Last Friday night the hubby and I decided to go out and grab sushi. We read great reviews about this place and decided to give it a shot. First things first...Can they clean the fish tank they have in the entrance? For the love of Jesus, its disgusting! Almost walked right out of the restaurant JUST because of that tank. Im glad we didnt. We were seated right away, and our waitress was really sweet and polite. We ordered 4 rolls, a JB Roll, A California Roll, a Heaven Roll (probably my favorite) and spicy tuna roll. All the rolls were amazing! I was really blown away by the quality of the food. I cant wait to go back to try more rolls, but I do hope that they clean that freaking fish tank!!

I read the reviews and I had to try it. I ordered the tsunami roll which had a mixture of cooked and raw fish and it was just perfect. Just when I thought they couldn't get any better between their food and service, I ordered the fried Oreos (OH MY GOODNESS).

We came to this place to try something new and I believe this is my favorite sushi restaurant at the moment ,this place exceeded my favorite sushi spot . Great service and great rolls . I had a wonton soup in which my boyfriend ate all my wontons something he's never done before and said they were amazing, the awesome roll is to die for, overall is a great place stuck in this little corner of a shopping center ,once you taste it you'll love it ,can't wait to go back.

Service was good. The appetizer (tuna tetake) was great. My bf and I shared the duck curry and it was so so... My overall experience was okay. Nothing out of this world. Not in a rush to go back ... Probably won't... Who knows

Still the best pad thai I've ever had! Owner and server are very nice! I've been coming here for about 10 years now. Must try!

Place is legit. I had the crunchy tuna roll and the coconut soup and the Thai tea.The staff is great and the restaurant is quiet and clean. First time there and will definitely be back. Didn't know there was such a hidden gem so close to my house.

Good sushi, good prices, service was 'so-so'. Definitely would re-visit since I don't mind filling up my own wine glass PR sharing napkins, but if you do then don't come here or at least be aware that it's more of a laid back restaurant with focus on their food.

Once again hail the awesome roll and volcano rolls. My girl loves the Florida panther roll. Seaweed salad and now Oreo Tempura!!! Holy cow. Happy new year Kam Wah

Best authentic Thai and Sushi in town! Great service, and they don't take forever to serve you! the Pad Thai is one of the best I've ever tried, seriously!! the tuna on fire roll is delicious too, my fave! I LOVE this place!!!!

So we came here last night for Fathers Day. My girls wanted to take their dad out for dinner but he didn't want to go off to far from home. Yeah, he wanted to be back home in time for the Heat game. But the Basketball Gods were on his side, because the restaurant had two TVs. I tagged along because I'm special! Anyhoo, my daughter has been here before and loves it. We ordered an assortment of stuff to share. I wasn't very hungry (surprisingly) but I did try a bit of the house steak and fried rice. The steak was served cooked to order and was tender. The fried rice was ok but quite a bit salty. The sushi was good and fresh. Fried items were not served greasy. That was a huge plus. Some portion sizes do not justify the price but others are fairly generous, so it's just hit or miss. Everything comes out nicely plated and appetizing. The server was polite and friendly. The place is small but welcoming. There's a bit of everything for all tastes. The menu offers a wide selection of Thai, Chinese and Japanese options. It's nearby, so we will be stopping by again.

As of my last visit, I am afraid to say Kam Wah has surpassed my love for Kampai. Not by much, but man it was so delicious. The tuna tartar on a bed of seaweed salad with crispy wontons.. the tuna on fire-- I'm salivating!

My boyfriend had been wanting to try this place forever because of the floor sitting they have to offer but he ended up ordering takeout which was fine with me! They do have a dining area, a bar, and the floor sitting- something for everyone. We ordered the Pad Thai- which was good, not great but good-, and 2 sushi rolls which I can't remember. In every review I write concerning sushi, I will probably refer back to Ruson because it seems I will never be satisfied as I was when I went to Ruson. The sushi rolls here at Kam Wah are tasty and their Spicy Tuna Roll is fire! I loved it. I would come here again for that particular spicy roll and maybe venture to order something else...maybe.

