

Maybe 2.5? Pepper's definitely has some opportunities. I ordered two shrimp tacos without cheese or sour cream. I was satisfied. I mean, the lettuce could of been fresher (it looked a little beat up) and the shrimp could of been a little bit bigger (they were those tiny little ones) but they came with chips, so I was happy. My boyfriend ordered the chicken burrito and didn't finish it. He complained that it had no flavor and his lettuce seemed bad... he said it was just really dull. Service was okay. The girl just kind of stood there while we were trying to figure out what to get. No "Hi how are you, have you been here before, you should try this, ect..." And then when I ordered a diet coke she gave me a bottle, but when we turned the corner we saw a fountain machine for soda? Why didn't she ask me which one I wanted?? Also, salsa bar only had their "Crazy" "Mild" and pico de gallo, everything else gone. This place could be really great, but it's just not there yet.

Wow. Yeah.... no to the Taco Salad. According to the website it comes with: Pico de gallo, cheese, sour cream over lettuce. Your choice of chicken or ground beef. $7.99 or $1 more for steak. Price was completely different when I ordered. More $. Quality of food was horrible." Pico de gallo" was just chopped up tomatoes, no cheese, lettuce was cheap, sour cream splattered everywhere. "Taco bowl" it came in was wrapped in plastic separately, took one bite and didn't eat the rest. It was tasteless and unhealthy with the oil residue. With the salad, i ordered a side of quacamole ($1.95 extra) and got the steak for the extra $1. When I got the order it already included guacamole (which wasn't mentioned on the site), so that means i ordered an extra without knowing and the staff didn't tell me. She didn't even ask me what type of dressing I would like. I discovered this after browsing the site. The guac was also pretty stale, by the way. Steak: flat thin strips of beef. I know what a steak salad looks like, and this wasn't it. Total: $15.77 (including $3 delivery charge). When the delivery guy came I said, "Thank you! Delivery is included , right?" His reply, "Well the delivery is included but not the tip." Ummm...WHAT?? Explain to me what the $3 was for then, and it was only one block from my place of work. I never get why businesses serve bottom of the barrel food and expect to still be in business. Might explain the closing of the Sunny Isles location. All in all, try somewhere else. Great places for salads: Bon Fromage in Brickell; Salsa Fiesta (NE 30th & Biscayne); Lime Fresh (Downtown Miami and Midtown).

I absolutely love this place. We order at least once a week via GrubHub. Delivery is always faster than the estimated delivery time and our food always arrives fresh and hot. The chicken enchiladas are amazing. Their salsa verde really is something to crave. The burritos and chicken quesadillas are also tasty and enormous. The burgers are also surprisingly good. Every dish we've ordered has been a huge portion. The prices are great! There really isn't anything not to like.

I wish I had read Shanny's review before ordering delivery. I also ordered during a work day and it was DISASTER. I called at 11:15AM to order tacos for 5 people in the office (15 tacos, one soda, and 3 green sauce sides). The girl told me it'd be ready in about one hour. I called within 1:30 minutes to check.. "We're just making the last taco. should be there in 15 minutes". 20 minutes later I called again, "the driver should be there already. let me call him to find out where he is". At 1:30pm (2 hours and 15 minutes later), the drive shows up. He had no change, PLUS he FORGOT MY GREEN SAUCE!!!!!!! which was the whole point for ordering Pepper's to begin with. Without the sauce, it's just another taco which I could get a block away. I called the restaurant again, and the girl told me, "I have called and sent him a text, that he geenrally had extra sauces on his car with him" (if that isn't a sign of drivers forgetting parts of the orders I don't know what is), and that she would have him bring them up asap. 5 minutes later when the driver didn't show up, I called her yet again (yes I was very irritated), she told me she would be sending another driver to bring me the sauces. Are you freaking kidding me?! Not only had I waited over 2 hours for the lunch that was promised within 1 hour, but now the key ingredient was missing. URG, NEVER AGAIN will I order for delivery because this restaurant is really disorganized. And evidently this is not a fluke since other reviews say the same. I love Pepper's food, but from now will only eat it by going directly to the restaurant, and only the one in South Beach, since there appears to be some quality and over-charging issues with the one in Brickell.

Had some Pepper's for the first time Saturday night and I loved the fish tacos, you can't really go wrong with Mexican but we ordered delivery and the fact that it was delivered with no spillage, crispy tortilla chips, and tasty tacos - you can't beat that.

