Great atmosphere, service was excellent and an excellent array of wine and full bar options. The food was good. We had the caprese salad with prosciutto ham (excellent), muscles (meh, slightly overcooked) she had the ribeye (which she loved) and I had the Sirloin which was good. Both served with potatoes and green beans. Tiramisu and Pear Tart were ok. All in all I would give this place a 3 star, but I will go back since its an Italian cafe, not a steak place. The service was great, did I mention that? Valet should be complimentary (or work its way into the cost of the meals) since parking is either street parking of valet. Attendants were courteous and efficient.

Mixed review. Service very slow but friendly. Vibe awesome. Food pretty good as evening went on. Bread was hard as rock and appetizers took FOREVER. But the scallops were worth the wait. The Caprese salad was odd, felt like it was just thrown together. The entrees we chose were gnocchi and tortellini were great!!!! 3 stars because although satisfying nothing was out of this world.

We checked this place out last night on a whim because my girlfriend had a groupon. We tried the octopus appetizer. It had some sort of balsamic type of a glaze and came with artichokes. It was tasty and kind of melted in your mouth. We also had the burrata appetizer special. Not the best burrata I've had but it was paired well with tomato, prosciutto, artichoke, and these onions with a balsamic glaze. I almost wished they had olives too. Last we shared the mushroom ravioli special that was raved about below. If I recall correctly, it had truffle oil in there somewhere and small pieces of eggplant. It was disappointing after the review we read but it was good. My friend Lisa thought it had a bit too much garlic. I was most frustrated by the service. Our waitress was not very attentive, especially when it came to bringing us the bill. If your table asks you for the bill, don't dawdle in bringing it. It means they are ready to leave. And then once you bring it, don't take more than 15 minutes to come back. I had to bring it inside where I found our waitress stuffing her face behind the bar. I totally understand eating at work, especially since it was late. But not when it causes you to neglect your tables. It was late and I was on the verge of falling asleep. All in all, I'd give it another shot but won't add it to my list of favorite Miami restaurants.

Went here for a friends party. Left with mixed feelings. The service initially started off well but kind of tapered off. Our water weren't refilled for a while and the complimentary bread came out late and stale. I guess they are known for their artisan pizzas so I ordered to share with a friend. I got the carbonara which has asparagus, ham, and egg. Pretty different but I was open to it. When it came it looked good. But looks are deceiving...I like thin crust pizzas but this was like non existent crust...you could barely hold a slice up and don't get me wrong I've had the most amazing thing crust pizzas in nyc and this didnt come close. You couldn't pick up the slice bc a giant whole stem of asparagus would weigh it down...sure it looks pretty but im not hanging it up im trying to have a good experience. The ham was so salty and really didnt look like anything fresh. I tried my friends house special lobster ravioli which didn't taste much like ravioli but more cheese and her chocolate dessert which everyone had one bite and thats basically all they wanted. Overall, its a nice looking place and has potential but needs needs some polish to get a 4 star +

Went to joeys on a late Saturday night after kitchen was closed everywhere else. They were awesome! They sat us immediately and gave us great service. The cocktails were good and the atmosphere better. Will definitely be visiting again!

Went Monday night for the first time in awhile and while the food was great as usual, the service was HORRIBLE. I was at a table of 3 and we were barely paid any attention to. I think I saw the waiter literally twice for the entire meal, which is unacceptable. He was (of course) too busy but showed plenty of love to a large table of 8 right next to us. We were never brought any bread and had to actually ask for it. When we finished our meal, we had to wait 20 minutes just to even get a dessert menu and had to ask the runner to get it for us. We decided to forego dessert and move along instead of undergoing another ridiculous wait. Will not be back anytime soon.

Pizza was ok, with nice flavor but waaaay too crispy. Weird staff. Our waitress was like a robot. Not one smile came out of her the whole time. Specials were very expensive. Service was poor and food took forever to arrive. When it did, it was cold. Area is ugly and dangerous. Not worth the trip.

My boyfriend and I decided to go here for Art Walk - Parking gets crowded so we thought we would start off eating here then walking around. They have tons of choices from Pizza, Pasta, Chicken, Steak and more - We opted for the thin crust wheat Vegetarian Pizza. It was cooked just perfect, there were so many vegi's it was almost like Meat. The cheese melted perfectly with a perfect bite of thin crust pizza - my oh so favorite, where you get your craving out of the way with little carbs and calories :) The place inside gets a little loud since it's a bit tiny but they even have outside seating if it's nice and cool out. I will definitely try this place again, maybe next time pasta?

One of the first spots to ever open in Wynwood and a true staple to the neighborhood. Excellent pizza and salads.

Really liked this restaurant. The decor is modern and in the outside seating area the lights make it look nice. The food was great. I had gnocchi with pink sauce while my friends ordered spaghetti, margaraita pizza & pasta that looked like straganoff. The service was superb. Food was quick. Our server informed us of the specials and it seemed like a whole nother menu when she was done speaking. The bread was good too, I think it was either focaccia or ciabatta. All in all, a good nightcap.

A lot has been said about Joey's so I will be short and sweet. 5 stars for the amazing sweet and spicy pizza but 3 stars for the fatty short ribs& the ok osso bucco and no stars for the weird fig dessert that didn't taste like figs. Skip the specials and go for the pizza!

Good, not great. We had the lobster ravioli (special for the night) and spaghetti alle vongole- both were fine. The service was good. I'm not rushing back, but would not oppose a second go. I would try the pizza next time.

There are an awful lot of reviews here, so I will keep it short and sweet. This is one of our go-tos in Miami. We have brought friends, gone solo, and came with large parties. We have never had a bad experience, nor have ever had a bad meal. The service is excellent, the ambiance good, and food is outstanding. The only thing I don't like about the place is the bullshit illegal valet out front that reduces the amount decent parking spots, but whatever, the restaurant is great.

I was taken here for my birthday in July of last year, and the food was truly amazing. They had a fresh sardine appetizer that was so good, we had to order a second one. I have never seen this on any other MIami restaurant menu. I then had the Branzino as my entree and it too was excellent. If you're planning to have dinner before going to see anything at the Adrian Arsht Center, this is the ideal place to go.

We went for a late Saturday lunch and were surprised to find only a few other people in the restaurant at that time. I think it was so sparsely crowded because most of the galleries seemed to be closed even though they advertise that they are open on Saturdays. It was a hot and muggy day so we ate inside. The room is small, modern and minimally decorated. The major design elements are the open kitchen and an oversized tile mosaic mural of the head of a Roman statue. Unfortunately the half wall around the open kitchen is too high to allow much of a view into the kitchen unless you are standing. I think we were lucky that there were so few people in the room, it seems like the type of room that would be very loud when full, there wasn't a sound absorbent material in sight. Now, if you are going to pretend to run a red sauce Italian joint, even one with pretensions, you should at least be able to make a decent red sauce. The basic spaghetti with tomato sauce is not only unremarkable but it is just trying too hard and failing so short. Cherry tomatoes in a red sauce? For what reason on earth? After the experience with the pasta and the tasteless cardboard bread that they served, I didn't hold out much hope for anything else. The meat and cheese platter was half good, the meat half. The cheese looked like it came from a Publix deli platter. Who cuts cheese in little cubes? The sardines were good. The jumbo shrimp with lentils were not jumbo shrimp, they were more in the langoustine family. I would imagine that any good restaurateur would want to advertise langoustines as they are much more exotic than jumbo shrimp. The lentils, while they were lentils, could have been pretty much any neutral, generic grain or bean as all taste had been extracted from them during cooking. This restaurant reminds me of Tony Goldman's (Joey's father) first restaurant in, I believe, the Park Central Hotel. It was one of the first restaurants in South Florida that had a menu with lots of adjectives used to describe each dish and each component of each dish. It was overreaching, with high aspirations and low delivery. It seems the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree.

I used to work on 25th and 1st. It's a cool spot that reminds me of NY, grimy and torn up buildings sit just a couple of blocks from luxury sky rises. Likewise, the neighborhood is full of art and creativity. Joey's is nestled right in the middle of it. The place is great. This time I'll start with the decor. I love the decor. It is trendy, creative, clean and tastefully put together. The waiter told me that the owner's wife decorated the place (with an interior designer I assume). Kudos to her. The food is excellent. I've been there twice for lunch and have never been disappointed (sat next to Jorge Perez on one of them). However, dinner is spectacular. My wife and I ordered the Turbot, a seasonal fish they import from the Mediterranean. It was spectacular. My wife is not a seafood lover, but she loved this dish. The service matches the food and ambiance, not too overwhelming, just right.

This is a great little place with all the major italian favorites. They are known for the brick oven pizzas. The salads here are good too. The meat sauce leaves a little to be desired and the service is just average.

Located in the middle of semi-gritty yet artsy design district, Joey's is a small 'upscale' yet laid-back Italian restaurant...perfect for a business lunch or simply a lunch date. Waiters in red are attentive and take initiative, we had breadcrumbs on our table and one of the bus boy wiped it clean so we could resume hand-fondling tabletop! The bossman came by to make sure we are taken care of when the lunch crowd trickled in. Food was thoughtfully prepared. Soup of the day was mushroom soup (vegan, no cream used but still creamy. Pureed consistency), served with olive oil drizzled in a smiley face. I recommend eating it with the bread; feel free to ask for more if you run out! Papardelle with crabmeat and mushroom was creamy yet subtle. Trofie (little corkscrew pasta) with meat sauce - WIN! Portions were huge for lunch, there was leftovers for dinner! Soup - $5 Entrees- $15 each I would come back here if I am in the area...enjoy! Tip-bits: Street parking available right outside Joey's Lunch menu available with decent portions Accommodations for big groups gladly made

I might like Joey's more if I were into wine -- apparently they've got really good wine. They don't have any good beer though. But what they most DEFINITELY have is a pizza made with figs and hot pepper and gorgonzola and honey, and I cry a little bit when I think of how incredibly good it is.

My friend and I went out to Joey's on a Wednesday night around 9:30PM. I called to check to see if they were open, and they were! They're open until 10:30 during the week. We ordered the much talked about fig pizza. It has figs, cheese, and honey on either a white or wheat crust. We opted for the wheat crust. It was good- not stellar, but good. The crust is thin and very crispy - a little harder around the edges than I prefer. The amount of honey was a bit of overkill. It made everything sticky. I think a smaller drizzle of honey would have been more appropriate for the pizza. Our last two pieces had been sitting in it, making for an interesting eating experience. Good thing this was only a dinner with a friend, not a business meeting or a date. I did like the combination of the flavors and I'd be interested in sampling some of their other pizzas. The service was ok. Not overly attentive, but not absent either. She dutifully read off over a dozen specials. I think a sheet passed around listing them or a chalkboard might have been better with a list that long. I like to be polite and pay attention, but come on. I came to chat with my friend and eat dinner not listen to a speech! The ambiance is great and is definitely what bumps the review from a 3 to a 4. It's in Wynwood, which is close to where I live. It's easy to park, and once inside it feels like a different world. Almost all of the diners were seated outside under two of the hugest umbrellas I've ever seen. They have large hedges decorated with lights that completely block the street and the adjacent galleries and warehouses. The price was also right. We shared the pizza, which was $14. I'm not sure of too many other nice restaurants where you can get dinner for $7. It could get pricey if you add on wine, apps, or some of their larger plates. For me and my friend, splitting the pizza was just right.

The Bad: Had to take another seat as there where flys buzzing around my head near the window. My expresso china had chips in it (not a biggy but don't think that a restaurant should be serving on broken china) The Good: Had a past dish of Tortolleni and Mushrooms. The waiter said that the $7 dish was more like a Tapa, so I went with the larger size. I was still hungry. The pasta we very good though. The Place: Stylish and modern interior design. Small with an outdoor seating area. Conclusion: I can walk to this joint, and will probably go again, but not really sure how often.

My second visit here... A couple of months ago, I came out during Saturday walk.. and it was very good. This week, I decided to get lunch with a friend and since I knew he had never been here, I told him to try it. Service is good... got our water, bread, drinks and order rather speedy... For starters... I ordered the onion soup and my friend got the bruschetta.. Soup was more like a bisque.. goes for $6 and tasty but very small, by comparison I can get the seafood bisque at joe's for $8 and it's about twice the size... and that's for seafood, not onions ;) My friend got a baked bruschetta... interesting as I have never seen that.. he said it was good, but not what he was expecting nor what he wanted. Our food took FOR EVER... I got the lunch portion of the salmon and spinach ravioli... Very tasty.. but very small lol I think I got 5 raviolis, I guess it's my fault for always expecting meals to be American or Texan sized... well this one was very very European sized... Got offered dessert and the nice waiter told us to try the tiramisu, that it was best in town... So of course we tried it... best in town ? maybe in that block or maybe in midtown or maybe in wynwood.. but it was not much better than the one u can find at publix or any other place... and for $8 totally not worth it, I mean I can get a very very tasty and full meal at lemoni for that price! In short.. nice place, nice service, great tasting food.. skip the dessert, much much better desserts ( and good coffee ) at buena vista bakery which is 5 mins from that...

the chef at joey's is a very proud man for sure. this you can tell by his standards and his ever daring specials. i was enjoying prawns so much especially when i enjoyed the goodness of the head of the prawn. the chef saw me out the window and smiled knowing how much enjoyment i was having. great food and a really nice place to have a good meal.

let me start by saying that, it was during art walk, so it might be different at other times. that said, let's start. oh where to begin. went with a group of 5 and we got seated immediate. one of the girl order a pizza, with one side without cheese. the waiter told us that was fine. low and behold, the pizza came out with cheese everywhere - we tried sending it back and we were told it couldn't happen. we asked to see the manager and we got a bitch waiter, not cool. if you can't accommodate a simple request, then don't get bitchy. we decided to stay, since everywhere else was packed. the pizzas are delicious, but the service is ridiculous. horrible. finally, we asked for our checks, asked to have it divided by 5 and we got over charged. we told the waiter and again asked for a manager, no one came out. we had to walk inside and get it taken care off. the pizza was delicious, and to be honest, it wasn't that expensive. but dear good ol' joey, get better waiters, or else, you've lost a patron.

My review is very limited at this point, as I've only been able to sample their bar. But, I'm veeerrrrrry excited and looking forward to trying out this venue for dinner. Their pizzas and pastas look excellent and while the servers go kind of crazy tending to all their tables (especially on 2nd Saturdays), they got it covered. What I was able to try (a spectacular Cabernet Sauvignon) was great and I had a great time sitting in their very cute locale. Will be back shortly with a followup review...

Sleek, more than welcome in the area and much cheaper than I expected it to be. I want to keep it brief here because I can't say much about anything but the one little weird thing I ordered. I had an anchovy and capers pizza with no cheese and just a bunch of tomato sauce. It tasted perfectly weird and salty, the crust was paper thin and the tomato sauce was phenomenal. I seriously loved that little seven dollar pizza and would order it again in a heartbeat. The menu was curiously well rounded and I saw the couple next to us order a tabla of cheeses and meats that totally dwarfed the size of competing tablas and nearby spots (I'm talking about you Bin 18.) Prices are not half bad and the option to order half-dishes are certainly a plus - especially if you plan on eating apps and desserts. So again, while the menu certainly deserves a more careful inspection from me thus far - so far, so good. Welcome to the hood, Joey.

Really, this would be a 7/10 rating. I see that previous raters have given $$ but with a bottle of wine, add a third $ . I'll revise this later. A must have is the Dolce e Piccante pizza. Sat at the bar and service was excellent.

I went here today and was pleasantly surprised. The prices are very reasonable. The decor is modern. Very clean. Great service. The food is simple, yet very good. I had the salmon with lentils...it was delicious! The salmon had a little crisp to it and the lentils were a great addition. I'll be back!

Just spent 40 minutes waiting for a table... Had reservations which had been confirmed twice on the same day!!! There was a free table, but was not offered due to it being a 4 top and it was my wife and I...what an awful experience!!!!

Delicious. Dont get me wrong, I love traditional italian food but an extra edge is nice. I loved this place because the food was very italian but very creative. The pizza menu is extensive. From the classic margarita to the joey pizza which has salami, tuna, and capers. The baked rigatoni was not amazing. The pizza is the way to go. Nice ambience outside and great service. Good wines. If you are checking out the gallery walk this is a good stopping point in the area.

One of my favorite things about the Design District are all the hidden gems you can find within a relatively bad neighborhood. Joey's is in fact one of those gems. I came here for dinner on a Friday night and was seated promptly by our great waiter, Tommy. My favorite trend in Italian restaurants that I've seen lately is the option to get a "small" or "regular" sized portion of entrees. Sooo anti-Cheesecake Factory. :) I ordered a small plate of shell-shaped pasta with marinara sauce. I love the basics, and they do it well. My boyfriend ordered a pizza for himself with sardines and no cheese. I loathe sardines, but he said it was absolutely amazing. Do note that the pizzas are a tad too big for one person, while probably not enough for two. At least you'll have some delicious left-overs to munch on after a night of boozin'. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, with no complaints whatsoever. For dessert, we ordered an ice cream scoop of sheep's milk ricotta with strawberries and honey drizzled on top. It was honestly a very unusual taste to me, but everyone was digging it. Prices are really great and make you feel guilt-free. $7 for a pasta entree and $5 for a smaller portion of it. I love having the freedom to splurge on a bottle of wine or an extra appetizer. Joey is speaking my language here.

I've scoped this place out a few times during Art Walk but it's always been too slammed on those nights to go. This past weekend I went with some friends and family and we all had really great meals. The entree selection was a little small, but their list of specials certainly makes up for it. I ordered one of the specials which was a ravioli type pasta stuffed with delicious veal, covered in a red meat sauce, and topped with a dollop of ricotta cheese. YUM! The restaurant had a lot more pizza options than I thought, and the desserts were awesome. The space was really nice, with comfortable seating and tables to accommodate large and small parties. They also have a really beautiful patio area. The only reason I am giving them four stars instead of five, is that their valet service took up about two blocks of parking in which they probably don't even have the legal rights to do so. I'll park my own car thank you.