I should have known better than to go to a Thai/Japanese/Chinese restaurant for Pho but 1) I was desperate and 2) this place is so close to where I live that I had to give it a shot... big mistake! The broth didn't taste like anything... it was almost just hot water. The beef was possibly brisket and some chopped up meatballs that in my opinion were so inedible I fished them out. I had to practically douse the soup with hosin sauce for it to taste vaguely familiar. Having lived in DC for the last 8 years and been recently introduced to Pho I can admit that I'm slightly spoiled and my expectations high, but this could barely be considered Pho. Especially not my beloved Pho Tai, I suppose that that should have been my first red flag. My quest for decent Pho in South Florida continues... I'm giving it 2 stars for the service, which was great, and the very tasty spring rolls I ordered. They took a while to come out but you could tell they were freshly made. I'd consider coming back for the sushi and other Thai dishes as they looked yummy.

Delicious sushi and pork fried rice. I love their Dragon roll and you must try their fried Oreo dessert! I've been there more than 5 times and always a good experience. Waitresses are nice and restaurant is clean. I recommended it to my parents and they love it too!

Hidden little place right behind don fernando's on bird road. Decided to get some take out from this place. Honey chicken hit the spot, was really good and fresh! fried rice was okay..nothing too special. I definitely think this place has some good potential and from all the great yelp reviews, ill come by sometime again to try some other things off their menu.

I will start off by saying that I am very particular about my Thai and Japanese food. I've eaten what I feel is the BEST Thai and Japanese in Miami, so maybe I am just being picky now. I was excited when my friend mentioned that this place had a Japanese, Thai and Chinese menu. I am always down to try new places and my friends seem to really love this place, so off we went. I looked over the menu and it all sounded wonderful. I was ready to order like 5 dishes, but I went with a salmon skin handroll, shrimp shumai and an order of the volcano chicken. Simple enough. I don't think you can really go wrong with that. For starters, the food took way too long to come out. Although our waiter was very friendly and attentive, the food really shouldn't have taken so long, especially a salmon skin handroll. When I asked him for it he casually said "Oh, let me check on that." I have a feeling he completely forgot. The steamed shrimp shumai was pretty good. When my volcano chicken finally came out I was in love with the presentation of the dish; however, the chicken was bland, and the vegetables were rubbery. I had about 3 bites and pushed the dish away. I was definitely done for the evening. I took it home and gave it to my brother who didn't care much for it either. I was really hoping this place would knock my socks off, especially because it's so close to home, but alas, it did not. I don't want to fully dismiss this place because I have only eaten here once, but I will tell you what, I am not in any rush to go back.

I seriously wish yelp had a 10 star rating system because 5 isn't enough for Kam Wah. I literally have DREAMS of this place. I love spicy food and i'm not one of those people that will brag and be like "oh i can handle the hottest things ever" No, I like enjoying my spicy food. Kam Wah makes their spicy dishes perfectly. I'm not dying but I don't feel jipped either. My favorite FAVORITE dish here is the Tom Yum Goong. It's a soup but I could seriously just eat that all day long. The lemongrass taste is perfect, at level two spice it's spicy enough to make my nose run but good enough to make me grin like a school girl. My boyfriend also had the Spicy Bamboo and it just had the best flavor ever. Everything is always well cooked and nothing ever disappoints. I feel like everything here is extremely authentic and cooked with care. The sushi here is also really good but once again, the Thai food here is unparalleled to anything i've ever had. I've had the spider roll and it's my favorite and nothing can compare. Also, it's not pricy whatsoever. My boyfriend and I eat here often and it's never above $40. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend this place.

Barely noticeable in the plaza corner where it is nestled. In fact, I have been to this plaza numerous time my whole life and, had it not been for my best friend, I would have continued to be ignorant of it's existence. I'm so glad he brought here for dinner last week. The Awesome Roll lives up to it's name. You'd better try it, because it's so flavorful. They aren't only a sushi restaurant. Chinese and Thai are also represented, though I didn't try anything from those menus except the spring rolls (which are great, btw). The beer is cheap and they have 2 or 3 tv's set on ESPN. Definitely a place I want to come to watch a game while I stuff myself with Awesome Rolls.

