I went there today for the first time and it will most likely be my last. I have never seen such bad and rude service in my life. I ordered the spinach cannelloni ( which was good but took forever to arrive that I had to take it to go). The cashier had a horrible attitude towards the customers and it seemed that she ignored you purposely. This restaurant has to remember they are in the service industry. You have to provide service. Never going back,

Look .. let's focus here. This is not a hot club on Collins Avenue or a fancy shmancy eatery in Key Biscayne... this is a place to savor freshly made pasta. Period. We walked in, selected the type of pasta, selected the sauce and other ingredients, and in 15 minutes had a delicious "custom made" pasta dish in front of us. You can also buy the fresh pasta to cook at home, if you want. So gather some friends and enjoy great pasta at a quiet place, where you can talk and have fun without being overwhelmed by crowds, loud noise, obnoxious hostesses, etc. Cheers!

I needed carbs, and I needed them delivered directly to my door step - immediately. I scoured grub hub, seamless and eat24 until I settled on some pumpkin ravioli and bolognese dishes (Yea, I ordered two, go ahead, judge me). The ravioli was good - not great - good. The bolognese's meat to tomato sauce balance was tipped towards tomato and the sauce itself was too sweet. Would not repeat, would not recommend. As for as I can tell, the goal here is to sell you some fresh pasta - but I'm a little confused, because it's not obvious that you can 1. eat inside the restaurant or 2. order pasta to make at home delivered or 3. that the restaurant is actually open: I walked in one night, and stood at the counter for 10 minutes waiting for signs of life. There were none. I'm convinced the best way to have secured some grains would have been to just steal them, but petty theft hasn't been in vogue since Winona Ryder got arrested in 2001. As far as authenticity goes, I think the most authentic thing they sell here is empanadas...

This place by all means is unique. The only consistent aspect of this restaurant is in fact, how inconsistent they are. They make good pasta, with an Argentinian touch. They are different and at times it seems like they have just opened. Their focus seems to be changing ( e.g. they had a great FLAN). Now the same Flan, sucks with no taste at all. Go figure! The owners seem like great people, just need to open their minds a little and actually listen to their customers. They started with their right foot, now they are on crutches... I have faith on their efforts! Watching them... but running out of patience...

I walked in at 8:45 on a Wednesday night. There were two workers in the front. And no one in the restaurant. No one greeted us... Ever..... No big deal. Just bad a bad start. My girlfriend and I looked at the menu for one minute. It's a small menu doesn't take long to figure out what you want. And we stood there for several minutes. No workers even looked at us. We said "hello".... They kept ignoring us.... Finically I said loudly, "are you open" and then the "mute" worker finally said, "I didn't know you were ready". Maybe next time you should say, "may I help you?, do you have any questions?" .... And to top it off the food was average pasta and average sauce for $12. This place won't be around long.

So I will start my reviews with the positives. I believe the the food taste great and the portions are good for the price. I love love love their Luigi's Cheesecake and the lasagna is good too. Now for the bad .... The girl that works there is very rude sometimes and does not acknowledge you when you walk in the door. When you get ready to put your order in she acts like you are bothering her and gives an un polite vibe. In addition she is the DJ for the music that is playing and I will tell you that i heard 2-3 four letter words that I would bot want a child to hear. Music was ghetto and loud and inappropriate for this type of an establishment. To recap service is horrible!!! Also they serve you in to go containers instead of plates. This girl is costing the owner money As I watched a couple leave because of the length of time it took her to great them and her unhappy attitude. Overall gave it a 3 star because you will have a good experience on take out or deliveries. I would never eat at the restaurant if I have the choice but would order for delivery.

3 1/2 stars if it's in the category of Italian/Pasta/Restaurants. It's 4-5 stars if it's in the category of fresh fastfood pasta. How can people complain about choices from $10 for pasta dishes? It's not bad at all if you just don't compare it to Scarpetta or Il Mulino.. just sayin'...

Its ok. They have home made pasta and such. The price is ok, but I wish the portions were bigger...

I was taught to not say anything if you have nothing nice to say. For those that praise the empanadas...well I'll have to stay silent again. For a good empanada try Sergio's or La Estancia. Regretfully, after 5 try's and 5 stomach aches, I have to throw in the towel on Mondo.

I like the concept but not crazy about the carbs. They do have very big and delicious empanadas which I recommend. As others have said, change the lighting!

The food: tried linguini and meatballs and this stuff is LEGIT. It's fairly priced, perfectly Al Dente and the flavours are all fresh and satisfying. You don't leave stuffed or hungry, it's a nice in between. Don't go for ambience, don't go for smiley service. Go for their amazing pasta. It's what they do very, very well.

This place brings me back to my childhood. The pasta is crazy good and the other items are just as good. The option of taking the pasta to make at home is the best thing this place has. I took 4 boxes of raviolis and 1.5lbs of Caruso sauce (my favorite) for $35 and 6 of us ate to die. The service still needs improvement, but is normal of a newly place. A must try.

I was so excited to try this place - a new fast casual place in Brickell! I stopped by after work at 7:30, waited patiently as a customer chatted up the only employee behind the counter for five minutes and paid for his food. After being told multiple times: "Ill be right with you," I finally got to make my order. The employee then informs me that "oh, miss - the kitchen is closed." What?! 7:30 on a Wednesday in Brickell? And after waiting 5 long hungry minutes while the person ahead of me is served?! Needless to say, my first impression of the place is less than good, and I didn't even get to try the food. Not even a hint of an apology from the employee either. Not sure if they're worth trying again.

Great pizza, great fresh pasta, nice environment! The empanadas are so fresh and they're baked without frying... Bonisimo!