Service was terrible! The waitress never came over to check on us, we had to flag her down to order drinks, check-in on our drinks when they didn't come after 20 minutes and then flag her down again to order our food. Then they didn't bring one guest's meal until after the rest of us finished eating. They admitted that they burned the risotto the first time they made the dish and had to re-do it; but barely an apology was said. It's unfortunate because the food was quite good but the service and lack of respect for customers made my experience terrible. Do not spend your evening, or money, at Joey's.

The day finally came! After years of wanting to try Joey's I made it happen, and I have to say I was incredibly pleased. The staff is friendly with just the right kind of italian pronunciation, but not the kind that corrects you rudely but instead, the kind kind with a giant smile. I had the small Tavolozza del Pittore Piccola ($16) with cacciatorini, piedmont trugole, and cabra al vino. The cheeses were nothing special but the presentation was so unique and simple you couldn't help but love it. There were mixed greens, walnuts with honey, figs and cheeses neatly arranged on a wooden artist pallet. Aside from our appetizer, I ordered Polipo ($12,) an octopus balsamic salad served with endive and artichoke. Very simple, exactly what it says, although it would be better with some kind of sauce that brings the flavors together rather than just have a bunch of each on three corners of the plate. My friend ordered a small creamy Tortelloni Funghi e Speck ($9), creamy tortellini with pieces of ham and mushroom in a light white sauce. All their daily specials sounded amazing and I will return to try one of their pizzas. A welcomed surprise was their tea. Their tea is a specialty blend from a brand I had not seen since I was in Bogota, Colombia. Overall, the simplicity of Joey's makes it even more special. You feel like youre in somebody's home rather than a fancy shmancy place. Nothing pretentious.

Last night was my first time at Joey's and I'm in LOVE. I'm not a lover of Italian food but Joeys is my new exception. Appetizers were good but save the space in your stomach for the main dishes because they are excellent! We tried the seafood gnocchi, which may sound like an odd combo but it is actually delicious. The Dolce E Piccante pizza was a dream, drizzled with honey and hot pepper, my personal fave. Service was phenomenal. I highly, highly recommend ;)

Straight forward, just what the "people" want Italian food restaurant. Thin crusty pizza. Good beef carpaccio. Pappardelle good, but needs some work in the seasoning department. Relaxed no fuzz ambiance. A good addition to the up and coming Wynwood area. PS: Free street parking!

Great italian food, no tourists, hidden in the Design District, fair price and small. What else do you need? I had salmon in a bed of lentils and I'm dying to come back for more.

I went there for lunch today and was decidedly unimpressed. Its not to say that the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The salad to start was ok, lots of little pearl onions. The main dish said it had ricotta cheese, but I didn't taste or see any - just some shredded cheese sprinkled on top. It wasnt't bad, but it was lacking any real flavor. The margherita pizza also wasn't bad but lacked pizazz. It was pretty greasy too. I would definitely head to Fratelli Lyon over this place if i was in the area. I would give it another try though once it has been open a little longer. The service wasn't all that bad. I sat at the bar and my water was constantly refilled and everything was taken care of nicely.

I went to Buena Vista Bistro and asked where I could get a decent pizza. The owner said she just found a great place called Joey's. Well her suggestion was fab-tastik! With wine and a Margherita pizza the bill came to less than $30! Didn't try anything else.

Another place that made it to my list very early on and took me a while to finally checkoff. It happened this week during Basel, so must admit that my experience may have been jaded with the combination of the Basel craziness. But they should have known better and prepared accordingly. To begin, I called earlier in the week and left a voicemail to see about a possible reservation for Friday night. I know, I know, but a call back to say it wasn't available wouldn't have killed them. But I got over it, was starving and didn't want to leave Wynwood--the energy of the neighborhood was fantastic (I saw another reviewer complained about the area: uh, what don't you get about a developing neighborhood???). When we got there I was pleasantly surprised to hear that it was about a 25 minute wait for 2 (this was around 830). To pass the time, since the bar was an impossibility, we stumbled upon Wynwood Walls (which was, well, irresistible) and came back about 20 minutes later to find out we had, apparently, been called "quite a while ago" and were removed from the list. One of the hostesses, who remained friendly despite being bombarded by patrons, suggested to move us up on the list as she remembered us coming in and apologized for the overestimated time. The other hostess, who appeared to be working at being a total witch, refused to help out. We had to come back several times to find out what was going on with the table after we were moved to the bottom of the list, it was getting annoying and we almost left when we decided to just stand by the hostess stand so they wouldn't forget about us. Within 2 minutes we had a table. Ugh. Whatever; I was excited to get a quaint table for two on the patio where I could still hear all the buzz coming off 2nd Ave. The waiter was quite prompt and brought out drinks quickly. I ordered the small rigatoni, Mr. Tall ordered the regular ravioli, and we started with the caprese bruschetta. The food was good, but that was it. The bruschetta was actually sub par; the mozza was melted--but that could have been my misread of the menu--and it tasted like the cheesy bread at Bazbeaux Pizza (pizza place in Indy) but not nearly as good. I was really glad I ordered the small on the rigatoni--plenty of food, but the large on the ravioli size was actually a bit on the small side. The food was enough to peak my interest to make me want to go back. But then, ugh, then!! The time it took to get the bill and get out of there was close to 45 minutes. Absolutely unacceptable for it to take 2 people 45 minutes?!?! We asked no less than 4 people to either bring our check or please find our waiter to bring the check. It appeared that the waiter was the ONLY one who could do anything with our bill. I've worked in restaurants, how hard is it to ask someone to drop a check to a table for you and help you out?!?! It seriously made me furious--I was trying to make it to The Stage to check a favorite band out, thank God the band was running a little behind too.

We have eaten here three times. The first two were wonderful. The pizza is terrific. Unfortunately, the third trip was marred by a not very helpful waitress. When I complained that the salad tasted very salty, she grudgingly brought us out another without dressing. No comment - nothing.

So my boss and I are heading back to Brickell from a meeting on Biscayne. We were driving down NW 2nd Avenue through the sketchy parts and he turns to me and says "Hey! Want to have lunch in the 'hood?!" Feeling adventurous I said "...sure!" He turns on 25th street and pulls into a back alley and parks there. I'm thinking "Crap, what did I just get myself into?" I thought to myself, at least there's a Bentley and a few other Benzes parked here. To my surprise, we walk into a brand-new, clean, modern Italian restaurant. Best of all, the place was packed! I was totally impressed and surprised. The appetizers and plates were really good. We started with a ham and cheese palette which came with ham, salami, cheese, dates, pecans and honey. The pasta I had was really good. It was a pappardelle with bolognese and bechamel sauce. It was excellent! My boss pointed-out that the owner (Joey Goldman) was eating at the table next to us, and is one of the main people trying to bring-up the Wynwood area with restaurants and the like. Which explains the restaurant's slogan "Here comes the neighborhood." If I'm ever in the area again during the day, I would definitely return for lunch. I still don't think I would go there for dinner, but that has no bearing on the restaurant itself.

Small, intimate restaurant with AMAZING thin crust gourmet pizza and super delish pasta dishes. I've been here twice and its so TASTY I crave this place regularly. My recommendations here are the Pizza Diavola and the Pappardelle Gratinate (Baked pappardelle with bolognese and béchamel sauce). You will be scraping the plate with these two dishes. I would definitely consider making reservations since its a small place.

Regretfully it is NOT what it use to be. Food is now mediocre at best, and the service friendly but in disarray. Don't waste your money at this restaurant.

Went to Joey's last night with hubby & friend. The place looks cool, the mural at the back of the restaurant is awesome. We each had a small bowl of pasta and shared a pizza. Most pasta dishes come in two sizes, small and large. I had the shell shaped pasta with basic Pomodoro sauce, it was very tasty and just enough food. My friend tried the tortellini and loved it. We shared the diavola pizza (spicy pepperoni) and that was great for sharing. The restaurant is tucked into the Wynwood district, which is a very up-and-coming neighborhood for the restaurant business. Although I'm not in a huge rush to go back, the food was good enough for me to return eventually.

I had been here before and had a relatively good experience - nothing much to pasta and sauce. I returned with a group of friends last night and the food was just not good. Everyone complained about their dish. I decided to go with their special for the night - Mussels in Marinara. Big mistake as at 2am I woke up sick as a dog with food poisoning! Not only will I never eat mussels again, I will never eat at Joey's.

I went to Joeys last night. They have complimentary valet which is nice considering the neighborhood. We didnt have reservations but they were able to seat us immediately. We chose to sit inside but maybe should have opted for outside. I just went with my husband but i noticed that 90% of the tables were groups so maybe this is better for a double date or birthday party. I liked the decor and the casual paper menus. They had 6 wines that were on special so we got a bottle of brunello for $70 that usually is $150 which was nice. They arent able to serve the wine until there is food on the table though, whcih was a bit awkward because it kind of forces you into a food choice earlier than ready. This is obviously not their fault, just some dumb Miami law but definitely a bit awkward. About five minutes after sitting down we realized that this is the nosiest restaurant in Miami. The ceilings and floors dont absorb any sound so you're literally yelling the entire night. I had to take one phone call and i couldnt hear anything they said. Definitely a downside. Food: I ordered an arugula, raddiccio and fennel salad, it came in small and large which i like. The salad wasnt seasoned and very plain. I saw a lot of tables get the meat and cheese platter which looked great but way too much for two people, will order that next time though! I had the lobster ravioli special. There were a few shells in the ravioli, i know that can happen with lobster but it wasnt very appetizing. The sauce on the ravioli was a tomato sauce and i liked it. My husband had a pizza and he really liked it. The bread was not good at all, looks like its made off location and just isnt a good indication of an italian restaurant. I will come back here but wont expect the food to be stellar.

I must say that the food was very good at this restaurant. I cannot give it a better rating because the service was so mediocre. Granted I was in a large party, but it seemed though we were doing them a big favor being there and giving them $500. I will give them another chance because everything the group had was really good, but beware.

Joey's has a nice and hip atmosphere. I've been here a couple of times and the food is pretty good. Joey's has a decent menu, but stick to pasta and pizza dishes. On different occasions I have had a Cornish hen and a steak dish at Joey's. I wasn't very impressed. However, I've tasted the pasta/pizza dishes others have ordered at my table and they were exquisite.

Went here for a late night dinner and was not disappointed. It is a good, good value for Miami, delicious food, and friendly service. I had the scallop special: 3 scallops with two polenta cake-thingies in a balsamic reduction, I think? At any rate, it was delicious. Other things at the table that looked and tasted delicious: broccoli rabe soup (a special of the evening), lobster ravioli, veal osso bucco. The portion size is good, not too big, not too small.

I learned of this restaurant while my ad agency was looking for a possible office rental space in the area. The real estate agent pointed it out and I've been dying to try it ever since. So, last night my fiancee and I ventured over to give it a try. Said fiancee was very skeptical about the neighborhood, but we were greeted at the door by the complimentary valet (aka: person that makes sure you get into the restaurant without being mugged). Our car never left the spot right in front of the restaurant where we parked it, so I think calling the service a "valet" might be a bit of a stretch. Our server was a super nice young gentleman and he took great care of us. The food was DELICIOUS! I started with the small $3 house salad (I had to order a food stuff in order to get a glass of wine) and it was fine. Then we ordered (and split) the Diavola pizza and the Baked Tagliatelle. MMMMMMMMM!!!! Both were exceptional! There were so many other items on the menu that we wanted to order, so I know we'll be back to give them the once over. The prices can't be beat for food this good. And my glass of Pinot Grigio (which was pretty tasty) was $7. Don't let your fear of the neighborhood get in the way of giving it a try... Highly recommended!

I had a very nice evening at Joey's. I definitely recommend you eat the pizza here, all are good I tried one with tuna this time and it was very different, but very good. Plenty for two people. The house red wine was very good also. The best thing of this place is the atmosphere (sit outside), and the service was a little hard to understand but good.

This place was great and the pizza was cooked to perfection! The service was good and although the location is a bit shady, once you are inside the restaurant you really forget about the fact that your blocks away from overtown. Green beans were delicious too. Definitely coming back!

Terrible service!!!!! Not only did we have to ask three times for our drinks (how hard is it to pour prosecco?!?) but then one person in our party didn't receive their meal at all. And the waitress never even checked to see that everyone in the table had their meals or was okay. Once we explained that one person's meal was missing, she then said it would arrive in four minutes. After which we had to ask for the manager because our entire table had finished eating and no sight of the last meal. Then the manager arrived with the meal to explain that the kitchen had burned the meal! There was barely an apology or anything done to remedy the situation. I will never return. Nor do I think anyone else should give this place their business.

The first time I went to Joey's everyone at my table was wowed that night with their choice of meals, I wasn't in the mood for a heavy dish and stuck to the margherita pizza and it was pretty good. The second time around I went to Joey's I got my WOW dish which was Pappardelle Gratinate the Bolognese and béchamel sauce were perfect couldn't have done it better myself! Order a bottle of one of their Prosecco's and you have a perfect meal!

Joey's is a terrific little spot and a great addition to the Wynwood area (which is a fabulous and exciting art district in Miami).....Welcome Joey's ! It's just what the neighborhood needs. I was part of a large party for dinner (we were 12) and the overall experience was very good. The service was attentive and the wine was excellent. Best of all the table was groaning with tasty and satisfying dishes. The stand-outs were the antipasto (excellent sliced meats and nibbles served on a board), a "Thea's Pizza" (that was a standout, when I go back for lunch, that will be my choice and I'll eat a whole pie myself), a baked or roasted fish which was tasty but not very attractivly filleted. A number of diners had the lambchops, yummy little things, they were splendid and bites were being shared up and down the table. There was a good ravioli in a creamy sauce and good salads too. The desserts however were just so-so, they were not special enough - lots of boring ice cream and a flat, dense cake, not my thing. I was looking for "thrill me with something chocolate" but it wasn't there. The space is nice but once again, my pet peeve is that a long table is not condusive to conversation. There should be at least one large round table for a big group of diners. The evening I was there it was too cool to sit outside but the patio looked very inviting and I'm looking forward dining out there next time....and yes, there will be a next time !

Nice place in a pretty shady neighborhood. Went for lunch and the place was super loud, plus the staff seemed to hover me like a bunch of hungry buzzards. Had a cuban sandwich which was very big and tasty. Will have to try the pizzas next time.

Food was good but nothing spectacular. Bad part of town but they have free valet service. I had the sea bass which I had to get de-boned. Fig panna Cotta was no big deal, actually pretty bad. Service was good and entertaining. Will go back soon only for the fig, honey and gorgonzola pizza we had as an appetizer!!!! This was amazing!

Just left Joey's. YUMMMMMM! Had the Dolce e Picante pizza with figs, gorgonzola cheese, and honey. AMAZING! Their crust is thin and cooked to perfection. I will be back!

Like the location, like the restaurant, ambiance and service. However food is just so-so. We started with the bucatini special with beef tenderloin and Italian gravy. Bucatini was cooked al dente the way I like it. Big chunks of tenderloin or so they say which was kind of like beef stew. Beef was not tender which for tenderloin and incorporated into this dish one would expect. Flavor of sauce was good. For main course had the $ 28 special which was the Kobe Beef Short Ribs with parmesan risotto. The short ribs also were not as tender as I typically find anywhere else. It was alright but that was it. Meat looked more like what Jews call flanken which had me perplexed. Risotto was flavorful. My wife had the chicken paillard which she said was good. With two glasses of "low grade" chianti (time to upgrade the choice of wines by the glass) and a pinot grigio (and no dessert). With tax and tip roughly $ 95. No reason to come back for us.

I took the girlfriend here because it was on Best of Miami as the best inexpensive Italian restaurant. Great service and atmosphere, although it is in a not too hot neighborhood. They do have security in the area and complimentary valet. Many well to do people eat here and the price is good relative to the high quality that you're getting just make sure to ask about the prices of their specials as we were hit with an $18 prosciutto and bufala mozzerella appetizer, which was delicious by the way, but just a little outside our comfort zone for an appetizer. My girlfriend had a spaghetti a la vongole that was so good that I forgot what I ordered. I've eaten a la vongole in Italy, and this is the closest to it I have found in the U.S.

I love that so many restaurants are popping up in this location. I have only dined here once, but my experience was deeeeelicious. The restaurant is small, but I love the decor and ambiance. The brick oven adds such a warm feeling to the restaurant. The hostess was friendly and greeted us politely and quickly. Our waiter was friendly and very well informed. We had one of the specials for an appetizer. It was a yummy mozzarella dish with an AMAZING pear/garlic jam. I even asked him to bring me the container it was in, so I could get the name. And when he brought it out, the table next to us flagged him down because they were wondering the same thing. For my entree I had ravioli with a red meat sauce. The sauce was great because it was not the usual ground beef meat sauce. It was made from shredded beef...yuuuuuummmmm! For dessert I had a soooo decadent molten chocolate cake with ice cream! I know some people may be afraid of this area. I felt 100 percent safe. There is complimentary valet for all the patrons. The area is well lit. Plenty of people dining. They also have police surveillance. Even though I have been here once, I've highly recommended it to family and friends. They share my same opinion! Its a definite MUST!

A warm and inviting place, located in an area that despite growing "cool factor," remains anything but...Upside: easy parking even without the free valet. Yes, free valet in Miami- it happens. Their Italian food is fresh, tasty and accessible in both flavor and price. I definitely look forward to next time.

I spent my childhood playing in my father's Italian restaurants so I rarely go out to eat Italian for fear of dissappointment. I simply invite myself over for dinner when I want Italian. I ordered the pasta pomodoro. My theory is that if an Italian restaurant cannot make a pasta pomodoro, why bother going back to try anything else on the menu. It was amazing! Fresh good quality tomatoes, olive oil, and pasta cooked perfectly. I started with the marinated sardines which was also very good. Wine list was easy to read and not overwhelming. Can't wait to go try other items on the menu. Can't wait to go back.

After anticipating a great experience based on a review in the New Times we were all [six of us] disappointed. Bottom line was the food and service. They got one order wrong resulting in one of us getting the entree when everyone else had finished. Another sent back her fish. My lamb was tough and measly portioned. The wine pours were scant and uneven. None of us would go back. Also, many of the other patrons there were that phony pretentious follow the herd type. Majorly mediocre.