Alright so I just came back from this place...again. Basically, if I could give it 6 stars, I would. The service was better than any time we've ever gone. Our waitor was very friendly and helpful. Again, what I love about this place is that its not fancy, so you can go in here looking like whatever and just have some amazing food. We tried a couple of different things this time: Wakame salad: DELICIOUS and fresh. But it's a VERY small portion and its 5.25; they should give a little more. For sushi, we had The awesome roll and the JB tempura roll, of course. The awesome roll was an orgasm in my mouth. It was topped spicy mayo, scallops, crab and tempura flakes. OMG, we seriously couldn't get over how good it was. The JB tempura rolls was amazing as always. In addition to that, we decided we wanted to try some Thai, so we tried the pad thai with chicken and shrimp and the shrimp curry. The shrimp curry was delicious, you can get it at 1 1-5 range of spiciness, 5 being the spiciest. We got it at a 4 and it was just a tad too spicy, next time we'll get a 3. But the pad Thai, OMG the PAD THAI! had a delicious peanuty flavor and is sprinkled with crushed peanuts on top. It was hands down the best I've ever had. I am so in love with this place.

I have to say that this establishment has really stepped it up and earned these four stars as of late. They've expanded their menu and the quality has improved across the board. I'd go as far as to say that they offer the best Chinese food in the nearby area outside of Kon Chau and Tropical, and that isn't even their specialty!

  • David G.

It may seem like a little quaint sushi joint, but it was surprisingly expensive. The sushi was all ok, but we didn't eat that much and ended up spending $80 for 2 people. This place nickel and dimes you for everything. Each refill of eel sauce, spicy mayo, etc. we were charged $1 each for. I respectfully told the waitress that we were not informed there were charges for each thing, but that we would have appreciated it if she told us ahead of time. She said, "Ok". Anyway, we won't be back.

I come here all the time and I can't get enough of it! Their fried rice is amazing, Their sushi is great, and the waiters are fast and friendly. The sushi chef is really nice and got to talk to him and found that he has been making sushi for decades, so you know he's got it down to perfection! They have a big variety in Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes. I love how they have an area apart from the normal tables where you can sit at a floor level table in traditional style and eat like they do in Asian cultures. Its really cool and unique. They have a huge HD tv to watch the game, and the decorations in the restaurant are very nice and not overdone. It is overall a great restaurant with great prices, amazing food, and great people. You HAVE TO check it out!!!!

Didn't want to spend a lot of money and decided to try a small local place. The place looks a little rundown and small ,air conditioning wasn't working so well. I did not have high hopes for this place but when our waiter brought our appetizer boy was I wrong. We had the tuna tartare gator roll and Florida Panthers roll to begin . It was so good we had to order the amazing roll and it was amazing! I'm giving this place four out of five stars only because it looks rundown but the food is amazing. I will definitely be back and will recommend this place to every sushi lover.

LOVE Kamwah !!! Menu consist of Thai, Japanese and Chinese entrees. Favorite rolls are red dragon, awesome and spicy tuna hand roll made with spicy sauce. When you have the awesome roll you will understand why its called awesome because when we finish it we always say that roll was AWESOME! Once in a while we order the thai-style fried rice with shrimp which is also great. Thai- donuts for dessert what more could you ask for. Sushi chef very accommodating with us and our children 4 and 6 yrs old. Staff is very friendly. Food is always fresh and service is excellent. Ample parking available

it's night time, it's rainy, i look like shit, i'm hungry, and in the mood for something quick, FRESH, and delicious....I order Kam Wah, a family favorite. It's a humble restaurant with modest prices and excellent food and friendly service! The truth is, the sushi here is way better than bonsai and sushi sake. And the other Asian cuisine, the Chinese and Thai dishes are wonderful too! *The Pad Thai here is lovely. This place is also special since I had my first sake bomb here. Kam Wah is good for couples, kids, or lonelys. I've honestly never been disappointed with anything on the menu. It's really just a great restaurant all around. and lucky me! it's right in the hood.

this is a VERY unsuspecting little place, right behind a seafood restaurant in a plaza just off of bird and 127th- there's even an autoparts place in the vicinity. I have lived in Miami for many years searching for delicious fried rice, perfected, crunchy, honey chicken, crab and cream cheese wontons. this place has it all. a great menu of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai specialities-the portions are very generous and do tend to get a bit pricey when you start looking at the more delicacy based dishes on the Japanese and Thai menu. Again, take out is available and everything really is cooked to order. I WISH they had delivery!

The only reason I took off one star is that I like the huge restaurant rolls but that is personal preference. Other than that the food was good and price reasonable. I would hit this place up again.