Great place and excellent food. I've tried many Mexican restaurants and by far, this one is one of my favorites. I highly recommend their oversized Pepper's Burrito, with chunks of beef mixed with guacamole, rice and beans. Simply delicious!

    (4)
  • Jessica R.

Took over an hour to deliver and then my Classic Burrito with black beans was actually a Veggie Burrito with pinto beans. Basically, Pepper's Burrito Grill totally nail this quick downtown lunch with both time and order accuracy.

Came one late evening and food didn't taste fresh. The meat in my burrito was salty and the salsas at the salsa bar were watered down. Fail!

  • Chelsie L.

this place is really awful. I don't understand how they are staying open in this area. And whatever you do, don't order delivery (See prior reviews here for confirmation of that little gem). They will manage to completely screw up your order. The food is extremely salty, not flavorful, and most definitely not worth the price.

    (1)
  • Tanjila A.

Food is pretty decent, not authentic by any means, but it satisfies. Their enchiladas are really good. Don't bother with the tacos. I usually order delivery from here when I need a mexican fix - be prepared to wait because they usually take over an hour... even though they are less than a mile from me.

    (3)
  • Cristie E.

Very simply put, do not even bother. My burrito was so greasy, it dripped. Looking past the grease, it fell apart in 3 seconds- all over my desk. It was not even tasty in a so bad, it's good type way. The staff was nice enough that I gave it another star. However, I think you can find better Mexican food at Taco Bell. And I hate Taco Bell.

    (2)
  • Josie L.

I love Mexican food. I am not that picky about it. But the food here is really sub-par. I've gone here a few times for convenience, but I've sworn never to go back. The fluorescent lighting, flavorless food and lethargic, humorless staff have turned me off for good.

So, I go to Peppers for dinner with my family. After telling the cashier the specifics of my order about three times (chicken soft tacos with only cheese), the server brought the chicken tacos with everything. I explained what my son wanted (again) and he took it back and brought the chicke taco with cheese and tomato- again wrong, but by that time my son was starving and ate it. Then with my order of chicken enchiladas, I ate two of them and the third rolled tortilla was a beef enchilada. I walked over to the cashier and explained what happened, of course she wasn't really listening and her response was " If you order chicken and got beef why did you eat almos all of then" GRR by then I was losing my patience, and explained again that I had gotten two of the enchiladas with chicken and the third one had beef. She, then took the plate adn came back with a fresh enchilada plate. I asked her if that was the plate of another guest who had been waiting for his enchiladas with no sour cream and onions, she said, "no". Needless to say, I got home and got Beef Enchiladas again! This place is HORRIBLE! The food is not as bad as the service. Also, it was not a language issue, I explained in English and Spanish.

Decided to try Pepper's one night after a long day at work. We wanted to quickly pick up dinner to go, so we decided to make a stop after having passed the spot on our way home quite a few times (turns out they deliver too). Inside the place was bright and colorful and looked very clean. My boyfriend went with the burrito and I got the fiesta soup and chicken enchiladas. I can't really handle spicy,so I asked the woman at the counter if the tomatillo sauce that came with the enchiladas would be...she told me "not really." While we waited for our food we grabbed some salsa cups to go from their salsa bar. It looked ok, not particularly fresh but they had the full range from "mild" to "crazy." Took our food to go, and as we left noticed that technically it was happy hour and the burritos were supposedly $4.99 (their Wednesday special). Since no one was around my boyfriend asked the woman working the register and she said that you only got the discount "if you mentioned it when ordering." Thought it was a bit odd that they wouldn't automatically give you the rate and you had to request it, but we were hopeful the food would at least be decent. Unfortunately it wasn't. The chips that came with our orders were hard and stale. My enchilada sauce was definitely spicier than I would have liked, and the chicken in my enchiladas was just one long strip of white meat rolled in a corn tortilla. The fiesta soup too was spicier than I like, and seemed a bit too salty. I did however like the corn they put in it. My boyfriend's burrito was fine, but it feel apart when he tried to eat it. Definitely a disappointing experience, we probably won't be returning. If you want better Mexican to-go, stick with Salsa Fiesta in Midtown, or Lime.

Bland. I love burritos and it would be hard for me to give a poor review. But these burritos are exceptionally bland. Tip is to load up on the crazy hot sauce. Chips are thick and crunchy, but again salsa and guacamole seem to be lacking something tasty... Maybe cilantro?

  • Martin O.