I ate at Joey's for a second time 10/20/09. It was for a birthday and there were several other big groups there at the time. ONLY complaint: the inside gets noisy because of the cement floors, etc. But the place was full, lots people inside the small space and a packed outside area. But I love the feel of a lively dining room. On this visit valet was $3 fee, on my last visit it was complimentary. The valet guy is extremely nice and directed us to safe parking spots. The street lights are very bright and there is plenty of street parking. The first time I visited the restaurant it was a lovely experience, just like this time. I live in the Wynwood area and I love that the owners made the bold move to bring business into the area. I am also not afraid of the neighborhood so in my comfort, I am able to enjoy what really matters - service, food, and cost. I love that they keep prices reasonable because of, what I imagine, is cheaper rent. There are other restaurants in the area, like Soyka, that teeter on the verge of being overpriced. If an area has any chance of growing, it must be inviting. Too many places that are moving in aren't sensitive to that. It would serve them well to keep it in mind, it will only end up helping them in the end. I have ordered from the Specials menu everytime and tasted my friends' dishes as well. I'm a fan of Specials and am thankful that here, the prices for them are equal to a normal dish, or even cheaper. I am confident in telling you that all tortellini dishes are must-haves. Other pasta dishes are fantastic as well. The pizzas are delicious, but I'm not claiming it's the best in Miami. It's great that they give you size options because there are so many yummy things to try. All of the salads are delicious so make sure to order one with your meal. I also like to order the $3 bruschetta while I wait, although the bread they serve for free is great. Be sure to ask for it. We enjoyed a $30 bottle of wine on this occasion. Very reasonable. The service is always friendly. Also, their desserts are crowd-pleasers and the options vary every day. The gelato (especially the pistachio) is to-die-for and the peach tiramisu was especially rich. On Halloween they're doing an all-pumpkin menu and they're serving it in innovative ways. So, if you're in the area for a haunted house at one of the neighboring galleries, stop by. Happy Hallow's Eve!

I stopped by this sleek Wynwood eatery the other day and had a pizza (dolce e picante with figs, honey , gorgonzola and hot red pepper) and a few glasses of wine at the handsome granite bar. I definitely plan on coming back for dinner. The menu seems creative, the setting is very sexy with an open kitchen with wood oven, minimalistic dining room and outdoor patio. The staff and patrons are very hip. I am happy to see this artsy warehouse neighborhood maturing nicely.

I was disappointed with the margherita pizza that I ordered at Joeys. The crust was thin, crisp and praiseworthy, but there was far to much grease on the top of the pizza. There were no fresh tomatoes and the amount of sauce was so small that I felt like I was having a greasy cheese and crackers not pizza. The ratio of cheese to sauce and cheese to crust was just wrong. Too much cheese for the wafer thin crust and missing in action sauce. I was advised the cheese would be a mix of regular and buffalo mozzarella, it seemed like all or 95% regular mozzarella. Joey's serves Ice Tea from a bar gun rather than brewing Ice Tea. If it were up to me such practice would be illegal or at least punishable severe heckling. How can a restaurant buy spend a grand or two on a high end espresso maker and be to cheap get Ice tea brewing system. While I will be back to try the pasta, and their Fig, honey, walnut creation sounds interesting.... if you are looking for gourmet pizza, Spris, Andiamo, and Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza are all considerably better than Joey's.

Agree with Lara S review on the fig pizza, however on other occassions the menu has not let me down. The seared octopus and marinated sardines are my favorite. The lamb chops were perefctly cooked, the small portions are great if you ordered a couple of appetizers but was dissapointed with the steak, as it was a tab overcooked. Found parking around the corner and despite being a couple of minutes late, they had our table ready.

My friends & I came here last night for a promise of great food (and I was pretty confident after reading the yelps about this place!) but, I was a bit disappointed. First, the good news: The pizza with fig-it's yummy-- The pasta dishes that my friends ordered were good (very creamy cheese based)...bowtie with bacon, tortellini with mushroom & bacon. My other friend swears the steak was good...and she said she would come back (I didn't try the steak) More good news: I decided to try the misto salad-delish!! If you like figs & cheese...you'll like this salad. The bad news: For my main entree, I had the cod...no, no no...and everyone agreed with that...NO...don't order this. It tasted like diet food...that's the immediate descriptor that comes to mind. My sister had the salmon...no, no, no...it comes on a bed of lentils which were similiar to the lentils from a can (sorry!!) For dessert we had the gelato...it was good. But the BEST was the pear tart...DEF try this...this was worth the night! MMMMMMMMyyyyyy! Service was a little slow...but she was excellent and very attentive! I'll go back because I want to try thier lunch sandwiches...and the ambiance is super chill & so "not Miami."

Happen to drive by and decided to stop and support a new business in the arts district. The decor is simple, modern, and inviting (with outdoor seating available). They source many of their vegetables and fruits locally. The wine list is amazing! Some items on the menu I think are pricey but yet others were very reasonable. I had the salmon with lentils and it was awesome. I arrived at Noon and by 1pm the place was jumping. I definitely will eat here again.

Went to lunch at Joey's on a Friday. It was packed but we got lucky and found a table outside, which was perfect since it was a beautiful day in Miami. The food was delicious... I shared the salad with figs and walnuts, and the vegetarian pizza, and it was more than enough. I tried thw white dough but they have whole wheat available as well. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the service, but it was the Friday of Art Basel, so I'm hoping that was the reason why the service was not good. I'll definitely go back, but hopefully the service will be a little better next time. Definitely recommend the place... very nice atmosphere, full of energy and delicious food.

First time here on a friend's recommendation. Loved it, will definitely be back, with friends. What a great restaurant in Wynwood. Chef is formerly from Tiramisu/Lincoln Road. Food is excellent, service is great, modern decor, friendly staff, free valet parking. Totally different experience from Brandon B.'s pathetic review.

So after a hard days work and high expectations for a delicious dinner...I would rather cook at home. I felt sick after having the lobster ravioli special. It had a sauce which had fish chunks and canned asparagus. The filling of the ravioli tasted like it was also out of a can. Even the pasta itself was sticky and felt like it was cooked by a 5 year old. The flavor of the non-creamy sauce did not meld well at all with the flavor of the ravioli. I mean if I am going to splurge on an $18 plate of lobster ravioli, I better taste the sweetness of the lobster and the butteriness of the cream sauce over it. I want it to taste fattening and delicious since. My husband ordered the pappardelle gratinate which was supposed to have a bolognese and bechamel sauce. Now this sounded like a creamy delish dish...well it was not. No where close to that. The pasta was majorly overcooked and dry. Where's all the delicious, decadent sauce??? I don't believe in places where any of their dishes suck...and the two we had tonight did. They did offer brick oven pizza which is really hard to screw up, so if you go here, try the pizza and you might have a better experience.

ive heard about this place from friends but with 3 kids its not often we get a adult night out, This place it in the hood but it is worth the dodging the crack heads to get to it.. I love the fact that you can get half portions for the pasta. i had the tortellini with cream sauce and it was amazing just the right size and split a pizza with figs and honey. right doesnt sound good be i had 4 slices. and tried a slice of our friends. shit i think i had 7 before i stopped myself. 3 pizzas 4 beers and 2 wines $84 i will be going back once a week. but bring a gun and dont hang out by your car for too long. i suggest you valet.. its not that i dont like being hit up for crack money but Wynwood has awhile before its Midtown.. plus we had to bring our 7 month old and the waiters were super cool about it

So much of Miami and Miami Beach is filled with high priced "destination" restaurants. Joey's can be your destination, but it is not high priced. The staff is friendly and courteous. The food is tasty and the portions are reasonable. For those of you who think the world ends at the Design District or the Gables, do not listen to the voice on the GPS telling you to go back. There is life west of Miami Avenue.GO WEST! If you still feel a little weird, there is free valet parking in the evening. There is a weird quirk. You cannot order just a glass of wine. You MUST order food and they do not allow you to BYOB. No corkage fee! Nada! But come anyway. Bring friends. You will be surprised. Going again tonight.

The pizza is delicious, but the rest of the food is just ok and overpriced for what you get in ingredients and size, like the salads. The service is so not professional that makes me not to want to go again, not even for a pizza. It seems like all the waiters, barman and staff in general are, who I think is, the owner's friends and on a saturday afternoon, when there were only three tables occupied, all the staff was gathered and chatting, even looking and making fun of a table in the garden.... I even thought there was a tv behind me on the wall but there was not tv (miracously, because all restaurants seem to have to have one nowadays.) There were two hostesses, one seemed to be training the other, but both acted like new...none of them said good bye when we left. The staff obviously don't receive any training once they're hired. The place is located in a trendy area of the city where all the important galleries are and now it wants to become Soho, although it won't happen simply because the neighborhood won't allow this kind of transformation. For the same money I can eat a better food, be served professionally and be surrounded by a more pleasant neighborhood, somwhere else.

The food is incredible, they have a great variety of platters and non of them will disappoint you. I came on a Saturday and to my surprise it was really busy, which only means that business is going good for this guys. I encourage you to give it a try, they have super fresh ingredients and everything we order was perfectly cooked. This time I had the duck and boy was it good! It came with a side of potatoes that were perfectly roasted. My family had 2 different pastas and they were even better than what they look, which it was fabulous. Come and try Joey's it sure will please your palette.

Joey's was not horrible. I actually think this place has a lot of great qualities about it. It just doesn't stick out as a "memorable" dining experience the day I went. The section I was seated in was sub-zero freezing. It's kind of odd for me to complain about this, because I usually love the AC on blast in most situations, but this cold was extremely uncomfortable. Also me and my sister and brother-in-law sat waiting for a waiter to come serve us for a good couple of minutes. Not even a simple greeting or some ice waters. After about 15 minutes or so of just waiting, our server finally came. We were pretty hungry, and in a rush, so we put it on orders immediately. We started with the Mista salad to share. This salad was pretty damn good. Probably one of the best salads I had in a long while. It had huge generous portions of fresh gorgonzola cheese, this really light and savory honey mustard dressing, and a lot of nice plump golden figs. Then me and my sis shared the parma E fughi pizza. The parma pizza was very authentic, Italian style, and was actually pretty good. Was a great size to share between two people. I wish it had a little more garlic and tomato sauce (it was really dry.) I never thought I could say this....... but I felt it had way TOO much prosciutto. Yes, prosciutto is one of my favorite, fatty, guilty pleasures, but I was literally choking on some bites on how much they put on it each slice. Overall, the service could use a little boost. But the food seems generally good and worth checking it out for.

The ambiance is nice with a fair amount of outdoor seating. The bathrooms definitely needed a good cleaning though. What is shocking is even though the bathrooms needed a good cleaning, they had the audacity to have someone outside directing people and trying to collect tips. The prices here are high for what you get. Entrees average probably around $25.00, though for the portions they are $15.00 dishes. We started with the Fig, honey and hot pepper pizza, which my wife recommended (good recommendation). My wife got the lamb shank special, I got the Tagliatelle Rucola and our friends got a ravioli dish (daily special) and a chicken salsa verde dish. Aside from the pizza, only my wife was satisfied with her dish. My steak was undercooked. I asked for medium, but it came out as Medium Rare at best. The ravioli, which was $25-30, was a pathetic 2 ravioli. For dessert I got the Pineapple Panacotta and my wife got the Creme Brûlée. Both were just average, but my wife did enjoy hers. The service was average. The waiter was fairly attentive throughout the meal.

Good Italian food and decently priced. Great location and venue was modern and clean. The branzino was tasty and couldn't go wrong with pasta with garlic and olive oil. Wine was delicious and very reasonably priced. Oh and the chocolate cake was good too.

3.5+ stars. Loved their Spaghetti alle Vongole with mid neck clams, garlic white wine sauce. Clams were fresh and perfectly undercooked. Sauce wasn't overly rich -- pleasantly light and balanced with perfect amount of garlic. I asked for aldente and came perfectly (seldom perfect in a lot of places in Miami .. This Italian chef did it yay!) Roasted potatoes were nice. Homemade tiramisu was good... Tad creamier in texture than I like, and espresso wasn't dark enough. I don't usually like tiramisu so am very picky when I do eat it. But most folks will like this one a lot. Service was excellent.

First word of advice - only go on art walk night if you want to be a part of art walk. The area was crazy crowded! Almost unpleasant to walk around. Took us around five minutes to find a place to park. Luckily, though, we had reservations at the restaurant and were immediately seated on their patio. Our server was nice and made sure to point out the daily specials. He took our drink orders and came back pretty quickly with them, although as the restaurant filled up and the bar got busier the drinks definitely took longer. Through course of meal we had the midori cocktail which was good but definitely tastes like pineapple. The husband had a couple beers and our friends had the fruit mojitos (very good) and lychee Martinez which he enjoyed. We ordered the fig, cheese, honey and hot pepper pizza to start with. INCREDIBLE. We all agreed it was highlight of meal. Very generous with the fig and the hot pepper turned out to be flakes, not any type of actual pepper, but it provided perfect amount of spice. For entrees I had one of the specials. Slow cooked lamb shank over Parmesan risotto. Very good. The lamb was very meaty with a great sauce and delicious risotto. The husband had the tagliatelle rucola (grilled sirloin steak drizzled with herb oil) which he thought was a little uncooked. One of our friends ordered the ravioli special. He liked it, but it came with two pieces of ravioli. That is not an entree and he wished he had been told. We all ended up giving him some of our food. Our other friend ordered the chicken in salsa verde. But he was served a piece of plain chicken with a bowl of salsa verde on side. Not what he was expecting at all and not very exciting. So, out of five dishes ordered, two were great, two were okay and one was blah. But setting is nice and prices are reasonable.

This is my second time coming to Joey's and I still love it! It's a great Italian restaurant and the vibe is great. I recommend making reservations just in case because on some nights it gets packed. To eat, I had the Carbonara and it was delicious. The first time I went, I had pizza, which was delicious as well. Parking- it's basically road side parking and you know how parking in Wynwood can be at times. I do think the have valet but I'm not 100% sure. If you love Italian food then you for sure have to check this place out!

Very chic Italian restaurant conveniently located in Wynwood by the artsy walls!! We got the COCONUT LONG ISLAND ICE TEA which is strong but delicious and perfect to share for 2! I got the Middle Neck Clam Pasta that came in garlic and white wine sauce and was ahhhh-mazing. Currently waiting on extra bread to dip with the delish sauce. Must go to Italian restaurant! :-)

After dining here over the past several months, prior to our permanent relocation, I have not one bad thing to say about Joey's. It's Italian and your going to get a little attitude, deal with it people! Pasta, al dente and perfect every time. Haven't had a bad special yet and love the Lamb shank. My wife swears by the DOLCE E PICCANTE pizza and we have also had a few groups dinners here as well, always on point. Now that Joey's is just a 3 minute walk for us it's hard to think we won't be there at least once or twice a week. Nice to have another neighborhood gem. But of course this is just my opinion!

Let me begin by saying I chose this restaurant because as always I am picked to organize holiday and going away luncheons for my co-workers. I spoke to the general manager who was very helpful, Orestes Gonzalez offered 5 Prie Fixe to chose from which included a soda an appetizer, entree and a dessert. The prices were very reasonable. We were greeted very warmly as we arrived. Our appetizers arrived in a timely manner even though our party did not. The mango sangria was filled with fresh fruits and delicious. The Insalata Mista was enough for 2. It had lots of figs ,walnuts and Gorgonzola very filling. I had the cod fish and it was spot on not a disappointment. They brought us for dessert a nice chocolate cake with a few pieces of pear tart to share which everyone enjoyed. My friend ordered American coffee and I will have to say I wish I had ordered one because it was perfectly brewed. I guess I have to come back. The ingredients were very fresh on everything we ordered and perfectly cooked. The ambiance was very upbeat with great music playing in the background. I will definitely return the staff was very friendly and I would like to try the fig pizza and other items on the menu. Thank you Orestes and Cristina for a delicious lunch.

this is a cute little restaurant in wynwood. I came here for lunch with coworkers. the interior decor is super cute! we were seated right away during lunch hour, arrived around 1. parking was a little bit of a hassle. the waitress was not good. didn't tell us specials or offer us anything else to drink besides water... I later saw someone with lemonade and a watermelon drink and wished I knew about it. there were flies everywhere!!!!! it was gross to eat and have to swat away flies from landing on your food. they were swarming the restaurant. the pizza was only ok. I wasn't too impressed with anything. I think whole foods pizza tastes better than pizza here. the salad was very bland and nothing special. I'd recommend going somewhere else for a bite of pizza!

I've never been disappointed with this spot, even when I had dinner here post-breakup with my on again off again boyfriend ( I have commitment issues except when it comes to food) What I enjoy about this restaurant is the ambiance and minimalistic decor which is a representation of their simple but fresh and flavorful dishes. One of the best, reasonably priced restaurants in Wynwood. Also, nice little date spot.

Never again. Our waitress was aloof and apparently too cool to actually do her job. We ordered bruschetta & a pizza. The bruschetta was so toasted it fell apart as soon as you bit into it. No flavor, just bland and forgettable. Our pizza took forever to arrive. When it did, it was burnt all around the edges. So much so that you couldn't enjoy the crust. Everyone knows the crust is the best part about having pizza. We had dinner here because of its close proximity to Wood Tavern. We will never return. Horrible food. Horrible service. Get it together Joey's.

I had dinner at Joey's over the weekend the food was amazing and the service professional and prompt I was very satisfied with the food and the service. The pasta was al dente and the sauce was thick and wholesome. The dessert was creamy and had an ideal degree of sweetness. Kudos to the manager and staff great job.

SO this was an impromptu date night in Wynwood. We randomly walked by (after having left a restaurant whose menu was UNDERWHELMING) and took a look at their menu and were drawn in. The staff are very friendly, we made a request to sit out in the back gardens. It was beautifully lit and well kept. Our waitress was EXTREMELY engaging, funny and knowledgeable about the menu. Made good recommendations for our drinks and our food. I had a margarita (frozen) and my bf had the sparkling sangria. Both were not extremely sweet or strong (no puedo) but the presentation was nice. BF LOVED the bread (he's very particular about bread) it was soft and warm. We started with the raw beef which was garnished with arugula and cheese (can't remember the name), it was nice, not something I would choose again honestly. As an entree bf had the Carbonara. It was DELICIOUS, tasted like authentic italian. Pasta was al dente, the perfect consistency. I had the spicy tomato sauce and tiger shrimp dish (name escapes me). It was good. Not great but that might be due to the fact that I tasted bf's dish and was in love with that. It was a 'safe choice' for me. Dessert was the pear tarte: this was extremely light, not insanely sweet but baked to perfection. Lost a star because of the beef dish and the lackluster drinks. Everything else was very good. I will definitely be back!