This is a decent hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Never too busy and they are pretty quick with the order. The vegetable sushi was good but not great. The food is definitely not bad but it isn't to die for. I'll keep on coming to this place because it's convenient and close to my house, but there are better restaurants with cheaper prices.

  • Stephanie L.

I came here because I was in the area and saw it had great ratings. While the waitstaff was incredibly nice and attentive, the food was marginal. We had fried wontons with cream cheese and they were ok. They were a little soggy from the oil and the dipping sauce was really sweet. My boyfriend didn't like them so I had most of them. They were just alright. His seaweed salad was pretty delicious but my salad was also just "alright". I got a green salad with ginger dressing. The dressing was way too sweet. We got a couple of sushi rolls. The rice didn't really taste like anything and it certainly wasn't the best sushi I've ever had, but the fish was fresh and tasty. Overall, I'd say the Japanese food was just ok. Next time maybe I'll just stick with the Thai or Chinese menu.

MMMMMMMMMM......Calamari!!! I have been here a few times and have had a great experience all the times. This is lil hole in the wall located in Kendall. It was like finding a lil gem of a restaurant!!! From the calamari to the won ton soup to the sushi rolls and chinese food there is such a selection of food to have that you need to come many times to savor all what Kam Wah has to offer. I look forward to my next visit and will be bringing guests so get ready Kam Wah.

  • Valerie G.

Ok so I recently came here after reading all the rave reviews and I did NOT regret it! I mean, come on, Thai, Japanese and Chinese cuisine all in one place, what's not to love?? Unfortunately, I didn't try the Chinese or Thai menus but the sushi was phenomenal! The Awesome Roll is awesome, as advertised (though I had it sans eel sauce and with soy sauce instead.) The Miami Heat roll, which I did not order but had a few bites of was also very good. Perfect tempura ratio and temperature and overall delicious. Finally, my very favorite dish was the Tuna on Fire Roll. I love spicy food and a simple but delicious spicy tuna roll will generally make a happy gal. I'm very picky with my spicy tuna rolls because they're my safety go-to roll so if you can't do that right, I'm not sure there's much hope left. I was torn between playing it safe and getting the spicy tuna roll or going out on a limb and getting the tuna on fire roll but eventually opted for the latter and was thoroughly pleased with my choice. If you like spicy, this is the roll for you! Definitely one of the spiciest rolls I've ever tasted and just overall delicious. Simple, flavorful and fresh, these sushi rolls are to die for!

Menu had Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Vietnamese food. I should have known better to eat there for dinner. The place was pricey, price was not the issue as long it tastes good, They also tack on the 18% gratuity on your bill. Bottom line it was a waste of money. Ended up eating again later that night when we got to Fort Lauderdale.

This place seems like it isn't much, but it is honestly so wonderful. The atmosphere is light, and i live less than a mile from this place and my family and i are regulars here. If i come by myself, they will ask how my family is doing. The sushi is the BEST I've ever had. I can honestly say it is probably the best sushi, and best service you can get down bird road.

You would never imagine how good the food is by just walking by. The Honey Chicken was the Best Ever, juicy inside and crispy/crunchy outside. The young lady that took care of us was very sweet and attentive.

I really love this place! It has a very cozy and family friendly environment. Our waitress was very patient with us since this restaurant has Chinese, Thai and sushi! So it was hard to choose what to eat! We ordered an egg roll, special fried rice, hot and sour soup, and sweet and sour chicken. The Thai tea was delicious! Everything was made fresh and it tasted amazing! Im definitely coming back!

  • Samy F.

This place is small and in a very old and shady plaza. The inside of the restaurant is kind of dark. I guess you could say the lights were very dim. The service was decent, obviously because the place was so tiny. The menu does not say anything about what kind of drinks/beverages they have, you must ask the server. The main problem I had was with the food. We ordered two sushi rolls and the chicken and shrimp pad thai. I told the waitress that I wanted the pad thai to be 1 star when it came to the spiciness (they have a scale of 1 to 5 stars for how spicy you want your food). First problem, the two sushi rolls we got were like $8.50 and each had like 6 pieces. I mean seriously, 6 pieces for $8.50? Even Publix sushi gives me more sushi for that price. Plus, the sushi was not good. The rice was like a paste, you couldn't even see the shape of any grain of rice. The filling inside was not good either. Second problem, the pad thai with 1 star spiciness was very very spicy. It was so spicy that my lips were hurting. And it wasn't the good savory kind of spicy, it was the type of spiciness that hurts. And finally, the pad thai was like $12.50 and did not come with much. The portion was small compared to what I normally get at other restaurants. Third problem, the cleanliness of the restaurant. There was an ant crawling on my utensils and the soy sauce bottles were sticky. The verdict is that it is not worth coming here. I left hungry and went home to eat leftover Chick-fil-A chicken and waffle fries.