I went to Mondo Pasta and I truly liked it. The pasta tasted great and you can tell it was homemade and fresh! I also try a meat empanada that also was very good. The service was ok. I will go again to try new stuff.

fresh pasta is really good but the delivery service is awful...1 hour for a delivery of 2 boxes of uncook pasta (2 weeks in a row) and I live 5 blocks away...and the girl on the phone is idiotic...cannot make a decision without having to ring the owner...and has no idea of what she is selling, kids of pasta, kids of sauces, how to cook them, how to match them...NOTHING!!!

I placed an order through grub hub, as I often do, and the food never arrived. I was spending over 30 minutes going back and forth between grub hub, Mondo Pasta and the restaurant's third-party delivery service. Restaurant worker was blaming the delivery driver. Delivery driver blaming the restaurant. Long-story short, customer is left with no food 2 hours later. I was a fan, but will never return to this place. I now understand why the place is always empty when I'm there! Update: The restaurant manager finally apologized and offered to make everything fresh and send it to my apartment (I still had not received the original food which was, as I later found out, sitting in the security office for the past 1.5 hours). The manager also said he would remove the charge from GrubHub for all the inconvenience. When the food finally arrived, it was clear it was not re-made, but rather just picked up from the security office downstairs. Food was room temperature, everything soggy - just disgusting. I recently called GrubHub to confirm they had actually done what they said they would do and refund me, and, of course, they had not. It was only 25 bucks or something, so I don't care enough to pursue it further. Bad food and poor management. I would be horrified/embarrassed if this were my business.

mmm it's hard for me to say...After eating the pasta I thought three stars. Then I had their flan, which was amazing and I Thought four stars. but I just went based on the pasta. We had two different kinds of ravioli. They were okay...nothing spectacular. We had their white cream sauce and pesto. The pesto was good, really flavorful. But it was so strong that you couldn't really taste the pasta. The white cream sauce was lacking in depth. I think I would like to go back and try a simpler tomato based sauce and either the Agnolotti or flavored pasta. And I will go back for the flan.

This place has fresh and great tasting pasta! I love the agnolotti of ham & cheese nothing like it in Miami! Also must try the empanadas! Best empanadas in town and the best part is that they're baked which is hard to find in Brickell.

I was not impressed with the spaghetti. There was barely any sauce on it and it was just... blah. It was more like ketchup than sauce. Even the noodles tasted bad. I ended up tossing it out and I never toss out food, but it just wasn't edible. I can't really comment on the other items because I haven't tried them, so maybe I'll have better luck with something else.

If the owners read this, YOU JUST NEED TO CHANGE ONE THING. No one is going to walk into that place, it has hospital style lighting inside. Literally 8 panels of office/hospital fluorescent lighting and seemingly 15 hanging fluorescent bulbs. Go walk past other successful restaurants in the area, notice their lighting. This is restaurant 101 stuff. You have a solid product, but dreadful ambience. Ever hear the term "warm and inviting" your decor is "cold and repulsive". I actually ordered for delivery once and your product is decent, just turn off the overhead panels and get some darker areas. I could easily lay on a table there and have surgery performed on me with no extra light needed. Ridiculous. Also, you have good fresh pasta and sauce to go, why are you not advertising this anywhere? It's insanity. If you just slapped on "Mondo Pasta Italian Deli and Grocery" the entire neighborhood would flock to the place. If you haven't noticed, everyone in the area wants to claim some type of Italian heritage due to their complete insecurity of their passport origin. 1. Reduce the lighting 2. Figure out a way to make the place less of a hospital vibe 3. Appeal to locals by calling it what it is, an italian eatery/grocery (if you have to throw up a fridge with limoncello and pelligrino next to your sauces and pastas to go....so be it). I wish you guys luck. Tough love.

I've lived in the area for a while, and decided to give this place a try. Customer service was atrocious (the lady at the register had an awful attitude). My partner (who is allergic to dairy products) ordered the vegan sandwich (as the menu calls the item). I ordered a lasagna and my mother-in-law ordered the ravioli. We were the only people in the restaurant (at 11:45am) and it took them about 15 minutes to bring the ravioli. After another 8 minutes they brought the vegan sandwich oozing with cheese, accompanied by a side salad, which had even more cheese in it. When we asked the lady at the register to please remove all dairy products from the sandwich, she reluctantly went back in the kitchen and brought back a new sandwich full of pesto (which is normally made with parmesan). After about 35 minutes, and no new customers, we finally asked to have the lasagna to go. Won't be coming back.

Great pasta options to go or have them cook and stay. Friendly staff and good location. Great sauce options.

This nice Italian eatery is in the building that I live in. Came in for the first time and the owner and waitress were extremely nice and informed me of all the items. I had a few nice spinach, chicken, and beef empanadas and some coffee for a nice brunch. I also tried one of their many sauces which was quite good. Will come back for the pasta since it was being made fresh and I am sure it will be good.

I would provide a negative star, but those aren't available. (1) - Ordered online, then received call indicating they don't carry the vegan sandwich I ordered, despite it being on the menu. No resolution was provided. Offer something for my inconvenience and pay me back the difference. (2) - Pumpkin pasta was rubbery; clearly over cooked. (3) - Sauce didn't even cover the noodles; VERY dry. and tasteless. 4) - The two tiny bread pieces were hard as rocks and I couldn't even attempt to eat them. The delivery guy was nice, so that's probably where I'd put that one star :) Sorry, but it sucked!

Went during lunch. The pasta is okay but I asked for marinara sauce and received alfredo. They took awhile to get the order ready. A bit haphazard. Might go back. Looks like they make the pasta fresh daily.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