Avoid at all costs. Terrible food. Frat-boy liquor selection. Nothing about this place is honestly Italian. Owners aren't. Workers aren't. Food is barely. . The only reason it hasn't folded is seemingly because of some sanctimonious regard Italians have for restaurants with an Italian label. Avoid the fig, honey & Gorgonzola pizza. Pasta sauces are watery. Sangria is pieces of fruit dropped in mango drink mix, with sparkling wine drizzled in. Gross. Gross in every way.

Formerly a reasonably strong, somewhat pricey modern Italian bistro with a casual, hip urban vibe, Joeys seems to have repositioned itself squarely towards the moderately priced mainstream market, offering mediocre takes on classic Italian dishes. Not so different from what one would find in a mall restaurant, I found Joey's food utterly mediocre, and their formerly pleasant garden cramped with diners feasting on cheaper pizzas and moderately priced pastas. Wines by the glass were thin tasting and underwhelming, and service wasn't spectacular either. The Wynwood Walls seem to have become a tourist attraction, as Joeys (and its neighbor Wynwood Kitchen) both seem to have both sunk to mediocre, tourist quality levels too. Pull up the tour buses!

This place is such a great restaurant overall. I will suggest the pizza with fig and get it with mozzarella. It will NOT disappoint! It's simply amazing, I could of had it as my meal! I chose to get the mahi mahi entree in a caper and lemon sauce, it was so good as well! Such a great ambiance and mood all around. The waiters were very tentative and nice all around. The outside patio is so romantic and perfect for a date night! They also have a second patio that's open and is a chill little areas as well. Overall I would recommend this to everyone, from their pasta to their seafood and pizza this chef knows what he's doing! I will say, get their tiramisu as a dessert! SO GOOD! Most places, it's too soggy and not that good, but they nailed it here! It's so amazing and has such a good flavor and not soggy and mushy like most.

I walked in with my boyfriend. We were going to go to another restaurant that we were before, the Butcher Shop, but wanted to try something new. As we were walking in, a woman was walking out, held the door for us, and said if you like Italian food, the food is really good. Well get prepared people- this is not going to be pretty. Needless to say, she must've worked there - probably getting off her shift. The place closes at 11:30 at night. We got there about 10:45. Well with that introductory, you know where this is going. We went and sat at the bar. There was a glass with ice from a previous customer. No biggie, right? Well then I put my elbows onto the counter, and it was extremely sticky. I had to ask one of the workers there to please wipe it down. Even after he wiped it with the cloth that took a while to find - what a surprise - I can tell it was just water that he was wiping it off with. Ugh. Okay, so I ordered an Appletini. And my boyfriend ordered a beer. He loved the beer, obviously- it was an Italian beer, excited because he is part Italian. So I get my Appletini. I watched the bartender make it and I thought it was going to be absolutely delicious. But lo and behold it was too strong and tasted like I was drinking straight vodka. The presentation of it was nice- but I could probably make a more delicious one with my eyes closed. I looked at some other reviews as we were in there - my boyfriend was the one to pick the place - thank God he was the one that paid the bill - and saw that the service was bad and the food took too long to come. First we got small plates in front of us. However, I had to ask for the bread, it was not offered. When the bread did come, my boyfriend was trying to find the butter. Then we had to figure out that the oil in vinegar, that was an arm and a half away from us (not placed in front of us) was what we needed to dip it in. No pesto, but there was balsamic vinegar that was tasty. I did add a little salt, which made it palatable, but it would've been nice if they had placed the oil and vinegar in front of us. What a simple task that would've been. So I grabbed the oil and vinegar, and after I place a little salt, I went to grab the Peppermill, and it was totally empty. Really? How long would have taken for someone to check all the Peppermill's and make sure that they were were still filled for their customers. The food came out pretty fast for us. My boyfriend had the pizza with sausage and bell peppers and onions. I had the steak. The presentation was beautiful! But that's as far as it went...... My steak had no taste! It was like they took some meat out of the package and placed it on top of the grill. My boyfriends pizza was totally bland. Even the sausage was tasteless. Seriously, no exaggeration. So I sent my steak back because it was way undercooked for medium. Still, no flavor :( I asked for some steak sauce, and he said they were going to make it, so I was a little excited that it was going to add a kicker to me steak. So the plate comes back with a red sauce in a small medicine size cup. I grabbed it to put it to the side- I burned my thumb and index finger it was so hot!!! Really? When the server brought back my plate, he could not say be careful, it was hot?!?!?!? THEN, I tasted the sauce, and, I SWEAR, it was ketchup with spaghetti sauce mixed together..... We ate our food because we were really hungry. Such a bad meal... It totally ruined our whole rest of a Saturday night..... My boyfriend and I eat out at different restaurants a whole lot, and this is my first review on yelp- because the food was so bad I do not want the commoner or the experienced to go through this. The green salad with Parmesan that came as a side with our meal was delicious and tasted fresh. I sprinkled that tasty balsamic vinegar on it. Was awesome! Myself and my ITALIAN boyfriend will NEVER go there again. That food was so boring it almost put me to sleep. You could eat there if you want.... You were warned!!

Joey's was not in my original plans for the night but I am so glad I came across it! Turns out the place I had planned to go to with a party of 18 screwed me over. Last minute on a Friday night, I had to walk around Wynwood looking for a place to accommodate my party. The staff at Joey's was so welcoming and accommodated us right away!!! The food was delicious, personal pizza was a good size too! Definitely would recommend this place!

Im a local and have driven past Joeys a hundred times, so we decided to stop by. We went to have a seat at a friend's table, we tried to pull up two chairs, but a server named Arthur grabbed the chairs from us and said " no no no, we can't sacrifice this table for you, that's not going to happen", so he made us stand.. Strike one. Finally someone offers us a chair. Then we have Arthur as our server, he was constantly rushing us to order, trying to free up the table.Strike two. He was making rude remarks to our entire party. It was brought up in conversation by the main party host. We all work in hospitality, so after having him serve us, it completely ruined our dining experience. We ended up closing out and taking our business across the street to R House. Which was amazing!!! When you go eat at a new place, the food is important ofcourse, but you never forget how someone made you feel. Our party of 6 all felt completely awkward via his hospitality. Not worth my money or Friday night.

While the food and ambiance wasn't too bad, it wasn't outstanding. Regarding the service, it was absolutely abysmal. After ordering a standard Gorgonzola Tartufata pizza, I had to physically get up from my seat in order to get someone inside the restaurant to try and figure out why it was taking over an hour for my dish to arrive. The rest of my party had finished eating their food by the time mine finally arrived. After asking the waitress to provide some sort of compensation for having to wait so long, (which she admittedly said was because of an error of placing the order on her part) she had the audacity to push back on my request because I had begun eating the pizza! DO NOT GO HERE! Besides, there are a million more options in Wynwood/Midtown/Design District more sense if of your hard earned cash.

Ate here last night with a party of 10. All of us arrived a few minutes early hoping to have a few drinks at the bar. Unfortunately after checking in we were told its better if you guys leave and come back at 9:15 (our reservation time). Now I am not in the restaurant business but 10 people drinking at your bar for 20 minutes before being seated seems like it would be a better suggestion but no basically they kicked us out til 9:15. We went across the street to Wood Tavern had a couple rounds of drinks and came back to Joeys at 9:15. Thankfully our table was ready and we were promptly seated. Our waiter was very nice a little slow but overall the service was ok. I had the Dulce & Picante pizza which was amazing as an appetizer and the ravioli with spinach, meatballs, and meat sauce which was also good. In general I would say the food here is average. We sat outside which was nice and comfortable. Hard to say if I would go out of my way to come here again without a reason but if I happen to be in the neighborhood craving a pizza I would stop here again.

Date night. Menu is pretty straight forward Italian fare, but the execution is what makes the difference. We started out with the grilled octopus, which was garnished with hearts of palm. Delicious. My wife ordered the tuna that was on special. It was cooked to perfection and drizzled with balsamic vinegar. I had the Spaghetti Involate with Black Tiger Shrimp. Excellent - from Sauce to Shrimp, just a well executed dish. We finished with their Stawberry Cheesecake. Here, the strawberries were reinforced with a strawberry sauce drizzle, which resulted in strawberry overkill and unfortunately masked what was a pretty damn good cheesecake. Service was polite, gave good recommendations and never made us feel like a table turn was needed. Would definitely go back.

Came here with a friend who had been before and said they make good pizza. Pizza? YES. Started off with an apple martini. Sorry, but it was the worst apple martini of my life. I had to tell our waitress to add more mixer because it tasted like straight up vodka. Redemption: We ordered the Gorgonzola Tartufata pizza, which has gorgonzola cheese, walnuts, truffle oil and arugula. To be honest, I was wary of the walnuts in my pizza. Walnuts in pizza? BUT YES, IT TOTALLY WORKS. I would certainly go back for this pizza only. Do yourself a favor, and order this pizza because it's delicious. Also ordered gnocchi in pink sauce. Nothing super special, but still very good. After the first drink, I tried another cocktail on the menu. It was also very strong and not very tasty (shame on me not learning the first time). You would think that being in Wynwood, a place with a plethora of good beers and drinks, it would be a given to have a bartender who knows what they're doing. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Go for the walnut pizza, leave for craft cocktails and beers.

This place is like a bad dinner. The menu sounds great but when you get the food, it looks like processed meat out of a can. I got the veal and beef tortelacci. I got a plate of mediocre ravioli with ground beef and shaved cheese on top, mind you it looked like grated cheese out of a grocery store bag. No one else was crazy about their food. The server, or the cook, someone down the line, forgot about a coffee we ordered so that took as long as dinner which wasn't very convenient to wait for. Overall came in here because we walked by and will absolutely not do it again. The food was closer to bad-very bad, it is incredibly overpriced for what it was, the service was not up to par, neither was the cleanliness. I think this places major appeal is the location.

Late night snack at Joey's after Wynwood Kitchen. Had the margherita pizza, which was terrible. Ordered a salad with spinach, arugula and radicchio, also not very good. Had a bottle of Gavi and it was sweet. That's odd, never had a sweet Gavi before. Very crowded w/ families enjoying themselves, so there might be some good menu items, but nothing good that night.

Really cute spot! Service was great, we sat outside and they provide lots of fans so no worries about the hot Miami weather. I ordered the Parma E Fungchi, it's a big portion so I recommend you share with someone. Food overall was yummy!

I can agree with most of these reviews. The food is good. But not special. It's pricey for what I am not sure. I am from LA working in Miami and I feel like the prices were too high for what we had. But we did have 2 amazing pizzas. So that was a plus. The arugula pizza and the prosciutto and walnut pizza, both amazing. I did order a salad, and asked for the dressing, which was truffle mayo, on the side. The left all the ingredients off and only brought a bowl of yellow romaine. We laughed. Was this a joke? I felt like I was getting punked. I asked where the Parmesan cheese was and the waitress brought me the grated Parmesan. I was guessing maybe that how the do it. It was just wrong. Especially because it was not a simple side salad. But it should have been, since all I got was lettuce and some truffle oil mayo as a dressing. I probably won't be back.

Our fun night in Wynwood came to a sudden stop when we got to Joeys! Where to begin... We were a nice size party (11 people) and we arrived a few minutes before our reservation. My girlfriend had made the reservation a few days prior and had a lengthy conversation with the gentleman on the phone about our reservation. Well, when we got there, guess what? No reservation! For 10 minutes the hostess, who never once apologized said we must have called the wrong number and the wait would be about an hour if not longer. Normally I would open my mouth and say something, but since we were out celebrating my birthday, I decided to let the others handle it. Thank goodness my out spoken Cuban girlfriend finally said 'Instead of telling us what you can't do, tell us what you can do'! I thought the hostess was going to cry. Finally the manager came out, gave us a bit of a hard time, and miraculously was able to seat us...outside on the patio, with several open tables! It was a beautiful night, so we were fine with that! We all ordered our drinks and food, so far, no other issues, until.... My girlfriend and I ordered a bottle of Prosecco which was quite costly, but we knew we'd finish it off no problem! The waiter was taking a menu off the table and spilled a full glass of it. Yes accidents happen, but he could have replaced it with another glass. The table cloth was sopping wet and me personally would have changed it, he left it! Every one received their meals except one! After waiting an additional 10-15 minutes she cancelled it and was told that she couldn't because it was already being made. Really??? By the time her meal came she had already eaten half of her husbands meal and didn't even want it. She pushed it aside, not sure if they took it off the bill. We all ordered pasta dishes. My 'Foodie' friend said her sauce tasted like Chef Boyardee, others at the table weren't impressed either, said it was just ok. My husband and my friend ordered the Gnocci, it was good, nothing special, just good. I ordered the Spaghetti with Middle Neck Clams, best part of the dish...the clams. Pasta was a little al-dente for me even after I asked to cook it a bit longer and was swimming in a pool of garlic and oil...overkill! Would I return to Joeys? Let's just say next time we go to Wynwood Art Walk, we will be hitting the food trucks!! Love me some food trucks!

We finally got around to trying this restaurant in the middle of the Wynwood Arts District. It was good, but, vegetarian choices that appealed to me were limited (there are lots of salads though). The food was a tad foo-foo for my taste; I didn't even know what some of the things were. They have things like "roasted suckling pig". WHAT? That sounds like something that's still alive! Oh, and octopus - if they can dredge the bottom of the ocean to get octopus, can't they grill up some good tofu? . . . I'm just sayin'. But, anyway, we played it safe and started with the bruschetta. It was just enough for 2, came with a little pile of good greens, and was reasonably priced, $6. It was quite tasty! Then we had a margarita pizza, which was also very good. It was just enough for 2, and reasonably priced. Because of its location, I really expected this place to be more expensive - but, the prices were good. Then came the MOST amazing dessert I have ever had. The pear tart with vanilla gelato. OMG, sooooo delicious. It does not look like what you would expect, but the flavors in it are perfectly blended (I understand it is made by Joey's). Seriously, the best dessert ever. My friend balked at a pear tart - but, even she couldn't get over how good it was! Most definitely get it if you come here. And, the price was fantastic - $7. The service was okay. Not bad, not great. There's indoor and outdoor seating. You can sit under an overhang outdoors, or go out to a outdoor garden area that's really pretty. The inside is nice too, but smells like the food that's cooking - I don't like to sit inside somewhere and come away with that smell on my clothing. The restaurant is very clean and they keep the tables wiped off. Good place; I'm sure I will be back!

I will never ever return to this establishment. The waiter was an idiot. I had inquired about one of the dishes and ordered one of the specials instead when he brought my dish it was not the dish I ordered. I was so hungry that I wasn't going to wait another 20 minutes to get the other dish. However when I pointed out to him that I had not ordered the dish he didn't even acknowledge his wrong doing he simply asked oh you didn't order that and went on his way. Throughout the dinner he didn't apologize. I left most of the dish and didn't even question. To top off to the horrible service the food was mediocre. It wasn't bad but it was just ok. Won't ever come back. Horrible experience.

Came here with my father. Our server seemed like it was her first day in the floor, anyways, she sold us some Fresh squeezed watermelon juice, the soup of the day (which I believer was a veggie purée soup), and two salads. The food was great. We left happy

First impressions are always the ones that last ... My girls and I came here to start off our girls night! When we walked in we were greeted with " how can I help you?" ...... Hmmm really I mean what else could we possibly be here for , to ride bicycles!??? The ambiance and decor is very beautiful , romantic like little tables and hanging lights over the tables, we sat outside by the way. The food was delicious ... Everything was very good .. We all had different things and I cant remember , chicken , shrimp, pizza .... The only other thing that i did not like is that towards the end of our meal the waiters kept coming around to see of we were done and kind of felt rushed. Other than that .. perfect Service !!

I was already drunk when my friend and I needed a bite before our movie at O Cinemo. So, at least you know where I'm coming from. This place doesn't need a Bible to sum it up though. I don't feel conflicted. That patio? Amazing. I could sit there all day--though next time I would do it with an elegant glass or wine or a prosecco... without a half-dozen pre-game cocktails. The pictures of the pizza look amazing... I seem to remember most of the food -surrounding- our table looked amazing as well. However, our bruschetta? They gave us each one piece each. For what... $9.00 if memory serves? Are you kidding me? It was good. But this is Wynwood. Who do you think you are? My savory cucumber-caviar cocktail? They said it was strong, so, I guess, shame on me, but it was just cucumber-infused vodka. It did the food no flavors. We ordered a special, some sort of light oil-based sauce over pasta with clams. It was bland. I remember not thinking the pasta was spectacular either. Service is completely unmemorable. Except for the bathroom attendant--who seemed out of place in Miami--who was chatty, warm and awesome while offering me a plethora of candy bars and wet wipes for sale. I actually gave him money before passing his wares. It's strange he exists... not as a person. But as a bathroom attendant. In Wynwood. I would go back (TO THE PATIO) and eat pizza.

I usually try to avoid large dinner parties but I went here with a party of about 15 for my girlfriend's birthday and was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly everything went. The staff was so nice and helpful it really made it such a great night. Someone brought a bottle of champagne and they were nice enough to let us drink it there and even opened it for us. We also brought our own homemade cake, which they decorated even more for us at no charge. They really went beyond what they had to do. We sat outside and the atmosphere was great. My girlfriend and I split the gnocchi with four cheese sauce and a pizza. Both were great and I would order both again. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food too. On top of it all, it was very reasonably priced! I highly recommend it!

Was next door and we where starving so we went in to get some grub. We waited to be seated no hello or greeting. Awkward. The waitress was very slow but to be fair she was running around because they seem to be under staffed. We first ordered the octopus appetizer and a bottle of wine. The octopus was tasteless and not really good. Just they're very plain. We waited for over 15 to 20 minutes for the bottle of wine we were done with the appetiser when they brought the wine. Took forever to even make our order for our food which we had the margarita pizza. Not sure if these people know what a margarita pizza is basically what they serve is a cheese pizza with a little bit of basil in the middle! Was not impressed at all! If I had to come here again I think we would just have wine and the meat and cheese appetiser plan very slow service. Felt ripped off when we left 80 something dollars for that?? Really?