Delicious and affordable sushi spot! Came here on a late night crave for sushi and was not disappointed. Sat on the cool little stage area where there are no shoes allowed and you sit on pillows on the floor, felt very authentic. (There are normal chairs and tables as well) Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the plaza is a bit sketchy looking at night and also, one of the rolls my boyfriend ordered that had eel had a piece of spine and he choked up a bit, so just be aware. Overall, if you're in the mood for cheap and good sushi, kam wah is great.

We came here because of all the great reviews but I did not like this place. We started with salads. I had ginger husband had peanut sauce. Both dressings were weird tasting and not in a good way. Next we tried a couple of rolls. JB roll and I can't remember the other. The rolls were not good. The fish did not taste fresh and they were not put together as expected. The service was very strange as well. We just had a weird vibe the whole time. We left hungry after the 2 rolls because we were not interested in trying anything else. This kind of seems like a place that is trying to do too many things/styles but is not doing any of them particularly well. Disappointing.

What would I do without Yelp when I drive around town in neighborhoods completely unknown? You could call Kam Wah a hidden gem, serving fresh food with friendly service. The windows are completely covered with bamboo blinds from the outside, so you can't see inside at all. You step inside into this warm inviting place with dark wood, burgundy walls and beautiful Thai art. The best part- an elevated area with traditional floor seating. Several TVs streaming college games at a low volume. The menu is well organized into Thai, Japanese and Chinese appetizers, rice, noodles, veggies, meats, chicken, seafood and sushi. I'd say $30+ for lunch is not exactly cheap but I did sample a number of items and take some food home. The best thing about the Thai salad is the peanut dressing, including chunks of peanut. The California eel roll was very nice for under $10. Just enough rice to hold it together (I hate it when the rolls are all rice) and a generous portion of BBQ eel on top. Tempura tofu appetizer is a nice deal for under $5. Comes out steaming, the crust is light, it's not oily and it looks pretty. I made it an entree by ordering a side of steamed veggies. The side was huge, enough to share. Be warned they don't season the veggies at all, they are purely steamed, which I appreciated. I used my tempura dipping sauce to add a bit of flavor. I was very tempted to try the fried oreos with ice-cream just because it sounds so wrong but I went the safe route with fried bananas. Once again, sweet ripe bananas covered in tempura batter, topped with ice cream, can't go wrong with that. This might be a regular spot for me if it weren't half way in the Everglades.

After reading the raving reviews and being practically begged to go by our friends, we decided to accept their invitation to dine at Kam Wah. I honestly think we must have picked the absolute worst items on the menu! We ordered the 3 way Roll, which was supposed to be a glorified volcano roll (and $13 as opposed to $9). However, we also ordered a volcano roll and guess what? It was the SAME EXACT ROLL!! Not a single visible or tastable difference! We also ordered a dragon roll (another $13 roll) that tasted like pure ketchup. It was disgusting. Not to mention both rolls were itty bitty. I left starving, unsatisfied, and sincerely grossed out. My friend's dish if fried rice look okay. I didn't try it. They were really embarrassed by how horrible the sushi was, so maybe we will give it another chance and only order from the Thai menu.