I dropped into Pepper's for a late lunch. I've never been to any of the other Pepper's locations. It's Southwest Mexican with generous portions of food, even if you order a single taco. I tried their Steak Nachos Appetizer. They served the chips up in a separate container. The quality of the Steak was good, but I thought the Nachos were very, watery. The Menu says they have Refried Beans, but they are more or less Pinto Beans with a little sauce. I also tried a Soft Ground Beef Taco. It came with some chips. There is parking in front in the 8th Street Strip Mall Parking Lot (McDonalds/CVS). There is also metered parking on the Street.

My girlfriend and I ate here for a late-night meal once back in August. I think of it, now every time we eat out because it serves as our benchmark of mediocre restaurants serving bland food. We didn't finish our burritos because of their lack of flavor. To compensate, we ordered a side of chips and guacamole. The size of the guacamole bowl pictured on their menu board was impressive, but the counter staff brought it out in a small plastic salsa cup and left without saying anything. I approached the counter to ask if there would be more guac with the order. The staff person looked around, embarrassed, and told us they were making more in the back. She then looked down and nervously handed me another small side cup of guacamole. By the time we began eating it, we discovered that the chips were stale.

Yummy food that's reasonably priced, perfect to go, delivery or dine in. Good quick food without the pricey good food price. The menu says avocado but they actually don't have avocados, it's just guacamole.

  • Natalie P.

Peppers is alright. Priced right, food is tasty. I've only been there when it was quite late, and the night squad are nice guys, so I can't comment on the daytime customer service. The guacamole was tasty but nothing to write home about - if it's late and you want a quick bite in Brickell, you're a-ok with Pepper's. Definitely MUCH better than the Moe's that was previously at this location.

I cannot say anything positive about this establishment. Really bad mexican food. Stale chips and the worst tasting fajitas i have ever had. Warning for those looking for a quick meal. Its not even worth the $10 they would charge.

This is a review only on delivery! Horrible Service,I put in a order for delivery. First my order was wrong. I asked for extra chips and extra salsa verde and didn't get any of them. In my order i also had asked for a drink and the delivery person didn't bring it. I called for my drink and manager told me he would include it next order i asked if he could please send it because i had nothing but water to drink at my house nevertheless he said yes and I never called me back nor did they show up with my drink. I will never go nor call this place again, for what I even paid for the food was not even that good. who ever that manager is I hope you get fired for being so rude.

You'd think with a name like "Peppers" that the food would be well-seasoned, or at least spicy - not so. We've tried the tacos, burrittos and salads, with chicken, steak and ground beef and everything was just so, so. It can fill you up, but not really tasty.

Went there today for the first time, ordered a fish burrito. The fish was so old and hard I almost broke my tooth.... it had the texture of overcooked bacon.... disgusting... they are going to kill someone if they keep serving that... I went up to the register and the girl seemed very indifferent about it... she turned around and asked the cook if that was fish, the cook replied yes, she turned around and said " it is fish" .... I explained to her once again that I understand that that was fish, but that it was old and hard... they offered to make another one, I just took my money back and left.... maybe their other menu items are better, but the fact that they would serve that to a customer makes me not wanna back there ever again... I've attached a picture of my fish burrito

I'm shocked and puzzled by the relatively high ratings Pepper's has received. My party of three ate there today and I can honestly say I would have preferred Taco Bell. The chips were stale (seriously, not being cute), the guacamole wayyy over-salted, the burritos greasy as can be, and the enchiladas... oh, the enchiladas... served sizzling on a skillet like fajitas, with over-salted chicken inside soggy tortillas and some greasy cheese. That's IT. No sides like a meager pile of rice and beans... nothing. Just the three little enchiladas... for $8! Prices... another absurdity. Almost $40 for the above meal, with two drinks. Ambiance - nice enough; an improvement over the prior tenant (Moe's) and very clean. But, hey, what's the deal with the CHEAP napkins and cutlery? We used about 30 dainty and easily ripped nappies to wipe up all the grease and the cutlery was that diminutive, bendy white plastic stuff you get on an airplane. And speaking of airplanes... the music is just plain strange. Nothing cool or funky or atmospheric, just the sort of background blah noise you'd hear as you board a plane. Hint: music is supposed to enhance the atmosphere. Service... good enough, and the reason I gave two stars as opposed to one. Bottom line: At this price level you are better off going to Lime, and at lower prices you'd have a better meal at Taco Bell.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize.