I got the margarita pizza and a traditional mojito. The pizza was OK nothing special. The mojito tasted like it was missing the rum, mint and sugar :( and was very disappointing. The restaurant was full of flies. I will not be back.

lll keep this short. Shitty service. Mediocre food. Rude waitress. Not going back, plenty of amazing food spots in the area that have never given me a reason to leave a bad review.

The fig, honey and gorgonzola is always worth going for but the service and quality has gone downhill over the past year.

If you want great pasta, this is it! We've been coming here over the years and it's always good. Pasta is always fresh, home made. The tiramisu here was to die for. The cold cuts and cheese platter is a must!

Decent food, but not at the prices they charge. Location is fantastic, service average. Caters more to the suburbanites who want a "Wynwood" experience.

Upbeat fun place to go and have great pizza, steaks or fish. Been there now two saturdays in a row. I love the fig, honey and Gorgonzola pizza!! First time I had buffalo skirt steak and second time I had the Uruguayan organic filet mignot-outstanding!! Both times everyone in our party cleaned their plates with no complaints, a very good indication of the quality of the food and service which by the way if you can get Andrea she's the best. If you're hesitant don't be, go and you won't be sorry I promise.

Last night we had the worse meal of our 7 years in Miami at Joey's. Service was subpar and the food was simply bad. My Tiger Shrimp main course was as dry and hard as a frisbee ... and $35. My guests has pasta with shrimp and again, completely over cooked. We will never go back. My advice is to run far away from Joey's.

Went to Wynwood for lunch with a friend and none of us had ever been here so we decided to try it out. It's quite small but cute, with a bar area and outdoor seating as well. There was no wait (weekday around lunch time). They brought out some bread with some olive oil & balsamic vinegar for dipping. It was two different types of bread: one was like a sourdough, and the other was more like a cornbread. Both were very yummy, but because of my Cuban side I asked for some butter lmao...I had a special they had on the menu that day which was some lobster ravioli with some olive oil sauce, and some pasta stuffed with ricotta & spinach topped off with a meat sauce. It was very delicious! My friend had a chicken panini and kept it simple. Oh & we had 2 Bellinis :) overall it was a great experience, and I would definitely go back again and try a different dish.

Went for lunch. Took 1.5 hours. The table next to us was very upset and said they'd been there for 2 hours... so, expect that. The service was less than mediocre. The server refilled drinks only after a request and 15+ minutes of empty glasses. The bill was incorrect. She gave us a bit of an attitude for splitting the bill 3 ways. In all, not a positive experience. The food was decent.

Oh, how I love Wnywood! The art, the hipsters, the hidden gems! Which translate to, not the friendliest service but a very cool looking restaurant while dining in Wynwood. Boasting to have the best pizza in Miami, Joey's was a definite to check out. The Diavola crust was crispy, and it was pretty good, but self-proclaiming yourself as the best sets yourself up to scrutiny and for that I wasn't very impressed. At the servers recommendation, I decided to try their one of their special dishes which was a combination of two pastas. I found the pasta to be way more impressive than the pizza was. It was the best of two dishes rolled into one amazing meal. Finishing off I had a Pear Tart for dessert. I don't even like pears and I found it to be pretty good. The gelato was decent but I would come here for that. The Pistachio gelato was flavored rather than being made with actual pistachios. Don't think I didn't leave without a cocktail. I ordered a Juanito (Vodka, Malibu Rum, Mango Pure Cranberry Juice topped with Chambord) and while it was refreshing, it tasted almost virgin. I would definitely go back to Joey's for that pasta but not much else!

Came here last week with my mom for lunch and we both loved it! The restaurant itself is very private and cute! There is outside seating as well as inside seating. I was very surpirsed as to how much their staff caters to you. They really want to make you feel at home and make your meal, the best one you've ever had. We ordered the diavola pizza which was extremely tasty and not spicy at all (at least it wasn't for me). I will say that the pizza is slighly oily, but boy is it delicious. My mom ordered something that wasn't on the menu. Since she is vegatarian she asked if they could make her a primavera with tomato sauce paired with their homemade pasta. VERY good! Extremely fresh. I will say that their portions are big. Between my mom and I we ordered one plate of pasta and one pizza and we had to take half of each home because there wasn't any more room to fit anything else! Overall this place is great. It's not the cheapest BUT you are paying for quality.. and in their case, quantity as well! I will definetly be coming here again!

Let's start by saying that the nearly 3 1/2 stars rating average in Yelp is misleading. This place is NOT good for food or service. This is my second time here and it might be my last. The best of the night: the drink special we ordered, which was spot on although the bartender lacked skills at talking to the customers and measuring the pours. A drink that is overflowing and making a mess even before you get it is not a good sign. I don't care how much we want to enjoy every single drop. Then he ran out of Cachaca and the fun was over. Food and service were both bad. The special appetizer that included polenta cakes was a disaster. The polenta cake was dry and hard as it it was hand to dry for days. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and it came in a creamy broth with bacon/pancetta. That was not carbonara in any book. The rest of the people eating when asked; how is your food? They all had this 'Meh' look on their face. We all have seen that look, right?! The service was another disaster. I forgive mediocre food if the service is great but these poor people have no idea what they were doing. I'm tired of writing about bad service in Miami but this one didn't do anything to change my mind. Lack of menu knowledge, lack of cleanness and readiness of the table between courses, lack of energy and intention to do a good job and make sure we had a properly set table.. lack of smile, lack of salesmanship, lack of fun. I was expecting something else because they place has charm and its in a great location but I left wish we would have spend those 200 bucks somewhere else.

Like a tiny piece of Heaven.. Me and some friends were in search of pizza after a teeny tiny drinking day the afternoon before part three of III Points, the music festival in Wynwood. We came upon Joey's, and after ordering for takeout, I decided to stay so we sat at the bar and got it for here. The place is located on 2nd about a block away from Panther coffee, and it's a very elegant restaurant; perfect lighting for a date or just somewhere sexy to eat. The prices vary -- it can go from $10 to $30 real quick. There's something good for everyone's pocket though. Ishmael was helping us out and he was such a delight. We had the Margherita Pizza, split between three people, everyone was satisfied, the cheese was melted perfectly, the flavor was rich, and even the thin crust was fantastic! I would certainly come back the next time I am in Miami. Ishmael I will never forget you -- it's the little things that make for a great experience!

Every plate chef Ivo puts out is well thought out with amazing taste. Daily specials with tons of great options are amazing with always something different to try. Pizza, pastas, appetizers, desserts, entrees - all phenomenal.

I've come here a couple times. The service has been top notch both times. The place has a nice romantic ambiance to bring a date as well. As far as their food is concerned I've only gone for wine and antipasti, the Tavolozza del Pittore Grande, which was vast enough to be a meal for two and then some. All in all a great spot take a date in a pretty cool part of town.

We went here over the weekend for a friend's birthday. We live in Palm Beach county and often refer to Miami as "the other side of the earth;" Ft. Lauderdale typically being the furtherst south we travel. We were excited to venture down to a place and area we have never been. I am really glad we did because Joey's is great! Located in Midtown in the art district of Miami, you can't help but notice all the awesome art work on the building walls on the way to the restaraunt. Small and unassuming, Joey's is tucked away on one of these unique streets. My friend made a reservation for 6 p.m. so when we arrived we were sat at our table immediately. Helpful hint: I'm told this place is typically standing room only on the weekends, so reservations are definitely recommended. We were led through the restaraunt to the absolutely adorable outdoor garden. We ordered the Tavolozza del Pittore Piccola as an appetizer for the table. It was an incredible spread of Italian meats and cheese. The marscapone cheese was a stand out for me as it was my first time trying this type. There were generous portions of mozzarella, parmesean, capicola and sopressatta. It was a fantastic spread with something for everyone and certainly enough for a party of eight. Known for their pizzas, the Gorgonzola Tartufata was calling my name. My mouth is still watering. It was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Blanketed with beds of argula and sprinkled with walnuts and truffle, every bite was better than the next. My husband ordered the short ribs off the speciality menu that came with cheese orzo pasta. I did not try the ribs, but the orzo was outstanding! My husband seemed to loved his dish as he practically licked the plate clean. For dessert, they brought out a slice of tiramisu and a slice of chocolate cake for the table to celebrate my friend's birthday. Lucky for me I was sitting next to her so I got to sample both. Perfection. I think you're starting to catch on to my terrible sweet tooth, but seriously, they were to die for. You can tell by the flavors that Joey's is a true, authentic Italian gem in the middle of Miami.

This was my second time eating here. The first time was back in 2007 and it was great then. Now...Joey's is overprriced for food that I would consider to be "meh". The salmon is rather small, tasteless and just plopped on a huge bed of lentils. Not appealing. Salad was not good at all! The only reason I am leaving 2 stars is because the beef carpaccio was pretty good. Hostesses are not very friendly and isn't that pretty much their job?? About 5 years ago, or so, Joey's was pretty much the only restaurant around, but now with Wynwood becoming much more popular (more shops and restaurants) Joey's may want to put in some more effort. Disappointed and won't be returning.

There are only a few restaurants in Wynwood on a Sunday. So a stop for mid-afternoon lunch at Joey's was an obvious decision. Customer exploitation is possible when it's about the only restaurant around. Instead, we found it to be very enjoyable, with fast, attentive service, and good food. My friend had a Cuban sandwich that was made perfectly. The kitchen cutoff for panini items is 3:30 PM, btw. I had a pailard of chicken over roasted potatoes and broccoli. Delicious. $22 The decor is very artistic, with linen panels pinned to the ceiling - not for acoustics but to break up the visual space within the small room. An outside patio is available but pretty uncomfortable in the humid, tropical summertime. Evening there would be the best choice. The bar seats only about eight people, but is a popular seat in the house for both food and drink, too.

Where do I begin... They were out of octopus so my mother in law and I ordered the salmon carpaccio and bruschetta to share.. the salmon was so incredibly tasteless, but I didn't say anything at that moment. Then my husbands pappardelle came which was atrocious. It was burnt rubber. He was starving and even he couldn't eat it. My father in law's carbonara was horrific and drowning in a watery salt-less sauce. Carbonara is about the easiest dish in the world so this was just extremely offensive to serve something so disastrous. They took the dishes back and attempted to correct them but they came back out just as bad. To their credit they did comp the two main dishes bc we were so upset at the terrible quality of food. We felt bad for the waitress who did her best to help us and made sure to tip her well as this was not her fault by any means. This review is solely based on the food and it was by far the worst food I have ever had in Miami-- hands down.

  • Anthony G.

Poor customer experience. Customer service was horrific. The server took 25 min to take our order, refused to split the check, and then took another half hour to run our bill. We arrived at 7pm and didn't get our food until 8:10pm. Furthermore, the Jeff Goldblum-esque server was extremely rude and combative during the whole process. He was indignant after our request to split the bill, bluntly insulted us in front of our table to another employee and then still charged a 20% gratuity. The mediocre food did not even come close to making up for the service. IF YOU HAVE A LARGE PARTY DO NOT COME HERE.

  • Lissie O.

Don't believe the hype!! Starting with the hostess not being friendly at all, to super slow service, and the food.... BLAND!!! I guess the pizza reviews is what gives them more than 2 stars because if you base it on their fish, risotto, etc, dishes it is not worth it. I will not be going back and giving a warning to our friends and family. What a waste of night out.

Came here with great expectations, however we were very much dissapointed, our entree was prepared completely different, got the wrong side orders supposed to get palentta and got something else once we got the correct side it was extremely salty, and my friends dish was also salty. Asked to get broiled potatos instead... Soaked in oil. The dessert another dissapointment, after telling them a few times it was my friends bday hoping to get a nice dessert .... Nothing to rave about it came in a bowl without even a bday candle! Very much dissapointed dont think we will be back

Joey's, A jewel in Wynwood Its Friday Night, walking around the Wynwood area, not real agenda, when suddenly my friend and I walked in front of Joey's as someone was coming out of the restaurant. The aroma from this place was so good that my stomach made a sound and begged to go in, however we ignored it. A few blocks later we look at each other knowing "we are now hungry" so we start going into several restaurants looking to see where to eat. None had that wonderful smell that came out of Joey's so we gave in and walked in. This is a very charming little restaurant and we were quickly seated. The sangria was very good and very appealing to the eye and the Bruschetta Fresca was very tasty . I was not feeling very adventurous, so I kept it simple and ordered Spaghetti al Pomodoro, the pasta was cooked perfectly, just the way I like it. My friend ordered the lobster and vegetables, I had a bite and it was very good. No Italian meal is complete without a little dessert, you know, for digestion! So we had a sampler plate to taste all. Plenty of pastas and pizza choices in the menu for everyone. A casual restaurant with great food, stylish patrons in the Art District, can't go wrong with that. Would I recommend it? YES!!!!!!!!!

I had heard great things about Joey's, but I was expecting something better. We were seated immediately by a very nice hostess. Drinks came fast, but the bread and our order were taken like 20 minutes later. The spaghetti bolognese was good. Everything else was OK. Good prices though. The place could have been a little colder, the ac was on just not strong enough.

Wow! What an amazing experience we had. We walked in near their closing time but still we were allowed to sit. and not only that the shef himself served our entire food, This italian man was amazing, we shared the 4 cheese gnoqui, out of this world. And then we had a heavenly dessert. Definetly coming back.

This place only has a nice location! As for food, dont even bother! They have no clue. The bread was old and I asked to please have fresh bread... They had no more.. Impressive for an Italian resturant. The carpaccio was ok other than having too much truffle oil.... I would also eliminate the mayo on top! As for pasta, my linguini was al dente but the sauce, oh my... Do they have a clue on how to prepare a bolognaise? Service was pretty good though.

My girlfriend and I love this spot. One of our favorites around Wynwood or Downtown Miami. It's a bit expensive but for the quality of food it's worth it. They have an amazing menu. When you are talking about food in Midtown Wynwood this is the joint. Hope you enjoy! C

Hostess called me today, 4 days before New Years, to tell me that I needed to cancel my reservation because they are going to be closed after 3:30pm. I have never experienced that at a restaurant and have to say that the poor planning and inconsiderate nature of canceling so last minute deserves 1 star in my book.

Food was good! Dined with 4 teenagers, 1 vegan, & 1 pescetarian! There was something for everyone! Only caveat: Service was lacking. Was seated immediately, which was a plus, but waiter took his time to serve us water, didn't say hello, not very pleasant(young guy). Waitress that took the order, nice/friendly, but overwhelmed by the crowd(NYE during the day). She never came back to the table to see if we needed anything. Had to wave down someone to get us more water. Had to ask for the bill, then waited forever for her to bring it, then pick it up! It's a small venue, the place was packed quickly, but it was surprisingly & refreshingly quiet. We could actually hear ourselves in conversation!

The server dropped oil and balsamic all over me and my purse and did not care at all. Even after speaking to the manager, he did not care. It is clear why she was not professional when her manager was not either. Food was ok and orders were messed up. I would never come here again.

It was my Fiance's Birthday and we went to Joey's before hitting up the Second Saturday Art Walk. Joey's offers validated valet (8$) a great start and end to get out of Wynwood when finished strolling the Galleries and checking out the scene (After 9PM this Place gets Packed wall to wall, and people in the streets complete with bumper-to bumper traffic). We were greeted by the waiter and he found us the hostess who was very nice and complemented me and sat us down at a nice table for 2. The waiter came by and asked us what we'd like to drink, offered us wine, beer, a specialty drink, or a shot of tequila! ha I was taken back and he said you'd be surprised how many people took him up on that offer. We just had Still water, courtesy of the finest on Tap. They brought out a basket with 3 squares of Focaccia bread. I poured the olive oil and balsamic that was on the table on a bread plate and cracked the pepper and salt that was also on the table to enjoy with the focaccia as a dipping plate. We ordered the Regular Mista Salad (small 7$ / regular 11$) to Share. It came Mixed greens, gorgonzola cheese, cherry tomatoes, figs and walnuts. The Dressing was nice and light perfectly made salad and plenty of figs, which my Fiance never had and didn't like, so I got to enjoy more! He ordered one of the specials that day it was a Hangar Steak (25$) with a Truffle Mushroom Sauce, it also came with halved red potatoes au Gratin and green beans. The Truffle sauce seemed to have a lot of cream in it, and nice chunks of Portobello mushrooms. I was really happy with my Bistecca alle Erbe (19$) Its an 8 oz. Grilled sirloin steak with herbs and vegetables, which was sauteed Spinach. The dish was perfect and the herbs delectable My steak was medium rare and I loved it. Very tasty delicious dish and I'd recommend it to anyone. We enjoyed our night and stayed full the whole time through the hours of walking the Art Walk, we had no more room for a food truck. They didn't seem as good as our meal at Joey's anyways.

Party of 6, not one complaint. All of the dishes were delicious from pizza to pasta. The prices? Amazing value Atmosphere? Good looking people and live music at the outdoor patio section. This is THE spot. We absolutely loved it. Awaiting desert now... Can't wait

  • J. S.

My only complaints were personal; 1) There was a Yuppie shindig going on towards the back of the restaurant. You know, the Brickell-types that 'want in' with the whole psuedo-surrealist lifestyle movement (whether Wynwood really lives up to the hype, is up for debate). 2) I had to sit next to a Vegan, and watch her order, and watch her eat, and watch her talk. *pulls hair* The best part about my experience... nothing came out of my pocket. And with that being said, there was some serious cash to be spent, paid for and by a third party company. Now, with these kind of situations, it seems like ordering alcohol is the big thing -- not with this stomach. I don't care much for alcohol, itn fact, is just not my thing. It's about solids over liquids, that's just my philosophy. I don't get the thrill with wine and shit. If I want liquid, I just drink water, it's healthier and better for you. Anyway, let's start off with the antipasti; CARPACCIO DEL BOSCO - $13 Beef Carpaccio with Arugula, Shaved Grana Padano Cheese & Truffle Mayo. Damn, son, this stuff was bangin'. 5/5 POLIPO - $13 Octopus Braised in Balsamic, served with Artichokes & Endive. Delicious 4/5. BRUSCHETTA FRESCA - $5 Toasted Ciabatta Topped with Oregano, Basil Seasoned Tomato & Cherry Mozzarella Delicious. 5/5. Honorable mention: We also had one of the specials, a calamari, seafood pizza -- I was impressed. The pizza dough was almost paper thin, vut with plentiful of toppings. Halfway through the meal, and the service was phenomenal. Our Argentine server and the guy's that work here did a fantastic job with filling up waters, removing plates, refilling bread, etc. As for primi; LINGUINE CARBONARA - $13 Linguini with Pancetta, Eggs, Parmesan, Black Pepper & a touch of Cream Huge portion; I recommend. Desert; Tiramisu 5/5. Forget taking Valerian, this whole experience was enough to put me asleep, I so need to return here. I had loads of fun.