So I was searching for a good sushi place close to home and stumbled upon this hidden gem. I gotta say after reading the good reviews I had pretty high expectations. And boy did this place hit the spot! I tried the millennium roll which was delish and the french roll which was pretty damn tasty too... I couldn't pick which one I liked better (now I have to go back and try them again hehehe). The service was good and the lady who served us was friendly. The atmosphere could use some updating but that's just me being hyper-critical. Once you start eating you won't even mind. I definitely think I found my close to home go-to sushi place! (:

The absolute only reason this hole-in-the-wall sushi place (gem) doesn't get 5 stars is because of the sometimes-slow service. Otherwise, it's a definite 5 stars every time. I discovered this place before it became all the rage and the secret got out (pre-2006). Since then, it was been my absolute favorite place for sushi (rolls). The best rolls to get are the 3-Way Roll and Volcano Roll. If you love baked seafood on top of your rolls, these are the way to go. I like the 3-Way Roll the best because it's like a Volcano roll with sweet eel sauce on top. Perfection. For appetizers I definitely recommends the tuna tataki and egg drop soup. This place also has some of the best chicken pad thai, ever. One thing I really like about the way they do their rolls here is that they're not monstrous in size. I hate when I have to take 2 bites out of my roll or struggle getting it all in my mouth while having it fall apart. The rolls here are smaller and perfectly tight. Dessert - thai donuts. Don't leave here without them. Perfectly made with sweet condensed milk on the side. If I didn't live much farther away from this place, I'd definitely be going at least once a week to fulfill my sushi cravings!

I thought it was a great restaurant based on the 4-star average reviews, but it is not that good. We ordered a fried thai noodles, house steak, Miami heat roll, eel roll and other appetizers, so that we could try different styles of Asian food. Steak didn't taste like steak, more like boiled beef with soy sauce, the rolls had too much cream and the rice was hard, the fried crystal noodles was salty. If you want good Asian food, I won't recommend this one.

This is right around the corner of my house. It's a great go to sushi and Thai place. Really cozy and they just couldn't be sweeter. I always get the awesome roll bc it's just awesome. And the sashimi is very fresh. Best sushi place in my area:))

First time.when I came in I felt unsure. No one was inside of the restaurant. But it was only 30 minutes after they opened. Everything was delicious. I had the Florida Panther roll and red dragon. Perfect and fresh. I really liked that it wasn't those massive pieces, you get at other sushi spots. I definitely will come again.

Hole in the wall but best sushi place in the area. The Florida gator roll and the awesome roll are delicious. Sushi is always fresh and I have never had a bad experience either dining in or ordering out.

Let me start by saying...If you are going to have a fish tank inside of a sushi place, please make sure it is spotless. We are planning to eat raw fish very shortly, and the image of a dirty fish, isn't the most appetizing. Upon entering you will notice a fish tank directly in front of you that is filthy. How neither of us said "lets get out of here" is mind blowing. We took our seats and ordered. Never talking about the fish tank till we left and my wife tells me: "Man, they need to clean that tank!" I laughed hysterically in the parking lot, because I too felt the same way.... Anyways...back to the food! We ordered four rolls. JB - A very basic roll that we usually get everywhere. If you can't make this really good, the more complex things are bound to be a disaster. It was great - Not too much Tuna (which I like), just right amount of cream cheese. California - Another very basic roll but they make it very good. Light, refreshing, tasty. Heaven - This roll is with cucumber instead of seaweed. It was different. Comes in a sauce, that was tasty, but not my favorite. Spicy Tuna - This has a kick too it! Almost too much kick...but I have been on high on spicy food lately so it was good! Salmon roll that has this red, spicy (duh) sauce over the top. Really good - and large. The waitress was extremely attentive and continuously filled our water cup - especially after the spicy tuna came out...I was drinking a good amount at that point! Never had to ask, she was always there. It is very reasonably priced for the amount of food you can get. They had some other interesting rolls on the menu that I look forward to trying.

I've been here a few times already. Every meal has been good. Nothing too out of this world but definitely good enough for me to keep coming back. This place is conveniently close by to my boyfriend's place which is why we keep stopping by here. They have Thai, Japanese and I believe Chinese food as well. I've had the Pad Woon Sen and then several sushi rolls and sashimi. The food has always been good, no complaints here. We always get really nice service too. We will definitely be back!

No longer able to sit "tatami" style. Menu is much smaller and the fare is not what it once was.

Great, fresh seafood without the craziness of the more popular franchise options! You can't go wrong with anything here!! Their egg drop soup and avocado salad are some of my faves. Kids love this place too, especially since they can sit on the floor and take off their shoes :)

Ok, so I've been on Yelp for probably 15 months now and when I first got on, I would see people check in to Kam Wah so I bookmarked to check out. Probably about 6 months ago is when I finally checked it out. Kam Wah is kinda Asian fusion. Thai, Chinese, and Sushi. It's a small restaurant in the corner of a shopping center behind Don Fernando's seafood. I highly recommend to check it out if you have a craving for Asian and your in the West Kendall Area ( Bird road west of turnpike and 127 ave). I've had everything from the Sushi, rice and ramen noodles, it's all good. You just have to remember it's a small mom/pop restaurant so sometimes they are slow especially if there are a few people there but it's well worth the wait!.

What an amazing little place. I've been coming to this restaurant for like a year now and what delicious good every single time. No disappointment. Very consistent like I said. You can't go wrong with any plate you order, literally. The place is family own and they are very nice and helpful people; extremely sweet. The food quality cannot be compare to this expensive sushi place; it's way better than other pricy place. Their crab is real crab meat not synthetic like most chick places. You have to try their Thai donuts, millennium roll, shrimp shumai, Florida Panther roll, amazing roll, any of their appetizers, their fried rice, etc. Give it a try, you won't regret it!!!

Good quality sushi/sashimi, very fresh. Customer service is very good. Will go back because it's the closest quality sushi place to my house. I also like that they are open late during the week. If it's late and you want something lite this is one if the few options in the neighborhood and they don't make you feel bad when you walk in late and there is no one there and they still give you high quality fresh food. I only wish they were open on Mondays.

I've lived in the area for years and have driven by this whole in the wall countless times, but thanks to Yelp we ate there tonight. Our fellow Yelpers did not disappoint. The "Awesome Roll" was well- awesome but my husband and I both l agree that the Florida Gator Roll was the better choice. We also tried the pad Thai and it was very tasty. I am giving this restaurant 4 stars because for me the price per roll was a little ridiculous at about $14/ roll. The sushi was good but at that price we probably won't be regulars.

Great family operated, neighborhood restaurant for sushi. The place is nicely decorated and very clean. The service is attentive and the waitress is always smiling. The sushi is amongst the best I've had and this includes Shibui, NAOE, Miyako, Akashi, and Matsuri. This is a Hall of Fame list of sushi restaurants by the way. I recommend the Lobster Dragon, Florida Gator, and Awesome Rolls. A nice surprise was the wine prices. You can't beat $16 for a bottle of good white wine to accompany your sushi at a restaurant. Try the egg rolls as an appetizer and the fried ice cream for dessert and you've just had yourself one mighty fine meal.

This place is a treasure trove of authentic Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine rolled into one. My journey here took place because my friend and I needed a new place to satisfy her pad thai cravings, so we just hopped onto Yelp, entered a search, and saw this review boasting 4.5 stars. Let me tell you that it is hard to hold a 4.5 star ranking, especially with over 30 reviews, so my friend and I felt the urge to hop into her Corolla and drive here for dinner. What did we have to lose? We found out that the restaurant was located at the shopping center we also pass by on our way to the Turnpike, so as we parked, we wondered if we really wanted to eat here. Good thing we didn't listen to our instincts because although this place is located at a really random shopping center, the service is on-point, and the food is delicious. The servers welcomed us and sat us at the best seat available. They always made sure that we were satisfied and that our water glasses were always filled to the brim. I felt like a part of their family. For dinner, I ordered their duck pho. The meat was tender. The vegetables were aplenty. The soup was flavorful, and the noodles were the right portion. For those who don't know, pho is my favorite Vietnamese dish ever. It's a popular street dish in Vietnam that consists of broth, noodles, and meat. They give you a huge plate of veggies, and you can stick as much greens as you want. At Kam Wah, they offer you authentic and fresh veggies. Also, the sauces that are on the table are spicy, so beware because after a few pinches of chili pepper and a few drops of red sauce, your food might be unable to eat, but if you like spice go ahead! It is delicious and a culinary experience, after all. My friend ordered appetizers of pad thai and gyoza which were done in only 10 minutes. I wish they had brought everything together at once because they brought my food 10 minutes afterwards, and by the time I had my food, my friend was done. FYI, their appetizers looked good, taste good, and come in good portions. Overall, I would highly recommend anyone to eat here. Their prices are affordable (my pho was only $12), and everything is delicious.

There was a cockroach on the ceiling! The waitress noticed and she went running to the kitchen, 5 minutes later she came back like nothing happened. They didn't even apologize or try to remove it! It could have fallen into somebody's food! Food is ok but I don't want to think what it comes with. Nevermore!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