Went for lunch ordered soup and pizza so soup was ok but what used to be one of the best pies in Miami was soggy and just not up to par they said no problem but I feel there is a problem when a few months ago it was great pie now I wouldn't eat one bite after waiting 35 min for a pie that takes 3 mins to make right and I was the only customer o well

Rock solid Italian fare in the Wynwood district. Had excellent mussels with fettuccine. My companion had a sandwich that he said he thoroughly enjoyed. It was quite busy at lunch but the service was excellent and very attentive.

  • Aris F.

Tried a pizza here that had sausage, mushrooms, and gorgonzola. These are very thin crust pizzas. The sausage and mushrooms were delicious, although the pizza would have been much better if prepared with a more generous serving of those toppings. Where the pizza really fell down, though, was in relative lack of sauce and in too much saltiness from the gorgonzola. I couldn't really tell from the taste if there even was any tomato sauce. And the salt level was so high that I wouldn't order this item again. (Gorgonzola is hard to use properly on pizzas -- when it is done well, the result can be spectacular, but in my experience in most cases the pizza ends up being too salty.) Note that parking can be tough in this neighborhood; valet service is available though.

Joey's has been on my list of Miami restaurants to try for a while. We finally made it during this month's Wynwood Artwalk. The ambiance was very nice. We were seated in the outside garden area. The service was really good and the plates are well-priced. I started with a glass of the Pinot Grigio that was a great choice for a spring night outside. Then, I had the skirt steak with mushroom truffle sauce and it was really really good and tasty. The sauce was just the perfect topping for a girl who usually tops her skirt steak with a mountain of chimichurri sauce. Others in my table ordered the pappardelle bolognese, the duck gnocchi and the lamb shank with Parmesan risotto. My skirt steak and the pappardelle were the best tasting by far! We finished dinner with a chocolate cake and a tiramisu. Seriously, get the chocolate cake. It was rich and creamy without being overly chocolatey. I would return to Joey's. And next time I will try the pizza. I saw a few of those pass by our table and they looked yummmmy.

Only reason I'm giving Joeys 2 stars is because the food is good! The service (both times I've been) is awful. The waitresses are uninterested in helping. Only visited our table one time after we got our drinks and food. We had to ask the hostess (who was great!) to refill our drinks, for our check, etc. Both times our meals were good, just feel the staff except for the hostess were lazy and uninterested. And our waitress the last time we visited only had to take care of two other tables this was during a slow lunch. Very disappointed!

  • Carey K.

What a huge disappointment! Joey's was a very good restaurant when it first opened. But, my recent visit was not a good experience at all. Although the service was great, the food was horrible. We were served hard, stale bread. The crust on my pizza, and another's, was burned to a deep, crisp, blackness - and the pasta was way undercooked. The server told me that the chef cooks the pasta "al dente", but it was beyond firm. It was actually a bit crunchy! Plus, a couple of my friends had their credit cards charged twice. I will never go back and I will never recommend Joey's to anyone!

  • Ashlee T.

Ambiance is great - foods is a bit bland - not seasoned the Italian way. I heard the pizzas are good but didn't try that. The tuna salad was really tasty. But the shrimp and asparagus ravioli wasn't very tasty at all - wouldn't suggest this order.

  • Paulo P.

Our overall experience was good but... First I must say it's great that there's some kind of outdoor seating (so unusual in Miami) which is also dog and baby friendly. Also, the dolcce picante pizza is absolutely delicious... Please try it. I recommended the place to our party after trying the dolcce pizza in a previous visit but all the other pizzas we ordered fell short in comparison.. They we just OK. Also, wine by the glass @$12 is soo overpriced in relationship to the cost of a pizza. There's plenty of good places with great wine by the glass with fair prices under $9.

A really nice, pleasant enough little restaurant located in the Wynwood or more precisely the Wynwood Art District of Miami. It serves up some rather good, unique Italian foods. I started with the baby octopus appetizer which came loaded with some of the finest, lushest, plump, juicy, exquisitely prepared octopus I've ever had. For an entree I tried their mussels, shrimp and lobster pasta which was served nicely loaded with mussel, shrimp and lobster but was rather blah as far as flavor with the pasta having little if any of that Italian bite to the teeth "al denta" I would have expected. The service, however, really sucks. No separate bowl in which to put the shells from my mussels, having to make four requests for grated cheese, having to hunt down my waiter for a wine refill and generally being ignored when the place wasn't even busy but the staff more engaged in doing inventory or chatting amongst themselves results in my three star only award. As a counterbalance to the lousy service, I found the ambiance and dinning accommodations both superlative either indoors or outside in a patio setting. However, you might want to reconsider the pleasantness of the patio in the event the Miami "skeeters" ....local for mosquitoes...are present unless you enjoy yourself being eaten when you eat.

Great ideas, but lacking execution. Ambiance and proximity to Wynwood save this place. The view of the street is great and the atmosphere is really nice; however, the food and drinks (most important things) leave a lot to be desired. Prices are fair and service is good.

Pizza flavor is really good, but I wish I would have ordered it well done. It was a little too droopy in the center for my liking. Outdoor ambiance is really nice, and they have heaters.

Great food and drinks! This was our go-to spot during Art Basel weekend when Wynwood had their art walk. Food was great (except for our dessert of cream brulee which wasn't very good) and the service was great especially for being so PACKED. Their bar area is great to hang out in because it is in the front and you get to see everybody coming in and out. Not only do they have Italian food but also espresso. Note: They are now open on Sundays

Came here the other night for a friends birthday. We had made a reservation (which the restaurant messed up) so we had a table in the back patio area. The service was pretty good but nothing spectacular. The same goes for the food...while it wasn't bad, it wasn't great either...and for these prices I would expect better.

I hadn't read the reviews before I made a 9pm reservation for a Saturday Wynwood art walk night- so then I was concerned it was a bad choice, but just decided to try it out. If you've never been to a second Saturday Wynwood art walk, you should check it out. It's a fun street party with no attitude, lots of great people watching, interesting gallery spaces and street performers, and a hugely diverse crowd in every way. Glad I made the reservation- I went in at ten to 9 and asked if they were on time and they said, yes, come now if you can. I heard people coming in and asking for a table and were told it was a 90 minute wait. the hostess was fine, sure not overly friendly but people were literally coming in the door every minute and asking for a table. and it is a small cramped space, near the bathroom, near the bar, it's not a big place at all. There were 5 of us, we shared a pizza as a starter. Not the best pizza in Miami but good, 3.5 out of 5 stars. and big- enough as a starter for 5 people. 2 people had salads and they were also big and really nice, figs, nuts, good dressing. i had the gnocchi, I asked for meat sauce but it was so loud in there i think she gave me the pink sauce. it was good. not great. everyone else had pasta dishes and liked them although they did say they were a little heavy on the cream, not light fare. For as crowded and loud as it was the service was much better than I would have expected. It was obvious they wanted our table but I didn't feel they were rushing us out. I would not go back to be honest, but it was a perfect choice for the night. I recommend it if you are going to the art walk, make a reservation. It is also pretty reasonably priced- I think the gnocchi was 12 bucks, the pizza was 13, and like I said, big portions.

This is my favorite go-to neighborhood Italian spot. It feels comfortable, unassuming, yet elegant. The food is always outstanding and fresh (everything taste homemade) and they have a wonderful wine list to match it. Try the fig salad and spaghetti with clams. The salmon with lentils is also incredible.

We love the ambiance. Small and quaint with great background music and a full bar. The food is good. If you are hungry - not a bad place to start. We had pizza (basic), pasta and chicken. Most notable was the service. The staff was busy but our waitress was accommodating and knowledgeable.

My review is for the Pizza Only: Loved the thin crust traditional pizza. The place is small but clean, the servers were attentive and the crowd was laid back and casual. Will definitely comeback sometime.

Failed my gnocchi test so I will not return. I was here with a group of about 20 people and they handled it well from a service perspective. The terrace is outdoors yet covered and well lit with string lights. There is free street parking which is a plus. My portion and that of others in my group seemed small.

The food is wonderful and the services was great. The waitress that helped us was amazing. The only issue was the valet parking charged me $7.00 even if though I had a stamp and when I asked he told me that they charge $10.00 without the stamp thought the sign says $7 in general. Design District is only $3 so seems like a rip off.

Pasta, pasta nom nom yes. The food warranted a four star, service was very good but where they fell short was how long it took to get the food. Small, quaint, simple artsy decor, cool place with outside patio seating. The waiter brought over delicious foccacia bread with oil and vinegar, score! Then we shared a seafood salad that was huge and fresh. I ordered a pasta with oil and parsley and fresh spinach. It was light, cooked perfectly and very tasty. Great flavor with very fresh spinach and garlic. Portions are fairly large so I had dinner for the night with my leftovers. The wine selection looked decent. Our server was awesome telling us about the specials, and very attentive. My only issue was it literally took over 45 minutes to get our lunch. Luckily I did not have to be anywhere quickly. I get cooking per order but it was just a pasta dish. I would come back as I really did enjoy their food but make sure you are in no hurry. Great place for good food and to hangout for awhile without being in any kind of rush.

Not a good place for kids. There are no small portions for kids and they are not accommodating. It took the server 30 minutes to take our order, another twenty to bring out our drinks (we only ordered a diet coke, which is served in a can, and a lemonade). They didn't give us any Parmesan cheese with our pasta. The server we had is a total idiot. This place is expensive and not worth the wait.

Loved this place, it has a great vibe too it.. Came here for lunch with friends and it was great. So happy they brought me here. The service was excellent. Our waiter was really nice and helped us decide what to eat. The ambiance of the place is different and the decor is very refreshing with beautiful flowers. Their is seating also outside but we sat inside as it was pretty hot that day. As for the food it was delicious, i started out with a carrot soup, exquisite. Then we had a pizza for appetizer (omg) the gorgonzola, honey, peppers and fig. WOW!!! Then i had the pig panini sandwich,(die for), my friend has the scallops with mushroom in polenta (polenta was cold and bland) but the scallops were really good and her mom had the fettucini carbonara excellent. We also had some wine, drinks and prosecco. Place has pretty decent pricing. Catch its not in a great neigborhood but their is street parking just be careful if you go at night. I will be going again tomorrow night with others friends cant wait.

We stopped in for lunch during Art Basel, and the place was packed. the hostess was a little taken back when we walked in with a party of 12. The word was that they normall do not acept reservations. So the wait was 1 1/2 hours. no biggie, we just walked around and checked out the art in the meantime. They sat us earlier than expected outside on the patio. It was nice out there and the weather was beautiful. I started with the Honey Jack - $10 Jack Daniels, Jack Honey, Fresh Mint & Brown Sugar Orange Flame. It was worth every penny! Other people in my party ordered it as well and loved it. For my entree I ordered the Gamberetti - 16.50 Mozzarella, Fresh Tomato, Shrimp, Garlic, Hot Pepper & Grana. Again this was awesome. Everyone in my party loved the food as well. The server, I think her name was Andrea was very nice and attentive. She was on top of the food and drink refills all afternoon, which was impressive, because this place was very busy. The food was great and the bill was very good considering its Miami. I would reccommend this place to anyone visiting Wynwood!

Came here for dinner and really enjoyed sitting outside in their little garden. The menu is pretty comprehensive and we went with a pizza, some duck, and the paccheri. The pizza was good, but nothing to write home about. The paccheri was relatively average as well unfortunately. Actually if anything, it was a little too heavy on the cream and cheese, and if I'm going to suck down calories at the cyclic rate, it better be really damn good. The duck however, probably qualifies and is a huge portion for the price, so yes, get that. So that probably leaves this place at 3.5 stars, but I thought the service was a little weak. Our waiter would just disappear for long periods of times without checking up on us..it was busy, but at least poke your head around a few times an hour. Oh yeah another plus, the wine list is very reasonably priced...

The food was great, although perhaps a little pricey for what it was. I didn't sit at the bar but it had a great look to it. I went there on a date and sat in their outside garden like area and it was perfect. I asked about several wines and the waiter was more than happy to offer several small samples (although I didn't find any of the wines I tried very good, but maybe I was just choosing the wrong selection for what I was after). Service was great, food was good, wine was meh. I may be back next time I feel like going into wynwood for a nice date.

I really like the food at this place but if you happen to find yourself there during the weekend for dinner, this place is so DISORGANIZED. Service becomes slow and sloppy and if you happen to be in a big party, pack in your patience because you will wait, handsomely. The pizza is tasty but there's good pizza in other places with great service. If it wasn't for the location, I probably would not go back.

My complaint about this place is the way the front of the restaurant manages walk-ins; the hostess can be very rude and very disorganized. I almost gave up even though she tried to kick me out at least twice. Once you are in, it is a very different story. Service was good (a bit slow but understandable since it was busy night. Food was excellent. I had the figs pizza and the Pappardelle Gratinate. Delicious! I think the ac was not working properly but it was a bit hot inside. I will probably try this one again, but will not persist as much or endure the hostess poor attitude.

Me and a couple friends stopped into Joey's for a pre-artwalk meal. I was a bit hesitant to be seated outside thinking that it might get a little chilly but the weather was absolutely perfect. I opted to split the dolce e piccante pizza with a friend after becoming intrigued by other reviews. The whole-wheat crust was a little too crispy on some of the edges and I didn't quite get the level of "piccante" that I would hope for. Instead, it was a sweet yet savory pizza that definitely satisfied, but could have been amped up a bit. I also tried some of the salmon ravioli which was delicious. The salmon was substantially flaky despite being stuffed in pasta! I also enjoyed a house salad with cornichons and tiny onions that were really tasty. The service here was attentive. In fact, our water glasses were even filled the second before we were about to stand up to go. They also were generous with the bread basket, offering more when our first round was devoured. It's clear this place is popular with the Downtown crowd and I can understand why. While I probably wouldn't make a special trip to the neighborhood to grab some food here, I'd definitely come again if I'm around!

Eh. Came here during the week for a quick bite, as I have been eyeing this place for a while. Service was slow, especially since there were only 4 other tables that were occupied. It was a good 15-20 minutes in before the waiter came over to take my order. At least I had some bread and water to tide me over while waiting. To the waiter's credit, I asked for it to be sent over on the quick side, since it took a bit to take my order of gnocchi with meat sauce and it did come out pretty quick. However, when I received my modest plate of pasta, the gnocchi was overcooked, gummy and wet. Sauce was good, but watered down due to the pasta water running off. Not at all impressed. I really wanted to like this restaurant and I am a believer in supporting the businesses in Wynwood. However, there are just better places to go to, and with other restaurants in the Wynwood/Midtown/Design District area, they have to up their game.

I had a very bad experience where my chicken was undercooked. It so grossed me out that I ordered a steak for the 2nd attempt. The steak (ordered medium) came out rare and was totally inedible. Unfortunately do to the screw up with the first meal, I had to order the 2nd one to go (hello long ass lunch break) and I wasn't able to discover that it was basically raw until I was back at my office. The manager was super apologetic and he did reverse the charges and offer me a free meal to make amends. However, 2 practically raw meals does not make me want to eat here again. Sigh. I liked this place too. I am only giving them a 3 star because the manager was so great.

Came here during the week for lunch after hearing about the restaurant through friends. Service was fast, we were a large group and were seated rather quickly. The sever came out once the whole group had arrived and told us all the specials, which seemed like a whole separate menu. After reading some of the other reviews, they don't really seem like "specials", just additional items that they decided to bring in after printing the menu. Anyway, I had the fettucini carbonara. It was alright - I've had much better. The panceta was a bit too hard to chew on some bites and the pasta was a little hard as well - definitely not al dente. The sauce had little flavor, but was overall a decent dish. The portion was quite big - I was only able to finish half because I got so full. Others in my party had the gnocchi, chicken panini, chicken pallard (sp chk), and an arugula pizza and everyone said their meal was great. I guess I'll have to go back and try something different next time around!

Had a great experience at Joey's. The soup of the day was Tomato & Red Pepper and it was delicious. I love a fresh soup but it's not always done well... in this case it was infused with fresh herbs and drizzled with olive oil and just had fantastic flavor. Next came a small Della Casa, just a basic salad with greens, tomatoes, baby onions and cornichons which was good. We then shared a Margherita pizza. Thin crust, perfectly cooked, with a little basil and tomato sauce. It hit the spot. Finally, for desert, we opted for the cheesecake. It's so hard to find good cheesecake because once you make it at home, nothing comes as close. Well Joey's came pretty close, not incredible, but pretty damn good. Finally, what really stood out besides the food was our waiter. He was attentive without being too intrusive. We had our waters filled before they were empty and dishes were promptly cleared. Overall a great experience and hope to be back soon.

Great service, great Italian food, moderate prices, the portions are not too generous but overall it's worth visiting. We shared a beef carpaccio and it was really good. It had truffle mayo which was good in terms of flavor but they put a bit much for my taste which took away from the subtle taste of the carpaccio. I had the spaghetti alla vongole and it was cooked al dente, just perfect. The sauce was light and quite tasty. My husband has the four cheese gnocchi which were very good but the portion was small. Our friend had the spaghetti with lobster and it was delicious! Another member of our party had the caprese salad and it looked quite good, it was served with basil and olives. Nice. We had a Tempranillo wine which was a full body and very good! For desert we had a limoncello cake with mango sorbet, delicious! As far as parking there is street parking as well as valet. I would definitely come back but would try not to come with a big appetite.

Went before going to the theater and they were timely and even gave us a show discount. The steak was awesome filet that is, my husband said it's one of the best steak he has had in a long time. I had the Branzino fish light and fresh. I would go back again tomorrow if I could.

Decided to offer Joey's my patronage after a very nice and very successful Happy Hour at Wood Tavern. (If you haven't been to Wood yet, you should have your Wynwood card revoked). The restaurant is nicely put together. While there isn't really anything special about the inside, the outside was thought up fairly well. Enclosed by shrubbery that stands at about six feet high, you get the feeling that you're in a secret culinary garden of sorts, hidden away from the judgmental eyes of anyone who might look down on the starchy goodness of a heavy Italian dinner. My biggest gripe with the locale is that ownership did all that it could to fit as many tables in there as possible. It almost feels like a fire hazard. Truly, it's not the best place if your party exceeds four. The staff starts you off with the staple of bread, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. I'll tell you, the bread wasn't very good. It didn't have that crusty quality that you come to expect at an Italian eatery. It kind of worked to remind me that the simple things that you come to take for granted can really take away from a restaurant if undertaken poorly. As a main dish, I ordered the Paccheri Tartufati, which proved to be largely disappointing. The dish consists of a broad pasta, spinach, and Parmesan. Now, what I'm assuming the chefs are trying to achieve is that the starchy pasta water and cheese will create a sort of light, simple sauce that should largely linger in the background and just lightly coat the pasta. However, in this case, it just proved to be too watery. Maybe they didn't take into account that the spinach would release a great deal of liquid when cooked, which would work to further water down the dish. Either way, the entire thing was just about swimming in water, which was not too my liking. Also, the cheese, which was shaved and not grated, also found itself sprinkled throughout the dish in big, really bitter chunks. As much as I love cheese, I don't want to bite into a huge chunk of it if it's going to be sub-par in quality. I mean, I'd give the place another chance, but that speaks more to the reality that I love all things Italian. I can't in all honesty sit here and tell you that Joey's the restaurant did well in luring me back.

A nice new Italian restaurant in the Wynwood Warehouse area off NW 2nd Avenue and 25th St. I ordered the hot focaccia pizza bread to start as the W enjoyed their french bread with oil and vinegar and a bowl of Zuppe Del Giorno. For a main course, the W ordered Green Beans Pancetta and an Insalaone. The pancetta was more like ham than bacon. I enjoyed one of their special pasta dishes, Tortellini with sausage in a light creame sauce. There is plenty of free parking outside and it felt safe, even on a cool Miami evening. They also offer valet parking. This is a great restaurant before the Theater or a Miami Heat game.

A good friend had her 30th birthday dinner here - and it was a very nice setup. They had a long table outside in the patio area with lots of space to walk around and mingle. Not sure if that was by design - but it was a nice touch. The drinks were good... and I was happy with my entree... but the appetizer left much to be desired. We ordered the salmon carpaccio appetizer and I'm still wondering where the salmon was. When the dish came out - it looked more like nachos, with huge piles of lettuce, tomatos and a dollop of what I thought was sour cream in the center (was ricotta cheese I think). The salmon was so thinly sliced - that it was like eating air. Not impressed. While the service was really good most of the night - when it came time to bring the check... that's when things got obnoxious. So you have a group of 20 people and you're not allowed to split the check? Why not tell us when we made the reservation? And you want us to figure it out and tabulate it all? And then you want to accuse us of not giving you enough money when really all those numbers confused you? Just a warning... if you're going in a big group take cash, a pen and a calculator so you can do the work for the server. Also, invest in valet parking. It's fine parking when you arrive... but the walk after dinner can be scary.

I decided to give this place a try after seeing it reviewed on Check Please,South Florida! Positives: the atmosphere is very friendly and warm, and the service was EXCELLENT. We were shocked at how quickly our dirty plates were removed, water was refilled, and more bread was offered. Unfortunately, the food was completely sub par... to start, we had the burrata salad, which while OK, seemed to be haphazardly thrown together on the plate... and the burrata was a bit too runny for my taste... it was a relatively small portion with more greens than anything else and it was just bland and poorly presented. We also ordered the octopus appetizer. This was a bit better, but the octopus was tough and chewy, served over endive which were completely unseasoned and somewhat soggy... seriously, we ate it because we LOVE octopus, but it was NOT a good choice. I ordered the portobello mushroom plate with polenta, and was REALLY disappointed with the taste (there wasn't any), and the veggies and polenta were completely cold... the cold portobello mushrooms tasted like cardboard and it took us a while to get the waitress' attention (after about 30 minutes into our dinner, the place was now packed, so she became very busy). Finally, she mentioned a completely new dish was being prepared, and after 10 minutes brought me the same exact plate, just lukewarm (SO frustrating). We also ordered a Margherita Pizza, and while better, I would sadly say that Anthony's or maybe even Frankie's is by far better... We DID see lots of people ordering pizza and pasta - if we go back, we will stick to a pasta selection... not what we ordered. I must reiterate that service was an A... food was a C-. Not sure we'd go back...

3-ish stars Biggest complaint- I ordered a glass of $9 wine, and it was too cold and more than likely was opened the night before. It was a cheaper tasting wine and the pour was *tiny* .. I think I had four sips. Went for lunch. Had Paninis. The bread was good, but mine fell apart with the ingredients falling out of the back of the sandwich at every bite. The eggplant was tough. Overall taste of the sandwich was lacking. Hubby had "Suckling Pig" or whatever it was called and it was simply a sliced ham sandwich, but not bad. I'm sure their pasta is good. I think if you know what to order here, and just order that everytime, it would probably be a better experience. I would skip the pizza here as well. Call that an Italian's intuition.

If you don't frequent to the design district often, make it a point to at least check out Joey's. We arrived around 9:30pm. There was a local band playing, and the restaurant was fairly packed. We were seated immediately. Service was impeccable - thanks, Betty! It's a quaint easy going ambiance (a casual yet sophisticated Italian spot), and I definitely need to return to try some more menu items. We had the gnocchi with mascarpone sauce, truffle and walnuts and the skirt steak, mint sauce and sauteed spinach. I definitely should have gone with the gnocchi. The food came out relatively quickly, which concerned me, but it was still good! I will say my meat was not cooked perfection (medium rare), and it was a bit bland. However, the gnocchi was mouthwatering. We followed with the Tiramisu - YUM! I had glass of wine, and we received a drink on the house (just because). I love finding great service! Kudos to Joey's. I will see you again soon!

I've pass by this place quite often but I haven't checked out until now. I was craving some pasta so I tried the gnocchi with meat sauce. Oh my gawd.. That dish was totally unexpected and reminded a bit of my grandmother's cooking... just delicious. The service was not a problem. I did show up around a bit after mid day. The place is small and intimate. I would recommend reservations. Lastly, enjoy the pasta!

This place used to be known for extremely good service. No longer. 1) Food quality has deteriorated 2) Hygiene is questionable - found hair in the food last time I had lunch there. Ingredients don't seem as fresh as in the past. 3) Service has gone down the hill. Trying to get a reservation is ridiculous - 9/10 times a woman answers the phone, puts you on hold, and then hangs up 10 minutes later Stay away.

My boyfriend and I were entertaining a friend from Tampa and we decided Wynwood was the perfect spot to take her. We made a reservation for Saturday at 7:15 p.m. at Joey's. We were seated promptly inside. The service was excellent, very professional and friendly. The whole red snapper special with mashed potatoes was fantastic and the homemade baked pappardelle with bolognese and bechamel sauce was delicious. We had the chocolate cake for dessert which was spectacular. We will return to Joey's soon!

Being relatively unfamiliar with the Wynwood area, I thought I was driving deeper into Miami's "no no" area. You'll notice the obstacle course on your drive over to Joey's; it's in the form of reckless, drug addicts hurling themselves into the streets. To my surprise, the area itself is becoming progressively more attractive to potential residents because of the growing arts community and restaurant scene. Parked valet (because it's free) and entered to find my friends in the small, outdoor patio. We did our best to stay put, but ultimately, the mosquitoes won and we headed indoors for cover. Our server was really attentive and charming with his Italian accent and excellent recommendations. The first of his successful suggestions was a bottle of the Sangiovese. The oaky, spicy notes paired perfectly with our entire meal. We started with the Pizza Margarita which we treated like table bread and scarfed in a matter of minutes. For our entrees, one friend had the black ink with lobster tail spaghetti (he loved it), and my other friend and I split the Angus beef and mushroom tortellini plates. The beef came with a creamy porcini sauce and the fact that it was sliced made it easy for sharing. The mushroom tortellini came with bits of speck (juniper-flavored ham) and once again, satisfied aplenty. Great ambiance, friendly service, awesome food.

We got to this place to give it a shot since it looked like a nice place from the outside. But it was a 'super bad experience'!!!! Beware!!! It took the busboy 25 mins to serve us water; it took out waiter 45 mins to take our order and i had to ask for the check before that! I ordered a "light mahaou" and the beer they served me was outdated by 10 months! When i told the waiter he told me all of their light mahou's are outdated and no body ever noticed it; meaning they have been serving it for a while to other customers without anyone noticing! I ordered the gnocchi with tomato sauce and the food was ridiculous, i ended up just picking from the pasta like 3 pieces since I was starving by the time the food was served(it took more than 1.5 hours for my food to come from the time I sat down!!!) and i just left disguested!!!!

I had been to Joey's on two separate occasions and enjoyed the food and service. Last night after a year of not going back we decided to take our parents to a casual Sunday dinner. The service was good until they brought me the pasta special...a watered down "mushroom cream sauce" that had no flavor. When I returned the pasta they did not apologize or extend a courtesy to the table. Super disappointed and am NEVER going back.

Really great place, with a good vibe, very pretty, and the food was delicious. I would high recommend this place to everyone. It can be romantic, and it can also be great for a group. IF theres one thing on the menu thats a must try, it would have to be the pizza we ordered that had spicy sausage and drizzled honey, awesome. I had a very enjoyable experience and will be back very soon.

If you are going on a date this is a great spot to try. BUT... only if the girl is an eater. if she's more into a scene where she can pick at a salad for an hour take her elsewhere. This place is for women who appreciate the sensuality of sharing a meal. I have been here three times. EXCELLENT! What I love about this place is that if you blindfolded me and said I was at a legit Italian joint in Hoboken or Brooklyn I'd believe it. (Except it would have to be summer.) Best part no golddiggers, no scene, no BS. I went there in a simple skirt and top, and shorts, sandals and tank top. Casual all the way. This place is legit and has been added as a go to spot for Italian. The vibe is old school "goombah" Italian. It's super causal, zero hoshy poshy but the food is 100% on point. Here's what to order... The Tavolozza Grande and then pick a pasta dish and share. If you are old school Italian you will appreciate the Tavolozza Grande which is a wooden board filled with salume (proscuitto, speck, mortadella, and cheeses, figs, grapes, PURE HEAVEN. This one easily feeds 4 as an appetizer. The pastas are delicious. The last time I came I had linguini with seafood. I also had the gnocchi which were little nuggets of tasty love. Their specials are divine. Tips: when dining outside ask to be seated away from Smokers. Yes, people here smoke when they eat. I don't get this but whatever. Ask to move if you hate cigarette smoke (or opt to dine inside, it's chilly inside with cranked up A/C so bring a sweater). Also make sure to spray some bug repellent. The night I went recently was a full on mosquito attack on my legs and ankles. Parking is easy on the street.

I been here a few times now. I absolutely love the food. I always order from the daily specials. The food is always fresh and delicious. It's a small place but with a great ambience. It's not too loud, there is a sound proof glass between the kitchen and the dining area. I think that is an ingenuous idea. You have the luxury of seeing the kitchen and the cooks at work without the noise associated with it. Sitting outside is nice as well. I have yet to try a pizza there. I will surely try it next time!

I had previously just submitted a quick tip, as the Dolce e Piccante pizza was the extents of my Joey's experience. After a dinner with a friend, I can certainly say this is still the case. We started off with the Bruschetta Caprese appetizer. The bread was the perfect crunch, but couldn't taste the tomatoes as it appeared they went a little overboard on the cheese. She ordered the Spaghetti Pomodoro and loved it. (I tried some of it and will say the tomatoes tasted and looked fresh; this simple staple of Itali-American cuisine was well prepared.) The coup de grace came with the headliner. The crust was light, and had the powdery, almost soda cracker taste I look for in pizza crust. Honey was visibly sprinkled on the crust and with each bite we could both taste the flavor mix of spicy and sweet. The sweets were enough that I didn't actually go for dessert! We did order coffee, though my capuccino appeared to have just frothed milk instead of whipped cream. Besides the coffee, the only other downer was that now they charge $3 for the formerly free valet parking. Still and all, Joey's remains as one of my favorite design district restaurants.

Joey's is one of my new favorite restaurant's in Miami! Plus, it's in Wynwood so there's free street parking and it's close to where I live. First, the pasta is soooo fresh! Tonight I had one of their specials - shiitake mushroom ravioli in truffle cream sauce. OMG. Like, wow. I really wish I had leftovers of this for tomorrow. The flavors just come together and melt in your mouth. I had one of their other pastas before (last one listed in pasta section) and it was amazing too! Each time I've gone, my friend and I have ordered a pizza for an appetizer... WOW. Love their pizzas! Thin crust and fresh ingredients. Both times I've had tomato sauce pizzas with vegetables and sausage. It's so good (and I have leftovers of that) yay! Tonight we also tried their Tiramisu and it was honestly one of the best ones I've had. It was moist and delicious. I cannot wait to come back! Forgot to address the service - top notch! My water never went below half full because their staff was constantly staying on top of serving us. Seriously - you can't beat the food AND service!

Picture yourself reclining in a wrought iron chair in a tiny, lush lawn (or surrounded by cool marble mosaics and blissful AC if you're not a fan of the Miami summers), a glass of rosé in hand, and a buttery tilapia covered in capers waiting to be scooped onto a piece of fresh baguette in front of you. Joey's classic Italian dishes are elegant in their flavorful simplicity and perfect to swap stories over with your friends. Whether you're wearing linen pants and flip flops or heading out for the evening, Joey's inviting atmosphere is a go-to destination and another reason to love Wynwood.

What really makes Joey's a unique dining experience is the ambience. With a few tables tucked into a small garden, you would never expect such a cute place in the middle of the otherwise questionable-at-night design district. You can not go wrong with taking a date here, it's quiet, intimate, and softly lit. The food was pretty good, I came here after a recommendation from my italian coworker so I was expecting more (after having eaten spectacular Italian food with him in San Francisco and him rating it a 3/10, I suspected his standards were WAY high). That being said, the food was delicious, we had some pizzas and some of the daily pasta specials, and were not disappointed. What really makes Joey's stand out for me is the service. Our waitress was always around, helpful - but not intruding - and perfect in every way. I left happy, full, and with leftovers to be enjoyed the next day.

I returned to Joey's and found myself disappointed in comparison with my first meal. I believe that the moon and the stars must have aligned in a wonderful manner that first time. Joey's no longer carries the first course that I originally ordered and the dessert is apparently not very common as a whole -- the disparate parts are used all of the time, but not together. While the pizza was still good, I had my mind set on the meal I had before. I shall try again with a fresh mind.

I've been to Joey's a few times, and the food is really good, but that's about it... I'm unimpressed with the service there. I've never had a really great server, and once the hostess was downright rude. On this occasion, my mom and I were in midtown and decided to pop in to Joey's for dinner. They weren't busy at all. There were maybe two or three tables of people. We were told we could only sit outside unless we had a reservation, so we go outside. We were the only people out there, it was hot, and we waited forever...no one came by in the 10-15 minutes we waited. Finally, we left and headed elsewhere. Also, the seating at Joey's is not comfortable, especially at the tables outside. It feels cramped and the chairs feel like cheap patio furniture. The food here is good though and a pretty good value considering the portion size. I've only ordered some of the pastas, and my brother usually gets pizza. Everything we've tried has been rich and flavorful. Considering Joey's is sort of away from a lot of the other popular spots in the area, I'm not likely to head back anytime soon (especially after that last experience), but I'll probably be back eventually because the food is good, and I'm a fan of the midtown/design district area.

Had to be the best dining experience I have had in MIA. The server, Arthur, AMAZING. The food is straight out of Italy , and the bill... For everything I was expecting a lot heavier, but when I got the tab I honestly felt I was Robbing them. The evening was perfect, and the meal was a great part of that (had run out of Gas earlier, so this totally flipped my day back around into the Green ;)

I really, really liked Joey's. The setting is nice, we sat outside and liked it very much outside of the fact that it would be great if they had more fans. We started with cocktails and they were refreshing, original and very tasty. We then had the Bruschetta which was very good although I wish they had rubbed the bread with garlic as it is usually done, and had sprinkled with a bit of salt. The bread was crunchy and perfectly toasted which is key. The tomatoes were fresh so it came together nicely. We also had the Cocote de Funghi which was absolutely delish!!! Loved it!!! We then shared a plate of Carbonara and I must say it was probably one of the better ones I have ever had and I have had plenty! Everything was perfect but they forgot to bring fresh parmesan and fresh cracked pepper. That is a must and to be honest when everything is so good it is something you expect. I will def. return to try the rest of the items on the menu. Oh and the wines are very well priced, actually the entire menu is well priced. It is SOOO refreshing to not feel like you are overpaying.

This was my 2nd time here. The first time was about 18 months ago. During my first visit, we waited a very long time for the food. The food is really good, but if you have to wait 55 minutes to be served, you can't really enjoy it. Last night, we had exactly the same experience. Because we remembered what happened 18 months ago, we order an appetizer so the wait wouldn't be so bad. We had the Carpaccio del Bosco, it was good, not amazing. It came really fast. BUT 50 minutes later, after the appetizer was served and several inquires to the server, food was served. I don't think I will give another chance to Joey's. There are many options in the Wynwood and Midtown area and we rather visit other restaurants with better service.

I was SO excited to eat here having read all of the amazing reviews online. I made a reservation via opentable and we were set. I definitely recommend making a reservation here, we had one for 6:00pm and it was fairly busy. As we were done with dinner it definitely started to get crowded. Our waiter told us the later it gets you can't even move in there. With the bar so close to the door, I believe it... The place is so tiny! There is a small dining room, terrace and small tables in the front. Another perk of Joey's is the $5 valet. It can be kind of hard to find parking in Wynwood at night, so this is a major +! The decor is very modern and cool. The back wall is amazing... There are pics of it on the website and you can kind of see it in the pic above, but I had no idea it was all mosaic. So cool! Our food was excellent! Most of what we had were specials, so they aren't on the menu. We had an appetizer of scallops, shimp and sausage over polenta. So yummy... it had a sweet sauce over it. For dinner we ordered the Parma e Funghi Pizza (They are known for their pizzas, so had to try) and another special - the Funghi and Beef Lasagna. Our waiter told us it was the first time they served the lasagna and it didn't disappoint! All of this and a bottle of Bordeaux came to a total of about $80.00 - not terribly priced considering. We ate it all and even had some pizza to bring home.

Been here several times. Lunch & dinner. Never disappointed.Joeys was in the wynwood area before it was "cool. " Go there for the pizza's, daily specials, & italian dishes. Not /steak. Go to a steak house for steak (hate when people dont order what the restaurant specializes in). Portion sizes for some items are big. You can split a lrg salad. Service is good, slow on busy nights but that's understandable. As a miami local, one of a few places that's always on my to do list.

We really like this joint. It's always packed but have never had an issue with a reservation or getting the special JOEY treatment. Valet parking right out front too so don't bother driving around. They all charge the same. Note, we are vegan so interpret this as such (it will help explain why we live off of side dishes and wine). The food is amazing and the staff is very kind and courteous they move fast but never rush you. If there are ever any problems, just tell them Joey sent you. I'll see what I can do (though I am not THE Joey, I can at least come down and join you for a drink).

A group of ten of us made reservations to joeys for dinner. We gave them a credit card to hold our table. We were told that the credit card guaranteed our table When we arrived the hostess took us to a table outside, and then they came back and mentioned it was not available. We stood there by the table waiting for them to sort out the situation. Meanwhile another party of ten came and sat down at our table. We then had to go inside instead of enjoying the weather outside. We asked the waitress if they could at least offer some complimentary appetizers for inconveniencing us. She said she would speak to the manager. She never came back. Now this is about the food: the escargot was very disappointing even though it sounded good on the menu. There was no flavor and the texture was too chewy. We enjoyed the burrata and the cheese platter, but that's hard to mess up The trout was good, branzino was not up to par with the trout. The pizza was pretty good. They ended up giving us limoncellos on the house. I probably would not return, but it was not terrible.

Beautiful presentation but the food was totally bland. My wife joked that the water she's drinking had more taste than the salad. We tried to dump quantity of lemon juice on salmon crudo to get ANY flavor out of it to no avail. Very friendly service and beautiful presentation but the food was surprisingly tasteless.

Joey's has a great vibe but my experience eating-in was just okay. The service was great and everyone was really helpful and accommodating. We had to move our table inside because the music outside made it impossible to hear one another. I love their margarita pizza but the pasta I had that night wasn't very memorable. The drinks were great though; the strawberry bellini was quite tasty. I'll have to try it out again soon.

I ordered the pizza at lunch. So great! Walnuts ,Feta, Mozzarella, Caramelized onion, mushrooms, Arugula w/truffle oil, "So delish". I find it difficult to look at anything else on the menu cause the bar is now set so high. At dinner I ordered the buffalo, so great! Wow! Desert was a Lemon-cello cake that was highly addictive. We ordered a 2nd & overcame our embarrassment but it was worth every calorie

We were visiting Miami and had a craving for Italian. It's kind of a schlep from Miami Beach but well worth it! The food was amazingly awesome, we had to compliment the chef himself. What an absolute hidden gem. There is a little patio area outside. We had mushroom ravioli- a special- and it was one of the best meals we have ever had. One downside was how odd the area was, with just a couple restaurants -- albeit with fun bars, but not the best place to wander around.

This place is ok, I've gone to much better Italian places. I'll give it 3 stars because the tortellini wasn't bad, our server was knowledgeable, there wasn't a huge wait and the place offered valet. I also really like the revitalization that is occurring in the area. I recommend this place if you're gonna have a night out in Wynwood and you'd like a cozy place to have dinner. This place was a bit pricey too, we ended up spending nearly $200 for 4 people (maybe we shouldn't of ordered two bottles of wine lol)... oh well

I went there with five other people. The place was jammed. We made a reservation and were seated right away. Service was fine, it was the food... bad at best. Worst of all we had to pay prime for it. To start the bread for this Italian joint is some "cake' like crap that you are to put olive oil and balsamic on. Even good Italians would call the mob on this place in and NY second. Bad bread is like insulting your mother. Then I had the bland vegan soup Zuppa del Giorno (Vegan). Not enough pepper and salt on this table to make this bad boy work. A very tasteless watery split pea and something else hit with some mushy parsley. The cook obviously does not know what a strainer is! I had to constantly pick out fibers of something out of my mouth. My wife had a salad which I tried and was great. They also had some Pizza which was also great. (Personally, I love pizza so much bad pizza is good.) I had an Italian staple, clams and pasta or Spaghetti alle Vongole . The cook prepares his pasta to al dente and then lets it sit in the cooler until he serves it and then heats it up. Fuck!!!!! Pasta takes between 9-11 minutes to cook! WTF? When you let al dente pasta sit in water and cool again it will never, ever get to where it is suppose to be. It will stick to your teeth and be chewy. Besides the pasta was broken into three inch pieces! Cardinal sin number three! The worst of all and biggest sin in south Florida seafood industry is over cooking seafood!!! Don't these guys ever watch those stupid cooking shows? Fish is supposed to be taken out at 125 degrees and served at 130. They cant afford a thermometer or a simple timer? If you take it up to 150 and further it disintegrates. My friends fish was a fish that was "never frozen" from Alaska. Right... was cooked past 200. and was mush. I took the bite out of my mouth and put it into the napkin. So much for $30. My other friend had Grilled Sirloin Steak was cooked just how he liked it. I didn't taste it. He said it was seasoned on the outside and cold and raw in the center. And where is the thermometer? I guess it really doesn't matter. As somebody that used to cook, I can clearly say that these are simple things to fix. But I shouldn't have to be the one to say it. Somebody is not watching the helm and resting on the laurels that an ignorant tourist crowd simply does not object to. As for Joey's, there are plenty of places to get Pizza without having to deal with Wynwood parking. Yea I know the Wynwood wall are cool.... Once.

I've been to Joey's quite a few times in the past few years. The salads are excellent, but the panini are just okay. Pizza is pretty good. Since the Design District is becoming quite trendy, this place gets packed on the weekends, and especially during Art Walk times. The services is okay, I've have some pretty good servers here, and some pretty rude servers as well. All in all, it's a good (not great) option, albeit a bit overpriced.

This review is really hurting me to write. I've gone to Joey's for years. I'm friendly with so much of the staff and even know their children's names. I've taken every out of town visitor of mine here. Then, in the past year, Joey's has just started to suck. There I said it. Here are two of the "highlights" or I guess "lowlights". On Valentines Day, Joey's delivered a raw pizza to our table. When we sent it back, they cooked it more and it came back out with the dough still raw. When we mentioned this we were simply told "you got the short stick in the rotation in the oven" and the waitress simply moved on. I ate something different, but my boyfriend ate the pizza and woke up in the middle of the night with food poisoning. Oh and they charged us. Seriously? You couldn't comp the raw pizza? Then today I finally went back. My waiter was awful. I had to wait with an empty water for almost 15 minutes before I had to flag him down. Then I was on my 4th slice (don't judge me) when I finally got a bite of gorgonzola cheese on my gorgonzola pizza. This led me to pull all of the arugula off the pizza in the hunt for cheese. I've uploaded a photo. I found 3 bits (one hole is where I thought there was some gorgonzola cheese but there wasn't). The waiter, to his credit, offered to comp the pizza and even a free dessert, but, after all these years, I'm just over it. I paid, tipped him 20% and was on my way. For the last time. This used to be an awesome place, but, since Joey's ex-wife pilfered all their staff for her own place, this place just sucks. Now that I've looked, I've seen a lot of other people who are saying similar things. I hate it, but, if they don't care, I don't see why I should. Joey's, it's not me, it's you. You've just changed and we don't work any more. Well, technically, I guess you don't work anymore. Anyways, I'll always remember the good times we had- the nights with friends of too much wine, too much pizza and always finding room for dessert. I'm not going to let you destroy those memories anymore by returning to a subpar ghost of what you were.

Nice atmosphere but food was mediocre. Had their gorgonzola and fig pizza which is their most popular pizzas on the menu. Considering it only had cheese, walnuts, and arrugula I thought it was a bit over priced at 15.00. I also had the special capre appetizer and it was very good but also overpriced at

I came here late on a Saturday night with the sophisticated man (formerly known in my reviews as the cool guy). It was late and we decided to keep it simple and split a salad, pizza, and dessert. The salad was spinach which made this girl happy since I am right there with Popeye regarding my love for the leafy veggie. The salad was good but was a little lacking in the cheese dept; nothing major by any means but worth a mention. Our pizza was an odd but intriguing fig, honey, and hot pepper pie. Not bad but not my slice of heaven. For dessert it was three scoops of gelato 2 vanilla,1 chocolate. The vanilla tasted a lot more like ice-cream then gelato. Service not bad but not stellar and could improve by being just a tad more attentive. Valet parking is free. Next time I'd sit outside and dine al fresco. Points for having an original twist to the regular old menu items. This would probably be an amazing place for private parties and I agree with Martin O great restaurant pre-Downtown outing.

Joey's serves delicious Italian goodies in a gorgeous setting, but it has many miles to improve in the way of service. Immediately upon entering, we were bombarded by about 4 of the waitstaff. We chose to sit outside, and instead of following us with the menus, our soon-to-be waiter just lingered inside. And even though the busser brought out water glasses for all 4 of us, our waiter insisted they take 2 back, since 2 of us ordered other beverages. Off to a bad start. The menu offers several hot & cold antipasti, about ten or so pasta dishes, some secondi, and apparently a 3rd page with pizzas that I completely missed, much to my dismay. There's also a board inside with daily specials, but our waiter didn't inform us of them. Prices were very reasonable - $7-14 for pastas (including "small" portions), $11-20 for meat dishes. Our food didn't take all that long to come out, which was good, considering we were on a tight schedule. And when it did come out, it was delicious! I opted for the tortellini with mushrooms and speck, while my dining companions went with shells in a red sauce, the mussels & white beans special, and the chicken paillard. Everyone was pleased with their meals. The final blow in the service department came when we tried to pay our bill. Our waiter brought over the check when asked, but then disappeared to the point of one of us having to go inside to offer our payment, and then go back in to retrieve our cards, since our waiter was no where to be found! Overall - great food, poor service. I'll give Joey's another shot, just maybe after they've had their feet wet for more than a couple weeks.

This place has been on my to-do list for quite some time; therefore, in the mood for Italian we gave it a shot for a pre valentine's meal. We drove around the shady area for a while and parked along the road block away. When we arrived around 8ish pm the young hostess said they were booked for the night, the whole night so we made our way out but not before noticing several tables empty inside and outside. There was also a bar, which she did not suggest we wait and grab a seat at or bother to check if anyone had cancelled a reservation. With that said, we were turned off by the hostess but will "make reservations" and return another time.

Went to Joey's with a few girlfriends so we shared a few plates from the menu. Was really blown away by the pizza, much better than the other gourmet pizza places I've tried, I like that this place is in Wynwood- it has a cool upscale hipster vibe that's not pretentious. Will be back.

Joey's is both one of the top Italian restaurants in town, and a neighborhood gem with reasonable prices! Their menu is chock full of exciting pastas, home baked pizza and enticing appetizers. Each primi pasta dish is available in small of large portions. I've had the four cheese pasta and the Ham and Mushroom Totreloni in cream sauce. Each one is rich, creamy and when combined with some toasted fresh bread, a killer mid-day meal. You just want to sop all of the sauce up and get a refill, seriously! Their dinner sized portions are really filling, and enough for a doggie bag too... The pizzas have real Italian ingredients like Tuna and Tomato. The crusts are thin and crunchy and the cheese is real mozz. A single pizza is really enough for two at lunch. Best part about the place aside from the food? Wonderful service. When we sat down once and said 30 minutes for lunch, our food and drink all arrived in time for an unhurried meal. Joey's service, no matter who, is always courteous, professional and they know all the menu and specials. Joey's has great atmosphere, and is appropriate for a casual lunch or a fancy dinner. There is indoor and outdoor seating if the weather is right! If you're downtown, looking for a wonderful lunch or want to have a special place for a first date with top service, great wine and food, Joey's is your spot!

I would have to say this is one of the worst places I have eaten in Miami. I really only went here Saturday night because it was convenient for the art walk. I never been in an Italian Restaurant where I couldn't find one thing on the menu. So I ordered a half order of rigatoni (boxed) and a salad with calamari and canned tuna? Ok weird so I asked the guy for no tuna just calamari. Them my friend ordered the chicken pillard so I said you know what to be safe let me just cancel and get the same. How can you screw up chicken, Oh they managed to !! My friend bit into hers and says this isn't cooked, but I looked and it was not pink. She sent it back to get It more well done about 5 bites when I just said this is gross. I cant explain it was cooked but almost rubbery, but not fatty just rubber. So I sent it back and did not eat. Also during my meal the pasta I canceled when I ordered the chicken with potatoes also came out. What I didn't order that I changed to chicken but the guy put it in as well. I would skip this place !

Joey's is good, very good. Love going there for lunch and people watching. The fish is yummy, the pasta excellent. I also tried the risotto and the tuna salad and they were both excellent. Great Italian restaurant in one of my favorite parts of Miami: Wynwood.

I'm bumping it up a point after trying more pizzas. But before I do, let me get some negatives out of the way: - Lamb was pricey and not filling if you're famished. I've gotten filled better at Buena Vista Bistro and that area is slightly better than the area Joey's at. For $24, they better work on that, and QUICK! - Pasta half portions are TINY - and a full portion looks largely empty thanks to an enormous bowl. So, for pasta, it's pricey too, unless if you order full size which makes it barely reasonable. No bargains here if you want samples of what the restaurant has to offer. At least the pasta dishes are tasty! Now as for the pizza... after the press release from New York mentioning the "fabulous" pizza to be had at this location, I had to give this place a second chance when it comes to pizza - especially after the pretty disappointing figs & honey "dolce e piccante" pizza. I had the opportunity to try the margherita, tonno, and carbonara. One thing that stood out this time compared with last time - the pies were evenly cooked, with a satisfying amount of char! The margherita ($8) was good, the crust held well, but they could have been a bit more liberal with the basil instead of leaving it in the middle of the pie. Still good, nevertheless, and a good starter. The Joey ($15 - tuna, spicy salame, gorgonzola cheese, capers and spinach) was an amazing burst of flavor, and I loved it greatly! However, because of the heavy toppings, the crust did not hold well despite it being well cooked and having a good char. It's a tasty pizza, but don't go eating it as if you were in New York (aka fork and knives needed). The carbonara ($14 - bacon, eggs, mozzarella, and asparagus) was also amazing! The crust held better due to lighter toppings, and the fried egg in the middle was a nice twist, as was the asparagus. The flavors melded together nicely. Overall, my perception of the pies from this place is vastly improved and I would definitely recommend people to come here for the pizza! Have some with an Italian birra (beer) and I can guarantee you'll walk out a happy person! The unique pizzas alone (besides the sweet one) are worth 5 stars! Additionally, I liked the pizzas here better than those from nearby Pizza Volante.

Even though the service is pretty slow, the food at Joeys is amazing. I love the gnocchi with pink sauce. I love the ambience, and I love the crowd that goes there, very classy and its right next to all the action in Wynwood.

One of my favorite places now in Miami, it is in a trendy area, looks cool, good service, not pricey but not cheap, its just right. I have been there twice, both experiences have been really good, the first time we ordered some salads and the special to happen to be sirloin, the meat tasted very good but the guy that sliced must be drunk or calling his boyfriend....it was uneatable... so I told the chef and very kindly took my plate and sliced another portion himself, this time was just right. The other time I had take out pizza, I ordered two pizzas and both were delicious, but unless you are going to eat them in 5 min. I wont recommend spending the extra buck on gourmet pizzas to go. The whole staff is super friendly, I am looking forward to return to this place to keep trying some other treats.

i really like joeys!! its a solid 3 stars. i will admit i was a bit scared driving up thru the "ghetto". no lights, no cars, no ppl except for the random homeless trolling the streets. anyways we valeted bc my preggo friend felt it was safer that way, i was willing to live on the edge and walk half a block. we walked right in and were seated immediately without reservations. the place got packed within 10 mins of being there. i had the house salad to start - it was good, although i wished i woulda ordered the fancier one with figs. i had the margherita pizza which was simple and delicious. my friend had the dolce pizza w figs, honey, gorgonzola, and pepper flakes - it was di-freakin-vine. omg i stole a whole slice and was secretly hoping for a second. possibly the best pizza ive ever had. i also tried the papperdelle w bolognese which was very good and cooked to perfection. the house pinot grigio was light crisp and refreshing. the food took quite a while to come out. the service was nice, nothing extraordinary, but good. i will be back for that dolce pizza...

The pizza with figs and gorgonzola is just awesome. Nice and friendly place but not all dishes were always perfect. We like it, though.

Looking for a place to eat, my daughter mentioned Joey;s, I had not been there in a while, but had wonderful experiences in the past; excellent food , service and ambiance. I am sorry to say I was very disappointed on this visit. We ordered a scallops and polenta appetizer, the scallops were ok, the polenta was totally flavorless. Next came pasta, ordered a black and white spaghetti with crab , tomatoes and zucchini, which was a daily special and linguine vongole. The only discernible taste in both dishes, was bitter bottled minced garlic, and bad olive oil. For what they charge they could not even use real garlic? or good olive oil? That is all the dish requires. I will never go back.

We had a group of 30 and they were awesome! The food was great and so was our waiter. One of our waiters her name was Casey and she was super friendly. At the end they were very helpful and did not give us any problem with splitting the bills. I gave them four stars because the outside they need to put more fans, but the overall experience was great.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
